Joby Beamo Studio Key Light review

Are you looking for an alternative to a ring light? Then the Joby Beamo Studio Key Light is worth considering for your streaming setup. Joby is a relative newcomer to the lighting arena, as a brand probably best known for its range of GorillaPods (the flexible miniature camera tripods with bendy legs, often used by vloggers to film themselves at arm's length).

Its first lighting product was influenced by Lume Cube's line of pocket-sized cube-shaped lights. Since then, though, the company has gone on to carve out its own identity in the vlogging and streaming space, adding streaming mics like the Joby Wavo Pod to its arsenal, and even partnering with YouTube royalty Casey Neistat in 2022.

In addition to "cube lights," it now offers a range of ring lights, background lights, and LED panels – with the Joby Beamo Studio Key Light ranking among the best lights for streaming. With a slim outline and super soft illumination, I think it's a great addition to any YouTube or Twitch home studio, and at around $80 (£70) it's an affordable light for beginners.

A tabletop light producing soft, flattering, diffused illumination, it offers a wired remote control for discreetly adjusting your settings with multiple shoes to mount microphones and other accessories – making it one of the most versatile streaming lights available. But is it the right streaming light for your needs? Read on to find out.

Logitech G Litra Beam LX review: dual-sided joy

The Logitech G Litra Beam LX is the company's latest light aimed at streamers who want to improve the look of their setup. It's an upgrade on the first, cheaper Logitech Litra Beam because it offers dual-sided illumination rather than one white light source. There's a neutral, customizable light bar at the front to brighten your face and make you glow, and RGB lighting at the back to make your surroundings a little more exciting and add that gamer vibe.

The best lights for streaming come in all shapes and sizes. But they do have a common function; to brighten your setup, make you look good on calls and streams, and to be easy to use. The Logitech G Litra Beam LX does all those things for a higher price than many. That said, it currently has little competition, and gives out a brilliant, even light – plus customization – that almost warrants its price. And it's not just for streamers. If you're looking for better illumination on video calls and want to boost your office setup, the Logitech G Litra Beam LX is a great-looking lamp in non-gamer setups.

How do you beat the Hades 2 Hecate boss? As the saying goes, it's time for the student to become the master as Melinoë faces her mentor, Headmistress Hecate. Using the daughter of Zeus' witchy powers and quick reflexes, you should be able to overcome this challenge with enough persistence.

However, Hecate isn't going to make this easy for you. She has some rather devious tricks that make even the first Hades 2 boss fight one to remember. While you can't progress beyond this point right now in the highly anticipated roguelike game due to the limitations of the technical test, there are plenty of challenges in this fight to overcome. Warhorse have revealed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, sequel to the 2018 open world action-RPG which you will likely remember for a couple of reasons: 1) its ostensibly faithful but inevitably skewed representations of race, gender and class in medieval Bohemia, which were amplified by its creative director Daniel Vávra's qualified endorsement of Gamergate, and 2) being a moderately entertaining, buggy and mucky chivalric fable in which you have to worry about keeping your sword sharp and eating food before it rots.

Going by the announcement video, the new game is the same game but with more cash to burn. It's the work of 250 people, with Jan Valta returning as composer. According to Vávra, "what we are making now is what it was supposed to be in the beginning, but we were not able to do it because we didn't have enough resources and experience."

And yet, for more than half a decade, no whisper of a PC release was heard - until now, that is.

The Anniversary Edition of Braid was originally announced almost four years ago, and originally meant to be out sometime in 2021. Larian aren't just not making Baldur's Gate 4 – they're treating Baldur's Gate 3's success as an opportunity to develop their own intellectual properties, with two new games in the works. These games will build on the "sensibilities" of Baldur's Gate 3 in being "immersive experiences shaped by your choices", but by the sounds of things, they won't be adaptations of anybody else's narrative or setting. Divinity: Original Sin 3? It's the obvious call, but come now, free your mind. How about a kart racing game, Larian, or a banging old school mascot platformer? When are you going to make a platform game, Larian?

If the purpose of a tech demo is to induce a flash of thinking "Hey that's neat," then I'd be lying if I said Nvidia's Covert Protocol – a playable showcase for their AI NPC tool, Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) – hadn't worked on me. If, on the other hand, it's to develop that thought into "Hey, I want this in games right now," it's going to take more than a slightly stilted natter with an aspiring bartender.

When the 7.4 update arrives for Honkai Impact 3rd, a Thelema Nutriscu Battlesuit called Mad Pleasure: Shadowbringer will be a part of it. Now there's a new cinematic trailer showing her using off her lavish abilities to attack enemies, critiquing the environment's decorations and referring to how she'll pick a "dog."

Here's the video highlighting Thelema in Honkai Impact 3rd. It gives us a chance to see her abilities, her personality, and even a hint at her playstyle. For those who haven't been keeping up, she is the Shu of Pleasure in the Seven Shus group on Langqiu.

In case you missed it, a video discussing Thelema's development and her moveset appeared earlier in April 2024. While it started with a cinematic, it also focused on the developers discussing her creation and design.

We'll know more about it and the 7.4 update soon. The next Hyperion Lounge showcase discussing the game, its new additions, and upcoming events airs on April 18, 2024. You can catch it on YouTube, and the placeholder is live.

Bandai and Tamashii Nations have revealed a brand new Bleach Ichigo Kurosaki SH Figuarts figure which is set to release in Japan in October 2024 for ¥ 9,900 (~$64 USD). The figure has also been announced for release worldwide, but no release date or pre-order information has been provided at the current time.

The new Ichigo Kurosaki SH Figuarts figure is being referred to as his "Dual Zangetsu" version, which is based on his Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War appearance once Ichigo reforges his zanpakuto. When Ichigo reforges his zanpakuto, it reveals that his sword has become two halves of one whole. In this outfit, Ichigo wears a large red and white pauldron on his left shoulder and a smaller white pauldron on his right shoulder, creating an "X" across his chest, and around his waist is a torn white and black robe.

The upcoming figure comes with 4 swords: Getsuga Tensho and Getsuga Jujisho unsheathed, and the both swords sheathed. Ichigo also comes with four different faces, six different hands for gripping the swords or different poses, and various attack effects. Ichigo can be posed into many different ways to replicate his attacks from the anime by utilizing the provided stand that comes with the figure.

Images of the new SH Figuarts figure based on Ichigo Kurosaki can be viewed below:

The new Bleach Ichigo Kurosaki's Dual Zangetsu SH Figuarts figure goes on sale in Japan on April 19, 2024, and releases October 2024 in Japan. Tamashii Nations stated that more information about the worldwide release will be revealed soon.

The Street Fighter Powerlifting figure series, which involves heroines in workout costumes lifting weights, is getting Cammy variants. Premium Collectibles Studio is taking pre-orders for three variants, which will cost $598.50 each.

The three different versions of Cammy are all based on her appearances from past Street Fighter games. So there's the Classic Silver Ex one based on her default red and black outfit, an Alpha Ex design inspired by Street Fighter Alpha, and a SF6 Ex option that draws from Street Fighter 6. In addition to her outfit and its color scheme changing, her hairstyle can change from one version to another. All three feature a gym bag behind her, with some having a hat on top of it. Cosmetic differences aside, each one will be a 1/4 scale figure that stands at 16.5 inches tall and 21.5 inches wide. Each one will also come with a matching print of the Edwin Huang concept art that inspired it.

Here's a closer look at the three versions of the new Cammy figure.

And here are the concept art prints that come with them.

G-Mode Archives Gets Persona 3 Aigis The First Mission

G-Mode announced the release of Persona 3 Aigis The First Mission for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The release date for the game is currently undecided.

Persona 3 Aigis The First Mission is a Japan-only single player action-RPG originally released in 2007 for mobile devices, and it will be the 100th game to release in the G-Mode Archives+ collection. The game will only appear in Japan on the Switch, but will be available worldwide on Steam. However, the game will only be available in Japanese. Furthermore, the game was originally released as Aegis The First Mission in Japan, and the port's title reflects that.

The plot of Persona 3 Aigis The First Mission takes players to Yakushima in May 1999, 10 years prior to the beginning of Persona 3. Like its title implies, players take control of Aigis in an original story. While the mainline Persona series is turn-based, Aigis The First Mission sees players use the titular android fighting against Shadows using her Persona Palladion using three different type of weapons, and four different skills.

In addition, G-Mode showcased some gameplay during their most recent livestream. You can take a look at how Persona 3 Aigis The First Mission plays in the video below. The footage of the game appears between the 1:04:24 mark and finishes at 1:33:47. The stream is only available in Japanese.

G-Mode has previously released a variety of Atlus spin-off mobile titles, including Persona: Ikuu no Tou Hen, Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible New Testament III: Mugen no Eiyuu, and most recently Majin Tensei: Blind Thinker.

Persona 3 Aigis The First Mission will appear on the Nintendo Switch in Japan and PC via Steam worldwide. There is currently no set release date.

Castlevania and Quarth Block Hole deluxe pack for X68000 Z

A home computer version of Castlevania will be available to play on the classic computer's emulator console. Zuiki has announced that it will release the X68000 version of Castlevania on its X68000 Z mini-console on May 30, 2024. The company will bundle the game with Block Hole, a puzzle shooter game that is also known in Japan as Quarth.

Pre-orders for the physical package are immediately available on Zuiki Store at ¥5,478 (~$35.45). The package will feature a game case modeled after floppy disks that were used in classic PCs. The actual game cartridge will appear in the form of an SDHC card that the owner can insert into the X68000 Z console.

Konami originally released the X68000 version of Castlevania in 1993 in Japan. This version was also a remake of the game's inaugural edition which came out on the Famicom Disk System in 1986. The company later ported this version as-is in the Original Mode of Castlevania Chronicles, which it gradually released worldwide on the PlayStation in 2001.

This new port will add another entry to the list of classic Castlevania games that get brought over to modern consoles. Konami released the Castlevania Advance Collection which primarily featured the series' GBA entries for the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2021. Nintendo also added the Game Boy version of Castlevania Legends to its Nintendo Switch Online lineup in October 2023.

The Castlevania and Block Hole Deluxe Pack will be available for X68000 Z on May 30, 2024.

Review: Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files Is Fine

The Touch Detective series and its Funghi mascot ended up becoming something of a phenomenon in Japan, with three mainline games, spin-offs, and all sorts of merchandise. However, only the first entry and Touch Detective 2 ½ ended up localized. Touch Detective Rising 3: Does Funghi Dream of Bananas only showed up on the 3DS in Japan. With Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files, Nicalis picked up and brought the collection to the west and, while it's great for the sake of preservation, it doesn't feel like the best versions of the games.

For those who are unfamiliar with Touch Detective, it is a point-and-click adventure series about a young detective named Mackenzie. She's known as the touch detective due to her chronicling her thoughts on touching various objects as you go through her cases. (Also, it was just a clever name in the DS era, given you'd use the stylus and touch screen to play.) Her goal is to follow in her father's footsteps. The world she inhabits is gothic and fantastical, and the various cases and criminals can be fantastical and even absurd. Her friend Penelope often starts things by reporting things like dreams being stolen, a missing ice fairy, colored noodles being stolen, bananas being stolen, or missing raffle tickets. Touch Detective 3 continues this trend, starting with a banana theft that ties into a more widespread crime spree. It also continues the trend of new rivals or major players being introduced, with fellow young detective Norman Touche joining as her rival.

The fun thing about Touch Detective 3 and the other games in the Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files collection is how whimsical they are. The stories are lighthearted and goofy, but feel like they're handled well and not too silly due to the setting. This also means that there can be more farfetched solutions, because it makes sense when you consider the in-game logic applied to them. The pacing is really great for every case in every installment. Also, even if the initial set up seems a little familiar, such as the colored noodle theft being present in Touch Detective 2 1/2 and banana theft in 3, what follows typically is new and fresh enough to make the experience feel worthwhile.

Also, it's a great value for the money. If you're willing to go with just carts from the DS release, you might be able to get the first two games for about $40. But we've never seen the third entry in English before, so that's a pretty big deal and great incentive. Not to mention having it on the Switch makes it much more accessible. A wider audience could pick it up and play.

The downside is, Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files is not optimized for the Switch. You can't move Mackenzie with the analog stick and press an action button to have her investigate her surroundings, interact with people, or explore new areas. The analog stick controls a mouse cursor, which you must move around the screen to highlight areas and press an action button to take action. (You can also tap on the touch screen.) Considering the work going into the title, it feels like it would have been a more accessible option.

Visually, it feels like there's little to no remastering done with the games as well. Character models and backgrounds look awkward, dated, and jagged. Especially when the new UI elements pop up. The entire game is in a windowed mode as well, to match the past resolution, which isn't too bad. I just wish a little more care had been put into tidying it up.

I do like the extras that were included as bonus features. There are past comic strips, which are localized for this release. There's a lot of character concept art, which I really appreciated given how detailed and interesting the character designs are. It's a great way to better appreciate the gothic-cute direction of the game and its locations, as well as maybe catch elements that might not have been as clear due to the handling of the Switch port.

Touch Detective 3 is a missing piece of a puzzle that is just as delightful as the previous two games, and it's great to have the full collection of all three games easily accessible on the Switch as Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files. There is a downside to the release, however. The port doesn't feel optimized for the console, both when it comes to its graphics and the control scheme.

Touch Detective 3 + The Complete Case Files is available on the Nintendo Switch.

Skullgirls Valentine Crosses to Shurikens Animation Shared

Hidden Variable announced it is finally taking action to change the Valentine crosses to shurikens in Skullgirls games and shared a first video of the change. As a reminder, the developer first announced the redesign in May 2022

As a refresher, initially the color of the character's crosses were changed from red to fuchsia for legal reasons. Following that, a full change to a shuriken was announced. Initially, that alteration was expected to go through in Skullgirls 2nd Encore and the mobile game within 2022. However, delays mean it's only happening now.

Here's the test animation showing how Valentine will look with shurikens on her hat, coat, and leggings, rather than crosses.

While the in-game design hasn't changed yet, other Skullgirls materials and items with Valentine did already show her crosses changed to shurikens. For example, her Nendoroid features her new design when it released in 2023. Official art also reflects this change. However, there's still no exact timeline for when we'll start seeing the new design appear in both Skullgirls 2nd Encore and the mobile game.

Skullgirls 2nd Encore is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Skullgirls is available on mobile devices.

Bandai Namco announced SAO Last Recollection Ritual of Bonds 2, the second DLC pack that involves Kirito pairing off with Sword Art Online characters, is now available and features both Alice and Eugeo. Like the first part, the second costs $14.99, includes opportunities to pair off and see scenarios for nine characters, get costumes for those nine, and enter a new dungeon.

It starts with Kirito in his tux, ahead of going into the Obsidia Castle dungeon that requires people to battle in pairs. Starting at the 54 second mark, it looks at the first volume of the DLC. That includes characters like Asuna, Lisbeth, Philia, and Strea. At the 1:32 mark, it starts looking at the second add-on's characters. In the case of every character, we see the side-by-side bed art and the formal character portrait and hear a potentially romantic line from their voice actor.

Final Fantasy XIV Yo-Kai Watch event

Final Fantasy XIV players will once again have a chance to earn unique weapons when the Yo-Kai Watch event returns on April 24, 2024. The event first appeared in 2016 and has been re-run several times since then.

Beginning the event requires players to have reached level 15 in a class and to have completed the "Envoy" quests that take you to the 3 major cities. After that, the event can be started by speaking to the "Poor-heeled Youth" in the Steps of Nald in Ul'dah. Equipping the Yo-Kai Watch will allow you to earn Yo-Kai medals by participating in FATE events in the areas surrounding the cities, or in any areas added in the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions.

Yo-Kai medals can then be exchanged with the Wandering Executive located in the central area of the Gold Saucer, accessible via airship, who will introduce you to various Yo-Kai. By meeting enough Yo-Kai, players will earn the ability to summon them as minions, as well as obtain the Whisper-go mount. Befriending all 17 will unlock the newly added framer's kit for purchase at the Gold Saucer.

The unique weapons can be earned with Legendary Yo-Kai medals, earned by completing specific FATEs with the relevant minion summoned. You can get a look at a few of the Final Fantasy XIV and Yo-kai Watch event weapons and minions available in the gallery below:

Square Enix recently released an official FFXIV: Dawntrail benchmark tool, allowing players to test their hardware with the upcoming expansions graphical updates. Meanwhile back in February 2024, it was announced that Hololive Vtuber Inugami Korone would voice a character in the Yo-Kai Watch anime.

The Yo-Kai Watch: Gather One, Gather All! collaboration event will return to Final Fantasy XIV on April 24, 2024. The game itself is readily available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X while the Dawntrail expansion is set to launch on July 2, 2024.

Here's the first "The VShojo Security Experience" episode, which set the stage for events.

In the second episode, Code Blue attempts to find out who is behind the theft.

Original Octopath Traveler Switch Digital Game Back on eShop

Back at the beginning of March 2024, it was discovered that the original Octopath Traveler game was suddenly unavailable to purchase from the Switch eShop. Now over a month later, Square Enix confirmed people can buy it from the storefront again.

Here's the official announcement that it is back. Square Enix didn't explain the temporary issue:

The game is still showing as $59.99, as usual. All of the descriptions and screenshots are all the same as well. It does now show Square Enix as the publisher, rather than Nintendo, just as the page abruptly did once it showed it was unavailable in March 2024.

As a reminder, this issue only affected the eShop version of Octopath Traveler that was initially published by Nintendo. During this period, people were still able to get the Windows PC version via Steam and Xbox One version via the Microsoft Store.

Octopath Traveler is immediately available, and people can find it on the Switch, Xbox One, and PC. There are a total of three games in the series so far. Octopath Traveler 2 is out on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. There is also a mobile game spin-off called Octopath Traveler: Conquerors of the Continent

Persona 5 Royal crossover content in mobile game Dot Yuusha

Efun Company has revealed that it will add crossover content from Atlus' Persona 5 Royal to its mobile game Dot Yuusha. Players will be able to obtain the exclusive content for a limited time from late April 2024 to mid-May 2024. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The collaboration will feature the Phantom Thieves Joker and Violet. While both characters will be available regularly via a limited-time gacha banner, Efun will also hold a series of campaigns via the social media platform X where players can decipher codes to obtain Violet for free.

The Persona 5 Royal characters will appear in their Phantom Thief attires by default. However, the mobile game will also feature their regular school outfits as alternative skins.      Pokemon Go 2024 New AvatarIf poor developer decisions and a lack of engaging content weren't enough for players to quit Pokémon GO, recent changes to playable avatars might be the straw that breaks the Camerupt's back. The "Rediscover Pokémon GO" campaign aims to freshen up the seven-year-old game with fancy location-based graphics, new AR features, and a long-awaited update to player customization. The campaign's first phase recently introduced brand-new models for player characters, which, unfortunately, look like they've crawled out of the depths of our nightmares. Whether it's the unsettling faces, disproportionately long bodies, or clipping issues with clothing, Niantic has somehow managed to downgrade avatars already below the industry standard. I have no words… byu/Longjumping-Ad...

So where can you find a Shovel in No Rest for the Wicked? We'll show you where to look. No Rest for the Wicked: Where to find a Shovel If you want to uncover those dig spots you'll need a Shovel, but where exactly can you get yourself one? Just like other tools such as the Pickaxe and Axe you'll need to find it yourself. You can find a Shovel in No Rest for the Wicked at Filmore's shop in the Mess Hall. Screenshot: PC Invasion Currently, I've yet to spot the Shovel as a discoverable item in the open world, unlike other tools. Despite this, I was later able to purchase it from Filmore's shop for 20 Copper coins. How do you unlock this shop? Well, it's located here on the map with the star icon and you'll need to find the Mess Hall Key to unlock the door. Screenshot: PC Invasion The key is easy to miss, but not...

Fallout 4 How To Hack TerminalsTrying to hack terminals was always the bain of my life in the Fallout until I figured out the technique. There are a few tips and tricks to use that will get you through even Fallout's hardest terminals. How does hacking a terminal work in Fallout? To hack a terminal, you first need to understand how it works. The simple answer is a word-guessing game of elimination.
