The best M13 loadout in Warzone Pacific

What is the best M13 loadout in Warzone Pacific? The M13 is often overlooked in Call of Duty's battle royale as it can lack some punch over long distances and is slightly less effective than the best CR-56 AMAX loadout and the best Grau Warzone setups. However, the M13 is a machine in close and mid-range battles, with next to no vertical recoil and a rate of fire that makes up for its low damage per shot rating. On top of this, it's also very mobile and quick to aim down sights with.

It's harder to quantify, but the M13 simply feels good to use in Warzone Pacific – provided you don't try to kill snipers with it. Shooting from long distances with the M13 works well enough, but you won't be able to down enemies very easily unless they have already lost their armour. In order to get the best out of this underutilised AR, we've put together our pick of the best M13 attachments for the dream Warzone M13 loadout.

For this setup we've tried to maximise the aim down sights speed, improve the range and recoil further, and ensure it still has all the essential features of the best Warzone guns, namely a suppressor and big magazines. We also have an alternative M13 class setup that features a short range optic and slightly better handling stats.

4K at 144Hz versus 1440p at 165Hz: choosing the right gaming monitor

There's a lot to consider when buying a new monitor. Will it fit on your desk? Is it bright enough? Does it have built-in speakers that are going to do the job without sounding like a tin can? Spoiler alert: we can count on one hand how many fit that last category and BenQ's Trevolo speakers lead the charge. But no features are more important to the discerning gamer than the speed and resolution of their panel.

While some of us want to gaze upon our favourite gaming worlds in ultra-high definition, FPS enthusiasts benefit more from silky smooth refresh rates that enhance responsiveness and performance. Unfortunately, finding the right high-spec gaming monitor isn't always easy, especially since many displays out there have to compromise between refresh rate and resolution.

Thankfully, many 4K monitors now support up to 144Hz, meaning it is possible to have the best of both worlds. 1440p displays typically boast an even higher refresh rate, with 165Hz options becoming more of a norm. The question is, does a higher refresh rate make a difference, or is it wiser to opt for a 4K 144Hz panel? We've partnered with BenQ to help shed some light on screen specs and what you need to know.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel secret packs: how to unlock every pack

So, you want to know about Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel secret packs? These special booster card packs for free-to-play CCG Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel are easy enough to find, given that they're supposed to be a secret. But things are not as straightforward as you might expect so it's worth reading up on the details.

Secret packs all follow a particular theme - usually focusing on a specific card or archetype - and each one is guaranteed to give you four of whatever the 'headline' cards are for that pack. The other four cards (for a total of eight) are randomised. This focus on a particular subject can make them desirable if you're looking for complimentary cards for something you already own in your collection.

So how do you get one of these 'secret' packs in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, and how do you know which one you need? Lucky for you we're here to tell you everything you need to know - how much they are, how you unlock them, and what you need to know as you try to find them.

Best SSD for gaming – the top solid state drives in 2022

Many modern machines still have hard drives whirring away inside them, but if you're aiming to build the best gaming PC, you'll want to opt for a solid state drive. Paring an ultra-fast SSD, the best graphics card and the latest gaming CPU could make for an incredible rig, one that should minimise load screens and make booting into Windows 11 a super snappy experience.

While SSD's used to be an optional luxury, upcoming games like PlayStation's God of War PC port explicitly recommend a solid state drive, and even consoles now use the storage tech as a standard. Thankfully, even PCIe 4.0 drives by Samsung, Crucial, and Western Digital are more affordable than ever to pair with the best motherboards. Better still, higher capacity 1TB options now come with a pleasing price tag, so you won't have to dual wield a mechanical drive for storage while using an SSD below 500GB as a boot drive.

Of course, you don't have to build a new PC to benefit from a solid state, as there are plenty of SATA SSDs that could give your rickety rig a new lease of life. Many gaming laptops also feature additional M.2 slots, so you could fortify your portable powerhouse and bring your entire Steam library with you on your travels. With all of the above in mind, we've tested the best SSDs on the market, and our selection should cater to a variety of gaming needs.

Elden Ring takes around 30 hours to beat, but has

The Elden Ring release date draws ever nearer, and details about what FromSoft's next adventure will entail continue to emerge. We've already had word of the Elden Ring system requirements and that it should be the studio's "best game to-date". Now, the devs have made an appearance at this year's Taipei Game Show and revealed roughly how long it'll take to beat.

Producer Yasuhiro Kitao has spoken about the time it takes to complete Elden Ring at the show, revealing - presumably to the relief of those who aren't massive fans of big ol' time sinks - that its main story should take around 30 hours. "This will differ significantly by player, but in terms of the targets set during development, the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within around 30 hours," Kitao explains in the stream (below).

However, it sounds like there's plenty else to sink your teeth into alongside this if you're a fan of mopping up everything a modern RPG has to offer. "The game as a whole is quite massive, and contains many dozens more hours worth of gameplay, but if we are talking about the main route only, it shouldn't take much longer than that."

Looks like Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is coming next year

It appears increasingly likely that Call of Duty: Warzone will get a follow up. Bloomberg's Jason Schreier and freelance writer Tom Henderson separately report that Warzone 2 will release in 2023.

While Microsoft has agreed to a $70 billion deal with Activision Blizzard to purchase the company, Schreier reports that the next three Call of Duty games should still come to PlayStation, according to the site's sources. That's one Call of Duty game this year, and then another next year alongside a Warzone follow-up. As for 2024 and beyond, though, Schreier says it's "hazier" regarding COD's console situation. Schreier adds that this year's Call of Duty is expected to be a new entry into the Modern Warfare sub-series, with development being handled by Infinity Ward. Next year's COD, meanwhile, is being handled by Treyarch.

Henderson, meanwhile, is reporting much of the same. The freelance writer explains that Warzone 2 will be released on current consoles and PC only, which means no integration for past weapons. It looks like it'll be a clean slate for Activision Blizzard's popular battle royale game.

Valve updates Half-Life 2 with new UI ahead of the Steam Deck's launch

The Steam Deck is almost here, and Valve is busying itself with the final launch preparations for its handheld gaming PC, including updates to its own library of classic games. The developer has already turned its attention to Half-Life 2, deploying its largest patch in over 10 years. However, a more recent update found in its beta branch reveals Valve (much like The G-Man) still has plans for Gordon Freeman.

As spotted by gabefollower, Half-Life 2 now features a refreshed user interface that's undoubtedly made for the Steam Deck. The text in the game's main menu and in-game HUD is larger, with the latter featuring bigger selectable areas to accommodate touchscreens and the portable PC's touchscreen.

Half-Life 2: Episode 1 & 2 have also received this same update, and it's possible that we could see other Valve favourites like Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, and Portal get similar overhauls.

The best YuGiOh Master Duel starter deck

Wondering which YuGiOh Master Duel starter deck to pick? The new YuGiOh digital duelling platform is here, and card game veterans, anime fans, and new players alike are diving in to try it out.

After downloading the free-to-play game and completing the basic tutorials, you receive 1,000 gems and the option to choose one of three starter decks. Each of the three starter decks belongs to a different playstyle and uses a specific type of summoning, which prompts the all-important question - which one is the best?

The answer to this question, of course, depends on your level of familiarity with the card game. If you're new to YuGiOh, you may want to stick with a simple deck for a while as you learn. On the other hand, if you're a more experienced duelist, you may want to know which starter deck has the best cards for future use. Fortunately, your choice here doesn't matter too much, as you can eventually unlock all three starter decks as you play through the missions.

League of Legends patch 12.3 notes – big Ahri abilities rework, Vel'Koz VFX update

As we head further into the new year, the League of Legends patches keep on coming. League of Legends patch 12.2 has headed to live servers, bringing new champion Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, and a whole lot of new skins. It seems 12.3 will be a somewhat humbler affair, at least as far as cosmetics are concerned, but there are still plenty of key changes fans will want to know - so, read on if you're keen to know what's next.

It appears that League of Legends patch 12.3 won't be bringing new skins - given that these tend to hit the PBE first thing in a new testing cycle, and there doesn't seem to be any as yet - but we do have some big Ahri balance changes coming up. Principal character designer August 'Riot August' Browning has posted some details around this on Twitter.

Goals for the refresh include "lean[ing] into her mobile mage identity by allowing R to partially reset, giving her more opportunities to carry fights" and reworking her passive ability to "be more useful throughout the game". Additionally, the devs want to "make her spells feel better to cast in lane". You can check out all the changed abilities in the notes below.

Oculus Quest 3 – release date, price, and specs of the Meta Quest

The Oculus Quest 2 is a VR headset heavy hitter, and Meta is harnessing its success to fuel its Metaverse plans. Not only has the rumoured Oculus Quest Pro morphed into a different VR venture dubbed Project Cambria, but the company says the Oculus Quest 3 is still on the cards.

Releasing a successor to one of the best VR headsets on the market isn't an unexpected move, but Meta recently rebranded its Quest lineup to better match its Facebook parent company name. Naturally, this means the Oculus Quest 2 could be the last of its kind, as the Oculus Quest 3 could bear a Meta Quest label instead.

Meta's Quest is set to continue, and the gaming PC headset will likely take a different path to that of Project Cambria. Yet, both VR experiences could feature similar tech under the hood, which makes matching up rumours difficult. With that in mind, here's everything we know about the Oculus Quest 3, including its price, release date, and specs.

Final Fantasy XIV Home World Transfer Service Congested

The Home World Transfer service in Final Fantasy XIV is currently congested due to the high volume of players requesting to have their Home World changed. Square Enix asks players to remain patient, as the process will take longer than usual. Additionally, if players are receiving an error message while applying for their free Home World Transfer, they should wait and try to apply again.

Square Enix also acknowledges that there is currently a very large amount of errors for those applying to transfer to the Oceania Data Center. The developer notes that this could in part be that players have not accessed the Data Center they wish to transfer to. Accessing the Data Center players wish to transfer to is a requirement for the transfer. However, players only need to access the Data Center once for the transfer to process correctly. In order to do this, players need to go to the start screen and change their Data Center to the Oceania Data Center. After that, the transfer should work, outside of the on-going issue with congestion.

Additionally, players will receive an e-mail once the application for the transfer processes. However, players are advised to avoid logging in to that specific character before the transfer is complete, as it will result in an error. It is unclear as to how long the Home World Transfer service in Final Fantasy XIV will remain congested.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
