Stellaris' next species pack features aquarium ships and a space dragon

November 22, 2021: Stellaris' Aquatics Species Pack is available now.

Stellaris has another species pack coming out to coincide with the release of the grand strategy game's 3.2 'Herbert' update. The Aquatics Species Pack, as you might well guess, adds an oceanic origin, along with a marine-themed new civic, trait, and ascension perk. The Aquatic people fly through space in capital ship-sized aquariums, and seek to please the dragon that circles their homeworld.

Playing with the aquatic origin, you'll begin on a peaceful ocean homeworld. There's one issue, though: it's orbited by a mythical space dragon, whose attitude toward you and your people will determine whether it protects or seeks to destroy you. Apart from that, the aquatics' new Anglers civic means you'll be able to take advantage of the bounties of the sea, and thrive on other oceanic worlds.

For planets that aren't quite as watery, don't worry: the new hydrocentric ascension perk means you'll be able to terraform other worlds, even importing oceans from other planets if need be. To help do that, you'll have a full fleet of ships that function as interstellar aquariums, accompanied by a new adviser who has a distinctive 'Seafarer' voice.

Total Warhammer 3's Nurgle campaign sounds like an entirely new game

There's been quite a lot going on with strategy games in the past few weeks, and so we've only just had the chance to sit down and read the latest Total War blog entry detailing Nurgle campaign mechanics in Total War: Warhammer III. Each of the daemonic factions in Total Warhammer III has introduced all new ideas to the game, but Nurgle might be playing a new game altogether.

As befits his lore, the Plague God doesn't spread through normal means - Nurgle's influence is literally infectious. Buildings, for instance, work differently for Nurgle-aligned factions. These are growths rather than brick-and-mortar structures, and they all have a cycle of life, death, and rebirth. During each phase, structures will confer different bonuses or produce units, and you can learn to control this cycle by researching various technologies and upgrades.

Nurgle units are summoned immediately, although they won't start out at full strength - this system will be familiar if you've played Total War: Three Kingdoms or Thrones of Britannia: A Total War Saga. Their ranks will fill up over the course of the next several turns, although you can speed that up by researching the right techs.

Sea of Thieves has kicked off its big two-part Thanksgiving bash

Leading a life of plunder on the high seas doesn't mean a person can't feel gratitude, and to prove it, Sea of Thieves has kicked off its Feast of Bounty event, coinciding with the American observance of Thanksgiving. From now through November 29, players can participate in two sets of challenges in the pirate game to prepare for and then celebrate the annual feast.

The Feast of Bounty event is split into two phases, each with its own set of challenges. The preparation phase is underway now, and it involves five tasks. First, you'll want to collect a free Feast of Bounty flag from Larinna at the tavern. After that, you'll help prepare for the feast by cooking pieces of chicken or pork, shark or snake, megalodon or kraken, and any kind of fish. Finish all these by the time the festival ends, and you'll earn yourself a nice Feast of Bounty makeup look.

The celebration phase begins November 25, and will introduce its own set of challenges. However, you'll still be able to work on challenges from the preparation phase during this time, so don't worry.

Medieval 2: Total War cheats and console commands

So, you want some Medieval 2: Total War cheats? Using console commands to get a leg up in videogames is a time honoured tradition, although it seems to be more commonly associated with strategy games given their nature. Not every game has them (Civ 6, for example, is oddly absent of cheat codes), but plenty others do.

Medieval 2: Total War is still pretty popular, even after all this time, and being an older Total War game it still retains that more hardcore sensibility that can make it extremely tough at times. But never fear - cheat codes are here! Whether you need to give yourself more money, or give one of your characters a specific trait, there's plenty of options to make your game easier.

We've put together this guide to cheats and console commands for the game, to help give you a leg up. A special shoutout to Steam user Sir_Calcium1066, who put together a more comprehensive guide on the subject. We haven't included anything that involves editing game files, as that's more akin to modding than using a traditional 'cheat'.

The Razer Basilisk Ultimate, for instance, is 41% off on Amazon right now.

     The best Minecraft seeds

What are the best Minecraft seeds? Minecraft seeds are codes that the game uses to generate worlds for you - worlds full of interesting landscapes and key landmarks ripe for exploration. They cover everything from jaw-dropping vistas and landscapes to thrilling dungeons filled to bursting with loot.

Your job is simple: pick the one you want to play around in, whether that's a great spawn location or an idyllic landscape. To get a seed up and running, all you have to do is grab the digits and place them into the seed field when you're next creating a Minecraft world. The game will do all the heavy lifting, leaving you to explore and create beautiful Minecraft seeds to your heart's content.

Regardless of whether you're a professional miner or someone about to load up their first world, there's something you can't control in Minecraft: the terrain itself. While your mind may be brimming with possibilities, all too frequently you'll spawn in a bland, uninspiring world full of flat grassland and the odd chicken. Hardly the canvas for your masterpiece. Hence this article, a complete collection of the best Minecraft seeds, from the inspiring to the functional and everything in between.

The best 4X games on PC

So, you want to know about the best 4X games? At its core this type of experience allows the player to do four things; eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate, and eXplore. 4X games can end up giving players an incredible story as they make the long journey towards the finish line. Many even relish the turn-based focus as it allows players to think before each move, and yet still allow control over vast empires and globe-spanning endeavours.

The term was originally coined by guide writer Alan Emrich in the ancient past of 1993, but the concept of guiding a nation, space fleet, or strange fantasy species across generations through diplomacy, war, and technological progress has always proven to have endless appeal.

We've compiled a list of some essential 4X strategy games that you should consider adding to your game library. We're skewing more towards modern titles, as we don't think yet another list touting MOO2 as the grand 4X daddy does the gaming community any real service. While these games have helped shape the genre there are plenty of new entries that are trying to leave their own mark and we believe they deserve the attention more than the old legacies.

How to play League of Legends – a LoL beginner's guide

From the outside looking in, MOBAs are daunting and mighty confusing, and yet the way players go on about them makes them sound like a great deal of fun. You must be missing out on something. After all, we're talking about some of the most popular PC games ever. It's about time you climbed that fence: claw your way up the M of 'MOBA', skip across the O and the B, then slide down the slant of the A into unknown territory.

You finally made it - it's time to give a MOBA a go. Fancy a bit of League of Legends, perhaps? Well, you really don't want to end up like me, playing your first ever game of LoL on a professional stage, against experts in the game, and with absolutely no idea what to do at all. Trust me.

So, with help from my one-time coach from that horrible day, star caster Aaron "Medic" Chamberlain, here are five LoL tips you should follow as you head into your first terrifying game. Hopefully, you'll become a better player if you read closely and take heed of the following advice.

The best Call of Duty Vanguard MP40 loadout

Searching for the best MP40 loadout in Call of Duty Vanguard? The MP40 dominated the Vanguard beta back in September, and it's even better in the full game with all the attachments unlocked. Using the right combination of attachments, you can turn the MP40 into a weapon capable of killing an enemy in just two shots. The funny thing is that these shots have to hit limbs - if you land a shot anywhere else, you'll have to use three bullets instead.

Similarly to the best Kar98k loadout, the stock version of the MP40 is actually very good. It only takes four bullets to down an enemy, and the impressive rate of fire on this weapon results in a low time to kill speed. When compared to an assault rifle like the STG 44, the MP40 is lighter, features less recoil, and can empty an entire clip much faster than other Call of Duty Vanguard guns in the same category.

With ten attachments to improve this weapon, our loadout focuses on building the game-breaking two shot MP40. Here's everything you need to build the best MP40 loadout in Vanguard.

Warzone new map – Caldera release date

Want to know more about the new Warzone map? Sledgehammer Games' WWII themed release will integrate with Warzone in December 2021, introducing new weapons, vehicles, and a brand new WWII map set to replace '80s Verdansk. The new map is called Caldera, and it's going to launch with Vanguard and Warzone Season 1.

Black Ops Cold War fully integrated with the battle royale game at the beginning of Season 3 with the release of '80s Verdansk, five months after its November launch. There were a number of issues with the Cold War integration that took a while to fix: popular weapons were completely unbalanced for months, attachments didn't function like they were supposed to, and weapon balancing on Modern Warfare weapons completely stopped.

A recent Call of Duty blog post broke down everything coming to Warzone less than a month after Vanguard launches. There are plenty of in-game events on the run up to Warzone Pacific, so stay tuned for more information. Here's everything we know about the new Warzone map so far.

Genshin Impact Yun JinCover your eyes, lest your wallet screams in pain. miHoYo revealed two new Genshin Impact, Shenhe and Yun Jin, ahead of the release of Version 2.3. miHoYo often reveals upcoming characters before the newest version of the game launches, a term affectionately dubbed as "drip marketing" in the community. For those who aren't into the upcoming Arataki Itto and Gorou, here are two other characters you can save for now. Shenhe will be a Cryo polearm character. She's apparently close with Chongyun, coming from a branch family of exorcists. She is the Cloud Retainer's disciple, taken in for certain unrevealed reasons. Shenhe describes the Cloud Retainer as a "knowledgeable and chatter master." Early leaks indicate that Shenhe will likely be a five-star character, although miHoYo hasn't officially revealed details about her kit.   Meanwhile, Yun Jin is a Geo polearm character, joining Zhongli in the class of polearm wielder.      Mass Effect Legendary Edition lost in random xbox game passMass Effect Legendary Edition, the remastered collection of the original trilogy, might be making its way to Xbox Game Pass soon. Polish website XGP snapped a shot of the Legendary Edition brandishing the Game Pass logo. However, it might not be the only Electronic Arts property making its way to the service. Recently, XGP noticed that Lost in Random was also listed for Game Pass. Neither of these are on the service right now, but there's a chance it won't be that way for long. XGP spotted the games with the branding on the Polish version of the Xbox store. Sure enough, both Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Lost in Random still bear the Game Pass logo wedged into a corner. Naturally, you could chalk up as a mistake. Both Lost and the Mass Effect collection can be purchased through EA Play, which is part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Technically, they both can be played through the service. However, the logo suggests that they might make the jump to Game Pass proper soon. ...

His games focus heavily on lengthy cinematics and dialogue, and he recently gained a strong penchant for hiring celebrity actors for his leading roles. With this in mind, it's no surprise that before he entered game development, Kojima wanted to make films. That dream eluded him for a while, but now it looks like it will finally become a reality.
