     Starfield story and timeline explained

What is the Starfield timeline? So far, we've been piecing together the Starfield story and lore of major players and planets that appear in Settled Systems from the information teased in trailers and previews. Thankfully, Bethesda has now released a Starfield timeline spanning 278 years, allowing us to track all the major events in the story so far.

We already have a strong indication of just how big Starfield is, so it stands to reason that a universe of this size must have an expansive history to match. The official Starfield timeline charts humanity's course across the stars and their eventual settlement on distant planets, as well as the founding of major cities. Given how long we can expect our Starfield journey to take, let us walk you through the history of the Settled Systems.

     Starfield digipicking explained

What is Starfield digipicking? There's going to be stuff in space that people don't want you to get your grubby little mitts on. They lock their cases, their cabinets, hell, even their doors. The fools. They don't know that you're already a master of digipicking - the futuristic version of Starfield lockpicking, obviously - and it'll take much more than a silly lock to stand in your way.

The Starfield release date is edging ever closer, and the smell of adventure is in the air - well, in your spacesuit, anyway - if you're anything like us, you can't wait to gather your companions, build your own Starfield spaceship, and set off into the final frontier. What happens, though, if you find something that's locked? Well, you pick that lock, silly. Here's how.

Which FFXIV Scions of the Seventh Dawn Character Do You Like Best?

2023 and 2024 are big years for Final Fantasy XIV. The Fan Fests kicked off worldwide again. Square Enix revealed the new Dawntrail expansion due out in 2024. There's the 10th anniversary, with accompanying events. A lot's going on! We figured now is a good time to talk about the FFXIV Scions of the Seventh Dawn characters we liked best, given we'll be heading out on a new journey with them in 6.5 and 7.0.

As much as I like G'raha Tia, Estinien is my favorite out of all the FFXIV characters. I mean, he's a strong companion and gets some great character development from A Realm Reborn to Endwalker. I think his relationship with Aymeric is great. Also, his Lucille Bluth levels of disregard when it comes to money always amuses me. -- Jenni

This may be controversial, but I'm not a huge fan of most of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn after all these years of playing FFXIV. While I like Estinien, I could use more development for him. That said, G'raha Tia stands out as the best for me. His charm and seemingly undying love for the protagonist is terrific. But even he has lacked in appearances and attention in the last several patches and in Endwalker. -- Cody

Armored Core 6 channels Dark Souls, but it could be much more

The long-awaited Armored Core 6 is on the horizon, and a decade of patience for series fans is about to culminate in what could be the quintessential mech game of our generation. After considerable time spent creating and arguably perfecting the soulslike genre with Elden Ring, developer FromSoftware has jumped back into the cockpit with both hands on the controls, but does it have what it takes to pilot us into a new age for robot games, or will Rubicon's blessing be too much for the team to handle?

     Anime Adventures codes August 2023

August 20, 2023: We added two new Anime Adventures codes to our list.

What are the new Anime Adventures codes? If you're starting out trying to defend your base, you will want to summon the most powerful heroes and villains based on the most popular anime of all time, such as One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Dragon Ball, to stop the evil forces from storming your base. But, of course, some are more powerful than others, so if you want to get the most out of the game's gacha system, you'll want tons of codes.

Anime Adventures is a tower defense anime game built inside Roblox, and you can earn gems to summon units by grinding through levels and completing daily missions. AA codes can help you get even more gems, which you can spend on getting the best units in the game. New codes are released with every update, so if you see the prompt for a new update, do check back to see if there are any that you've not redeemed yet. While you're here, you should know that we also keep lists of Blox Fruits codes, King Legacy codes, and All Star Tower Defense codes to get you more freebies.

Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan Anime Blu-ray Captures the Details

The Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan JoJo's Bizarre Adventure spin-off stories are a delightful extra. Rohan himself is quite a character, and the adventures he gets on outside of the typical Diamond is Unbreakable affairs are relatable and captivating even if you don't follow the mainline series. We've seen it happen in manga, anime, and even live action adaptations. Now Viz Media released a Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan Blu-ray of all four episodes of the anime OVA, and it feels like such a solid tribute. It's a great way to watch outside of Netflix, which feels like it could take away series' at a moment's notice, while also properly giving these episodes their due.

Part of the brilliance of the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan concept is that someone doesn't really need to be aware of larger JoJo's Bizarre Adventure canon to appreciate the anime OVA episodes. Yes, you do need to know that like many people in the series, he was struck by an arrow and had the stand Heaven's Door awaken because of it. With it, he can turn people into human books. While he can then make them follow his orders by writing in them, he will more likely pry and use it for inspiration for his own works. See, he's a mangaka, a "genius" one known for Pink Dark Boy, which "runs" in Shonen Jump. All you need to know from there is that he tends to find himself in supernatural situations and, well, can come across as an arrogant and egotistical jerk. I mean, he does genuinely care for some people, like Kyōka. But he does know exactly how talented he is and is completely abrasive.

But it's because of that expertise that the four stories on the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan Blu-ray are such great viewing. Each one is self-contained and can be watched without any background aside from the above information. The episode numbers in their titles? There for flavor. "Episode 2: Mutsu-kabe Hill" actually aired after "Episode 5: Millionaire Village," after all. Each one involves Rohan somehow stumbling on a supernatural occurrence involving things other than Stands. As such, someone coming into it doesn't need to know the elaborate history of the series. They can just appreciate a mangaka with special powers happening upon and reacting to weird situations.

It also helps that the Blu-ray comes with features that help add more insight into this Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan anime adaptation. On the disc itself, there's an interview with Landon McDonald about playing Rohan in the English dub. It's insightful, especially given the character's strong personality.

However, even better is the booklet accompanying it. It's quite brief, coming in at only 20 pages. However, it has all these behind-the-scenes insights into each episode. We can read blurbs from the director, character designer, voice actors, and others involved with each OVA. There's concept art for characters and locations. We can see what outfit Rohan wore in that episode, because of course there'd be that extra detail for such a "master." There's also a three-page interview with Director Toshiyuki Kato and Character Designer Shunichi Ishimoto about different episodes and adaptation decisions. Book-ending it with a brief interview with Rohan's Japanese voice actor Takahiro Sakurai is also a great complement to the interview on the disc.

The Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan Blu-ray is a great package to have. Especially at a time when it can be so easy for digital media to become inaccessible or disappear for good. It would have been fine to even just include the four episodes of the OVA. But getting these extra insights into the making of these Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan anime adaptations is a lot of fun.

The Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan anime OVA Blu-ray is available now. Viz Media also handled the localization of the manga.
