With GTA 6 absent, criminal life sim Schedule 1 is Steam's latest viral hit

The wait for GTA 6, and Rockstar's agonizing silence, continues, and I can't help but wonder if that's got a big part to play in the unexpected rise of Schedule 1, a basic-looking but surprisingly deep life sim where you aim to become a drug-dealing kingpin. After launching earlier this week, it's been putting up increasingly impressive daily player count figures, but today, March 28, has seen it blow up to new levels. Surging past some of the biggest games on Steam, Schedule 1 has comfortably broken the 200,000 concurrent player mark.

The First Berserker Khazan is sitting on a better Steam score than Elden Ring

For soulslike fans, 2025 is proving to be a gem of a year. Elden Ring Nightreign, the co-op spinoff of arguably the best game in the genre, is on the way, as is a new DLC for Lies of P. Some brand new names are entering the arena too, such as Wuchang Fallen Feathers, Ballad of Antara, and one that you can play right now, The First Berserker Khazan. Released this week, Neople's new action RPG is going down a storm on Steam and seeing some decent player count figures. What's more impressive though is its user rating, which is currently sitting above Elden Ring's.

snow miku 2026 vote

Good Smile Company has opened up the poll for the Snow Miku 2026 outfit. The winner of this poll will appear as a Nendoroid in the future, as well as on merchandising.

The final selection of outfits includes designs for both Miku and the snow rabbit Yukine. For 2026, the Snow Miku theme is Patisserie of Happiness, so all of the Mikus either look like they're working in a bakery, or they draw inspiration from baked goods. For example, the designer for the third entry states that they drew her to resemble a rare cheesecake with blueberries from Hokkaido.

The voting period will last until April 7, 2025. You don't need to submit any information to vote, and you can only vote once. Results will be announced in August 2025.

Snow Miku first appeared in 2010, though voting to decide on the annual design began in 2012. You could choose based on personal preference, or whichever one you thought best fit the theme of that year. From 2014, each Snow Miku also started getting their own theme songs and music videos. Aside from appearing as Nendoroids or figures, Snow Mikus can appear in games like Project Diva as a Module you can put on Hatsune Miku.

You can read a breakdown of the history of Snow Miku, as well as the previous design winners, here.

pokemon pikachu flower arrangements

For Mother's Day 2025, the Pokemon Center in Japan will let you show your appreciation for your mom with Pikachu flower arrangements. You can choose either fresh flowers or preserved ones.

Both arrangements feature a flower Pikachu surrounded by pink, red, and white. Decals on the yellow pom pom mum are what makes it look like the Pokemon. So you can't keep the Pikachu itself forever. However, the pot that the fresh arrangement comes in can be reused as decoration, as it's a wooden planter with a laser-printed Pikachu design on it. The preserved flowers have a card instead, and can last a year. You should avoid placing it in direct sunlight or in humid places, though. Since they're flowers, The Pokemon Center will only accept domestic orders.

Pre-orders will end on May 1, 2025, and the flowers will ship out from May 7, 2025. The fresh flowers cost 7260 JPY ($48.50), and use carnations and baby's breath. Meanwhile, the preserved flower arrangement costs 8910 JPY ($59.55), and use carnations, roses, and hydrangea. Aside from differences in the planter, the fresh flowers are much larger, standing at 18 cm. The preserved flower arrangement is only around 11 cm tall.

The newest entry in the Pokemon game series, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, will come out for the Nintendo Switch in Fall 2025.

Riku Fights in Kingdom Hearts 2 Form-Ism Figure

Square Enix opened pre-orders for a new Kingdom Hearts 2 Form-Ism figure of Riku. The figure costs 7,480 yen (or approximately $49.85), and it is expected to release on August 30, 2025. So far, orders are only open in Japan and the US storefront hasn't updated yet.

The static figure shows Riku in his KH2 design, striking a combat pose while wielding his signature Way to the Dawn keyblade. Riku is posed on a purple platform in the shape of the Heartless sigil, which is in turn posed on top of a basic circular base.

So far, the figure has only seen a page open on the Japanese Square Enix storefront. However, AmiAmi has a listing for the figure, and the website offers international shipping through its English website.

You can check out the new KH2 Form-Ism figure of Riku here:

Square Enix previously announced another Kingdom Hearts 2 Form-Ism figure of Sora back in late October 2024. The Sora figure is set to release on late April 2025 in Japan, and it is still available from the Japanese Square Enix online store.

The Kingdom Hearts II Riku Form-Ism figure costs 7,480 yen (~$49.85) and is now available for pre-order from the Square Enix online store and from AmiAmi. The figure will be available worldwide on August 2025.

HoYoVerse will also make it easier to obtain some useful limited 5-star characters. You'll be able to get them in the Exchange Shop by trading in either a Golden Companion Spirit or a Light Cone Memory Shard. The Golden Companion Spirit is also one of the bonuses you can get for a limited time when you collect Oneiric Shards, which you can only get via in-game purchases.

From Version 3.2 to Version 3.4, you can trade in a Golden Companion Spirit to obtain either Luocha or Ruan Mei. Other limited 5-stars will appear in the Exchange Shop after Version 3.4, if you're not interested in them. You can also use 4 Light Cone Memory Shards to exchange for limited 5-star Light Cones. The first batch of Light Cones will be: "Past Self in Mirror", "She Already Shut Her Eyes", "The Unreachable Side", "Echoes of the Coffin", and "In the Night." In other words, you can get the signature Light Cones for Fu Xuan, Luocha, Ruan Mei, Blade, or Seele.

Ruan Mei is an Ice Harmony with universal party-wide buffs, and a particular specialty in increasing Break DMG and Weakness Break Efficiency. She is a fantastic support for a large number of characters. Luocha is an Imaginary Abundance character whose Ultimate creates a field that can heal the party or a character whenever you attack. Though he became less popular as other sustain options became available, he's been experiencing a renaissance with the introduction of new 5-star Destruction character, Mydei.

After the Version 3.2 update, you can also choose which character you get if you lose your 50/50. If, for example, you'd rather not keep getting Yanqing or Bailu after losing your 5-stars, you can set this to someone else. You can also choose to get Blade, Fu Xuan, or Seele, who were all limited 5-stars in the past.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Square Enix Selling FFXIV TTRPG Scenario and Gamemaster Guide Final Fantasy XIV tabletop RPG

The Final Fantasy XIV Tabletop RPG is so successful that Square Enix now selling a FFXIV TTRPG Scenario and Gamemaster Guide to build on it. The book will be available alone for $69.99 or in a $189.99 deluxe edition that includes additional items for running campaigns. Both options will be available in January 2026. So you can create your own scenarios and FATES, develop new rules, design rewards, set up Challenge Duties, and work on Personal Quests for your players. There are also items for existing elements of the game present. So there are details about adding creatures from the base MMORPG and Heavensward expansion. You also get three more premade scenarios and eleven FATES, while you work on designing your own.

The deluxe edition of the FFXIV TTRPG Scenario and Gamemaster Guide basically comes with items we would need to actually play through a full campaign. You get eight encounter maps, 430 character token punchouts to represent characters and monsters, and 36 token stands of varying sizes to hold them on the table.

Here are the first photos of the new book and its deluxe edition that Square Enix shared with us:

The third The Legend of Heroes Calvard game, known as Kai no Kiseki, is headed westward as Trails Beyond the Horizon this year.

NIS America and Nihon Falcom officially confirmed that Kai no Kiseki is headed westward as The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon in Fall 2025. We'll see it on the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. The official website is already open as well. This means it will appear in the same year as the second entry in the series, Trails Through Daybreak 2.

This is the third part in the Calvard arc, which means that Van Arkride and Agnes Claudel will remain two of the principle characters. However, now that it involves Zemuria as a whole and space travel, we're seeing characters from Liberl and Erebonia arcs stepping up and playing equally important roles. Likewise, the Grim Garten section will offer even more crossover opportunities as we pull together parties for exploring a special dungeon.

Here's the first The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon trailer showing what the English version of Kai no Kiseki will look like.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8wfZrV854Q&ab_channel=NISAmerica

A limited edition physical copy is also confirmed. This will include the deluxe edition of the game and physical items. In addition to the expected art book, Steelbook case and soundtrack typical of such releases, there will also be an acrylic clock based on the Grim Timekeeper.

The other two games in the Calvard arc of The Legend of Heroes series are already available in English. The first entry, Trails Through Daybreak, introduced Van and Agnes in July 2024. The follow-up Trails Through Daybreak 2 continued their story in February 2025. While the focus is on the new region and characters, people from past games started to show up and will return in this new installment.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon will come to the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC in Fall 2025, and Kai no Kiseki is already available in Japan on the PS4 and PS5.

Tetsuya Nomura Shares Kingdom Hearts Paopu Fruit Secret

The Kingdom Hearts series celebrated its 23rd anniversary on March 28, 2025, and series creator Tetsuya Nomura shared a secret about the name of the Paopu fruit. A post by the official Kingdom Hearts social media account in Japan revealed the origin of the fruit's name over two decades after the release of the first game.

In the post, the Square Enix PR team asks Nomura if there are any undisclosed stories about the Paopu fruit, to which Nomura replied with "About the Paradise of promise?" The developer then questioned himself on whether it was "paradise of promise" or "paradise of pure." The message revealed that "Paopu" is a blend word. Aside from sharing this trivia, it seems like Square Enix doesn't have any plans to celebrate the series' anniversary this year.

In the Kingdom Hearts games, the star-shaped Paopu fruit grows exclusively on the Destiny Islands, where Sora and Riku grew up in and where Kairi moved in as a child. The legend tells that if two people share one their destinies become linked forever. Sora and Kairi shared a fruit in Kingdom Hearts 3.

The Kingdom Hearts series is readily available on PS4, Xbox One, Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming.

Toys R Us Stores Re-Opening in Japan

Toys "R" Us announced that four stores will re-open in Japan between March and April 2025. Various stores from the toys and children's goods specialty franchise temporarily closed for renovations. They are now poised to return throughout the country.

The four stores will act as Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us double locations. This means that, in addition to selling toys, the stores will also offer children's clothing and baby products. This is also similar to how many of the locations used to function when they appeared in the US and worldwide.

Here are the locations of the four Toys "R" Us stores returning to Japan, as well as their re-opening dates:

  • Kisogawa store (Aichi Prefecture) – March 28, 2025
  • Morioka Minami (Iwate Prefecture) – April 18, 2025
  • Tressa Yokohama store (Kanagawa Prefecture) – April 25, 2025
  • Fukuoka Kasuya store (Fukuoka Prefecture) – April 25, 2025

Toys "R" Us filed for bankruptcy back in 2017 and 2018, and all stores throughout the US, UK, and Australia closed by the end of 2021. The retail store was less affected in Asia, where locations still remained opened after the closure of the American, European, and Australian stores. Toys "R" Us stores have slowly started to reappear in the US since August 2021 in the form of smaller locations, flagship stores, and pop-up stores.

Toys "R" Us Japan will re-open 4 stores between March and April 2025 after temporarily closing them for renovations.

Fullmetal Alchemist Shou, Nina, and Alexander Figures Feature Spoilers

Good Smile Company shared a new Fullmetal Alchemist Pop Up Parade figure set of Shou Tucker, his daughter Nina, and their dog Alexander, however it also features one of the more notable spoilers from the series. Its design is based on their anime appearances. The set of figures costs ¥6,800 / $53.99. It'll debut first in Japan in October 2025, and we'll see the it start to show up worldwide likely by Q1 2026.

Editor's Note: There will be spoilers for what happens to Shou and Nina Tucker and Alexander in Fullmetal Alchemist below.

While this Fullmetal Alchemist Pop Up Parade set does technically showcase the full Tucker family and their pet, it actually is a pair of figures consisting of Shou and Nina Chimera. In the series, that's the hybrid between Nina and the family's dog Alexander as a result of her father's experiments. The Shou figure stands at about 7 inches tall. While no height is mentioned for Nina Chimera, it appears to be about half that size.

There are no additional parts included with this set. However, each figure is individual and comes with its own stand. So you could choose to just display Shou or Nina Chimera.

Here's how the family looks:

This isn't the only Good Smile Company Fullmetal Alchemist item on the way, as the company announced two Nendoroids are coming back. It will sell the Edward and Alphonse Elric ones again. Ed will be ¥6,300/$50.99, while Al will be ¥7,200/$55.99. The difference between the two is based on size and extra parts, given Al is a full suit of armor. Both come with additional items if you buy direct through Good Smile Company, with Ed including a spiked bat and Ed getting a suitcase. Those will return in October 2025 in Japan and Q1 2026 worldwide. Other figures include Nendoroid Dolls of the brothers and a Nendoroid of Winry Rockbell.

The Fullmetal Alchemist Shou Tucker and Nina Chimera Pop Up Parade figure set will launch in Japan in October 2025 and worldwide in Q1 2026. Pre-orders close on April 23, 2025. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll. You can get the manga digitally through YenPress outside Japan.

The other way to get weapons instantly is by enabling and using console commands. You can check our guide for the full list of Schedule 1 console commands and how to get them.

Right after you have installed the mod to enable console commands, press F8 and type "give weaponname" to get your desired weapon. For example, if you want an M1911, you need to type "give M1911," and you will get the weapon.

Preview of the mobile and the keyboard control layout in the Azure Latch Roblox experience

Getting comfortable with the controls is tough when getting into a new Roblox game—the same counts for Azure Latch. Especially so if you take into consideration that you will face many veteran players. With that in mind, we prepared the following Azure Latch controls guide to help you get familiar with them in no time.

All Azure Latch Controls for Keyboard and Mobile

Below, you can check out all of the Azure Latch keyboard and mobile controls. The controls function in the same way, no matter what you prefer to play on. However, for optimal experience, you want to use a mouse and a keyboard if possible.

Azure Latch Player and Goalkeeper Controls Explained

In Azure Latch, controls differ depending on whether you play as a player or a goalkeeper. Below, you can find all of the differences between the two, as well as a bit more information about each move on its own.

Player Controls

As a player, you have reduced movement speed while holding the ball. To curve your shots, hold either the A or the D key and aim slightly upwards. You can also switch between the "Normal" and the "Header" modes and adjust how your character reacts when hitting the ball in the air. In general, you will stay in the "Normal" mode for most of the game.

Move Details Cooldown iFrames
Normal/Header [E (Without Ball)] • Switch between the Normal and Header modes None No
Shoot [M1] • Shoot the ball forward None No
Curve Shot [A/D+M1 (Look Up)] • Shoot a curveball None No
Rainbow Flick [Space] • Flick the ball over your head 2.5s No
Dribble [E] • Dash forward and dribble past an opponent
• Breaks opponent's ankles
2.75s Yes
Tackle [Q] • You tackle forward and potentially steal the ball
• If successful, stuns the opponent
3.5s No
Side Dash [A/D+Q] • You dash to the side 2s No
Speed Burst [F] • You gain a burst of speed and dash forward 5s Yes
Flow/Awakening [G] • Temporarily unlocks Awakening Moves 50s Yes
Call Pass [R] • You ask for a pass 1.5s No

Goalkeeper Controls

As a goalkeeper, no one can tackle you or steal a ball away from you while inside the box. If you hold the ball for too long, eventually, you will use the Super Throw. Finally, while on the goal, you can see two things other players can't:

  • The yellow box, which signifies where a ball will land.
  • The white line extending from a player currently in possession, which shows you where they are aiming.

Move Details Cooldown
Jump Block [Space] • Let's you block aerial balls None
Forward Dive [Q] • Intercept the ball in front of you 1.5s
Left Dive [A+Q] • Dive to the left and catch the ball None
Right Dive [D+Q] • Dive to the right and catch the ball None
Super Throw [T] • Throw the ball a long way forward None

Does Azure Latch Have Controller Support?

Unfortunately, even though Azure Latch does have controller support, all of the controls are bugged while using one. The only two things you can actually do are flick the ball and shoot, and that's about it. So, for now, play Azure Latch either on a mobile device or with a keyboard and a mouse. Hopefully, the developers will resolve the controller layout issue soon. When they do, we will update this article with more information.

That sums up everything you need to know about Azure Latch controls. Now, you are ready to get on the pitch and show everyone who is the real egoist. If you want to get yourself one of the best styles right away, then make sure to redeem our Azure Latch codes.

Scenic in-game image of Westville in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 originated as a PC game on Steam. While most will default to playing with a keyboard and mouse, some prefer using a controller because it fits comfortably in your hands and has fewer buttons to press. But that all depends on whether Schedule 1 has controller support.

Can you play Schedule 1 with a controller?

At the time of writing, Schedule 1 doesn't have official controller support. It also isn't officially Steam Deck compatible, so you won't be able to play from the comforts of your bed, couch, or other relaxing spots. Its Steam page also confirms it wasn't initially designed with controller or Steam Deck support in mind.

Schedule 1 controller support Trello card
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you attempt to enter the game with a controller plugged in, you'll be unable to move or interact with anything. None of the inputs will activate, so you can't mix and match your devices. You'll have to stick to keyboard and mouse until TVGS adds support for controllers or Steam Deck.

Fortunately, according to TVGS' Trello board, controller and Steam Deck support are planned for the future. On the Schedule 1 Trello, TVGS has both controller support and official Steam Deck support listed as smaller additions and improvements to the game alongside other features like in-game voice chat, emotes, and a rideable wheelchair. You can check this Trello page periodically for updates on future planned content.

Much of this depends on whether Schedule 1 will arrive on PS5 and Xbox X/S. If TVGS confirms a port to either of these platforms is coming in the future, there's a good chance he'll introduce controller support at the same time, if not earlier. Until then, you can watch the game's community hub for regular bug fix patches and updates or keep an eye on this page for the latest details about Schedule 1's controller and Steam Deck support status.

The warehouse in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 gives you several options for packaging your product. Bags and jars can move an impressive amount of product well enough. But if you're looking to shove a baker's dozen of your favorite items into a single inventory slot, you'll have to learn how to pack them into bricks.

Making bricks isn't an easy art to master, and if you don't know how to use them effectively, you'll spend a lot of time and resources on something that won't make much money. Here's how to create and use bricks in Schedule 1.

How to get a Brick Press in Schedule 1

Oscar from Schedule 1.
Image via Destructoid

Unlike bags and jars, only the Brick Press can make bricks. Like most heavy-grade manufacturing machines in Schedule 1, you can buy it from Oscar at the Warehouse for $800. You won't be able to buy a Brick Press until you've reached Bagman V rank, so you'll have to build up a solid rep first.

How to make bricks in Schedule 1

Operating the Brick Press was awkward before Schedule 1's first major update went live. The minigames you play to work every non-automatic machine are finicky by design to encourage you to invest in upgraded, automatic versions. The Brick Press minigame was a few paces south of downright unplayable pre-update. If luck didn't feel like throwing you a bone, you'd make a brick that wouldn't go into your inventory and waste armfuls of product. Thanks to the update, this doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.

To make bricks, bring the items you want to brick up to the Brick Press and press "E" to start the mini-game. Use your mouse to pick up the buckets with your product, pour them into the mold, and then bring down the big press to finish the brick. It's not as dangerous as cooking some substances, but it takes almost as much finesse.

How to make the most out of bricks in Schedule 1

Benji in Schedule 1
Screenshot via Destructoid

You can store up to forty units of product in a single brick, but most of your customers won't want to accept that much from you if you try to deal with them face-to-face. The best way to get around this is to reserve your bricks for your dealers. Through some magic I can't imagine, your dealers will break your brick into fair portions that will reach your customers. This means you don't have to worry about being seen dealing by the cops and risk losing all the product on you.

Once you've mastered making bricks, you can move a large amount of product among your customers, giving you more time to experiment with new mixer combinations or launder the money you need to buy said mixers.

A view from above of the city in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1 has certainly taken the world of PC gaming by surprise, but there's bad news if you use a Mac for your daily chores.

While Apple's Macs are pretty powerful and do a variety of tasks pretty well, they have certain limitations when it comes to gaming. While recent AAA titles like Assassin's Creed Shadows are available for Apple computers, the drug business simulator is not available on Mac as of writing.

Why is Schedule 1 not on Mac?

It's very hard to say why Schedule 1 isn't on Mac because the average requirements of the game aren't very high. However, it's only available on Windows at the moment, and you can buy the game from Steam. Typically, it requires a lot of extra work to make a port that will work on a Mac. The devices operate on a separate OS, which makes it impossible for a Windows executable to run on it without extra work.

It's uncertain as to if and when Schedule 1 makes its way to Mac. I don't think it will, but a console launch eventually is certainly possible. Having the simulator on Xbox and PS5 will be great for the game's life cycle as well.

Schedule 1 car
Screenshot by Destructoid

How to play Schedule 1 on Mac?

While there's no native support for the game on a Mac, there's a workaround. You'll have to use a virtualization tool, and I will recommend Whisky. There are some alternatives available on the market, but Whisky is my choice.

If you haven't got a VM set up already on your device, make sure to follow the instructions properly. All VMs have plenty of tutorials available on the internet, so you can always refer to them if you get stuck. There are certain points to keep in mind if you manage to run Schedule 1 on your Mac.

Since there's no native support for the game, the performance will be extremely choppy. There's always a chance for excessive stutters and crashes, and the performance also depends on the specifications of your device. I won't attempt to run the game if your Mac has less than 16GB of RAM.

Unless you're desperate to play the game, it's best not to take any undue risk that might jeopardize the safety of your Apple device.

Kali Sticks Warzone BO6

The Kali Sticks are making a horrifying return to Call of Duty in season three of Black Ops 6 and Warzone, and I'm not quite sure how to feel about it.

I sometimes still have nightmares about these melee weapons, which received a much-needed nerf after being a pain in the butt for quite some time in the original Warzone, as fun as it was to run up on an unsuspecting enemy and beat them senseless with your teammates.

"The infamous Kali Sticks return, dealing out damage with rapid swings that'll take down your target in a flash," Activision said. "Smack them with fast follow-up hits using the weapon's light attack or take them out in a more dramatic fashion by unleashing the heavy attack. Use Kali Sticks in multiplayer with the new Close Shave Perk to deploy a quick whack against enemies without having to manually swap to your Dedicated Melee slot first."

Here's how to bring your own sticks to your gunfights in Warzone and BO6.

How to get the Kali Sticks in BO6 and Warzone

Warzone Operators
Image via Activision

The Kali Sticks melee weapon is the Mastery Reward for the Return to Verdansk event in Warzone, which runs from April 3 to 15. It is the final reward you can earn after unlocking the other 12 items first (13 if you include the Kilo 141, which you get for free upon logging in to Warzone once its servers return on April 3).

In Return to Verdansk, all 12 rewards are tied to a specific POI on the map. Each POI is as follows: Dam, Military Base, Quarry, Storage Town, Superstore, Stadium, Train Station, Hospital, Downtown, Hills, Port, and Prison.

Within each POI, you must search and find Hidden Safes to try and find that area's specific reward. Each time you open a safe, you will have the chance to receive supply loot, a specific zone reward, or a redacted "special reward."

Warzone Return to Verdansk event map
Image via Activision

Here's the full list of every reward you need to get before gaining access to the Kali Sticks:

  • Loading Screen: "Let's Plan Something!"
  • Emblem: "Jarvdinsk Spomenik"
  • Calling Card: "Lumberjack Legends"
  • Weapon Decal: "Deathly Chill Return"
  • Weapon Charm: "With Fries, Please"
  • Calling Card: "Breaking News"
  • Finishing Move: "The Back Adjustment"
  • Spray: "Love 4 Tha Game"
  • Emote: "Cheering the Squad"
  • Token: Double XP Token (45 minutes)
  • Sticker: "Shipping to Verdansk"
  • Calling Card: "Wheel of Glory"

Simply remain vigilant and persistent in running around the map and trying to find these hidden safes to hopefully get the POI's reward before moving on to the next one. A good mode for this is Plunder, which has respawn enabled, allowing you to move around the map with ease without getting punished too hard for dying.

Make sure to equip the Kali Sticks in your dedicated melee slot in your loadouts once you have it to bring them to every fight because they're pretty good for saving up ammo by taking down downed enemies with a few quick whacks instead of firing your gun.

BO6 CR-56 AMAX Warzone

The CR-56 AMAX is about to be in your hands in Call of Duty. You either stepped into a time machine, or you're playing season three of Black Ops 6.

One of Warzone's most legendary weapons, the CR-56 AMAX is a part of season three, which is all about throwing back to Verdansk as the classic BR map returns along with several quality of life updates to celebrate the free-to-play mode's fifth birthday.

The CR-56 AMAX was a dominant meta weapon for several seasons back in the day. This time, Activision describes it as a "lightweight 7.62 x 39mm full-auto assault rifle" that is "compact and powerful." The newest AR in BO6 and Warzone is "exclusively for military use" and "deadly at mid-range combat and easily configured for a variety of assault tactics."

"Combining high-damage hits with a fast fire rate and good handling, the CR-56 AMAX is the perfect mid-range weapon for downing targets fast," Activision said. "Eliminate enemies in three to four shots up to 25 meters out, leaving plenty left over to chew through equipped armor. Quick reloads get you back into the action fast, a helpful trait no matter how you choose to customize the weapon via Gunsmith."

If this gun is anything like its original counterpart, we may have an all-new meta in BO6 and Warzone. Here's how to get it in your own loadout.

How to get the CR-56 AMAX in BO6 and Warzone

Season three BO6 battle pass screen
Screenshot by Destructoid

The CR-56 AMAX is available in the season three battle pass as the high value target (HVT) on page six, but it will also inevitably be included in a store bundle surrounding season three's launch.

In BO6 battle passes, the HVT is the final reward you can unlock once you have everything else on that page. Work through the pages by gaining battle pass XP by playing the game (and using double battle pass XP tokens if you have them) to earn tokens to unlock rewards.

Once you unlock all of the rewards on page six, you can then use another token to unlock the CR-56 AMAX, and it will then become available in your weapons menu under assault rifles. Now it's time to use those double weapon XP tokens to level it up.

As you level up and work through the battle pass by unlocking individual rewards, you can skip pages once you reach a certain number of items unlocked. Once you can access page six, jump to it immediately and begin unlocking its items so that you can get the CR-56 AMAX as soon as possible because it's going to be strong.

Once season three comes to an end, the AMAX will become available to obtain as an Armory Unlock in BO6. To access Armory Unlocks in BO6, navigate to Barracks, select Challenges, and then select Armory. Here, you will find any unlocks from past seasons or events that you haven't obtained yet. Select the CR-56 AMAX (or whichever item you wish to unlock) as your active Armory Challenge and then a set amount of XP to unlock it to add to your collection.

Season three of BO6 goes live on April 2 at 12pm ET.

An image of a deer in inZOI

Having a cute, fluffy friend to join your inZOI character on their adventures makes life that much more heartwarming. However, while you can have animals in your world and watch them wander around the environment, whether you can own a pet is an entirely different story.

Can you get pets in inZOI?

At the time of writing, inZOI doesn't let you own pets. You can add wild animals to your world, but you can't adopt a pet and have it live with you. There's no word on an exact release date for them or whether they'll be part of the game's base game, but Krafton has confirmed they'll appear eventually.

As detailed in Krafton's Discord FAQ channels, pets were not available during inZOI's initial Early Access launch but are a "high priority for future updates." In short, while we don't have them yet, we'll probably get them either during inZOI's later EA stages or after its full release.

How to place animals in your city in inZOI

Although you can't adopt pets, you can add wild animals to your world. Here's a complete step-by-step to placing animals in your inZOI map:

  1. Select Edit City at the bottom-right corner of your screen or press M on PC.
  2. Tap City Appearance.
  3. Go to Animals.
  4. Select up to three animals to add to your town.
  5. Change the density to match your preferences.

InZoi's city appearance menu
Screenshot by Destructoid

Now, as you travel around town with your Zoi, you'll spot animals wandering around and living their lives. While you won't find a ton in busy urban areas, you'll see plenty if you visit parks and nature spots around the world.

There are eight animals you can add to your inZOI world. Here's a list of them all:

  • Cats
  • Dogs
  • Pandas
  • Deer
  • Raccoons
  • Squirrels
  • Foxes
  • Crocodiles

The animals you add to your map and their density are entirely up to you. You can't interact with them, but you can walk up to them and appreciate their cuteness.

Holding the Cactus Ball in Midport Village

Among all the hidden collectibles in the A Minecraft Movie Live Event, the Cactus Ball is one of the most challenging to uncover. Not only is its location tricky to pin down, but its spawn rates are incredibly low. Here are a few tips on how to get Cactus Balls.

Where to find Cactus Ball in A Minecraft Movie Live Event

Cactus Balls spawn periodically in the Mines of the A Minecraft Movie Live Event server. Use your Map to transport yourself to this location. Then, approach the elevator to head down to Level 1.

Upon spawning, you'll come across three entrances in the caves. Take two lefts until you reach a lava pit. Hop across the terrain here to get safely across. Be careful of the hostile mobs around there, as they will try to push into the molting lava. Monsters, in general, are pretty ruthless here, so you may want to make some preparations, whether with weapon shop upgrades or the Battle Axe.

After you cross the lava, you can only take one pathway, leading you higher up the Mines. Take a left when you reach a sign.

Exploring Minecraft Mines
Screenshot by Destructoid

Continue through this route and take a right at the crossroads. It'll take you to a tunnel, where you'll find a dungeon/spawner.

Pathway to Cactus Ball dungeon
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Cactus Ball will sparkle in this domain's center, but it won't always be there. Those who see this hidden collectible should tread cautiously before interacting with it. After all, it is a dungeon, unleashing a bunch of monsters at once. Use your pickaxe to get rid of the spawners, which can stop hostile mobs from spawning in.

Cactus Ball spawn in Mines dungeon
Screenshot by Destructoid

What to do when the Cactus Ball doesn't spawn in A Minecraft Movie Live Event

If the Cactus Ball isn't appearing, follow these steps:

  1. Place your character in a safe space near the dungeon
  2. Open up the menu to save and quit (you may need to exit out of the game)
  3. Return to the Movie Event
  4. Use your Map to get back to the Mines
  5. Check to see if the Cactus Ball appears
  6. Rinse and repeat if it doesn't

I repeated this technique quite a few times, and it still landed me with a hot ball of nothing. One maneuver that helped me was closing out the game completely, giving it a quick refresh. It might not resolve the issue, but it does seem to help over time. You also don't have to continuously walk over to the Cactus Ball spawn each time, as it will spawn you at the location you were stationed in before.

How to use Cactus Ball in A Minecraft Movie Live Event

You can throw a Cactus Ball down to the ground to inflict damage on nearby enemies. It works the same as the large cacti in the game, guarding you from hostile mobs. I like to place the Cactus Balls around me when mining, just so I don't get hit unexpectedly.

Using the Cactus Ball to inflict damage on spiders
Screenshot by Destructoid

When using all three Cactus Balls from your inventory, the item will appear gray, indicating that you've exhausted this unique material. Don't worry; it will replenish after a minute or so, similar to the Lava Chicken. Even if you log out of the A Minecraft Movie Live Event server, you'll still have this item and any other hidden collectibles you've gained.

Is the Gerd Muller Dreamchasers Icon SBC worth completing in EA FC 25?

For 550,000 coins' worth of fodder, the Muller item isn't bad at all. I don't like having Powershot+ in the current meta, but Finesse Shot+ and Low Driven+ are top tier options to have. Muller also offers 5* Weak Foot, along with 95 Shooting. There are not many areas of complaint with this card, and it can be a wonderful addition to your squad.

If you're looking for a defensive solidification, the Gabriel Dreamchasers SBC offers good value.

InZOI character painting

Part of inZOI's charm is being able to do anything you want. If you want to be a world-renowned author, you can write books and sell them for profit. If you prefer painting, you can post your paintings on an online marketplace to make money.

How to sell crafted items in inZOI

There are two ways to sell your crafted items in inZOI:

  • Sell items through your character's inventory
  • Sell paintings through Pocket Market

If your Zoi is an aspiring painter, they can sell their finished pictures through Pocket Market. For hobbies like writing, video editing, and programming, you'll find your finished products in your character's inventory. You'll find your inventory next to your character's portrait.

InZOI painting with the Pocket Market option
Screenshot by Destructoid

At first, you won't make much money selling your items, as many of your products will be poor quality. Over time, you'll naturally develop your skills and unlock more design options, letting you experiment with the items that work best for you.

Pocket Market

InZOI Pocket Market
Screenshot by Destructoid

Pocket Market is inZOI's in-game marketplace for artists. You can sell any paintings you create to this market by selecting a completed painting and choosing "Sell on Pocket Market." Doing this brings up a confirmation menu where you can set its price and confirm your selection, marking the beginning of your new painting business.

If your pictures don't sell right away, you can lower their price to increase your odds of someone taking interest. Selling an image gives you the painting's listed cash amount and some followers, giving you an extra incentive to post on Pocket Market if you like having a strong social media presence.

If your Zoi isn't a painter and prefers dabbling in other hobbies, they can sell any items they create through their inventory. As long as it's a physical object sent to your character's bag, you can select it and choose "Sell" to make some quick cash without waiting for someone to buy it. You won't make quite as much money through this, but it's still a great source of income between work shifts.

Split Fiction Mio and Zoe as cyber ninjas

One of 2025's early contenders for game of the year has been recognized by Guinness World Records by setting three world records within three weeks of its release.

Split Fiction, the fantastic new title by Josef Fares's Hazelight Studios under EA, is widely regarded as a wonderful co-op experience for gamers of all levels, and it seems as though most gamers would agree, judging by the content of the records it set.

Dragons soaring in a tropical landscape in Split Fiction
Image via EA

According to the Guinness World Records, Split Fiction became the most-played local co-op game on Steam, the most-sold local co-op game within 48 hours of release, and the most-sold local co-op game within one week of release. The game has an Overwhelmingly Positive review score on Steam, too, meaning the vast majority of players have loved it.

Split Fiction also continues the Hazelight tradition of allowing one player to play the game with a friend who owns it without having to buy it themselves. The Friend Pass enables one gamer to join their friend who purchased it for no extra cost, which is just a wonderful precedent and one that I wish other co-op games would employ.

I personally have been playing Split Fiction with my girlfriend, who is not the most dedicated gamer, so asking her to spend $50 on the new title is way steeper than just having her download the Friend Pass. I wish it also set a record for how cool that was.

Split Fiction stars two writers who bring their story ideas to a company that has the technology to bring them to life by connecting the creators to it. When things go awry, a truly joyful and unique co-op experience begins, and I can't suggest it enough.

The dynamic between the two heroines, Mio and Zoe, creates an interesting storyline that is complemented by dynamic gameplay as the duo try to make it out of an unfortunate situation together, creating an unforgettable co-op experience.

Split Fiction is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Is the Gabriel Dreamchasers SBC worth completing in EA FC 25?

Gabriel Dreamchasers card in EA FC 25
Screenshot via Destructoid

This is the best SBC of the whole promo, as it's amazingly well-valued. The card, costing about 170,000 coins, offers Jockey+ and Anticipate+, along with silver Intercept, Aerial, Bruiser, and Pinged Pass. It has 88 Pace, 93 Defending, and 92 Physicality, making the card a defensively solid option.

There are very few CB cards in Ultimate Team that will be better than this particular item, so make sure to complete the SBC while it's live. In fact, I will rate this SBC better than the Dayot Upamecano Dreamchasers SBC that's also available for your consideration.

Black Ops 6 cover art

Even though Black Ops 6 has been out for quite a while, the game is still alive and well with its consistent updates. Events are one of the main reasons it continues to thrive, typically celebrating a crossover for the season.

If you want to stay updated on BO6 and Warzone, here's a deep dive into its event schedule.

BO6 and Warzone ongoing events in 2025

At the time of writing, the double XP event is currently active in BO6 and Warzone. Like past celebrations, you'll earn these benefits:

  • Double Player XP
  • Double Weapon XP
  • Double Battle Pass XP
  • Double GobbleGum Earn Rate

Get ready to level up faster than ever in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Warzone with double XP. But here's the catch: the GobbleGum boosted rates are exclusive to Zombies, so you'll need to own BO6 for this buff. While you can dive into Black Ops 6 during the Free Trial periods, keep in mind that the double XP event is expected to wrap up before the subsequent trial kicks off in Season 3.

If you are on the fence about buying BO6, use this time to test it out. You'll have access to Season 3 Premium content, the Firing Range MP map, and the Zombies Shattered Veil map.

The following day, we will see the Warzone-exclusive Return to Verdansk event. Go back to the golden age of Warzone with the return of the mode's first-ever Battle Royale map. Event-only zones will be available, allowing you to earn exclusive rewards. Locate iconic points of interest, open hidden safes, and take down enemy Operators to unlock higher gift tiers. InZOI car

We've wanted cars in these types of life simulation games for ages. At long last, inZOI has satisfied this craving by letting us buy cars and drive around to make traveling easier. Here's exactly how to get a car in inZOI.

How to buy a car in inZOI

You can purchase a car through your in-game smartphone. Here, you'll find an app titled "Dream Car," letting you browse through several car types at different price ranges. Below is every car and their price:

  • Z-Car: M 10,000
  • Sedan: M 30,000
  • SUV: M 55,000
  • Hyundai INSTER: M 14,600
  • Hyundai AZERA: M 37,110
  • Hyundai IONIQ 5: M 47,000

InZOI Dream Car app
Screenshot by Destructoid

At the time of writing, there are six vehicles to choose from. You can also change your car's color to match your preferences. While there aren't unlimited options, most have around five colors, depending on the car type. Just make sure you have a decent-paying job to afford the purchase.

How to drive your car in inZOI

After you purchase your car, it'll appear in front of your home, ready to drive. You can either click on your character, select Car and tap 'Get in Car,' or find your car and choose these options. If you have multiple Zois in your household, you can have one sit in the driver's seat and another on the passenger side.

InZOI driving car option on the map
Screenshot by Destructoid

From here, you're free to open your map and drive to your destination. Once you pick your location, you'll watch your character drive to the spot with their car. It'll eventually send you to a loading screen if the place is far away, but you'll still watch a good chunk of the drive before arriving at your destination.

Alongside driving around, you also have the following options to pick from:

  • Open trunk
  • Wash the Car
  • Park the Car
  • Take a Selfie with the Car
  • Repair

While you can go through your entire playthrough without touching these options, they'll help make it feel a little more realistic if that's what you're going for.

How to complete a Kuji-kiri

Assassin's Creed Shadows screenshot of Naoe at a Kuji-kiri location.

To interact with a Kuji-kiri spot and unlock one of Naeo's memories, you must follow the button or key prompts as they light up on the screen as a quick-time event. The key to completing these is to push the prompts in time with the rhythm and to remember the rhythm as the buttons are pressed.

Some Kuji-kiri will become more difficult as the prompts either speed up or require you to press multiple buttons at once. Look out for the white ring that surrounds these prompts; this tells you which ones need to be pressed. Once the prompts completely fade, you'll be taken to one of Naeo's memories.

The first four Kuji-kiri you complete will advance the "Naoe's Journey" questline and will take you through four unique memories to help shape Naeo's past. Subsequent Kuji-kiri will just be the same minigame you can complete to earn Knowledge Points. Once you have enough Knowledge Points, you'll gain a Knowledge Rank which unlocks higher tiers of skills in the skill trees.

That rounds up our guide to all Kuji-kiri locations in Assassin's Creed Shadows, now you should be all set with a wealth of Knowledge Points. For more Assassin's Creed Shadows tips and tricks, see our guides to all legendary Katana locations or our explainer on how to adopt a pet in-game.
