Valve has made a lot of changes to Steam this week, which point to either CSGO Source 2, or a full-blown Counter-Strike 2 release date. Here's a neat trick: if you want a high-end gaming laptop but don't want to pay over the odds for it, consider the Corsair Voyager A1600. If you buy it from Corsair's US web store, add a PC case like this one and then use code NEWBUILD, you can pick up the laptop and the case for significantly less than the cost of the laptop alone.

In fact, this $1800 laptop that debuted in December last year for $2300, complete with Ryzen 9 CPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, 2TB of NVMe storage, a 16-in 2560x1600 (16:10) 240Hz display and Radeon RX 6800M graphics card, goes down to just $1536. And you get a free case, essentially, which you can resell later if you don't need it. Or keep it and build a PC in it, because these Corsair cases are actually really lovely!

Layers Of Fear — recently quietly renamed from its working title Layers Of Fears — is a game that requires a bit of explanation. It shares its title with the 2016 game of the same name, and is being overseen by original developers Bloober Team. But it's neither a remake nor a reboot; although, in some ways, it's both of those things. It's more a "reimagining" of the whole Layers Of Fear series to date, as well as its apparent swansong. It incorporates ground-up remakes of the two-and-a-half existing games in the series in Unreal Engine 5, alongside a new gaiden chapter complementing the first game, and a brand-new framing narrative tying the whole lot together.

I recently sat in on an early preview presentation of Layers Of Fear, chatting with creative director Damian Kocurek. Listeners to one very specific episode of the EWS podcast might recall that I'm something of a Layers Of Fear lore theorist, so of course I was delighted to nerd out over what this new(ish) game is all about. Similarly detail-oriented horror fans out there will hopefully share my excitement when I tell them that yes, the rats are back, and you can even catch a brief glimpse of the Rat Queen.

Deltarune Ralsei Nendoroid Comes with Cake

The first Deltarune Nendoroid is on the way, as a figure of Ralsei from the Toby Fox game will appear in 2023. It will show up in Japan first in October 2023. It will cost ¥8,900 there. The North American release is set for December 2023. The price in the US storefront will be $62.99. Among his accessories will be one of the cakes he "baked."

This version of Ralsei only shows his dark side. There's no option to swap heads and hands for his other appearance. He'll come with three face plates. One features a neutral expression, he's smiling widely in the second, and he is blushing in the third. There also seem to be two different pairs of glasses to help convey various expressions. His hat is removable. As for accessories, he can be posed holding a cake or a sparkle.

Here's a closer look at the figure.

While Ralsei is the first Deltarune Nendoroid, there have been quite a few figures from the Toby Fox game Undertale so far. Sans and Papyrus showed up first. Those were followed by Undyne. The Human and Toriel are in development too.

The Deltarune Ralsei Nendoroid will come to Japan in October 2023 and North America in December 2023. Pre-orders close on April 27, 2023. Deltarune chapters 1-2 are available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. Chapters 3-5 are in development.

Neon from Stranger of Paradise joins Dissidia FFOO

Neon from Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is now in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia following the most recent update. Players will be able to recruit Jack Garland's ally in the Act 3 Interlude "In a Godless World." Her arrival in the global version comes almost a year after her debut in the Japanese version.

You can check out the announcement, along with a preview of Neon from Stranger of Paradise in Dissidia FFOO, below:
https://twitter.com/DissidiaFFOO/status/1636547902846713858?s=20

As you can see in the trailer, Neon is a sword user and her moves focus on dealing fire damage. Markedly, her abilities cause "Fires of Rage." Upon reaching six stacks, it can inflict Maximum BRV Damage. An alternate outfit, the red jacket, was also unveiled, based on her appearance when choosing the red mage job. (Costumes are paid items in the game.)

For Neon's FR weapon's ability, she summons Celes from Final Fantasy VI to conjure a giant flaming sword and attack all enemies. Her other abilities, such as Asura and Firebringer, also allude to her fiend and Chaos Advent forms seen in Stranger of Paradise.

Neon is the second character from Stranger of Paradise to appear in Dissidia FFOO, the first being protagonist Jack Garland. Both characters first arrived in the Japanese version in April and July 2022. Astos appeared in the Japanese version at the end of 2022, so it is very likely that we can meet him in the global version in a few months.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. You can play Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

mezase pokemon master anime song

Rica Matsumoto, the voice actress for Satoshi (Ash) in the Pokemon anime, appeared on The First Take to sing "Mezase Pokemon Master," which was the show's very first opening theme song. Aside from voicing the main character, Matsumoto also frequently sang openings for the Japanese version of Pokemon. As of the time of writing, the video on The First Take has garnered over 575,000 views.

You can watch the "Mezase Pokemon Master" video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMKf5mE3sdo

Though she does not appear, there are some cameo voice lines from people like Ikue Otani (Pikachu). This is part of the original opening, which featured Pikachu and Professor Oak interjecting at certain points of the Pokemon anime's theme song. It's unclear if the "with my friends" part of the opening refers to them, the back-up singers, or the collection of Pokemon plushes behind Matsumoto during the performance.

The First Take is a YouTube channel focusing on popular or famous singers performing songs in a single take. Other singers who have previously appeared on it include LiSA, Hoshimachi Suisei, and Stray Kids. The First Take likely invited Matsumoto to sing the first Pokemon opening due to Ash leaving the show to make way for the new series.

resident evil stickers lady dimitrescu lickers

Capcom released car signs and car sign stickers warning people about familiar threats from the Resident Evil series. You will be able to purchase them via the Capcom store from March 21, 2023. There is a total of six different car signs and car sign stickers that you can purchase. Some feature familiar Resident Evil enemies like Lady Dimitrescu and Lickers.

Car signs will cost 1,430 JPY ($10.75) and stickers will cost 880 JPY ($6.60). Each design will come as a sign or a sticker. The difference between the two is that the car signs come with a suction back so that you can reuse it. Meanwhile, the stickers are single-use, since the adhesive back will lose its stickiness if you peel it off.

The designs are:

  • Attention Tofu Crash
  • Baby in Car
  • Drive Recorder
  • Safe Drive
  • Take Care of Falling Objects
  • Watch Your Head

resident evil car signs stickers

The designs all contain tongue-in-cheek references to Resident Evil. For example, the Safe Drive sticker depicts a helicopter, despite Capcom-made helicopters being an online meme for how easily they are destroyed. The Watch Your Head sticker shows Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, whereas the Take Care of Falling Objects sticker shows a Licker.

The Resident Evil car signs and car sign stickers will appear in the Capcom store from March 21, 2023. They will also be available from the same date in physical Capcom stores.

While PQube was going to handle its release back when it was supposed to debut in 2018, Future Tech Lab is behind it now. It will be $28.99, though there is a 10% pre-order discount in effect knocking the price down to $26.09 until launch day.

Song of Memories is a romantic visual novel about six girls who are capable of performing music to help fight back against a virus. It is known for having 30 songs performed by the heroines. The Switch version of Song of Memories was canceled in January 2019. At the time, PQube noted it couldn't "be brought to a functioning level of quality."

This makes the third platform the visual novel with rhythm game and light RPG elements is available on. It first showed up on the PC. A PlayStation 4 port followed. At the moment, the version on Steam is temporarily 70% off until March 23, 2023. It's $11.99 until then.

Song of Memories will come to the Nintendo Switch on March 23, 2023. People can find it on the PS4 and PC now.

When the 6.5 update arrives, Susannah Manatt will get a Honkai Impact 3rd Valkyrie Quicksand battlesuit, and here's how it looks.

The 6.5 Honkai Impact 3rd is on the way, and with it will come the Susannah Manatt Valkyrie Quicksand battlesuit. She will be a new SP-rank character people can get. She will be a Qua-type character with a "dancing diva" inspiration. She'll also be the latest chakram unit to join the cast. HoYoVerse shared a preview video with members of the team discussing her design.

Susannah showed up in the Honkai Impact 3rd comic. She's a Schicksal Phosdjinns Squad Valkyrie alongside Matilla and Zofia. She also comes from an affluent family who is involved with gems and precious stones, which people can see on her battlesuit and chakram.

During the presentation video, the character designer noted that she performs folk dance moves. These come up during attacks and apparently win animations. Her chakram can also be turned into a tambourine. Not to mention during her Ultimate, it will trigger a rhythm game where players will play a drum as she dances. Also, while she wields chakrams, her moveset is based on Chinese two-handed swords. Attacks are designed to deal bleed damage as well.

Here's the full Honkai Impact 3rd "Susannah Valkyrie Quicksand Battlesuit Preview" presentation.

Here's How Aerith Can Grow Flowers in Midgar in Final Fantasy VII

Square Enix often shares details about Final Fantasy VII and its world on the Japanese Twitter account, and the latest tells how Aerith is able to grow flowers in Midgar. Even though she lives below the plates, she has access to a clean water source, Because of this, and the concentration of the lifestream energy within it, she's able to maintain a garden.

Here's the official announcement, complete with pictures of Aerith's flower garden at her home in the Sector 5 slums in Midgar from Final Fantasy VII Remake. The water seen from the waterfall and pond are coming from that clean water source. The abandoned church in Sector 5 also has access to it. Aerith then uses that to take care of all her plants.

Dying Light 2 Bloody Ties How To Farm Infinite Opera Tokens Carnage HallWhen game developers makes creates games in a specific genre, it can be jarring for fans when they stray from their usual path. That seems like the case when it comes to Polish developer, Techland. The Dying Light developer recently reiterated its focus and development on an unnamed fantasy RPG title. Dying Light developer diving back into its fantasy RPG There isn't a set of rules that developers follow when creating new IPs. However, companies tend to gain a reputation when it comes to their track record in development. It would be a similar case if Call of Duty developers decided to make a JRPG instead of the next first-person juggernaut. Techland recently tweeted out some concept art for a game that, as PC Gamer rightly pointed out, was announced about seven years ago. That's about the time the first concept image was shared back in 2...
