Over the weekend, Ubisoft announced about 50 different Assassin's Creed games and projects. (Editor's note: It was a lot…but not 50). Look, I can't break new ground on "the gamer chair." Ubisoft didn't give us a ton to chew on when it unveiled Assassin's Creed Red, which will follow next year's Mirage in the long-running historical fiction series, beyond the fact that it's set in Japan.      All Disney Dreamlight Valley recipes and how to cook them

There is a huge list of Disney Dreamlight Valley recipes to cook up in the peaceful life sim, making use of the vast range of ingredients on offer. Cooking up a nutritious meal can provide additional stamina, save inventory space, increase the value of produce, and help towards your Dreamlight total, so it's a worthwhile activity to participate in.

There are over 160 Disney Dreamlight Valley recipes, so it would take a long time to figure them all out alone. Some can be obtained from completing quests, such as Remy's ratatouille recipe and Minnie's picnic favourites: crudites and fish sandwiches. Others can be unlocked by trying different ingredients together. Make sure you endeavour to unlock them all, because any recipe can pop up as one of the favourite things of the day for any of the Dreamlight Valley characters, which increases friendship faster when gifted. You can also serve recipes in Remy's restaurant for Dreamlight challenges. If there's one in particular you need, they're all listed below, alongside how to cook them and the different ingredients to look out for around the valley.

All upcoming Tower of Fantasy banners

The next Tower of Fantasy banners on the schedule shed some light on which characters are coming up soon. As the open-world game has been out for quite some time in China, we have a good idea of precisely who will be in the next banner and how often they rotate. While updates are coming at a breakneck pace, it's hard to tell if the Chinese and international versions of the game will synchronise, given how far ahead they are.

These upcoming Tower of Fantasy banners seem to follow a set pattern, with some Simulacra becoming exclusively available for several banners, only to join the main roster of unlockable characters a few months afterwards. We don't exactly know when or even if Perfect World will permanently add these characters to the Gold and Black Nuclei banners in the international versions, so we'll update this guide with any confirmed details in the future.

I did a lot of talking at Gamescom, whether that be to developers or muttering to myself deliriously as I typed stuff up in the evening. Talking to devs especially is a wonderful thing, especially when you're playing their game and it resonates with you. But getting hands-on with an early portion of American Arcadia rendered me virtually silent, to the point where I had to apologise to the devs for being so quiet.

And I wasn't being rude; far from it! I was just so engrossed in the game's mixture of side-scrolling platforming and first-person puzzling. Keep this under surveillance, because I think it's going to be a real hit when it lands.

Gloomwood is, so far, a very good game, but it is also not much of a game - in the literal sense that it has launched into early access incomplete. There's currently just enough of it to play that it makes you feel both bereft and quite annoyed when it suddenly clangs its great iron doors shut in front of you. "Let me in!!" you scream, as you hammer on the silent portal. "I really like Thief! I get you! I want to throw more decapitated heads as lures!"

If you are one of those people who bases their gaming personality on liking the original Thief series, Gloomwood will have been on your radar for a while. It's a grimy, steampunk-ish stealth immersive sim with a deliberate low-poly vibe, and it picks up the abandoned Thief football to absolutely run with it. But, though the current EA build is but short, it feels like Gloomwood is aiming to punt that ball into outer space. There's so much more room to be playful and experiment than I expected, and it's so much fun that if you'd never played a stealth sim in your life I'd recommend Gloomwood. Except I wouldn't, because it feels like I'd be doing you a disservice to recommend it now, when the fun will be so quickly snatched away.

It's a very odd feeling, building a catapult all on your lonesome while watching fiery death rain down on your enemy's castle in the valley below. I suspect it's probably a similar experience to watching the carnage of Chivalry II play out from the safety of a nearby bench. The newly announced Warlander from Nier Replicant devs Toylogic certainly has the medieval setting in common with Torn Banner Studio's first-person hack and slash, but this free-to-play multiplayer warfare game is an altogether different beast. You control your warriors in third-person, for starters, and its more cartoonish visuals allow for, well, daft cataclysmic events like a flaming meteor shower to hone in on a player's position without appearing completely over the top. As it prepares to enter its first open beta later today, September 12th, I went hands on with a brief demo build to see what it was all about.

"Oh, come on!" is a phrase you hear a lot in Sunday Gold. It's often uttered by your knuckle-dusting healer Sally, and is invariably followed up by, "You havin' a laugh, mate?" and "Facking hell!" - partly because Sally is from Laaaandan and is thus obligated to speak lik' tha', innit (because how else would you know this is a game set in Laaaandan), but also because the thugs, security guards and cybernetic dogs she's often fighting in this seedy tale of corporate dystopia are some of the most frustrating enemies known to video games. The type who are seemingly resistant to every single weapon type in your arsenal, or who invariably have big, scripted healing sequences just when you're about to nail 'em.

It's a phrase I often found myself echoing while playing Sunday Gold for review, too, both during its tedious, war of attrition-style turn-based battles, and while trying to figure out some of its more obtuse puzzles. BKOM Studios have tried to fuse one too many things together in Sunday Gold, and the result is a messy, somewhat artificial blend of Deathloop's style, Invisible Inc's tension and a more action-led focus on the cerebral role-playing of Disco Elysium. There's still much to admire in its stylish visuals and atmospheric music, but I also haven't been this cross playing a video game since Felix The Reaper, and that's saying something.

Splatoon 3 Icons

Nintendo has updated its free Platinum Points Rewards lineup for the week of September 11 to 15, 2022, with a new wave of Splatoon 3 icons. Players can access the Wave 1 set of rewards from the Nintendo Switch Online app on their systems.

Check out Nintendo's announcement below.

https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1568630385315037186

The first wave of Splatoon 3 icons consists of several characters and icons from the game, as well as a selection of frames and backgrounds. From the Nintendo Switch Online app, players can check the "Missions and Rewards" menu to see available My Nintendo Platinum Points rewards. Redeeming a reward will cost a small amount of My Nintendo Platinum Points. Players can earn Platinum Points by completing "missions" detailed in the Nintendo Switch Online app. At the time of this writing, icons based on Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Kirby's Dream Buffet are also available.

When applied, custom icons will display on a player's Nintendo Profile when playing online or in the system. They're a way to expand the selection of available characters, backgrounds, and frames beyond the selection included by default with the Switch's hardware. Interested players can also redeem their Platinum Points for physical goods. On the North American Nintendo eShop, a range of Splatoon 3 goods can be had.

[gallery columns="2" ids="935326,935327" link="file"]

Players with points to spare can pick up a Splatoon 3 Splatsville shopping bag, or a sticker set replicating Splatsville graffiti art. The points can even be used to join a prize sweepstakes for more limited gear, such as a mini-sized metal locker or a rolltop backpack decked out in Splatoon 3 art.

Splatoon 3 icons are available in the My Nintendo Platinum Points exchange until September 15, 2022. The game is available on Nintendo Switch. Learn more about its single-player component here.

Splatoon 3 sales

Splatoon 3 sales are breaking records for Nintendo. According to the company, packaged and digital sales of the newly released Squid Kid shooter have surpassed 3.45 million units in just three days.

Nintendo says that that number breaks first-three-day sales records in Japan for any Nintendo Switch game in the history of the platform. Game Data Library, a site that compiles Japanese sales data, suggests that Splatoon 3's sales numbers could make that the biggest Japanese game launch ever, irrespective of platform. For the record, the biggest Switch launch ever in Japan before Splatoon 3 was Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with 3.3 million units sold in the first week.

Splatoon 2 was a particularly large hit in Japan and was the 5th best-selling Switch game in Japan even as late as March this year. With Splatoon 3 being largely similar, it's a safe bet that it would snag that audience. Splatoon 3 does pack some changes, though. In addition to two new weapon types and a number of new special weapons, it moves the locale from Inkopolis to Splatsville.

Splatcast hosts Off The Hook were replaced by the Deep Cut trio. Splatfests themselves also became three-way affairs, adding a chaotic three-team battle mode to the community-based competition. Fans got a taste of that chaos in the inaugural Splatfest World Premiere demo, which opened before launch. The community was split between teams representing Rock, Paper, and Scissors. Team Rock, fronted by Deep Cut member Shiver, won the day.

Residents of the UK will have to either tune into a different broadcast or wait a while to see the show: Nintendo UK confirmed that out of respect for the period of national mourning prompted by the recent death of Queen Elizabeth II, it will not be livestreaming the Nintendo Direct. Instead, it will be published as a video-on-demand on the Nintendo UK YouTube channel at 16:00 UK time.

According to Nintendo, the Direct will run for about 40 minutes and focus on Switch games launching "this Winter". Many anticipated Switch releases like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and Bayonetta 3 have release dates that technically put them before Winter (typically beginning in mid-December to March of the next year). Depending on how generously Nintendo chooses to interpret Winter's timing, this could mean new details for games like Witch on the Holy Night or release dates for games with unconfirmed launch windows. Those titles include the likes of Disney Speedstorm, Disney Illusion Island, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, or others. Even delayed titles like Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp might finally get a date.

There's also the specter of something new potentially coming via the next Nintendo Direct. Rumors surfaced by reporters Mike Minotti of GamesBeat and Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb suggest that The Legend of Zelda-related titles could see an update, such as Switch ports of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker.

The next Nintendo Direct is scheduled for September 13, 2022, at 07:00 PT/10:00 ET.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Shorter Cheaper 1Assassin's Creed Mirage will be a return to form for the series, in more ways than you realize. Some new details have emerge since its unveiling during the Ubisoft Forward presentation. Not only will Assassin's Creed Mirage be shorter compared to its more recent compatriots, but it'll be cheaper as well. It may also set a precedent for future games in the franchise. As revealed in an IGN interview, Assassin's Creed Mirage is a smaller and cheaper iteration. The new industry standard is $70 USD, however Mirage is set to sell for $50 USD — for the standard edition. Ubisoft is aiming for a story that'll take only 15 to 20 hours to finish, not unlike the original Assassin's Creed.   "It is a smaller Assassin's Creed project," said Marc-Alexis Côté, VP and executive producer of Assassin's Creed, in the interview. "This was conceived [and] built to celebrate the 15th anniversary. So that's why we're using our ...

Gargoyles remaster Genesis art GoliathIf you regularly watched animated shows during the 1990s, you might remember the Walt Disney Television Animation series called Gargoyles. This show boasted a darker tone than many other Disney shows at the time, which, along with the series' overall high quality, helped it gain a devoted cult following that persists to this day. Notably, the show received a 1995 tie-in game for the Sega Genesis that also garnered a fair bit of praise, albeit not as much as the animated series. Now, after over two decades, it appears that this Genesis Gargoyles game will make a major comeback in the form of a modern remaster recently announced by Disney. The original game accompanied a whole host of Disney tie-in games that came out in the '90s, mostly on the Genesis. Most of these games based themselves on Disney's classic film IPs, such as Aladdin and The Lion King, so the Gargoyles game's status as an adaptation of a TV show made it stand out.   Visuals worthy of t...

Intel Arc A770 Ray Tracing performance gamingIt's no secret that Intel's plan to launch dedicated gaming graphics card has suffered serious issues. Just a look at official presentations and the repeated language that "Arc is launching soon" over the last several months will tell you that. However, product delays are not the same thing as axing an entire market division. Everything regarding the Alchemist desktop card lineup is on track to release. That's what Intel graphics VP Raja Koduri had to say in response to recent rumors regarding Arc getting cancelled. The rumors stem from YouTube channel Moore's Law is Dead, known for leaking various specs from AMD, Nvidia, Intel, and more. Track records are important for these types of sources, and although the channel has demonstrated in the past that it has insider sources, there is plenty of controversy over the validity of Intel Arc getting cancelled.   Moore's Law is Dead claimed several weeks ago that Intel executives were considering...

Assassin's Creed Mirage Adults Only Rating Was A MistakeUbisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Mirage has not received an Adults Only rating. Yesterday, the Xbox Store page for Assassin's Creed Mirage went live, listing the upcoming Assassin's Creed game with an Adults Only rating by the ESRB. However, it turns out this was a mistake. In a statement given to Eurogamer, Ubisoft went on record denying the rating. The publisher says that Assassin's Creed Mirage is still considered Rating Pending, which is the rating given to games that have not yet been assigned a final rating by the ESRB.   This update is great news, as the alleged Adults Only rating would have included the presence of some worrying content. More specifically, the Xbox Store listing claimed that Assassin's Creed Mirage featured "Real Gambling," a classification that is separate from loot boxes and in-game casinos, which are classified as "Simulated Gambling." If a game contains Real Gambling then players can gamb...

Ubisoft Backs Out Of Nft Market Ghost Recon Breakpoint Quartz DigitsUbisoft is backtracking on its previous plans to explore the NFT market. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot gave his thoughts on various topics. Among these topics was a discussion on NFTs, the blockchain, and the publisher's involvement. Guillemot admits that his future plans are less likely to be tied to NFTs. The CEO describes Ubisoft as being in "research mode" as it tries to figure out how the blockchain can benefit players. He admits that Ubisoft did not do a good job of explaining to consumers that it was researching how effective NFTs could be. Instead of saying that it was working on NFTs, Guillemot wishes he had waited until Ubisoft could deliver something that provides a "real benefit."   The CEO defends Ubisoft's actions by drawing comparisons to other times the publisher experimented with new technology. He brings up Ubisoft's involvement with virtual reality and the Nintendo Wii as examples of...
