Destiny 2 Twitch streamer hacking lawsuit can go forward, court says

A Destiny 2 Twitch streamer hacking lawsuit can go forward, a court has determined, after the player allegedly showed themselves using hacks and circumventing account bans in the FPS game while streaming on the popular Amazon-owned platform. Although the judge in the Washington court ruled Bungie hadn't met the criteria for some counts and granted an opportunity for the Destiny 2 developer to amend its complaint, it agreed that the defendant, who was a minor at the time they allegedly committed the offences, failed to raise adequate defences against many of Bungie's claims that would warrant the defendant's Motion to Dismiss.

     Best Diablo 4 Druid build

Want to know what the best Diablo 4 Druid build is? Much like the Necromancer, the Diablo 4 open beta this weekend gives players their first chance to get their grubby paws on the Druid class. They are a bestial class with dominion over the elements and spirit animals that join their cause. If all else fails, though, they can always shift into a Werebeast and tear their demonic foes to shreds. Of all the classes, they're perhaps the most underused, but Diablo 4 makes an effort to make them appealing.

To stand a chance against the forces of evil, you'll need to make the best Diablo 4 Druid build. So far, we've seen only datamined information regarding the Druid's many options for weapons, armour, and skills which will be available in the full game. The Diablo 4 Druid class skills can go in several directions, with wolves, ravens, and even plant monsters among the companions on offer. Nature also governs the Druid's magic skills, with the best of them having domain over earth, wind, and lightning elements. The Diablo 4 Server Slam start time isn't far away, so this is the chance to try the Druid, including all of the balance updates, in advance of potentially one of the best PC games of 2023. Mech Punk is taking the piss, and I like it. Deliberately opaque games are one thing. Artsy games making a point (that seldom grab me, I shouldn't admit) are another. But Mech Punk is something else altogether, and an incredibly rare game that actually earns the "punk" in its title.

Does that mean it's good? Well, umm. Yes, it's good at what I think it sets out to do. Being an irreverent mess is a valid artistic approach, but still means your game is exactly that. It's not a good game in the traditional sense, though. Do I recommend you buy it? If you can spare £20 to pat an artist on the back, maybe. What kind of artist? Put it this way: on release, its developer changed all their Steam page credits to "Alan Smithee". I don't think they're disowning it.

HoloCure

The fan-made Hololive game HoloCure will be officially available to download via Steam. Developer Kay Yu's announcement was made via a document in English and Japanese posted on the game's Twitter account following the same style as a VTuber agency's official statement. In addition, the existing game launcher will no longer be supported.

Take a look at the official HoloCure statement in English from the game's Twitter account below.

https://twitter.com/HoloCureGame/status/1656778815102914560?s=20

Kay Yu explained that the Hololive fan-game launcher will be discontinued, in exchange for Steam being the main storefront for downloading and updating the game. On the same note, the Steam release will arrive when update 0.6 is finished. Additionally, all progress made prior to the relocation will be carried over to the Steam version.

Before the game launcher, updates for HoloCure would mean going to the game's official itch.io site and downloading them separately. With the Steam version, updates will be downloaded and installed automatically like other games on the platform. However, players can copy and back up the "save_n.dat" file from the game folder as a precautionary measure. The itch.io portal will also keep posting each new update as per usual.

According to the statement, the development team reached out to Cover Corp, Hololive's parent company, and received the approval to continue in the new storefront as an unofficial free fan-game. Moreover, HoloCure's creator Kay Yu explained the announcement was intentionally written in a worrying style as a joke. Furthermore, a teaser for the game's new update was also shared.

As a reminder, the most recent game update for HoloCure brought even more Japanese VTubers as playable characters. These included Hololive 1st and 2nd generation members. There are now 24 available, each with various skills and alternative skins. More content is planned to arrive with later updates.

HoloCure is readily available for PC via itch.io download. There is no official release date yet for Steam.

Cover Reports Growth in Hololive VTuber Financial Report

In a Financial Results
for FY2023/3 report
, Cover revealed how much money its Hololive VTuber talents are making for the company. It saw exponential financial growth over the past few years, as well as seeing more and more subscribers to its various channels. In particular, it made almost 50% more money in March 2023 compared to the previous fiscal year.

For FY2023, Cover reported a revenue of 20.451 billion yen. That would be about $150.8 million. After all of its expenses, its net profit was around 2.5 billion yen, which is around $18.4 million. Most of this money came from merchandise (8 billion yen) and streaming (6.342 billion yen). Cover has contracts with 75 VTubers as of March 31, 2023, who have 75.58 million subscribers between them all.

The main Hololive channels are still the most popular in terms of subscribers, with 46.82 million new ones in 2023. In terms of revenue, there was a huge increase of revenue between Q4 and Q3 of FY2023/3. Though only four new VTubers joined the group, Cover saw an increase of 31 million JPY in revenue between the two quarters. It attributes this to talent debuts in new areas, as well as putting more money into its current talents. It highlights Hoshimachi Suisei's singing career as an example.

In order to continue growing, Cover plans on releasing more Hololive merchandise lines and product licensing. So there might be more companies and intellectual properties collaborating with Hololive in the future. It has also invested in a new motion capture studio for more 3D content, Metaverse services, and the Holoplus app. Holoplus will come out in Summer 2023. Meanwhile, Metaverse projects will cost around 2-2.3 billion yen until FY2024/3.

Cover is continuing to develop its talents, as well as working on its long-term projects such as Holoearth.

Pokemon Miraidon Koraidon plushes

The Pokemon Company will release plush toys of Miraidon and Koraidon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. They'll be available in physical Pokemon stores in Japan from May 20, 2023. However, if you plan to buy them online, then you can start purchasing them from May 18, 2023. They cost 5500 JPY (~$41) each. While they aren't available worldwide yet, Pokemon Center plush due tend to appear in the online storefronts after a time.

Both of them are in their Ride forms, which is the appearance they take for the majority of a player's time in Paldea. Unlike most Legendary Pokemon in the long-running series, Koraidon and Miraidon are allies of the player trainer from the start, serving a fast and convenient way to travel around the map. Koraidon moves around on four legs, whereas Miraidon is closer to a motorbike.

Koraidon and Miraidon, who essentially look like giant big lizards, may not resemble a typically "cute" Pokemon. However, The Pokemon Company has been releasing quite a few toys of its more non-standard critters. For example, Armarouge and Ceruledge were the poster Pokemon for their own collection of Pokemon Kids snacks back in March 2023. This line also included conventionally cute Pokemon such as Fidough and Jigglypuff.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch. The Miraidon and Koraidon Pokemon plushes will be available online from May 18, 2023 in Japan. They'll be in stores from May 20, 2023.

Which Sony PlayStation Console Do You Love Most Best Sony Console pLaystation 3

For years, Sony's been releasing all sorts of consoles and handhelds worldwide. Each one does something special. From the beginnings with the PlayStation, all the way up through the PS5, there are plenty of reasons why each one could be consider "the best" by the players who loved them. Not to mention what the handhelds are capable of as well. So this week, let's talk about them and which ones we love the most.

These days, consoles are a mishmash of a gaming machine, a YouTube machine, and a Blu-Ray player. You know, back in my day, consoles were just consoles. And that's why I think the PS2 was the perfect one. (Yes, I'm aware that the PS2 doubled as a DVD player but did anyone use it as that?) Honestly, I just like the PS2 because in my opinion, it had the best range and offering of games. No one does horror like how PS2 games did horror, and all of the best RPGs came out on it. Also, I really liked the little animation with the cubes whenever you started up a game. That little bit of whimsy was so early-2000s and we need to bring back that kind of aesthetic. — Stephanie

It might be nostalgia talking, but for me, nothing has really topped the PS1 for me. From the moment that bass-y startup sound blasted out of my TV for the first time, I knew it was something special. I could talk about all the usual classics, but we already know how great Final Fantasy VII is. Instead, I want to acknowledge how much the PS1 represents the Wild West that was late 90s gaming. No one knew what they were doing with CD-ROM tech or 3D graphics yet so it was an exciting and experimental time. As a result, its library is astoundingly weird in all the best ways. Sony certainly aren't releasing at least four animal-based music games for the PS5, and that's why the PS1 is still the better system. — Leigh

While I really enjoyed all the PS1 and PS2 games I played over the years and the PS5 is the best Genshin Impact machine Sony ever made, the PS3 is my favorite system. Honestly, it's because of it being region-free. I always loved importing games, and this provided an opportunity to access so many games from Japan. I don't even want to think about how many hours I spent playing The Idolmaster: One for All. Plus, it's the home of the original Valkyria Chronicles and Tokyo Jungle. — Jenni

I was relatively late to jump on the Sony console train, with my first one being the PSP. While I feel like I skipped a lot of Sony hardware history, I think that the first Sony portable was a great way soaking up a condensed version of that history. I was able to catch up and play a lot of PS1 classics on it, and I loved discovering new releases (back then,) like the original Crisis Core FFVII, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and starting my journey on the Monster Hunter series. — Daniel

While Sony's home systems have received the most acclaim, I'm a fan of the underdog handheld. The one with a devoted following, mostly in Japan, that wasn't given the chance it deserved. You know the one, yeah?

That's right! The PocketStation.

In all seriousness, the Vita is such a cool little handheld, often despite itself. The crisp PSP pixels on that screen are great! The PS1 classics are fun on the go! And it became quite the home of great ports. It undeniably lacked exclusives that took advantage of the platform, but there's enough in the library to enjoy.

Also, in all seriousness, I do like the PocketStation. — Graham

Yotsuba Nendoroid Comes Dressed for Winter Weather

Good Smile Company announced exactly when the Yotsuba Winter Clothes Nendoroid will appear. The fact that she is in her coat, hat, and scarf is appropriate, as she'll be around this winter. She'll launch in Japan in October 2023 for ¥6,600. In North America, she has a Q4 2023 launch window and costs $47.99.

While she is a little less expensive than most Nendoroid figures, the Yotsuba one has the same amount of parts. She comes with her teddy bear Juralumin (Julietta), which she can hold or have posed beside her. You can also have her scarf on or off. However, her hat can't be removed.

Here's a closer look at Yotsuba and Juralumin.

New Fullmetal Alchemist Edward and Alphonse Figure Costs Almost $300

Proof shared new details about its upcoming Fullmetal Alchemist Edward and Alphonse figure. It will debut in Japan sometime in November 2023. It features the two brothers together. This is a static figure with no additional parts or poses. It will cost 39,600円 (~$292) once it launches. It is Proof's first figure based on characters from the series.

Here's a closer look at Edward and Alphonse in some of the official photos. The figure will be about 240mm (over 9 and a half inches) tall. This is mainly due to the Alphonse portion of the figure, due to Edward being shorter even with his standing on the rocks.

This is far from the most expensive Fullmetal Alchemist figure of Edward and Alphonse. The price point isn't unexpected. However, there's also an incredibly elaborate and expensive Prime1 Studio Masterline figure of the brothers. It cost 264,000円 (about $1,950). It was 1/4 scale, meaning it stands at around two feet tall.

The Proof Fullmetal Alchemist Edward and Alphonse figure will appear in November 2023 in Japan. People can watch the anime on Crunchyroll, and Viz Media handles the manga.

Square Enix Sales Declined in Last Fiscal Year, Report Shows

Square Enix shared its Consolidated Financial Resultsfor the Fiscal Year Ended March 31, 2023 going over its sales. According to the official document, the company saw a decrease in net sales from games released compared to the previous fiscal year. On the other hand, merchandise sales increased greatly. In addition, the company showed more interest in investing in AI, blockchain, and cloud-based projects.

In the earnings report, Square Enix stated that the net sales in High-Definition (HD) game releases decreased between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023, compared to the same period in the previous report. For context, some of the games released this last fiscal year were Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion, Forspoken, and Octopath Traveller II.

The MMO segment also saw a decrease in net sales, which Square Enix pointed out could have been caused due to the lack of a new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. As for the sales decline in games for smart devices and PC browsers, the company only said it was because existing titles showed weak performance. All of these areas summed up a decrease of 12.2% compared to the prior fiscal year.

Other areas such as book publication and merchandising, saw a sales increase of 0.5% and 11.9% each, respectively. However, there was a decline in operating income also for both areas with a decrease of 4.8% and 6.5% each. This could have been caused due to higher production costs, advertising expenses, and changes in expected income from the various products.

In response to these findings, Square Enix made a call to action to prioritize establishing a stable recurring income. In that sense, the company explained the strategy to date has been to focus on income through MMO, arcade, mobile games, and book publishing, so as to invest the earnings on the development of HD games. Hence, the new approach for a broader expansion will include "aggressive research and development efforts and investment" in AI, cloud, and blockchain games, stated the company.

This news follows previous statements by current Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda that blockchain games are planned to come in the fiscal year 2024. As a reminder, Matsuda will give his seat in June 2023 to Takashi Kiryu, who has not commented publicly yet about NFTs or blockchain plans.

Monolith Soft Helped Develop The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Monolith Soft announced that it was part of the development team for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Specifically, it worked on the game design, programming, and graphics. Monolith Soft is a video game development studio that became part of Nintendo in 2007.

Though Monolith Soft was not the sole developer for Tears of the Kingdom, it worked on the game in a supporting capacity. This is what it also did with Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds, and the prequel game Breath of the Wild. Monolith Soft is a studio that used to work alongside Bandai Namco before Nintendo bought it in 2007. Non-The Legend of Zelda titles the studio has developed in the past include the Xenosaga series, the Xenoblade series, and the Project X Zone games.

As mentioned earlier, Monolith Soft helped to develop Breath of the Wild. Both Breath of the WIld and Tears of the Kingdom are open-world adventures in which Link roughs it out in Hyrule in order to defeat the evil spreading across the land. He can use various gadgets and tools to help him on the journey. The prequel also introduced the cooking mechanic, which Tears of the Kingdom also has.

We can find The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch now.

How to Get Tears of the Kingdom for a Lower Price

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will cost people quite a bit, as this is the first Nintendo Switch game with a price of $69.99. While there aren't any major sales at launch, it is possible to pay less for it. There are a number of promotions and means of getting it for around $10 less than usual.

If you're okay with a digital copy, then a Nintendo Switch Game Voucher would work! (If your memory card has enough room, I recommend it.) For $99.98, Nintendo will give you two vouchers that can be used to acquire select games. the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is eligible, even though its price is $69.99 and most of the other applicable titles cost $59.99. Since you'd be getting two games for basically $100, that means you'd be getting it for about $50.

[caption id="attachment_962841" align="alignnone" width="1200"]How to Get Tears of the Kingdom for a Lower Price Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]
One way is to go to a warehouse club store with a subscription. Costco is selling physical copies of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for $60, rather than the usual price of $70. It also had an online-only bundle that included a matching PowerA Switch carrying case for $74.99, but that sold out.

Sam's Club also slightly discounted the game. It is selling a physical copy for $64.98.

If you have additional games you finished playing, you could also rely on GameStop's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom trade-in promotion to "lower" the price of the game via trades and make it cost $20. However, that does mean you need to turn in two applicable games from the official list of 139 titles.

Finally, Amazon and Walmart are offering incredibly minor discounts. It is $69 flat direct from both stores. It barely makes a difference, but is below $70.

Pixiv Fanbox Bans AI Art

Yet another company banned AI art, with this time Pixiv FANBOX disallowing illustrations made with outside assistance. The company statement noted this applies to all works "for the time being." As a result, it will change its Terms of Use and Guidelines and eventually make some items content or even suspend people for using the technology.

Pixiv in general is often used by people to share original and fan art. The Pixiv FANBOX option involves specific, sometimes notable, creators sharing their art in exchange for monetary support. However, said artists may also share some pieces for free. Fire Emblem Engage Main Character Designer Mika Pikazo is a good example. Her page allows people to support her for a fee. However, she also shares art for everyone to see, like this free update with Hakos Baelz and Apex Legends character art of Ash, Wattson, and Revenant.

Here is the full Pixiv FANBOX statement on AI art as taken from its official announcement.

FANBOX was created with the goal of helping creators improve their creative activities through continuous support from their fans.

We encourage creators to share not only their works, but also their creative process, thoughts, and more, in order to build a community with their fans.

However, in the current state of FANBOX, we have seen a growing trend of using AI only to create and profit from content produced much faster than was traditionally possible. This deviates from the original intentions of our service as a place for creators to thrive, and we have come to the conclusion that we cannot ignore this situation.

As a result, we have decided that we will prohibit AI-generated work on FANBOX for the time being.

Details regarding the effective date of the revised Terms of Use and Guidelines, as well as the definition of AI-generated work on FANBOX, will be announced at a later date. After the effective date, we will take action against posts that use AI-generated content, including issuing warnings, making them private, and suspending creator accounts. Posts and creator accounts that already exist will be subject to the same restrictions.

We sincerely apologize to anyone who may be inconvenienced by these revisions. Going forward, FANBOX will continue to review and update its Terms of Use and Guidelines in accordance with the advancements and changes in the community surrounding AI technology.

DLsite also recently announced it will stop selling art and manga generated by AI.

Uzumaki and Uchiha Family Attacks Appear in Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections

There's a new update on Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, and this one led off by showing the Naruto, Hinata, and Boruto's Uzumaki family and Sasuke, Sakura, and Sarada's Uchiha family combination technique attack. Bandai Namco's announcement explained how each one works and showed screenshots from it. It also went over the online versus mode options, as well as showed the cat ear customization players can earn.

When it comes to the Uzumaki and Uchiha family combination secret techniques, Naruto's is far sillier. It doesn't feature the full family, as Himawari is absent. Rather than all three attacking, it's really just Hinata doing the damage. This is because Boruto brought along X Cards, including one that embarrassed her, and the ensuing "assault" involves her feelings about the situation. Conversely, the Uchiha family's attack is far more serious, involving each family member doing their part before Sarada performs Chidori.

Here's Naruto, Hinata, and Boruto Uzumaki performing Uzumaki Double Palm Strike.

As for online fights, there will be ranked and casual options. Normal controls will be available. A "Simple" option will be present, but the announcement didn't note if any limitations will keep it from being used online. The latest announcement also showed the cat ears that will be a battle reward. In the past, we learned Baryon Mode Naruto and Supporting Kage Sasuke would appear in this entry.
