Since it launched in 2021, Vampire Survivors cannot be stopped. Poncle's phenomenal bullet hell roguelike is one of the most successful indies on Steam, amassing a 98% positive user rating from nearly 240,000 reviews across its lifetime. That's for good reason, too, as not only is the core experience infinitely replayable, but a collection of updates and DLC have vastly expanded what's on offer. Vampire Survivors is easily one of the best value propositions available on PC today, and now Poncle has another one for you. The studio is publishing the incredibly vibrant and kinetic Berserk or Die, which has a truly bizarre control scheme, and it's available right now.

I'm surprised by how well city builders and survival games seem to go together. In theory, the genres are mutually exclusive. Cities Skylines and Manor Lords are premised on expansion, growth, and the accumulation of wealth and industry. Survival games (Project Zomboid is my personal favorite, but I'll go to bat for The Long Dark and The Forest, too), are the total spiritual opposite: it's all about having nothing, and being grateful for even the most meager progress and gains. And yet, between Frostpunk 2 and Endzone, I've seen city builders and survival sims unified. Dark Switch, just announced during the PC Gaming Show, is a new, ambitious example of this genre hybrid. Oh, and Silent Hill's Akira Yamaoka is doing the soundtrack.

Civilization 7 makes bold changes, but it hasn't been to everyone's tastes. The new entry in the most iconic series of 4X games continues to struggle despite Firaxis' best efforts. When is The Outer Worlds 2 release date? It's been a while since Obsidian Entertainment's first space venture, but it had much of the same DNA as the Fallout series. This isn't necessarily surprising, given that Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, the creators of the Fallout series, were the game's directors. Now, we're finally getting the chance to head back to Halcyon in The Outer Worlds 2.

Skyblivion's been on track to come out in 2025 for a little while now, and now we know at least one of the places you'll be able to grab it when it arrives - GOG.com.

The massive modding project that's remaking The Elder Scrolls 4 in Skyrim's engine has been in the works for over a decade. Having not had their hard work torpedoed by Bethesda and Virtuos' own Oblivion remaster, its team are currently grafting hard to ensure they're ready when the time comes to pull the release trigger.

With the mod now confirmed by GOG to be arriving on the PC storefront in 2025, assuming it makes its current release goal, I reached out to Skyblivion project lead Kyle 'Rebelzize' Rebel and GOG themselves. We chatted about what went into the decision for the same PC storefront that hosted Fallout: London's release last year to handle this Oblivion-remaking Skyrim mod, and where progress is at on the road to release.

Review: Kabuto Park Can Be a Simple Bug-Catching Sim

Kabuto Park attempts to capture a moment. It's summer. You're a kid. You have no responsibilities and very little supervision. There are bugs everywhere, but they're friends and not fearsome. All of this makes for a perfect opportunity to obsess over the little critters and share them with your friends. While the result is a game that's a bit short and is best played in small doses due to a simple gameplay loop, finding these little guys is still quite pleasant.

You're a young child who is about to enjoy 30 days of summer vacation. How? By catching bugs. Your new friend Midori kicks off August by introducing you to the joys of exploring places like a farm, a lake, a forest, and a swamp to find unusual critters. Once you do, you can level them up and battle them in a big tournament for cash and candy. Why? Well, it's a way to spend some time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORNPGBfcHXQ&ab_channel=WholesomeGames

Kabuto Park is an incredibly simple bug-catching sim. You start out with access to one area, then need to participate in battles in the tournament to earn enough money to upgrade the boots and reach new spaces. Catching involves a timing-based system, during which pressing the confirm button on a blue patch lets you move closer for increased green area catching opportunities. You start out being able to catch two bugs per area, with a tool upgrade increasing that, but since time doesn't pass until you compete in that day's tournament battle and there are only a handful of spots to search in each location, it's not really worth investing in anything beyond a boots to reach new spots and guide to increase odds of encountering uncommon and rare bugs.

Catching and battling are also rather breezy affairs. So while you can pay in-game coins for Honey to increase the green patches during a moment when you find a bug, I didn't really find that necessary. As for battling, you basically watch as your team of three bugs pushes up against an opponent's trio. The goal is for one side to push the other out of the "ring," with the cards in the deck adding skills that can be supportive, defensive, or offensive.

However, since you can see the opponent's stats right away, it is easy to just… overpower them and win. Especially since there are certain bugs that are extremely OP, catching repeats of bugs means you can "sell" them for candy used to level ones you own up, and the early game bugs can be as good as endgame ones depending on your cards and moveset. For example, a Goliath Beetle is ridiculously strong, has a temporary buff card that keeps the team from being pushed back, and owns an incredible Overcharged Kick attack card. But then, all the rare bugs I found seemed to possess the best sorts of movesets and stats. Even if I tried to experiment with a Wind-based card deck, it just wasn't worth it to deviate from my other lineup.

Easiness aside, I will note that another issue is that Kabuto Park doesn't feel exactly perfect on a handheld gaming PC like a Steam Deck or Lenovo Legion Go. It isn't optimized for a control scheme that only uses a controller. The mouse sensitivity and speed is too high, so it's incredibly easy to overshoot with the cursor when browsing menus or making selections. Using the touchscreen is an option, but then there are some inputs where just tapping isn't enough and you then need to press the A button to confirm the actions.

I will say the fact that it is short, affordable, and easy meant I found it easy to appreciate other elements. The bug designs are quite cute. They're stylized, but still recognizable. Especially with certain ones like an Orchid Mantis. I could use bugs I really liked or found strong, since they do remain viable for a long time. There are shiny bugs, just like there are shiny Pokemon, which incentivized the whole catching process and made me want to return to areas where I'd already found every critter. Also, while it can get a little repetitive, the fact that it is brief helps keep it from getting tedious.

Kabuto Park feels like the type of game you play for about 15-20 minutes every day for a week when you need to take a minute to relax. It's never taxing. The challenge is minimal. The bugs are cute. I doubt anyone will spend longer than a few hours 100%-ing it, but it's enjoyable in moderation.

Kabuto Park is available for PCs.

FFVII Remake Heads to Xbox

Years after the release of both Final Fantasy VII Remake and FFVII Rebirth, Square Enix confirmed during the June 2025 Xbox Showcase that we'll see the game series on the Xbox Series X. It will launch in Winter 2025. It also confirmed FFXVI will show up on the Xbox Series X on June 8, 2025.

As a reminder, this is a trilogy of three games that retell the story of the original FFVII. However, rather than a straightforward remake, there are some additions and alterations. (Someone might even compare the original and remake to Evangelion and Rebuild of Evangelion.) There is also an active combat system, rather than a turn-based one, and characters who were optional in the original are fully integrated into the story here.

Here's the official announcement trailer for FFVII Remake

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFNoIUEdsEI

As for FFXVI, it is an entirely new mainline entry. It's the journey of Clive Rosfield, the Dominant of the Eikon Ifrit, over the course of years. We see the struggle Dominants go through, as well as what people known as Bearers who can use magic face. There is also continuing corruption of the world due to the Mothercrystals' Blight, and Clive is the one working alongside allies to bring an end to it all to save everyone.

And we can see the full June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase stream below:

This means that this trilogy of games will be available on all of the "big three" systems. The first entry appeared on the PS4, PS5, and PC. Square Enix confirmed a Switch 2 port in the April 2025 Nintendo Direct.  Now, the JRPG is heading to the Xbox Series X as well.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is heading to the Xbox Series X and Switch 2, and both FFVII Remake and Rebirth are on the PS5 and PC now. FFXVI is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Yes, Atlus Will Make Persona 4 Remake Revival

At the Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2025, Atlus confirmed a Persona 4 remake is happening. Like Persona 3 Reload, it features an extended title. It will be called Persona 4 Revival, and it will appear on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Here's the official reveal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8wgp9eaQRM

And here is the full 2025 Xbox Games Showcase:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_M3QwLBrg8g

There have sort of been rumblings about a Persona 4 remake for a while now. However, more credence was lent to rumors when Yuri Lowenthal brought up that he wouldn't be returning to appear as Yosuke Hanamura. He's voiced the character in every entry and spin-off. After that, the second and current Chie Satonaka voice actress, Erin Fitzgerald, also mentioned she hadn't been contacted about the project.

Persona 4 is available on the PS2, and Persona 4 Golden showed up on the Switch, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and Persona 4 Revival is in development for the Xbox Series X. Persona 3 Reload is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Game Freak Making Beast of Reincarnation for PS5, Xbox, and PC

Game Freak will release a new game called Beast of Reincarnation for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. It will debut in 2026. The game will be published by Fictions. The June 2025 Xbox Game Showcase shared the first trailer as one of the world reveals during the event, and it also involved a first gameplay trailer.

In 4026, humanity will become extinct. A blight is spreading across the land. Emma the Sealer is the one tasked with dealing with the titular beast, as well as other corrupted beings. The first trailer included a number of cinematics, as well as quite a bit of gameplay with Emma attacking various enemies. It almost looks like it could be a Soulslike sort of title, but we'll need to wait for more details to be certain about how it works.

Here's the first reveal trailer for the new Game Freak game:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-qZiMPsNz0

Game Freak does have another title coming up in 2025. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is headed to the Switch and Switch 2. That debuts on October 16, 2025.

Beast of Reincarnation will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2026.

Fortnite Robin NPC

Fortnite's Chapter 6, Season 3: Super season's main theme is superheroes. Although Superman is the star of the show, as usual, Robin's the one who's part of the introductory Island Stories quest series. This one is pretty fun, albeit difficult.

How to complete Robin's Training quests in Fortnite

The Robin's Training quest series is all about learning to fly. However, rather than using planes, you'll use a special grappling hook to do so. First, though, we need to find Robin.

Talk to Robin

Our first task is to visit Robin in the fields south of Utopia City and northeast of Demon's Domain. A map marker will bring you directly here, but you'll still need to watch out for other players.

Fortnite Robin map location
Screenshot by Destructoid

Robin has several dialogue options available for you to explore, allowing you to learn more about him and the world around you. Following a couple of chats with him, you'll get your first real objective of the quest.

Find and use a Wingshot Grappler

Your next objective is to purchase or find a Wingshot Grappler. This is a rare utility weapon that, although available in treasure chests or as player elimination drops, is much easier to obtain by purchasing it from Robin himself. It costs 600 gold bars, which, despite being pricey, is a breeze compared to venturing out into the world across multiple matches in hopes of getting lucky and finding it.

Fortnite Wingshot Grappler
Screenshot by Destructoid

Now that you have a Wingshot Grappler, it's time to put it to use. You'll need to travel 500 meters using it, which you can easily do just by using it to travel around Fortnite's map. The easiest way to complete this is to activate it near Robin's location and fly around in the air.

Damage players after landing with the Wingshot Grappler

Your last task of Robin's Training quest is to damage players within 10 seconds of landing with the Wingshot Grappler. Once you get near someone, quickly grapple somewhere before hitting them with as many hard-hitting attacks as possible. Knocking out this task will automatically complete Robin's Training quest, rewarding you with account XP to progress you through Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3's battle pass.

Farever keyart

The PC Gaming Show is all about showcasing upcoming games, with Shiro Games, the team behind Evoland, Northgard, and Wartales, making a grand return by announcing their latest title, Farever.

Farever, originally unveiled during the June 8 PC Gaming Show, is an "online cooperative action RPG set in a high-fantasy open world" set to launch in beta access later this year. It'll first release in beta access before transitioning to Early Access and, eventually, a full 1.0 release.

Right away, Shiro Games sets the stage for what to expect with Farever's character class options, revealing that you can "select from one of 10 character classes (with four planned in Early Access), specializing in tanking, support, and DPS roles while experimenting with over 100 weapons and their accompanying skills available at 1.0 launch." Shiro also reveals activities you can partake in outside of combat, highlighting the addition of crafting and gathering jobs like blacksmithing and cooking to try out outside of battle.

I'll admit it: I'm a sucker for these types of games. The only thing I like more than cutesy cartoony graphics is action mixed with casual, chill profession grinding when I need a few minutes to relax. Its combat looks smooth enough to draw me in, making me interested to see what its beta and beyond will look like.

Shiro Games also mentions that "Every weapon in Farever has unique skills associated with it, allowing players to create a customized arsenal for nearly unlimited build variety," setting up the potential for full-on, in-depth class build customization, depending on how they implement this mechanic.

My first impression of Farever is its similarities to Evoland, another of Shiro Games' titles. Although Evoland focused more on video game evolution with its transition from 2D pixellated graphics to 3D models, Farever still seems to draw some inspiration from it. I quite like Evoland, despite not yet finishing my playthrough, leaving me optimistic to see if Shiro Games has built upon their preexisting experience to create an evolved RPG with some unique twists or if it'll stay safe and remain similar to titles within the action RPG genre.

Farever's beta version will be released on PC through Steam later this year. There is currently no information available on when it'll launch in Early Access or how long it'll take to transition to a full 1.0 release.

An enemy scout camp in Dune Awakening

Obtaining an Ornithopter will be key to fast travel in Dune Awakening, but obtaining the first one can take plenty of time.

An Ornithopter is not mandatory for fast travel, but it makes your life easier. This guide will provide you with all the required steps for crafting your first Ornithopter, followed by the tools needed for fast travel.

How to craft the Ornithopter fast in Dune Awakening

A Scout Ornithopter flying in Dune Awakening

Task How to Complete
Setting up a base You can set up your base at any part of your world, but you should aim for the Eastern Shield Wall as the best location. There's one simple reason: you'll get every required resource easily from this location.
Get water, and a lot You're in a massive desert, so water isn't going to be easy to obtain. You can craft the Blood Extractor Mk2, which allows you to convert the blood of fallen enemies into water. If that's not enough, set up a Windtrap to generate water passively at your base.
Obtain Complex Machinery and Cobalt Paste You'll need 88 Complex Machinery and 134 Cobalt Paste. You'll need them first for Vehicle Fabricator and Ore Refinery, which are required for producing Ornithopter parts and also refining Aluminum. The easiest way to get Cobalt Paste is by mining Etyrite Ores. Complex Machinery can be obtained by looting inside mining outposts and enemy outposts.
Refine Aluminum Use the Medium Ore Refinery to refine Auminum Ingots. For this purpose, you'll need a lot of Aluminum Ores. You will find plenty of ores near the Wreck of Alecto at the Western Shield Wall.
Get Carbide Scraps and Diamondine Head to Mysa Tarill to find Diamondine and Carbide Scraps. These items are located in chests you come across in the ruins. To be precise, you need 7 Carbide Scraps and 14 Diamondine Dusts.
Get the remaining items Get Advanced Servoks (46), Particle Capacitors (30), and Industrial Pumps (8). Keep looting Testing Stations to get Particle Capacitors and Advanced Servoks. If you're having a hard time finding Industrial Pumps, go and loot shipwrecks or try The Crossroads Tradepost for obtaining them.

Once you obtain all the items, you can produce all the parts (based on the type of Ornithopter you're trying to create) and use a welding torch to assemble them. You'll need more items from the ones mentioned above, and you'll also know about the exact quantity. Go with the Scout Ornithopter as your first.

How to fast travel in Dune Awakening

Screenshot by Destructoid

As I said, you don't need an Ornithopter to travel fast. Instead, focus on the Touch of the Civilisation quest to regroup with Zantara. You'll also receive the A Wider World side quest, which involves chatting with an Ornithopter pilot at the Griffin's Reach Tradepost. The pilot will be willing to take you to new locations, including The Exchange.

Until you get your own Ornithopter, you'll have to head to a tradepost to find the Ornithopter pilot. The pilot also requires Solaris for their services, and will keep asking for more and more over time. Hence, putting in the hard yards and getting your own Ornithopter as early as possible in Dune Awakening is better.

A man holding a pistol to the side and looking at the camera in the promotional material of Black Ops 7.

The 2025 edition of the Xbox Showcase has just ended, bringing us a ton of insight into the future of gaming. During the closure, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer announced Black Ops 7, a new Call of Duty title set in Treyarch's long-standing subfranchise, carrying a recognizable yet new sci-fi look.

What he didn't mention, and what was confirmed by Treyarch itself, is that Black Ops 7 will have a co-op campaign developed by the great minds at Raven Software, and this just might be the solution to the woeful state of the Call of Duty series.

CoD has been in dire need of a good campaign since MW2019

Ever since Activision brought us Call of Duty: Modern Warfare—the rebooted one—in 2019, I have had high expectations of each subsequent entry in the franchise. However, time and again, I would be disappointed by subpar campaigns, poor and short stories, and what seemed to be Activision's complete ignorance of what made CoD great in the first place.

The cinematic quality of the campaigns was pretty high all around, with Treyarch usually looking to up the ante, but they never failed to reach the standard sets by MW2019 and its predecessors, particularly the old entries in the MW and Black Ops franchises.

Hell, even the likes of Infinity War had a solid campaign, one that was epic in scope and captivating enough to be worth the few hours. These new ones? Not so much.

Now, with Black Ops 7, the cinematic feel is higher than it's ever been. We saw a pre-rendered trailer that didn't resemble a CoD game in the slightest before the TVs and numbers showed up. It was different, futuristic, a breath of fresh air for the franchise. Something to break the monotony of yearly releases that couldn't be told apart, no matter how hard you tried.

The same engine, the same game, every year. But that could change.

A man holding a gun and pointing it to the side in the trailer for Call of Duty Black Ops 7.
Black Ops 7 could mark a major shift in tone and style for the franchise. Image via Activision

With these shifts comes yet another, crucial, change—a co-op campaign.

Though older CoDs had co-op systems in place through Spec Ops missions and Zombies, we never really got a proper co-op campaign and story that we could experience alongside friends. This may also mean that changes are coming to how the Call of Duty narrative is woven and executed, another way to potentially set this new title apart from the rest.

Just remember the good old days of Modern Warfare 1 and 2, Black Ops 1 and 2, and other fantastic Call of Duty games that had brutal, uncompromising, Hollywood blockbuster-style stories filled to the brim with memorable characters and moments that have stuck with all of us who experienced them. Think of that and imagine how a well-crafted story might resonate with you and your friends seeing it and living it together.

Multiplayer is one thing. Warzone and older CoDs are bleeding players, and the franchise needs a strong shake-up that brings the community back together again. There's no better way to do it than with a strong campaign crafted for two players that will let players experience a solid narrative side-by-side with their compatriots.

Then, and only then, will they have the wish to go and duke it out on the multiplayer and in alternative modes, especially if the story mode turns out to be as wicked, ambitious, and awesome as its reveal trailer implies. People need a reason to stick with the series, and this might just be it.

Fortnite Kendo in Chapter 6 Season 3 Super

Shortly after you start Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3's Shadows of the Shard quest, you'll quickly pivot to Brothers of Mask and Blade as a side mission. While the former is all about Hope and her involvement in Daigo's situation, the latter focuses on Kendo and his investigation.

How to complete Brothers of Mask and Blade quests in Fortnite

Brothers of Mask and Blade has five stages you'll need to complete before you can continue with the Shadows of the Shard quest. This mission is noticeably harder than others within Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3, so be prepared for lots of combat.

Talk to Kendo at Shogun's Solitude

Fortnite Kendo map location during Chapter 6 Season 3
Screenshot by Destructoid

Your first objective is to find Kendo at Shogun's Solitude and speak with him about the current situation. You can spot Shogun's Solitude at the bottom-left part of Fortnite's map. A quest marker will bring you to Kendo's exact location, although you may need to look around a little if someone else has spoken to him recently.

Damage players with the Spire Rifle

After talking to Kendo, your next objective is to inflict 250 damage to players using a Spire Rifle. The Spire Rifle is new to this part of Chapter 6, Season 3, and can be found inside chests, on the floor as random loot, and by eliminating other players. Whether you obtain one throughout your match is almost entirely luck-based, but you can raise your odds by opening as many treasure chests as possible.

Once you get your hands on a Spire Rifle, attack any player using it until you inflict 250 damage. One player with max shields and health is equal to 200, so you'll likely need to fight at least two or three people before finishing this task.

Defeat demon guards

After familiarizing yourself with the Spire Rifle, it's time to go fight more demons. The easiest way to find demons is to visit any Scout or Overlord Spire around Fortnite's map or by visiting Demon's Domain. Spires randomly spawn around the map, shown with a shard-like icon, while Demon's Domain is between Shogun's Solitude and Outpost Enclave.

Fortnite Demon Guard
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you approach one of these locations, your next goal is to defeat the henchmen patrolling the areas. They're not tough to beat, but you'll need to watch out for mini-bosses like Daigo and the Spires alongside other players.

Defeat Daigo or Kor

Speaking of Daigo, your next goal is to fight him or Kor, the boss who guards Shogun's Arena. You can find Daigo at Demon's Domain as its mini-boss, while Kor has replaced Shogun X at Shogun's Arena, also known as Loot Island. The boss you fight depends on whether you want to wait for Loot Island to spawn or just rush Demon's Domain and hope you get the final hit.

Destroy a Scout Spire or Overlord Spire

The fourth task of Kendo's Brothers of Mask and Blade quest is to fight a Scout or Overlord Spire. The Spires themselves are large, floating entities that, upon approaching them, will attack you with energy blasts. You'll also find demon guards patrolling the area to protect them. These Spires appear on your in-game map as shard icons, which you can identify with the map's legend.

Fortnite Scout Spire
Screenshot by Destructoid

Overall, they're not that tough to fight as long as you have some decent gear. Find a couple of good rare-grade or stronger weapons, some shield potions or medkits in case of an emergency, and a place for cover so you don't get bombarded by guards. Aside from this, you'll just need to dodge the Spire's attack, shoot, and repeat until you defeat it. I recommend going for Scout Spires rather than Overlord if you're only interested in finishing this quest, but it's up to you if you want an extra challenge.

Return to Kendo

Now that the difficult parts are over, it's time to return to Kendo. Head back to Shogun's Solitude and speak to Kendo to wrap up Fortnite's Brothers of Mask and Blade quest and progress through Shadows of the Shard.

Xbox Showcase 2025

The first week and a bit of June is full of game showcases and announcements to get fans hyped. Summer Games Fest had some fantastic highlights, with Resident Evil 9: Requiem and Lies of P: Overture shadow-dropping being two of several focal points. The June 8 Xbox Showcase, though, is on an entirely different level.

Despite Summer Games Fest having some of the most hyped-up announcements anyone could've expected, it was a slow burn to get to those points. There were plenty of trailers, but with the event spanning several hours, it took a while to get to them. Compare this to the Xbox Showcase's back-to-back trailers for massive titles like Persona 4 Revival, a new Call of Duty, and Grounded 2. It generated more hype in its first hour than SGF did in its entire runtime.

Xbox Games Showcase 2025 list
Image via Xbox

Don't get me wrong—I have highlights from both showcases. Seeing Sonic Racing CrossWorlds feature both Hatsune Miku and Minecraft within it during SGF was a hilarious, unexpected twist that had me chuckling for a while. My favorite part of the Xbox Games Showcase, on the other hand, was the announcement of Grounded 2, especially after remembering how much I enjoyed playing the first game with friends. One of those friends was also very excited about Planet of Lana 2, reminding me that I need to play it at some point.

Showcases and festivals make video gaming much more fun. While sure, I found the Xbox Showcase more interesting overall, I still had an absolute blast with SGF. My interest in these almost came close to my overwhelming joy for the Wholesome Direct this past Saturday, but that's an entirely separate conversation.

Did you watch both the Summer Games Fest and Xbox Games Showcase? Which one was your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!

Dune Awakening characters

In Dune Awakening, every piece of activity is based around your server choice, and there are certain limitations that the game doesn't explain to you.

To start your adventures, you select a server for a region before creating your character. There are plenty of servers available for all major regions, and you can also change servers when you want, but that doesn't mean you get to transfer your progress in a straightforward way, too.

How to change your servers in Dune Awakening

Changing servers is one of the easiest things to do.

  • Open your game and let it load to the main screen.
  • You'll find a Servers option right beside Continue.
  • Select a new server from the list of available options. You can choose the same region or a different one.
  • If the new server isn't at full capacity, you can join without any hassle. If it's nearly full, you must wait in a queue.

As easy as it is to change servers, one major problem is explained in the following section.

The Server tab on the main screen of Dune Awakening that allows you to pick a server
Screenshot by Destructoid

Can you transfer your character across different servers?

It's easy to change your servers. However, there's a catch: you can't transfer your character. If you have changed your server, you'll have to start fresh (unless you have created a character on that server in the past). Any progression from your other server is locked to it, and you can't carry it over in Dune Awakening.

This is where choosing your server properly becomes important. If you want to play with your friends, you'll want to communicate and join the same servers. Otherwise, your multiplayer sessions will always have some limitations.

The only exception to this rule is private servers. Private servers can be rented from three different service providers. They have some similarities with official servers but offer certain privileges, one of them being server-related progression. If you have your own private server and wish to switch to another one, you can carry all your in-game items. This is only possible when switching from one private to another private one.

If you switch from an official server to a private type, you must start from scratch. Item transfers and character progression sharing between official and private servers are strictly forbidden.

Fortnite Hope in Chapter 6 Season 3

Kicking off Fortnite's Chapter 6, Season 3: Super event is several Island Stories that set the stage for the rest of June and beyond. One of these stories is Shadows of the Shard, a quest series involving Hope and her mission to help Kendo defeat Daigo and Kor.

How to complete Shadows of the Shard quests in Fortnite

For the first few stages of Shadows of the Shard, you'll talk to Hope and Kendo to figure out Daigo's recent moves. After a few stages, you'll be locked out of the quest until you finish Kendo's Brothers of Mask and Blade mission.

Talk to Hope

Your first objective during the Shadows of the Shard quest series is to speak to Hope at Supernova Academy. Supernova Academy is a new POI in Chapter 6, Season 3: Super, located southeast of Flooded Frogs and west of Pumped Power.

Fortnite Hope and Supernova Academy map location

Once you arrive here, talk to Hope about the Mask Maker, Daigo, to hear some lore behind the story. Having this conversation will knock out the first two tasks of the quest, leading you into stage three.

Meet up with Kendo at Shogun's Solitude

Your next goal is to head over to Shogun's Solitude, located in the bottom-left corner of the map, and talk to Kendo. Speak to him about Daigo to learn about his involvement with the Spirit Realm. The hardest part is making it to this location without being eliminated by other players, so be cautious of your surroundings as you travel here.

Fortnite Kendo map location during Chapter 6 Season 3

From this point onward, you won't be able to complete Shadows of the Shard until you complete Kendo's questline, Brothers of Mask and Blade. You can either challenge yourself to finish this mission on your own or read ahead for an overview of the quest's requirements.

Completing Brothers of Mask and Blade

Brothers of Mask and Blade is a separate quest from Shadows of the Shard that you can track in your quest list. It has multiple stages, ranging from using particular weapons to damage enemies to defeating certain enemy types.

Your first objective is to damage players with the Spire Rifle. You can obtain a Spire Rifle by looting chests, finding it on the floor, or eliminating players who use it. Once you have one, use it on other players and inflict at least 250 total damage to complete the task.

Next, you'll need to defeat some Demon Guards. You can find these enemies at Demon's Domain or near spires that spawn around the map. They're easy to fight as long as you defend yourself against the spires or bosses that patrol these areas.

The third task is tough, requiring you to defeat Daigo or Kor. Kor is Shogun Island's new boss, replacing Shogun X. Daigo, on the other hand, appears exclusively in Demon's Domain right from the get-go. Which boss you fight is up to you, but make sure you have strong weapons, full shields, and some emergency consumables on hand before confronting them.

Brothers of Mask and Blade's fourth task is also slightly difficult, albeit easier than the previous one. During your matches, you'll need to destroy a Scout or Overlord Spire. Think of them as mini-bosses surrounded by henchmen. You can find their exact locations on your in-game map during your matches.

Now that you've fought the season's bosses, it's time to visit Kendo once more and wrap up the Brothers of Mask and Blade quest, letting you swap back over to Shadows of the Shard.

Report back to Hope

Fortunately, stage four was by far the most challenging part of this quest. Now that you've completed this side mission, head back to Hope and tell her everything you've learned to complete the Shadows of the Shard quest, rewarding you with a total of 100,000 XP throughout both missions.

Krypto the dog in Fortnite

I'll just come out and say it—this is one of the cutest additions Fortnite has ever seen. I mean, being able to summon a puppy to destroy buildings and eliminate anything within a 10-meter radius? Sign me up.

If you want in on the fun, too, you'll need to get your hands on a Krypto Treat. This Mythic-grade item is the key to summoning Krypto and witnessing the destructive force of the most powerful and intelligent puppy on the planet.

Where to find Krypto Treat in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3

You can find Krypto Treats inside chests, on the floor, or as player elimination drops. Since it's a Mythic item, it's much rarer than your standard common or uncommon weapons. Every batch of Krypto Treat you obtain gives you two of these items, giving you two opportunities to test its powers.

You have a few options for locating this item. You can either run around the map, open as many treasure chests as you can find, and hope you spot this item, or you can eliminate a bunch of players until one drops some treats. Regardless, it's entirely luck-based.

How to use Krypto Treat in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3

The main purpose of Krypto Treats is to summon Krypto, Superman's dog. To do this, hover over the item and hold your aim sights button to pick the exact location you want to use it. Then, you can use your fire button to launch it, throwing the treat onto the floor and summoning Krypto in its place.

As Krypto lands on the ground, he'll blast through any buildings in his way and inflict 100 damage to nearby enemies. This is especially effective in Build Mode, as he can very easily wreck anything other players build to protect themselves. Nonetheless, if you're a Zero Build player, you can still use this to damage structures and fight enemies, as long as you can predict where they'll go next.

As a Zero Build player myself, I've found some uses for this in major POIs. If someone's approaching a narrow bridge or about to enter a building, you can toss a treat near the spot and catch them off guard. Even if they dodge it, you can use this to aim more easily, as they'll likely run left or right rather than backwards. At the end of the day, you get to see a cute dog, so it's always worth the effort.
