Long after the seas had swallowed the continents and the stars had gone out, Eivor would still be finding new settlements to pillage and new cosmetics to play around with. But today Ubisoft announced the almost unthinkable: Assassin's Creed Valhalla has an end…

Ambitious Elden Ring mod Reborn is overhauling… basically everything

Elden Ring Reborn is shaping up to be the Elden Ring mod that might tempt you into a full replay of one of the best open-world games on PC this year. The massive overhaul project takes the FromSoftware game to a new level, aiming to "touch up every aspect of gameplay and add plenty of new content." While it's currently a work in progress, Elden Ring Reborn already has a huge amount going for it, and its developer hopes to entice fans to offer additional feedback and help make one of the best RPG games even better.

The Elden Ring Reborn mod, created by Halcyon (who goes by halcyonproject on Nexus Mods), is a long term project aiming to tweak or polish just about every aspect of FromSoftware's smash hit. Currently, the mod includes a large-scale spell overhaul, big talisman changes, universal slotting mechanics, a bow rework, new starting classes, significant changes to the stat and leveling system, enemy and boss rebalancing, and more.

Despite that rather lengthy list, Halcyon estimates that they have currently only tackled about 10% of the game. They are using their version numbers to estimate how far development of the mod has progressed - so this initial 0.100 release represents that 10% progress. Halcyon says that "the goal is to get to 1.0 and then hopefully follow it up with a cycle of brand new content up to 2.0."

Apex Legends players want character specific stat tracking

Apex Legends players are asking Respawn to give them a more detailed stat tracking breakdown so they can better reflect on their past performances. Apex Legends is one of the best battle royale games on PC right now, and the launch of Apex Legends season 14 has seen it continue to rise in popularity, with the Apex Legends player count for August reaching its highest levels yet.

While the game is clearly doing well, some players are asking for a feature that has long been absent from the game despite featuring heavily in Respawn Entertainment's previous game, Titanfall 2 - detailed stat tracking. Titanfall 2 launched without a stat tracking feature due to development deadlines, but introduced it soon after launch (and recorded players' statistics in the meantime, so none were lost).

Apex Legends, however, only offers one basic stats screen. You can see a few details for each of the available modes - your lifetime games played, total number of wins, and amount of times you've made it to the top five. You can also see your total damage dealt and kills obtained, as well as your average kill/death ratio and a small handful of other stats. You can also see a breakdown of these per season - but they're taken across your whole account, and don't consider the wide range of Apex Legends characters on offer to play.

Shatterline tier list: the best characters for PvP and PvE

A Shatterline tier list to figure out who the best characters are at this early stage of the meta is incredibly important if you want to dominate the free-to-play FPS game. This hero shooter has eight characters, known as operatives, to choose from, each with their own unique abilities, along with some they share with others depending on the category they fall into.

A different approach is needed depending on which game mode you're playing though, because the PvP Versus playlist is incredibly fast paced and has you test your mettle against other players online in a variety of objective-based. Meanwhile, Expeditions is PvE focused, fighting against both creatures and enemy soldiers alike as you complete objectives in a huge open-world map. It's too early to tell whether this deserves a spot in our best free PC games list, but make sure you follow this Shatterline tier list if you're playing this innovative shooter.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Toy Story and Lion King expansions revealed

Disney Dreamlight Valley Toy Story and Lion King expansion content has been revealed for the Animal Crossing like game following its release on Steam Early Access and PC Game Pass. The new arrival is already looking to claim a spot among the best life games on PC, and Gameloft lead producer Manea Castet describes the potential pool of Disney characters as "an almost unlimited source of creativity" for the team to work with in an interview following the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase on September 9.

"There are many, many Disney and Pixar movies that are great, with great characters," Castet says in an interview with IGN. "We have many, many plans to expand the roster and add additional characters, additional stories, and so on." Fans will certainly be excited about the potential roster of famous faces and magical places that might be on their way to Dreamlight Valley in the coming months and years.

Castet continues, describing one addition that fans can expect to see soon that involves the magical doors in the Dream Castle at the heart of Dreamlight Valley. "Behind each door there is one Disney film - so it's a little bubble inspired by a Disney or Pixar movie, where you will meet these characters, have fun, solve some mysteries and puzzles. When you've finished, they come into your valley and have their own little story in the valley also."

Best Destiny 2 Hunter builds for PvP and PvE in Arc 3.0

The best Destiny 2 Hunter builds are more potent than ever within the FPS game. The game's relatively recent introduction of aspects and fragments means players have tons of tools in their toolkits to customise their builds to conform with their playstyles.

Our Destiny 2 Hunter build guide takes a deep look at the numerous ways players can develop their characters, culminating in the most powerful builds possible. These are all based on the current Arc 3.0 meta, but some players find the Arc 3.0 overhaul weaker than Bungie granted with the Solar and Void revamps from the previous seasons. So, we've developed the strongest builds based on the tools we have at our disposal this season.

As was leaked, and then hurriedly confirmed by Ubisoft about a week ago, the next Assassin's Creed game to come out will be Mirage, in 2023. It's not going to be quite the massive open world adventure 'em up that the last few entries have been (don't worry; one of those is on the way as well), but a more classic AssCreed experience to mark the series' 15th anniversary. This milestone has made me realise that the Creedsperience has taken up almost half of my current lifespan. Or, to put it another way, I fear that playing Assassin's Creed Mirage may induce a pathetic but very real existential crisis in me.

A not-insignificant part of the Ubisoft Forward livestream tonight was dedicated to Assassin's Creed. To celebrate the doughty action-adventure's 15th anniversary, senior community developer Alice Terrett was joined by a, to his credit, very excited Danny "it's the Daddy" Wallace, to lay out an almost MCU-like timeline of every Assassin's Creed thing happening for the next good while. It includes new DLC for Valhalla, and a mysterious horror-ish tease. But top of the list, after next year's more trad and compact Assassin's Creed Mirage, is Assassin's Creed: Codename Red, the next big flagship open-world RPG for the series. And it's set in feudal Japan.

About a year ago we learned about the existence of something called Assassin's Creed Infinity (or, more precisely, Project Infinity, but we're all just calling it Infinity). Stranger of Paradise DLC

The next expansion mission for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is coming soon. On Friday Square Enix detailed the second Stranger of Paradise DLC, Wanderer of the Rift. Following from The Trials of the Dragon King in July, the new mission adds a familiar Final Fantasy character: Gilgamesh.

Check out a trailer for the Stranger of Paradise DLC below.

Note that some of the scenes shown may constitute spoilers for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zehOwIgecBk

As shown in the trailer and a piece of key art uploaded to the official Final Fantasy Origin Twitter account, the Stranger of Paradise: Wanderer of the Rift DLC features Gilgamesh. The character first appeared in Final Fantasy V, and has made cameos or played roles in most Final Fantasy titles since. Though his appearance has varied, this version of Gilgamesh matches his most common and recognized design. Dressed in red-orange armor, with a style that evokes the appearance the legendary Japanese warrior-monk Benkei, and a white-painted face with red stripes in the Kabuki fashion.

The trailer briefly shows glimpses of Jack's fight with the legendary warrior who passes through a dimensional rift. Gilgamesh uses some of his signature attacks, which are based on his reputation as a collector of legendary weapons. He uses Zantetsuken, and poses with it, while his character design holds his trademark naginata polearm. He also uses a move called Gigasplode.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Wanderer of the Rift DLC expansion launches on October 26, 2022. It's only available by purchasing the Season Pass, which also unlocks Trials of the Dragon King and the next DLC expansion, Different Future. Check out Siliconera's official review of the base game.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is Basim's story. The character first showed up in Assassin's Creed Valhalla as a seasoned assassin. Mirage tells the tale on how he got to that point, starting from the day he removed his ring finger — a traditional method of the Hidden Ones.   The story is set 20 years before the events of Valhalla. In the game, Basim meets with his new mentor, Roshan, voiced by Emmy-winning actor Shohreh Aghdashloo.      Blizzard responds to Diablo Immortal bug stopping purchases

Blizzard confirms that a Diablo Immortal bug affecting the fantasy game's in-game store has led to some purchases not processing correctly, meaning that players were not receiving items after buying Diablo Immortal microtransactions in a small number of cases. The team says that a hotfix has been deployed to prevent the issue from occurring in future, and that affected players will now have their items delivered in the ARPG game.

A number of players have recently reported an issue where purchases of Diablo Immortal Eternal Orbs were not being correctly delivered in-game. One player on the Diablo Immortal subreddit highlighted this issue in a post, saying, "I've made many purchases of 7,200 Eternal Orbs with all the transactions successful," referring to the most expensive bundle on offer (priced at $99.99 USD / £89.99 GBP). The player even notes that "I purchased the legitimate kind at $99.99 each," in a cheeky nod to a recent clampdown that saw Diablo Immortal whales punished for purchasing cheap orbs through third-party sellers.

The player then explains that a purchase made through the Google Play store "went through successfully for $99.99, but did not get delivered in-game. When you try to repurchase the orbs it says that the item is already owned and displays an error message." Several other players echoed this issue, saying they had run into a similar problem.

fate/grand order shin-yamataikoku

Lasengle has hinted at a new upcoming Gudaguda event for the Japanese server of Fate/Grand Order. The event's name is "Overwhelming Tea Ceremony Battle: Gudaguda Shin Yamataikoku - The Man Who Returned from Hell -." It will debut in-game from mid-September 2022. [Thanks, Gamer!]

So far, there is very limited information on the new Gudaguda event. Gudaguda Servants such as Nobunaga, Ryoma, and Okita will receive bonuses. These bonuses will allow them to deal more damage, as well as gain more bond points per battle. More information will appear during the Gudaguda Shin Yamataikoku Chaldea broadcast. It will air on September 14, 2022 from 19:00 JST, which is 3:00 AM PST/6:00 AM EST.

Check out a teaser for the broadcast below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdLPNABafbw

The Shin Yamatai-koku event will be a continuation of the one that originally came out on the Japanese server in 2020. Coincidentally enough, the North American server will debut the localized version of the Yamataikoku event from September 14, 2022. This event will introduce new Servants Himiko (Ruler) and Saito Hajime (Saber).

In order to access the Shin Yamataikoku event, Masters will need to have first completed Lostbelt No. 4. It is unknown if there will be a free Servant to obtain from this event. Finishing the story for the first one did not garner players a new addition to their roster. Instead, the first Yamataikoku event placed Nobukatsu in the free summoning banner for a limited time.

The Overwhelming Tea Ceremony Battle: Gudaguda Shin Yamataikoku event will debut in mid-September 2022 on the Japanese server of Fate/Grand Order. More information will appear on September 14, 2022. Fate/Grand Order is available on mobile devices.

splatoon 3 save data

Nintendo has released a public warning of sorts in regards to transferring save data to Splatoon 3, which went on sale on September 9th. A single Nintendo account can only transfer save data once. Another thing to keep in mind that during the transfer process, if you choose 'cancel' at the confirmation screen, you will never be able to transfer it again. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Even if you try to delete your save data and create a new one, you cannot try again. Because each Nintendo account only has a single attempt, you must transfer it when you get to the confirmation screen. The save data screen will appear as soon as you start up Splatoon 3 so that is when you must move things over.

https://twitter.com/nintendo_cs/status/1568136364738363392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1568136364738363392%7Ctwgr%5E77bada563f5051c3b93d21b8fce5e5d62df25d00%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.famitsu.com%2Fnews%2F202209%2F09275358.html

If you played Splatoon 2 on the same Switch console with the same user data, you can get bonuses when you start Splatoon 3. You will automatically get three "Gold Sheldon Licenses" redeemable for main weapons, as well as gain access to Anarchy Battles. These bonuses mainly allow Splatoon 2 veterans to get right into the fray. As well, depending on their rank in Splatoon 2, they will be able to match with players of an appropriate skill level from earlier. All players will naturally be able to obtain these weapons and play Anarchy Battles through playing the game normally, though.

Splatoon 3 is available on the Nintendo Switch.
