PCGamesN Tuesday, January 7, 2025 7:28 PM  AMD's new Radeon gaming GPUs barely had a mention in the company's recent announcement at CES, but I've spotted a load of new AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and 9070 graphics cards on the CES show floor, not only from board partners such as Asus and Gigabyte, but also AMD reference models. AMD might be playing down its new GPUs, but the cards definitely do exist, so let's take a look at them. There's little doubt that the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 is going to take the best graphics card crown when it comes out at the end of January, but we were hoping that the new AMD GPUs would at least take on the RTX 5070 with some competitive pricing. While there's no release date or price for the Radeon RX 9070 XT yet, though, we can at least take a look at the cards. It's tough right now. We've already seen plenty of studios that were spun up over the last four or five years close their doors or downsize after getting just a single game out the door - some aren't even able to achieve that before running out of cash. The latest studio to be impacted is Jar of Sparks, the studio formed in 2022 by former Microsoft veteran and Halo Infinite lead designer Jerry Hook, which is now "halting work" on its debut game and letting staff explore other opportunities. The Evangelion 30+ event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the anime series will include a Fans' Market exhibiting professional and amateur creations. The event will be held between February 21-23, 2026 at Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
Those wishing to participate in the Evangelion 30+ Fans' Market need to be 18 years old or older, residents of Japan, and able to communicate in Japanese. Meanwhile, people residing outside of Japan will be able to participate as long as they have a representative acting as proxy that resides in Japan, can act as a Japanese interpreter in their behalf, and is capable of accompanying the applicant during the event. More details about the upcoming Evangelion 30+ event will be announced after summer 2025.
The Evangelion anime series first aired on October 4, 1995, which marks 2025 as the 30th anniversary of the series. Related to the anniversary of the series, McDonald's Japan is currently offering a series of limited-time Evangelion burgers.
The Evangelion 30+ event will be held between February 21-23, 2026 at the Yokohama Arena in Japan. The original Evangelion anime series is available on Netflix, and the Rebuild of Evangelion anime films are on Amazon.

The Kiki's Delivery Service novel series will receive new covers drawn by Spy x Family manga author Tatsuya Endo. This new edition will release to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the publication of the novel series in 2025
The special covers will be available in Japan as part of Fukuinkan Shoten's new paperback edition of the novel series, which is set to release sequentially from February 3, 2025. The illustrations inside the book, however, will be the original. So far, only the cover art for the first volume has been shown. It features Kiki and her talking cat Jiji soaring across the night sky on a flying broom, with the full moon glowing yellow above a coastal town.

If you want to see Kiki's Delivery Service in yet another different art style, McDonald's Japan held a collaboration with the popular series back in June 2024 and it featured a series of short animations.
The new Kiki's Delivery Service novel series with covers drawn by Spy x Family author Tatsuya Endo will release in Japan on February 3, 2025. The novel was adapted into an anime film by Studio Ghibli in 1989, and it is now available streaming on Netflix.

The January 8, 2025 episode of Kaitai Kingdom on NHK will focus on how staff took down the giant Gundam display in Yokohama. You'll be able to catch the program from 7:57 AM (2:57pm PT/5:57pm ET on January 7, 2025). [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]
The main theme of the show focuses on whether or not people can take apart this giant Gundam without damaging any of the parts. Since the Gundam will next appear at the Gundam Next Future Pavilion in Osaka, the staff can't afford to damage it during the dismantling process. In some screenshots of the show, we can see them using giant cranes on both land and sea. According to the description on NHK's website, one of the potential dangers in taking apart the figure comes from using the ocean crane. This is due to the presence of mines that the American navy set up during the Pacific War.
The 60-foot-tall Gundam figure was first installed in December 2020 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam. It can move its limbs, move forwards and backwards, and kneel. 1.75 million people visited the Gundam display between December 2020 and late March 2024. More might have made the trip to see it, but they had to restrict the number of visitors during the pandemic.
The Gundam episode of Kaitai Kingdom will air on January 8, 2025 in Japan.

A series of cosmetics from Junji Ito's catalogue of work have arrived in Dead by Daylight, and have been bundled into a collection which includes a skin inspired by Tomie. Several of these cosmetics boast unique audio, such as the Tomie and Miss Fuchi skin.
You can take a look at what characters will appear as skins in the Junji Ito collection below:
A total of eight outfits for both Killer and Survivor will be available to purchase from the collection, with the cosmetics varying from Legendary to Very Rare. This includes the following:
Previous collaborations with Behaviour Interactive's 5-vs-1 asymmetrical horror game have included the likes of Silent Hill and Resident Evil. And more recently, Castlevania, which added Dracula and Trevor Belmont into the game.
Dead by Daylight is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X. The Dead by Daylight Junji Ito collection, which includes the Tomie skin for The Spirit, is immediately available.

The CLAMP exhibition will return to Japan starting on February 27, 2025, and it will then run until March 31, 2025. The lottery for tickets will open on January 8, 2025.
This year, you'll be able to see the CLAMP exhibition on the 9th floor of the Fukuoka Mitsukoshi. Tickets cost 1600 JPY ($10.15) for adults, and you'll have until January 13, 2025 to put your name into the lottery. These tickets are for specific times and dates. If you want to, you can also purchase tickets the day you go to the exhibition. However, tickets will cost 1800 JPY ($11.40) instead.
The last time CLAMP held an exhibition in Japan, it ran from July to September 2024 in Roppongi, Tokyo. The Fukuoka exhibition will have over 200 works in color, and over 350 in black-and-white. You'll be able to see panels from the manga, key visuals that appeared in magazines or promotional material, and more.
As for CLAMP, it is a manga artist group that debuted in 1987. It produced many iconic works such as Magic Knight Rayearth, Cardcaptor Sakura, xxxHolic, and Chobits. Aside from writing manga, CLAMP also does work like character design. Some anime it designed for include Code Geass, Blood-C, and Vanguard overDress.
The CLAMP exhibition will appear in Fukuoka from February 27 to March 31, 2025.

Konami shared a new clip of the upcoming Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster showing footage of the villain Neclord in the second game in the collection. In the first two Suikoden games, Neclord is a vampire lord waging war against the city of Tinto.
The clip shared shows Neclord arriving to Tinto City followed by his horde of zombies, with the intention of creating his own kingdom in the mountain range where the city is built on. The post was shared on the Suikoden X (formerly Twitter) official account, accompanied by a caption quoting Neclord's greeting to the city of Tinto and mayor Gustav. The English version of the clip also shows the new translation of the game.

As a reminder, Konami recently shared another clip of Suikoden 2 HD Remaster protagonist Riou and Kasumi visiting the ninja village of Rokkaku, as well as some gameplay footage of Suikoden 1 HD Remaster.
Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will come to the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on March 6, 2025. The original games appeared on the PlayStation worldwide. They also appeared together in a collection on the PSP in Japan.
