The trend for 4X games is often to become bigger. They'll try to encompass the entirety of human history, taking us from stick-wielding tribespeople to star-faring superpowers. Some games take the opposite view, deepening the experience rather than broadening it. Old World is one such game, taking aim at a particular time period with more focused and in-depth options available to you.

Some games become famous for their ambition, for their gameplay, for offering a different perspective. Some games become famous for a lack of all of the above. Other games, however, become famous for things that have nothing to do with the quality of the game.      Diablo 4 Season 4 release date

When does Diablo 4 Season 4 start? A much-loved feature from Diablo 3 makes its return in D4 with the (re)introduction of seasons, adding everything from new questlines to items, gameplay mechanics, and more. Expanding on the rich, gothic world of Sanctuary, Blizzard makes sure players have plenty to sink their teeth into, whether you're a fresh-faced player taking their first steps into Sanctuary or a grizzled veteran of the Burning Hells.

We recently saw the Diablo 4 Season 4 release date roll around, and the good news is that it is there in time for the arrival of D4 on Game Pass. Just like every other seasonal event, it added a whole bunch of new content to explore in Blizzard's action RPG game, no matter whether you're a level 100 player who's been around since the Diablo 4 release date or someone who is considering jumping into the game now it's coming to Game Pass.

What are the best clicker and idle games? Also known as 'incremental' or 'idle' games, the name betrays certain expectations: click your mouse, get a tiny reward, and repeat until you can make the process more efficient and lucrative. Once relegated to the dark corners of Itch.io and Kongregate, the genre has grown in popularity in recent years, and marketplaces like Steam are bursting at the seams with new idle, clicker, and incremental games for you to try.

Luckily, you have PCGamesN to help you find the best clicker games worth playing. The very best ones manage to distill high-complexity concepts into a series of single clicks and automation, and while they might not be among the best PC games for their depth or storylines, they're certainly among the most relaxing games to play for a calming few hours or more. They're also often free, so if you're looking for a low-budget alternative to the best free PC games, you may find an idle game that suits your tastes.

I have played many a creepy throwback game that takes inspiration from the ever inadequately named "Golden" (Grimy and Diseased? Cadaverous, perhaps) Age of survival horror on PS1, but it's rare you play one that invokes the N64, and even less often that you stumble on something horror-adjacent that riffs on Star Fox 64. Ah, Star Fox! The natural companion piece for, say, Eternal Darkness or The Suffering. In fairness, I did always find those Pez dispenser dialogue animations pretty eerie.

To kick off with some extremely half-arsed mytho-geometry, the original Frostpunk was a testament to both the design utility and the inexhaustible political symbolism of circles. When people wish to found a community of equals they commonly form a circle, with each participant visible and audible to the rest. A circle is also the best shape for defending against an engulfing ambient threat such as a global ice age, because it has no weak points, and it makes a great centrepiece for a videogame interface, a symmetrical motif that can be tuned and adorned to either suck your attention into the screen or distribute it evenly in all directions.

Created by Polish developers 11 bit, Frostpunk takes place in the middle of a circle, an Arctic crater with a huge coal generator at its heart. Your city rises in rings around that generator, each additional layer of dwellings corresponding intuitively to decreasing temperature, and the result is one of the most focused and thematically consistent specimens of its genre - a building game that feels as intimate and urgent as tending a campfire. Frostpunk 2's new campaign mode breaks the circle open. It starts where you (hopefully) ended, with the crater now fully colonised and evolved into a glaring, blue-orange geode of high-density housing and clustered chimneys. But the view has been pulled back, and construction now unfolds along the plains and canyons beyond the crater, which consist not of circles but of hexagons - another UI designer's favourite - on which you'll plot out upgradeable districts rather than assembling individual buildings.

There are references to Nintendo games like Pokemon and Super Mario during the Fubuki section. There's an Altered Beast callback during Mio's portion. A Fantasy Zone aesthetic comes up when Okayu is singing. Meanwhile, Korone's begins with a DOOM-like introduction. Other series like Mega Man, Star Fox, and Street Fighter are referenced.

Apex-Toys Working Honkai Impact 3rd Seele and Veliona Figure

Apex-Toys teased the upcoming release of its Honkai Impact 3rd figure that features Seele and her other self, Veliona. The reveal comes ahead of its pre-orders opening.

This Seele and Veliona Honkai Impact 3rd figure is based on the Mirrored Flourishes outfit for the Stygian Nymph battlesuit, and it is a 1/8 scale statue. Seele is seated on the right in her white and blue outfit, while Veliona is on the left in her black and red one. The scythe weapon is nowhere in sight. The two parts of Seele sit on a bench together with a small table between them, with Veliona pointing at her counterpart. The flowers on the vines growing along the back match their outfits' colors.

Here are the first three photos of Seele and Veliona shared by Apex-Toys.

For those familiar with Honkai: Star Rail, Seele may look familiar. This is because the Seele we meet in Belobog is an alternate version of the heroine. This is similar to how the Bronya and Silver Wolf in that game are alternate versions of Bronya from Honkai Impact 3rd.

It isn't unusual for Apex-Toys to work on figures based on HoYoVerse properties. For example, the company showed off its Honkai: Star Rail Fu Xuan one at the start of 2024, and that will ship in May 2025. The company also recently announced a Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae figure as well.

Honkai Impact 3rd is available for PCs and mobile devices, and the Seele and Veliona figure is in development.

Days With Ollie Preview

The visual novel Days With Ollie is one of the latest Hololive games and revolves around Indonesian Vtuber Kureiji Ollie. But while Ollie herself is a born entertainer, Days With Ollie unfortunately fails to match her infectious energy. It instead ends up as an unfortunate and frustrating slog of dead ends and recurring bugs.

Developed by P.T. Digital Artha, the game was directed by Ollie herself with art from Hievasp and ClozyOzy. It plays as a choice-based, but fairly linear, visual novel that follows the story of an unnamed protagonist attempting to become Ollie's personal reporter, while avoiding the many, many pratfalls along the way. There are four chapters in Days With Ollie, and succeeding will earn you some special art screens, but you'll be getting well acquainted with the quickload system long before you reach them.

My first dead end was also when I encountered my first bug, where the game would revert back to the Indonesian language for certain screens even if set to English. Luckily, it was on a screen where the only two options were "quit to title" and "retry," so I figured which was which fairly quickly, but later on every choice and even some story segments began appearing in Bahasa Indonesia too.

The game previously encountered a brief delay to fix bugs, but a great many appear to have stubbornly remained, including one that stopped me progressing altogether. At a certain point towards the end of the first chapter, answering a question would freeze the game and reloading. Choosing different answers and even re-installing didn't help. I was finally able to progress after finding a solution online, which involved switching back and forth between languages again.

The game has a number of other issues with spelling errors and the like, but while annoying, these are more easily fixed. I think the bigger problems stem from the script itself. With the meat of the gameplay essentially being to search through all the bad ends before moving on to the real solution, having those bad ends be entertaining is paramount. Unfortunately, Days With Ollie swings many times only a few ending up as hits. Some of the gags involve running into other Hololive members or recurring in-jokes, while others are ridiculous and follow a sort of logic. My favorite was an early encounter with a rich kid who you can attempt to scare off by acting possessed, resulting in him calling an exorcist on you. But others are simple "Rocks Fall, You Died" screens that add precious little to the experience.

The choices also rarely manage to be meaningful or even entertaining, which is a shame. Sometimes in games like these, there's a sort of logic the developer expects you to figure out after a fashion. Say, if reasonable responses fail you, then perhaps flowing with the game's moon logic is the answer and you should pick zanier options. But in Days With Ollie, there doesn't seem to be any such logic, other than in some specific trivia questions. Sometimes the answer is to be a decent human being, and other times the correct response is to freak out. But not too much, of course, as that will get you arrested.

I know I've been very negative towards Days with Ollie, but I hope it doesn't come off as mean-spirited. It just feels like a missed opportunity to explore some parts of the relationship between fans and entertainers, bridging that para-social gap so to speak. It's not like the game is totally devoid of charm, of course. Once you actually meet Ollie, the pace picks up a fair bit. Some of the music is quite nice, especially the intro theme.

If you're going to play Days With Ollie, I recommend doing so as a group, rather than on your own. Having friends or even a streamer chat to riff with will likely make the experience more enjoyable. I wonder if the particular vein of absurd answers is intended to cater to that kind of setting. But on its own, Days With Ollie just doesn't manage to be compelling as a visual novel.

Days With Ollie is available now on PC via Steam, and it is also Steam Deck compatible.

See the Exclusive Steam Kingdom Hearts III Keyblade

Square Enix took to social media on the Steam product page for Kingdom Hearts III and its Re Mind DLC to share how the exclusive Keyblade for that storefront will look. The only way people can get Dead of Night is if they go through that retailer, just like how Epic Games Store has its own Keyblade.

Here's the official announcement showing off the exclusive Dead of Night Kingdom Hearts III Steam Keyblade. The other forms aren't shown. We also don't know what its stats or Shotlocks will be.

https://twitter.com/KINGDOMHEARTS/status/1795447690903572720

As a reminder, this is one of multiple exclusive Kingdom Hearts III Keyblades tied to specific platforms or stores. For example, the Epic Games Store exclusive weapon is called Elemental Encoder. If you played the Cloud versions of the game on the Switch, you could grab Advent Red. The PlayStation 4 one is Midnight Blue, while the Xbox one is Phantom Green. There was also the former 7-Eleven Dawn Till Dusk Keyblade.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re MindDLC will come to PC via Steam on June 13, 2024. The games are also available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store now.

Out of all the characters in Wuthering Waves, there are currently two main healers and one character with a healing ability.      Wuthering Waves Tower Of Adversity Stable ZoneTower of Adversity is the main endgame mode in Wuthering Waves. Similar to Spiral Abyss and Memory of Chaos in Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, Tower of Adversity features a range of increasingly difficult challenges to master that regularly refresh. Before you can access the real meat of the Tower of Adversity, however, you must clear all four floors of the Stable Zone. This is essentially the tutorial section for Tower of Adversity, preparing you for the real thing later on.
