In Japan, tipping is basically not a thing. There are a few occasions where one does tip, such as at a ryokan, or a traditional Japanese inn. But generally, good service is expected minus tips. So if you go to a restaurant, the price on your bill is what you pay. One Japanese company is trying to change that.

"If you…

Sable shows us a world free from misogyny – and it's wonderful

I'm an independent person. I'm also not a man. Unfortunately, through no fault of my own, these facts are oppositional. There are many activities that people who aren't men don't feel safe doing, are advised against doing, or are unable to do independently, whether as a result of danger or law.

An hour or two into Sable - check out our review here, by the way - I'm ready to leave the canyon where my clan had once settled, and after a final goodbye from my matriarchal caregiver Jadi, I am, for the first time in my life, truly alone. Simoon, my sentient hoverbike, thrums under me as we crest a mesa. The game's score swells, and I stylishly swing Simoon to a stop and dismount to take in the vista. I think about the journey I'm about to embark on, the discoveries I'll make, and the challenges I'll overcome. I put down my controller and stare at the cold maze of windshorn rock faces that extends as far as the eye can see. The light transitions from burning orange, to twilit grey, and eventually to midnight blue, as Japanese Breakfast's soundtrack plucks at my heartstrings. I start to cry.

I was on a countryside walk with my partner recently. The sun was setting and an energetic poodle bounded up to me to lick my hand. Its owner approached to coax their dog along and we shared a smile. Shortly afterwards, my partner notes that it's nice to find places where feminine presenting people are at ease, and I relate that there's an unspoken comfort in crossing paths with people who aren't men. A shared moment of, 'Hey, it's nice to see you here! Feels like there's no risk we'll get assaulted this far out in the country, isn't that neat?'

The best Fortnite skins in Chapter 2 Season 8

Want to know what the best Fortnite skins in Chapter 2 Season 8 are? The latest season of Fortnite is finally here, and with it comes a host of changes to the game as well as plenty of new skins. You can create your own coloured Toona Fish style, acquire new Sideways weapons, and experiment with the updated crafting system.

Fortnite is no stranger to crossover characters, but Epic kicked things up a gear with the introduction of NPCs in Season 5. The Mandalorian plus Grogu, Predator, and even Ellen Ripley from Alien have all debuted in the battle royale game. Season 6 took things a step further, throwing Neymar and Lara Croft into the fray, while Season 7 saw Rick, Morty, and Superman make their Fortnite debuts.

It's easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of characters Epic adds to Fortnite – if you've taken a break from the game and want to know who Epic will add to the Fortnite skin roster this season, we've got you covered. Season 8 begins with another Marvel crossover, namely Carnage, so expect to see some more new crossovers soon.

The best Genshin Impact Rosaria build

Looking for the best Genshin Impact Rosaria build? This character arrived in the Genshin Impact 1.4 update and is a Cryo based four-star character, who specialises in being a frosty DPS dealer. Rosaria has been part of Genshin Impact for a while as a playable character.

So what exactly is her deal? For one, she is a member of the Church of Favonius in Mondstadt, the big town with giant windmills you visit towards the beginning of Genshin Impact. She's also got a rather interesting definition of piety, as she seems somewhat selfish and refuses to attend choir practice because she finds it boring.

But as a fighter, this pale nun has some excellent skills and is perfectly capable of dealing all the Cryo-based Genshin Impact element damage you'll need. We're confident that, even though she's not the best at the DPS role, Rosaria will be a great fit onto any team that needs some more Cryo damage; to get the most out of her icy skills, here's the best Genshin Impact Rosaria build.

Valve prepares Half-Life 2 for the Steam Deck with its largest patch in over 10 years

There are fewer video game series more important than Half-Life, particularly when it comes to PC gaming. While the first game challenged perceptions of the importance of narrative within FPS games, Half-Life 2 pushed the best graphics cards and best gaming CPUs of its era with never before seen heights of visual fidelity and its innovative physics engine. It also ushered in a new era of PC gaming with the Steam platform. Now, 17 years later, Valve has updated its classic title with its biggest patch in over 10 years.

As highlighted by YouTuber Tyler McVicker, a new beta branch is now available to download via the game's beta tab in Steam. While there are currently no official patch notes for this version of Half-Life 2, numerous technical improvements have already been quickly discerned.

The game's HUD now scales with the selected rendering resolution, having been previously locked, resulting in larger elements on aspect ratios outside 4:3. There's also support for ultrawide resolutions, with an FOV ceiling of 110 that is enabled without having to modify DLL files.

     The best LAPA Warzone loadout

Want to unlock the LAPA SMG in Warzone? Warzone Season 6 has arrived, introducing new Warzone Season 6 bunkers to '80s Verdansk, brand new operators, and two new weapons: the Grav assault rifle and the .410 Ironhide. The LAPA is also arriving later in the season and will join the growing list of Warzone guns. With the new Warzone map on the horizon, this SMG could be the last Cold War weapon to make it into the battle royale game before the Call of Duty Vanguard release date arrives.

The last few seasons of Warzone have focused on weapon balancing - addressing the time to kill speed on the best Warzone SMGs and assault rifles. With the right attachments, there's a good chance the LAPA will be overpowered at launch, as is the case for a lot of new Warzone guns. It's worth unlocking the LAPA right away to try it out in case it does get nerfed down the line.

The Haunting Halloween 2021 update is live now, along with two sets of challenges to unlock the LAPA. If you aren't a fan of the Ghosts of Verdansk mode and you own a copy of Black Ops Cold War, you can always hop into the other game to complete the multiplayer and zombies challenges instead. Here's what you need to do to build the best LAPA loadout in Warzone.

New World patch fixes invincibility exploit

October 20, 2021 Amazon Games has issued a fix in New World's latest patch

Amazon Games has issued a fix for an easily-replicable exploit that has been giving New World players infinite invincibility, which proved particularly bothersome in PvP encounters. The developer confirmed the news in a set of update notes for patch 1.0.3, alongside a host of over fixes.

We won't provide the details here, but suffice to say that the exploit was easy to replicate, and essentially allowed you to remain invincible indefinitely. Players couldn't move while abusing the glitch, but it did allow them to stand forever on capture points, preventing Wars from ever progressing.

In a forum thread reporting the exploit, a New World community manager confirmed the team was aware and investigating. Elsewhere in the thread, the rep said "our top priority with any bugs or exploits that come up is to solve the problem as quickly as possible. If there are folks abusing a bug/exploit we will make sure they are handled by moderation".

Destiny 2: what is the Nightfall weapon this week?

Want to know what this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon is? Each week you've got a chance at a different weapon for completing Nightfall Strikes, and as of Season of the Lost, you can now get fan-favourite legacy weapons from the original Destiny. Two more of these weapons arrived in Season of the Lost, so it's more important than ever to know in advance the Nightfall weapon schedule.

In case all these words are new to you, Nightfall: The Ordeal is a playlist available in the Vanguard menu, alongside the basic Strike playlist. Each week, a different Strike is chosen as the Nightfall, and offered in five escalating difficulties, with harder enemies, challenging modifiers, and enemy power levels cranking up.

The coveted Nightfall weapons have a chance to drop from any Nightfall Strike difficulty, but it's far more likely at higher levels. Your best bet for farming each week's Nightfall weapon is to set the Strike to Master difficulty, according to YouTuber Aztecross. You should also note that there's no automatic matchmaking above Hero difficulty, however, so you'll need to get a squad together.

Activision Blizzard have filed an application to halt the harassment and discrimination lawsuit from the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH). This follows an update on the suit last week, which revealed that two DFEH lawyers previously worked for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), who're also going through legal proceedings with Actiblizzard, creating a conflict of interest. Now the Call Of Duty and World Of Warcraft publishers want the DFEH's case to be paused so they can investigate, and decide whether they want to try and get the case disqualified, or find "other appropriate remedies".

Gloomhaven's scoundrel has a custom animation for her flintlock pistol, and I am still jazzed about it. Releasing today in full after lurking in early access for the last two years, there are eleven classes in this digital adaptation of Cephalofair's tabletop legacy dungeon crawler, hereafter referred to as 'Tablehaven'. Each class, from psychic rodent Mindthief to basalt shithouse Cragheart, has around 30 ability cards each. And Flaming Fowl, alongside offering Tablehaven's entire branching campaign, map editors, and a digi-only 'Guildmaster' campaign, have animated this single flintlock shot. It's almost opulent.

All right, so I probably won't use it much. Five damage at range four is a belter, but that burn hurts for a single target ability. I'll be smiling when I do, though. Grinning as the scoundrel whips the silver pistol from her hip and deletes a cultist just before he summons a skeleton. Just as I've been grinning at these detailed, cel-shaded dungeons and grimy sewers, or the spoken narration before each quest. All Gloomhaven needed to do was not get in Tablehaven's way too much. Accuracy and usability would have been just fine. But there's enough passion and pizzaz in this wonderful package that a part of me wishes I was new here, just so I could be surprised all over again.

Forza Horizon 5 Gold CoverIn the last few days, more and more hands on previews for Forza Horizon 5 have emerged. Now we know why, as the launch edition of the game has wrapped up production and is now being pressed onto discs and uploaded to servers. Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios have officially confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 has gone gold ahead of launch. With the launch edition now being prepared for deployment, the next month leading up to release is going to be filled with more and more content. The latest tidbit of info are the song lists of the in-universe radio stations Horizon Pulse, and Horizon Block Party. While the radio stations themselves are from the Horizon universe, the songs are very much real. Included this time around are, fittingly, a lot of Latin artists. Playground made sure to include "local Spanish language artists from across Latin America and are thrilled to their introduce their music to a global audience."
