     Best Clicker games 2023

What are the best clicker games and idle games? Some interesting connotations come along with clicker games. Also known as 'incremental' or 'idle' games, the name betrays certain expectations: click your mouse, get a tiny reward, and repeat until you can make the process more efficient and lucrative like a lab rat pulling away at levers until it gets a tasty food pellet.

In most cases, a snowball effect accompanies your progress that makes your clicks more productive, hence the "incremental" moniker. Many games operate automatically even when you're not playing, which justifies the "idle" nickname. Clicker games manage to distill high-complexity concepts into a series of single clicks and automation, and while they might not be among the best PC games for their depth or storylines, clicker games are certainly among the most calming and relaxing games.

While blood, guts, and gore are at the core of Diablo 4, there's one thing that's the true beating heart of the age-old RPG game series: good loot. Hidden away in the bowels of nightmare dungeons, or given out as a reward for slaying the Diablo 4 world boss, sometimes it feels like worthwhile gear is hard to come by in Diablo 4 - but, in reality, the drop rates are similar to Diablo 2 Resurrected.

41 free Destiny 2 emblem codes June 2023

June 20, 2023: We added new Pride Month emblem codes to our list.

What are all the active Destiny 2 emblem codes? Emblems are essential to authentic Guardian flair. They offer an opportunity for expression among your fireteam, the random Guardians you encounter in the tower, and your opponents in activities such as Crucible. Each emblem has a specific meaning, some being ubiquitous seasonal emblems and others so rare that only a fraction of a percent of players own them.

Whether you're a hardcore collector or someone who appreciates the opportunity to express yourself through your Guardian, there's never a good reason to say no to a free Destiny 2 emblem. Here, we have several emblem codes, including some Bungie is offering simply as rewards for players grinding through Destiny 2 Season of the Deep. We've compiled them all in a list that we'll update periodically as Bungie makes more emblems available in the FPS game.

Honkai Star Rail tier list – best characters June 2023

Who is on the Honkai Star Rail tier list? Judging the best Star Rail characters is tricky. Not only is your roster subject to the whims of Hoyoverse's infamous gacha mechanics, each character's abilities are so varied that it can be difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. Lucky for you, we've put each character through their paces to provide you with the definitive Honkai Star Rail tier list.

Best Honkai Star Rail Sampo build

What is the best Sampo build? Honkai Star Rail's very own 'merc with a mouth' is none other than Sampo, an at-times lovable and shady walker of the Path of Nihility with qualities including a dollop of financial trickery and a Disney-tier rogueish nature. When he's not running his mouth, this Wind user will find himself amply applying plenty of AoE damage over time effects to your enemies, making him quite the antithesis to Dan Heng's silent type and single-target focus.

Sampo slots best into quite a number of Honkai Star Rail team comps, excelling with multiple elements at play among each of the characters. While he may only hold one of the humbler positions on our Honkai Star Rail tier list, a little bit of time spent pulling for the mouthy mercenary will be worth it, and made easier with a few hours of Stellar Jade farming and the latest Honkai Star Rail codes under your belt.

Homeworld 3 release date speculation, gameplay, and news

What is the Homeworld 3 release date? Homeworld is back and this time Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Publishing are at the helm of the project and aiming to deliver the long-awaited experience that meets fans' expectations. But, three years on from its announcement, what have we seen so far from the game and what can you expect from it once it releases?

Announced at PAX West 2019 Homeworld 3 quickly met its crowdfunding goal by one hundred million percent after Gearbox Publishing only asked for $1. But, with fans of the series waiting patiently for so long for their backer rewards and the next entry in the series, the game has seen some quiet periods and a delay, which has stalled excitement somewhat over the last year or so. But, with the release date finally on the horizon, expect to see a lot more on top of what we already know about what will hopefully be one of the best PC games of 2024.

How to drift with the Fortnite Nitro Drifter

How do you drift with the Fortnite Nitro Drifter? One of the new futuristic vehicles first introduced in Chapter 4 Season 2 is a variant of the regular cars seen in previous seasons, each with sleek, futuristic designs. However, unlike other sports cars, they don't have a nitrous tank to speed up at the press of a button, instead requiring you to drift to build up boost charge.

You can find the Fortnite Nitro Drifter everywhere on the Fortnite map, but the most accessible place to find one in the battle royale game is on the race track north of Mega City. Once you've boarded a Nitro Drifter in Fortnite, you'll soon realize it acts like a regular car in many ways, with similar durability and maximum speed stats. However, as the car's name implies, there is a way you can drift around corners and get a boost of speed, just like the karts in Mario Kart. This is how to drift with a Nitro Drifter in Fortnite.

My Dad likes to tell this story from when I was a teenager. I had grumpily asked if he could pick me and a friend up from a local park one afternoon, and he remembers us bundling into the back of his car all smelly and sweaty and terrible as teenagers so often are. But as he pulled away, he caught a snippet of our conversation that was so unusual it's the reason this seemingly normal car ride has cemented itself as a core memory. We were talking about the price of eggs. And tomatoes. And the order in which we were planting crops to ensure the greatest yield.

My poor father interrupted us, turning in his seat to ask what the hell we were talking about. "It's a game we're both playing called Harvest Moon" I scoffed in his direction. "You wouldn't understand".

Final Fantasy XVI Clive Sword

Ahead of the release of Final Fantasy XVI on June 22, 2023, Square Enix created a replica of the sword used by protagonist Clive Rosfield. It will be on display at the Tower of London in England. The sword is called Invictus and will be on display at the Royal Armories' collection of swords and armor in the White Tower from June 20, 2023 through July 19, 2023.

You can find the announcement tweet and promotional video below:

[embed]https://twitter.com/finalfantasyxvi/status/1671080819686006784?s=20[/embed]

Final Fantasy XVI is the next installment in the long-running series. The sword Invictus is one of the weapons wielded by Clive Rosfield as he sets out on a quest for revenge. A demo is immediately available for people to test out. As a reminder, its theme song is composed and performed by Kenshi Yonezu, who you might know as the artist behind some of the opening themes in for My Hero Academia and Chainsaw Man.

With sites in London, Leeds and Hampshire, the Royal Armories house the UK's collection of historical weapons and armor, including the National Collection of Firearms. They frequently hold events such as combat demonstrations and exhibitions. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Season 2 DLC Characters Coming

Alternate World Diego Brando isn't the only character joining the new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fighting game. Bandai Namco announced a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Season 2 Pass with three DLC characters. A roadmap appeared in the new Diego trailer, noting it all begins with a fighter from Golden Wind in early Fall 2023.

Here's the new Diego Brando trailer. At the one minute mark, the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Season 2 Pass comes up and new characters are teased. There are no silhouettes, which means no hints at their identities. The Golden Wind character arrives first in "early Autumn 2023." A Diamond is Unbreakable one follows in fall. The JoJolion character will show up in Winter 2023. There will also be early access to all three if you buy the pass, as well as a Haruno Shiobana outfit for Giorno Giovanna to wear.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RSz3Q_XDBM&ab_channel=BandaiNamcoEntertainmentAmerica
With Golden Wind, Leone Abbacchio is a notable omission. Especially as Giorno, Bruno, Guido, Narancia, Pannacotta, and Trish are all there. Only one JoJolion character is present in the game so far. That's Josuke Higashikata. This means the new addition could be Yasuho Hirose or Rai Mamezuku.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The alternate Diego Brando from Steel Ball Run is available as the final Season Pass 1 add-on.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch Notes for 6.41 Confirm the Echo for Pandæmonium Pandaemonium: Abyssos (Savage)

The 6.41 update is live for Final Fantasy XIV, and The Lodestone patch notes confirm this is mainly about fixing various issues in the game. Certain Voidcast Dais issues are tackled with the release, for example. More notably, it ensures everyone gets the Pandæmonium: Abyssos (Savage) Echo effect in Final Fantasy XIV.

Ahead of the update, Final Fantasy XIV might not have noticed the Echo triggering in Pandæmonium: Abyssos (Savage). This is a fairly substantial bonus. It increases the party's health by 10%. When in effect, it will also make their healing abilities 10% more effective and increase damage from their attacks and skills by 10%.

As for Voidcast Dais and its Extreme variant, two notable fixes appeared. It fixed exploits that might have made the fight a little easier. One involved Double Meteor's knockback not working properly. The other let someone use Eventide Fall or Eventide Triad to halt Golbez.

Here are the full patch notes for Final Fantasy XIV 6.41:

Battle System

Players will now receive the power of the Echo in Pandæmonium: Abyssos (Savage).

The Echo will take effect upon entering Pandæmonium: Abyssos (Savage), increasing players' maximum HP, damage dealt, and healing potency by 10%.
* Unlike other instances, the strength of the Echo will not increase in the event all party members are incapacitated.

Resolved Issues

  • The following issues have been addressed:
    • An issue in the Voidcast Dais and the Voidcast Dais (Extreme) wherein the targets of Golbez's Double Meteor standing on top of one another caused its knockback effect to function incorrectly.
    • An issue in the Voidcast Dais (Extreme) wherein Golbez executing Eventide Triad or Eventide Fall caused him to stop moving under certain conditions.
    • An issue when participating in certain Stone, Sky, Sea trials as a machinist wherein the HP of the striking dummy was lower than intended.
    • An issue wherein the effect duration noted in the help text of the variant action Variant Ultimatum was incorrect.
      * This was an issue only in the description.
    • An issue in PvP wherein the reaper action Guillotine would not inflict damage to its main target.
    • An issue in PvP wherein the machinist action Bioblaster failed to indicate that the additional effect of Analysis does not apply to its damage over time effect.
    • An issue wherein Daily Challenge: Frontline in the Duty Finder did not list Series EXP as a reward when players are PvP rank 50.
    • An issue when undertaking certain quests wherein enemies did not spawn when players were using fashion accessories.
    • An issue wherein graphics in certain cutscenes implemented in Patch 6.4 did not display properly.
    • An issue in the island sanctuary wherein furnishing glamours could not be seen by other players visiting an island.
    • An issue wherein the accessories for the Artful Afflatus and Natural Afflatus gear were incorrectly categorized as unique.
    • An issue wherein switching between gear sets that use the same equipment but are linked to different glamour plates incorrectly triggered an error message.
    • An issue wherein the error message displayed when attempting to use PlayStation®Plus free destinations after a PlayStation®Plus subscription has expired is incorrect.
    • Other minor text issues have also been addressed.

Other various issues have also been addressed.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and patch 6.41 is available now.

fate/samurai remnant release date

An official trailer for Fate/Samurai Remnant revealed that the release date for the game will be September 28, 2023. The trailer is no longer available on YouTube. It seems that the video appeared on social media and streaming services ahead of its official release. [Thanks, Wario64!]

Some early screenshots from the trailer show the playable character, who looks like a samurai with short black hair. The setting will be ancient Japan, and it looks like it will take place in the Edo era when Musashi was alive. There are new shots of the protagonist and his Saber Servant in the video, as well as of Musashi. There is also a new character, who has messy blue-green hair.

Aside from knowing that the genre of the game is an action-RPG, there's not much information about what Fate/Samurai Remnant will entail. We also know that the story will focus on a new Holy Grail War, the Waxing Moon Ritual. It appears that Musashi will appear as a Berserker in Fate/Samurai Remnant, based on a figure that appeared in the now-private trailer. This might date the game at another period from the Edo era, since Musashi might not have the fame she'd need to manifest as a Servant under normal rules.

The Fate/Samurai Remnant release date is apparently September 28, 2023. It will appear on the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam.

Gundou Mirei Nijisanji

As of June 21, 2023, Gundo Mirei will no longer be a Vtuber with Nijisanji. According to an announcement Anycolor made on its official Twitter account, she graduated as part of an agreement between her and the company. Her final stream will take place on June 21, 2023 at 11pm JST.

Anycolor will stop producing Gundo Mirei merchandise on June 22, 2023. Once all the goods available in the stores now sell out, they will no longer be sold in the shops. Her social media accounts and YouTube channel, as well as her fanclub, will become private on June 22, 2023. We will have until July 31, 2023 to send in their fan letters for her. The announcement did not reveal why the Nijisanji Vtuber Gundo Mirei graduated.

Some fans online speculated that Gundo Mirei's graduation has something to do with a comment she made while commentating on the WBC (World Baseball Classic). In March 2023, she tweeted, "Can't the person throwing the ball get a strong player out of the game by hitting their head or body?" Anycolor apologized for the comment, as did Mirei herself. As of March 23, 2023, Anycolor suspended her, as well as revealed that it corrected her several times about previous comments in the past.

Gundo Mirei will graduate from Nijisanji on June 21, 2023. All of her previous archives will go private on June 22, 2023.

June 2023 Nintendo Direct

Every year around E3 and Summer Game Fest, Nintendo holds a June Direct, and 2023 is no different. The company took to Twitter to confirm it will be holding a showcase yet again. People can tune in to watch it on June 21, 2023 at 7am PT/ 10am ET/ 4pm CEST. As usual, it will focus on new Nintendo Switch games for 40 minutes. Pikmin 4 will appear as well.

Here's the official announcement for the June 2023 Nintendo Direct.

It's been quite some time since a proper Nintendo Direct appeared. The last one to show up in March 2023 focused entirely on the Super Mario Bros Movie. We haven't seen a "real" one since February 2023. During that showcase, Nintendo announced release dates for Pikmin 4, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, and the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC volume 3 add-on. We also saw reveals for third-party games like Ghost Trick, Decapolice, Fashion Dreamer, and Samba de Amigo: Party Central.

4We actually don't know what's on horizon for Nintendo proper following Pikmin 4's July 21, 2023 debut, so this could be a chance to see what the company has planned for the rest of 2023.

The next Nintendo Direct will be held on June 21, 2023 at 7am PT/10am ET/ 4pm CEST.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Interview Discusses Its Characters

After the Metaphor: ReFantazio Japanese stream, Atlus shared a developer interview that went over its concepts and characters. The presentation featured Director Katsura Hashino, Character Designer Shigenori Soejima, and Composer Shoji Meguro. In particular, Soejima spent quite a bit of time talking about the designs for the people we'll meet in the game.

Here's what Soejima had to say about the Metaphor: ReFantazio protagonist and other characters.

With this protagonist, there was a feeling of wanting to depict somebody we haven't been able to in our past games, because of their modern settings. Overall, we wanted an androgynous and heroic protagonist — someone who looks like they're about to change the world — with a design that emphasizes their firm, resolute gaze.

Another important character is Gallica, a fairy who accompanies the protagonist. Although she's classically fantastical in many ways — and that was her core concept during development too — in terms of actual character design, we actually gave her a more modern aesthetic. Once we figured out how Gallica looks, it actually informed how all the other characters should look and feel, too. Although we still had to do a lot of exploring, Gallica certainly gave us that initial creative momentum to smoothly continue the design process for all the other characters.

Here's the full interview:

In case you missed it, here's the Japanese Metaphor: ReFantazio stream. It featured English subtitles.

Persona 5 sales

Atlus' Persona 5 games sold over 9 million copies worldwide, making up over 50% of the Persona series's sales. These figures include the vanilla game, Royal, Strikers, and Dancing in Starlight. This information appeared in the new press release introducing Persona 5 Tactica. [Thanks, Persona Central!]

Earlier in 2023, Atlus revealed that Persona 5 Royal sold over 3.3 million copies worldwide. This included both digital and physical sales. Before that, a Sega financial report announced that over 7.22 million copies of Persona 5 games had been sold, with the majority of the sales coming from outside of Japan. The number of sales likely increased due to the wider availability of the game, as well as Persona 5 Tactica revitalizing interest in the series.

Persona 5 Tactica will be the new Persona 5 title coming out later in 2023. It will be an SRPG in the style of Fire Emblem and XCOM, and it takes place in the Royal timeline. There will be first-day DLC that will introduce past Personas from the game, such as Orpheus and Izanagi. It will also feature an "anticipated character," though it's unclear who it'll be.

Persona 5 Royal is available on the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. Persona 5 Tactica will come out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam on November 17, 2023.

Genshin Impact Quest

HoYoVerse released a new Developers Discussion post on HoYoLab to discuss changes to the map and Quest system in Genshin Impact. Adjustments will include how the game tracks Quests on the map. There will also be optimizations in how the game handles prerequisite quests. Perhaps most importantly, a multi-layered map is finally coming to Genshin Impact and there'll be some way to handle "preoccupied" NPCs holding up quests.

The multi-Layered map will appear in Genshin Impact Version 4.0. This will allow players to see underground areas in regions such as Sumeru, which has an abundance of caves and tombs underneath the surface. You will be able to toggle through multiple layers through the map.

Most of the future changes have to do with the Quest system though. When you're within a certain distance of the objective, you can press Navigate to orient yourself. There will also be an auto-track function so that when you finish a Commission Quest, it'll automatically mark your next one. It will choose based on factors such as proximity. There will also be some optimizations when it comes to the red indicator dots. All of these changes to the Quest system will be after Genshin Impact Version 3.8.

However, the most important feature have to do with quests locked due to prerequisites. For example, if Dehya's Story Quest is ongoing, then you might not be able to access another Quest when she's there. A future update will add a more detailed redirection guide to resolve these issues. There will also be a two-step unlocking process for Story Quests. Right now, if you unlock Nahida's Story Quest without actually planning to start it, for example, Nahida will be "preoccupied," and thus make ongoing quests involving her unavailable.

Finally, HoYoVerse stated that it does not plan on making limited-time events a permanent fixture in the game. This is because there is not enough fleshed-out content to "support long-term gameplay experience" based on their evaluations. This was an issue that the development team discussed during launch though.

Genshin Impact is readily available for the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Review: Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life

Maintaining a proper work-life balance is incredibly difficult. This can even happen in games, with titles like Persona forcing you to determine which relationships or stats to prioritize, ones like Princess Maker showing a delicate balance between actions improving one stat while lowering another, or farming sims sometimes forcing you to think only about the most profitable choices. Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is weird in that it's more of a champion of taking a moment and appreciating the world around you. It forsakes some elements of the series to tell a tale more focused on you and your loved ones, giving you plenty of time to manage interactions with people and tending to a farm.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life begins as many installments in the series does. You're a young adult looking to start a new life following your dad's death. As such, you move to Forgotten Valley to run a farm with his best friend Takakura. From there, you live your life. However, while in past games this means being caught in what is mostly a static snapshot focused on a specific window of your life, the "A Wonderful Life" subtitle refers to the fact that this does become the story of your life. It's about you, the people you come to see as important to you, and the family you build. As such, things are also broken up to a chapter structure, covering different periods of the life of you and your family.

[caption id="attachment_968723" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Review: Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]

This means that Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life doesn't behave as a typical Bokujou Monogatari installment. You start with a cow, two plots of land suitable for farming, and go through four seasons that each last ten days. Yes, the pace is quite sped up. However, it still feels rather full. You need to water crops twice a day, rather than once. Likewise, animals need to be tended and fed twice a day, which can result in getting say milk twice per day. Since the shipping works differently, you can open a small stall in-town at a plaza portion when Van isn't there to sell the wares Takakura can't take to town to sell for you via the shipping box.

Likewise, since Forgotten Valley is so small, there's no ranch or general store. You can buy seeds from Vesta's farm or get a meal at Gavin's cafe, but everything else needs to be ordered through Takakura's notebook or Van when he's in town. (There's also more of a focus on experimenting with plants, with the ability to fuse produce or trees to get an entirely new kind of hybrid crop.) Upgrading facilities or getting new ones doesn't involve gathering stone or lumber. It means paying a fee and then enjoying your new pond or larger area.

[caption id="attachment_968724" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Review: Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]

It also means this is a game with more free time. Between tending farm in the morning and later in the afternoon or evening, you can do what you want. It's a very small village, so it's easy to find someone wandering around. This also means it can be rather easy to trigger events with characters, provided you started building up relationships. Setting up a stall in town is a good way to pass some time. You can also buy a fishing pole or dig at the ruins for artifacts. There is even an option to just… leave town for six hours. There's a lot of time, and I did always feel like there was something to do.

What I also appreciated about Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life this time around is how much Marvelous did to make it more pleasant to play. There are so many quality of life changes here, and it really puts the past Special Edition to shame. This starts when you begin the game and can completely customize your character's appearance, down to their face, preferred pronouns, and outfit.

[caption id="attachment_968725" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Screenshot by Siliconera Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]

When tending crops in the field, it feels effortless to perform actions like tilling soil, planting, watering, and harvesting, with it being possible to water over a larger space. The UI is also fantastic, making it easy to go through your tools on hand and the items in your backpack. The goat isn't as useless, and you can breed them. You don't have to waste time waiting for Van to arrive or setting up a stall for selling, as you can ship what is likely your most plentiful products (produce and animal products) from the shipping box. If you do sell to Van, you can sell eight items at once, which is a timesaver. It even feels easier to get around, given there is an extra area to cross over the river so you aren't running back and forth to the one bridge between your farm and Vesta's. Not to mention the romance elements do open up to include same-sex relationships. It's also very transparent about your own abilities. You have a stamina gauge on-screen at all times to show how you're doing, with a hunger indicator popping up when you need to restore fullness. (All of this also appears in your stat screen.) Character relationships are also very clearly shown in the menu, letting you keep track of things.

But really, the selling point is the connections. I feel so grounded when I play Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. Yes, I want to earn more money and make my farm successful. But the motivations here don't feel the same as in Stardew Valley, where I want to customize my farming experience to make it look good and be as efficient as possible. It isn't like a typical Story of Seasons game where I end up on a set routine for myself. It's a little more open-ended, even though I know there is that chapter-based "schedule" waiting for me. I'm able to take things a bit more at my own pace and savor the moment.

[caption id="attachment_968726" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Gordy Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]

Not to mention how much I appreciate how Forgotten Valley looks. The original game did have this almost historic sort of approach, with muted, sepia tones. However, I also felt like it could sometimes feel a bit empty at times, as though I was running through empty spaces that ate up valuable time. Things are a bit brighter, and it somehow also feels like the space is more effectively used. Though honestly, it might not be all that different and just feel better due to the way everything is rendered now. The town looks good, and as do the villagers living there. I especially like the new look for Gordy, though in my heart I'll always have a soft spot for the "weirder" version of Gustafa.

I've got to tell you, Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life feels like a game that arrived right when I needed it most. This is a game about redefining what matters to you. First, it's about settling into a new community and forming bonds with your new neighbors. One of them being romantic. Then it's about supporting your growing family both emotionally and via working hard on the farm. As time passes, you get to see how that influences things. It's like you are building a life while farming, rather than working a farm and taking "you" time to be social when you can.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on June 27, 2023.
