PCGamesN Saturday, July 2, 2022 11:50 AM  QuakeCon 2022 kicks off in August and it's sure to bring all manner of fun announcements, and hopefully something to match the Quake remaster of 2021. It's not the most beloved FPS game, but it looks like a Quake 4 Game Pass release might be on the cards - that's the only thing that makes sense, as Xbox Insider wants players "to preview Quake 4." Quake 4 was developed by Raven Software and released in 2005, including digitally on a fledgling Steam - where it has remained ever since. It's also readily available on GOG. And yet, for some reason, Xbox wants people to "preview" this 17-year-old game. Just to make things more confusing, multiplayer game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is also available to preview - which was recently made free on Steam. We'd suggest these games were being made backward-compatible for Xbox consoles, except Microsoft said it wasn't doing that anymore - and this is definitely the PC version of Quake 4. PCGamesN Saturday, July 2, 2022 11:28 AM  The Genshin Impact 2.8 special program has brought us a special Sumeru trailer teasing the locale's rainforests and structures along with much-awaited details on the new Genshin Impact location. One of the seven regions of Teyvat, players have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to visit Sumeru and meet all the new Genshin Impact characters who hail from there for a while - and it appears that the opportunity is getting closer. The new teaser shows just a tiny snippet of Sumeru, with lush rainforests, mountainous areas draped with greenery, giant blooming flowers, and some of the area's gorgeous structures, which feature some rather fancy glasswork. The eagle-eyed might even catch a brief glimpse at what looks to be Sumeru's desert region in the background of the closing shot. Players of Hoyoverse's free-to-play game will likely have already met several NPCs from Sumeru during their adventure, but the opportunity to actually travel there will likely be coming with Genshin Impact 3.0. Several characters from Sumeru are rumoured to be coming alongside the region's arrival, including Collei, who is believed to be one of Genshin Impact's first playable Dendro characters. PCGamesN Saturday, July 2, 2022 10:15 AM  There's a new Diablo Immortal boss in town, and her high CR prerequisite has a lot of the RPG game's players questioning when they'll be ready to take newcomer Vitaath on. The Helliquary is a raid system that functions as part of the endgame to the Diablo Immortal leveling process. Previously, players have been taking on Lassal the Flame-spun, but there's quite a jump in recommended combat rating to tackle the new demon. Vitaath, the Shivering Death arrived in Diablo Immortal on July 2, and some of the game's most hardcore players have already begun taking her down. However, even some of the fantasy game's better-geared players are balking at the recommended ratings for her higher-tier encounters. CR, or combat rating, is one of Diablo Immortal's most important stats and essentially shows at a glance how strong your character is. For comparison, Lassal's first fight has a fairly reasonable recommended CR of 420, which players should be able to reach around the time they unlock access to the fight. For Lassal's second difficulty, a much higher CR of 1,250 is recommended, while the third tier recommends 1,640 CR. PCGamesN Saturday, July 2, 2022 10:05 AM  Get your last round of original Assassin's Creed multiplayer in, because it'll be removed in September 2022. Ubisoft confirms it is ending online support for many of its old games, including many of its classic Assassin's Creed games, Far Cry 3, and the final Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell games - shutting off access to multiplayer and even DLC. Ubisoft today released a list of its classic games that it is planning to pull support from in September 2022, and the PC is particularly badly affected. The "decommissioning of online services" naturally includes multiplayer, so any active servers will be shut down. However, more upsetting is that many PC games will have "the installation and access" to DLC removed, which isn't happening with the console versions. While the remasters of Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed III are not affected, the Ezio trilogy remasters are not currently available on PC, so that's a little upsetting. It's also sad to see the final games in the Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia series in there - well, final until the much-delayed new Splinter Cell game and Prince of Persia remake come out. |

Shift codes can be used to obtain Skeleton Keys which unlock premium in-game loot such as Tiny Tina's Wonderlands legendary weapons to suit your chosen Tiny Tina's Wonderlands class and playstyle. You can redeem Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Shift codes either through the Shift tab in the in-game social menu or at the Shift Gearbox Software website - you need to navigate to the mail section to redeem the key. Redeeming a Shift code rewards you with a Skeleton Key, which you can use to unlock the Skeleton Chest for rewards. PCGamesN Saturday, July 2, 2022 7:57 AM  One of the most popular Skyrim mods is Skyrim Together, which adds co-operative multiplayer to Bethesda's RPG game. However, the Skyrim multiplayer mod has long needed an overhaul, which the Together team confirms is finally coming on July 8 - so not long to wait at all. The popular mod that turns Skyrim into a co-op game has had a few delays and controversies in the last few years, but now the Skyrim Together Reborn mod release date is confirmed and it's only days away - specifically, Friday, July 8 at 5pm BST / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT. It will be the full 1.0 release of the mod and it'll be open-source, according to the team. Among the many features in this updated version include fully synced NPCs, quests, dialogue, lockpicking, horses, and items. Werewolf or vampire forms are supported, too. A player dying no longer reloads an old save, instead players respawn nearby similar to GTA Online. The only things missing in the 1.0 release seem to be synced weather and player waypoints, and these are coming "in an update in the near future." PCGamesN Saturday, July 2, 2022 6:55 AM  It hasn't been a great week for survival game The Day Before as, in the wake of the controversy around the developer's use of unpaid workers, it's now lost the title of most-wishlisted Steam game - to the 'Cyberpunk 2077 with a cat' game Stray. Stray might be a cyberpunk game, but it's an unusual one even by their standards - aside from having to survive in a city populated entirely by robots, you're playing as a cat. That fun premise, along with an imminent release date of July 19, helped Stray rocket up the Steam wishlist charts - and it's now pounced on the top spot. Cats love high places. Before this week it was in second place to The Day Before, but now Stray is the most popular upcoming game on PC. This may have some connection to the debacle about The Day Before team's use of "volunteers" and the developer's defence of those practices, but that would be selling Stray short - it looks like an incredibly fun and unique adventure game. |
PCGamesN Saturday, July 2, 2022 6:38 AM  Minions: chances are, you already know where you stand on the cacophonous yellow critter crew - now an update to the Minecraft Minions DLC celebrates the release of Illumination's Minions: The Rise of Gru with a showdown against the Vicious 6 in the crafting game. Following on from news of upcoming Spongebob DLC, this update puts players in the shoes of titular antihero Felonius Gru. According to the Minecraft Minions update page, "you'll need to gather gadgets, Minions, and your courage" to take on superstar supervillains the Vicious Six - Jean Clawed, Nunchuck, Svengeance, Stronghold, and Belle Bottom - who will appear in their animalistic Zodiac forms from the new movie as a baboon, a cobra, a tiger, a bull, and a dragon, respectively. As a young Gru, you must do everything you can to become the ultimate super-villain. The update says that "as your devious plans take shape, you'll need to fill up your villain-o-meter by sneaking, racing, and directing your Minions in increasingly crafty ways," so it'll be interesting to see how that translates to the world of Minecraft. A Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Switch port is on the way. As part of its Anime Expo 2022 reveals, Bandai Namco confirmed the entry will show up on the system. There's no release date for when it will show up yet. However, there is a new trailer that appeared alongside the announcement. As the name suggests, this latest Sword Art Online game is based on the arc and anime season of the same name. In this new entry, Kirito is trapped inside of a new VR game. There, he makes friends with Eugeo and Alice. He eventually heads to the North Centoria Imperial Sword Mastery Academy with Eugeo as the two attempt to reunite with Alice again. The game goes over these adventures. Here's the Anime Expo 2022 Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Switch trailer. While the PS4, Xbox One, and PC version's been around since July 2020, multiple updates arrived since then. For example, in November 2021 the Blooming of Forget-Me-Not DLC appeared. The Matricaria add-on is also on the way. Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is in development for the Nintendo Switch. There's no exact release window for it yet. The DioField Chronicle stream came and went on July 2, 2022, and with it came a release date and demo announcement. In Japan, the title will appear on September 22, 2022. A demo is also on the way. That will show up on digital storefronts in Japan on August 10, 2022. It is currently known if this will be a simultaneous worldwide release date for both the game and its demo. Here's the announcement, which includes a new piece of art showing its characters. It features folks like Andrias Rhondarson, Fredret Lester, Iscarion Colchester, and Waltaquin Redditch.
In addition to the release date and demo, Square Enix teased a The DioField Chronicle Collector's Edition. In Japan, there will be a version of the game sold through its official e-Store storefront. That will include an original board game based on the video game. Pre-orders will open for it on July 7, 2022.
The DioField Chronicle Japanese release date is September 22, 2022. It will appear on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Among the many Anime Expo 2022 announcements is a trailer with an update on part 2 of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean anime adaptation. The next batch of episodes will show up on Netflix on September 1, 2022. This update will start with episode 13. It will add 12 more episodes, bringing the total up to 24. The initial batch covered episodes 1-12. Here's a look at the new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean part 2 trailer. It reveals Jolyne had herself sent to "the hole" at the Green Dolphin Street Prison. Why? A bone that could resurrect DIO is there. She's attempting to find it before Father Pucci and his allies do. In addition to Jolyne, other major cast members like Ermes, Foo Fighters (FF), and Anasui appear. If you turn on closed captions, English subtitles are available. The new anime video isn't the only Stone Ocean trailer to show up, as one appeared for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R too. Bandai Namco shared it as part of its Anime Expo 2022 events. It offered a peek at Jolyne, Ermes, and FF as they beat up on Father Pucci. For reference, FF is new to this version of the game and didn't appear in the original.

We had an idea of what the Genshin Impact 2.8 would involve, and now there's a trailer for it. It showed up as part of HoYoVerse's Special Program. In addition, the update ended with a teaser for the Genshin Impact Sumeru region. There's a Genshin Impact 2.8 trailer that teases some of the things people will do and see after the update. Things begin with a peek at Heizou, the new Anemo character. After that, a few of the characters featured in its storylines show up. Fischl will feature prominently. So will Hazuha, Mona, and Xinyan. All of them will be a part of the Summertime Odyssey. This will involve new domains and Waverider boating activities. People can also earn a free four-star Fischl for participating in the event.
The Special Program stream also offered a quick peek at Sumeru, the new region coming to Genshin Impact. Ahead of the areas shown, a new character "spoke" to the traveler. However, the screen was black for that portion and their identity wasn't shared.

The Genshin Impact 2.8 release date is July 13, 2022. It will appear one day after the Itto and Shinobu banner ends. Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. Both Diluc and Fischl will have an option to look different after the Genshin Impact update, as new outfits are on the way. Following the 2.8 patch, a new costume for each character will appear. Diluc's is called Red Dead of Night. It is actually a five-star outfit, which means it will add extra effects and a custom idle animation. Fischl's Ein Immernachtstraum. The Fischl Genshin Impact outfit will be one people can earn by playing through the Resonating Visions event. You'll search for conches around the island. However, at a later date it will be sold in the Character Outfit Shop for Genesis Crystals. (Those are purchased with real money.) Here's how the Fischl one will look.
There's also a trailer showing it off.
Next, here's the Diluc outfit. If it follows the pattern set by past five-star character costumes, it will be 1,350 Genesis Crystals initially. After a set period of the time, five-star character costumes end up costing 1,680.

New Genshin Impact outfits aren't uncommon. When they appear, there tends to be one for a four-star character that can be earned and a paid one for a five-star character. So initially, Barbara and Jean summer costumes showed up in June 2021. They were followed by Ninguang and Keqing outfits in December 2021. There are also free alternate appearances for Amber, Jean, Mona, and Rosaria. Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The 2.8 update will arrive on July 13, 2022. It will mark the appearance of a new outfit for both Fischl and Diluc. As usual, the 2.8 Genshin Impact Special Program confirmed the banners for the event This time, they are all reruns bringing back familiar five-star faces. This update will mark the return of Kazuha, Klee, and Yoimiya in Genshin Impact rerun banners, as well as the debut of Shikanoin Heizou. There will also be a Acer Palmatum Chapter: Act 1 Story Quest for Kazuha. Heizou will get his own Trap 'em By Storm Hangout Quest. Both Kazuha and Heizou are Anemo characters. Kazuha is a five-star unit who wields a sword. Heizou is a four-star who attacks with a catalyst. Both are from Inazuma. The two of them, along with a Klee rerun banner, will appear immediately after the update launches on July 13, 2022. Klee, as a reminder, is a five-star Pyro catalyst user. Heizou will show up as a featured four-star in both Kazuha and Klee's banners. Yoimiya's banner will appear in the second part of the Genshin Impact 2.8 update. She's a five-star Pyro archer.
Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. A Nintendo Switch version is on the way.
