Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 3:00 PM After what happened with Rune Factory 5, I figured it would be a year or two until we saw another admirable successor or new entry, but Harvestella is a shockingly strong competitor for the farming/action-rpg hybrid crown. The game isn't perfect, as some balancing issues and design decisions really stand out. But if you think of it more as an action-RPG with farming and life-sim elements, rather than a game trying to steal Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons's watering can, Harvestella can be a lot of fun. Like other farming sims, Harvestella begins with an amnesiac avatar. You find yourself wandering through a town, speaking with an ethereal woman with Rapunzel hair. After a cryptic exchange, you are awakened by Cres, the town of Lethe's doctor. You wandered outside during Quietus, the season of death that comes between every season. You're quickly offered a homestead on the outskirts of town. However, you aren't the only newcomer to the area. After a meteorite crashes, it opens to reveal a futuristic interior and person encased in armor. She awakes and reveals herself to be Aria, a displaced individual. As she goes to the nearby Seaslight for answers, you learn that all of the world's massive megaliths are behaving oddly. You head out after her, getting pulled into the world's mysteries, secrets, and salvation when you do. Review What You Know About Farming Sims for Harvestella, but Prepare for Surprises. From there, Harvestella plays out like a Rune Factory game. You have a farm, which you can tend for extra income. You can raise Cluffowls (chickens) and Woolums (goats) there too. Different cities litter the map, each with a Seaslight near them. These Seaslights act as dungeons. However, there are also some other spaces you'll go through while heading from point A to point B populated with enemies too. Should you head into town, you might find folks who could need your help via quests or cooking. Also, as you go through the story, you'll meet people to form relationships with and fight alongside. Honestly, I started to enjoy Harvestella more when I realized its "failings" were really due to my constantly comparing it to Rune Factory or Story of Seasons. For example, there is a lack of community here. Aside from the main allies or characters critical to the story, other villagers are nameless residents who might be tied to a side quest. If you come at it as someone who just played Pioneers of Olive Town, it's disappointing! Yes, characters might get a little attention, but not as much as a villager there. If you think of it more like a regular JRPG, then of course. Sure. These folks matter, but they aren't your "neighbors." Even with your allies, befriending is tied to side quests and story progress. So it isn't like, "All right, I'm immediately kicking off my Harvestella relationships and ready for romance." No. It takes things at its own pace, in its own way. This doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. The farming elements could really use some rebalancing. For example, a lot of crops grow abnormally fast. Also, I found that unless I was going with a plant that could be harvested multiple times, like a Cucumble or Nemean Tomato, it wasn't really worth my time to grow it as a cash crop. Other items I'd tend to grow either to make specific meals or use as fodder instead. Also, while the passage of time is better than in the demo, I would appreciate time passing at different rates depending on where you are. For example, maybe slow it down a bit in dungeons? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pst5Ny5tQBg&ab_channel=SquareEnix There are Power and Balancing Issues That Come Through in Combat. Speaking of the dungeons and combat, I was a bit surprised that there are balancing issues in Harvestella. The dungeon design itself is great. The areas look great. Different Seaslights feature different mechanics to make the area feel unique. They are a decent size, with fast travel points in fitting places to keep progressing over multiple days from being frustrating. I also loved the thought of different jobs. However, once you find one or two jobs you like and that handle multiple weaknesses, I didn't find much of a reason to explore other classes. The Mage job is one that especially suffers in Harvestella. Yes, there are certain enemies that are weak against magic, due to their armor. However the delay involved with regular attacks and special abilities kills any enthusiasm for the role. At that point, I'd rather take a more physical approach with a job like Shadow Walker or Mechanic. Will it take more time? Sure. But it'll be faster and less frustrating than one of the magical roles. I'd also say there are some balancing issues in terms of characters' power levels. When you level up, you're getting one or two points added to your stats each time. If you head to the Smithy to improve the weapons you and your allies wield, again it only offers a few points more strength with each investment. It really feels like it takes a lot of grinding and equipment investment to start seeing damage numbers go up. Especially since your experience is being doled out at the end of each day, rather than as you take down each foe. Not to mention you'll need to delve into certain dungeons multiple times to get necessary ore. (Fortunately, items for bombs and repair kits were plentiful everywhere.) Conversely, I didn't find any of the bosses too frustrating. Especially if I made sure to pack multiple meals. While the big bads are HP sponges, their attacks tend to be clearly telegraphed and fairly easy to dodge. Take Your Time to Appreciate the Scenery (and Localization)! But even if it isn't perfect, there are so many ways in which Harvestella defines itself. It's a gorgeous game, with beautiful landscapes. Sometimes I wondered if they had an artist create some incredible, supernatural designs, then took those and figured, "Okay, so how can we work around this to get it in here?" The localization is just as colorful, packed with personality. Aria especially is delightful, given the fact that she behaves differently than a typical JRPG heroine and is a rather practical woman. Side quests can be heartfelt sometimes, especially ones involving children. I was also shocked by how many character portrait variations there are for people you'll interact with regularly. (Both Aria and Asyl get some great expressions.) You can't go into Harvestella thinking, "So is Square Enix's Rune Factory/Story of Seasons game?" It isn't fair to the developers or the game itself. Yes, this is an action-RPG with farming and life-sim elements. But it's also very much trying to be its own thing. It needs time to grow. A think a few patches would help to act as stakes to help bolster the game would do a world of good. If Square Enix tends to it well, I could see a successful successor spawn. Harvestella is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC. The post Review: Harvestella Combines Farming and JRPGs in Its Own Way appeared first on Siliconera.

PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 1:49 PM Destiny 2's Telesto may have gained sentience. Recent tweets from the official Destiny Twitter account and an in-game message appear to indicate the weapon can now talk and communicate within the game world and associated Twitter account. The latest developments come after players noticed a new Telesto 'bug' had emerged in the popular FPS game, which, upon deeper analysis, showed Bungie had likely intentionally inserted into the game. PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 1:20 PM Looking for the best Batman games on PC? The Caped Crusader has been protecting Gotham's streets for many years now across a number of different media franchises. And naturally, the philanthropist-turned-superhero has also swooped his way over to the world of videogames from time to time. And thankfully, unlike many other superhero spin off titles, most of Batman's games on PC have actually been quite good. Whether fighting criminals through the dank halls of Arkham Asylum or taking a more light-hearted romp through Gotham as his LEGO counterpart, there's something for all fans of the Dark Knight, though most of them come in the form of action-adventure games. If you've not delved into Batman games on PC, or are looking for something new, then this list is here to help. We'll only be covering games where Batman, or Gotham, is the star — no Injustice or Multiversus here, as good as those are — or anything that isn't easily accessible anymore. With those caveats in mind, here are the best Batman games on PC in 2022. RELATED LINKS: Best Gotham Knights abilities, How long is Gotham Knights?, Gotham Knights mods |
PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 1:02 PM The Sims 2 fears are just one way that the life sim represents your character's many desires - specifically, their desires for things not to happen. The wants and fears system - often referred to as SWAF - gives your Sims up to three concurrent fears, such as being unlucky in love or not being able to pay their Sims rent. Much like wants, these will rotate out over time unless they're manually locked in by the player - but if they are fulfilled, your Sim will face a hefty penalty to their aspiration bar. |
PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 12:40 PM You can expect to rack up plenty of close-quarters eliminations with our best Warzone 2 PDSW 58 loadout. And it's one of the lighter transformations we've had to make, as the SMG's mag capacity, inherent stability, and devastating firing rate only already place it among the best Modern Warfare 2 guns around. Right out of the box you'll notice that the recoil on the PDSW 58 is very bad at distance because of damage dropoff and some incredibly high recoil. Therefore, we're going to address exactly those areas with our loadout. RELATED LINKS: Warzone 2 release date, Warzone 2 DMZ details, Warzone 2 map |
PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 12:34 PM Knowing the Apex Legends pick rates can tell you at a glance which legends are a must-play, and which have been put firmly in the ground by nerfs in the battle royale game. Pick rates are determined by the percentage of players who choose a legend in any of the competitive modes in Apex Legends. This information, combined with the average rank of player for each character, gives a clear picture of the current meta. The Apex Legends pick rates change dramatically with each patch as legends get their abilities buffed and nerfed in the FPS game. Wraith, for example, was notoriously overpowered in years gone by but took a nosedive in playtime when her abilities got decimated by a nerf. She has recently clawed her way back into the top five, with players finding a decent use case for her niche kit. PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 11:36 AM If you want the best Warzone 2 Vel 46 loadout then you'll want to focus your build on enhancing the SMG's already exceptional mobility and hip fire accuracy, while adding some bigger mags to keep you in gunfights for longer. Modern Warfare 2 blurs the lines between each weapon class with its platforms system, but there's no mistaking the Vel 46's role in the multiplayer game. By making the Vel 46 setup so lean we do have to battle against some major accuracy drawbacks, but as most of our gunfights should be taking place up close this shouldn't prove too costly when you're in the thick of battle. We've also included a couple of alternative attachments in case you don't get on with this build. RELATED LINKS: Warzone 2 release date, Warzone 2 DMZ details, Warzone 2 map |
PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 11:22 AM The Disney Dreamlight Valley Toy Story update was announced in September alongside the addition of the Lion King update and new Scar quests. While the wicked lion king has already moved into his home in the Elephant Graveyard, we're still awaiting the delivery of Andy's favourite toys. The original announcement and Dreamlight Valley roadmap claimed the Toy Story update would arrive in "late fall", which means it should be any day now. The Disney life sim already features lots of familiar faces, but we know there is room for "unlimited" expansions. The Dream Castle already houses around 30 unlocked doors, which will eventually lead to new realms. That said, you'd think these new updates would be coming thick and fast, with Scar added just six weeks after the original release date. So when is the Dreamlight Valley Toy Story release date, and just what will be added to the Disney game? RELATED LINKS: Best Disney games, Disney Dreamlight Valley guide, Best life sims |
PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 10:56 AM Want to know who the Sonic Frontiers characters and cast are, including the playable characters? Most of the time in the Sonic series, you see a whole bunch of pals he has made in the last 30 years of platform games in an effort to stop Dr. Eggman's evil schemes, but very occasionally, you only see a handful. Sonic Frontiers marks one of those times, as Sonic gets separated from Amy and Tails as they investigate the whereabouts of the Chaos Emeralds. The other constant in Sonic's 30-year history is that voice actor talent comes and goes without warning, and in the case of Sonic Frontiers, there's a somewhat surprising change to one mainstay character's voice. So check out the Sonic Frontiers characters and cast below to see which voice actors are returning to previous roles and who is brand new to the series. |

Unlocking parts of the Sonic Frontiers map for each open zone will reveal any challenges leading to that zone's Memory Token, Sonic Frontiers characters, new Cyberspace levels with gears, and either Hermit or Elder Kokos will be around for upgrades. It'll also show you where to find Chaos Emeralds, which shimmer when you have enough Vault Keys to get them open. |

That's where our best Warzone 2 Kastov 762 loadout comes in. Its overall performance is marred somewhat by its infamous kickback, so our loadout focuses on managing its recoil control and accuracy. We've also sourced attachments that provide additional range and bullet velocity. The result is a solid mid range AR weapon that's also capable of extending to long range when the situation requires. PCGamesN Wednesday, November 9, 2022 10:44 AM Want to know when the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 release date is? One thing we know for sure is roughly when the new season begins. However, with the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 5 release date being several weeks away, all we have right now are some speculative thoughts. Historically, the most significant hints come directly from Donald Mustard, Chief Creative Officer at Epic Games, as his tweets in the past hinted at Brie Larson's involvement in the latest season premiere and the Star Wars collab from last season. So far, he's not said anything of note, but here's what others are speculating about next season. Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 1:30 PM A Street Fighter 6 comic series on the way from Udon. The company announced it is working with Capcom on the new story. There aren't many details regarding it yet. For example, there is no concept art, lead characters, story details, or logos. However, it is in development and apparently coming "soon." Here's the official tweet announcing it. It noted that Game Informer will announce the exclusive details about it in its next issue. As for the game, Capcom recently offered additional details regarding how Street Fighter 6 will be played. There will be a Dynamic control scheme option. When selected, AI will help create moves when someone "button mashes" while playing. However, this mode will only be available in local modes and will not be able to be used in fights online. There's another comic based on the series on the way too. Udon announced a Street Fighter Origins: Sagat comic. That will launch in April 2023. There's no release window for Udon Entertainment and Capcom's Street Fighter 6: The Comic Book Series. The game is currently set to launch sometime in 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 1:00 PM After teasing an update last week, Bandai Namco announced that it will hold a network test Blue Protocol and share more details. An informational stream will be held on November 15, 2022. It will be watchable on YouTube and will give more details about the upcoming experience. Back in April 2020, a closed beta test was held for Blue Protocol. The beta allowed participants to try out the game's then-four classes: Aegis Fighter, Twin Striker, Blast Archer, and Spell Caster. Bandai Namco released a player feedback report shortly after its conclusion. A second test, this time a matchmaking stress test, was held in November 2020. The upcoming stream marks the first major development update for Blue Protocol since May 2021. A stream back then revealed Heavy Smasher as a fifth character class and introduced Joint Gestures. Just a few days after the stream, a teaser video for the game's opening was uploaded. The 30-second teaser showed short clips of animation and gameplay, all while the opening theme played over it. A network test for Blue Protocol will be held sometime in the future. More information about the test will appear on November 15, 2022. The game is in development for PCs in Japan, though it currently has no release window. The post Blue Protocol Network Test Details Coming Next Week appeared first on Siliconera. |

Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 12:00 PM Another new Pokemon Unite character is about to join the cast, as Sableye appeared. Following an obvious Twitter tease on November 8, 2022, the official account revealed it. It will join the roster on November 16, 2022. There's only teaser art for the Pokemon so far. Details about its moveset didn't come up yet. However, in the mainline games, Sableye is both a dark and ghost-type, which could influence its moveset here. It doesn't have any other evolutions. However, in other games it can Mega Evolve into Mega Sableye. Its always been known for using dark-type and ghost-type moves like Foul Play, Knock Off, Shadow Claw or Shadow Ball. This is the second dark-type character to be added to Pokemon Unite in a row. On October 27, 2022, Zoroark joined the roster. Though, technically, that also meant Zorua appeared, since it starts out as that before evolving during play. Prior to Zoroark, a new fairy-type showed up. Clefable, and by extension Clefairy, debuted on October 13, 2022. Its baby form, Cleffa, is not available in the game. Instead, every match begins with the character showing up as Clefairy. Pokemon Unite is available for the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, and Sableye will join as a playable character on November 16, 2022. Past additions in 2022 included Pokemon like Azumarill, Delphox, and Espeon. The post Sableye is the New Pokemon Unite Character appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 11:00 AM Bandai collectibles brand Tamashii Nations is celebrating the Tamashii Nation 2022 event. It announced that several Gundam anime productions will be streaming for free for a limited time. The selection includes the Universal Century film Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon, all three episodes of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, and all three episodes of Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer. They are available to watch on the GundamInfo YouTube channel. They'll stay that way for about two more weeks, until November 21, 2022. See them embedded below. Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3fGZrK-xKc Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon is a compilation film of the 13-episode OVA series Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. First released in 1991, Stardust Memory takes place four years after the end of the One Year War in the original Gundam timeline, the Universal Century. In it, the remnants of the defeated Zeonic forces identify a secret project in the works at mobile suit company Anaheim Electronics. It is a Gundam designed to deliver nuclear warheads. Led by a former ace, Zeon carries out Operation Stardust, stealing the Gundam. The Earth Federation carrier Albion and Kou Uraki, a test pilot drawn into the fighting, must stop Zeon's plans before they can visit catastrophe upon the Earth. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz (Episode 1 is below, the other two episodes are in the linked playlist.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIUFFuL3Fuk Endless Waltz is a three-episode follow-up to Gundam Wing. Earth and the colonies have stopped fighting, uniting in the Earth Sphere Unified Nation. But though the war is over, the fighting isn't. A rebellion on a newly completed colony rises up, led by the daughter of Treize Khushrenada. The rebellion captures Relena, now a government minister. The Gundam pilots, who sent their mobile suits on course to the sun, must retrieve their weapons and go to battle one last time. Endless Waltz is also notable for featuring significant redesigns to the main Gundam units. Though technically the same suits seen in the series, they all look quite different thanks to designer Hajime Katoki. For example, the Wing Gundam Zero features giant, detailed angelic wings, and so on. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 78: Stargazer (All three episodes are compiled in the video below.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm8Sy0fpyJs Gundam SEED Stargazer takes place during the events of Gundam SEED Destiny, following the "Break the World" Incident wherein rogue Coordinators drop pieces of the Junius Seven colony on Earth's surface, causing great damage. In the chaos, a unit of Phantom Pain, an Earth Alliance special forces outfit, get involved with the members of Project Stargazer, which is constructing a mobile suit intended for space exploration instead of war. The Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, Gundam 0083, and Gundam SEED Stargazer anime are streaming until November 21, 2022. Previous limited GundamInfo streams include Char's Counterattack and Gundam Unicorn. Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 9:00 AM You can't just immediately go to your local livestock vender in Harvestella to pick up the game's equivalent of chickens (Cluffowl) and goats (Woolum). You actually need to progress through the storyline a bit to unlock those two kinds of animals. Yes, you can buy eggs and milk before that from different vendors. But there's a bit of effort that goes into adding both to your farm. First, you'll need to play through the second chapter of Harvestella. This will send you to the first Seaslight dungeon in Higan Canyon. This one will be to the east. If you turn right and head in that direction, you'll be able to find one at the end of a path. Doing so will cause the Lethe Village Conellu Emporium to open. Initially, the Conellu Emporium won't sell any livestock in Harvestella. Instead, it will only offer Cluffowl Feed for 100 Grilla, Woolumn Feed for 100 Grilla, a 200 Grilla Feed Maker Recipe, and a 4,000 Grilla Totokaku mount. (The Totokaku is basically the Harvestella equivalent of a horse.) However, after you make some additional investments, you can start buying both kinds of critters. The Harvestella Renovator charges 5,000 Grilla for a Cluffowl Pen and 6,500 for a Woolum one, and you'll also need to have five pieces of Hard Stone and five pieces of Lumber for each. You can hold three of each kind of animal in a pen initially. Once you have a pen, the Conellu Emporium will begin selling the kind of animal that could use it. So if you build a Cluffowl pen, you can buy one of those bird-like babies for 500 Grilla. If you went with a Woolum one, you can buy a Woolum for 900 Grilla. Once you get livestock in Harvestella, you'll need to care for them like you would in any farming sim. You feed them to care for them, and petting them each day makes them like you more. Harvestella is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC. The post How to Get Cluffowl and Woolum Livestock in Harvestella appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 8:30 AM Dark Souls Remastered is back online, as Bandai Namco noted people can play with others due to service being restored. The security exploit that brought down multiple games in the entry is fixed. The issue in question had the potential to allow dangerous people the ability to remotely execute commands on others' computers while they played online. Here's Bandai Namco's official announcement: This means it took almost 11 months for Bandai Namco to restore this final game. People found the exploit in January 2022. Dark Souls 3 service wasn't restored until August 2022. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin followed in October 2022. However, the Dark Souls II DX9 version isn't back yet. While Bandai Namco noted that Dark Souls Remastered online play is back, the official Steam page does still note service isn't restored yet. This will likely change later on November 9, 2022. As a reminder, there is one Dark Souls game that won't be coming back online. While restoring services for different games, Bandai Namco confirmed one will remain offline. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition won't be back. The company cited "an aging system" as the reason for being unable to restore it. It pointed out that at this point, the game was about 10 years old as well. Dark Souls Remastered is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 8:00 AM It's the season for winter illumination attractions in Japan, and Gundam Factory Yokohama announced one. The site hosts the famed Moving Gundam, a full-sized animatronic model of the original RX-78-2 Mobile Suit. For 2022, the attraction will feature the latest Gundam franchise entry, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. It is calling the attraction the "GFY Winter Illumination 2022 feat. Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch From Mercury." It opens on November 24, 2022 and runs through early 2023. [Thanks, Comic Natalie!] The Moving Gundam winter illumination attraction will consist of a special show featuring lights and lasers and taking place at night. The main show will occur outside the Gundam Factory Yokohama facility at the Gundam-Dock attraction. The viewers standing near the dock or from the second floor of the Gundam Lab area of the facility can see the full-scale model set up in its vertical paddock. The show will be synced to the "Night Viewing" light show coordinated over the whole Yokohama coastal area, which encompasses many seaside spots. The Moving Gundam show itself will incorporate the opening theme from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. The song is "The Blessing" sung by YOASOBI. During the show, the Gundam model will take a kneeling pose that replicates the one from the Witch from Mercury poster. In the poster, the show's main Gundam, Aerial kneels behind protagonist Suletta Mercury while set against a background of stars. Here's a mockup illustration of the pose, with the poster art for comparison. Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 7:30 AM Street Fighter 6 will feature two control schemes. One is a traditional setup, and another is a "modern" control scheme that simplifies inputs into something not unlike the Smash Bros. games. There is, however, a third way to play. A new preview by Game Informer revealed the Street Fighter 6 Dynamic Controls designed to help "button mashers." Button mashers are players that tend to just press buttons randomly or repeatedly, rather than executing the complex inputs that fighting game moves typically demand. The Street Fighter 6 Dynamic Controls scheme simplifies inputs even further. It effectively turns on an AI-assisted "auto attack" mode mapped to the face buttons. In a demonstration, Director Takayuki Nakayama and Producer Shuhei Matsumoto explained their reasoning for implementing Dynamic Controls in the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkRXTVd51dE According to Nakayama, the team noticed that button-mashing in most fighting games just results in a lot of missed attacks. They wanted to try creating a system where players could see something useful happen when they pressed buttons. The Street Fighter 6 Dynamic Controls system uses the AI to execute attacks based on the context of the fight. Pressing a button with a character in close range might have them whip out a combo, but at further range, the same button might throw a projectile. In the demonstration, Matsumoto used only a single hand tapping face buttons on the controller to defeat Nakayama, who used the Classic controls. The Dynamic Controls, however, are specifically not for competitive use. Unlike the Modern scheme, which is intended as a viable and balanced alternative, Street Fighter 6 players can't use Dynamic Controls in online matches. They're exclusive to the local Arcade and Versus modes. In essence, they're the scheme designed to help players that don't play fighting games have fun with Street Fighter 6. Street Fighter 6 launches in 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The post Street Fighter 6 Dynamic Controls are for Local Play Only appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, November 9, 2022 7:00 AM A new Disgaea 7 trailer arrived, and it detailed the game's key features with the help of a Disgaea 7 Prinny. Called Pii-chan (or "P-chan"), the Prinny in question is secretary to Piririka, one of the main characters. The new trailer discussed the game's premise, as well as detailed key systems and teased a few new characters. Check it out below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqboPfcIO6M As mentioned in other updates about the game, the Disgaea 7 Prinny Pi-chan-led trailer introduced the Hinomoto Netherworld. This is a land closely resembling Japan and made up of various unique Netherworld dimensions. Hinomoto has been subjugated by the Demon Admiral Opener, who robbed the land of its "Bushido" under pain of death. Now a young man named Fuji, who hates Bushido, and Piririka, who admires Bushido, must team up to restore the land. The Disgaea 7 Prinny Pi-chan trailer reintroduced various Disgaea systems, including the game's penchant for big numbers and the super-sizing Dodeka Max system. The recruiting and development of generic characters and random item dungeons were also shown off. The ability to automate parts of the dungeon grind through AI-based auto-play configuration is also detailed, along with asynchronous, AI-driven PVP matches. The Prinny trailer introduced a number of new Disgaea 7 named characters too, who are detailed on the official website. Note that these name localizations are unofficial. Ao is an icy girl that sees Fuji as a parent, calling him "Father." She acts like Fuji's child, but is cold and merciless to all others besides. Weyas is a general of the Shogunate and a certified layabout. Rather than war, he'd rather party with young geisha all day and night. Though rather useless in battle, he does have enough talent to be selected as one of the "Seven Strikes" of the Tokugawa Tengen school. Cee-Fohr (or "C4") is a gunpowder enthusiast making waves in the Hinomoto Netherworld for her mastery of fire and explosions. Her mild personality changes considerably in the presence of such materials, though. She also seems to collecting the Makai Shinki tools for her research. Suisen has a mechanical body and is Bakufu's "Predictive Magistrate." He uses his computational abilities to predict the future, which gives him an edge in battle. Despite his seemingly robotic personality, he does occasionally revert to the more boyish mode his appearance would suggest. Higan Zesshousai earned her name by becoming Hinomoto's strongest swordsman. The problem is that she's so strong she can't actually use a sword properly (she's learning the spear, now). She can teach, though, and taught Fuji swordsmanship. Disgaea 7 launches on the PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch in Japan on January 26, 2023. International release plans have not yet been announced.
