If I can get you to look up from your new Nintendo Switch 2 for a second, you might want to consider how your whole world will likely change in just a few days. It won’t change right away, but when Apple kicks off its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday it’ll map out the future of every platform for every Apple device under the sun.
Your iPhone will change and get glassier, your iPad will get more desktop-y, your Mac platform will get a new destination name, and we might hear a little, or not much at all, about what’s up with Apple’s AI (Apple intelligence) plans.
I’m packing for the trip right now, but we’ve been writing about WWDC for weeks, and we’ll be covering every detail from Monday’s keynote, and following up with coverage throughout the week.
I know, you’re intrigued – but you’re also desperate to get back to the biggest news in gaming consoles since the PS5: the launch of the Switch 2. After a long wait and some tariff-related confusion about availability and pricing, the lighter, thinner, more powerful, and more expensive Nintendo handheld gaming device is here. I saw it, and I touched it. It’s lovely, and the Joy-Con 2’s release and attachment finally make sense to me.
In between trying to help you find a Switch 2, and then learn everything about gaming on it, the TechRadar Gaming team is also covering Summer Game Fest, and there will be a whole lot of news coming out of that today, tomorrow, and Sunday.
It's not been all Apple and Nintendo this week. We posted our full review of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge – yes, it’s incredibly thin and that’s a big plus, but is a trim look enough? Samsung also surprised us this week with a mini reveal of a rebranded Galaxy Z fold that will have ‘Ultra’ in its name. We think that means Ultra-level cameras, but the rest is a mystery, as are all the details on just when the next Unpacked will, er, unpack.
In the world of entertainment, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is all anyone is talking about. I’ve been astounded at all the exclusives our Senior Entertainment Reporter Tom Power has been getting, which are giving us some fascinating insights into what looks like a very popcorn-friendly flick.
Personally, I’m still counting the days to James Gunn’s Superman, because the best heroes really do wear capes.
Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll catch up with you from WWDC.
The 2025 edition of Apple's annual software showcase is just a couple of days away, and we've put together a comprehensive guide to what we're expecting Apple to announce, including some big changes to iOS, macOS, and its other software platforms.
We've got our hands on the Switch 2, and you can read our ongoing review of the new console, its controllers and other accessories, and the new games we're playing on it.
Samsung has strongly hinted that a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra is on the way, and that means it might launch alongside the standard Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, likely in July.
It's hard to believe how much better ChatGPT's image-generation capabilities have got over the course of the last year – as these two responses to "draw a bird" demonstrate.
There are lots of exciting new movies and TV shows to catch this weekend – will you be staying in to watch Ginny & Georgia season 3, or checking out Ballerina at the cinema?
