There has been an update on the Mages insolvency situation: Chiyomaru Shikura, the chairman and executive director of the game developer, stepped down. He thanks the staff, fans, and everyone who has been with him since the company began. However, Shikura plans on remaining a creator with Mages. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!] Not only will Shikura continue making games, but he will also remain a part of Mages. Shikura will be an executive producer and is working in the creative side of things. On his personal Twitter account, he said that he is in discussions to continue working on games in a new position, surrounded by familiar faces. He has not stated who will replace him, and the Mages website has not announced anything yet. During his time at the game developer, Shikura contributed to the production of Mages games such as the Science Adventure series. This includes games such as Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head. He has also worked on anime series such as Yuru Camp. Shikura was one of the founding members of the company. This is likely the first step that Colopl and Mages are taking in order to resolve its insolvency issues and get itself out of its massive debt. Square Enix released a new Final Fantasy XIV fan kit, including artwork of the upcoming Patch 6.3, titled "Gods Revel, Lands Tremble." The new fan kit includes desktop and smartphone wallpapers. The artwork selected is the key promotional artwork for Patch 6.3, and it features the Warrior of Light along with the voidsent Zero, who made their first appearance in Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, and will be a key character in the upcoming update. The Final Fantasy XIV fan kit also includes a variety of assets from previous expansions and patches of the game, available to use on social media, such as twitter banners, packs for Streamlabs OBS among others. This fan kit arrives ahead of the release of the new Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.3, which comes out on January 10, 2023. The new patch for Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker includes new Main Story Quests featuring Alphinaud, Alisaie, and Zero as key characters, along with a long-awaited rework of the Paladin job, the second series of the Myths of the Realm raids, and Eureka Orthos, a new Deep Dungeon and the first one since the Stormblood expansion. Studio Khara confirmed the bonus items that will come with the Blu-Ray and DVD release of Evangelion 3.0+1.11. Three different editions will be offered at select Japanese retailers. However, depending on where you make your purchase, you will obtain different bonus items, such as the complete soundtrack, a copy of the original script of the movie, or acrylic plates of various Evangelion characters. [Thanks, Dengeki!] In October 2022, Studio Khara confirmed the official release date for the home version of the movie as March 8, 2023. Originally released as Evangelion 3.0+1.0 in March 8, 2021, Evangelion 3.0+1.11 is the chosen name for the Blu-Ray and DVD re-release of the fourth and last installment in the Rebuild of Evangelion series. This version includes new unrevealed footage, titled Evangelion: 3.0 (-46H). The three different editions available for pre-order are a Blu-Ray version, a DVD version (both cost 8,580 yen separately, roughly $65), and a Blu-Ray + 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version, costing 10,780 yen (roughly $81). Different bonus items will be included depending on the Japanese retailer. The Evangelion online store offers a copy of the original script with their limited edition. This will cost 9,900 yen (roughly $75) for the Blu-Ray and DVD versions separately, and 12,100 yen (roughly $91) for the Blu-Ray + 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version. The Kinkurido online store offers the complete soundtrack of the movie in two discs, including the theme song "One Last Kiss" and "Beautiful World (Da Capo Version -End Roll Size Edit)," both sung by artist Hikaru Utada. However, the soundtrack only comes with the Blu-Ray + 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version, which will cost 13,860 yen (roughly $105). The company reportedly made this move to cut back on its ambitions in the gaming industry to a degree. Apparently, the company has chosen to focus on releasing games that build on existing brands and have higher chances of resonating with audiences. This means that Baldur's Gate 3, the Early Access RPG developed by Larian Studios, will still see its full release in August of this year. Schreier reports that these game cancelations coincided with a small layoff of fewer than 15 employees within Wizards of the Coast.
