Where To Find The Moonfang Wolf in Red Dead Online
The Moonfang Wolf is one of the rarest Legendary Animals we’ve encountered so far. We’ve found it in a couple of locations. One to the South East of the small village and one to the West of the small village. I was in the area for approximately 90 minutes running around before it appeared. It spawned during the day, normal weather, at this location.
There are a lot of people searching for the Moonfang Wolf at the moment, so be wary. I had another player show up and kill me before I could do much. Go in passive mode beforehand to at least give you time to react. Once you have the skin you can return to Gus for the reward.
We are continuing to look for other spots and any reliable methods for spawning the wolf, we’ll update the guide if we find anything new.

The new Naturalist Frontier Pursuit has you tracking down Legendary Animals. This guide on How To Find Legendary Animals In Red Dead Online provides a few basic tips to speed up the process, and hopefully save you from wasting time and money on methods that haven’t proven very fruitful.
For exact locations, we have a Red Dead Online Legendary Animal Locations Guide, this is more for tips on the process of hunting them down. Once you have unlocked The Naturalist you can speak with Harriet and purchase supplies. You will need the first Legendary Animals map and enough ammunition to take one down, we suggest filling up on ammo as you will get through it quickly. The map provides a general location for the animals, but they are still very tough to track down. Other players are currently all searching for the same thing, so it’s difficult.
How To Find Legendary Animals In Red Dead Online
When you are in the area ride around until you see this notification in the top corner. From this point, you need to be very careful. A small golden paw icon will appear on the radar once you are close, the distance is about the full size of the radar window. If you get close, and you are discovered by the creature, it will begin to flee. If it flees, it will disappear and will follow its normal respawn timer as if you had caught it. So far, this appears to be several hours.
Once you have found the Legendary Animal, you’ll want to use the special ammo and hit headshots where possible. If not possible, just shoot enough bullets until another notification pops up. It reads something like “You have successfully sedated the legendary animal”. At this point, stop firing and wait for the animal to pass out. It will collapse on the floor, allowing you to approach and take a sample.
You can purchase Legendary Animal Pheromones but I feel they are a complete waste of time. They cost $20 and merely mark the animal on your minimap, which you can achieve with 4-5 minutes of exploration in each area. They do not spawn or aid with the spawn of Legendary Animals, so I would avoid these.
We’ve found a few Legendary Animals but be warned, it’s a long and very frustrating process. We searched every area, multiple times, and have only found three so far. Whether sedated or escape, we have waited in the area for over an hour, and an in-game day, and have still not seen it respawn.

The RDR2 update Naturalist Frontier Pursuit introduces new Legendary Animals to find in Red Dead Online.
Although there are Naturalist missions that involve the Legendary Animals, they are not required in order to track them down. All you need is some ammunition and, once you have started the Naturalist Frontier Pursuit, you will be able to track down Legendary Animals and knock them out. Remember, killing animals will not reward you with any experience points for the Naturalist tree, so make sure you bring the right ammunition for the job.
Legendary Animals can be tough to track down. You can use the pheromones but they do not spawn animals, they simply tell you if one is nearby. Not worth the $20 a piece. As with all firearms, when using the sedation ammo, you want to aim for the head. After enough shots a notification will appear saying you have sedated the legendary animal.
Warning: There are likely multiple spawns for each Legendary Animal and the respawn rate appears incredibly slow. It’s difficult to be certain, as there are a lot of players hunting them down, but we camped out the Legendary Boar spot for a good couple of hours and it didn’t respawn. If you’re likely to get frustrated chasing these down, I would wait until non-peak times or even give it a few days.
If you approach a Legendary Animal and you’re too slow to sedate them, they will run away and despawn, so be quick.

Where To Find Legendary Boar (Wakpa)
The Legendary Wakpa Boar sample sells for $13.50 and awards you with 200 Naturalist Experience Points. Was found during the day, normal weather.
Can also spawn here, at the center of the red reticle.
Where To Find Legendary Ram (Gabbro Horn Ram)
The Legendary Ram sample sells for $10 and awards you with 200 Naturalist Experience Points. Was found during the day, normal weather.
Where To Find Legendary Beaver (Zizi)
We’ve found the Beaver three times, all three times the spawn location was different, but they were all on the shores of the lake.
Where To Find Legendary Elk (Ozula)
Spawn during the daytime at this location. There are two horses nearby. It wasn’t there at first, I rode away further North, it was there when I returned. It was daytime and slightly foggy. We also saw it at this same spot later in the day, around 11pm.
Where To Find Legendary Fox (Ota Fox)
Found a short distance from the waters edge. I searched here for a while, and nothing. Then it spawned. It was approximately 8PM in-game time, so it may be limited to spawning in the late evening.
Where To Find Legendary Wolf (Moonfang Wolf)
I was in this area for about 90 minutes before I found the Moonfang Wolf at this location.

Harriet Davenports first missions require you to be level 5 Naturalist. This guide on How To Increase Naturalist Rank In Red Dead Online will cover the basics of the Naturalist Frontier Pursuit so you can get on your way to earning some experience points and ranking up for the missions.
Obviously you must first unlock The Naturalist before you can do any of the associated activities. Then you need to find Harriet and purchase some supplies. You will need to purchase some Rifle Cartridges – Sedative Varmint. You can purchase the Pamphlet for the recipe if you wish but to get started, you will just need the cartridges.
How To Increase Naturalist Rank In Red Dead Online
Firstly, make sure you have your Varmint Rifle equipped and the necessary .22 Sedative ammo. You need to aim for specific targets. Do not use it on birds, rabbits, squirrels, if you use the ammo on smaller prey, it will be killed instantly. This upsets Harriet, so it’s a very good idea to avoid doing so. You’re not here to kill, you’re here to study.
Find a deer or something smaller. Hit them with a few shots and then follow them. I targeted an American Pronghorn Buck. It took about 15-20 shots total. If you let the animal escape, the sedative wears off very fast. Hit them with as many shots as possible, you will soon see the animation change. They will no longer be sprinting, they will hobble. Eventually it will drop to the floor and then you can collect your Sample. You can also buy medicines from Harriet that allows you to revive the animal after you have sedated it. Waking the animal gives you further Naturalist experience points.
Once you have some Samples return to Harriet’s location and sell them to her. This is where the bulk of the experience points comes from, you get Experience Points for each Sample sold, and a small bit of cash too..

Starting today, players will be able to dive into a new Frontier Pursuits role in Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Online: The Naturalist.
With this Frontier Pursuit, players will be able to hunt, track, and study the wonders of the animal kingdom. The Naturalist allows players to encounter majestic new Legendary Animals, explore diverse locales, and forge your own path. The choice is yours whether to use these findings to learn new skills or bolster your material gains and resources.
Accomplished conservationist Harriet Davenport is seeking out all adventurers that have an affinity for wildlife to help her track down specimens and further her extensive knowledge of these animals. To get her what she’s looking for, players can pursue these creatures in the wild and then cautiously sedate them to obtain samples for Harriet and be rewarded.
Those that obtain samples without killing will earn unique rewards. To achieve this goal, players can use the new Sedative Varmint Cartridges with the Varmint Rifle to sedate and sample. For the especially savvy Naturalists among us, one can use Animal Reviver to ensure that vulnerable animals are not left prone and endangered.
At odds with Harriet’s mission to preserve and understand wildlife is retired big game hunter Gus Macmillan, who will compensate you well for your hunting skills. Those that favor fine clothing made from animal hides over conservation can take advantage of a wide range of options from your hauls. Just be warned that Harriet will take notice of your poaching activities if you’re looking to play both sides.
By delivering skins, animal parts, and hides to Gus, one can get themselves high quality garments and other unique items that contain special benefits. These include Legendary Animal Coats and other apparel, along with Animal Trinkets that bring with them select advantages.
To get started, players can visit the Welcome Center in Strawberry to meet up with both Harriet and Gus. Players will be able to document their findings with the new Animal Field Guide, which serves as a compendium that features the abundant species found across each of the frontier’s distinct habitats. Those that track, photograph, and sample animals will be able to add their information to your Animal Field Guide and progress you along the Naturalist role.
Along the way, a range of new items, skills, and gameplay will be yours to explore. These include a new Naturalist-focused breed of Horses, bespoke accessories and clothing, and new Tonics and Tonic Recipes. New skills like Mercy Kills and the ability to pitch Wilderness Camps will also be available.
As players’ Naturalist activities progress, they’ll begin to encounter Legendary Animals in both in Free Roam and through Animal Sighting assignments. By using the Legendary Animal Map as a guide, players can discover their locations and follow information in the Animal Field Guide to locate each of them. Legendary Foxes, Cougars, Beavers, Boars, Bison, Wolves, and Elk can be discovered now, with more Legendary Animals emerging in the weeks to come.
A new Advanced Camera is also available from the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue, which allows for for increased mobility and an improved suite of camera features that contains a set of filters. New weapons also make their appearance, including a customizable Improved Bow and the Elephant Rifle, which is designed for taking down large animals.
Finally, this role brings with it a pair of new Free Roam events:
- Legendary Animal Protection – Work together to defend a Legendary Animal from poachers as it migrates across the frontier. But don’t get too close to it while doing so, or you may be seen as a potential threat.
- Wild Animal Tagging – Join up with other players to sedate and tag animals from certain species in order to obtain samples and discover a bonus Legendary Animal, while also dealing with potential poachers.

Summer Update – Wave 2 will bring with it atmospheric firework shows above each island. Players will be able to experience these shows every Sunday in August at 7pm. For an added level of detail, players can also use their own custom design pattern to give these shows a bit of personal flair.
For those who would rather catch some Zs, players will be able to take a nap in any bed placed in their home. While sleeping, players can be transported into a strange realm, where they’ll be greeted by Luna. This character provides visits to other islands as a dream, and players can share your island as a dream with others via a “Dream Address.” Just note that nothing is permanent, as nothing done is saved.
Finally,Nintendo Switch Online members can enable the new island backup service. This service automatically uploads both island and user save data online at select times. The island backup feature is separate from the Save Data Cloud functionality. Note that a function specific to Animal Crossing: New Horizons that allows players to move users and save data to another system is due to release later this year.

Starting today, Studio MDHR’s all-cartoon magical Wondergame Cuphead is now available on the PlayStation 4.
Originally released in 2017, Cuphead is a run-and-gun title that has players taking control of Cuphead and Mugman. After rolling snake eyes in the Devil’s Casino, these two must collect the “soul contracts” that signify his ownership of the souls of the Devil’s runaway debtors by midnight the next day in order to keep their souls. Along the way, these two will traverse strange worlds, acquire a number of new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets.
Gameplay is primarily centered around continual boss fights, although interspersed run-and-gun levels have also been included. Players can play the title either solo or with a friend two its two-player co-operative mode. The graphics for Cuphead are especially unique, inspired by the rubber hose style of animation used in 1930s cartoons. Animations were hand-drawn and then backgrounds were painted using watercolors, finally being colorized in Photoshop.

Discover how the development team for Planet Coaster: Console Edition tailored the experience for consoles with the inaugural developer diary for Frontier Development’s game.
Lead Designer Andrew Fletcher kicks things off in this video by saying that everything changes when porting to consoles. Since there is a lack of established conventions when you control and interact with the game.
However, Programmer Philippa Moore mentioned that the development team wanted to bring the full Planet Coaster experience to console players. To make things work best, the team looked at how they can change it with the console. Producer Lloyd Morgan-Moore said it was important that the title was fun to play, easy to access, and intuitive, all while featuring the same level of detail in construction and management.
To help achieve this goal, Lead Programmer Bradley Pollard mentioned that they added a new camera mode to Planet Coaster: Console Edition. With this camera, it makes it feel like you are almost riding the coaster while building the track.
Accessibility was also important – UI Designers Jason Ware and Jay Chua mentioned that they rebuilt everything to appeal to both newcomers and veterans. Through this method, the development team was able to build a level of consistency between the different tools.

The Wheeler Rawson & Co. Club and The Outlaw Pass return in Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Online, each with a host of special new items to unlock.
Those that upgrade to The Outlaw Pass No. 3 can get up to 40 Gold Bars, access to unique Outfits, Weapon modifications, Camp Upgrades and other perks. There are 80 Ranks to unlock in all – those looking to get in on the action have until October 19.
This week, players will be able to meet new folks along your travels in Free Roam. These include other hunters tracking prey, those that request your assistance, and those that have met an untimely demise. Cashed wagons can also be found along the pathways and roads, which may include abandoned valuables or even inebriated drivers.
This week’s Naturalist role brings with it new Specialist Role-themed and general Daily Challenges, a collection of new Clothing, new Awards, Hairstyles, Emotes, Hair Accessories, the ability to store cooked meats in your Item Wheel, and more. Note that a Weapons Locker has also been added to Camp in Story. More than 250 fixes, balancing adjustments, and general improvements have also been made to the title.
From now through August 3, all budding Naturalists can get themselves 2X payouts on Tier 3 Legendary Animal Samples and Whole Carcass Sales. In addition, completing various Naturalist aims over the next four weeks can net players the following benefits:

You need to buy a Sample Kit from Harriet in RDO to unlock Naturalist. If you’re curious on Where To Find Harriet In Red Dead Online we’ve got you covered, as the initial quest sees your character drugged and passed out in the middle of a field not far from Strawberry.
The initial quest to unlock The Naturalist Frontier Pursuit is at the Welcome Center in Strawberry. After a short cut-scene your character awakens in the middle of the nearby woods. Then the game updates your objective, informing you of your next goal. You need to purchase a Sample Kit from Harriet. Her exact location is not immediately known but if you check the map, you will find it.
Where To Find Harriet In Red Dead Online
Other NPC’s in Red Dead Online do not have a single, static location. So it is possible that Harriet moves between several pre-determined locations throughout the week. However, the icon remains identical. You will need to check your map for Hennigan’s Stead. It’s marked on your map by a small magnifying glass icon. This is what you need to look for on your map to track her down. When I found her today, she was a short distance North East of Macfarlane’s Ranch.
