     Best Skyrim mods 2024

What are the best Skyrim mods? They can be tough to find because there's a lot of them. They're the work of a thriving and diverse scene; an army of fans and bedroom coders determined to make the game a photorealistic fantasy. Or they're just out to transform farmyard animals into deadly explosives. Whatever floats. But when you're looking for the best Skyrim mods, where do you start?

Installing mods is quite simple for one of the best PC games and arguably the most popular RPG game there. This is due mainly to how Steam Workshop makes it easy to install and activate them, but also that you can add the more advanced ones to a special folder within your Skyrim files. You can also check out our guide to Skyrim console commands for more tips on changing up the open-world game or just making it utterly chaotic. The choice is yours.

This Cyberpunk 2077 update is essential for Intel CPU owners

CD Projekt Red has issued an update for Cyberpunk 2077 that means players will be able to decide for themselves just which of their Intel CPU cores to use to run the game. If you find the game runs better using only Intel performance cores, you can opt to have this happen or you can leave the game/OS/CPU to handle things without intervention.

When Intel unveiled its hybrid CPU architecture that meant some new CPUs have a combination of slower but power efficient cores and faster, more energy-sucking cores, it made life for software developers a little more tricky. Now, all of a sudden, software and games such as Cyberpunk 2077 had to decided whether to opt for speed and use performance cores, sit in the background and use efficiency cores, or let the operating system and CPU decide.

LoL tier list patch 14.2 – top, jungle, mid, ADC and support champions

What are the best League of Legends champions? Metas change, the LoL tier list will fluctuate, and it could be that your favorite champion might not be in a great place right now. While you can win games and climb the ranked ladder with nearly anyone in the lower ranks, the changes that come via champion and item balancing can tip the scales enough that some picks are almost mandatory, regardless of which rank you play in.

We've studied the latest LoL patch notes for update 14.2 and found the strongest champions in League of Legends right now. Whether it's due to a buff, kit change, or item change, these picks will give you the best chance to climb the solo queue ranks in the free PC game. If you do want to play something other than what's on this list, keep these champions in mind for your ban, as they all have the potential to go on and dominate Summoner's Rift.

It has also crashed twice during cutscenes. It's a shame, because I've quite enjoyed the bits that I have played (which amount to about half of the campaign, in single player). As a cross section of the three of us who have the game, one hasn't been able to boot it at all, and it works apparently perfectly for the other - and we tested both the retail build and the review build. I can't speak to what your odds will be if you get it, but sure, if it works, you'll have a fun enough time, probably?

If the RTX 4070 Super was all about addressing its predecessor's so-so performance gains, the RTX 4080 Super's course correction is more deeply rooted in issues of cold, hard coinage. For better and worse, it turns out – while this Super-fied GPU knocks hundreds off the RTX 4080's starting price, any excitement for a potential new 4K champion is quickly muted by it barely moving the dial on straight FPS output. If, indeed, it's not somehow running slower.

Yukari Japanese Voice Actor Talks About Persona 3 Reload

Atlus recently shared on social media some words from Megumi Toyoguchi, the Japanese voice actor for Yukari Takeba in Persona 3 Reload. Toyoguchi talked about her experience with the Persona series and revisiting the character for the remake.

When asked about her feelings regarding Yukari Takeba, and her experience recording for Persona 3 Reload, Toyoguchi said that the main difference in recording the lines for the remake was that she could clearly imagine the voices of the rest of the cast in her head. She also mentioned that she felt a bit embarrassed when voicing romance lines, and that she feels the most comfortable when recording lines interacting with Junpei.

Toyoguchi was also asked about her memories and impressions of P3 and the Persona series. While the original Persona 3 was released in 2006, Toyoguchi mentioned that at that point in time they didn't have the opportunity to meet fans in person. The actor recalls her first time standing in front of an audience of Persona fans at the stage of an event for the release of the Persona 3 movies. Toyoguchi also said that it gave her goosebumps hearing the music live at the event.

Persona 3 Reload will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 2, 2024.

PlayStation Plus February 2024 Games Led by Square Enix's Latest

Sony confirmed the three PlayStation Plus February 2024 games. We already knew Square Enix's Foamstars (PS4, PS5) would launch day-one on the service, and it will be joined by Rollerdome (PS4, PS5) and Steelrising (PS5).

Foamstars is an entirely new multiplayer game that is a third-person shooter not unlike Splatoon. However, players in the 4v4 title use foam as a way to get around and coat the map. It launches on February 6, 2024 on the service. It will be $29.99 when it leaves PlayStation Plus.

Rollerdome is another third-person shooter, but this one is a solo-only affair. It's a futuristic game where players are on skates in the titular Rollerdome trying to survive while also investigating a corproration. It launched in August 2022 and normally costs $29.99.

Finally, Steelrising is an action-RPG set in an alternate version of the French Revolution. Players follow the bodyguard of Marie Antoinette, who is an automaton named Aegis, customizing their avatar's attack style in the hopes of toppling King Louis XVI. It launched in September 2022 and normally is $49.99.

As a reminder, the January 2024 PlayStation Plus games were Evil West (PS4, PS5), Nobody Saves the World (PS4, PS5), and A Plague Tale: Requiem (PS5). They  can be claimed until February 5, 2024

The February 2024 PlayStation Plus games will be available on February 6, 2024.

FFXIV Valentione's Day 2024 Valentine's Event Features a New Emote

Square Enix announced the dates and details for the FFXIV Valentione's Day event appearing for Valentine's Day starting on February 7, 2024 and offered a peek at its new emote. This year, people can get a Love Heart.

To kick things off this year, you'll need to go to Old Gridania and head to X:10.2, Y:9.4. You'll find Astrid waiting there with the quest "The Symbol of Love." As long as you are at level 15, you can take it and start working toward your new rewards.

As usual, there's a new FFXIV emote and piece of furniture for Valentine's Day. When used, the Love Heart emote causes the player character to make heart hands in front of themselves while six hearts also appear around them. As for the chair, it is brown and pink with a heart shaped design on the back.

Here's how both of the new items look in-game.

Once the event kicks off, people will also be able to go to the  House Valentione maid to buy some past event items. If it follows the same pattern as last year's event, people should find that  person at X:10.7, Y8.8 in Old Gridania. As a reminder, the 2023 event added an Eat Chocolate emote and the 2022 one offered Chocobo Barding as a reward.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, with 6.55 part 2 available as of January 2024. It is also headed to the Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. The Dawntrail expansion is in development for a Summer 2024 release. The Valentione's Day event runs February 7-21, 2024.

2.0 Honkai: Star Rail Updates Relic and Support Character Systems

HoYoVerse always goes over new features in game updates ahead of patches, and the 2.0 Honkai: Star Rail one will feature major quality of life changes to the Relic and Support Character systems. There will be more options for each one.

The Relic system changes are the most extensive ones. You can now mark ones you know you'll want to discard and turn into experience items or Relic Remains when you get them or go through your items. If it is a five-star item, when salvaging you can choose if you want it to become a Relic Remain. You can also set limits so when you add experience items, it will only go until the next node level that adds a stat, instead of indiscriminately adds as many experience items as possible to level it up as high as you can. Finally, new exclusion filtering and recommended combination options will make it easier to pick which items you select and equip.

As for the Honkai: Star Rail Support Character system, people now can set more options. Currently, someone can set one supporter and then three companions. As a result of the roster growing and to offer more options, that cap will increase. People can set three Supports after the update. This means friends have more options to choose from as temporary allies when repeating certain challenges. You can also set five Starfaring Companions in your showcase.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 2.0 update will arrive on February 6, 2024.

Yuffie and Tifa Beat Foes With a Diner Tray and Oven Mitts in FFVII EC This Valentine's Day

Square Enix and Applibot decided that Yuffie and Tifa will be beating enemies with household utensils as weapons for Valentine's Day in FFVII Ever Crisis. Yuffie gets a Diner Tray via the latest banner, while people can earn Tifa Oven Mitts during The Secret Sweetheart event storyline.

The Yuffie new weapon and outfit is on a Valentine's Day banner until February 18, 2024. Her new Dinner Tray weapon has the C. Ability Twister. That hits one enemy and deals 850% wind damage to them. This could prove handy for bosses. There is also Sparkling Skater gear for her. That's a pink waitress-style outfit. Its two R. Abilities are Boost PATK, to deal physical attack, and Windstrike Arcanum to increase the amount of damage she'll deal with every wind attack.

Here's how both look in-game.

As for the Oven Mitts, you can earn these from Tifa during the FFVII Ever Crisis Valentine's Day event The Secret Sweetheart. If you earn Score Battle Keys, you can exchange for the new equipment. That weapon has the Solid Bravery C. Ability that gives an ally a PATK buff and Regen for a limited time. Its R. Ability boosts Tifa's HP, and that caps out at 27 extra points.

Here's how that looks.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for the PC and mobile devices. Both the new Yuffie Valentine's Day banner and this The Secret Sweetheart event will run until February 18, 2024.

resident evil bath salts

Capcom released more bath salts based on the herbs from Resident Evil. You'll now be able to get Blue Herb and Yellow Herbs.

Previously in August 2021, Capcom released a series of bath salts based on two of the most iconic herbs that you can find in a Resident Evil game. You could get Red and Green Herb bath salts for around $5 each, with the in-game image of the plant appearing on the packaging. In most of the games, the Herbs appear in a powder format that your character then sprays all over themself. Since these are bath salts, spraying yourself with them will not grant you the same benefits as dissolving them in water and sitting in the liquid.

The Resident Evil Blue and Yellow Herb bath salts will appear in the online Capcom store from January 31, 2024 and in the physical ones from February 2, 2024. The webpage for the bath salts does not give any information on what scent or benefits they have. They cost 550 JPY each, which is around $3.70. As a note, Capcom would like to remind consumers that Umbrella, the "company" that made these bath salts, is fictional and does not represent any existing organization in real life.

The herb bath salts will appear in the Capcom stores from January 31, 2024.

FFVII Rebirth Plays Birthday Song for FFVII's 27th Anniversary

In order to celebrate the Final Fantasy VII 27th Anniversary, Square Enix released a brand new clip from FFVII Rebirth showing off the piano mini-game by showing Cloud playing a rendition of "Happy Birthday." The clip shows off the free play function which allows players to perform any song they would like using the piano mini-game's inputs.

Final Fantasy VII originally released on January 31, 1997 in Japan on the PlayStation and has sold over 13.9 million copies worldwide since its release. The game spawned multiple spin-offs and sequels in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, including Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII G-Bike, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, and Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis.

FFVII Remake released in 2020 as the first part of the remake trilogy. Square Enix announced it sold more than 7 million copies worldwide.

The piano mini-game in FFVII Rebirth allows players to collect a piece of sheet music and try playing the song as Cloud. Each piece features music from the game, ranging from easy to extremely challenging. Also, as mentioned earlier, players are also able to improvise and play songs of their own choosing by using free play mode. Footage of "Happy Birthday" being played on the piano can be viewed below:

Recently, FFVII Rebirth's developers released a brand new blog post for the official PlayStation Blog discussing the game and the possible fate of Aerith. In the post, FFVII Rebirth Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura stated that he wishes for fans to "experience what waits for them at the end of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth" themselves and experience it first-hand.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will release on the PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. FFVII Ever Crisis is available on PC and mobile devices.

Pocketpair Warns About Fake Palworld Android and iOS Mobile Games

Pocketpair sent out an alert about fake Palworld mobile games showing up on Android and iOS storefronts. It's a standard reminder that the company isn't behind the titles and there are no mobile adaptations of the game.

Here's the official announcement. In it, Pocketpair noted that it reported the offending Android and iOS apps to both Apple and Google, so the fake Palworld mobile games could eventually disappear.

https://twitter.com/Palworld_EN/status/1752584670322348074

At a glance, a few Palworld apps are showing up on storefront. For example, there's a MapGenie: Palworld Mapand a Palworld Guidefrom Concept Squares. Beatomni on the subreddit for the game also pointed to a pre-order for a fake game from Oleksandra Kryvcun called PalWorld supposedly coming out on February 4, 2024 in a European App Store.

However, we could eventually see an official mobile game from Pocketpair. It is working with Klab on a mobile "hybrid-casual" game. It is unknown if that will be tied to Palworld. However, the companies did note they'd been working together to develop a new project since 2020.

Palworld is available in early access on the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. There's no word yet on when Pocketpair and KLab's mobile game will appear.

Granblue Fantasy Relink

When I first got my hands on Granblue Fantasy Relink in December 2023, I already knew it was going to be one of my favorite titles of 2024. Having now experienced the game in full, some of that passion cooled, but that doesn't mean that Relink isn't worth playing. While some may certainly feel out out of their depth when engaging with the lore and certain plot beats the game throws their way, it's an incredibly proficient action game with a decent post-game to keep playtime long and players engaged.

Granblue Fantasy Relink starts off with the protagonist character (Gran or Djeeta) and crew on the fantastical airship called the Grandcypher. While traversing the skies they come under fire. The Astral Bahamut is no longer heeding the call of Lyria, a young girl who is capable of harness the power of the Astrals. (These are elemental beings of untold power that appear in the mobile game as raid bosses and summons.) The Grandcypher is nearly destroyed while fighting off the raging Astral, and the crew is sent plummeting towards the sky-island below.

From there, Gran, Lyria, and a handful of characters to get you started end up assisting Rolan, a character new to the Granblue series, in soothing another Astral that has gone mad and is ravaging mines just out of Folca. The story progresses with a series of quests that remain mostly uneventful until Lyria is quickly kidnapped by Id, a member of a mysterious religious organization that remains a constant enemy as you explore more islands and take on more Astrals.

The narrative is stock and standard, and it doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is. It's a fantasy adventure in a colorful world that is ultimately about the power of friendship and redemption. It reminded me a lot of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, in the way that it wears its heart on its sleeve. You won't really get any kind of narrative depth out of Granblue Fantasy Relink, but it's earnest in its intentions, and sometimes that's good enough. Ultimately, the message of the game is a hopeful one even as the story continues into the post-game.

Image via Cygames

One of my minor gripes with Granblue Fantasy Relink is that the characters you can recruit through Crewmate Cards, which are obtained as you progress the main scenario, aren't really acknowledged in the main scenario outside of a few throwaway lines if you take them with you. You can learn more about them through their Fate Episodes, which more or less break down who they are and how they came into the company of Gran in the mobile game, but they don't hold any real importance aside from showing up in cutscenes alongside Gran or Djeeta. I ended up recruiting Percival, the Lord of Flames, fairly early on in my playthrough, but it didn't make much of a difference in terms of character dialogue as the story solely focuses around the protagonist (which you will need to take into every story mission with you until you get into the post-game) and their relationship with Lyria and the crewmates you start the game with. These include Katalina, Rackam, Eugen, Io, and Rosetta.

Thankfully, Granblue Fantasy Relink does set you off with a pretty decent roster — I took Io with me well into the post-game — with each member filling the slot of each element which becomes important later. Taking advantage of these elemental weaknesses helps make bosses encounters somewhat easier on higher difficulties. It is strongly encouraged for certain post-game bosses.

Combat in Granblue Fantasy Relink is absolutely stellar. While characters can only equip a total of four skills at a time, you can swap them out while not in combat or before undertaking optional quests at the Quest Counter, which I'll get to in a bit. Each character has a unique feel and weight to them. Siegfried, a once disgraced knight that wields a great sword and jumps around like Artorias from Dark Souls, feels heavier in comparison to faster characters like Lancelot ,who dashes around the field while laying waste to enemies with his dual blades. Caster character can send out barrages of magic or concentrate that power for charging skills to deal bursts of damage. No character really feels the same, even if they encompass a similar role. Both Rackam and Eugen are ranged attackers, but Rackam rains bullets on foes and Eugen can snipe from a distance. This is what really impressed me with Granblue Fantasy Relink, as it adds a bit of variety to each character plays. Especially since you cannot swap characters mid-battle.

Image via Cygames

Outside of the main story, which took me about 10 or so hours to complete, the game is filled with optional content, even if it some it is recycled. The Quest Counter is a great way to grind out materials to forge and level up new weapons or upgrade your Sigils, which are passives you can assign each character outside of their individual skill trees. These missions are divided into a few types: boss encounters, clearing waves of enemies, or protecting an object. This is also where the online multiplayer function kicks in, as you can undertake these missions with friends or randoms who hop into your online lobby. You are scored based on sub-objectives and given a rank after the mission is completed that can grant more rewards.

Outside of obtaining useful upgrade or crafting items, grinding these missions also rewards the player with more Sigils and helps grind Mastery Points. These are used to unlock character passives, new skills, and even increase how quickly your "limit break" charges when attacking enemies. Passives are extremely important and upgrading weapons also net you some passives, so it's all about the grind to increase the power of your team to make sure they can make it through some of the hardest fights the post-game has to offer.

While the post-game does offer more content for the player to sink their teeth into, most of it involves recycled boss fights from the main scenario. However, it does allow players to explore the islands discovered through the main story, so they can find any secrets they might have missed. What I enjoyed most were those boss fights, which can be done solo in some instances if you really want to test your skill. These are interesting because not only are there phase changes, but bosses can go into an overdrive to deal more damage, become faster, and be more aggressive. The game does reward you for going in during these instances, as you can break them out of this to deal massive amounts of damage.

Image via Cygames

Outside of this, Granblue Fantasy Relink offers a few ways to play the game. Two options are assist modes. One assist mode effectively allows the game to play itself as you move the thumbstick towards enemies to attack them if you are a melee character or move your ranged characters close enough to get some shots off. This cannot be used for higher difficulty quests obtained at the Quest Counter, as you'll need to rely on your skill for that. But if you just want to enjoy the story, you can turn this mode on, adjust the difficulty to your preference, and blast through the narrative with no problem. I did this to get through the segments I had already experienced during the preview event, and it honestly worked fine. The character was dodging appropriately, using Link Attacks (which slow down time similar to Bayonetta's Witch Time once you get a 100% Link with your party), and would save the more powerful group attacks until I triggered them myself.

Ultimately, while Granblue Fantasy Relink may not have the most interesting story, the narrative serves it's purpose, with the best bits being the combat and post-game. It's a more than sufficient action RPG that will give players enough to chew on to keep them entertained for at least upwards of 40 hours if they choose to really engage with everything the game has to offer. I know I'm going to keep playing it on and off for at least the next few months.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink will come out worldwide for the PS4, PS5, and PC on February 1, 2024. A Deluxe Edition is available to purchase.

hatsune miku pumps header

Mayla will release pumps that draw inspiration from Hatsune Miku on January 31, 2024, and you'll be able to buy the shoes from Mayla's website.

The Hatsune Miku pumps from Mayla will come with a special box that uses designs and motifs from her, such as the treble clef and digital circles. Every part of the shoe's design looks like her. There are big teal ribbons on the side to represent her long pigtails, with the strap in front being pink like her hair accessories. It has an 01 on the inside, much like how Miku has 01 on her arm, and there are frills on the shoes to look like her skirt. The shoes cost 29,920 JPY ($202.70), and this price does not include shipping.

Here is a closer look at the Hatsune Miku shoes:

This is not the first time that Mayla released high-heels based on a 2D character. In May 2023, it released high-heels based on the Sailor Senshi as part of a collaboration event for the Sailor Moon Cosmos movie. In November 2023, it released a pair of pumps that looked like Anya from Spy x Family.

You can order the Hatsune Miku pumps from 5:00 PM (your local time) on January 31, 2024.
