Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, November 27, 2024 5:50 PM Let's face it, nothing important happens in December. I'm scheduling 24 advent calendar posts this week and then spending the rest of the year eating boxes of Cadbury Mini Yule Logs Triple Chocolate. So it's no surprise that Devolver have announced their remaining slate of games aiming for release in 2024 are actually coming out in 2025. The games that slipped are Baby Steps, Skate Story, and Stick It To The Stickman. Devolver released the news with typical style, via the 15th annual Devolver Delayed awards, which you can watch below. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, November 27, 2024 5:02 PM Solitomb is a demon-fighting prototype which mixes Balatro and solitaire, from the maker of Slipways Slipways was the best grand strategy game I'd played in years, because it tossed out all the genre's micromanagement in favour of a strategy puzzle where all your exploiting, expanding, et ceteraing could be squeezed into an hour's play. That game began as a PICO-8 prototype by designer Jakub Wasilewski before being polished to a fine shine in its full release. All of which is just lead-in to talking about Solitomb, a solitaire-based dungeon crawler in which you fight demons by building hands of playing cards. It's currently - heywaitaminute - a pay-what-you-want PICO-8 prototype by designer Jakub Wasilewski where "all money earned goes towards making the bigger version possible." Like Slipways, it already seems like a frightfully clever piece of design. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, November 27, 2024 4:23 PM Announced last year, Exo Rally Championship does what the name suggests: takes the rugged, weather-battered terrain of Exo One's interplanetary journey and replaces the ponderous plot and gravitational rise-and-fall spaceship movement with a six-wheel, space buggy rally competition. Or put another way, if Exo One was Christopher Nolan's Tiny Wings, then this is Colin McRae's Interstellar. Now there's a demo, and it's substantial with a tutorial, a 10 stage rally, and three "ever-changing Daily Stages with online Steam leaderboards." |

From January 7, 2025, Aniplex will stream an episode of Puella Magi Madoka Magica every week for free. It will only stream each episode once, so it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to catch it via archives if you miss the stream.
The reason why Aniplex will start from January 7, 2025 is to match up with the original broadcast date of the anime. Back when Puella Magi Madoka Magica first started airing in 2011, it started on January 7. You'll be able to catch the streams every Tuesday from 9:00 PM JST. That would convert to 4:00 AM PDT/7:00 AM EDT. Since this will be an Aniplex Japan stream, it's highly unlikely that there will be any subtitles other than Japanese.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a psychological thriller magical girl anime from Shaft and written by Gen Urobuchi, who also worked on Fate/Zero and Song of Saya. The plot follows Madoka Kaname, an ordinary girl, who encounters a bizarre animal named Kyubey while with her best friend Sayaka Miki. Kyubey turns out to be a creature that can form contracts with girls and turn them into magical girls to fight against witches. However, Kyubey's contract is a lot more sinister than it seems. The show was highly popular for its subversive nature and visuals, and the series is still going on today in the form of movies.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is readily available on streaming services like Crunchyroll, and Aniplex will start streaming it from January 7, 2025.

Atlus and Perfect World have posted some guidelines regarding fan content and gameplay uploads for Persona 5: The Phantom X. You can read both guidelines on the official website for the game.
Both guidelines are very similar to ones for other games, such as the streaming rules and restrictions for Persona 5 Royal. When uploading content, you should make sure that you're not posting anything with spoilers, since this could rob other people's opportunity to enjoy the story on their own. Atlus and Perfect World also restrict uploading music and voice clips of the game for the express purpose of simply listening to them. You can't upload anything that may infringe on other companies' copyrights, slander or insult others, or cause damage to Atlus and Perfect World's reputations. Finally, you can't upload mod gameplay.
The following guidelines for fan content only apply to Japan. Outside of ones dealing with money, they're common sense rules that are pretty universal in fandoms though. You can't make anything socially inappropriate, or anything that insults or distresses others. Like with the above rules for social media uploads, you can't post anything damaging to the companies' reputation, or anything implying mod usage. Finally, you can't post or sell anything that uses content directly from the game.
Persona 5: The Phantom X is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC in China, Taiwan, and South Korea. The Japanese closed beta of the game will run from November 29 to December 5, 2024.

After skipping 2024, the Hatsune Miku Japan Live Tour will return for 2025 with "Blooming" as the theme of the year. It will visit more locations than last time as well.
Though there isn't a set list just yet, the official announcement stated that the Vocaloids will perform recent songs, classic pieces, and new ones, as well as songs that had been performed in domestic and international concerts.
