More games come out a day than an infinite number of monkey would be able to play. However, as one simple chimpanzee, I have compiled a list of 14 recently released indie games that fell beneath the gaming press's radar. With over eight billion genres represented, there's got to be something you'll like.

These Jurassic World Evolution 2 mods let you build and terraform however you want

We get it - a management game like Jurassic World Evolution 2 needs to offer a challenge, and give you something to work toward by overcoming those challenges. The thing is, if we were into following the rules, we wouldn't be building a park full of carnivorous dinosaurs to begin with, right? So we found a couple of mods that remove the normal constraints on building you find by default in JWE2.

Both mods were created by Kaidenic, and together they open up your options without changing the core game. The first is Expanded Terrain Tools, which removes constraints on rock placement (you can plonk them down even if their ghost is red), and gives you a wider range of sizes for your terrain tool. The mod also adds an intensity slider, so you can set up a big brush that adds sparse trees, or a tiny brush that paints them in as densely as possible.

The mod also increases the maximum slope for your terrain, so you can make hillsides of up to 85 degrees. That could result in some unnatural looking landscapes, but hey, throw on some trees and nobody will notice.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is free to play this weekend

If you're a little weary of the dour grimness of medieval England in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, this weekend is your chance to try out Ubisoft's more whimsical take on the Assassin's Creed open-world game formula. Immortals Fenyx Rising is free to play starting today and running through November 28.

In Immortals Fenyx Rising, you're set loose to explore a land filled with the creatures and personalities of Greek myth and legend, filtered through the sunny, colourful world of modern family animation. As Iain Harris wrote in our Immortals Fenyx Rising review, "tonally, we're in the ball park of Disney's Hercules." You've got a irascible Zeus who picks on Prometheus, who's filling in as narrator.

It's packed with referential, self-aware humour, so it may not appeal if that kind of thing isn't up your alley. But as Iain writes, exploring its beautifully rendered world is consistently delightful, and Fenyx's set of Icarus-like wings let them glide over the landscape to your heart's content, as you search for another god who's gotten themselves into a bind.

Best PC gaming deals at Best Buy this Black Friday

Black Friday is here, as retailers like Best Buy are already live with deals, upon deals, upon deals. If you're savvy with sales, you'll know Best Buy has a bounty of bargains and deals, especially when it comes to gaming PC accessories and peripherals. However, just like physically rummaging through the sales, pinpointing the best deals online is somewhat of a chore, so we're here to help steer you towards all the best savings Best Buy has to offer.

You'll be able to find great deals on the tech trader's online site and if you're in the market for a new gaming monitor, you'll be pleased to know that there are already various discounted screens available from HP, LG, Samsung, and Asus.

Naturally, not everyone's looking to completely overhaul their gaming setup during the holidays. So, if it's just a new gaming keyboard or mouse you're after, you'll want to keep an eye out for Best Buy's Razer, HyperX, Logitech, and Corsair offers.

Best Black Friday gaming keyboard deals

Black Friday 2021 is here, and there are plenty of PC deals out in the wild. Of course, there are plenty of parts that probably deserve an upgrade, but if you had to put your money to one, we recommend grabbing the best gaming keyboard to complete your setup. Better be quick, though, because while some deals last the weekend depending on stock, others are fleeting and only available for the one day.

Why exactly should you get a gaming keyboard over the standard beige rectangle dossed around the workplace? Those everyday keyboards can only handle an average of two inputs at once, which can be problematic when you want to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge out of your enemy's way, throw a grenade, and swap weapons in quick succession.

The benefits don't end there either, as gaming keyboards often come with faster response times, comfortable wrist rests, macro keys, media buttons, RGB lighting, a choice of different kinds of switches, and plenty more goodies, too.

Save $250 on the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite VR gaming headset this Black Friday

The best VR games on PC offer experiences unlike any other, whether it's the hypnotic rhythms of Beat Saber or titles like Half Life: Alyx that challenge our expectations of what makes a great FPS game. Now is the best time to jump into virtual reality, as none of the best VR headsets are safe from Black Friday discounts - just like the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite.

HTC is often credited for leading the charge into premium, quality VR experiences, with its original HTC Vive VR headset. Fortunately, these high standards remain present in the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite - one of the best VR headset of 2021.

It features a sharp combined pixel resolution of 2880x1700 with LCD panels that minimise the dreaded 'screen-door effect'. Meanwhile, the headset's 90Hz refresh rate and support for field of views up to 110 degrees help to make your time in virtual reality as comfortable as possible, in addition to its adjustable Eye Comfort Setting and head strap.

Here's where Xur is in Destiny 2 today – Beyond Light, but not beyond Xur

Xûr is Destiny 2's Exotic gear merchant. He appears every weekend to sell the game's most coveted items in exchange for Legendary shards, but if you're a casual player with limited shards to spend, it can be hard to know which of his wares is most worth your investment. That's where we come in.

As of June 12, 2020, it appears that Xûr is back to providing random rolls - so the Exotic merchant is providing more excitement than he has in a long time. Xûr appears every Friday at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm GMT, and will stick around until the Tuesday reset. We'll update this guide shortly after he arrives, so if you're reading this, you need only read on to learn where he is, and which are the best items he's selling this week.

Now we're in Beyond Light territory, but Xûr's first appearances have been at the usual spots - so maybe don't expect too many surprises from the merchant in the new year of Destiny content.

Here are the Destiny 2 Trials rewards this week

Bungie's pinnacle PvP activity is back in rotation with a major revamp, and if you're looking for details on the Destiny 2 Trials rewards this week, you've come to the right place. Before you start working your way up through the ladder, you'll want to know what you're actually working for - so here's a breakdown of what's available each week, and what map you'll be playing on.

If you're not familiar with Trials of Osiris, it's a weekly PvP challenge where you enter a competitive gauntlet of 3v3 elimination matches. Your rewards are now doled out with a reputation system, so it's not about pure wins anymore, but you will still get special rewards if you can manage to go flawless.

Trials lands with the reset every Friday at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm GMT, and lasts until the Tuesday reset at those same times. Each week provides a new set of rewards and a new map to play on, so here's what you can expect for the latest rotation.

Save up to $150 on Secretlab gaming chairs and gaming desks this Black Friday

There's little point having an all-powerful gaming PC if the entire time you spend using it is horribly uncomfortable, because of a subpar seating setup. Thankfully, Black Friday has pushed the price of gaming chairs down, with Secretlab offering up to $150 off its wide selection of seats and gaming desks that feature designs inspired by the best PC games and wider geek culture.

Secretlab reign supreme on our best gaming chairs list, with its Omega and Titan range, which are basically identical except their size and weight tolerance. You can grab these chairs in leatherette and fabric, or NAPA leather if your budget stretches far enough. However, you'll likely spend far longer deciding on what design your chair should have.

There's something for everyone, whether you want to rep your favourite esports team or showcase your love of a particular video game for all the world to see. In addition to looking premium, you can rest assured that these chairs will always have your back (pun intended), with a four-way L-Adapt lumbar support system and full-metal 4D armrests.

Black Friday 2021 is here, and the perfect time to pick up one of the the best gaming headsets. Wrapping your ears in a good paid of cans is just as important as a quality mouse or keyboard in your setup, allowing you to both communicate clearly with teammates, hear enemy footsteps across the map in shooters like Rainbow Six Siege or Call of Duty: Vanguard or just listen to music at night without upsetting the rest of your house.

They're not the cheapest piece of equipment in the world, particularly when you're looking for something high-end, but that all changes when you introduce heavy discounts. Thankfully, Black Friday is upon us and sales are in abundance to offer you great deals on a quality set of cans.

Whether you want to save money on a budget model that covers all the bases, or a premium option that suddenly has much more value, we've rounded up the best Black Friday gaming headset deals, with options from popular brands such as Razer, Logitech, and Corsair. Remember to keep checking back here, as there are more deals cropping up as we creep closer to the big day, but don't hang around either, as they're flying off the shelves.

Best Black Friday gaming chair deals

Gaming chairs are arguably one of the most important parts of any gaming desk setup. Sure, finding the best gaming monitor, best gaming keyboard, and best gaming mouse during Black Friday might be more of a PC gaming priority, but ultimately, a reliable seat will help you stay in the game for longer. Of course, while ergonomics are important, there's no reason why you can't also be stylish and economical while purchasing a new gaming chair for your caboose this Black Friday.

Unlike traditional seats, there's a lot to consider when it comes to choosing a gaming chair. From premium materials to fancy features and customisation, ones designed for lengthy gaming sessions are worlds apart from their four-legged ancestors. Naturally, this also means that you'll need to consider various brands across a range of different price points.

If your current setup is subtle and efficient, you'll have no trouble finding a chair that screams practicality during Black Friday. However, if you're a fan of Razer, Corsair, and Logitech products, you'll also be able to stay faithful to the bold look of your favourite gaming PC brands.

When I write one of these Black Friday deal posts for your perusal, the first thing I do is light up a candle and delve into the dusty depths of the RPS archives to see if we have reviewed the product in question. Due to my lowly status, I'm not allowed to handle such hallowed items, so I must consult the wisdom of my betters. We haven't written about the wired HyperX Cloud II 7.1 headset, but Katharine looked at the wireless version, which is the same, but with less wire. Katharine again, hmm? Is this some kind of conspiracy? Is she using her boss lady powers to get all the good stuff? Or did she just used to be our hardware editor? I've connected the dots!

Welcome to the Week in Review
Plus: are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes?
I'm very tired. I say that a lot, but my word, right now I'm at another level. This is what happens when you're the editor-in-chief of a global consumer tech website, and a large part of your audience is interested in what's happening with the Black Friday deals bonanza that's in full swing as I write this.

But this is not the newsletter for Black Friday chatter – you're just going to get what I've been able to string together from the residual dregs of my sanity after I've slept for three hours in 48. Thankfully, the world of tech hasn't completely stopped revolving, and there's enough to talk about this week… it just might be a touch shorter than usual.

Visa slams Amazon's ban on its credit cards
(Shutterstock)
It's all gotten a bit fractious between two of the world's biggest companies. Amazon recently said that it would no longer allow customers in the UK to pay using Visa credit cards, as the costs it incurred for processing payments were too high.

Visa has hit back, accusing Amazon of punishing the consumer because, Visa says, it's stuck with its pricing structure – if the fees are too low, the financial institutions get irked, but raise them too high and things like this happen.

Visa clearly wants Amazon to get on board and just shoulder the cost. Amazon says that Visa shouldn't be charging more to allow it to do things like fight fraud – it says that should be an inherent part of its business.

It's the crazy, airing-the-laundry-in-public nature of this battle that's so interesting. While it's annoying for the consumer, I suspect the issue will be quietly resolved with some sort of deal in the not-too-distant future between the two firms.

The computer that lived for only 10 minutes
(Shutterstock / Timofeev Vladimir)
I'm including this story in for two reasons: it did a huge amount of traffic over the week, but also, I didn't understand how it could be true.

What was interesting was that the 'computer' in question was essentially just a load of server space purchased for a short amount of time, but, for 10 minutes of that time, so much capacity was bought that it effectively created one of the world's 10 fastest supercomputers.

All this was done to help a pharmaceutical company develop a drug – with a processing task that would ordinarily have taken two months taking just seven hours.

What have I learned? If I spent $100,000, I could have myself one of the world's most powerful supercomputers for 60 minutes – and in my book that's a good way to spend my money.
Know This
I'm not here to talk about Black Friday, but…
(Oral-B)
Black Friday is the elephant in the room this week, and I'm not going to talk about the reams of deals going on right now, partly for the sake of my own sanity; but Black Friday does also give TechRadar's writers the opportunity to wax lyrical about the tech they love.

This quirky piece talks about how a toothbrush can change your life – and not simply by making your teeth cleaner and making your skull less likely to be eroded by cavities (as was happening in this case); the writer, Aaron Asadi, says the sense of satisfaction he experienced when his toothbrush smiled at him for brushing correctly and for the full two minutes was "unlike anything I have felt in my adult life."

It does help, though, that the toothbrush is one of best on the market – the Oral-B iO9, if you're interested.
The Sign Off
The great zebra debate is far from black and white
(Manoj Shah / Getty Images)
I saw the headline for this story on LiveScience, and I didn't even need to read it to know it was going to be my discussion point for this newsletter.

However, I was hoping it was going to be a few sentences that cleared things up one way or the other – what I got, annoyingly, was loads of learning that enriched my life and now I know more things.

It's a good read that lurches you back and forth – you think they're white with black, then black with white, and then… well, I won't spoil it. But I did learn that apparently the stripes help to stop zebras dying from fly bites – I'll leave you to discover why.
This is from the editor
I promise I'll be back on form next week – well, I'll probably still be trying to bring my brain back to life, but at the very least I'll have more stories for you to look through.

The lovely thing about this week though is that the TechRadar team has worked together in a way that just doesn't happen the rest of the year – and while there's a lot of work to get through, being part of this team is the reason I look forward to coming into work day after day.

Do please email me as ever, remembering to include 'NEWSLETTER' in the subject line. I'll see you in seven days – and there will be nary a mention of Black Friday.

Best Black Friday gaming mouse deals

We're at that time of year again, where the prices of gaming gear are laid on the chopping block, the axe is lowered, and we're left with discounts spilling out into a basket below. The crowd cheers. Gruesome imagery aside, the Black Friday sale might just be the perfect time of year to upgrade, and there are quite a few tempting gaming mouse deals primed and ready to go ahead of the big day.

So, what separates a gaming mouse from your everyday office clicker? After all, you've already broken free from the confines of a trackpad, what more could you possibly need? For a start, they can give you the edge in FPS games with better sensors and adjustable DPI, extra buttons when playing the best MMOs, or cut the cord so you don't get your wires crossed without wireless input lag.

Most other times of year, these features come at a premium price, but Razer, Logitech, and SteelSeries aren't waiting for the weekend to roll around. We suspect we'll see Corsair, Roccat, and HyperX join in on the fun by the time Black Friday lands on our doorstep, too, if you have your eye on a particular model.

Not all of these changes have been explained clearly either, leaving many players a bit confused.

We're here to help clear things up and provide you with a basic primer on the new supply mechanics and how they interact with the game's combat mechanics. It's worth noting that there was some very clear design intent behind these changes, as game director Peter Nicholson recently intimated - just because things are going wrong, doesn't mean the system isn't working as intended.

We've drawn from a few sources to help put together this guide. FeedBackGaming's rather ad hoc tutorial video explains things quite well, but it's worth revisiting the relevant developer diaries as well, although it's worth noting that many previously discussed features have changed across the supply system's development.

     Best Black Friday SSD deals

You've come home from a long day and want to kick back with your favourite videogame, only to find out there's an update so big it can no longer fit on your device - yes, we're looking at you, Call of Duty. It sounds like you might need a new SSD, which doesn't have to cost as much as you think.

Games are constantly getting bigger, whether you're paying attention to the intricate graphical details or getting lost in their sprawling worlds as Rockstar, Bethesda, and Ubisoft all compete for the largest map possible. Even Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War barely fits on a 250GB drive with all game modes taking up a hefty 175GB.

Your first thought might be to buy a new hard drive, and you wouldn't be wrong in thinking they offer more capacity for a significantly lower price. But unless you want to spend more time hanging around on a loading screen than playing the game, you're better off with a good SSD to speed things up. There are even plenty of deals from WD, Samsung, and Crucial that rival what we'll see on Black Friday if you don't want to wait around.

Best Black Friday gaming monitor deals

The humble gaming monitor has come a long way in the past few years, and now PC gamers are blessed with all sorts of options, from gorgeous IPS panels with sublime colours to curved displays that fully immerse you in your favourite game worlds. The best part is that you don't even need to wait until Black Friday to get your hands on a discounted gaming display.

For the competitively minded among you, you really can't afford to put off upgrading to one of the best gaming monitors with a high refresh rate. The difference between a 60Hz and 144Hz display is night and day, and you'll find the smoother picture will help you enter any gunfight in a game like CS:GO or Rainbow Six Siege with confidence. It doesn't matter how good your gaming PC is if you're still playing on a display with washed-out colours and a refresh rate that can't keep up with your framerate.

While the thriftiest of you might want to wait for Black Friday to get your hands on the best possible deals, there are plenty of discounts ahead of the November weekend.

Battlefield 2042 devs think they have a fix for buggy hit registration

Battlefield 2042 is out in the wild now, and it's faced a bit of a rocky launch. Developer Dice has been busy tracking down bugs and has already released a fairly significant patch that addresses some of the more pressing issues that players have identified in the multiplayer game, and it seems we should be seeing a fix for dodgy hit registration before too long as well.

Hit registration seems to break down entirely under certain circumstances, making for unfair and frustrating engagements - even after the latest update. Lead game designer Florian Le Bihan has been busy reviewing footage players have uploaded, and has said the team thinks it's worked out a solution to at least some of the instances of wonky hitreg.

Popular Battlefield YouTuber Jackfrags uploaded a clip that demonstrates the problem: while lying prone underneath a pipe structure, he engages a group of enemies moving through a cloud of smoke at about 50 metres. While some of the hits register correctly, it looks as though many of his shots don't land, even though he seems to be lined up and aiming directly at them when he fires.

Grab $130 off Samsung's EVO Plus 2TB SSD this Black Friday at Best Buy

Gaming PC storage isn't as exciting as a new graphics card or 4K gaming monitor, but it's still a vital part of any setup. Sure, that old hard drive whirring away in your rig is still holding up, but the latest games are getting more demanding, both in terms of installation size and load speeds. Thankfully, Black Friday is abundant with speedy NVMe SSD deals, and Samsung's 2 TB EVO Plus has a substantial 39% off.

Over on Best Buy, Samsung's 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD is discounted $130, bringing its price down to a stylish $199.99. While smaller capacity drives are available for less, this 2TB PCIe stick will soup up your system and provide more room for your Steam library. The drive also features AES 256-bit hardware encryption, something that should keep your private bits and bobs safe from prying eyes.

Of course, If you're planning on picking up the best gaming laptop this Black Friday, you could pair it with a 2TB EVO Plus for even more storage. The SSD's reduced price also means you could save even more on your next rig, as you could purchase something with less capacity and upgrade things once it arrives.

Samsung's biggest curved gaming monitor is $500 cheaper this Black Friday

We're all familiar with the old adage 'size isn't everything', and for certain things, it's true. But when it comes to improving visibility of the action while playing your favourite MOBA games, or revelling in sweeping open world RPG vistas, a larger monitor just delivers in a way that smaller screens just can't match. Luckily, one of the biggest beasts on the market, the 49-inch Odyssey Neo G9 AG900, is currently reduced by a humongous $500 at Best Buy in the Black Friday sale.

With a curved screen that measures over four feet from corner to corner,, this monitor is an impressive bit of kit. Using cutting edge QLED technology, it also ensures that you have the highest picture quality across the whole screen. Not only can it give you variety amongst the darkest blacks (making it so much easier to see when games cast you into dark spaces), but it also gives you bright vibrant colours that help make the beauty of your favourite games really pop. The use of a Quantum Mini-LED also helps the monitor to achieve a realistic level of depth, giving a more deeply immersive gaming experience.

Now let's talk about response times. They're fast. Faster than a hungry pig who just got the keys to the slop factory. In an intense online battle, a second can be the difference between winning and losing and the Odyssey Neo's grey-to-grey 1ms response time means that information from the game appears on the screen as quickly as it is technologically possible for it to do so. It's crisp, it's smooth, it's amazing. For the sake of comparison, it gives you four times as many frames per second than you'd find on Samsung's 49 inch CRG9 curved gaming monitor, which has a 4ms response time.

Back 4 Blood is missing Left 4 Dead's sense of friendly competition

My teammates and I have made it to the first safe room in Back 4 Blood - just about. While we pant and wheeze, the last member through the door is still taking pop shots at the final few zombies in the level.

It could be for the thrill - the satisfying smush of 5.56 rounds pummeling into zombie brains - or more likely, they're hanging back to add to their kill tally. We drag them in and shut the door, ostensibly to guarantee our safety, but deep down we're waiting for the end-of-mission scoreboard, which promises to answer the squad's burning question: who won?

Our characters stand across the screen and we wait for the reams of stats and accolades with bated breath. Who will be crowned victorious? If not for killing the most infected, then for something - any kind of zombie-slaying feat. Who did the most damage to bruisers? Who got the most melee kills? Which clumsy oaf inflicted the most damage on their teammates or kept triggering hordes?

Rust skins – here are this week's new items

Each week, Rust developer Facepunch Studios picks a bunch of skins to come to the survival game's in-game store for a limited time, which you can pick up for somewhere been a handful of pennies to a few quid. These skins let you customise the look of a wide range of in-game items, which can be clothing, decorations, and other things.

Each week, Facepunch announces the latest selection of Rust skins chosen on its Twitter channel, and there's usually somewhere around eight new cosmetics to browse (though it can be more). But, as the whole 'weekly skins' thing implies, each selection is only available for a short period - the remainder of that week, before a new batch o' skins gets picked to replace it. After that time, those skins will only be purchasable via the multiplayer game's community market.

To help you keep track of each week's new set of Rust skins, we've included a list of them below, which we'll update when the reset happens, usually towards the end of every week (because we're super nice and helpful like that).

Intel could release new graphics card every year up to 2025

The release of Intel's dedicated Arc Alchemist GPU is just around the corner, and the new gaming PC combatant could shake things up in 2022. Nvidia and AMD may not have any respite, either, as rumours suggest the blue team's confirmed Xe graphics cards could release on a yearly basis.

According to Intel's Arc Community Advocate, Bryce Furuya, the Xe Next Druid GPU could launch in 2025, providing "all goes well" with the launch of Arc Alchemist. Of course, Intel's release roadmap also includes two additional cards, Battlemage and Celestrial, both of which are set to release after next year's Alchemist launch. Providing the timeline hasn't changed, this means a new Xe graphics card could release every year, at least up until 2025.

Intel hasn't confirmed solid launch dates for its Arc graphics card lineup, so it's probably best to take any news of Arc Druid's arrival with a grain of salt. That said, Furuya's estimations aren't far-fetched when you consider the product line's multi-year roadmap, and a yearly release cycle could help the blue team compete with Nvidia's RTX 3000 refresh and next-gen RTX 4000 GPUs.

Monster Hunter Rise will hit PC with post-launch Switch content included

Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise is launching on PC with all the post-launch content from the Nintendo Switch version included. In a blog post on Steam, the developer explains that the upcoming PC game will feature everything the current version on Nintendo's portable gaming device has, with plans to have updates fully synced up by the end of February 2022.

Monster Hunter Rise has received a steady stream of updates since it launched earlier this year. As such, you're getting the base offering of monsters alongside some new beasties that Capcom added in subsequent updates, such as the Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Chameleos. You'll also have access to the main story's new ending, alongside quests and costumes that come from collaboration events with Monster Hunter Stories 2, Okami, Street Fighter, Mega Man 11, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Capcom reaffirms that Monster Hunter Rise doesn't support cross-platform play or cross-saves between PC and Switch, so you'll be starting from scratch if you've already played this one.

This endgame replay mod for Civilization 6 looks really cool

The only thing better than having a great run in 4X game Civilization VI is being reminded of how great it was through a replay. The 'Endgame Map Replay' mod by Technoluddite does exactly what it says on the tin. It plays out the just-finished match on an abstracted hex map which looks similar to one of the map modes you can activate in-game.

Firaxis' popular strategy game does already provide endgame stats that you can look at to see how well you did, but this Civ 6 mod offers a more in-depth alternative. It doesn't replace the existing endgame screen, rather it adds a new tab. "When selected this displays a map of the world," the mod page explains, "initially showing it as it was at the beginning of the game."

Using playback tools that also come with the mod, you can then watch the match (and map) unfold from the player civ's perspective. It shows when new cities and infrastructure get placed, territory gains and losses, and even the spread of religion. There are also additional options and configurable settings you can play around with as well.

How to get snowman components in Genshin Impact

If you've begun the Shadow Amidst Snowstorms event, you need to collect various snowman components to make Puffy Snowmen for this wintery challenge. Once you've successfully built your snowmen in your camp, you're rewarded with snowmen torsos, which you can take into your Serenitea Pot as lovely winter decorations.

The first event after Act 1 of Shadow Amidst Snowstorms, The Snowy Past, has already begun, and finishes on December 1. You need to be at least Adventure Rank 20 to take on this festive challenge in Dragonspine Mountain - it's worth the time, as the reward is not just snowy pals for your realm, but a powerful four-star weapon, the Cinnabar Spindle.

Once you've completed Act 1, you can build Puffy Snowmen in camp, but you need to collect a bunch of components first. It's not just the sword on offer, either, you can also earn primogems and mora, plus emblems from completing training activities. Here's how to build Puffy Snowmen in Genshin Impact, and where to find all snowman components for your frosty friend.

Eve Online's miners' strike signals uncertain times for the space MMO

World War Bee 2, the biggest and most costly war in the MMORPG's 18-year history, sputtered to a close earlier this year. As the belligerents have returned to a more 'normal' mode of operations, however, they've discovered that the massive space game is different now than it was before - and many haven't liked what they've found.

Over the weekend of November 13-14, thousands of players from both sides of the massive conflict descended on the key trading hub of Jita 4-4, firing volleys at the assembly yard that orbits the planet. They had organised a protest over proposed changes coming to Eve Online's industrial systems outlined in an Eve Online developer blog published earlier in the week.

Even the best MMOs are fairly complex, but Eve Online is notorious for its complexity. In the blog, Eve's developers proposed changing the way the game handles mining operations. The idea, CCP tells us, was to make the process more interesting than it's been historically, adding new systems for mineral compression and wastage. According to the plan, miners must compress materials (ore, gas, or ice) as they bring it aboard their ships, and this process involves losing some amount of material as waste based on a number of factors - primarily equipment quality and mining skill.

As awards season approaches and I start to compile a list of all the great games I missed this year, there's one game I really regret not covering in more detail at RPS around the time it came out. That game is The Vale: Shadow Of The Crown, an audio-only RPG about a blind princess fighting to save her kingdom. You may have seen it nominated in the Innovation in Accessibility category of The Game Awards this year, and frankly if it doesn't win then a great disservice will have been done. A stark contrast to the other, all very AAA nominees in its category, The Vale doesn't rely on flashy visuals to tell its story. In fact, it barely has any graphics at all. Instead, it conjures its world - and tense fighting sequences - from sound alone, creating an experience like nothing else I've ever played.

Typically, I'd associate Google Docs with work, and any form of spreadsheet with even more work, but indie game developer "droqen" has made me reassess that outlook. He's the dev behind the 2D platformers Starseed Pilgrim and Probability 0, and now Demon Deleter, a game in which you have to delete the names of a bunch of demons from a spreadsheet. It's a simple yet surprisingly fun idea that lets players hang out in this unusual shared space together. The inspiration behind it is pretty random too - droqen tells me he got the idea after spending hours cataloguing items for Animal Crossing.

I recently spent a couple of weeks with the Roccat Pyro as my main work and gaming keyboard, and it was a lovely bit of kit for the price; full-size mechanical keyboards rarely cost under £100, yet here was one that started at £90 and had everything a typical PC gamerist could ask for. Now, what with it being Black Friday and all, it's hit a new lowest price of £60 – a 33% saving.

For such anti-riches I can't recommend any other tenkey-equipped, fully mechanical keyboard more; indeed, it held the 'best cheap mechanical gaming keyboard' title on our best keyboards list well before this discount revealed itself. The only thing missing here is USB pass-through, but N-key rollover, a volume dial, a detachable wrist rest, macro recording and RGB backlighting are all part of the deal.

Sadly I haven't found such a drastic saving for US buyers, though Amazon has sliced off a few dollars to bring it down to $75.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 SpecificationsIt was Black Friday 2019, and I'd saved up to build my first serious gaming rig. I'd worked at PC Invasion for a year, coasting by on my meager GTX 950. I'd always bought an Nvidia GPU, and it was almost always on a budget. But the cards never gave me any hassle. But, how exactly did Forza Horizon become such a juggernaut of a series, arguably even eclipsing its sibling brand from which it initially branched? After doing a bit of research and some creative thinking, I've concluded that it all boils down to three main pillars: prestige, design, and resources.   Prestige: Not so humble beginnings In the early 2000s, Microsoft built its portf...
