PCGamesN Friday, May 3, 2024 9:55 AM  Razer is targeting ultra-competitive players with its Viper V3 Pro, a gaming mouse that, for all it does well, struggles to put enough clear ground between it and the V3 Hyperspeed, which is almost $100 cheaper. That's not to say the Viper V3 Pro isn't an incredible mouse, because it absolutely is, but on this occasion, I would suggest that Razer may have been better off releasing it before the V3 Hyperspeed. That being said, the Razer Viper V3 Pro is still on balance the best gaming mouse for esports when it comes to raw performance. Unbelievably light and designed around making movement on any surface feel like your hand is floating around your desk, gamers who are serious about improving their response time and gaming at 8KHz polling will find plenty to justify the premium price tag. Amongst other things, they'd reach over and flick the power off while I was playing The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. I didn't finish that game for 15 years. I'd flown the family nest before I braved the Eagle's Tower. Can you imagine what my friends would have done if I'd owned a Game Boy Camera? Probably, they'd have taken photos of... bottoms with it, and such. I'm aware I'm not making a great case for being a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks. The point is: I didn't have a Game Boy Camera then, so I'm delighted that the Game Boy Camera has caught on among a later generation of indie PC developers - prominent among them artist and educator Catharine Graffam, whose GB Camera Gallery: Mystery Show you can play for free in a browser. |

It's now almost seven years later but at least one person has not forgotten this missed opportunity. A fighting game modder has been tinkering with shaders to bring the comic book style of previous games to Infinite. Looks cool. |

At one point it was trending on Steam and since then it's garnered loads of positive reviews, with people saying it's unsettling and drips with atmosphere. Reader, I do think it's quite atmospheric, but I do not think it's all that unsettling. If anything, I find it a bit dull, in a way that's semi-frustrating. Am I missing the liminal space-liker bit of the brain a lot of people have? Am I an anomaly here? |

It looks like the Switch is going to get a Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition game in the near future. The ESRB "leaked" the news by rating the upcoming game. [Thanks, —R at Resetera!]
The ESRB rating for Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is "Everyone," with the board noting it features Mild Fantasy Violence and In-Game Purchases. It also notes this is a Switch title. The Rating Summary offered more details about what to expect. It noted it will pull from NES games, with two modes referenced being Speedrun and Survival.
Here is the full ESRB Rating Summary for the game:
"This is a collection of 2D challenges and platformer games in which players traverse through various modes (e.g., speedrun, survival). Several challenges involve reaching specific points, while others prompt players to defeat small enemies or survive brief battles. Some games depict pixelated characters using small swords or arrows to strike at enemies; enemies typically get stunned or disappear in a flash."

As a reminder, Nintendo actually held Nintendo World Championships in the past. The original was in 1990 and involved Rad Racer, Super Mario Bros, and Tetris. The affair returned in 2015 and involved the Ultimate NES Remix to qualify, while the event itself used Mario Kart 8, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, and Super Smash Bros for Wii U. It came back in 2017 and involved titles like Arms, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Metroid: Samus Returns, Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Odyssey, and Super Smash Bros Wii U.
There's no word yet on when Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition will come to the Switch, as Nintendo hasn't officially announced it yet.

Each season of anime there is ideally that one show that grips you and never lets go. Fortunately, the Spring 2024 anime season continues this tradition with the most underrated series that more people need to give a chance: Bartender: Glass of God.
This series is actually the second anime adaptation of the original manga from 2004-2011, following the original 2006 anime. However, as you might be able to see, that first anime adaptation happened right in the middle of the manga's serialization. As a result, this series gets the chance to provide a complete and definitive adaptation of the story.
Though I never checked out the first anime series, I feel like I don't have to now. This new series from studio Liber already grasped me in its clutches. From the moment the first monologue from bartender Sasakura begins, followed by the immediate transition into the extraordinary opening theme song from Takaya Kawasaki, I knew this was something special.
At the time I started Bartender: Glass of God, there were four episodes available. Needless to say, I binged all of them in one sitting. To be clear, I wasn't planning to do that and probably shouldn't have, since I had other series to check out. This is because the anime series has a simple, but effective premise. It involves almost episodic storylines every episode about someone who the main character encounters and serves drinks to that evening.
In some ways, it feels like the bartending version of Restaurant to Another World,. That's great for me, since it is one of my favorite anime series of all time. (At least, the first season is.) It follows a similar format during which every episode follows a character and their current conflict. It then introduces an alcoholic beverage that is relevant or helps the person in some way.
This may sound boring at a glance. However, Bartender: Glass of God keeps the viewer engaged with a mix of features. For one, the animation in this series is some of the most stunning this season. Since the show features few locations, it allows the studio to hone in on incredible detail in every scene. From the way the ice glistens to the rich color of every drink, you can see the talent of the artists involved.
In addition, the cast is terrific, and they pair well with its great writing. Sasakura has the right mix of aloof genius alongside lovable protagonist. He is helped along by other solid characters, such as Miwa and her constant (failing) shtick to recruit Sasakura to work at her grandfather's hotel.
While Bartender: Glass of God has a lot in common with a series like Restaurant to Another World, it stands out because of how it handles its cast. The characters Sasakura helps each episode aren't just there for show and a bit of emotional pathos. They are almost all recurring characters that show up episode after episode.
Every person in the cast feels like a tiny, intricate piece of the overarching puzzle of the storyline. While I can't quite see the full picture of where the series is going, I don't have to. Each episode of Bartender: Glass of God is as gripping as the last. This is even true whether or not you care about the actual drinks being served. And that is coming from someone like me, who doesn't really drink alcohol. It is one of the only series in this Spring 2024 anime season that I can't wait to keep watching. If you're looking for something a bit slower with more attention to detail, this is the series to watch.
