PCGamesN Wednesday, July 30, 2025 12:37 PM With Apex Legends Season 26 fast approaching, Respawn has started drip-feeding players information about all the changes that are coming with the update. PCGamesN Wednesday, July 30, 2025 12:37 PM I first got to play Hell is Us at Gamescom last year and was immediately drawn into its blend of Stalker's wartorn, apocalyptic European aesthetics and Death Stranding style sci-fi. As immediately imposing as the talk of 'player plattering' and a hands-off approach to progression is, you quickly realize that developer Rogue Factor is just playing in the grounds of games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls. Nevertheless, that's clearly a popular format right now, and a new preview gives us a fresh glimpse into one of its most interesting aspects, the dungeons. |
PCGamesN Wednesday, July 30, 2025 12:32 PM When is the Black Ops 6 Season 5 release date? Following up Season 3 was a tough one: huge changes came into play, and the Call of Duty team had quite the job on trying to keep the pace and keep things interesting. Season three brought us a new Zombies map, Shattered Veil, and the final map didn't arrive with Season 4. We got Grief mode instead, with a bunch of new multiplayer and Warzone content to boot. PCGamesN Wednesday, July 30, 2025 10:26 AM Keyboard keyswitch stalwart, Cherry, is back with a new premium gaming keyboard, the Xtrfy MX 8.3 TKL Wireless. It includes an LCD display and has a lot of the features we've come to expect in a high-end board, including an 8,000Hz polling rate, tri-mode connectivity, and hot-swappable switches, but it's also curiously missing other popular features like adjustable actuation and rapid trigger, which brings its $299 price point into the spotlight. On specs alone, the Cherry Xtrfy MX 8.3 has every chance of earning a slot on our buying guide to the best gaming keyboard. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, July 30, 2025 1:41 PM ![]() If the messy situation regarding Subnautica 2 and those ousted studio heads has led you to wonder if publishers Krafton might be mismanaging the development of their games, the company's chief financial officer reckons you're diving in the wrong sea. According to Dongkeun Bae, Subnautica 2's delay from 2025 release to 2026 is proof that Krafton are doing a good job with that, actually. The exec said as much via translator during a recent earnings call that, among many other things, featured the publishers' own version of the events surrounding Striking Distance CEO Steve Papoutsis being parachuted in at Unknown Worlds to replace senior executives Charlie Cleveland, Max McGuire, and Ted Gill last month. Whether Subnautica 2 was genuinely ready to release in early access this year is a key part of the whole fracas. Krafton say no, the three fired leads say yes, and now the latter are suing. The complicating factor is that there was a big bonus for the studio's workers tied to the game releasing this year. |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, July 30, 2025 11:27 AM ![]() There was a time when I'd be chuffed to bits to be clicking a new entry-level graphics card into its PCIe home. Think back to the GTX 1050 Ti or the Radeon RX 570 – these weren't just great GPUs because they were accessible, but because you could practically feel the scrappiness bouncing off their circuitry. Like barking little chihuahuas, throwing down against a pack of mastiffs. You can see they're no match for the bigger boys. But you kind of love them for not caring. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 is no such card. It is the most affordable of the RTX 50 series, undercutting the RTX 5060 by about £40 / $50, and it does come with a full set of DLSS 4 tools including Multi Frame Generation (MFG) support. Its performance, sadly, leans more slow than scrappy, and it isn't even really that cheap. Prices start around £220 / $250 and this overclocked Zotac model I've tested is £248 / $270, so it's still going to be by far the priciest component in any budget PC build. |

After recent Umamusume: Pretty Derby worldwide release updates, players noticed connection issues in the game in which it is "connecting" repeatedly or for extended periods of time. Cygames confirmed on social media that it is aware of the problem and working on a fix. This came alongside a reveal the English version of "Umapyoi Legend" will come to streaming services and Umamusume: Cinderella Gray Oguri Cap and Tamamo Cross plush pre-orders opened.
Cygames' statement on the Umamusume: Pretty Derby connection issues that cause it to frequently spend extended periods of time connecting to any modes, activities, and choices is brief. It noted that it is in the midst of the investigation process to see why this is prompting the server error. It also didn't note what kind of compensation it will offer as an apology.
Here's the full Umamusume: Pretty Derby connection issues announcement from social media:
In the case of the English version of the song "Umapyoi Legend," the song that we hear in Umamusume: Pretty Derby after winning URA Finale, it will be on services on August 20, 2025. At the moment, the only way to hear it online is on YouTube. The performance features El Condor Pasa as the center and main singer, with Grass Wonder and King Halo accompanying her.
You can watch that below:
As for the Umamusume: Cinderella Gray Oguri Cap and Tamamo Cross plush, both are takes on the characters at silly moments in the anime. Each one costs $14.99/¥2,200. They'll appear in Japan in February 2026, then in the US in Q3 2026. The Oguri Cap is a "Simple Oguri" one of the character as she's in the middle of stuffing her face with food. The other one is Nervous Tama-chan and shows her all anxious. Each one will be almost four inches tall (100mm). Other recent plush included Gold Ship in her Tracen uniform.
Here's how both look:

Konami has announced that it will launch a trial for the MD-AI commentary project at the Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2025. Automated commentaries will appear to accompany qualification matches in the Yu-Gi-Oh: Master Duel segment.
The AI commentary will be available in ten languages: Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. It will generate analysis based on the over 12,000 cards available in Yu-Gi-Oh: Master Duel, along with the cards' inclusion frequencies in decks and the decks' winning percentages.
The company has also clarified that the AI commentary will be available specifically for the Yu-Gi-Oh: Master Duel segment. The Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship will also include tournaments based on the Official Card Game, as well as Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Links in two modes: Speed Duel and Rush Duel.
Konami has uploaded a new teaser trailer for the new AI project on the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh YouTube channel:
This is not the first time Konami is experimenting with voice generation AI in 2025. When the company released Shine Post: Be Your Idol as one of the Japanese Nintendo Switch 2 launch titles in June 2025, it also featured an AI-based voice library that determines the quality of the idols' vocals based on their in-game training levels.
The AI commentary trial will take place at the Yu-Gi-Oh: Master Duel qualification round in the Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2025. This stream will go live on August 29, 2025, at 4 PM JST / 3 AM ET.

Campbell's Company announced a crossover with Pokemon that involves cans of the chicken noodle Condensed Kids Soup. Each can has one of eight designs on the wrapper. The noodles inside also consist of pasta shaped like various Pokemon. The official site lets you search for local stores selling it, and Amazon is also selling it.
Each can of Campbell's Pokemon Condensed Kids Soup is 10.5oz. As usual, you dump the contents of the can in a pan, then fill the can with water and drop that into the pan as well. You then heat that to make the chicken noodle soup. No photos were shown of the soup itself, so we don't know which character shapes are represented. Way back in the day, the Kraft Mac & Cheese inspired by the series had shapes that looked like Pikachu and Jigglypuff.
As for the cans, there are eight designs. All of them pull from Pokemon Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow. The four starters Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu, and Squirtle appear. Eevee and Jigglypuff are the two normal ones featured. The Mythical Mew and Legendary Mewtwo round out the collection.
Here are official photos showing how they all look:

These follow the recent Pokemon Hershey's Kisses based on the series. That featured 151 wrapper designs based on the original games. In Japan, Baskin Robbins also just announced a new campaign with Pokemon characters.

The GOG Dreamlist process involves people heading to the official site and casting votes in hopes of PC games being revived and made playable again, but it's been revealed fake Digimon World votes were cast. The company announced on social media that for 21 days in July 2025, fradulent votes were cast. The about 26,000 fake ones were removed.
On GOG Dreamlist as of 10:05am ET on July 30, 2025, the Digimon World page for the PC game is at 82,019 votes. We've already seen a number of PC games succeed and be added to GOG as a result of the Dreamlist initiative. Breath of Fire IVended up being one of them. After an outpouring of support, it was added to the storefront.
As of time of writing, here are the 10 most popular GOG Dreamlist titles and their current vote counts.

After Nintendo finally announced it will hold a Partner Showcase Direct dedicated to the new Switch and Switch 2 games coming in the following weeks and months on July 31, 2025. We can watch it at 6 am PT/9 am ET/3pm CET. This will happen worldwide, with the European and Japanese branches also confirming it on social media.
We do know how long this Nintendo Partner Showcase Direct will be, as the announcement confirmed it will spend 25 minutes covering Switch and Switch 2 games. As it involves partners, there won't be first-party titles. So expect a lot of announcements from companies like Atlus, Square Enix, Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Koei Tecmo. It's also possible we might see some indie reveals for games like Hades 2 or Hollow Knight: Silksong.
A placeholder YouTube stream is available, so people can set up notifications and prepare ahead of time. Chat is disabled.
It's been quite a while since we've heard about new games from Nintendo. The company usually holds a Direct in June 2025, around when E3 would have appeared. The last major Nintendo Direct appeared in April 2025 and focused on the new console. Ones for specific games, Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, followed in April 2025 and June 2025. The last Partner Showcase appeared in August 2024, so we were due for one of these.
The new Nintendo Partner Showcase Direct will air at 6 am PT/9 am ET/3pm CET on July 31, 2025.

Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar always felt like one of the more unique Bokujou Monogatari games due to the fact that the weekly market affected gameplay in a major way and, after going through an in-game month of Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, it really feels like this remake won't change that. It feels like it further embraces the idea of being a self starter in a location constantly referencing Nordic influences.
The first time I had a chance to sit down with the Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar remake, it involved brief experiences taken from certain points in the game. I went through the market introduction. I prepared my farm and myself for a storm. I handed a day running a booth in the market and taking advantage of the sprites' assistance to build up a buying frenzy. This time felt much different and more natural, since it involved actually starting a new story and working through the first month on my own farm.
In many ways, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar does follow more traditional Bokujou Monogatari patterns. Your daily routine will look vary similar. Get up. Tend to any animals you may own. Head to your crops to water, harvest, plant, and care for them. Go down into town. Socialize with people, most likely the characters you may want to romance. Maybe do some light shopping. Engage in some fishing and foraging. Then head back home to sleep so you can do it again.
However, there's a decisive change in that pattern. Since there is no shipping here and you rely on the weekly market for income, it forces you to get creative about your output. Early on, this is more simple. You aren't going to have access to elaborate cooking recipes or high quality crops in the first hours of any Story of Seasons game. But already in my first month, I feel the idea of plotting. Build up money. See what items are most profitable. Make the most of each market trip, so I can afford things like bag upgrades, animals, and more seeds. Get an idea of how to get settled, so I can take advantage of that weekly resource and be self-sustaining.
![]()
![]()
![]()
This first month also served as a reminder of how tidy Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar can feel compared to some other games in the series. In many titles, getting from one point to the other can take up a lot of in-game time. As a result of a glider here and town organized in such a way that everything is rather conveniently located and even utilizing some verticality, it feels like I'm moving around faster and accomplishing more. In other entries, I sometimes wouldn't get really into foraging until a month or two in. Here, as a result of the structure, I have that extra time and can use the glider to more quickly get from higher elevations down so I can do more.
All of which does also absolutely embrace the whole Nordic and Dutch type of atmosphere. It feels like we're playing through a Story of Seasons game that could be set in the Netherlands. There are the windmills. The architecture, which already channeled that pastoral feel on the DS, is even better replicating that mood. The open-air market is homey. I love how it really feels like you're in a mountainous region with lots of hills. Not to mention, everyone's attire is appropriate too.
Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar seems like it remains a Bokujou Monogatari that feels different from typical farming sims. There's that extra priority you need to take into account. This means, while you do have the same routines you'll develop, you also need to change up your strategies to make sure you are taking advantage of and building up that "customer base" at the weekly market. All this is set against a backdrop with a definite vibe that also looks different from other installments, feeling more European than others. It could be a refreshing change for those who missed it the first time around.
Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar will come to the Switch, Switch 2, and PC on August 27, 2025. The original Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar is available on the DS.

Mage Arena is a new indie PVP title stylized after classic "boomer shooters," featuring pixelated graphics, old-school music, and an enchanting art direction. It differs in its utilization of voice, as every single spell in the game is cast by speaking its name, which is quite the concept.
Released just a few days before this article, Mage Arena is already racking up a ton of players. With tens of thousands of people flocking to duke it out on the game's maps by screaming various sorceries into the microphone, the game is gaining a ton of attention, not least because it is borderline revolutionary in its design.
While we've seen a ton of games utilize proximity voice (which is by no means a less-than-revolutionary step in design, especially for co-op horror), we haven't really had a game like this before, at least not in a spell, pun by all means intended.
What this approach to game design proves is that there's a lot more utility to in-game voice chat than meets the eye. Whereas proximity voice adds a ton of flavor to co-op gameplay, particularly in a horror environment where your buddies' voices just suddenly disappear, voice as a gameplay tool is certainly another level.
Instead of mice and clicks and keys, our voices become the ultimate means for gameplay execution, with each spell, action, or whatever else requiring us to speak to be performed. Other games might have done it already or tried, but Mage Arena's popularity is about to revolutionize voice commands in video games, despite Microsoft and others' failed attempts to vocalize their devices and products.
Now, if you haven't already, do make sure to try Mage Arena. It's just a few bucks on Steam and seemingly made by one person, and your support for indies means less success for corporate overreach in gaming.
Anyhow, what's your take on voice commands in video games? Do you see a future for them in Mage Arena style? Or do you think this is just wishful thinking on the part of one random dude? Do let me know below.

Following a massive 8.8-scale earthquake in Russia, several countries have issued tsunami warnings, including Japan, which forced Bandai Namco and FromSoftware to delay their planned new update for Elden Ring: Nightreign that was supposed to bring a Duo mode to the game, among other things.
Instead of releasing today, July 30, Nightreign's 1.02 patch is set to launch tomorrow, on July 31, FromSoftware has explained via its X account. "In light of the tsunami warning issued due to an earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the update," the company said. The update will also launch alongside a new Everdark Sovereign cycle, giving players new challenges to tackle in the Soulslike.
Whether or not these Everdark Sovereigns are enough to keep the game alive is a topic we've discussed in detail here, in case you were wondering the same thing.
![]()
Patch 1.02 also aims to bring a host of UI and quality-of-life improvements, hopefully to make the game's core experience smoother and less cumbersome, as navigating some of its menus tends to be quite convoluted for no particular reason.
The delay above came as a result of an 8.8-magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Russia's far eastern Kamchatka peninsula. AP reports that this is one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded, as well as that tsunami waves have reached Japan, Hawaii, and even as far as California. According to the report, major damage has not been recorded.
Japan was then forced to issue tsunami warnings and evacuation orders.
Thankfully, this otherwise potentially catastrophic calamity seems to be waning, as the AP reports lessening danger in the affected areas, with Japan switching its tsunami warnings to advisories, urging people to be cautious even as the threat subsides.

A scavenger hunt-focused event has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and it's brought with it some very tricky riddles to solve. One of the clues you need to figure out in the Treasure Hunt event tells you to venture to somewhere peaceful where pickaxe meets rock.
You're not given any additional information outside of this hint, so it can be difficult to figure out where to look and what to do to tackle this one. If you're not sure how to get it done, here's the solution for the pickaxe meets rock somewhere peaceful riddle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Where is somewhere peaceful pickaxe meets rock in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
![]()
The solution to the pickaxe meets rock somewhere peaceful riddle in the Treasure Hunt event is a rock found in the Peaceful Meadow biome. There are a few different rocks you can find in this region, but for the purposes of this task, you're looking for the light grey rock chunks that spawn along the ground, not the dark grey ones tucked into the walls.
Your treasure is hidden in one of the many rocks cluttering up his biome. There's no way to determine which one it's in, so equip your Royal Pickaxe and get to work breaking all rocks you come across until one of them drops a clue you can pick up.
Be sure to check behind any buildings, houses, furniture, or other such items you have placed around the Peaceful Meadow biome when trying to find the rock that hides your treasure. They can spawn in some pretty hard-to-find places, so scouring the entire area is essential if you're having trouble finding them.
You might get lucky and mine the right rock on the first try, or it might take you several tries. Mine was in the fifth rock I mined close to the pond near the east end of the biome, but yours may appear here or anywhere else in this area.
![]()
The rock tied to this clue will drop a golden chest, a Star Coin, and a Gem for you to pick up. The chest contains a Memory Shard you can use to access a piece of the memory that leads to the grand prize featured in this event. It also counts toward the Expert Treasure Hunter duty.
You won't find treasure in this area until after you first unlock the clue hinting toward it, so if you don't have it yet, be sure to go hunting for some gold treasure cracks. This hint is also just one of many Treasure Hunt event clues and solutions you need to solve, so get ready to work through some more.

Apex Legends is getting a new permanent mode in season 26, Showdown. The new Wildcard game mode brings more condensed, 30-person matches perfect for making high-risk plays, trying new strategies, and fueling your gameplay with unique power-ups. As if the Apex Games couldn't get more frantic.
Wild Card condenses the thrill of an Apex match into a shorter, high-voltage package. Looting and reviving are streamlined in this 30-person mode, so there's less downtime and more combat, and the titular Wild Cards create room for bigger, bolder plays.
Wild Card principal designer JJ Williams called the mode "an experimental playground" in a press event ahead of release. It's meant to be a lower-stakes environment where you can try out strategies and compositions you normally wouldn't use in a match while still keeping it somewhat competitive. It's goofy enough to let you bring three of the same legend to a team (which is allowed in the mode)—but that doesn't make it any less hard-fought.
![]()
Each match, a set of Wild Card items is available in Replicators. These extra modifiers "allow you to experiment with speed, agility, and combat tactics," according to Williams. You unlock one Wild Card slot on rounds one, two, and three, for a maximum of three per match.
One of the Wild Cards, for instance, lets you wallrun. But before you start getting your hopes up for Titanfall 3, you can only run for about five meters before dropping down. Another one revives downed teammates upon getting a kill, so there are plenty of effects to tinker with.
To keep in tune with the mode's nature, Respawn is adding a new melee weapon: a baseball bat. No barbed wire or anything; just a plain, hyper-technological baseball bat. Its charged attack can send enemies flying long distances, and it's available within care packages in the mode, though "only for season 26," Williams said. Your teammates are safe, however.
With a compressed ring, squads must be ready to fight off the drop. Every player gets a self-revive kit right off the dropship, and they can revive as long as one member of the team is still in the fight, so keep that in mind before abandoning a downed enemy to help an ally.
Looting is considerably simpler: in the mode, each item has a dedicated slot, and you can find pre-kitted weapons around the map. Supply bins will also contain pre-kitted weapons, with their quality increasing at the end of each round. You don't have to wait until the ring closes to get better gear, though: you can level up your weapons by obtaining the new Evo Orbs.
![]()
After finishing off an enemy, you'll get a "loot explosion" containing ammo, shield cells, and Evo Orbs. This new pickup does a lot more than fits the label: it levels up your weapons, reduces respawn timers, grants a little bit of shield charge, kickstarts your health regeneration, and gives you a "sliver" of ult charge, according to Williams.
Respawn is also introducing an auto-looting system to Wild Card. You'll vacuum up any drops from enemies just by going over them. Death Boxes will still exist, but for weapons and scopes. This also clears up a lot of items from the pool.
The action kicks off in Apex's first map, the infamous Kings Canyon, which has been retrofitted with a slew of map toys—like gravity cannons, ziplines, and jump pads—for this occasion. You can jump into Wild Card when Showdown releases on Aug. 5.

Apex Legends' next season is introducing a new item type called Amps: lootable buffs you can find within the Apex Games' casual and ranked matches. Respawn Entertainment revealed five of them so far, and their effects range from better armor to infinite ammo.
"Amps are not just another gear slot," battle royale designer JJ Odell said at a press event ahead of the new season. "They're a set of distinct abilities that allow you to customize your playstyle and take on your rivals in your own way."
![]()
Respawn showed off a few of the new Amps during the event, and each seemed powerful enough to give players a good advantage in a fight. They have a multitude of uses, both offensively and defensively. The Bottomless Batteries Amp, for instance, doesn't consume any shield batteries as long as you have two of them in your inventory.
Infinite Ammo, on the other hand, does exactly what's on the tin: it grants unlimited ammo to your weapons at the expense of two inventory slots. You don't have to lug around 2000 bullets for your Devotion, and you can also swap guns liberally without having to find a different ammo type.
Three other Amps seem to be available with Showdown. With Overflow Healer, shield cells and syringes heal you over time for 100 percent of their base healing, while Power Booster reduces the cooldown for your ultimate and tactical. If you knock an enemy with it equipped, you refill a tactical charge on top of the other bonuses. There's also the simple-yet-effective Over Armor Amp, which boosts your max shield by 25 points.
These items will be available throughout the match, but expect them to start appearing by the midgame, according to Odell. You can find them in both unranked and ranked matches.
Amps have the potential to shake up the Apex meta, especially alongside the rest of the changes coming with Showdown. Players can hope for an Amp on supply bins starting on Aug. 5, when season 26 releases.

As you explore Grounded 2's map, you'll eventually stumble upon a picnic table that holds a large briefcase. On it, you'll spot two three-digit combination locks with no initial indicators of their answers. Let's dive into how to solve both briefcase combination locks in Grounded 2.
Table of contents
Grounded 2 briefcase combination lock hints
You'll find the first briefcase combination lock answer on a newspaper on the picnic table. As you're exploring the picnic table, you'll spot a newspaper on its northwestern side. Part of it is rolled up, while another part has the numbers 137 underneath a crossword puzzle.
![]()
The second hint is atop a podium in the Ceremony part of the map. You'll find the podium in the northwestern corner of the region, with various items such as screwdrivers, soda bottles, and other objects creating ramps up its height. There are also some hidden passageways tucked behind obstacles and holes in the walls that lead up to the top. You can also climb up a large web to one of the podium's upper levels using a spider buggy if you have one.
![]()
Once you reach the top, you'll find two ORC butterflies guarding the area that you can either defeat or run away from. The code, 514, is on a small piece of paper in one of the podium's corners.
How to unlock the briefcase in Grounded 2
Now that you know both combination answers, return to the picnic table and input 137 and 514 into each side. 137 will go into the side closest to the spork, while 514 will go into the other side. Turn the dials until each passcode is in before activating their buttons to unhook the latches,

Upon inputting both combinations, the briefcase will open, revealing 500 Raw Science under some pamphlets, a few mints scattered around, and a milk molar inside a bottle.

Ranked Apex Legends will have a full plate when its next season, Showdown, kicks off next week. Its competitive mode is taking a page out of ALGS' book and adding dedicated drop zones to each squad—and those who survive can show off with a new cosmetic type called aura.
"Drop zones are designed to bring a little more structure to the beginning moments of a match," helping improve "competitive integrity and fairness" while separating ranked from the more casual modes, principal designer Bilal Arshad said at an event for press and content creators.
![]()
Each squad will see their designated drop zone when loading into the map, before picking their legends. You can contest enemies in the vicinity, but "the fastest path to loot will always be to claim your drop zone," according to the developer. Maps in ranked will maintain the same amount of loot, but Respawn Entertainment is taking a pass to make the quality of the loot more consistent between POIs.
Venture into this new competitive season to earn auras, a striking category of cosmetics that show off your current rank. Auras hover behind your character and above their shoulders, visibly showcasing your progress to anyone who catches a glimpse of them. A basic version is available to all players who gain or have access to ranked, but you must fight to earn and maintain your new colors.
Auras are extremely flashy, but they won't necessarily give away your position during a match. They're visible to all players when skydiving, and you can see them during a third-person emote. In-game, though, they only appear during a revive or a finisher, and only between the two people involved in the animation.
![]()
In addition to drop zones, the game's competitive will see the usual start-of-season tuning to its formulas. Gold and Silver players will see a slight increase in RP entry costs, and partaking in Bronze matches will now cost RP to reinforce the "careful, deliberate play" necessary to advance, according to Arshad.
To round out the changes to ranked, Respawn is toning down the RP gained from kills and assists with the new season, focusing on survival instead. The challenger bonus, awarded when facing enemies at a higher rank than you, is getting a bump.
The reduction of points for kills and assists may incite apprehension about ratting, when teams aim for a better placement by outlasting the competition instead of fighting. However, the studio is paying "careful attention" to player feedback and internal data, and the team will keep fingers on the dial to ensure the ranked mode is both fun and fair, according to Arshad.
Apex's 26th season, Showdown, releases on Aug. 5, alongside the new Wild Card permanent game mode, an overhauled RE-45, and more.

Caustic mains have been calling for buffs to the mad scientist, and Apex Legends' next season will have them in droves. The controller's famous Nox Gas will become even more lethal next week, and Bangalore may rise as a new potential counter.
Starting with season 26, Caustic is getting a suite of changes to his deadly toxin, making it even more dangerous. "Recklessly pushing into an area Caustic controls will be a death sentence," legend designer Brian Berryhill said at a press event ahead of the season, "so respect the gas, or else."
![]()
With the new season, Caustic's Nox Gas will deal more damage, immediately cap your speed, and strip their movement ability cooldown. The mad scientist is a direct response to Ash's mobile hit-and-run playstyle. "If you manage to gas Ash first, she'll have to fight it out," Berryhill said.
Bangalore is getting new legend upgrades to rein in Caustic's possible dominance. The left side of her tree makes her a "specialist that can clear the field," according to Berryhill. The soldier can electrify her abilities, launching an EMP on hit. This won't slow players down, but it will destroy any deployables within range. The right side focuses on her support capacities, especially with her smoke grenades.
These two major buffs also come with big reworks to smoke and gas particles. Both will be affected by enemy ordnance and legend abilities, allowing you to fully dissipate the effects for a short time. Throwing a grenade or an Arc Star, for instance, can give you enough visibility to put more pressure on a team when they're laying low in the fog.
The Caustic buff is compounded by a blanket buff to all Controller legends. Ring consoles can spawn an "extra tall evac" after scanning survey data, and Zone Overcharge will "continuously recharge shields while you're in the zone," Berryhill said.
Players can see how the new changes shake out once season 26, Showdown, launches on Aug. 5.

With every new patch for live service games, there comes a host of errors and issues. DBD is no exception, and its latest The Walking Dead update broke quite a few things in the title.
One of these issues is the Failed to Create Party error, displaying when you try to start up a game as a Survivor. It's a nuisance, but thankfully not difficult to fix. Here's everything you need to know.
'Failed to Create Party' DBD error, explained
![]()
This issue tends to affect primarily those trying to start the Survivor queue in DBD. When you click on the "Survivor" button under the "Play" tab, you're met with a long loading process that results in the error mentioned above.
Thankfully, this is just a glitch, and can be fixed (most of the time) by merely spamming the "Survivor" button. It took me some five or six tries to finally get past the error and load up into a game. That isn't to say things will immediately run smoothly, as this latest update also brought in the Accept Invitation Failed error when you invite friends after brute forcing through the party creation issue.
To fix that one, the person affected has to restart their game and be re-invited again, which should, most of the time, fix the issue.
This is a problem not related to your own machine or internet connection, but rather to BHVR's servers and services, which are sometimes bricked by major updates or large influxes of players, such as when a popular IP is added to the game. If nothing works, be patient and report the bug to Behaviour either on Reddit or other BHVR platforms, so the devs can come and fix it ASAP.

The RE-45 is one of the oldest weapons in Apex Legends, hailing from Titanfall, but it's never been so different. In the next season, Respawn Entertainment is reintroducing it as an energy pistol with a three-round burst, marking the game's first Elite weapon.
While Elite may seem like the name of a new skin tier, it's a new gameplay experiment by Respawn, explained in lore by being part of Ballistic's collection. "The goal of Elite weapons is to revitalize our weapon roster by reimagining what a weapon could do," lead battle royale designer Eric Canavese said at a press event before the new season.
![]()
Once Showdown releases on Aug. 5, the RE-45 Elite will replace the base version across the whole game, essentially vaulting the regular version. The same principle applies to future Elite weapons, with their more recent iteration taking over the basic slot. The Elite variant isn't necessarily permanent, however, and Respawn can always bring back the classic version if it fits its goals for the game.
Though the new RE-45 is the first Elite weapon, Respawn is keeping it "intentionally open-ended" as an experiment. There's no set expiration date for the new RE-45 or a release date for another Elite weapon yet, according to Canavese, though you can expect the overhauled pistol to stick around for at least a season.
"We're gonna take our cues from the community and see how it's fitting in the meta," Canavese said, "and we'll let, you know, stale metas and how we wanna be pushing playstyles and engagement ranges sort of help us understand when is the right time for an Elite weapon to come in and out."
Elite weapons present a creative opportunity for Respawn to flirt with the "what ifs" of a weapon, revitalizing old, lesser-used guns to fill a different gameplay space. Changing ammo type and firing mode, for instance, can change how the RE-45 makes it the first energy sidearm—even if it's not fully a new weapon.

The special Treasure Hunt event tasks you with solving an array of tricky clues in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Figuring out the right solution is tough but essential if you want to earn all of the exclusive event prizes.
The hints you're given are quite vague and don't provide you with all the key details you need to navigate through them. If one of the riddles has you stumped, here are all the Treasure Hunt event clues and solutions in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
All Treasure Hunt event riddles and answers
![]()
In total, there are seven clues you're given to solve throughout the entirety of the Treasure Hunt event. You're given a random one each time you dig up a golden treasure crack, so there's no way to determine what order you'll get them in. Because of this, you need to know all possible solutions so you're ready to tackle whichever one you receive.
All riddles point to one specific type of obstacle, but there's no way to know exactly which one contains your treasure. There are many of each specific obstacle type across their respective biomes, so you may have to break many before you find the one that has what you're looking for.
Rocks, ice chunks, and coral can be removed using your Royal Pickaxe. Fires and mushrooms must be watered using your Royal Watering Can. Stumps and bones can be cleared away by digging them up with your Royal Shovel. The process looks a bit different depending on which obstacle you come across, but your goal remains the same, as you simply need to keep clearing them away until you find what you're looking for.
![]()
You cannot find the treasure within these obstacles until you recover the clue that leads to it. Because of this, you should only ever go looking for treasure after you've recovered a clue for it from a sparkling golden treasure spot.
It takes a minimum of seven days to unlock all clues, although you technically only need four to get the grand prize featured in this event. Any clues you follow after this reward you with some bonus goodies like Gems and Star Coins, but no additional special prizes that are exclusive to the event.

Right after you discover materials like acorns, clovers, and weed stems in Grounded 2, you'll begin learning recipes involving blueberry leather. To make this, you need blueberry chunks, which you'll only find in a few specific locations outside of your starting zone.
Table of contents
Blueberry location in Grounded 2
You have two main options for harvesting blueberries in Grounded 2:
If you want an early-game option that poses minimal risk, the picnic table is your best bet. However, if you want a spot where you can farm some blueberries at the cost of fighting (or avoiding) a powerful enemy, you can take your chances at the Ice Cream Cart and see what happens. Either way, I recommend picking up the Buggy before progressing to this point, as both locations are far from your starting location.
![]()
Your first option is the Ice Cream Cart. You'll find the blueberries in the southern part of this region, guarded by a challenging miniboss bug. The blueberries spawn in a large bush, so you'll need to jump and hit them with a melee weapon or shoot them with a bow before chopping away at them.
Alternatively, you can head to the picnic table directly north of the Snackbar. Although it's initially tough to climb and has some obstacles, it's much closer than the Ice Cream Cart, making it a great spot to visit early on. Below are the steps to take for navigating it:
![]()
Once you run through the cooler and reach the top of the table, you'll find multiple blueberries under its tablecloth. Use your Omni-Tool to break them and claim some blueberry chunks. Just watch out for the spiders here, as they can easily ruin the entire trek if they catch you off guard.
How to craft blueberry leather in Grounded 2
Once you've gotten your hands on some blueberry chunks, head to any nearby workbench or rebuild one before searching its Resources section. Here, you'll find a recipe for blueberry leather, which requires three fruit chunks to make.
All blueberry recipes in Grounded 2
Blueberry chunks and leather are required for multiple workbench crafting recipes and builds from your construction menu. Here's a list of crafting recipes that use blueberries as a key material:
In short, if you want your next armor upgrade or want to decorate your base with some training dummies, you'll need plenty of blueberry leather. To unlock these recipes, scan your blueberry chunks at a Resource Analyzer to learn more recipes involving them.

Every day at 1am CT, Pokémon TCG Pocket resets its daily Poké Gold usage limited, where you can spend a total of 720 Poké Gold on opening packs and other activities before the game locks you from using any more.
You can still buy more Poké Gold in-game and store as much as you want, but the game stops you from using any of it. You can sit on thousands of Poké Gold (up to 3,200), but once you hit that 720 Poké Gold cap. That's it. No more opening packs, no matter how badly you want to try and complete a set, until tomorrow, unless you have Hourglasses to use instead.
So effectively, you are locked to 120 packs through Poké Gold a day. This has sparked a lot of debate over whether Pokémon should remove the limit for those willing to spend money, or keep it for obvious (somewhat predatory) reasons when gambling on packs.
On one hand, the Poké Gold prevents people with legitimate addictions from spending all their money on virtual cards, as well as children who might get access to their parents' credit cards and blow thousands on virtual Pokémon cards. It exists as a fail-safe, and the limit can be considered a good thing to stop people from overspending their money.
I've personally stopped myself from spending a lot of money on a new expansion launch due to the usage limit. Without it, I'd probably keep going until I got the card I wanted from the set. Or until I was able to craft it after opening enough packs.
But on the other hand, there are those (exceptionally competitive players) who need to find a card from the set for a deck to run through ranked, and with trading not being a viable option for the new set, some might need to keep opening packs until they get everything they need if they aren't luckly enough to say, find a Trainer card or an ex they need later down the line.
There are a lot of arguments for and against removing the usage limit, but what do you think? Should it stay? Or go?

A massive treasure hunt is afoot in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and if you want to earn some special prizes, you need to get to work tracking down the special gold treasure cracks. These spots lead you to the treasure you're after, but finding them can be tricky.
The valley is quite large, so figuring out where to look for these special spots can be pretty tough. It's especially difficult if your village is fairly decorated, so knowing exactly what to look for before you start the hunt is a great way to make this generally tedious process a bit easier. Here's how to find gold treasure cracks in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Where to find Treasure Hunt event dig spots in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
Sparkling golden dig spots can pop up in any biome around the regular village in DDV for the entire duration of the Treasure Hunt event. This includes:
You won't find them on any of the DLC worlds, so stick to the main valley to find the treasure you're seeking. These special cracks only appear for the limited duration of the Treasure Hunt event, so finding them while it's active is crucial if you want to earn event prizes.
Only one gold crack spawns per day, so you have to scour the entire village to find just one treasure spot. The chosen daily biome is random for all players, too, so your location will likely be completely different from others.
What do gold cracks drop in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
![]()
All gold cracks drop a treasure hunt clue you must solve to find the actual treasure. The clue leads to an obstacle you need to remove to find a golden chest. Inside this chest, you'll find a Memory Shard and a few bonus goodies like Gems and coins.
The Memory Shards can be opened to piece together the location of the grand prize reward. Opening these memories is also crucial for finishing the Expert Treasure Hunter event duty.
How often do gold cracks respawn in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Gold cracks only respawn once per day. It's currently unknown whether a new one will appear if you haven't found the old one yet, but we'll test for this as the event progresses and update with our findings here. For now, though, it's best to ensure you always dig up the daily spot so you can make room for more to appear.
Tips for finding gold treasure cracks in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are many vague duties that are tough to solve, hidden away in the Village Dreamlight section in Disney Dreamlight Valley. These tasks all offer special rewards, so tackling them is crucial if you want to earn prizes. One such duty is Expert Treasure Hunter.
All you're given to work with for this mission is the name, so it's quite tricky figuring out what needs to be done. If this duty has you stumped, here's how to complete Expert Treasure Hunter in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Expert Treasure Hunter duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
To complete the Expert Treasure Hunter duty, you need to dig up and open two special event Memory Shards during the Treasure Hunt event. This event was added with the Mysteries of Skull Rock update, but didn't actually start until July 30.
This is the only duty featured in the event, so it may take you a bit to get it done. To fully finish the entire event, you need to dig up more than just two memories, but for the purposes of this task, only two are required. The Expert Treasure Hunter duty acts as your first major event goal, as you can complete it, then keep hunting for memories to gain an additional reward.
The special event Memory Shards are obtained by digging up gold treasure cracks. Only one golden treasure crack appears each day, and the exact location varies for everyone. To find it, you need to check all the biomes around the valley. Once you locate it, equip your Royal Shovel, dig it up, read the clue, and find the right spot mentioned in it.
You'll get a special golden chest from breaking the obstacle at the right location, which then grants you a golden Memory Shard. Complete this task twice to finish the Expert Treasure Hunter duty.

Your prize for finishing the Expert Treasure Hunter task is a Pirate Skull Motif. This item can be used to customize any Touch of Magic items, including the Pirate Mast prize you get from fully completing the event.
What is the Treasure Hunt event in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
The Treasure Hunt event is a new, treasure-hunting-focused event in DDV. To complete it, we need to use our Royal Shovels to find where the X marks the spot around the valley, which includes all gold treasure cracks. The rewards featured in this event include a Motif and a furniture item.
This event is fairly similar to Cheshire Chaos, especially the part of the event that revolved around hunting down Cheshire Cracks. Luckily, the treasure cracks are a lot easier to find in this one.
When is the Treasure Hunt event in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
![]()
The Treasure Hunt event began on July 30 and will run until Aug. 12. It will come to an end right before the next big update arrives. A new update themed around Inside Out is scheduled for sometime in August, so the event is a way to fill in the downtime before new content arrives. If you miss out on finishing this event, it may come back annually as most other events do, but it hasn't been confirmed to return yet, so it's best to fully tackle it while you can.
When you're done working on this task, there's plenty to get done around the valley. Completing the Adventures in Neverland Star Path is the highest priority since it will soon be over. Some other tasks to tackle are completing the Collateral Damage quest, finding all Pillars, solving all Jade Skull riddles, and unlocking Maleficent.

A fresh event has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and it's time to explore the village like a pirate to uncover buried treasure. The Treasure Hunt event is one of the trickiest events we've seen yet, so you may need some help working through it.
There are some special prizes you can't get anywhere else, so fully finishing all of the tasks featured in this event is crucial if you're hoping to obtain some new items. Here are all the Treasure Hunt event duties and rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

There are two duties featured in this event. Only one of them is listed on the official Collection page, while the other is simply the general quest you need to embark on and complete to obtain all event prizes. The missions you need to get done are as follows.
Treasure Hunt event rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley
There are only two reward items featured in the Treasure Hunt event. This one is a lot smaller than most others, but the prizes featured in it are exclusive, so if you're interested in either one, tackling the event quests is the only way to unlock them.
The Pirate Mast furniture item is the grand prize in this event. It's a bit of a special one since it's a Touch of Magic item, so you can fully customize and recolor the flag of this mast with any Disney Motifs you like.

To complete the Treasure Hunt event, you need to piece together a memory by solving riddles buried around the village. This is a pretty tricky undertaking, so here's a full breakdown of how to tackle this process.
There's no way to know which biome the gold crack will spawn in each day, so you need to carefully scour all of them to find it. They're similar in appearance to the Cheshire Cracks from the past Cheshire Chaos event, but larger and brighter, making them overall easier to spot.
How long is the Treasure Hunt event in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
![]()
The Treasure Hunt event is available to complete from July 30 to Aug. 12. This means you only have about two weeks to get it done, so getting started as soon as possible is crucial if you want to claim all available prizes.
If you're not sure what to do next after finishing this event, there are plenty of quests to work on around the valley. You might consider tackling The Two Flames United, Collateral Damage, and Rekindling the Fire.

Mario Kart World's latest patch notes seem to address a broader issue from the online community, with Nintendo increasing the chances of getting lap-type races in online VS. mode.
Last month's patch reduced the chance of lap-type races when picking random, and was met with revolts from fans online who felt that Nintendo was railroading racers into playing the game as they intended, instead of giving players options to play as they desired.
Now, included in today's patch notes, Nintendo has made changes to online VS. modes. The patch notes include a statement that reads, "The team has increased the frequency of lap-type courses appearing in the selection when choosing the next course in 'VS Race' and wireless races," which seems to rectify the changes made last month.
While the patch does allow more options for players to enjoy the three-lap style races, the lack of a permanent option to only play on lapped tracks instead of interlinked courts might still upset a vast majority. But it's a small but good sign that Nintendo appears to be listening to its community. So maybe there is hope for an additional VS. mode option in the future for circuit courses only after all. Here's hoping.
Outside of that, here are the full patch notes for those who want to see what else was added in the latest version:
