Life by You lets you turn bushes into toilets, that's

Paradox Tectonic's Life by You is a new life game helmed by Rod Humble, who knows whereof he helms. He's a former CEO of Linden Lab, the creators of Second Life, and has worked on The Sims 2 and 3. In Life by You, he promises a game without limits; when PCGamesN sat down with Humble at GDC 2023 in San Francisco, he kept returning to this core philosophy. It runs through the game as through a stick of rock, whether it's in Paradox Tectonic's approach to the open world, mods, and player creations, or the frankly absurd number of creation tools we've been promised ahead of the Life by You release date.

The Great War: Western Front review – trench press

After hours spent poring over the front lines and filthy trenches of one of humanity's most brutal and depressing conflicts, the first thing I find myself wondering as I collect my thoughts to write our Great War: Western Front review is, "how much fun am I supposed to be having?" The grim subject matter on its own makes this the kind of strategy game one plays with a furrowed brow, but there are technical and design problems that have conspired to make this an unpleasant and frustrating experience as well.

     Minecraft console commands and cheats

Minecraft console commands are always available if hard work isn't for you. What better way to conquer the sprawling sandbox than by pulling up the command bar, typing in some words and symbols and conjuring yourself up a prissy pony with diamond armour? Some people may call this cheating, but we think of it as simply saving time and letting you get on with your amazing Minecraft project.

But how do you enter Minecraft commands? Thankfully, Minecraft console commands are wonderfully simple to use; they're as simple as inputting Minecraft seeds. When creating a new Minecraft world you'll be prompted to choose whether or not to allow cheats. After selecting yes and loading up the world, you'll need to press the "C" key to pull up the command bar, where you'll input all your cheats and commands.

Genshin Impact tier list March 2023: the best characters in 3.5

Looking for a Genshin Impact tier list? There are currently 64 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapons, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellation upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging.

Don't let the placement of the characters on our Genshin Impact tier list deter you from pulling on the next character banner. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite Genshin Impact character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite Genshin Impact character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds. Being on a lower tier in the free PC game means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine.

Best fighting games on PC 2023

What are the best fighting games on PC? It may be one of the oldest genres in gaming, but it wasn't until unintentional glitches gave birth to combos in Street Fighter 2 that the first boom took hold in arcades during the 90s. It's here that the key players would make their presence known. While charming hand-drawn sprites feature heavily in Street Fighter and The King of Fighters series, Midway would make parents panic with Mortal Kombat's fatalities. In the following years, developers Virtua Fighter and Tekken would take the genre into 3D.

Thanks to the rise of esports and, to a lesser extent, the global pandemic, we now have access to PC versions of the best fighting games. While these are some of the best PC games, they are known to be tough to learn. Still, with the rise of video tutorials, there's never been a better time to get into these highly competitive multiplayer games. So grab your favourite controller or fight stick and practice your favourite character's combos.

     The best Minecraft seeds 2023

The best Minecraft seeds cater to a number of requirements, like easy-access strongholds for speedrunning, beautiful landscapes for building, or rare structures for looting. As you can read at the bottom of this guide if you're new to them, seeds are codes that Minecraft uses to generate worlds for you, so even though new worlds are randomly generated, you can rebuild in the same ones over and over again.

Of course you can leave your world generation completely up to fate, but if you're unlucky, you could spend hours looking for a Minecraft ancient city, desert temples, your favourite Minecraft biomes, and other desirable features. Over a decade on, Minecraft remains one of the best PC games around, so you don't want to waste time on a bad seed, you'd much rather spawn straight into a stunning landscape with a Minecraft village to get the best experience possible. So, here are just a few of the best Minecraft 1.19 seeds. Keep reading to the bottom if you need some help entering these seeds in-game.

All Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian keys locations

Want to know where all of the Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian keys are? Fairly early on in the Harry Potter game, you'll find some side quests that teach you a little more about each of the collectibles. One of these quests is 'The Daedalian Keys', which you can start by talking to a Gryffindor student Nellie Oggspire. She's standing in the Transfiguration Courtyard and asks you to investigate the flying keys scattered around Hogwarts.

These are the Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian keys, and to solve the puzzle, you need to get close to them to gain their trust. Once you do, follow them to a nearby locked cabinet to claim the house token inside. As it turns out, there are more of them hidden, but with so many collectibles in the open-world game, including Demiguise Statues and landing platforms, you'll be pleased to hear that you don't need to set foot outside of the school for this one. That said, you eventually need to learn a couple of Hogwarts Legacy spells to access hard-to-reach areas. Here is how the Daedalian keys work in Hogwarts Legacy, their locations, and the reward you get for finding all of the house tokens and opening the house chest, and note that there are 16 Daedalian Keys and house tokens to find in total.

All Hogwarts Legacy Demiguise statues locations

Are you scratching your head trying to find all of the Hogwarts Legacy Demiguise statues? By far one of the more annoying collectibles in the game, it's not until you have a word with Gladwin Moon back in Hogwarts that you learn about these owl-like figurines that contain Demiguise Moons. The trick is that, during the day, you can't interact with them, but you can pinch their moon during the night.

Hogwarts Legacy locks are intricately linked with Demiguise statues and Moons, however, unlike other collectibles in the open-world game, such as the Daedalian keys, you will find Demiguise statues scattered across every region, not just in Hogwarts. There are 30 Demiguise statues to find, and the game doesn't count the two from Gladwin's quest as part of your search. We've got the details on all the Demiguise locations in the RPG game - just make sure you press F (or RT/R3 on your controller of choice) when you're on the Hogwarts Legacy map screen to wait until night-time so that you can pluck the moons from their grasp.

Slay The Spire has remained an incredibly popular deckbuilding roguelike, so it naturally invited a healthy modding community that added fun stuff to the game - goofy googley eyes included. Those developers - Table 9 Studio - are now back with their own not-modded game: an auto-battling, fantasy Chess roguelike called Tales & Tactics.

If you're a fan of The Sims 4 and your ears pricked up during this month's reveal of Paradox Interactive's upcoming life sim Life By You, you might want to check your PC's specifications before it enters early access later this year. During a chat with Paradox Tectonic's general manager Rod Humble at this year's GDC, I spoke to him about whether there was any plan to accommodate lower-end PC specifications when Life By You enters early access this September, and he answered by urging players to take its minimum PC specifications "seriously".

Rod Humble has his son to thank for his upcoming life sim Life By You. After finishing up work on two successful mobile games around four years ago, Humble was itching for something new. But he wasn't quite sure what. "I was in the kitchen talking to my son about, 'Oh, what should I do? I don't know what opportunities there are,' and he was like, 'Why don't you just pick the company you want to work at and ask them?'" And as a life-long Crusader Kings player, the answer was clear. "Okay!?" Humble says incredulously. "I can do that, I guess. So I did. I wrote to [PR manager] Troy [Goodfellow], and he knew Fred [Wester, CEO], and that was it. It was two weeks later and I met him in San Francisco and said, hey, I'd like to start a studio, and here's the way I'd like to run it. And he was like, sure, let's go for it."

So began Humble's journey to creating Life By You, his upcoming life simulator that's set to give his former pet project, The Sims, a run for its money. With The Sims 5, or Project Rene as it's currently known, still some way off, Life By You seems poised to finally give life sim fans the game they've always wanted. "I wanted to make an open world life simulator where the core tenant was freedom," says Humble. "Where players could freely play and tell their stories with minimal friction." And what was standing in the way of that freedom? Loading screens, says Humble.

I keep alternating between wanting to play more and feeling weary at the prospect. While that might sound bad, it arguably means that it's balanced an appealing strategic challenge with the grinding theme of trench warfare.

The Great War Colon Western Front is about taking the Triple Alliance or Entente through the hell years of 1914-18, or beyond. It's a purely military game about overcoming massed defences through attrition, both in localised real-time battles, and a turn-based strategic map. It's perhaps unfair to criticise it for repetition and some intermittent sense of futility, since a First World War game without them would defeat the point. But I still feel a little mixed.

You might have heard of Dark And Darker, a dungeon-crawling take on Escape From Tarkov's PvPvE that's been gaining popularity over the last few months. Alice0 enjoyed its alpha playtest last December, and it ended up becoming one of the most popular games of February's Steam Next Fest. It wasn't due to launch in full until sometime this winter, but that window's now up in the air after Dark And Darker was removed from Steam over the weekend, following a messy legal dispute between Nexon and developers Ironmace, who have been accused of "using trade secrets and copyrighted information," allegedly stolen from Nexon.

The files state that the "severity" is "high", the "version" is "2", but what about the "priority?" Bad news for fans of the run-and-gunning zombie shooter: according to the files, the priority is "none."

Final Fantasy XIV Free Login Campaign Returns Until May

People once again get a chance to return to one of Square Enix's MMORPGs for free. The company announced the Final Fantasy XIV Free Login Campaign is around until May 2023. From March 27, 2023 until May 8, 2023, people who used to play can come back and return to the game for four days. This follows one held in November and December 2022.

The protocol is largely the same from past Final Fantasy XIV Free Login Campaign promotions. You have to be a returning player who does own the game, but is now inactive for at least 30 days with no subscription. If that fits, then people can play for 96 hours for free from the day you login and return. At 11:59pm PT/2:59am ET on the last day of your free period, it ends. Depending on when you start playing, that means up to 96 hours could be available. The offer is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC.

Square Enix did note one maintenance period, which people might want to avoid if they want to be certain they get as much free play time as possible. Between April 3-4, 2023, for a full 24 hours, the game will be under maintenance. So it might be best to not start a session on March 31, 2023 through April 3, 2023, to ensure you get as much time as possible.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and the latest Free Login Campaign runs until May 8, 2023.

genshin impact mika weapons

Technically speaking, when thinking of what weapons to give Mika in Genshin Impact, you can give him literally anything you want. This is because his main utility comes from his Elemental Skill's Attack Speed boost. And since that is something you can increase via upgrading his Talents, his natural stats don't matter. However, you can give Mika weapons that enhance his ability to act as a healer on your team.

Mika's healing through his Elemental Burst scales off of his Max HP. So weapons that increase that will allow him to heal more per Normal Attack. However, his Burst is a little expensive for how much Energy he generates, which means Energy Recharge weapons are also useful. So these are the two stats that you want to keep in mind when it comes to building Mika. Some weapons you can consider are:

Black Tassel

Black Tassel is an incredibly cheap and useful option because its main stat increases his Max HP. Other weapons that boost that are ones like Staff of Homa, which should really belong with your DPS Polearm characters. Though this will lessen Mika's offensive capabilities, he's not really going to be the attacker on your team anyway. On the bright side, since Black Tassel gives a 40% damage bonus against Slimes, Mika can be your designated Slime Slayer.

Prototype Starglitter

Prototype Starglitter is yet another good F2P option since you can craft it in-game Its main stat is Energy Recharge and it provides almost 50% if you max out its level. This will help to keep Mika's Burst available off of his cooldown. He's honestly not the most reliable healer but being able to spam it whenever possible can make up for mistakes or a more aggressive play style. Prototype Starglitter's passive increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 8% after using an Elemental Skill. Since Mika won't really use that, this Polearm is a stat stick for him.

The Catch

Like Black Tassel and Prototype Starglitter before it, The Catch is a good F2P Polearm that you can get through fishing. It offers the same Energy Recharge boost as Prototype Starglitter. However, its passive focuses on Elemental Burst DMG rather than Normal and Charged Attacks. It increases his Elemental Burst DMG by 16% and Crit Rate by 6%. Like t he Prototype Starglitter, it's a stat stick for his Energy Recharge.

Favonius Lance

Like the previous two weapons, Favonius Lance's main stat is Energy Recharge, though it's significantly lower. However, Favonius Lance's real utility comes from its skill. When you land a Crit on an enemy, there's a chance of generating 6 Energy for the character. At R5, it's a 100% chance. Presently, Mika works best with attackers like Eula or Kaeya; you could also run him with a character who has better Cryo application to take advantage of Superconduct. In any case, there's a high chance that you'll have two Cryo characters in your party (including Mika), which means you can take advantage of Cryo Resonance.

The catch with Favonius Lance is that there are a large number of characters who would want to utilize it. Yun Jin, for example, is a character who would appreciate having Favonius Lance. Unlike Prototype Starglitter and The Catch, it's also only available in the gacha. If you have Favonius Lance, then Mika should use it. Otherwise, you can consider the F2P options.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Mika is a 4-star which means he's always in the gacha.

Resident Evil 4 Remake How To Equip New Attache CasesThe attaché case is arguably Resident Evil 4's most iconic element. Don't be too disappointed by that, though. The attaché cases available to unlock in the base game are all very useful in their own right.
