Elden Ring publisher wants to collab with Mistborn author

Could there be a FromSoftware Mistborn RPG game? On a recent livestream, author Brandon Sanderson revealed that Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco is seeking a collaboration with the fantasy author - and even sent him some cool swag, too.

Mistborn and Wheel of Time author Brandon Sanderson has a bit of a history with videogames. Mistborn's Kelsier actually appeared in Fortnite, but the writer has regularly said that he'd like to work on a big fantasy game. Sanderson recently suggested that he was forced to turn down Forspoken because he's working on another game.

Sanderson also recently said that he would've liked to have worked on Elden Ring rather than George R.R. Martin. Now, on a recent livestream (thanks, VGC), the author reveals that Bandai Namco sent him a big box of Elden Ring goodies - including a map, cloak, and full-sized sword - and an offer to collaborate. "They're interested in perhaps doing something together," he says. "I actually have a pitch for them in the back of my head, so I may have to send them my pitch and see what they think."

Elden Ring's Will Smith invades, slaps players, and leaves

There's apparently a player going around pretending to be Elden Ring Will Smith - who invades people's games, slaps them, and walks away. This is obviously a clear reference to the incident at the Oscars this year, which has since become a meme - which has now reached FromSoftware's latest RPG game, it seems.

There are many fantastic Elden Ring builds to be made in the Dark Souls studio's new open-world game, from overpowered ninjas to ridiculous player-destroying mech suits. Players have also pulled pranks on invaders, like pretending to be an NPC.

In this latest attempt, Elden Ring players are cosplaying as a celebrity entirely to recreate a meme with other players. This is exactly what happened to a user on Reddit, who posted the whole incident. They receive a brief message saying they've been invaded by "WILL SMITH!" (all in capitals), and then prepare themselves for the usual epic invasion fight. Instead, "Will Smith" simply walks over to the player unarmed, slaps them once, and then walks away.

Next World of Warcraft expansion leaks, thanks to Blizzard

The next World of Warcraft expansion has leaked early due to an accidental reveal by Blizzard itself, on its website. The MMO game's expansion, which is due to be officially announced on April 19, is apparently called World of Warcraft: Dragonflight - and players can expect a few new dragon mounts at the very least.

Historically, World of Warcraft expansions are released every two years, so after 2020's Shadowlands players are due for another big story DLC this year - however, disruption from the pandemic and the lawsuit over alleged discrimination and harassment at Activision Blizzard may put back the new expansion to 2023.

We'll likely find out the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight release date on April 19 for the proper reveal, but the game's website (via Wowhead) accidentally leaked the first details of the expansion. The source code was recently updated to show "WoW Dragonflight" Base, Heroic, and Epic pre-purchases - suggesting multiple tiers for the expansion, much like Shadowlands got.

To start, "The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls 10th Anniversary Celebration Animation Eternity Memories" will air in its entirety in the summer. There will also be a figure of Uzuki Shimamura wearing her Cinderella Collection outfit. It is still in development, though the unpainted prototype will be available at Belluna Dome on April 3, 2022. That is the second and last day of the Magical Wonderland anniversary event. Uzuki is one of the tutorial idols in both Cinderella Girls and Starlight Stage, and is usually the face of the series.

Lastly, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Cinderella Girls, fans can purchase a Seiko watch. Pre-orders are open until May 8, 2022. It will come with an original box and cleaning cloth, as well as a mini acrylic stand. Purchasers can choose an idol from the series' roster of 190 for this piece of merchandise. The watch features frills and stars, which are motifs in the Cinderella Collection outfits.
