PCGamesN Wednesday, March 5, 2025 12:19 PM ![]() Another month has passed, and the movers and shakers in the Steam Deck most played games provide a few shocks, including Monster Hunter Wilds barrelling towards the top ten despite its poor performance. The biggest surprise is the influx of newly released triple-A games on the list, suggesting that Steam Deck owners are comfortable with trying to run the latest games on the handheld, even if performance isn't ideal. Despite being the best handheld gaming PC for most gamers, the Steam Deck is undeniably falling down the pecking order when it comes to overall system power - as we saw in our Asus ROG Ally X review and Lenovo Legion Go review, other options have far more powerful processors. This, you might expect, would contribute to a lessening interest in big, graphically intense games being played regularly on the handheld, but instead they are thriving. Then again, things do feel worse now. Loot boxes, microtransactions, the pressure to log in every day and claim 'rewards.' For me personally, one of the greatest tragedies in modern shooters is the death of aesthetics. Nvidia took the wraps off its latest mid-range gaming GPU at the CES 2025 trade show on January 6 and, despite it having specs that largely align with the RTX 4070, Nvidia claimed this new GPU could offer the performance of an RTX 4090. However, in our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 review, we found this claim didn't hold up to much scrutiny. Yes, the RTX 5070 can ostensibly beat the RTX 4090 in games such as Cyberpunk 2077, but it can only do it by using multi frame gen, a new tech from Nvidia that uses AI to insert up to three AI-generated frames between each pair of genuinely rendered frames. It will show up again on March 7, 2025, following it previously having a March 2025 rerelease window. If you happen to visit an arcade in the region, you could get a chance to win one again.
Previously, we saw this particular Slime toy show up in November 2022. It features a motion sensor in one of its front "bubbles" that alerts it to nearby movement. If you have batteries in it and turn the switch on, it will then "run away," in a nod to that type of enemy's behavior in the games.
We actually have an idea of how this Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Sensor Figure will work, due to it being a rerelease of a past item. PA Channel shared footage of the toy reacting to movement. While at the beginning of the video we see it responding to someone walking, at the two minute mark we it responding to movement from an Erdrick's Sword replica and zipping around a tabletop as a result.
The Liquid Metal Slime is a popular figure, and it often ends up being used for more unusual pieces of Dragon Quest merchandise. In 2024, this happened twice. In one case, it showed up as a floor cleaner that would zip around and help tidy up a house. Taito also revealed a PC mouse based on it. It also joined the Square Enix Metallic Monsters Gallery of figures, and you can get it alone or in a bundle with a Metal Slime and Metal King Slime.
The Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Sensor Figure will appear in Japanese arcades starting on March 7, 2025.

More layoffs have been confirmed at Sony, as reports came in that the company fired multiple staff members from PlayStation support studio Visual Arts. It's currently unknown how many people have been affected and let go from their positions. [Thanks, Kotaku!]
Confirmation on the Visual Arts layoffs came from posts from the affected staff on LinkedIn. Abby LeMaster, a former project manager at the studio who now works for Riot, expressed her condolences while sharing several of these posts on her feed. Many of the affected staff appear to have been working with Bend Studio on its recently canceled live service game, widely believed to be a God of War spin-off. However, the layoffs appear to be broader than these projects.
These layoffs come during a major restructure at PlayStation, even outside Visual Arts. As well as recent reorganization in management following the departure of Jim Ryan, efforts are being made to cut back increasing budgets. A big part of these changes have seen the company's twelve in-development live service games severely cut back following the failure of Concord. The developer of that game was also closed down in October 2024.
Layoffs continue to be an ongoing problem within the games industry. Even the success of Marvel Rivals failed to stop staff at NetEase Games facing layoffs. The entire US team, who helped complete development of the base game, appears to have been axed.
It is unknown if these layoffs will affect development of other Sony games. Current known first-party games in development include Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, and the new Naughty Dog game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

Ahead of the Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster debut on March 6, 2025, Konami shared a trailer teasing the fateful meeting between Tir McDohl and Leknaat at the outset of the original game. This segment is taken from the earliest moments of the first entry and shows their first meeting at which she provides the Scarlet Moon Empire predictions and senses his possible path. It appears alongside celebratory launch art from series character designer Junko Kawano.
First, here's the scene in which Tir and Leknaat meet in Suikoden HD Remaster. It starts with him just entering to gather the predictions for Emperor Barbarossa, which she prepared for him. She then explains that while she is an oracle and can see things to come, that the future can be changed. She then tells Tir that he'll have a cross to bear moving forward and will need to make difficult choices to do what is right. She ends their meeting by saying that she hopes to see him, not because it is destined, but because she wants to.
Leknaat and her apprentice Luc are major recurring characters in the Suikoden series, and both appear prominently in both Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster.
The art from Junko Kawano also depicts a moment from the earliest hours of Suikoden HD Remaster. In it, we see Tir McDohl being taken by his father, General Teo, to meet Emperor Barbarossa and Court Mage Windy.

Square Enix shared updates for each of the six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games, with each of the PC versions on Steam patched on March 5, 2025. In many cases, it involves some minor bug fixes or known issues addressed. However, FFIII and FFVI both feature some bigger changes too. [Thanks, Wario64!]
One of the issues is a universal one that is applied to every game. The mini-map on/off setting was broken in every game. Now it will work as intended. There are also general "improvements" to the UI and control schemes across the board. Apparently every game also had a possible progression issue due to certain inputs or circumstances or with regards to achievements, and those are fixed. The original game and FFII experienced the fewest changes.
The other Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster PC games experienced more notable additions or alterations after Square Enix patched them on Steam. So in FFIII, you can now boost your Job Level for the first time. The companion characters dialogue ended up being fixed too. You won't lose Float in dungeons when moving from one room or area to another, so it will last as long as it is supposed to, in FFIV. When you play FFV, you'll now see when weapons can be either enchanted or two-handed ones.
FFVI featured some of the most changes. However, while there is an addition involving EXP to ensure characters who rejoin the party after story-based absences stay on-par with current allies. The event between Celes and Cid ended up being addressed too. There was also a major fix regarding equipment effects that weren't showing up if a character was knocked out.
The six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games are available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices. The Switch and PS4 versions also appeared physically.

Sony released a new firmware update for the PS3. This is despite the console being discontinued in 2016.
While Sony's site has limited information on what the new PS3 update contains, there are some brief notes about what to expect from the firmware. However, it is likely to be a simply update to the system's Blu-Ray encryption key. This is due to a note saying that users are required to install Version 4.92 in order to continue playing Blu-Ray discs. Other than this, the update exists to "improve system performance" although Sony has not elaborated on this further.
It may seem strange for the PS3 to receive a new update nearly 20 years after its release, and almost 10 years after its discontinuation in 2016. However, the encryption key needs to be renewed on an annual basis in order to continue playing Blu-Ray discs. This only affects standard Blu-Ray releases and does not affect PS3 games. This is only an issue on the PS3 as the PS4 and PS5 both automatically update their encryption keys.
While Sony are still updating a past system, they've also opened a new program that looks to the future. The PlayStation beta program recently opened, allowing those who sign up to playtest upcoming PS5 games. New system features will also be included in these playtests.
The new PS3 update can be downloaded now, despite the system being discontinued in 2016.

We have an update on the Frieren anime, but it is that it will be a while before we see more, as season 2 won't start until January 2026. There's no exact date yet, but it will be a part of the upcoming Winter season. The first season of the show is available to stream now via Crunchyroll. The last volume of the manga to appear in English was the twelfth one on February 11, 2025.
Season 2 of the show will be on Nippon Television. That's where the first season aired in Japan as well. There aren't any details about arcs that will be covered. The key visual is available though, and it shows Frieren and Fern with Stark. The official social media account also shared a teaser with plush of the elf. Crunchyroll hasn't stated if the second season will appear there yet.
Here are the teaser images:

While it will be a while before we see season 2 of the Frieren anime, it is still going to very much be an active presence in our lives. When 2025 began, it brought with it a PSO2 New Genesis crossover with the series. There have been a number of figures, such as Nendoroids. Even a brief light novel was included with volume 12 of the manga in Japan.
Speaking of the Frieren manga, it is still running. Viz Media offers the new chapters in English as they release, with the last one being 140. However, it will be some time before more appears, as the series is in the midst of an indefinite hiatus. A new English volume is on the horizon though, as the thirteenth one debuts on May 13, 2025.
Season 2 of the Frieren anime will start in January 2026. The first season is available now via Crunchyroll. Volume 12 of the manga is out worldwide, and volume 13 of Frieren will debut in English on May 13, 2025.

Sega Plaza has announced the arrival of a new figure of Kaworu Nagisa holding the spear of Longinus that is based on his appearance in the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. The new Kaworu figure is set to appear as a crane game prize in Japan sometime in Summer 2025.
The figure depicts Kaworu wearing the two-tone light purple plugsuit that he wears during the events of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, as the secondary pilot of the Evangelion Unit 13. In the figure, Kaworu is holding the spear of Longinus on his left hand, with his right hand extended in invitation. The base seems to be a piece of red debris with a red metal beam behind Kaworu.
You can check out the new Rebuild of Evangelion figure of Kaworu in more detail here:
The latest figure belongs to Sega's Luminasta series of toys, which has seen the release of other Rebuild of Evangelion figures such as a black plugsuit Rei Ayanami figure that appeared in Winter 2024 in Japan.

The Suikoden series went from a collection of games that fans of JRPGs revered to ones that ended up being acknowledged for their unique nature and often excellence by everyone. Unfortunately, it's also been far too long since Konami acknowledge the IP with a new entry or revival or an old one. 2025 marks the return of the first two installments with Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars. While they might not be the biggest or most impressive remasters out there, they do a great job of restoring two deserving titles.
In a way, it's quite fitting that both of these JRPGs are in this Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster, as these two games are so closely linked. So much so that the hero of the first and many of the supporting cast returns for the sequel. All of the mainline games fit into the same timeline, and the second game takes place three years after the first. So we can see the effect of political events and decisions.
Suikoden follows Tir McDohl, a young man who is the son of Scarlet Moon Empire general Teo McDohl. The game begins with him being introduced to Emperor Barbarossa Rugner and joining his service as his father departs on a mission. However, on his very first mission, Tir gets a glimpse at the despicable behavior of the empire and finds himself inheriting the one of the 27 True Runes. This makes him a target for the army and a fugitive. As he escapes, he falls in with the Liberation Army. This leads to him joining and building it up by recruiting the 108 Stars of Destiny.
Similarly, Suikoden 2 follows Riou. He and his friend Jowy are a part of the Highland Kingdom's Unicorn Youth Brigade. A possible peace is broken when Highland's Prince Luca Blight works with the group's commander to slaughter all to push a war with the City-States of Jowston. Riou and Jowy are able to escape. Both also find themselves caught up in a growing war, with Riou going on to lead and recruit for a rebel force hoping to bring peace to the region while stopping Blight.

Each of these games tends to follow a sort of pattern. At their hearts, both games in the Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster collection are traditional, turn-based RPGs. Once you get to the point at which you become leader of an army and acquire a castle, you'll be able to head out into the world to recruit people. These folks may have certain conditions you have to meet to get them to join. In some cases, they might join automatically as the story continues or not be ready to be part until either you hit a certain plot point or your castle expands after hitting a certain milestone. At other times, you may need to follow certain steps or achieve certain goals. I feel there will always come a point at which you sort of recognize that you've done everything you can do for the moment and need to return to the story, at which point you can get more people on your side.
Battles are fairly typical, turn-based affairs. You have a party of up to six, with three folks in front and three in back. (There are some anomaly characters that will take up two spots.) Weapons dictate proper placement, as they have certain ranges like short, medium, or long, and short-range ones must be in the front row. Magic is tied to Runes, with Rune shards being able to be tied to weapons and Orbs being set to people. As you use characters and perform magic different tiers of Rune abilities open up. There are also occasionally more strategic affairs, though those are infrequent and pop up at specific spots in the story.

I will say that while there are some elements you'd expect in a HD remaster, there are some features oddly absent or that aren't exactly as helpful as you'd expect in these Suikoden games. There are three difficulty options to select at the start, which is handy! You can also dash right away, and that is incredibly helpful. When you enter battles, you can tap a button to increase the speed of the fight or turn autobattle on and off without going through the menu. It also naturally looks quite crisp and nice, what with being in HD, and the new character portraits are beautiful without feeling out of place. The conversation log is one of my favorite new additions, as I absolutely get caught up in the recruiting efforts. This means if you did a lot of backtracking, you might forget where you were supposed to meet up next. What do I do? I check the log and see where someone told me to go. I'm set.
However, there are areas in which I feel like Konami could have done more. There's an autosave now, but it is incredibly infrequent. For example, it doesn't kick in when you enter a town/dungeon, which would have been smart! Instead, it will happen at odd or notable times. For those aware of the series, it isn't helpful for the Castle of Toran autosave to happen on the screen right when you enter the room where the save point before the boss is! An adjustment to modernize the save system and not tie it to inns would have been welcome as well. So would some controller rebinding options. It's great we can dash right away! I do wish there'd been a toggle option for that in the options, so you don't have to constantly hold the button down.
But the main goals here are that Suikoden 1 and 2 are back again, and this HD Remaster release revives both games in a comfortable way. It makes sure they look pretty and run well. I was especially shocked at how good both games looked, as the spritework really stands out without it feeling like some SNES games where you can see how the CRT effect benefited its appearance. I especially loved moments when there would be layered elements, like fog in a dungeon or clouds in a sky, because it's executed so well. The new character portraits, which I mentioned earlier, are also quite a boon. It helps add more personality to these supporting cast members who could sometimes be quite personable even if they aren't major players.
Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster might not have earth-shattering additions, but the graphical updates and quality of life adjustments that are here make it a joy to return to these fantastic JRPGs. Both games are a delight to play on the Switch. There's a charm here that I longed for when I played Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, and I'm delighted to think how much joy they'll bring others. These are fantastic games, and I hope for further preservation efforts for other entries from Konami.
Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will come to the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on March 6, 2025. The original games appeared on the PlayStation worldwide. They also appeared together in a collection on the PSP in Japan.

This week's Worldsoul: Undermine Explorer quest gives you the task to Dance with Denizens of Undermine, however, the quest appears to be slightly bugged as you can't just dance with any denizen. Thankfully we've found out how to complete the Dance with Denizens of Undermine in World of Warcraft for the Worldsoul quest.
![]()
Where to go to Dance with Denizens of Undermine for Worldsoul quest
The best place to complete the Dance with Denizens of Undermine for the Worldsoul: Undermine Explorer quest is just northeast of the Intercontinental Hotel, where there are a few denizens patrolling around near various vendor carts and tents on the side of the road. Once here, simply /dance and the Denizens of Undermine in the area will walk up to you and begin dancing with you as well, until you complete the objective which is to dance with three different denizens. You don't even have to move from this location and can dance with all three of them here, which I recommend. It may take a couple of minutes, but just stand there dancing and you will get it.
The exact coordinates to Dance with Denizens of Undermine are in the Undermine at X: 46.92, Y: 40.83. You will see a few Undermine Denizens here standing next to an umbrella. This is the only location you will need to /dance to complete this quest, just be patient.
Unfortunately, it seems just walking up to Denizens of Undermine and trying to /dance with them will not complete this quest. Even though the Intercontinental Hotel has plenty of Denizens in it ready to dance, it doesn't look like dancing with them will complete this objective either. However, you can get all three dances completed to complete this objective by using the /dance command at the location referenced above just northeast of the hotel.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster 1-6 collection has been available to play on Steam since they were added between 2021 and 2022, but that hasn't stopped them from receiving sporadic updates over the years.
The latest of these surprise updates comes on March 5, featuring small tweaks for each of the Pixel Remaster titles, more than a full year after the last one in February 2024. All six games have received minor bug fixes, as well as the following specific updates for each game:

Final Fantasy I & II
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
It's nice to see these beautiful little remasters getting some care and attention so long after their initial releases (the first Final Fantasy is a whole four years older than me, and I could certainly use some looking after). The changes made can only enhance how enjoyable and nostalgic each game is.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is finally set to release on March 20 after a tumultuous development.
The game faced multiple delays and criticism in Japan in the months leading up to its official launch. Now, as March 20 approaches, it will be available worldwide on PC, Xbox, and PS5, though at different times depending on the region.
While the official release date is March 20, some players will get access a day earlier on March 19 due to Ubisoft's release schedule. However, for most players, the game will be available on March 20.
Here's everything you need to know about the Assassin's Creed Shadows release times.
AC Shadows exact release time and date by region
I highly recommend not skimming over the table below. The times vary significantly depending on the country and platform. Whether you're playing on consoles, Steam, or Ubisoft Connect, the difference in access times can be several hours. So, pay close attention to the details and check the city closest to your location if yours isn't listed, along with the exact platform you're using.
Here are all the official Assassin's Creed Shadows release dates and times by region and platform.
Swipe or scroll horizontally to see the full table.
AC Shadows official pre-load times
Here are all the official Assassin's Creed Shadows pre-load times. Swipe or scroll horizontally to see the full table.
To preload AC Shadows, you must have purchased it before release. Preloading allows you to download the game files ahead of time so that everything is ready once the game officially launches.
However, if you try to launch the game before it's available, you'll likely run into an issue. You might not be able to click "Play," or you may get an error screen saying the game isn't available yet, the servers are offline, or something similar. This is normal, and it just means you have to wait for the official release time. If you buy the game after release, you'll simply download it and be able to play right away.
To start preloading, check if your platform has automatic preloads enabled. If not, go to your platform's store when preload time arrives and manually download the game.
Ubisoft may also push an update before launch, especially if there's a Day 1 patch. While this hasn't been confirmed for Assassin's Creed Shadows, it's common for major releases. So, don't be surprised if you need to download extra files a few hours or days before the game officially goes live.

No matter if you are a new player or a Victory Crown collector looking to continue a win streak, very few things in Fortnite will be as game-changing as getting your hands on a Legendary item early on. But where exactly can you find them?
Here's how to find (and a few guaranteed ways to get) Legendary items in Fortnite.
How to find and get Legendary Items in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2
![]()
You can get Legendary items in Fortnite by killing players carrying them and opening chests all over the Island. If you are not among the RNG's favorites, you can also get Legendary weapons by exchanging Dill Bits at any Black Market. The Chapter 6 Season 2 map features a total of three markets, with each offering the following selection of Legendaries. Each of the below will cost one Dill Bit.
You can check out the locations of all the markets in the image below, as well as how to get the Dill Bits needed to buy the weapons by heading further down.
![]()
As all of the markets will be located underground, it's also not uncommon to see players camping in their vicinity to get easy bits (and hopefully some Mythics). So get ready before going in. If on a squad, it will also not hurt to have a few of your teammates scout the area beforehand and keep watch as you make the purchases.
How to get Dill Bits in Fortnite
![]()
Unless you eliminate a player carrying it or loot the item amidst a firefight, the only way to get Dill Bits in Fortnite is by opening vaults and then grabbing it from their display cases. Each vault will house one bit and can only be opened by using Thermite. You can check out the locations of all of them below:

Keep in mind that if you choose to go for the Crime City vault, Fletcher Kane will spawn together with the usual guards looking to get in your way. To make quick work of the boss and get both his Mythic Baron's Double Down Pistol and the Unstoppable Medallion, take a look at our How to defeat Fletcher Kane in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2 guide.

As Monster Hunter Wild players progress through the game and reach the endgame, they're starting to realize that the real challenge after finishing the main story isn't tougher monsters or more hunts.
Many MH Wilds players are now sharing online that the most frustrating part of the endgame is actually fishing. This is largely due to a side questline where Kanya tasks players with catching different fish in exchange for better bait.
Fishing in Monster Hunter Wilds is mainly used to gather materials, especially for meals that give stat boosts for monster fights.
Monster Hunter Wilds' fishing is taking frustrating players
The real issue for most players is that these side quests require actual fishing with a rod instead of using nets. While nets allow players to farm fish quickly by catching multiple at once, the quests demand that players fish with a rod, even though this isn't explicitly mentioned in the quest's requirements.
But the biggest frustration comes from the rarity of some fish, like the Gravid Bowfin, which only spawns under specific conditions. Players report spending hours trying to catch certain fish just to complete these quests.
"Fishing is harder than battles," one player said. "I will never forgive that woman for putting me through that," another one added, referring to Kanya, the NPC who gives these fishing side quests to players.
They also expressed their frustration with being forced to fish to complete these quests instead of being able to use the net, which captures several fish at once.
"[It] sucks that the net is literally 100 times faster and easier. Fishing is basically pointless," a frustrated player wrote. "Three of my 30+ hours were spent trying to find/catch a pointy blue nautilus…that's 1/10th of my playtime," another one added.
And it seems the key pain of MH Wilds players is catching the Gravid Bowfin.
"Most hated quests in the whole game," a player wrote sharing a screenshot of the Fishing For Flavor quest, where you have to catch a Bowfin. "Getting that Gravid Bowfin took the longest time to fish out," another player added.
Those who simply can't catch it, check out our Gravid Bowfin fishing guide.

In the Yian Kut-Ku fight, nearly every trap is a valuable asset, so go ahead and load up with whatever you've got. You will be given some materials upon mission start, including First Aid Meds, Luring Pods, and Large Dung Pods. Use the Large Dung Pods to scare the other Yian Kut-Kus away. Remember, you only need to focus on one target to complete this event quest. You can use the following attacks, Status Effects, and equipment to pinpoint Yian Kut-Ku's weaknesses:
It's best to hit the Yian-Kut Ku's mouth to deal the most damage. You can also shoot for its head, which is breakable. While on the defensive, watch out for its fiery and ground attacks. This monster will often perform a high-damaging strike in a straight line, so make sure to time your dodges right.

All possible Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo event quest rewards
By the mission's end, you can expect the following rewards:
It should be noted that some rewards have lower chances of dropping than others. For example, the Bird Wyvern Gem may not drop initially due to its high rarity. If you earned the Mimiphyta Ticket, be sure to go to the Smithy to gain a special item. You'll see a new armor set with the Mimiphyta α, providing you with 36 Defense.

Ruanga is a key figure in the "One Last Drink" quest in Avowed. She is one of Captain Ngunu's old crew members, and you have to try to recruit her to come have a drink with the captain.
However, Ruanga is located at the Abandoned Mine, which is seemingly impossible to access in Shatterscarp. Find out how to reach Ruanga in the guide below.
How to get into the Abandoned Mine in Avowed
The Abandoned Mine is located just to the north of Thirdborn in Shatterscarp. However, the text of the location on the map is inside the large mountain that takes up a huge chunk of the central part of the region. You can try to enter the Abandoned Mine from all directions, including from the south near Thirdborn and all the way to the north from Shark's Teeth. However, these endeavors will be fruitless, as the mine can only be entered through one, specific way.
Your only way into the mine is through a small crevice inside the mountain. This crevice is located on the western side of the Abandoned Mine text on your map. Follow the steps below to reach the crevice and enter the mine:
![]()
You can see exactly where the crevice to get into the Abandoned Mine is located by looking at the map screenshot below. Just go exactly where our blue character arrow is, and you'll be standing right in front of it.
![]()
Once you're inside the Abandoned Mine, Ruanga isn't out in the open waiting for you. You'll have to go and find her, which isn't as easy as it sounds since you're only given a large quest area to search through instead of a specific quest marker to follow.
How to find Ruanga in Avowed
Inside the Abandoned Mine, walk forward from the cave to start climbing on some wooden scaffolding. Keep going until you're able to stand on some planks, and then turn to the west to find a couple of small cave entrances.
Ruanga is located in the larger of the cave entrances and once you get close enough, you're given a quest marker on your HUD to easily follow. Inside Ruanga's cave, speak to her to progress the One Last Drink side quest in Avowed.
![]()
As you'll soon learn, though, Ruanga can't be convinced to reunite with Captain Ngunu, as she thinks she's trying to kill her and the rest of his former crew. This isn't the last time you can speak with Ruanga, however, as she can play a huge part in the ending to One Last Drink. You can read about how to use Ruanga further and all the possible endings to One Last Drink in our complete quest guide. Suffice it to say, though, nothing is as it seems in this Avowed side quest.
After speaking with Ruanga, it's highly recommended to stick around and explore the Abandoned Mine. You can find some nice rewards around the location, including a Fragment of Starmetal that's used to start or progress the Forged of Star-Stuff side quest. This quest can earn you one of the best weapons in Avowed, so it's worth picking up the Fragment of Starmetal here to ensure you don't have to come back and scale the Abandoned Mine again.
Aside from that, though, the only time you'll have to come back to the Abandoned Mine is to potentially speak with Ruanga again during the One Last Drink quest. If you do have to come back, at least you know the way to get there.

The second half of Wuthering Waves 2.1 will begin on March 6, 2025, at 10 am (server time) and Kuro Games has finally revealed all the banners for this half. This includes the featured 4-star Resonators and the signature weapons that will receive a drop-rate boost for a limited time.
You can find all the details about the upcoming banners in this article.

Brant and Changli's banners will be released on March 6, 2025, at 10 am (server time) and available for three weeks. According to the official announcement, here is a list of all the characters who will be featured on the banners during the second half of version 2.1:
Brant will finally make his long-awaited debut. He is a pretty solid support unit that can provide Fusion DMG and Resonance Skill DMG bonuses, making him a great choice to pair with characters like Changli. Speaking of which, Changli will also get her first rerun in this half of Wuthering Waves 2.1.
As for the 4-star characters, Taoqi is not worth getting unless you like her, but Youhu and Mortefi are solid support and sub-DPS units so you can try to get their copies.
Weapons

The weapon banners in the second half will feature the following items:
Unflicking Valor is a new 5-star Sword and Brant's signature weapon. While it is a solid weapon for him, using it on other characters is not advised. You can also try your luck on the other weapon banner to pull Changli's signature weapon - Blazing Brilliance. It is one of the best Swords in the game because of its high Crit DMG bonus and passive effects.
The 4-star weapon line-up is decent and can be a viable option if you're lacking good weapons.

Even though FragPunk was all set for a global launch on PC and consoles, things took a turn just two days before its release. We're here to explain the reasoning behind the FragPunk console delay and what to expect for pre-orders.
FragPunk console release delay, explained
According to the FragPunk team's announcement, the console release was delayed due to 'unexpected technical challenges in optimization and adaptation.' The issue became noticeable during a compliance testing process, ultimately leading to the delay. So, to guarantee a better user-friendly experience, the team needs a bit more time to work out the console's kinks.
![]()
It isn't clear when this 5v5 hero shooter will launch on consoles; however, the post does indicate that it will have the game 'into your hands as soon as possible.' Because of this change, compensations for Xbox and PlayStation players will start to roll out. In particular, Season 1 rewards and any other future content will be available to these specific users once the console release drops. This includes cosmetics, currency, and experience points.
Cancellations are in effect for those who pre-ordered FragPunk on consoles, and they will automatically receive a refund. You'll get an additional $10 in in-game currency to compensate for this cancellation.
Pre-order bonuses, like the FragPunk Pioneer Pack Plus, will now be accessible in a 'time-limited way' just after the console launch. Initially, Pioneer Pack Plus was supposed to be permanently removed from the store, but this has changed with the delay. This bundle would have rewarded players with platform-exclusive content, such as weapon skins, stickers, and charms.
Although console players won't have access to Fragpunk, the game will still be released on PC on March 6. During this time, the team continues to work on the Xbox and PlayStation performance to hopefully launch the game sooner rather than later.

Bungie has already shown what new Perks will be coming to the Artifact in Destiny 2's second Act of Heresy. The game is about to get great for trace rifle fans, and the weapons should even work well with existing Arc setups, thanks to all those great Arc trace rifles.
Each Destiny 2 Episode (like Seasons before) gives players an Artifact to level throughout the content stretch. While the Artifacts typically have some narrative significance to what's happening during the Episode, the more direct benefit of these items is the assortment of Artifact Perks offered. Each Artifact starts with five columns and five rows of Perks, with players working their way from the left to right side. As the Episode progresses, new rows of Perks are added, giving even more variety.
The Artifact Perks players started Heresy with were Arc-dominant with some options for Void and Strand as well. Now, trace rifles will get some time in the sun, which might influence what you decide to bring into your next Raid or Dungeon.
All in on trace rifles
![]()
The Artifact Perks are mostly centered around Trace rifles, making a compelling case for anyone looking to use the new Lodestar Exotic to get the best of both worlds between the first Act's Arc Perks and the upcoming trace rifle Perks. The new Perks are also strong enough to make Microcosm a serious consideration for boss damage, as it oddly benefits from being a Kinetic weapon.
How do these Artifact Perks shake up the meta?
![]()
As previously mentioned, these new Artifact Perks can mix quite well with many of the Arc Perks from the first Act. Specifically, if players want to stick with an Arc build, the second column of Artifact Perks only offers Overclock and Load. In Act II, Beam Medic will supplement the column nicely, allowing an Arc trace rifle like Lodestar or the new Guardian Games reward to shine.
The same can be said for the fourth column, where Arc builds are only benefitting from Flashover. Harsh Refraction can help pick up some slack on damage, especially if Guardians weren't making use of Horde Shuttle or Maligned Harvest. That said, even if players don't want to run Arc, Harsh Refraction seems like a no-brainer regardless of the Subclass you're running, so long as you're using a trace rifle matching the element of your Super.
If a trace rifle can become an integral part of nearly any elemental build, and reap benefits from Artifact Perks that not only heal players but increase damage, why not swap out that heavy machine gun for Overload Trace Rifles, too? After all, the Artifact Perks only stick around until the end of an Episode, and alongside all of those other buffs, it sounds like some traces will be able to make short work of Champions. Plus, have a little fun playing laser tag while it lasts, who knows when trace rifles will get this much attention again.

Finally, the wait is over. It is time for PC players to enjoy a version of GTA 5 that actually takes advantage of several modern technologies, loads faster, and runs smoothly. But if you are looking to get the most out of it, here are the best settings for GTA 5 Enhanced Edition.
What are the best settings for GTA 5 Enhanced edition?
![]()
Here are what we have found to be the best settings to get the most out of GTA 5 Enchaned edition on your PC.
Naturally, if you find that your game is not running as smoothly as it should or you are having random slowdowns, you should definitely try to tweak a few of these settings. In particular, the Quality of Grass, Water, and Shadow do have quite a bit of impact on performance and, overall, do not make a lot of difference, visually. Try to switch them to "Normal" to see if that improves things.
Also, we recommend playing around with Frame Limit if you are having issues with stuttering. While that won't really fix it, it can reduce some of the overall problems. Also, try to lower the refresh rate, if you have a 120hz monitor, try putting it at 60hz and capping the Frame at around 72 or a close enough value. That should reduce some of that stuttering, at least until Rockstar can go in and fix some of the performance problems.
Minimum and recommended requirements for GTA 5 Enhanced edition
Naturally, you should keep in mind the minimum and recommended PC requirements for GTA 5 before you go in and ask too much from your computer.

Here are the minimum PC requirements:
If you want to take full advantage of the latest features of the Enhanced edition, here are the recommended PC Requirements:
Rockstar is hopefully working to fix some of the initial stuttering and performance issues that people have noticed, so in the future the game should be able to take advantage even of a less powerful PC.

Few things are more fun to me than cute, relaxing survival games like Vexlands. Sure, I'm all for epic medieval fantasy adventure games and complex puzzle games here and there, but sometimes, I just want to sit back and chill for a few hours.
I was first introduced to a Vexlands preview during a stressful time when I desperately needed relaxation. Going into it, I was familiar with its mix of casual survival mechanics and its more adventurous sides with dungeon-crawling elements and the overworld's cursed lands. I was immediately interested in how this combination could make exploration more complex while still giving me those chill vibes I craved.
Vexlands' core gameplay loop is simplistic yet effective. You start with a coin, unlock a land hex, and open treasure chests for loot. Shortly after, you unlock a Selling Shack, giving you your primary money-making source throughout your playthrough. You then get your workbench and some resources, setting you on the path to acquiring your first tool and beginning the first of many instances of resource gathering. Rinse and repeat for as long as you'd like.
![]()
Along the way, you'll unlock new blueprints for structures and tools to create, from important functional items to a decor planner for making your island look pretty. You'll also encounter dungeons, mines for additional resource-gathering, and other miscellaneous landmarks to spice things up. Oh, and be prepared for plenty of naturally generated rocks and stone carvings to randomly appear when you open a new land hex. They look cool even if they occasionally get in the way of building.
Right away, I could tell Vexlands was precisely what I was looking for. Within the first hour alone, I made solid headway into unlocking a good chunk of my first island, familiarizing myself with several crafting stations that worked together to help me progress, and even completed my first dungeon. None of it was necessarily complex — if anything, it's quite straightforward — but that's what made the game so charming. It's easy to turn your brain off, collect resources, and witness the fruits of your labor as you sell your items for lots of money.
![]()
However, this comes at the cost of the game's complexity. While I can tell Apogee has a ton of plans for new additions throughout Vexlands' development phase, the iteration I played was quite simplistic, with three underground areas, a large plains biome, and a maximum of five levels per skill. There were a few gameplay mechanics to spice things up, most notably a region that required vacuuming away toxic fumes, but there wasn't much variety beyond this. The core gameplay loop remained unchanged, even in the preview's endgame.
At the same time, I didn't consider this an entirely bad thing. There are many directions Apogee can shift Vexlands for the better (or worse) with its future content updates, especially with more planned throughout 2025, leaving me with lingering curiosity about what's in store. The door is wide open for new quests, enemies, maps, and more to appear over time.
The features currently present also leave room for speculation. Although similar games within the cutesy survival genre take a more resource management-focused approach, Vexlands ventures beyond this by introducing mechanics like the museum, a quest log, and NPC storylines. Since there's not much substance to these in the game's early stages, I'm left interested in knowing what may come in the future.
![]()
As for its core mechanics, they're about what I expected. Combat is straightforward enough, with you starting with a sword and unlocking a ranged option later. I mostly fought slimes, but occasional skeletons are a little tough to fight if you're not expecting them. Resource gathering is a little more complex if you get into farming and beehive farming, but you'll mostly resort to hitting trees and rocks with basic tools. There's also fishing, which is quite fun and relaxing. Most of Vexlands' current tools and features are fairly basic and easy to grasp, making this an overall peaceful experience.
Even its surface-level details, like visuals and music, helped turn an occasionally frustrating genre into one I comfortably spent hours playing without realizing. I never felt the urge to min-max any of what I was doing, and I attribute a large part of that to its calming, serene music and adorable pixelated graphics. What can I say? I'm a sucker for cute games. There are even hat collectables for some Fashionlands action when you're not resource-grinding and dungeon-crawling.
The hours I spent in Vexlands' world unlocking new map areas, diving into dungeons, and maxing out my skills were a pleasant mix of fun and relaxing. The game and its features are well polished, giving the impression of a clear quality-centered focus rather than quantity. Although it was relatively basic and didn't have much to unravel, I'm excited and optimistic about its future and the features Apogee plans to introduce later this year. If you want to try out Vexlands, there's a demo available on Steam, with more content updates planned for 2025.

I'm frankly taken aback by how Capcom is handling Monster Hunter Wilds on PC. I don't suppose I should be, considering what went down with Dragon's Dogma 2, but here we are. It gets better, though, if you like tragicomedy: Monster Hunter Wilds won't support FSR4 on day one.
Look, the fact that Capcom doesn't have day-one support for a cutting-edge upscaler from AMD isn't a problem in and of itself. These things take time, and everyone knows that. The issue I take with this particular statement over on Steam is how perfectly in line it is with the company's broader handling of the PC platform. It's half-baked at best, and that's me being really polite. Even though some have lucked out, many of us have been having serious problems with performance, stability, and general feature support in Monster Hunter Wilds. This is, in fact, the main reason why the game still has Mixed reviews on Steam. Capcom's response was this delightful little Tweet a few days back:
No FSR4 in Monster Hunter Wilds, but we knew that already
Let's be frank here: Monster Hunter Wilds runs about as well as a Cybertruck drives in mildly snowy conditions. This has been a huge concern for the community practically from the very first public beta available on PC, and Capcom's done virtually nothing on that front. Outside of questionably bumping down PC system requirements a few weeks back, that is.
Now, please keep in mind that this seemingly hasn't been the case with consoles: PlayStation 5 users, specifically, appear to have received the most stable and performant version of the game from what I've been reading. Even on PC, not everyone is having these problems. Yet, it's the fact that enough people are having them that the game's Steam reviews are as poor as they are that bugs me. Capcom's wacky handling of the situation isn't helping, either.
On a final note, if we're being truly honest, Dragon's Dogma 2 at least had an excuse for running the way it did: it looked genuinely compelling most of the time. Monster Hunter Wilds runs worse and looks a generation behind DD2, and I don't think Capcom's got any excuse for the way it's handling the situation. In the end, it'll once again be up to the community to fix what Capcom is incapable or unwilling to handle the way it should be handled, the same as it was with Monster Hunter World.
That's already happened, in fact, as an updated version of RE Framework allows for proper arbitrary resolution support, a variety of graphics improvements, and other items. This was available on day one of Wilds' release, mind. Should we ask Capcom what's up with that? Perhaps. Though, given the team's communications on the PC side of things, I reckon we all know what kind of response we'd get.

I've not been keen on Destiny 2 as of late, even though the new Heresy Episode has proven to be more than a smidge more enticing than its immediate predecessor. Now, completely unexpectedly, Bungie has announced a new Rite of the Nine event featuring something truly fascinating: Explorer Mode.
For the most part, Rite of the Nine serves as a surprise follow-up to one of Destiny's frankly best-ever events: Into the Light. Whereas some of the best parts of Into the Light did end up getting sunset in the end (but of course), the logic behind them has thankfully returned with Rite of the Nine. This time, however, it's all about Dungeon content, and I'm particularly excited about what is more-or-less a fancy tutorial mode for them. This aptly titled Explorer Mode is just one of three new takes on select Dungeons, and if this is the direction Bungie wishes to take Destiny 2 into, I'm all for it.
Destiny 2: Rite of the Nine is a remarkable follow-up to Into the Light, and Explorer Mode is a highlight
If you've been put off playing Destiny 2's Dungeons and Raids by the level of complexity they often show, then you should know that these are easily the very best parts of the game. Dungeons, in particular, are extremely approachable and can even be completed solo if you're a badass. Their mechanics can sometimes be obtuse, however, and that's where the first of three unique new Dungeon modes comes into the picture.
The Rite of the Nine event features three distinctive modes of play for three unique Dungeons: Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep can all be enjoyed in Explorer, Eternity, and Ultimatum Modes. The goal is to hunt after a high-score, and the more efficient players are at higher difficulties, the better loot they get. Said loot? Holo-foil weapons, folks. They're back, fancier than ever before.
That's all well and good, of course, but Explorer Mode in particular fascinates me because if how approachable it makes these Dungeons.
Explorer Mode is essentially an easy/tutorial version of the given dungeon. It features handy little tooltips that help highlight bespoke puzzle mechanics and gameplay features, no wipes, and extremely short revive counters. It's still going to drop regular loot, though we'll get an obviously smaller high score and thus smaller odds of getting fancy loot using it.
Eternity is basically the bog-standard Dungeon experience veterans will already know and love, on the other hand, while Ultimatum serves as an enhanced Contest Mode version of the same Dungeon, with select difficulty modifiers plastered on top.
Obviously, Explorer Mode is the most complex of these three difficulty modes, and the reason I'm so intrigued by it is that it could expand the reach of Destiny's very best content beyond anything it has right now. The fact of the matter is that some people simply choose to stick with casual Destiny content due to how complex endgame stuff seems, and Explorer Mode could dispel this notion once and for all.
The Rite of the Nine event is due to release as part of Episode: Heresy's Act 3 in early April, and it's going to feature a host of unique cosmetics, upgraded loot drops, the aforemnetioned Holo-foil weapon variants, and loads more. Definitely keep an eye out for Explorer Mode in particular, though, because this may be Bungie telling us of what to expect out of Destiny: Frontiers.

Hao's Special Works car upgrade is a unique set of customizations available on the current-gen version of GTA 5. With the free upgrade pushed out on PC, players can tune a selected set of cars with great upgrades.
This guide will help you understand how the upgrades work and how to begin the process.
How to access Hao's Special Works upgrades in GTA 5
First, head out to Los Santos and wait a bit for Hao to call you. He will talk to you about a new car he wants you to take out for a test drive. Once you have the garage's location, set a waypoint to help yourself get there with the sat nav. Once you reach the garage, lift the shutter, and you'll meet Hao and the new car.
The test drive that Hao was talking to you about is a time trial. You'll have 8:10 to beat Hao's timing, which isn't difficult. During the trial, Hao will talk to you about the upgrades and the type of tuning you can apply to your vehicles.
The time trail ends outside Cypress Flats, where the LS Car Meet will occur. Once you pass the test, you will be eligible to join the LS Car Meet, allowing you to customize an eligible vehicle. After defeating Hao, you'll be asked to visit him at his shop, and you get a free tuning conversion for your efforts.
![]()
How to apply Hao's Special Works upgrades in GTA 5
Once you have defeated Hao, he will also offer you a complimentary car. Go to Southern San Andreas Super Autos to get a Karin S95 for absolutely free. This car is one of the many vehicles you can tune with the HSW features.
Once you have an eligible car and become a member of the LS Car Meet, go to Cypress Flats with the vehicle you want to customize. Use the right D-Pad button to modify the car, but you must convert it first. The first conversion is free, so be picky about which vehicle you want to tune.
Once the conversion is complete, your car will be eligible for different upgrades. Just select the part that you want to improve and purchase it to apply to your chosen vehicle. Your car will then be fitted with the new parts.

Bungie revealed that the Guardian Games were returning to Destiny 2 on March 11, alongside the start of the second Act of Episode: Heresy. While the team promised that more info would come before its arrival, the devs teased a "bite-sized" boss rush activity inbound for the event.
Every year, the Guardian Games return to Destiny 2, pitting the three player Classes against each other to determine whether Hunters, Warlocks, or Titans reign supreme. Typically, Guardian Games is centered around participating in Class vs Class PvP matches and specific highlighted PvE content. For 2025, it sounds like the event might be changing itself up a bit, opting for something a bit more in the vein of Into the Light's well-received Pantheon activity.
Smaller than Pantheon
![]()
While Bungie devs were coy in regards to exactly what players can expect during this year's Guardian Games, a few tantalizing hints were dropped. Most significantly, the event will feature some form of a boss rush activity. The team was quick to clarify that it won't be on the same scale as Into the Light's Pantheon, but it seems like the fairest direct comparison.
Global Community Lead Dylan Gafner noted, "We have a, you put it best, bite-sized boss rush mode. So, it's not going to be like a Court [of Blades], it's not going to be like a Pantheon. But now we have a challenge of, 'Hey go in, burn down some bosses, get as many points as you can, and then you can get some new rewards.'"
What's on the table?
![]()
As far as the referenced rewards, Bungie highlighted a new trace rifle shipping alongside returning and refreshed Guardian Games weapons. As opposed to the recent Arc PvP-focused trace rifle from Iron Banner, this one is built more for PvE players. It can roll with some spicy PvE Perks like Overflow, Triple Tap, Detonator Beam, Rolling Storm, and Jolting Feedback, with options for the gun to drop with double Perk rolls.
Of course, there is also a set of cosmetic armor available through Eververse for Silver or Bright Dust. The armor's theme for 2025 moves away from sports and general athletic competition aesthetic of previous years for something more akin to a sci-fi gladiator. If you want to extend that drip beyond the in-game world, Guardian Games participants can also take home a themed jersey as 2025's unlockable-to-purchase Bungie reward.

It's time to say, "Wahoo!" because multiple Mario games will get a $20 discount for March 10 (otherwise known as Mar10 day). Some of the discounted games include Super Mario RPG and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, potentially giving your Switch library a 1-UP.
Many Mario games will be on sale
From March 9 to March 15, the following Mario games will be on sale at Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and Target:
$39.99
$29.99
![]()
If you haven't purchased a Nintendo Switch yet, the Japanese console manufacturer will provide a new bundle. For $349.99, you can get a Nintendo Switch - OLED model with Super Mario Bros. Wonder and three months of Nintendo Switch Online (NSO). NSO provides access to the online features of the console's games and a library of classic NES, SNES, and Game Boy titles. This bundle will be available at Best Buy and GameStop locations.
Whether or not it's worth getting a Nintendo Switch OLED model at this point is up to you. The Nintendo Switch 2 is due to launch sometime this year; a new Mario Kart has been teased alongside it.
Super Mario RPG launched last year as a remake of the classic SNES RPG. It updates the visuals to a wonderful degree while staying true to the original gameplay. It's one of the best Mario games on the Nintendo Switch.
Destructoid gave the remake a 9/10 review. "This Switch remake brilliantly preserves the spirit of the original SNES game, with some great quality-of-life enhancements and a phenomenally redone soundtrack," the article said. "Longtime fans looking for a more transformative remake may feel disappointed, but when the core game itself has aged this well, it doesn't suffer in the ways a lesser title would."

Doom and Doom 2 have been around for decades and have retained their status as influential games in the first-person shooter genre. But the series isn't as old as, say, Mortal Kombat, which released its first game in 1992. Hmmm...I wonder what it would be like to mix the two together.
Lo and behold, someone has done just that. Take a look at what SkeletronMK666 over on ModDB has given us. Ultimate Mortal Kombat for DOOM is a way to battle the demons of hell as some of the fighting franchise's most iconic characters.
![]()
The mod is for Doom 2, and you get to choose between Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Cyrax, Smoke, and Rain, or you can let the game decide for you. What's it like to perform the "Get Over Here" move on an imp? Well, if the video is anything to go by, pretty dope, it seems (do people still say dope?).
Finish them!
It's not just pure aesthetics, either, such as getting to see Doom Guy's avatar replaced with someone from Mortal Kombat. The weapons have also been changed to reflect each character. So Sub-Zero has his ice powers, Rain can blast his foes with water, and yes, Scorpion does have his iconic spear throw.
I should say that, technically, SkeletronMK666's mod has been out since 2021. However, it had an update not long ago, which would explain why it's now showing on the most recent list for ModDB downloads. This one has clearly passed me by, so I wanted to give it a shout-out.
If you know me, you know I love talking about Doom and Doom 2 mods. I'm actually just fascinated by the modding community in general. To think that, 30 years after release, id Software's legendary FPS is still attracting large swathes of fans that take a look at these aging games and think, I know what I can do with this.

Consumables in Monster Hunter Wilds are a core part of its gameplay loop. That's especially true as you approach the endgame. While all of them have their place, the best define how hunts begin and how quickly they end, which is why we're ranking them here today.
The best consumables in Monster Hunter Wilds
![]()
For this list, I'll be ranking items from the Healing/Support crafting menu, which includes things like Mega Potions, Cool Drinks, Demon Drugs, and the like. I'll also be including items like Might and Adamant Seeds, as their effects stack. Let's get started.
15. Potions and First Aid Meds
The humble Potion is the most basic consumable in the game. It doesn't heal much, takes forever to use without Skill buffs, and is usually only good to keep so you can craft more Mega Potions in quests. If you have no other heals in reserve, though, they can be the difference between hunting a monster and taking a cart back to camp.
14. Immunizer
You don't always need to heal after taking damage. If your health bar is showing a line of red, you can simply wait for it to naturally recover. Immunizers increase the efficacy of that effect, and can save you resources if you take the time to let the effect occur. Immunizers are also a key ingredient in some invaluable consumables later in our list.
13. Herbal Medicine
Where Antidotes are just Potions, but to cure Poison, Medicine pairs the lesser item's healing effect with a near instant Poison cleanse. Plus, its short use animation immediately puts Herbal Medicine above the more cumbersome items on this list.
12. Energy Drink
Stamina consumption and management are key to the gameplay of some of the best weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds. And while an Energy Drink only restores a set amount of expended Stamina, it can be the difference between a good DPS phase and a bad one. That it wakes you up from sleep is nice, too.
11. Herbal Powder
![]()
The first of the AoE items on our list, Herbal Powder is a team-wide Poison cleanse with some mild healing effects. While not as immediately useful as other AoE items, if you're fighting a Rathian or some other monster that applies constant Poison, having a few Herbal Powders handy will win you a lot of friends.
10. Mega Potion
The Mega Potion is the workhorse consumable in Monster Hunter Wilds, as it has been since time immemorial. Even top-level players rely on it at least a little bit early on, and it's a literal lifesaver for the rest of us. It's only number ten here becaus,e as ubiquitous as it is, its effects don't always completely change the course of a hunt — they only extend its timer.
9. Lifepowder
Short of spec-ing into Wide Range and Free Meal, Lifepowder is one of the best ways to keep you and your team in the fight without sacrificing your damage output or your build's potential. It's not the most effective AoE heal on the list, but if it saves even a single cart during a co-op hunt, Lifepowder will have more than earned its crafting cost.
8. Might/Adamant Seed
The Might and Adamant Seeds are the core ingredients in the more potent damage and defense buffs in Monster Hunter Wilds. They're also much more abundant than those potions, and their effects stack, making them useful at any point in the game. The only thing holding them back is their limited duration.
7. Demondrug/Armorskin
![]()
The lesser form of the stat-boosting potions in Monster Hunter Wilds, Demondrug and Armorskin are nonetheless staples of pre-hunt preparations. You'll use them as soon as you arrive at your destination, and they increase your damage or defense for a good chunk of the fight.
6. Dash Juice
I said Stamina management is invaluable to being an effective hunter, and Dash Juice makes that job a bit less troublesome. Between giving back Stamina on consumption, it also makes actions that consume Stamina use less of it, letting you dodge, block, and use a Bow more effectively, among other benefits.
5. Demon/Hardshell Powder
Another staple of the pre-hunt ritual is the use of Demon or Hardshell Powder while everyone is close together. The bonus it provides to attack and defense is significant despite its relative brevity. And like all other AoE items, you'll be a hero to the rest of your party if playing co-op. Don't rule out its usefulness while solo, either.
4. Dust of Life
As the best AoE heal in the game, you can only carry two units of Dust of Life in your field pouch at a time. Those two uses might also be the deciding factor of whether your healer — with their Wide Range and Free Meal — get to use their last Mega Potion before an Elden Dragon slaps them sideways.
3. Ancient Potion
The most powerful healing item in all of Monster Hunter Wilds, the Ancient Potion fills both your Health and Stamina bars to their maximum length. You can only carry one of them at a time as a bit of game balance, and they're an item of last resort. What holds them back on this list is, in most situations, they're best used outside of a hunt to get yourself back ikn fighting form, particularly after a cart. They're also cumbersome to craft outside of a tent.
2. Mega Demondrug/Armorskin
![]()
If you have access to the materials to make them, every hunt you go on should start with consuming a Mega Demondug and Mega Armorskin. Well, every hunt you know will actually be a challenge. For me, their use is mandatory, both as a matter of habit and because they offer more damage for very little additional investment. All you need is a solid collection of materials, which you should have by the endgame when these potions become invaluable.
1. Max Potion
The Max Potion, otherwise known as the first heal you should use in a hunt at or near the endgame. You can consume them faster than a Mega Potion; they grant a full heal, and their crafting ingredients are relatively easy to gather. Sure, Mega Potions are more available, and Ancient Potions are more powerful, but nothing in my six years with the Monster Hunter series has saved my sorry behind more often than chomping down on a Max Potion after taking a massive dragon laser to the face.
Those are my rankings for the best consumables in Monster Hunter Wilds. All of them make hunting a less onerous experience, but the cream of the crop turn hopeless situations into winnable ones.

A free event is coming to Destiny 2 for the third Act of Episode: Heresy. Much like the beloved event that preceded The Final Shape expansion, the upcoming Rite of the Nine adds coveted holofoil variant weapons, a new social space, and a fresh breath of life into the game.
Just before The Final Shape, all Guardians got to experience Into the Light. The Into the Light event added the Onslaught horde mode to Destiny 2 and first introduced the concept of holofoil, or shiny, weapon variants. The event was a big success, and now it looks like Bungie is trying to recapture some of that energy for Rite of the Nine.
A focus on Dungeons
![]()
Rite of the Nine will put players' focus on three Dungeons from Destiny 2's past: Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep. Bungie described how the event would allow Guardians to experience these Dungeons on their own terms, opting for a safer Explorer mode or ramping it up to the Contest Mode-like Ultimatum mode.
Players will also get access to a returning social space, a repurposed The Third Spire locale from the Trials of the Nine. There, you'll be able to visit the Emissary for the Quests, Bounties, and rewards associated with the event. You can also see whatever Dungeon is currently featured while at The Third Spire, appearing off in the unreachable distance. The team indicated that one of the Dungeons would be featured each week, cycling through all after three weeks.
The Third Spire is also where Guardians will go to attune to specific Dungeon weapons revamped for Rite of the Nine. Four armaments were selected from each Dungeon, getting a full Perk rework and retuning. This equipment can come in holofoil variants, harkening back to the shiny weapons from Into the Light or even the more recent Heretical weapons from The Nether. Bungie clarified that the Adept/holofoil variants of these Rite of the Nine weapons would only be earnable through Ultimatum mode, providing a little more incentive for players to go out and challenge themselves.
While the team wasn't ready to share any definitive dates for Rite of the Nine, players can expect more information to come from Bungie as we get closer to the event. For now, players still have the second Act of Episode: Heresy on the immediate horizon.

Unless you are a veteran Verse Piece player, then you've probably once wondered what the Reputation next to your name means. So, to answer your question and teach you how to earn a name for yourself, we prepared the following guide on how to get Reputation in Verse Piece.
Table of Contents
What is Reputation in Verse Piece
![]()
Initially, the Reputation and Bounty systems in Verse Piece allowed players to showcase their PvP prowess. However, the developers expanded the Reputation system by adding Grades through which you can earn unique accessories and titles. Even though none of those items are in the meta anymore, they are still cool to have as collectibles.
How to Farm Reputation in Verse Piece
There are two main methods for farming Reputation in Verse Piece. The Jujutsu Missions reward you with around 30 Reputation on completion. And the Hueco Mundo missions grant you around 50 Reputation per mission. Alternatively, you can also try PvP-ing to earn Reputation. However, keep in mind that other players can steal your Reputation as well.
Farming Reputation With Jujutsu Missions
To start a Jujutsu Mission, go to Frost Town once you reach level 1000 and interact with the Jujutsu Missions NPC. Then, you will be teleported to a unique island and assigned one of the following tasks: rescue Civilians, defeat Curse Spirits, find a Goblet, collect Curse objects, close a Shadow Portal, or defeat the Kashimo Boss. Each Jujutsu mission type has a specific time limit. If you fail to complete a mission on time in Verse Piece, you will lose a bit of Reputation.
Here is a map of all the Jujutsu Mission objective locations:
![]()
Farming Reputation With Hueco Mundo (Bleach) Missions
To get Reputation in Verse Piece at a faster rate, you can complete the Hueco Mundo missions. However, besides the level 2000 requirement, you also need at least 2,500 Reputation to start these missions. So, once you grind out the Jujutsu Missions for a bit, head to the Bleach Isle and interact with the Hueco Mundo gate by the wall. Again, you will be assigned a random mission type with one of the following objectives: defeat Arrancar, collect objects, close the Hueco Mundo gate, or defeat Kurosaki Ichigo.
Below are all the locations of the aforementioned Hueco Mundo mission objectives:
![]()
Gaining Reputation by Defeating Other Players in Verse Piece
![]()
An alternate way of earning reputation in Verse Piece is by stealing it from other players. However, that comes with a risk, as the other player can defeat you and steal your Reputation instead. If you don't want to risk losing Reputation in PvP, consider grinding missions while on a private server.
Trading Reputation With Other Players
Some players with a high Reputation offer it up for trade in Verse Piece. To find them, visit the Verse Piece Discord server, head to the #trading channel, and then search for "Reputation." However, keep in mind that, unlike regular trades, one of the players will have to take a risk by giving their items or services before the other. So, approach these kinds of Reputation trades with caution.
What to Do With Reputation in Verse Piece
![]()
Finally, the Reputation system in Verse Piece wouldn't make much sense if you didn't get something from it. Firstly, there are five (sorcerer) Grades in Verse Piece: Grade 4, Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, and Special Grade. By reaching certain Reputation thresholds, you can increase your Grade and get the following accessories: Sorceror Coat, Sukuna's Coat, Gojo's Coat, and Strongest Coat. Also, you can get the Bounty Hunter, Hero Rising, and Special Grade titles as well.
How Long Does it Take to Reach Special Grade?
The short answer is too long. The long answer, however, will require a bit of calculation. Let's say you just do Hueco Mundo missions and do not risk your Reputation in Verse Piece PvP. Now, if each mission gives you around 50 Reputation, you will need to complete approximately 15,000 missions to reach Special Grade. Multiply that by the 20 seconds that it takes you to complete one mission, and you are looking at around ~83 hours of grinding. However, if you can buy reputation through trade, you can definitely shorten this grind by quite a bit.
That sums up everything you need to know about gaining Reputation in Verse Piece. Now, if you want to dominate in PvP and become Special Grade, then make sure to check out our Verse Piece guides about races, traits, wisps, and artifacts as well.

One of the biggest factors in determining what monsters appear on the map at certain times in Monster Hunter Wilds is the weather and time system. You can check what time it is and what weather system is currently active by going to your map, but you're also able to change both elements to get preferable conditions.
See how the weather and time system works in Monster Hunter Wilds and how to change it in the guide below.
How the weather and time system works in Monster Hunter Wilds
![]()
The weather and time system in Monster Hunter Wilds isn't as traditional as other games. While you'll still see familiar times of day, how these are cycled is different than you might expect. Also, the weather in the Forbidden Lands is more akin to different seasons that see drastic environmental changes happen to the map. This affects how the monsters behave, what resources are available, and what monsters you're able to hunt.
Unfortunately, for the majority of the early-mid game in Monster Hunter Wilds, the weather and time are fully out of your control. You have to go by whatever time and season the game gives you during the entirety of the main story, which consists of the first three chapters.
However, after you complete the main story and reach High Rank, you're given full control over changing the weather and time in the Forbidden Lands. While this process is easy enough to take advantage of, it's not a free feature. Changing both the weather and time costs you a pretty penny that might be better spent on upgrading weapons or armor. Of course, if you're really after a certain monster or resource, you need it to be a certain time and season, so it can be worth it in those instances.
There are four times of day and three different weather patterns (seasons) in Monster Hunter Wilds. You can see all of them below:
Monster Hunter Wilds Times of Day
Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons
![]()
You're able to change both the time and season by going to your tent at any base or pop-up camp in Monster Hunter Wilds. From here, go to the "BBQ" menu and choose the option to "Rest." This makes your character sleep and awake only when you tell them to, which can be at a specific time and during a specific season.
Once you choose to rest, pick the time you want to wake and the season you want it to be outside when you do so. You can pick between the four times of day and the three seasons we listed above. After making your selections, you'll be required to pay the fee for resting and changing the weather outside.
The charge for changing the time and weather is 300 Guide Points. This same charge is applied regardless of how long you want to rest, so even if you sleep from Morning to Daytime, 300 Guid Points are taken.
![]()
Obviously, if you've started gathering copious amounts of Guild Points in Wilds, you know just how difficult they are to come by and how important they can be for certain endgame activities. However, the more and more you progress through the endgame, the easier it is to accumulate Guild Points, so eventually, this price won't be a problem for most players. Still, it's something to keep in mind, especially after just reaching High Rank.
Another aspect of changing the time and weather is that it only changes for you. Any players in your lobby won't see these changes on their end. If you're playing in a party, you are unable to change the time and weather, as those changes would have to be applied to everyone in your party for you all to see the same monsters, resources, etc.
The best way to get around changing the time and weather for a party is to pick whatever time and season you want before making a party. Then, invite your party members after the changes are made, and they will experience the same time and season that you changed to. On the flip side, if you're short on Guild Points, have a friend spend the points and then join their party afterward.
It's best to change the weather and time sparingly in Monster Hunter Wilds. Changing it too much will start to have an impact on the resources that villagers acquire for you and the items available for trade at base camp. You also want to save your Guild Points as much as possible during the early parts of the endgame. However, as you play more and don't need as many points or resources, change the time and season to your will as many times as you want.
