GTA podium car: here's what vehicle you can win in GTA Online

What is the GTA podium car this week? GTA Online vehicles are expensive things, so we're happy to take a spin on the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel to get a discount. Winning isn't guaranteed, sure, but it isn't out of the question, either. Look, we don't have a problem - leave it alone.

Finding out what is the GTA podium car is simple enough - it's winning it that's the challenge. You can spin the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel once daily, and each Podium Car refreshes after seven days on a Thursday. Basically, you have seven shots to get the vehicle of that given week. If you own a Penthouse, you can spin it for free, but if you don't, it's $500 a spin. Don't fret if you don't win, as you can try for something else.

You have a one in 20 chance of getting the podium vehicle, a car discount, or a mystery prize. There's a four in 20 chance of getting clothes, chips, and cash. Finally, there's a five in 20 chance of getting RP. On that note, here's everything you need to know about this week's GTA podium car.

     Starfield armor and stats explained

What is Starfield armor? Starfield's distinctive spacesuits aren't just for show – they're also your first line of protection against the universe at large. The inclusion of Starfield armor should come as no surprise to the seasoned Bethesda fan, but its sci-fi setting is an undiscovered country that might leave you lost on what to prioritize. We've combed through all the latest previews, to give you a full breakdown of armor stats, as well as early indicators of which sets to watch out for at launch.

While your character may have a sliver of built-in protection thanks to their background, Starfield armor is your best bet to ensure your survival, no matter what brand of morally bankrupt spacer crosses your path. Thanks to our ample experience in previous Bethesda RPG games, we're willing to bet that armor will be worn above a base layer of cosmetic items, and split into multiple parts to protect your head, chest, and limbs in combat. Here's what we know about Starfield armor ahead of its release date in September.

You know when the look of a game instantly captures your attention, and then you play a demo for it and it's even better? That's the journey I've been on with deckbuilding RPG Cross Blitz this week. I first heard about it last month back when word hit that it was coming to early access this year, and I was instantly taken with its chunky animal character sprites. There was something a bit Advance Wars about the look and style about its burly lion pirate captain, but just, you know, in a high seas card battle kind of setting instead of dealing with sergeants, tanks and air support. But its Steam Next Fest demo has really sunk its teeth into me this week, offering up turn-based card duels that scratch exactly the same kind of itch as Inscryption did for me a couple of years ago.

I am having an absolute riot playing Killer Frequency. It's a first-person puzzle horror where you're trying to help folks escape a rampaging murderer. Usually, when I read a game description like that, I'm already grabbing my cushion to hide behind and readying my cute puppy compilation video on a second screen, but Team17 have heavily leaned into the campy side of slasher horror with humour serving as the perfect buffer. No safety cushion or puppies needed here, folks.

Here's the set-up: You're playing as Forrest Nash, a big-time radio DJ who has found himself stuck in Small Town, Nowhere, USA. While you're working as the host for the town's local station, it turns out the police chief has only gone and gotten themselves stabbed by a serial killer. With them out of action, you're roped into acting as a stand-in 911 operator - and with the murderer still on the loose and ready to strike again, that line is going to be pretty busy.

There are a bunch of reasons I like The Tartarus Key (enough to make it our RPS Game Club pick this month), and one of them is that it's not actually scary. Like, sure, you could attach the horror tag to it on Steam if you wanted, but it's more of a costume for you to enjoy - like the family down the street who are really into Halloween and turn their suburban semi into a haunted house with a movie-quality zombie in the front yard. It's really cool and you like it on its own terms, but being frightened isn't so much the point as it is to remember you have enjoyed being frightened in the past. Also, for some reason the family won't let you out of the living room until you complete a logic puzzle involving maths.

Honkai Impact 6.7 Kira

HoYoVerse announced that the Honkai Impact 3rd Update 6.7 will release on June 29, 2023. The new update will bring a new battlesuit for Shigure Kira called Sugary Starburst, a new event called Perfect Performance, and a continuation of the story in Chapter XXXVIII (38). Details for the new update were discussed in the latest Hyperion Lounge, which also included a code for free crystals.

You can watch the Hyperion Lounge broadcast below. The special code is "STARDANCE" and appears at around the 7 minute mark.

[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsWvSXCM7NQ[/embed]

Shigure Kira is the star of this update, with her new Mech-type Ice battlesuit providing healing and damage even while not active on the battlefield. Previously shown off earlier in June 2023, Kira uses dual pistols, but switches to a sniper rifle for her ultimate. Additionally, there will be several shop events allowing for players to reduce the price of new outfits, or earn others by completing challenges.

Final Fantasy XIV Make It Rain Campaign Returns in June 2023

Square Enix announced its 2023 Final Fantasy XIV Make It Rain Campaign. It kicks off right as June is about to end. Things start on June 30, 2023. People will then have about two weeks to take advantage of the event and attempt to earn the new Wind-up Godbert Minion reward.

The requirements to take part are rather familiar. If you aren't at level 15 or higher and didn't take on "The Gridanian Envoy," "The Lomisaan Envoy," or "The Ul'dahn Envoy," you can't meet with Kipih Jakkya. If you are and did, then you can take on "A Golden Opportunity" at Ul'dah - Steps of Nald. Kipih is at X:9.4, Y:9.2. This gets the Make It Rain Campaign started for you. You'll then get 50% more MGP from the Gold Saucer and find cheapter Crystal Tower, Cuff-a-Cur, and Monster Toss prizes. Past event prizes will return too. By participating, you eventually work toward getting the Wind-up Godbert.

Here's how the Wind-up Godbert Minion looks:

The Final Fantasy XIV Make It Rain Campaign is a long-standing tradition for the MMORPG. Each year, different rewards appear. For example, the 2022 ones added a Moogle balloon and Soliciting Applause emotes.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and the Make It Rain Campaign runs June 30, 2023 through July 17, 2023.

charade maniacs review 1 switch otome game

Every once in a while, you get an Otomate and Idea Factory otome game that feels like the companies tried to attempt too much, and Charade Maniacs for the Switch is a perfect example. The setting is interesting and promising, both in terms of the futuristic nature and the characters forced to perform or face penalties while trapped in a space with a traitor. However, there's just so much happening and so many love interests that it could keep you from connecting with the cast or getting all the answers you might want. If you enjoy the company's games, especially the more futuristic ones, you may still have a good time! But it isn't as universally enjoyable for everyone in the same way as its other Switch otome games are.

Charade Maniac is set in a futuristic world in which everyone wears a bangle on their wrist that helps provide them with the most important information they need for their daily lives. Hiyori and her childhood friend Tomose are basically going about their school lives as usual, preparing for a summer break and trip. However, when the two are walking home, a strange individual captures them both.
[caption id="attachment_969380" align="alignnone" width="1200"]charade maniacs review 1 switch otome game Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]
The next thing they know, Hiyori and Tomose are in a strange place known as Arcadia. They are there with eight other individuals named Keito, Kyoya, Mamoru, Mei, Mizuki, Ryoichi, Souta, and Takumi. They're informed they'll be performing drama, earning points as they do. Fail to perform well or refuse, and they'll be erased from existence. Other penalties can affect their wellbeing and ability to essentially function, and only successful performances will earn them points that might help them break the cycle. However, one person there is a traitorous producer behind it all, and finding him could result in freedom.

Oh, and also there's this thing where it starts with Hiyori morning the "death" of an AIBO-like virtual dog and this Morpheus satellite project that crashed and burned years ago keeps coming up. Essentially, a lot of stuff comes up!

Since this has a sort of Danganronpa effect, with the threat of people losing parts or elements of themselves if they don't "perform" properly and there's a traitor, Charade Maniacs definitely has a darker tone. It's handled pretty well! I also like how that is juxtaposed against sleek, vivid character designs and modernistic environments. It suits the situation. However, someone going in should be advised that the mature elements don't just extend to the hazardous situation at hand. Some of the characters' backstories have some dark elements or abuse in them. It's not on the same level as some of Piofiore's, but it can absolutely be a more mature story.
[caption id="attachment_969383" align="alignnone" width="1200"]charade maniacs review 1 switch otome game 3 Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]
I suppose part of what kept me from really enjoying Charade Maniacs too is the lack of cohesion in the story. There are some plotholes here, which I felt really stood out in one love interest's route. In others, it could feel a bit rushed. With one romance option, it seemed like there was a bit too sudden a connection to push a sort of star-crossed lovers tale, which left me feeling a little disconnected. Not to mention there's the classic issue with these sorts of games that also involve a deeper mystery, which is that many storylines aren't going to offer satisfactory answers.

It sort of comes down to the same issue that could come up with Norn9: Var Commons. This is a recipe with too many ingredients. It's great to get to choose between nine love interests! But at the same time, the connection and opportunity to connect suffers because there are such a wide array of options. There are certain characters that feel like they got more attention than others, like Takumi or Tomose. It also means that one I might have wanted to learn more for, say, someone like Mizuki, but didn't.
[caption id="attachment_969381" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Screenshot by Siliconera Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]
What also doesn't help is that Charade Maniacs's localization felt off as I read the visual novel. There's repetitive language (at one point I counted how many sentences in a row had the word "moon" in it), incorrect verb tenses used, and generally stilted language and awkward phrasing. Which is odd, considering Idea Factory International usually does a great job with its English releases. The Switch otome games Amnesia: Later x Crowd, Birushana, and Cupid Parasite were all handled so well. It broke the immersion at certain parts. If it was happening with lines just one or two characters, say someone like Tomose or Keito, I'd consider it a personality quirk. But at times I'd wonder if there was no QA read-through to check through the translated script or the localization was rushed.
[caption id="attachment_969385" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Screenshot by Siliconera Screenshot by Siliconera[/caption]
The concept of Charade Maniacs is honestly pretty great. It's just the execution isn't quite there. The background and lore is fascinating, but so much is implemented and sometimes left there that you can't really appreciate or get all the answers you might want. Likewise, the size of the cast and pacing means some love interests' stories feel like there was more to explore or flesh out both because they deserved that extra attention and it would better explain what's going on. Combine that with a localization that doesn't feel like it's on the same level as past Idea Factory International otome games, and Charade Maniacs falls a bit flat.

Charade Maniacs will come to the Nintendo Switch on June 27, 2023.

honkai star rail luocha

Ahead of his playable debut in Honkai: Star Rail, HoYoVerse uploaded a trailer and shared character information for Luocha. He will be a five-star Imaginary Abundance character whose banner will launch on June 28, 2023. His signature Light Cone will also be available then.

The Luocha character trailer hints at his past with several shots of the mysterious casket he carries around with him. Though he says that the person inside of it is of no importance to him, it sure does not seem that way in the trailer. That's not the only odd thing about him. He's a traveling merchant, but there are some suspicious elements to his story, such as in Tingyun pointing out that he's not in the Whistling Flames' records. Despite his promises that he has no interest in illegally researching immortality, he obviously has something to do with it because he's on the Path of Abundance. We might get more answers about all these questions in either his character stories or when the main story picks up again.

You can watch the Honkai: Star Rail Luocha character trailer here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MDsyvr8SMY

Luocha's English voice actor is Craig Lee Thomas and his Japanese actor is Akira Ishida. Thomas previously appeared as Elvis on Jane the Virgin. His voice actor roles include Harvey in Octopath Traveler II and Sturm in Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. Ishida is a prominent Japanese voice actor who has appeared in a wide variety of properties. You may have heard him as Gaara in Naruto, Ayato in Genshin Impact, and Kaworu in Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development. Luocha will appear in Honkai: Star Rail on June 28, 2023.

Pokemon Spingle Milotic sneakers

The Pokemon Company and Japanese shoe brand Spingle Company are collaborating to release sneakers based on popular characters. They will be available until July 24, 2023 and will ship out some time in mid-December 2023. You can order them via the Pokemon Center Online. Since the Pokemon Center in Japan doesn't offer international shipping, overseas customers will need to make use of a proxy service. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

https://twitter.com/Pokemon_cojp/status/1672046840626159616

In total, there are six types of Pokemon sneakers available. You can get footwear that draw inspiration from Dragapult, Tyranitar, Milotic, Sylveon, Umbreon, and Lucario. Aside from the design, the shapes of the shoes vary depending on the Pokemon. The Dragapult and Tyranitar shoes are high top sneakers compared to the Milotic ones, which look closer to flats. All of the sneakers use the patterns and color schemes of the Pokemon they're based on.

You can check out the Pokemon sneakers from Spingle Company here:

[gallery columns="6" ids="969401,969400,969399,969398,969397,969396" link="file"]

The sneakers come in sizes 22.5 cm to 27.5 cm. The prices vary as well. The Sylveon, Milotic, and Lucario shoes cost 27,500 JPY ($192.45), and the Umbreon ones cost 28,600 JPY ($200.15). The Tyranitar and Dragapult ones cost 29,700 JPY ($207.85).

The Pokemon sneakers are available to order from Japan until July 24, 2023. The current generation of Pokemon, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, will get an expansion in the form of The Teal Mask. That DLC will come out in Fall 2023.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories cards header

Square Enix will release a set of playing cards that look just like the cards you use in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. Not only are the designs on the faces of the cards and colors the same, but they even retains the jagged crown-like tops. The cards cost 3,080 JPY ($21.55) and will ship out on September 30, 2023.

Square Enix faithfully recreated the cards' appearances from the game. That means that the colors of the borders depend on what the card is depicting. For example, weapons are red and worlds are a light blue. However, in a single suit, you might have around eight different colors. As well, the suit patterns are really small in the corners of the cards.

[gallery columns="2" ids="969406,969407" link="file"]

That's if you plan on actually playing with the cards, though. Because of the jagged designs, they might be difficult to shuffle. Square Enix might have designed these cards with the expectation that they're a novelty collector's item, rather than an actual deck that people would play with.

The Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories cards from Square Enix will come out on September 30, 2023. They're only in the Japanese store. Kingdom Hearts merchandise that you can buy in North America include items like Roxas's ring.

Genshin Impact Version 3.8

The final update before Genshin Impact Version 4.0, Version 3.8, has a release date. It will launch on July 5, 2023. This update will bring with it a summer event, new outfits for Kaeya and Klee, and four re-run characters. There will also be several re-run events aside from the flagship Secret Summer Paradise one.

Since Kirara debuted as part of Version 3.7, she is still only available in the Event Wishes. However, she'll be part of the Standard Wish from Version 3.8. So anyone who did not manage to get her from the Yae Miko and Yoimiya banners earlier in Version 3.7 will be able to get her then.

You can watch the trailer for Genshin Impact Version 3.8 here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHQ3u2TLkAg

You will be able to get a free Kaeya skin, as well as a free copy of Layla, during the Secret Summer Paradise event. Klee's skin will be available in the shop. Other events on the way include Perilous Expedition, Shared Sight, Overflowing Mastery, and Adventurer's Trials: Advanced. Of these, only Shared Sight appears to be new and not a re-run. Perilous Expedition is one that focuses on the Expedition mechanic and Overflowing Mastery is good for farming materials. Adventurer's Trials is more focused on games you can play with your friends.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The release date for Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact will fall on July 5, 2023.

Genshin Impact 3.8

During the Version 3.8 special program for Genshin Impact, the cast revealed that the next version will re-run four 5-star characters. Players will get the chance to pull for Eula, Klee, Kokomi, and Wanderer. There will be no new 4-star characters in Version 3.8, since it is likely the final Sumeru update before Fontaine's release.

The first half of Genshin Impact Version 3.8 will feature Eula and Klee. Klee will also have a new witch-themed outfit available in the shop. This is Eula's first re-run since November 2021, back during Version 2.3. She is one of the few Physical-oriented DPS characters in the game. Kokomi and Wanderer will appear in the second half of Version 3.8. This is Wanderer's first re-run since his debut in December 2022 (Version 3.3).

https://twitter.com/Genshin_7/status/1672215623496073217

As of the time of writing, HoYoVerse has not yet revealed the 4-star characters that will also be focus units.

As mentioned earlier, Version 3.8 is the final update of Version 3.0 of Genshin Impact. Patches after 3.8 will focus on Fontaine characters and maps. So far, the only Fontaine character we've met in Genshin Impact officially is Charlotte, who was in the Version 3.7 flagship event.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Version 3.8 will go live in Genshin Impact on July 4, 2023.
