PCGamesN Friday, July 4, 2025 5:38 PM Of all the upcoming survival games we know about, Subnautica 2 is right up there as one of the most anticipated. There's been a lot of excitement for a new underwater adventure, this time with full co-op support so you can explore alien seas with a friend. This week, that excitement has faded and been replaced with concern and anger after Krafton, the game's publisher and owner of developer Unknown Worlds, removed the studio's co-founders and president, replacing them with a new CEO. After widespread outcry, and even calls for a boycott of the game, Unknown Worlds has followed this news up with a statement reassuring fans that the vision for Subnautica 2 remained unchanged and that no extra monetization was being added to the game. PCGamesN Friday, July 4, 2025 2:56 PM At a first glance, Rekindled Trails looks like the perfect game for disengaging your brain and destressing. A cozy life sim with the kind of resource-gathering activities you'd find in games like Stardew Valley, it's aiming to tell a charming tale of a fiery villager looking to make life in Aurteris as pleasant as possible. However, with some intricate inventory puzzles that will test your Tetris skills and a narrative that sees you trying to rebuild citizens' trust in deity-like flame, there's more to the recently released Rekindled Trails than meets the eye. PCGamesN Friday, July 4, 2025 2:56 PM July 4, 2025: We're looking for new Steal a Brainrot codes for the 4th of July celebration. What are the latest Steal a Brainrot codes? Taking clear cues from Grow a Garden, this new Roblox experience dismisses the idea of patience, perseverance, and the rewards that follow, and instead, you steal the hard work of others. It's poetic in a way. So much so that we're not sure what to make of it. But freebies are freebies, and that's what Steal a Brainrot game codes are good for. But players are loving it. While it's far from meeting the lofty concurrent player goals of its inspiration, like Grow a Garden codes or Blox Fruits codes, it's putting Brainrot Evolution codes on high alert. PCGamesN Friday, July 4, 2025 12:41 PM One of my biggest annoyances with the Civilization 7 UI is its lack of quick feedback. The new 4X game hasn't landed the way developer Firaxis would have wanted, with low Steam review scores four months on from launch. Big fixes are in the works, however, and the most recent update feels like the start of a climb in the right direction. But there are some problems that can be more immediately fixed, and modders have done exactly that with the introduction of a tool to easily see exactly the effect of new policies. PCGamesN Friday, July 4, 2025 12:04 PM If the sound of whirring fans spinning up grinds your gears, then how about building a PC that doesn't just look cool, but also manages to stay cool without needing any fans? I spotted this mini silent gaming PC build on Reddit today, and I applaud the builder's commitment to cutting fans completely out of the equation, all while using off-the-shelf parts. PC component makers often misleadingly use the word "silent" to describe quiet products, but this one genuinely fits the bill. Naturally, there aren't any super high-end components in this PC build, but it still contains an Intel Core 15-13400F, a ten-core CPU that's listed as the best value option on our guide to buying the best gaming CPU. What's more, the builder of Project Silence, who goes by the alias of Big_Muffin_574, says the CPU temperature normally stays at around 50°C, and only hits 60°C on a bad day. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, July 4, 2025 2:30 PM ![]() Checked the deals this morning and found some epic picks worth sharing. There's good value across the board, from fast storage and memory upgrades to dependable gear for your setup. A few of these are steeply discounted and won't hang around long. If you've been thinking about upgrading or just need reliable hardware, now's a good time to jump in. Let's get into it: |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, July 4, 2025 1:10 PM ![]() In bygone ages, Christian clerics would spend decades hunched over scrolls of vellum and parchment, ornamenting the text with scenes of questing knights, creeping chimeras, spiralling verdure, and perhaps the occasional bare bottom, as a treat. They would sacrifice their wits and tendons to the cultivation of microcosms, planted in the eyes of capital Os, or growing around the bars of capital Es. Now, you can crap on their efforts by slapping together rad illuminated pages in seconds in a video game editor. That game is Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts, a book-adorning sim from the creators of pen-and-paper (hah!) strategy game Inkulinati. It's got a playtest running till 10th July. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, July 4, 2025 12:11 PM ![]() In Mecha Break you play as a booby anime statuette. She is the one driving the mech. This is a leery game of lasers and ass shots, and sometimes even manages to elicit moments of exciting robo-a-robo combat. But there is always a boob or two waiting for you after the heights of battle, jiggling over endlessly popping screens of free-to-play gubbins. Somewhere in Mecha Break is a good game, but you have to peel away the plastic tits and pushy sales screens to find it. |

Bandai Namco announced Jump+ Jumble Rush, which will be a mobile game that'll go live in Fall 2025. This game will feature multiple characters from Jump+ manga series, such as Spy x Family, Dandadan, and Chainsaw Man. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Jump+ Jumble Rush is a commemorative game to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Shonen Jump+. From the screenshots and trailer video, we can get a look at how the game plays. It's a tower defense game in a field that looks like manga panels. Manga panels also appear whenever you use a character's signature attack. You can choose ten characters for your dream party, combining characters from popular series like the aforementioned three series, and much more.
Here is a trailer of the game:
According to Bandai Namco, this is a game that's very intuitive and easy to get the hang of. So if you're a manga fan but not much of a gamer, you can still pick it up without any difficulty.
Shonen Jump+ first came out in September 2014, and is a free mobile app and website. While you can read digital versions of Jump titles, it also has a lot of original titles, such as Kaiju No. 8. Series that debuted this year include Maison and the Man-Eating Apartment, Eunuch of Empire, and Blue Proustian Moment.
Jump+ Jumble Rush will come out in Japan on mobile devices some time in Fall 2025. More information on the release date, as well as any pre-registration bonuses, will come out later.

The Champions Path Objective brings a fresh set of rewards for EA FC 25 players to unlock in Ultimate Team, and to do so, you'll have to grind the Champions Finals.
The fresh objective has six tasks to complete, and you'll have to win a certain number of games. Doing so will complete the milestones, unlocking the rewards. This guide will provide you with all the required information if you're looking to earn as many rewards as possible.
EA FC 25 Champions Path Objective explained
The first step is to qualify for the Finals, which requires you to get at least one win (out of five games) in the Playoffs.
If you can manage to get 10 wins (out of 15 attempts in the Finals), you'll unlock an additional 87+ x3 Rare Gold Players Pack.
The highlight reward is pretty easy to obtain, as you'll need to complete just six games in the Finals. The results of those games are not relevant. Thogersen's promo card is rated at 95, but it could receive upgrades based on how Denmark performs in the WEUROs. Winning 10 matches will get you the best set of rewards, which includes an interesting evolution.
The evolution allows you to add the Intercept+ Evolution to any card rated 94 or below. It's an interesting option to have, as you can upgrade one of your cards and improve it. Given all these rewards are available for free, make sure to get as many wins as possible.

The Legacy of a Lioness Evolution is an interesting upgrade option for EA FC 25 players, and especially so, if they don't mind spending coins.
For the first time this year, a normal evolution will add a fourth playstyle+ to a chosen card. However, it will cost you 75,000 coins (which isn't exorbitant considering we are in the endgame). Your selected card will also get boosts in its stats and overall ratings, along with fresh roles.

Monopoly GO has officially introduced six-star stickers years after its initial launch. At first glance, they may seem like regular cards that are slightly rarer than usual. However, as you play through a season more, you'll quickly learn just how rare they truly are.
That said, knowing how to obtain them can be tricky, especially if you're a newer player wanting to progress through the season's albums. Here's a complete guide to finding six-star stickers in Monopoly GO.
How to find six-star stickers in Monopoly GO
Fortunately, Monopoly GO offers multiple ways to obtain six-star stickers, as detailed below:
Sticker trading
![]()
The best way to get six-star stickers if you're an experienced player is to trade them with other players. While this usually involves a one-for-one trade, you can get lucky and find someone willing to exchange multiple four- or five-star stickers for a six-star one. Use resources like the official Monopoly GO Discord for the chance of finding someone while also being cautious of potential scams.
Events and Community Chest
Another option is to participate in events like the Monopoly GO's revamped Community Chests, Partners Events, or Golden Blitz. At the time of writing, the Summer Escape season's team-based Community Chests are the only confirmed events that guarantee six-star packs. However, over time, there's a chance they'll appear in Tycoon Racers, Partner events, or even banner events as we approach the end of the season.
![]()
Similarly, Golden Blitz has a high chance of featuring gold six-star cards, so be on the lookout for those.
Card packs and Wild Stickers
As you play Monopoly GO, you may occasionally get lucky and find six-star stickers in regular card packs or Color Wheel's grand prize box. Although six-star packs guarantee you'll receive at least one, lower-tier ones still have a chance to, despite them being much rarer than other cards.
Swap packs also have the potential to give six-star stickers. However, Scopely has yet to confirm whether they'll make a reappearance during the current season. Nonetheless, if you find one during an event, you may get lucky and obtain a six-star.
You can also redeem Wild Stickers to claim a free six-star card. Wild Stickers let you obtain one of any unowned card you need to advance through your albums. While you can use these to obtain lower-tier stickers and complete a set, redeeming it for a six-star card instead can help make your life easier later on, especially if it's a golden card.
Shop offers and Tycoon Club
Last but not least, you can use rewards from Monopoly GO's in-game shop and Tycoon Club to get sticker packs. These can range anywhere from four- or five-star packs to Wild Stickers, depending on what's currently active. Although this comes with the downside of spending real money, it is an option if you're close to completing your album and don't mind occasionally buying items.

Hey Destructoid, and happy first weekend of July. It's that time of the week where we sit down and discuss our plans for the next few days and what we intend to play, whether it's something recently released, or something we are looking to dig deep into to pass the time.
First of all, happy July 4th weekend for everyone who celebrates it! Hope everyone has a good three-day weekend full of games and BBQ this time of year. But now, let's get on to the good part.
The start of July has been a bit slow for releases, but with the Steam Summer Sale ongoing, its the perfect time to buy a bunch of games we have been holding out for and work on any backlogs we have, ahead of the bigger releases coming out the next few weeks like Donkey Kong Bananza and Tony Hawk 3+4 Remake.
But enough about the future, let's discuss today.
I plan to play a bit more PEAK this weekend to try and clear some more of the harder Ascent levels by myself or with friends, while trying to secure the last of the achievements I need to get a filled-out sash. It's taking quite a while, and I like the challenge, so I'm hoping to tick off some more self-made challenges before the end of the weekend.
Outside of PEAK, there aren't really any other games I'm personally looking to play, even when I look at my backlog. I might try to have a few games of REMATCH with my little brother if we can both find the time, but nothing else really sticks out. So i'll waffle about what some of my colleagues have been up to, and then you all can let me know in the comments what your plans are so I can get some unique suggestions.
A few friends and colleagues are still trying to get through the recent PALWORLD update and get all the new Terraria items and Pals that were released in it. Some are also playing through some old retro games to pass the time, or trying out various Switch games that got patches on Switch 2 to improve their performance.
I used to speedrun Super Mario Odyssey, and with Donkey Kong Bananza being made by the same team, I might go back to that to find any moons I couldn't get previously when trying to 100 percent complete the game to get in the mood for later this month. Otherwise, I'm all out of ideas.

Handheld gaming has always been around, but lately it's been on a sharp upswing. With so many available handhelds these days, it can be difficult to pick just the right one, so we've compiled this quick list to help you select precisely what is right for you.
Table of contents
The best handheld gaming devices
Most capable - ROG Ally X
![]()
To kick things off, here we have perhaps the most powerful handheld gaming console available on the market. ASUS's long-standing ROG lineup of devices rarely disappoints, and the Ally X is one of their best offerings to date. This little beast packs a significant punch and proves, quite literally, that size really does not matter.
It is more or less a little PC running whatever version of Windows you wish to install on it. It's capable of running many games at a satisfying framerate, especially with upscalers like FSR 3.0, which enable it to play a wide array of titles. The device can also be used for emulation, making it a multipurpose handheld that allows you to enjoy both PC and console experiences.
The ROG Xbox Ally X is also on the way, the result of an Xbox-ASUS partnership. This new variant will significantly boost the Ally as a proper console and make it stand out among other handheld devices.
Best overall - Steam Deck OLED
![]()
Valve has made many great things over the years, from Steam itself to its numerous, industry-defining games. However, the Steam Deck is perhaps one of their best innovations to date, which has done so much to uplift Linux gaming and prove that games can and will run on just about anything if enough effort is made.
The Steam Deck, with Valve's active participation, runs on the exceptionally optimized, Linux-based Steam OS, which makes the device's battery unparalleled. Its resource utilization is almost exclusively meant for games, with little to no background processes running on the custom operating system. This means that games, those that Valve itself certifies, will run smoothly and without significant issues.
However, the drawback is that the device's hardware is starting to show its age. Upscaling technologies should ensure most games remain playable for the foreseeable future, but Valve should consider a proper Steam Deck 2 or other hardware upgrade to ensure longevity.
It can also emulate, just like the ROG Ally, and be repaired, tweaked, or otherwise customized to your heart's content.
Best console - Nintendo Switch 2
![]()
Whereas the top two devices are more or less smaller PCs, the second Nintendo Switch is anything but. The Japanese developer's latest console is also its greatest, running on customized Nvidia hardware and sporting a beautiful OLED display, which has proven more than capable of running even the most notoriously demanding titles, including Cyberpunk 2077.
Nintendo's extensive library of video games is also accessible without the need for any emulation, making the Switch 2 the ultimate Nintendo gaming device. However, this comes at a massive cost as the Nintendo Switch 2 has questionable pricing that demands payment even for the most mundane things, from online multiplayer to game upgrades to the new $80 price tag on upcoming releases.
However, for fans of Nintendo, this is the ultimate handheld that can and will provide endless use and fun via the massive Nintendo game library. FromSoftware is making a Switch 2-exclusive game as well, directed by Miyazaki himself, so fans of the company should keep that in mind.
Best for retro gaming - Analogue Pocket
![]()
While emulation is one of the easiest ways to experience classic games in 2025, playing stuff directly from a cartridge is simply better. The Analogue Pocket can do precisely that, with the downside of your having to actually obtain original game cartridges of whatever it is you wish to play.
Thankfully, the Analogue Pocket itself is quite cheap compared to the average handheld these days, meaning that a lot is left in your budget to go out and scout for cartridges. Keep in mind, though, that cartridges from certain manufacturers (Neo Geo, Sega Game Clear, etc.) require special adapters, though there are more than enough games you can play without them.
