Space Marine 2 is shaping up to quietly be one of the coolest games of 2024 and possibly the best Warhammer 40K game in some time. Ahead of its launch next month, developer Saber Interactive revealed a roadmap promising new weapons, maps, and more at no additional cost.
Admittedly, I'm not the fighting game savant at this site, or even in my own circle of friends. Crucially, I think everyone plays more of this genre than myself, though I was a bit of a fighting game fiend growing up. That lack of experience didn't impede me when it came to last year's Street Fighter 6, however, which…
Why must good things always happen to other people? While today's joint Nintendo Direct and Indie World showcase was full of amazing updates on existing games and announcements of new projects—like a Trails in the Sky remake—one of the best announcements of the day only aired in Japan. Konami's seminal dating sim, Toki…
Just in time for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, First 4 Figures is now taking pre-orders for its large statue recreating the iconic salute seen toward the end of the original game.
Monster Hunter Wilds is going big. After months of trailers, teases, and hands-off looks at it, the upcoming title had its big blowout, complete with a playable Gamescom demo and a round of previews I was invited to. After about 90 minutes with some of the game's opening hunts, I'm pretty confident Monster Hunter…
Dune Awakening is not only exciting because of the massively-popular IP it's pulling from but because it is an incredibly ambitious newcomer into the survival game scene. Its MMO approach means there are a lot of systems and opportunities to play with and against other players. That's something we recently discussed with creative director Joel Bylos at Gamescom, who explained how Dune Awakening is aiming to make every element as co-op-friendly as possible, and how no matter how much time you can sink into the game, you won't get left behind.
It seems like 2024 is definitely the summer of extraction games. From games like Gray Zone Warfare and Arena Breakout Infinite making waves to sword and sorcery takes on the formula like Dark and Darker and Dungeonborne, we're swimming in a sea of extraction right now. Joining that bustling gang is Dungeon Stalkers, a fantasy dungeon crawler that's looking to set itself apart from the crowd - by cursing you.
Workers from Greedfall 2 developer Spiders have released an open letter criticizing the company's management, calling for strike action, and voicing concerns over the development of the upcoming fantasy RPG. Set to launch in early access in just four weeks time, the letter describes work on the game as "painful" and that the project feels like it's "underwater."
Helldivers 2 has already proven that there's a thirst for epic co-op shooters right now, and Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 is hoping to expertly quench that thirst very soon. With its release date fast approaching, developer Saber Interactive has just revealed what players can expect post-launch with a content-filled Space Marine 2 roadmap.
Less than four weeks ago, a new tactical FPS called Spectre Divide was announced to the world. The unique-feeling CS2 and Valorant rival hosted some media previews and a closed beta, but incredibly, it's just locked in its early access launch date already. What is doubly incredible is the fact that the Spectre Divide release date is arriving in just a few days time.
Konami announced three pre-order bonuses for those who grab a digital copy of Suikoden I & II HD Remasteron social media. Two of them are early unlocks for pieces of equipment you'd normally get access to later in the game, while the other offers a head start with a substantial amount of in-game money.
Calling dibs on a digital copy gets you 57,300 potch as the first Suikoden I & II HD Remaster bonus. This is the money you'd use to buy Runes, equipment, or other items in games. This would normally be acquired at a standard pace while going through fights and the adventure.
The two pieces of equipment given as Suikoden I & II HD Remaster pre-order bonuses are the Fortune Orb and Prosperity Orb. Each one can be equipped on a character. The person who holds the Fortune Orb will get twice as much experience from every fight they participate in. Meanwhile, if the one with the Fortune Orb equipped is in a battle, you get twice as much potch currency from the fight.
Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 6, 2024.
Square Enix announced that the Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Switch exclusivity is about to end, with PC and mobile versions on the way. It will launch on the PC via Steam and head to Google Play and the App Store for Android and Apple iOS devices on September 11, 2024.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is a spin-off of the main series that makes Psaro, from Dragon Quest IV, the main character. We follow him and see events of that game from his perspective. He's also joined by other characters from that title, such as Rose, as he attempts to recruit monsters as a Monster Wrangler.
This will be a complete version of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. On the Switch, someone could pick between the base game or an $85.99 Digital Deluxe Edition. That added on the Coach Joe's Dungeon Gym, Mole Hole, and Treasure Trunks DLC, as well as the Burgundy Gothic Vestment, a Warrior's Ring, and 10 Beastie Bites for your monsters. All of these pieces of additional content will be included in the PC and mobile versions of the title.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is on the Nintendo Switch now, and the PC and mobile versions of the game will launch on September 11, 2024. A demo is available on the eShop.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced an upcoming price increase for the PS5 and its accessories, controllers, and peripherals in Japan, which will take effect on September 2, 2024. The adjustment is attributed to global economic challenges affecting the company's operations. The standard PlayStation 5 will now be priced at ¥79,980 (approximately $545 USD), and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will cost ¥72,980 (around $495 USD) after the change.
Additionally, the price will increase for the PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless controllers, with models such as the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red now priced at ¥11,480 (approximately $78 USD) each, while special editions like Volcanic Red and Sterling Silver will retail for ¥11,980 (about $82 USD). Other accessories, including the PlayStation Portal Remote Player and the PlayStation VR2, are also affected. The PlayStation VR2 is now set to cost ¥89,980 (roughly $615 USD), and the bundle including Horizon: Call of the Mountain will be priced at ¥94,980 (around $650 USD).
This comes after price increases for Sony's subscription services on the console worldwide. PlayStation Plus offers three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. The Extra tier provides access to a broad selection of games, and the Premium tier includes additional features like classic titles. Monthly subscription rates are now $9.99 for Essential, $14.99 for Extra, and $17.99 for Premium, following an increase in September 2023.
These new PS5, controller, and peripheral price increases will go into effect in Japan starting on September 2, 2024.
Square Enix announced that Foamstars, currently available on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, will transition to a free-to-play model beginning on October 4, 2024. This price change marks a significant shift from the game's previous regional pricing strategy and is designed to make the game accessible to a broader audience.
Notably, after the transition, players will no longer need a PlayStation Plus subscription to access the game. This means anyone will be able to download and play Foamstars for free.
For those who have already purchased and downloaded Foamstars before the switch, Square Enix is offering a "Legacy Gift." This package includes 12 exclusive color-variant Bubble Beastie skins, an exclusive Slide Board design, and a special title called "Legacy."
Since its launch, Square Enix updated Foamstars with season passes and additional characters. For example, a new season will start on August 30, 2024. That will bring with it an additional playable character. Ahead of its launch, Square Enix shared a song that will show up alongside the update called "Golden Beats."
The price change is set to take effect on October 4, 2024. Square Enix advises players to confirm that the price has been updated before downloading the game, to ensure they receive it for free.
Crunchyroll announced it isn't splitting with the Bananya anime, as season 3 is heading to the streaming service. People will be able to watch Bananya Around the World starting in October 2024 via the provider.
This latest run comes about eight years after the first season and five years after the second. So far, there's no exact release date for the first episode of season 3 of Bananya, but we do know the regions where it will be available. Crunchyroll has worldwide rights for places like North and South America, Europe, and Oceania. However, the only regions in Asia its scope covers will be the Indian Subcontinent. It will also be a simulcast series, though the number of total episodes for the run weren't confirmed. Yuuki Kaji will also return as the main character, with Ayumi Murase debuting as Baby Sweet.
Here's the first trailer for Bananya season 3. It features the two new leads, as well as hints at how this time the focus will be on visiting different locations.
As a reminder, the first and second seasons of the Bananya anime each consisted of 13 episodes. These tended to be two to three minutes long.
Bananya Around the World will air on Crunchyroll in October 2024.
The Boston Red Sox One Piece Night is August 28, 2024, and Toei Animation again teased the Luffy bobblehead some attendees will get and activities everyone at the game can enjoy. As a reminder, the bobble head of the character in the team jersey is only available to those who bought their ticket from the special promotional page.
The concept art mock-up for the Luffy bobblehead features him in his trademark straw hat. He also has a yellow belt and his sandals on. However, his shirt is a red Boston Red Sox jersey, rather than one of his typical ones. He's also holding a baseball bat in his right hand, and the base shows him stepping onto home base.
Here's how that design might end up looking:
Ahead of the game against the Toronto Blue Jays, a tentative schedule was shared. Things will kick off at 4:40, about three hours head of the game. The Sam Adams Deck at Fenway Park will host a cosplay gathering until 6:40pm. In addition, people can try out the One Piece Card Game at the Big Concourse until 8pm ET. The game itself is expected to start at 7:10pm ET.
This is the second year in a row there's been a collaboration event between a US sports team and One Piece. In December 2023, the Los Angeles Rams had a game day honoring the series. There was imagery around the stadium, music appeared, and people could get special items like a bag.
The Boston Red Sox One Piece Night with Luffy bobblehead will be held on August 28, 2024. The anime is on both Netflix and Crunchyroll. Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan. The first season of the One Piece live-action adaptation is on Netflix now, with season 2 on the way.
After events in Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix will sometimes add rewards from them to the official store a year later when the activity returns to the game. That just happened with The Rising 2023 Phoenix and its whistle, which debuted in the FFXIV Online Store as the Reborn Phoenix mount.
The Reborn Phoenix mount costs $12 in the FFXIV Online Store. It nets you the Rising Phoenix Whistle, which summons the bird for your avatar to ride. It is identical to the one we could earn for free in August 2023. This is a single character item, and someone can use it once you gain the ability to ride a Chocobo in-game. There is also a fiery mount action tied to it.
Here's how the Reborn Phoenix looks:

This Rising Phoenix Whistle tied to the Reborn Phoenix mount is one of multiple former The Rising items now available in the FFXIV Online Store. Here's the list of the other items you can buy now:

Most of the new platform releases will only be available for purchase digitally. The PC version will be available via Steam and Xbox Games Store. However, Bandai Namco has so far confirmed that it will release physical copies of the PS5 version in Japan.

The new platform versions will also have a number of different tracks to replace the Nintendo-exclusive music. The original Switch version featured tracks from Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, and Kirby Star Allies. Bandai Namco will replace the aforementioned tracks with a Monster Hunter: World medley, "Dr. Wily Stage 1" from Mega Man 2, and "Last Surprise" from Persona 5.

One of the greatest surprises in Deadpool & Wolverine is Channing Tatum's excellent performance as Gambit. It's a cameo that shines above all the other cameos in a movie made up almost entirely of cameos. As the movie ends, it's a shame that we have to say goodbye to Tatum's portrayal just as we finally got it. Well,…

Remember Foamstars? No...oh. Well, okay, uh, shit, I was really counting on you at least partially remembering it. Foamstars, released in February, is Square Enix's PvP PlayStation game featuring colorful characters shooting foam at each other. It wasn't very good. And now, less than a year after launch, it's been…
Folks, we finally got a trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and the next live-action spin on Sega's speedy hedgehog looks like it's drawing heavily from Sonic Adventure 2's story. Though it's not a 1:1 recreation of the Dreamcast game, Keanu Reeves' Shadow the Hedgehog is primed as the main villain this time around,…

Did you know that Quentin Tarantino loves the first three Toy Story movies, and even considers the third entry in the franchise to be one of the best movies he's ever seen? Well, now you know. And he also has some thoughts on Toy Story 4, too.
Honkai: Star Rail has introduced a slew of new characters in its version 2.4 update, but the first one to be made playable is the broadsword-wielding Yunli. This Xianzhou native makes a big impression in the story content as she helps train fellow character March 7th with sword fighting. Her harsh (if not bratty)…
Fallout 76's recent update Skyline Valley brought with it more than just insane weather and new types of Scorched to contend with; it also introduced numerous Legendary weapons. There's no outfit in gaming with a stronger history of telling tales about picking fights with God than Square Enix. Literally or metaphorically, from Final Fantasy Legend/SaGa and Star Ocean to Xenogears and even some Final Fantasies, a foundational narrative in which our heroes push back against a cruel,…
Management sims have taken on many guises over the years - Two Point has placed us in hospitals and college campuses, Tropico has whisked us away to exotic islands, and Rimworld tests our skills on distant planets. But I can't recall there ever being a management sim based around a heavy music festival. Well, that's going to change with Lord of Metal, which not only lets you manage your own traveling festival, but has Guitar Hero-style minigames too.
If Age of Empires feels at least a little classy, like the kind of game you could show to your history buff dad, Age of Mythology is the pulp novel equivalent. It's trashy and bombastic like a schoolyard conversation about whether Goku would beat Superman. Now you can find out whether Zeus would best Thor in a fight (or at least which of their proxy armies). Age of Mythology: Retold is the latest in a line of AoE re-releases and the most expansive to date. If you have a head for turn-of-the-century RTS design and can get behind its frivolous tone, Retold is as fine as any RTS remake out there.
Old John Tolkien was never one to look to the future so he'd no doubt be surprised at the sheer juggernaut his mythological creation has become. Since the arrival of Peter Jackson's film trilogy, The Lord of The Rings has taken over the world and while there have been entries with varying degrees of success there are a few adaptations that have hit the ball out of the park. Two of these, Lego The Lord of the Rings and Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor, are currently free to grab for yourself.
What is the Slay the Spire 2 release date? Slay the Spire fans knew Mega Crit were in the kitchen cooking up something fierce after ending development on its debut game back in 2020. While there have been some small updates to fix some bugs and ensure compatibility on the Steam Deck, the original game has been complete for years.
First revealed at the Triple-I Initiative Showcase in April 2024, Slay the Spire 2 was announced to the world with a stylish animated trailer. The developers have confirmed there's a new set of slayers joining the cast, including returning favorites, Ironclad and The Silent. It's been over 1,000 years since the Spire was last open, so expect the creatures and monsters in this roguelike game to be completely different this time.

If you want to play Deadlock, here's our guide on how to access the Deadlock playtest.
The Lenovo Legion Go finally has a new range of official Lenovo-made accessories. Getting on for a year since its launch, buyers of the handheld have previously had to rely on third-party accessories, but now a comprehensive range of quality Lenovo options is available to allow you to make the most of your precious portable.
The Lenovo Legion Go has become the de facto third big option for PC gamers looking to grab one of the best handheld gaming PCs, but its lack of official accessories has been one of its nagging negatives. With these new accessories, though, Lenovo has finally turned those frowns upside down. Combined with recent official Legion Go price drops, the handheld now has a new lease of life.
What are the best Roblox games? Games aren't just better than ever for kids; the means of creating them are, too. Corsair has just unveiled a new budget gaming mouse that comes in both wired and wireless forms and offers a potentially ideal combination of features for PC gamers on the move. The Corsair M55 and M55 Wireless can't claim to be the most exciting-looking mice ever, but with the wireless option's battery lasting up to 400 hours on Bluetooth, it could be a tempting option for those on the go.
These new Corsair mice aren't looking to break any great performance records, but they still pack in capable sensors and switches that should prove more than capable when needed. They might not sit among the best gaming mouse options when it comes to performance, but their prices look great for the specs on offer.
Want to play the Deadlock playtest? Now that Valve has officially announced their upcoming live service shooter after keeping it a 'secret', players are allowed to stream and share their experiences of the game so far, with gameplay footage appearing on Twitch and YouTube already.
Valve's upcoming game is, surprisingly, a competitive shooter to rival the likes of Valorant, Apex Legends, and Overwatch 2. There's even a Steam store page that sadly doesn't announce a release date, but does confirm that Deadlock is very much a thing, and it's in early development. People are already playing it through a closed playtest, so if you want the chance to jump in, here's how.
What are the best Cyberpunk 2077 mods? CD Projekt Red released its own REDmod tools for free, allowing everyone to install Cyberpunk 2077 mods through a dedicated client they can download from Steam or GOG.
This release comes as we also see Cyberpunk 2077 mods that alter the range of facial features, change your looks in small ways after character creation, and even access stuff we were never meant to see. That last one's important as it adds new functionality to the cyberpunk game. What starts with a shove one day could evolve into giving your character superpowers.

What's better than doing a surprise videogame crossover? Doing four at once and releasing them all at the same time for free, of course. Move over Mario and Rabbids. Get out of the way Dead by Daylight and FNAF. There's a new Balatro update, and it heralds crossovers with the likes of The Witcher 3 and Vampire Survivors, as well as some beautiful new card designs. If you've been waiting for a reason to beat some of the last Stakes or finish a run with every deck, admiring a new set of cards while doing so is as good a reason as any to return to the table.
What are the best action games? To stand out from the rest, the best action games offer deep mechanics that take minutes to learn but hundreds of hours to truly master. Some offer a few combat buttons to fend off attackers, while others have intricate combos you'd typically find in fighting games, and luckily, they give you plenty of targets to practice on.
If you're up for something a little more substantial, taking many hours to complete, we have a separate list of the best action-adventure games to whet your appetite. Alternatively, there are FPS games with action game mechanics, such as Doom Eternal where you can blow up hordes of demonic enemies in front of your very eyes. Modern RPG games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake also opt for a more action-filled real-time combat system.
Which planets are in Star Wars Outlaws? As you might expect from an open-world Star Wars game, Outlaws takes us on a massive adventure across the galaxy, with multiple accessible planets filled with bandits, bounty hunters, and thrilling space adventures.
Among the explorable planets in Star Wars Outlaws are many of the most well-known and recognizable planets from the franchise. Others are completely new, so you can get your fill of both nostalgic easter eggs and brand-new experiences in the RPG game. We've compiled this list all of the planets and key locations for you to explore.
Sea of Stars caught me seriously by surprise. The retro-style RPG with significant similarities to Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and the classic era of Final Fantasy, I was expecting a game that skated by on raw nostalgia value, a pretty but perhaps light fantasy adventure with only so much to offer beyond its pixelated visuals. Instead, Sea of Stars was one of the best RPGs I played last year, a solid, well-told story with smart combat (I love Valere's little parry system) and a charismatic cast. Now, Sea of Stars is about to get even better - as confirmed at the Indie World Showcase, the new Sea of Stars DLC is finally on its way, and it's going to be free for everyone.
Are there any Star Wars Outlaws Twitch drops? Star Wars Outlaws is a traditional Ubisoft open-world game, meaning there are numerous planets to see, plenty of secrets to discover, and many treasures to collect.
It might take a while to gather all the items and intel in Star Wars Outlaws, but you can always boost your collection in the open-world game with Star Wars Outlaws Twitch drops. This will give you a quick and easy way to earn in-game items, even in Star Wars Outlaws early access, or before you've even had a chance to play yourself.
What are the best free PC games? Whether you're broke or just frugal, free is a price point that appeals to everybody's purse. No matter your genre of choice, it turns out that zero can buy you quite a lot in the F2P game world, and even beloved classics are available at the steepest possible discount.
We've collated the top free games on PC that are guaranteed to deliver a near-endless stream of complementary entertainment. All you need to spend is your time. From cultural landmarks like Fortnite to all-time greats like Team Fortress 2, some entries on this list can easily make our list of the best PC games of all time. In no particular order, here are the best free games on PC.
After almost a year of exclusivity on the Epic Games Store, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria has escaped onto Steam. Part of the building and survival game boom that's given us Valheim, Minecraft, 7 Days to Die, and Subnautica, this adventure throws us deep into the underground of Tolkien's epic fantasy universe instead. Following in the footsteps of Gimli you're tasked with retaking Moria after the fall of Sauron, but of course, the deep, dark underworld is anything but safe. To mark the leap to Valve's platform Return to Moria is having a big launch sale alongside the big new Golden Update.
It's time for Command and Conquer to come back, and when I say Command and Conquer, I mean the absolute classics like Red Alert and Tiberian Dawn - as much as I might bemoan sequels, cash-ins, and the relentless march of IP, if a new C&C in the '90s style was announced today, I'd be jumping. That dream aside, the likes of Tempest Rising and Industrial Annihilation are keeping the genre alive, but there's one throwback RTS I've been watching for a while now, a game that's been incredibly quiet for over 12 months, but is suddenly, thankfully back with a big gameplay update. If you miss Tanya, the GDI, Kane, and the Ion Cannon, I bring you the extremely gorgeous DORF.

When is the Judas release date? The BioShock series left an indelible mark on the videogame landscape. In those landmark titles, we explored a dystopian world filled with ambitious technology, extraordinary abilities, and top-notch storytelling. Now, BioShock creative director brings us a sci-fi spiritual successor - and no, it's not System Shock.
Judas is an upcoming PC game by Ghost Story Games, an indie studio staffed by former Irrational Games developers led by Ken Levine himself. This single-player story game is set in an original universe, and looks like the perfect blend of BioShock and System Shock, the FPS game series' own futuristic predecessor. Catch up with all the latest news surrounding the Judas release date, gameplay, and story right here on PCGamesN.
One of AMD's forthcoming new GPUs has seemingly just appeared in the Geekbench result browser, with the listing revealing some of the key specs of this new graphics card. It looks as though the first AMD Radeon 8000 GPUs are now being tested prior to launch, giving us our first glimpse of what could be in store with the new series based on the RDNA 4 architecture. If this listing is right, though, then the specs look pretty underwhelming.
Current rumors already point to AMD focusing on mid-range performance with its new Radeon RX 8000 lineup, and leaving the flagship best graphics card title to Nvidia. This wouldn't be the first time AMD took this strategy either, with its Vega and first-gen RDNA GPUs also sitting below Nvidia's top-end options at the time.
When is the Concord release date? Originally revealed in May 2023, we got our first look at Firewalk Studios' 5v5 shooter, Concord almost exactly one year later at Sony's State of Play. Bearing a similar style to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, players take command of the Northstar crew, a mercenary 'guns-for-hire' group known as Freegunners.
There are plenty of Freegunners groups out there, all of them searching for risky jobs that pay well. It's up to your crew to stop them in their tracks, while earning a huge paycheck in the process. Concord gives you the freedom to pick the perfect set of soldiers to form the strongest crew available in the space game. However, with new updates set to add new Freegunners to the multiplayer game, you can expect the meta to shift regularly. Here's everything you need to know about Concord's release date, the cast of characters, and more.

Nintendo Direct brings us a gift, and one in the form of exciting news about history's most squirrel stuffed RPGs. Can you really claim 108 characters when five of them are flying squirrels with different colour capes? Never mind all that. Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars has a new release date: March 6, 2025.
I'll get into details in a minute, but since it came up in Slack chat earlier, I'd first like to share with you the differences between the 1995 JRPG's EU PS1 one cover art:
I find it bizarre that people still really like Crash Bandicoot games in this, the year 2024, two decades after the decline of the platform mascot warz. I have ample nostalgia for the old marsupial myself, with his second Naughty Dog-developed outing being a particular obsession, but come now, we're all about deckbuilders, soulsliking and battle royale nowadays, right?
Still, I'll admit to a twinge of disappointment after reading that a Crash Bandicoot 5 was once in development at Crash 4: It's About Time developers Toys For Bob, and might have featured an interdimensional team-up with one of Crash's old rivals. No, not Mario.
The dwarven engineers of The Lord Of The Rings: Return To Moria have formally entered the Golden Age of Steam. The game is now available on Valve's digital storefront, after a year in the comparatively barren underdark of the Epic Games Store, and developers Free Range Games have also released a Golden Update, which adds offline single player pausing, around 100 building objects, and a sandbox mode allowing for non-story-led excavation and settlement of the game's procedurally generated mountains. Plus, new hats and axes! Try not to get dragon sickness.
When we talk about a game having a sense of place, it's often about how adroitly it covers up the necessary falsehoods of a world contrived to accommodate the player character. It's the good kind of lie. One with purpose, like Lucas smearing vaseline over the camera lens to cover up the landspeeder's wheels. Star Wars Outlaws, then, is a strange case. Because while its planets and cities do feel ersatz as living places, they're kind of incredible as film sets. That's your job here. This is where the game is. You don't play it so much as you perform your role in a series of loving, enthusiastic callbacks. That's a star war. This is a star war. Oh, hey, I know that! That's one of my favourite star warses.
The slugcat of Rain World is a distinct little character. He flops around, squeezing through narrow tunnels with a movement that's both cute and mildly gross. When he is eaten by a passing disco lizard or ravenous skull-faced vulture, it is because he is basically a delicious Squirmle existing in a horrifying cryptozoological ecosystem. He is, however, never stepped upon by a mech with a missile launcher. He is never given a shotgun and tasked with shooting the other animals. Yet that basically seems to be the elevator pitch for Uruc, a sci-fi metroidvania set in a distant future where strange life battles mechanical monstrosities.
It's been a while since I last played World Of Warcraft, but that doesn't stop me from listening to the Elwynn Forest theme whenever I need to decompress. And as I understand it, WoW's latest expansion The War Within adds to a game that's largely unrecognisable from those vanilla days. That's not necessarily a bad thing, and with TWW out this very second it does make me think, "Hmmm, what if I do make a return". This happens every time. I'd quite like to see the new continent, the new class features, and the expanded Skyriding.
This morning I left my torpid flat in search of coffee, sniffed the restive wind, noted with approval the gloom gathering beneath the trees, and thought: at last, summer is over. At last, we quit the disgusting sunlit months. At last we leave all that is green and good behind, and return to the time of monsters.
Supermassive Games and Behaviour Interactive must have gotten the memo too. They've just released a demo for their next horror game The Casting Of Frank Stone, in which you are a policeman, Sam Green, who is investigating the disappearance of a child. The search leads you to Cedar Hills Steel Mill, "where chilling secrets await, revealing a far more sinister truth than anyone could have anticipated". I am anticipating: QTEs during escape sequences, branching choices that get people killed, and General Mature Content appropriate to the coming of Halloween.
Square Enix announced that it has launched a collaboration event between its NFT game Symbiogenesis and Zielchain. The latter is an NFT project spearheaded by the illustrator Yoshitaka Amano.
The company has placed five items themed after Zielchain inside Symbiogenesis' in-game map for a limited time. People who want to participate in this event will have to find the items by following clues posted on the game's social media accounts.
Players who have obtained all five items will receive exclusive NFT art drawn by Yoshitaka Amano himself. In addition, Square Enix will hold a lottery where the event completionists may win additional prizes. The company will reward Special Auction tickets to 20 lucky people and a Chapter 3 Starter Pack to 50 winners. The latter will contain a stamina recovery potion and a Chapter 3 key visual NFT, as well as replicas of the NFT characters Chimney, Tuber, Sublime, and Farl.
As a refresher, Yoshitaka Amano first revealed his NFT project Zielchain in 2022. The platform would sell NFT art which would also be featured in his VR museum. The Yoshitaka Amano VR Museum has since been made available on PCs via Steam in late September 2023. While the app is free to download and access, it also contains in-app purchases to unlock more content inside the virtual museum.
Symbiogenesis is available to access via Google Chrome browsers on PCs and mobile devices. The collaboration event with Yoshitaka Amano's NFT project Zielchain will run until September 10, 2024.
Capcom has revealed that it will produce and sell its own Street Fighter 6 Juri figure. The company will release the figure as a part of the Capcom Figure Builder Creators Model series in March 2025.
This figure will be completely static with no movable parts. The Ruined Lab stage will serve as an inspiration for the figure's set base. The set's overall height will be approximately 31 cm (12.2 inches), which is measured from the bottom base to the tip of the pole.
Pre-orders for the figure are immediately available on the Japanese e-Capcom store at 27,500 yen (~$191.60). People residing outside Japan can also place their orders with international shipping via the WorldShopping widget.

Onion Games announced the Japanese release date for Stray Children as part of the Japanese version of the latest Nintendo Direct August 2024. The new game from the creators of Moon Remix RPG will appear on December 26, 2024 for the Switch.
A new short 36-second trailer appeared during the Direct, showcasing some old and new areas of the Land of Children, as well as the title's unique RPG combat system. The new area shown depicts a waterlocked city inhabited by frog-like people in which the player traverses using a lily pad.
You can check out the Japanese release date trailer for Stray Children here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9MpwdBmi5c
Onion Games is a Japanese studio started by former members of developer Love-de-Lic. The company went on to create Moon: Remix RPG Adventure in 1997, and Onion Games ported the game outside of Japan for the first time in August 2020. The title influenced Undertale creator Toby Fox, and the Stray Children footage shown suggests that Undertale might have influenced back Onion Games' new title, with both title sharing light bullet hell elements and enemy talking mechanics.
Stray Children will come out for the Nintendo Switch on December 26, 2024. At the time of writing there is no announced release date for the game outside of Japan.

Koei Tecmo announced the release date for Fairy Tail 2, the newgame that follows the events of the 2020 one. It will appear this year. The PC version will show up first, with that coming to Steam on December 11, 2024. Then the console versions will launch a few days later on December 13, 2024.
A release date trailer accompanied the Fairy Tail 2 announcement. It began by confirming manga creator Hiro Mashima's involvement. Then, we saw the two sides involved. One is the guild, with Natsu accompanied by all his allies. Then, as the Alvarez Empire events and final battle are teased, we see all their opponents. From there, it focuses on gameplay. We see Fiore, watch the crew in fights, and see special attacks. After that, parts of the story and appearances from Alvarez Empire characters are teased. At the very end, we see that pre-orders net us a Natsu of Edolas costume for him, and buying it at or immediately after launch lets us dress Lucy in her Miss Fairy Tail Contest outfit.

During the August 2024 Indie World and Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, EA announced it would bring two MySims games to the Switch as MySims Cozy Bundle. The collection will include the original MySims Wii game and its follow-up MySims Kingdom when it launches on November 19, 2024.
The two titles are remasters of the more relaxed The Sims spin-offs. MySims involved creating a character and living a life in a town. In the first game, you are in charge of redeveloping a town and helping people with their needs. You create homes, make furniture, and customize them with essences you collect, as well as befriend people around you. Before the Switch release, it appeared on the DS, Wii, PC, and even Blackberries.
With MySims Kingdom, EA took the opportunity to switch things up a bit. That sequel, which only appeared on the DS and Wii originally, involved rebuilding a kingdom with magic in a medieval sort of game. Once again, you use essences to build homes and furniture. You also can befriend people again.
Here's the trailer showing the first MySims Cozy Bundle footage:

MySims Cozy Bundle will come to the Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2024, with MySims and MySims Kingdom in the collection.

Nintendo had held its regular Nintendo Direct stream in both Japanese and English on August 27, 2024. The company technically held two Directs in the same month. Konami has revealed Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional at the August 2024 Japanese Nintendo Direct. The new version of the Tokimeki Memorial series' inaugural title will be available on Nintendo Switch in 2025.
Forever With You Emotional will be based on the first-ever Tokimeki Memorial game. The player will control a Japanese male high-schooler, who has to find a female schoolmate to confess love by graduation. The new version will also have an option to toggle between the classic pixel graphics and more modern refined art for the characters.
This new reveal is the result of Konami fulfilling its promise to make a new game-related announcement for Tokimeki Memorial after holding the 30th anniversary concert in May 2024. The series marks its 30th anniversary in 2024, following the original game's release for PC Engine in 1994. The subtitle Forever With You Emotional implies that Konami will improve this release from Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You, the PlayStation version that came out in 1995.
Nintendo has also uploaded the standalone Direct trailer for Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional on its Japanese YouTube channel:
