Elden Ring Won't Feature 3D Audio, But It Looks Like There Will Be Haptic Feedback Support On PS5

Elden Ring is one of the most anticipated games for 2022, as fans of FromSoftware's bone-crushingly difficult odyssey's simply can't wait to get crushed all over again, and while the latest update does concern all fans, it specifically concerns those on PS5, as we now know Elden Ring should support the DualSense controller's haptic feedback, but no 3D audio.

The news comes from website UnGeek, who were able to get a direct answer on the matter from Yasuhiro Kitao, the marketing and production head of FromSoftware. When asked about what PS5 features Elden Ring will utilize, Kitao said "We are not considering 3D audio at the moment, but we are looking at ways to implement the haptic feedback of the DualSense controller."

While it is disappointing to hear we shouldn't expect 3D audio, at least not at launch if not ever, it is far more exciting to hear that we should be getting haptic feedback support. The DualSense controller continues to be one of the best aspects of owning a PS5, and the fact that many third part developers including FromSoftware are looking towards implementing its features this early in the console's life.

It is important to note that something could change, as the quote doesn't directly say they're already implemented, but that they are looking at ways of implementing them, so it is entirely possible they don't make it into the final game.

If nothing else, it bodes well for how the controller will be further utilized, and how creative we can see developers become with the new hardware overall. Elden Ring is set to release on January 28, 2022.

Timothy's Night Is A Noire Styled Action-Adventure Game And It's The Latest PS5 Exclusive

For any PlayStation fan concerned about the fact that Horizon Forbidden West has now been officially confirmed as delayed until 2022 with its new February release date, there will still be plenty of PS5 games and more specifically PS5 exclusive games, like Timothy's Night.

Developed and published by Wildsphere, if you've ever thought it would be a fun time to mow down alien's with a classic 30's style tommy gun, then you're definitely not alone, because so did the team behind Timothy's Night. Fend off an alien invasion all while exploring this noire styled town called Little Fish City.

The few items that are coloured in the game really pop, and it all serves to make this stylized animation work very well to create an impressive image. What's more is that by the looks of the trailer, it is just as fun to play as it is good to look at.

According to the developers, they've taken great care to really utilize the DualSense's features, implementing almost 200 different kinds of haptic vibrations.

The best part is, you can jump into Timothy's Night right now, as it's already up on the PSN store for you to purchase.

Farming Simulator 22 Gameplay Trailer Looks At France's Haut-Beyleron Map

Giants Software has unwrapped a fresh trailer for Farming Simulator 22, although this one's a bit more dialed down than the cinematic showcase we got for the game earlier this year. Nonetheless, fans of the developer's agriculture-'em-up should get a kick out of it, as there's a new map on offer: Haut-Beyleron.

Based in France, this map is full of some lovely backdrops including castles and chateaus, and offers the ideal location to expand your horizons with vine yards and olives. It joins the previously-confirmed American and Alphine-based settings.

Check out the new Farming Simulator 22 gameplay trailer below.

Possible GTA 6 Character Captain McClane Outed By Voice Actor Dave Jackson

Voice actor Dave Jackson has apparently confirmed one of the first Grand Theft Auto 6 characters in the shape of Police bigwig Captain McClane.

Jackson took to his Facebook page to share the following message with fans:

So…I just found out from the producers, that it's official: I will play the role of police chief CAPTAIN McCLANE in the new Grand Theft Auto series. I didn't have the heart to tell them that I didn't really have time for it! Haha! Yep…someday I WILL take a nap! I know it! I JUST KNOW IT! Haha! Seriously, it is a privilege to work with such a professional and fun group of folks. If you are a gamer, stay tuned…

It's worth noting Jackson's wording of GTA series, not GTA 6, which could suggest it's something else, such as content for GTA Online. When asked about this on Facebook, he revealed that Rockstar is "producing a trailer, so I HOPE it's GTA 6."

To be be honest, this is very unlikely to be something like GTA 6, seeing as such a huge project would not just allow one of its attached voice actors to yell about it on social media. In other words, take this with a large dose of salt.

GTA 6 has yet to be officially announced by Take-Two or Rockstar Games, but the latest rumors suggest it will not be released until 2025 at the very earliest.

Hidetaka Miyazaki Is Writing Elden Ring's In-Game Text, Not George R.R. Martin

The in-game text seen in FromSoftware's Elden Ring is not being handled by George R.R. Martin, but rather, Hidetaka Miyazaki. The pair are collaborating on the upcoming fantasy title, but Martin's contributions focussed more on the game world and mythos.

Martin himself had said that he wrapped up his involvement in Elden Ring years ago, leaving the rest up to Miyazaki-san and his team.

Yasuhiro Kitao of FromSoftware commented in an interview with IGN: "In From fashion, the story is told in fragments, and we haven't changed our principle of providing a world and narrative that the player can interpret for themselves," adding that Miyazaki-san is "at the forefront of the text, writing the text in the game."

Elden Ring is pencilled in for a January 21, 2022 release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Miyazaki previously revealed that Elden Ring will take players around 30 hours to complete for its main story, and offers more freedom than previous games from his studio.
