Explore Moominvalley in a cozy adventure game coming in 2023

Tove Jansson's charming world of Moomintroll is getting a new game adaptation next year. Starring one of the Moomintroll series regular characters, Snufkin: Melody in Moominvalley is a charming and cozy adventure game in which our musical hero must restore the harmony of nature, which is under threat by an overly zealous park keeper.

Moominvalley is normally a place of untamed natural beauty, but a strict park keeper has shown up and decided to set up all kinds of hedges, fences, and rules. Using his harmonica, as well as a bit of stealth, Snufkin must explore the open world of Moominvalley and set things right.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is being developed by Norwegian indie studio Hyper Games, who says the game involves puzzle solving, musical segments, and stealth sequences. Of course, you'll also have plenty of friends to meet along the way - familiar faces if you've ever enjoyed the Moomintroll books, comics, or animated television series. Each has "their own charming stories to uncover and quests to solve, inspired by Tove Jansson's work," the studio says.

Ubisoft opens beta sign-ups for Skull and Bones

Ubisoft continues to insist that its pirate game Skull and Bones is still coming out. In a recent financial report, the publisher reiterated plans for the game to launch sometime before March 31, 2023, and after a few years without a notable appearance from the pirate adventure, it looks like the devs are ready to start soliciting player feedback with a series of beta tests.

"We are kicking off our Insider Program," Ubisoft says in a tweet, "a unique opportunity for a selected few to test early versions of Skull and Bones and share feedback." This is the first tweet from the official Skull and Bones account since 2020. There appears to be a new logo here, too, which adds the 'Ubisoft Original' branding the publisher has been so keen on lately.

This Insider Program will offer selected players a chance to play an "early version" of Skull and Bones. "Our main objective is to get real data and feedback," the devs say in the announcement. "We want to see what our players do when they're free to play our game whenever they want, however they want."

The Elden Ring speedrun record drops under one hour

Elden Ring is a massive game, but speedrunners are determined to make it look small. Runner niko bellic beat Elden Ring in just over two hours barely a week after launch, and now we've got an even more impressive run: a fresh world record under an hour. (It took me longer than that just to beat Margit.)

LilAggy is a pretty notable figure in the Souls speedrun community, with some of the top records in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In a stream today (via The Loadout), LilAggy became the first runner to complete Elden Ring in under an hour. More precisely, the final run clocked in at 59 minutes and 38 seconds, measured by in-game time - so no loading screens or the like counted.

"Obviously far from perfect," LilAggy says in his run's YouTube description, "but not too bad for a 12 day old game". Leaderboards on Speedrun.com and the SpeedSouls wiki won't be opening for a while yet - if this run is 'far from perfect', who knows what the times will look like once they start getting officially recorded.

Here's what it's like to play the evil dead in Evil Dead

It's just two months until the release of Evil Dead: The Game and the latest trailer for the upcoming horror game showcases what it's like to actually play the titular Evil Dead. Much like in Dead By Daylight, players can control a killer - except here, the Deadites can mess with other players' heads.

While there are single-player elements in Evil Dead: The Game, it's primarily an asymmetrical multiplayer game in the style of Dead By Daylight or Friday The 13th - with four players controlling human characters and another commanding the Evil Dead themselves, or the "Kandarian demons" as developer Boss Team Games calls them.

Previous videos have kept the focus on the human characters, but now the team is finally showing off the villain side. The trailer shows off three major groups of Deadites. "Warlord" is the classic undead side, led by the fat, floating zombie Henrietta. "Necromancer" is based on the third movie Army of Darkness, and is led by the decomposing Bad Ash. "Puppeteer" consists of demons from the more recent Ash vs Evil Dead series.

League of Legends patch 12.6 notes – Anima Squad skins, Zeri and Rengar changes

The League of Legends updates are coming thick and fast. LoL patch 12.5 has hit the live server, introducing a wonderful selection of bee-inspired skins to the MOBA. Don't bee-lieve for one second, though, that's all we got. Riot has tweaked Master Yi and Seraphine with some solid changes, while several other LoL champs got some quality-of-life adjustments, too.

Now, though, it's time to look toward LoL patch 12.6. We're sticking with the animal theme this time around as the new Anima Squad skins have hit the PBE. If you've been out of the loop, a few champions - such as Vayne, Miss Fortune, and Jinx - are getting some punky skins themed around bats, bunnies, cats, and more. You can check out the in-game clips of these in action and their splash art in the skins section below.

We're still quite early into the patch cycle, but we're starting to see some champion changes. Keep checking in, though, as we'll keep this post regularly updated.

Destiny 2: Witch Queen review – Bungie's best expansion yet

I once believed Destiny was incapable of having a campaign that could compare with those of Titanfall 2 or Doom Eternal. It's a service game,  an always-online multiplayer game, and a looter shooter - its activities need to be replayable, it needs to scale for cooperative play, and its loop is loot based, not story based.

This explained the mediocrity of Destiny's previous campaigns, I reasoned, and why no future ones could ever match those of purebred single-player shooters. The Witch Queen (you can buy the DLC here, coincidentally) doesn't disprove that - Titanfall 2 and Doom Eternal remain unsurpassed - but Bungie has closed the gap more than I believed possible.

It's hard to pinpoint the cause because so much is similar on the surface, but in certain moments I can feel it. Halfway through the campaign, I find myself in a luscious valley. A mossy cliff unfurls around the shoulder of a mountain to my right, a craggy black temple looming in the distance. Clouds of dark ether condense into hordes of censer-swinging Ravagers, who charge me as Raiders snipe from distant bridges.

Dying Light 2's new patch makes nights even deadlier

Update 1.2.0 has arrived for Dying Light 2, and it includes a laundry list of welcome fixes and additions to the new zombie game. In addition to addressing the stubborn 'deathloop' bug that's been plaguing players like an infected bite, the patch also makes tweaks to the balance of nighttime play, to the final boss fight, and to the game's accessibility settings.

First up, that nasty deathloop bug that shunted players into a never-ending cycle of respawning and dying outside a critical mission area has finally been fixed, developer Techland says. That'll come as a relief to players who have found their progression blocked by this issue.

The patch also makes some important adjustments to the way things work at night in Villedor. Howlers, the creepy guys who set off chases when they spot you, have had their detection range increased, and they're now more resistant to ranged weapons - so it'll be tougher to take them out from above to clear a safe path through the streets.

Get 67% off NordVPN for two years, plus a free gift

For most of us, online privacy is a huge concern - after all, who wants to do the digital equivalent of taking a shower in a glass house in the middle of the day? If you're concerned about protecting your data, and want to improve your online security, you can now get two years of NordVPN for 66% off.

We're sure that you've heard of NordVPN before, but for those who haven't they're one of the most well-known VPN providers on the market. Not only are they renowned for their speedy VPN service, but they also give users access to 'split-tunnelling' which means that you can have your VPN active and running on one window, and inactive in another. This is especially handy for anyone who might be looking to access regional-exclusive content, without having all their devices connected via a foreign server.

Speaking of, NordVPN gives subscribers the opportunity to access the internet via one of 5,308 servers located in 60 different countries around the world. Problem with one of the servers? Good thing there are loads of others to choose from. They even have a kill-switch in place, so even in the rare instant that the VPN goes down (even for one second), there's absolutely no risk of your data falling into the hands of shady strangers.

Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti – release date, price, specs, and benchmarks

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 is a GPU juggernaut, but it may soon be usurped as the best graphics card on the market by an even more powerful RTX 3090 Ti. While the new card will likely be the last hurrah of team green's Ampere lineup, it should send off the series with a bang before it's succeeded by the company's RTX 4000 GPUs.

Admittedly, it's hard to get excited for new GPUs amid ongoing graphics card shortages. Both the recently released RTX 2060 12GB and RTX 3080 12GB suffered from extremely limited availability at launch, and it's still hard to find one, let alone at MSRP.

While Nvidia's RTX 3000 GPUs are undeniably coveted, you don't have to wait around for hardware stocks to replenish to experience RTX gaming. In fact, the best gaming laptops are much easier to get a hold of than dedicated desktop cards, and they come with RTX exclusive features like Nvidia DLSS and DLDSR downsampling. Nevertheless, if you're still hellbent on upgrading to an RTX 3090 Ti, we've compiled information on the graphics card's price, release date, specs, and possible benchmarks.

Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event challenges and rewards

Looking for information on the Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event? A brand new Halo Infinite event has begun, and brings with it a series of ten new cosmetic items, including a new take on the classic Mark V helmet for you to unlock for the basic Mark VII armour suit.

In order to unlock all these free cosmetics, you need to level up your event pass by completing a series of Tactical Ops challenges. As you'd expect based on the name, the Tactical Ops playlist is based on the Halo Infinite Tactical Slayer mode, otherwise known as SWAT. It's a hardcore mode that removes the use of radar, shields, and grenades. In addition, the original Tactical Slayer mode restricts you to using Battle Rifles, but the Tactical Ops event playlist includes variations on this; Mangler and Sidekick versions are available in the first week, and Stalker Rifles and Commando variants arrive in the second half of the event.

The Halo Infinite Tactical Ops event runs from March 8 to March 21 - to help you get the most out of it, we've put together this event guide containing everything you need to know about Tactical Ops challenges, rewards, and game modes.

The best Elden Ring armor sets

Are you searching for the best armor sets in Elden Ring? In this RPG game, upgrading your armaments using Elden Ring smithing stones and Ashes of War is just as important as leveling up your character. Elden Ring armor, however, tends to be overlooked by comparison - many players spend several hours wearing the same equipment. Unlike in real life, however, not changing your clothes for days at a time is somewhat understandable in Elden Ring, as impressive gear is difficult to come by - particularly in comparison to other methods of upgrading your build, like Elden Ring talismans.

The best Elden Ring armour is far from useless, however. There are some armour sets out there which come with powerful abilities, though their usefulness largely depends on what type of character you're building towards. If you've got a fashion-conscious Tarnished, Elden Ring makes it difficult to find armour that is both protective and stylish, but it certainly can be done if you know where to look.

There are three ways to earn armour sets in Elden Ring: repeatedly kill the same enemies until they drop their entire set, kill a specific enemy to earn all of their items, or find the equipment in a hidden chest. Here's everything you need to know about the best Elden Ring armour sets, including where to find them and what bonuses they provide.

Nvidia RTX 4000 GPUs – release date, price, specs, and benchmarks

It may be hard to believe, but it's been over a year since the launch of Nvidia's RTX 3000 GPUs, but the best graphics cards wait for no one, and it looks like RTX 4000 products will be with us sooner rather than later. We've put together all the latest news, leaks, and rumours you need to get acquainted with 'Lovelace', with information on its release date, price, specs, and benchmarks.

As much as the raw performance of team green's RTX GPUs make them attractive to anyone looking to upgrade their gaming PC, it's features like Nvidia Reflex and Nvidia DLSS that elevate the graphics cards above their Intel Arc Alchemist and AMD RDNA 3 competition. RTX 4000 cards will likely come armed with the same technologies, if not even more.

However, Nvidia isn't content with simply cornering the desktop GPU market and has its sights set on the cloud too. The company's Nvidia GeForce Now service currently provides up to RTX 3080 levels of performance to all manner of devices, such as low-spec PCs and smartphones (and not-so-smart-phones), via cloud streaming. Team green will undoubtedly update GeForce Now with RTX 4000 graphics cards at some point after their release to the public.

How to use Grave and Ghost Elden Ring Glovewort to upgrade summons

If you want to upgrade your summons in Elden Ring, you're going to need either Grave Glovewort or Ghost Glovewort to do so. The latter is used to upgrade elite summons, but for early game spirits, you can use Grave Glovewort. So, where can you find these elusive plants?

Grave Glovewort has a long green stem with silvery white petals. Ghost Glovewort is similar in appearance, but instead it has an ethereal glow and spectral leaves that make it slightly easier to spot. Both plants can be found throughout the Lands Between, usually tucked away in Elden Ring dungeons, or acquired from enemy and Elden Ring boss drops. You can also buy Glovewort from merchants, and sometimes obtain them through Elden Ring quests for the various NPCs.

If you are struggling to find these upgrade materials, you can always refer to the interactive map to see known locations and areas. Both plants boost your Elden Ring summons' stats, increasing attack, defence, HP, or the size of the summon party. Here's how to unlock spirit summons upgrades in Elden Ring and complete Roderika's questline.

Chrono Trigger on PC gets faster battles and 21:9 support

There's a new Chrono Trigger update on the way this week, that's adding some welcome improvements to one of the best JRPGs on PC. As revealed by Square Enix Japan in a new trailer, as opposed to a press release, the next Chrono Trigger patch features a number of welcome improvements to the PC version of the game.

Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs ever made and it finally made its appearance on Steam over four years ago, where it was very apparent that it was a port of the mobile game - and not a great one. After several months, Chrono Trigger's supposedly "final" patch arrived in August 2018, complete with customisable key bindings.

Now, after all this time, Square Enix has announced a new update for the PC and smartphone versions of Chrono Trigger. The patch is hitting this Friday, March 11, featuring useful quality-of-life changes such as improvements to auto-battle speed, proper full-screen support for up to 21:9, and upping the number of save slots to 20 - given the many different paths a Chrono Trigger playthrough can take, that's a good thing.

Genshin Impact tier list: the best characters in the 2.5 update

There are currently 49 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapon, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellations upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging.

In truth, it is difficult to find a truly bad Genshin Impact character. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds.

In general, being on the highest tiers mean that the character is the best in their role, is not too difficult to build, and performs well regardless of teammates. Being on a lower tier means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine.  Just to note, the characters are not ranked within their own tier, and with that out of the way, let's take a look at our ranking of characters in our Genshin Impact tier list!

Lost Ark new classes – all unreleased and upcoming Lost Ark classes

So you want to know about the Lost Ark new classes? Even though the hit new MMORPG has just been released in the West, it's been out in Korea for a couple of years now. That means the Korean version of the game has more content than the version we have currently, and this includes classes.

There are several Lost Ark classes that currently exist in the Korean version that have yet to make the jump over to the western version. These are mainly subclasses, but there's an additional class with subclasses that was never put into Lost Ark for its western launch. We also know of a brand new class (of sorts) that's coming to both versions - a female version of the berserker.

We've put together this guide that summarises everything you need to know about new Lost Ark classes. As time goes on and the rest of the Korean game content makes it way into the western version of the game, we'll update this guide with any new classes, subclasses, or class gender options as they get announced.

AMD Ryzen Zen 4 CPUs – release date, price, specs, and benchmarks

2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year in the battle between AMD and Intel for the title of best gaming CPU, with both companies releasing new processors towards the end of the year. While Ryzen 5000 Zen 3 chips continue to perform well in gaming PCs and for AMD, everyone is waiting to see how the company's next generation Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 CPUs will compete with Intel's upcoming Raptor Lake processors.

When Zen 4 releases in H2 2022, we will finally see support for PCIe Gen5 and DDR5 gaming RAM on AMD's Ryzen CPUs. This will bring the company's processor offerings in line with Intel, which has supported both technologies since Alder Lake's release in 2021.

However, a combination of 3D V-Cache and a 5nm manufacturing process could see team red's chips outclass those from team blue by a significant margin. This would makie Ryzen Zen 4 CPUs the ideal partner to the best graphics cards such as the company's upcoming RDNA 3 components or Nvidia's RTX 4000 GPU lineup.

Half the point of the Steam Deck is that it's portable, but the other half is that it's a PC. With the right tools, then, you can plug into a monitor, add a mouse and keyboard, and get playing as if it were a (somewhat) conventional gaming rig. But how well does the Steam Deck work as a desktop PC, really? Valve's use of the Linux-based SteamOS alone makes it less of a 1:1 equivalent to a Windows system, and its AMD APU was designed to handle the onboard display's 1280x800 resolution – not 1080p and above.

the diofield chronicle square enix

The DioField Chronicle, a new tactical RPG from Square Enix, made its debut as part of Sony's March 9, 2022 State of Play presentation. It's slated for release sometime in 2022. In addition to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, the game will launch on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Using what it calls a "Real-Time Tactical Battle" system, The DioField Chronicle uses a free movement system and RTS-style point-and-click controls to position and fight. Special attacks use portrait cut-ins, like we've previously seen in games such as Fire Emblem.

The world of The DioField Chronicle is comprised of three nations. The Trovelt-Schoevian Empire and Rowetale Alliance are at war. The nearby Kingdom of Alletain, initially isolationist, is thrust into the conflict.

A post on the official Square Enix site details more about the game. Lancarse, a studio that's worked on games like Monark and Persona Q2, is co-developing the title with Square Enix. The team has experience in the tactical space, working on 2014's Lost Dimension.

The game's characters were designed by Taiki, with concept art from Isamu Kamikokuryo. Fire Emblem veteran Yuu Ohshima is credited with scenario design.

You can check out the full DioField Chronicle debut trailer below. Included is a summary of the game's setting and story, as well as a look at the strategy gameplay.

The March 9, 2022 State of Play presentation also included the reveal of Valkyrie Elysium, as well as Exoprimal and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R.

The DioField Chronicle, developed by Square Enix and Lancarse and published by Square Enix, will launch later in 2022. It'll appear on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Switch and PC.

Forspoken Release Date

Sony's March 2022 State of Play broadcast brought audiences a new look at Forspoken gameplay. The title was recently delayed to an October 11, 2022 release date. The delay, which was announced previously by developer Luminous Productions. This pushed the game back from a previous May 24, 2022 date.

Check out the new "Worlds Collide" trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8f8QZTOrfk

The Forspoken gameplay trailer shows off protagonist Frey unleashing flashy magical attacks and traversing a large open-world environment. Her powers enable her to do things like surf across the surface of a lake riding an icy board and set the environment ablaze with a lava eruption. Another attack appears to convert the surrounding area into conductive glass via a lightning bolt.

The game's story follows Frey Holland as she's torn from her life in modern-day New York city and deposited in Athia, a world of magic and danger. (Forspoken was originally known as "Project Athia", and content from what would become the game appeared in tech demos for the PS5 hardware.) There she's asked to confront enemies The trailer also promoted pre-order bonuses for PS5 customers. The items are all PlayStation-themed cosmetic accoutrement,  including the "No Limits" cloak decorated with PlayStation button iconography, a "Symbol Combo" necklace, and "Trigger Happy" necklace. A crafting starter kit is also included in the bonus.

Forspoken will arrive on PS5 and PC. The release date adjustment to October 11, 2022 also affects the timeline for planned DLC pack "In Tanta We Trust", but a new date for the pack was not yet announced.

New Valkyrie Profile Game is Valkyrie Elysium

During the March 2022 State of Play, Square Enix revealed the new Valkyrie Profile game. Valkyrie Elysium will come to the PS4 and PS5 in 2022. A new trailer introduced a new Valkyrie, as well as showed some of the fights she'll encounter. Notably, this installment is an action-RPG.

The Valkyrie Elysium trailer began with a look at different areas in the world. We then see a Valkyrie with blond hair as she recruits an Einherjar. Her hair is blond, just like Silmeria's from Valkyrie Profile 2. From there, we see her and her Einherjar from the introduction as they both fight monsters. While past games have involved turn-based combat, this installment is an action-RPG and seems to allow people to control the Valkyrie and her chosen warriors. At the end of the trailer, she encounters a Valkyrie with black hair. (This could be Hrist.)

Prior to this new Valkyrie Profile game, there were four in the series. The two mainline entries are Valkyrie Profile and Valkyrie Profile 2:Silmeria. They were followed by the tactical spin-off Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume and the mobile game Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin. (The mobile game was shut down in 2020.) Those tended to follow the adventures of the Valkyrie Lenneth and her sisters Silmeria and Hrist.

PS4 and PS5 Games and Systems No Longer Being Sold in Russia

Sony is the latest company to take action regarding sales due to the war in Ukraine. It announced that it will no longer sell its PS4 or PS5 consoles or their games in Russia. This will apply to both digital and physical sales, as it will no longer offer PlayStation Store access. The company announced it will also make donations to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Save the Children. [Thanks, CNBC!]

With regards to PS4 and PS5 console and games' sales in Russia, it noted that all old and new titles will no longer be available. In statements issued to multiple outlets, Sony noted this will include Gran Turismo 7, its most recent first-party title.

As for its charitable donation, Sony said its donation will amount to $2 million. It didn't specify a split, only noting UNHCR and Save the Children will get the money. The former is designed to help refugees with aid and essentials. The latter specifically helps children in Ukraine.

Sony is the latest company to block sales of its products in Russia as a result of the Ukraine invasion. Microsoft is no longer offering products. The Nintendo Switch eShop no longer works in Russia. Both Epic Games and CD Projekt Red are blocking game sales via their PC storefronts.

Noel the Mortal Fate

Seems these days I find myself drawn to games in which trusted adults ultimately screw over aspiring young adults hoping to make a mark on the world. First with Monark and now again in Noel the Mortal Fate. The Nintendo Switch version of Noel the Mortal Fate collects the first seven seasons of Noel and Caron's story into a nice, neat package and spruces it up for the console.

Noel's dream of becoming the town's ceremonial concert pianist is shattered when the title goes to her best friend. Instead of being happy for her, Noel wholeheartedly believes that there was a conspiracy to keep her from that glory. Surely Mayor Burrows, the youngest mayor in Lhaplus' history, only wants what is best for the city. Which is why Noel trusts him enough to humor a clandestine meeting in the middle of the night in a seedy part of town. Blinded by her desire to be the very best, Noel's life is about to be forever changed, and there is no going back.

Noel the Mortal Fate Switch playtest Burrows

Burrows tells Noel that a new company making inroads in Lhaplus is responsible for her losing by a single vote. If not for its CEO, Noel would be the ceremonial pianist and not her best friend Jillian. So he urges her to do something illegal. Make a deal with the devil, kill the CEO, and the pianist position will be hers. She knows it is considered a crime to make deals such as these. But the desire to be the best drives her to do the unthinkable. Summoning the devil Caron, Noel makes the bargain while unaware of the cost. When Caron realizes Noel is yet another innocent bystander roped into making contracts that strengthen Burrows' position, an unlikely duo is formed for the sole act of seeking vengeance.

Noel the Mortal Fate is very story-heavy. Featuring newer translations, Noel and Caron's journey to topple Burrows' empire is a rather engaging one. There's such an interesting cast of characters crisscrossing their path. Friends become enemies, and enemies become unlikely partners. Some have secret pasts to discover. It's all very well written. It's no wonder that the game a large following that resulted in a novelization and a drama CD. The worst part of playing it was waiting for my Switch to charge so I could get back to it.

Noel the Mortal Fate Switch playtest map

Noel the Mortal Fate notes that this version is enhanced with updated graphics and a cleaner user interface for Switch players. From time to time, I have caught a glimpse of slow loading, generally during moments of discussion in which the text box stutters for a brief second. The menus are simple and intuitive, and the UI isn't as intrusive on the smaller screen with the new font sizes. There are some particularly dark sections of the game where it is extremely difficult to see where you are heading. Nothing a brightness setting couldn't help. All in all, it looks crisp and clear on the Switch

When you aren't reading lots of dialogue, odds are you're sneaking into buildings on your way to boss battles. Exploring Lhaplus' nooks and crannies with the left analog stick might not be the way to go; I've noticed that using it makes the character movement feel too loose. I could control Noel and Caron better with the D-pad. And there are plenty of times when you do not want loose controls, like when you have limited steps to find cover or are trying to land back attacks during a boss battle. I will say that the addition of rumble is a welcome one. It's satisfying to have that feedback when I land a hit or am running through explosions during an escape.

Noel the Mortal Fate Switch QTE

The Switch version adds a few new features to Noel the Mortal Fate. There's a new theme and accompanying opening video, which is rather gorgeous, and the aforementioned controller rumble. But there is one very important upgrade available for Switch players that I think is the real draw. A brand new season Season 3.5 set between the events of Seasons 3 and 4 offers up a nice bit of respite for our anti-heroes. My only problem with this addition is that it isn't accessible until you finish Season 7, and thus ruined the continuity flow for me. If I could ask for one thing, it would be an update/patch that shifts it into chronological order.

Should you choose to spend precious gaming hours with Noel the Mortal Fate do so knowing that this game is a real investment, of time and occasionally patience. If narrative-heavy games aren't your style, Noel and Caron's journey isn't for you. If they are, strap in and keep a charge cable nearby.

Latest Tales of Luminaria Bug Affects Google Pixel Devices

People on Google Pixel devices are in the midst of dealing with a major Tales of Luminaria bug. People with certain phones can no longer launch the game. Bandai Namco is aware of the issue, but says "it will take some time to fix."

Simply put, this Tales of Luminaria bug keeps people from playing the game on certain Google Pixel Android phones. Something happened with the update that is keeping it from launching. There's no release window for a fix yet.

Here's a list of the seven affected devices.

  • Google Pixel 3a
  • Google Pixel 4
  • Google Pixel 4a
  • Google Pixel 5
  • Google Pixel 5a
  • Google Pixel 6
  • Google Pixel 6 Pro

Updates and fixes arrive rather regularly for Tales of Luminaria. For example, some of the recent ones and upcoming announcements involved new elements or requested features. Like Japanese voice acting will show up in the English version of the game.

This bug came up right as another chapter in a character's story arrived in Tales of Luminaria. Alexandra von Sonne's "A Pardon for Justice" just appeared. It is the character's second episode.

Tales of Luminaria is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. The anime adaptation is available to watch via Crunchyroll and Funimation.

The full Evo 2022 lineup is here, and quite a few new games will show up this year. Most notably, Guilty Gear Strive, KOF XV, and Melty Blood: Type Lumina are all part of the roster. This means a third of the featured titles will be newly released ones.

Here's the full Evo 2022 lineup of nine games. A number of returning titles will appear, like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Mortal Kombat 11, Street Fighter V and Tekken 7. However, this year there is no BlazBlue or Injustice 2. The PS4 versions of all games will be used, and people are asked to bring their own controllers.

  • Dragon Ball FighterZ
  • Granblue Fantasy Versus
  • Guilty Gear Strive
  • KOF XV
  • Melty Blood: Type Lumina
  • Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate
  • Skullgirls: 2nd Encore
  • Street Fighter V: Champion Edition
  • Tekken 7

There is one game that we knew wouldn't be a part of the Evo 2022 lineup ahead of the announcement. Organizers announced there wouldn't be a Super Smash Bros. game at the event. Nintendo did announce it would hold Super Smash Bros Melee and Ultimate tournaments with Panda Global, however.

Evo 2022 will be hold in-person between August 5-7, 2022. It will return to the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas. Registration is open.

Intern Pikachu Plush Returns in Europe

Intern Pikachu is returning to work, as the plush toy is available again in Europe. The European Pokemon Center is carrying the stuffed animal again. The character, which originally appeared as Salaryman Pikachu for the Pikachu Celebrations line in Japan, costs £15.99. It will ship immediately after purchase.

Originally, the Intern Pikachu plush debuted in Japan back in April 2015. There, it was known as the "Fresher" version of the character. This means he was designed to look like a newly hired employee at a company. To go with that theme, he wears glasses, carries a briefcase, and wears a suit and tie. The stuffed animal is also occasionally referred to as "Salaryman" Pikachu. He stands at just over seven inches tall.

In September 2015, the stuffed animal appeared in the Pokemon Center in North America. Overseas, that line went by the Pikachu Celebrations moniker. That's when the retailer started referring to the character as an intern.

Here's a closer look at the plush from different angles.

The Intern Pikachu plush is available to order in the Pokemon Center in Europe while supplies last. It is still listed as being out of stock in the North American branch of the store.

Chrono Cross Remaster Clips Show Serge's Techs

The latest video clips from the Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreams Edition remaster offer an idea of how techs will look in-game. Specifically, the first two focus on how Serge's attacks will look. Each of the segments look at abilities he'll learn fairly early in the game.

First Square Enix showed off how Serge's Dash & Slash will look in the game. As a reminder, this is one of the very first ones he'll be able to learn. To get it, you first need to get three boss stars. (These are earned by defeating bosses in the game.)

After that, the second one of the Chrono Cross remaster techs showed Luminaire. This one Serge learns after getting 15 stars. It is a returning skill that Crono also used in Chrono Trigger.

Past updates looked at specific changes available in this version of the game. You can see different font options, character models, and visual modes.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreams Edition will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 7, 2022. It also includes Radical Dreamers: Le Tresor Interdit.

Koei Tecmo Holdings announced that it donated $500,000 to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees charity to support humanitarian aid activities in Ukraine and its surrounding regions. In the same press release, it also revealed plans to collect more donations from its staff members and the public.

The company will use all of the gathered funds solely for charity purposes. It will announce more details about the donation drive at a later time.

Koei Tecmo was formed in 2009 from a merger between Koei—best known for Dynasty Warriors—and Tecmo, the company behind Ninja GaidenDead or Alive, and Fatal Frame. The group also acquired Gust, the studio known for creating the Atelier series.

The company group joins other Japanese companies and influential game creators in donating for humanitarian aid in Ukraine. The Pokemon Company and Yoko Taro had earlier announced similar donations and initiatives for the same cause.

Koei Tecmo's latest title to date is Gust's Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream. The RPG is available worldwide on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The company's future releases include the Western localization of Touken Ranbu Warriors on May 24, 2022, and the global release of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes on June 24, 2022.      Dying Light 2 Patch Deathloops Directx 12 StabilityWhen Dying Light 2 Become Human launched, it became apparent that it was a bit infested. And I don't mean the actual horde of Infected wandering the game's sprawling streets. No, I'm talking about the bugs. The game was hampered by bugs and stability issues, to the point where it greatly affected the enjoyment players were attempting to get out of the open-world game. Thankfully, developer Techland was quick on getting the bugs cleared out, squashing more than 1,000 early on. Now, Dying Light 2 has received another patch, bringing more fixes to things like the "deathloops" while adding improvements for DirectX 12. The patch probably doesn't bring 1,000 fixes, but it should be welcome for current Dying Light 2 players. Patch 1.2 addresses issues with story progression, co-op, ragdoll behaviors, the UI, game balance, and more. Technical improvements have also been made, and the developer did offer some highlights. However, issues like localization tasks and voice acting prompted the developers to delay the game less than a month before its release to improve some of the weak spots. After more testing, this should give players "the best and smoothest launch experience possible."   Knights of the Round Table In regards to the delay, the developers posted the following message...

The rise of COVID-19, as well as the sexual misconduct allegations levied against the event's co-founder. led to the cancellation of the 2020 tournament. Then, the persistence of the pandemic resulted in Evo 2021 becoming an online-only event. With the pandemic seeming like it will finally wind down, the organizers of Evo 2022 have decided to bring the tournament back in full force, with an in-person event planned to take place in Las Vegas like before. And now, the organizers have unveiled the lineup of games that players can expect to see in Evo 2022. According to a press release, Evo 2022 will feature a lineup of nine games, with many of them having shown up regularly at the tournament before. Heavy hitters such as Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, and Dragon Ball FighterZ all make their return, in addition to other noteworthy games lik...

Elden Ring Speedrunners Under One HourElden Ring launched almost two weeks ago, and most people are still finding new things to do. It is an extremely expansive game that can easily take over 40 hours just to finish the story alone. However, the speedrunning community doesn't have that kind of time. The impatience of speedrunners has led to the incredible feat of beating Elden Ring in under an hour. This run was posted by LilAggy, a prolific speedrunner in the Souls community. It was an Any% run, which basically means that anything goes. Regardless of how game breaking a bug or exploit is, you can use it to finish the game faster. And it's these game-breaking glitches that have led to this run.   More specifically, it's the presence of a sequence break in Elden Ring that speedrunners are taking advantage of. By performing certain actions, you are able to skip ahead and avoid the mass majority of otherwise necessary content. Combine that with the incredible mechanical skill on display, and you end ...

Gotham Knights Release Date October 2022Gotham Knights at last has a release date. The game that was featured in my most anticipated games of next year list (twice!) will be available on October 25. It feels appropriate to come out just before Halloween, considering the theme of the game. Actually, it might be more appropriate if the game adapted The Long Halloween, but Batman fans can't be beggars. If you didn't catch the hint, Gotham Knights was originally scheduled for a release date in 2021. The co-op action game featuring the famous Bat-kids was revealed nearly two years ago, exciting many of us who loved the hell out of Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series. However, the developer isn't involved in this latest Bat-scepade. That honor goes to Warner Bros. Montreal, which is approaching the Gothic city at a different angle.   Gotham Knights appears more action-packed, allowing for two-player co-op. You play as one of the four Batman wards: Red Hood, Nightwing, Batgirl, or Robin. It features d...

CT-side can smoke too, you know? On any map in CSGO, CT-side almost always has the advantage in positioning against T-side. This is the case because, upon site entry, T-players need to check multiple angles while CT players pretty much already know where the enemies are coming from. To make the weight of the ticking […]
