PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 3:58 PM Dead by Daylight has never really been anything but successful. More than any other game in its genre, it's maintained a strong player base on the strength of its design fundamentals and, of course, the many crossovers with other horror media that have been added to it. From Silent Hill and Resident Evil to Alan Wake and Castlevania additions, DBD has kept the game fresh for existing players while attracting new audiences for years now. That strategy has continued to pay off with its Five Nights at Freddy's DLC, which has brought a ton of new players to the game who will now have an influx of others to join matches with as DBD offers a free weekend, starting now. PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 3:00 PM With Barotrauma, creator FakeFish looked to the murky depths of the ocean as the basis for its survival horror setting. The studio's follow-up takes place on the surface of the planet, which should, in theory, offer a slightly less oppressive world to explore. Instead, Frostrail appears to be an equally desperate experience that draws on the frozen landscapes of The Long Dark and the train shelter of Metro Exodus in its take on the first-person survival genre. This mix seems to be resounding with audiences, as it's already been added to Steam wishlists a staggering 200,000 times. MORE FROM PCGAMESN: Best FPS games, Best survival games, Best train games |
PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 2:09 PM There are a lot of games out there that mix strategy design with a fantasy aesthetic. From Against the Storm to Songs of Conquest, Warcraft 3 to Age of Wonders 4, this combination of setting and genre has always found an audience. Thrive: Heavy Lies the Crown follows suit, but, as a mix of RTS and city-building, it throws even more ingredients into the mix to make it stand out from the pack. If you want to see how it works for yourself, now's a good time. Thrive has just hit 1.0 on Steam, and, to celebrate the full version's launch, it's heavily discounted for a limited time. PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 2:00 PM System requirements are important to PC gamers. They are the guides that give what should be a reasonable expectation of how a gaming PC will perform in any given game. Whether it's just the basic minimum and recommended specs or the more demanding needs of ultra settings, system requirements are important, and the recent trend of upscaling being used in them needs to stop. Let me make it clear that this isn't an attempt to bring down the use of upscaling. Even the best gaming PC can benefit from the use of upscaling or frame generation in the right conditions. It's an incredibly useful tool that we sometimes actively use when testing the latest games. However, the likes of Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR do not belong in system requirements, especially if the game requires it at all tiers, as we've seen recently with FBC Firebreak and Hell is Us. PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 12:57 PM Road to Vostok has been on our radar for a while now. A survival FPS game reminiscent of Escape from Tarkov, Stalker 2, and Scum, it places a heavy emphasis on realism to offer an experience that makes players truly feel as if they're trying to survive in a harsh, post-apocalyptic landscape. This applies to its weapons and gear, but also, as a detailed new update video from its lone creator shows, the geography and culture of Finland, too. PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 12:26 PM Supermassive's Until Dawn is one of my all-time favorite horror games, despite my… jumpy… disposition. I also have an affinity for anything based in space. PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 12:13 PM There are a lot of Splinter Cell games, but the first may be the best of them. Though a bit rougher around the edges than sequels like Pandora Tomorrow, and lacking the fantastic soundtrack of Chaos Theory or higher fidelity of Blacklist, the 2002 original has a murky charm that makes its vision of shadowy international special operations stand out from what came after. While we continue to wait for Ubisoft's planned remake to come out, now's as good a time as any to return to the game or play it for the first time with the launch of an impressive new mod that serves as an unofficial remaster. PCGamesN Thursday, June 19, 2025 12:04 PM From the outside, Tempest Rising looks like a straightforward homage to Command and Conquer; the RTS equivalent of a boomer shooter. But Slipgate Ironworks has built a strategy game that goes beyond its influences - veteran fans of Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert can take heart from the Frank Klepacki soundtrack and clear nods to the GDI and Brotherhood of Nod, but Tempest Rising more than shines on its own terms. The campaign is fantastic. The visual style and unit mix are both great. Only the multiplayer has drawn any real criticism, owing to some restrictions on queuing and game modes. But now, there's a new Tempest Rising update which addresses even those concerns. MORE FROM PCGAMESN: Tempest Rising announcement, The best RTS games, The best PC strategy games |

Kotobukiya announced it will sell the black variant of the Kojima Productions Ludens model kit that lets someone build a figure of a female version of the company's mascot ahead of the Death Stranding 2debut. It will appear in February 2026 in Japan, about five years after its original January 2021 debut, and in March 2026 in the US. It will cost 7,480円/$69.99. While it is possible to find the older version of the kit online on places like Amazon, it can be more expensive.
This Kojima Productions mascot is a model kit along the lines of the Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girls characters. It can be assembled without any glue, though a pair of nippers is recommended for more delicate parts on the runners and tweezers for the waterslide decals. The hair, skin, and armor colors are different for this variant of the model. However, the armor design is similar, there are still two types of flags for her to hold, and she comes with one skull mask she can wear and one she can hold.

Good Smile Company confirmed it will sell the Kill la Kill bunny girl figure of Ryuko Matoi again alongside a new Satsuki Kiryuin one. Ryuko will cost ¥33,000/$284.99 ahead of her November 2025 Japanese debut and Q2 2026 US one. Satsuki will be ¥39,600/$341.99 when she launches in December 2025 in Japan and in Q2 2026 in the US.
This marks the first time Satsuki is a part of this variant collection. Her pose involves her standing tall. She's wearing a shiny black swimsuit with matching bunny ears and high heels. Her collar features a blue bow, and she has matching white cuffs on her wrists. Fabric fishnet tights are on the figure.
The return of Ryuko calls back to her original design. That first appeared back in September 2019. So she has a matching black, shiny swimsuit and bunny ears and is bent over toward the viewer. She also has a white collar around her neck and cuffs around her wrists, but her bow is red to match the stripe in her hair. A June 2022 variant of this one changed the color of the swimsuit and ears to red.

GOG updated its Preservation Program catalog to add Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition to the PC game library. It is available alone for $24.99 or in a bundle with the HD Collection that offers the first three games for $44.99. However, due to a launch sale running until July 2, 2025, both options are reduced. The game alone is $7.49, and it is $14.84 for the bundle.
Devil May Cry 4 is the installment that introduced Nero to the series, as he's the main character. After the Order of the Sword Holy Knights Captain Credo sends Nero after Dante following the iconic hero killing the leader of the group. The latest major Boo appearance is in Mario Kart World. King Boo is a playable racer. Disney Dreamlight Valley's The Storybook Vale expansion has adorable snippets and companions for you to meet. From small frogs to baby dragons, this critter list certainly takes a reward for some of the cutest video game animals I've ever seen.
However, depending on when you log into the game, you'll notice two mysterious critters: the Teal Baby Dragon and Black Pegasus. How do you find them? What's their favorite meal? Let's dive into how to find Teal Baby Dragons and Black Pegasus in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Where to find the Teal Dragon and Black Pegasus in Disney Dreamlight Valley
At the time of writing, Gameloft hasn't implemented the Teal Baby Dragon and Black Pegasus into Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale. They'll be released during the expansion's July 9 update, The Unwritten Realms.
Typically, all Baby Dragons appear in Everafter, while Pegasus spawn in Mythopia. You'll unlock these biomes after progressing through The Storybook Vale's questline. However, considering the theme of The Unwritten Realms, this may change.
![]()
The Unwritten Realms is described as a story involving a "strange world beneath the Storybook Vale." While there's little information on what this entails, there's a chance it'll reflect the usual Storybook Vale biomes but feature the Teal Baby Dragon and Black Pegasus as exclusive companions.
An alternative option is that they'll share biomes with a pre-existing companion. For example, the Teal Baby Dragon may appear in The Wild Woods but be much rarer than its blue counterpart.
Teal Dragon and Black Pegasus hangout bonuses
During Disney Dreamlight Valley's Mysteries of Skull Rock base game update, animal companion bonuses came along as a side feature, letting you level up your critters and receive special rewards. They also perform activities depending on the critter type. In The Storybook Vale's case, critters pick up Snippets while you're hanging out with them.
At least, that's what normally happens. While the Black Pegasus has this same bonus, the Teal Baby Dragon instead has a "pick up ore" bonus. Right now, it's unknown why that's the case. There's a chance Gameloft will change this to the usual Snippet bonus later. However, there is also a possibility that this is part of The Unwritten Realms' storyline. These two critter types could be especially unique, but only time will tell whether this is the case.
At the time of writing, information about Disney Dreamlight Valley's Teal Dragon and Black Pegasus is limited. We'll continue to update this story as we learn more about their locations, schedules, and potential changes in favorite foods.

Dead by Daylight requires a lot of grind and effort if you wish to have as many perks available to you as possible. Each respective Survivor or Killer has to be prestiged several times to make their perks equippable on other Survivors and Killers, which can take ages to do.
However, Behaviour Interactive offers a unique solution (or, rather, alleviation) each week via the Shrine of Secrets, a set of rotating unique perks that you can unlock and equip on other characters.
The Shrine is a bit tucked away in the menu, and not everyone is aware of it, so here is everything you need to know about it.
DBD Shrine of Secrets guide
![]()
The Shrine of Secrets can be accessed via the main menu in Dead by Daylight, right when you press "Play." Once you pick either the "Survivor" or the "Killer" gameplay option, you can access the shrine at the very bottom of the left panel via the icon of four diamonds.
Once in there, you can select one of the four available unique perks, two for Survivors, and two for Killers. Each perk costs 2,000 Iridescent Shards, which are acquired by completing milestones and challenges during regular play. Keep in mind that Iridescent Shards aren't that easy to come by, and it takes some time to secure just a few thousand, which you'd be spending all at once on these perks.
The perks in the Shrine of Secrets last for seven days before being reset every Tuesday afternoon. However, once you've made the purchase, you get to keep the perk permanently and have it unlocked for all characters in its respective category.
If you already have a perk that is in the Shrine, it will be more expensive, and you'll be able to purchase it at a higher tier. Of course, having the highest tier of a perk that appears renders it unpurchasable for you. Perks that showed up in one Shrine won't show up in the next few ones, so if you see something that is mighty good for your build, make use of the opportunity to pick it up.
On special occasions like anniversaries, Behaviour usually hosts a limited Shrine of Secrets event where specific perks are on offer for 24 hours, so keep an eye out for that.
This week's DBD Shrine of Secrets rotation (June 17)

The perks on offer as of June 17 are the following:

Murray's Costume Manor in Secret of the Mimic is lost in time, a freeze-frame of those who came and went, and others who were left behind like a forgotten memory. Distorted voices from neglected inventions echo across the facility, where audio logs tightly hold onto the Murray family story, keeping their dreams and despair alive forever.
But the Mimic can steal the voice of whoever it hears, so what can you really trust in the abandoned Costume Manor? The voice acting truly brings Edwin and the Mimic's tale to life, where we can connect and relate to their tragic story, and be fully immersed in the words shared by each Murray family member. Horror is delivered through the uncanniness of Murray's inventions, creating an uncomfortable feeling like something isn't quite right. The comforting words of Fiona are enough to continue pressing onwards, but every other voice screams at you to run from the Manor as fast as you can.
A small cast tackling multiple characters at once, the Secret of the Mimic voice actors set the bar high for future FNAF games. What's super cool is that Edwin, Fiona, and David are voiced by a real family.

You'll initially unlock the Dreamscape by meeting the Fairy Godmother for the first time during the Miracles Take Time mission. During it, you and her will enter a large treehouse within the Forgotten Lands that holds a floating island-like area.

If you've already completed this quest and are returning for another purpose, such as progressing through more of the Fairy Godmother's quests or Peter Pan's storyline, you can find this treehouse in the same spot you found it. That way, you can freely pass through it whenever you wish.
Dreamscape Treehouse location
The Dreamscape Treehouse is located in the bottom-left quadrant of the Forgotten Lands. Unlike character houses and furniture, you can't move its location, so you'll always see it in the same spot.
You can differentiate it from buildings like Peter Pan and Jack Skellington's homes using its massive night thorn bottom leading up to a partially broken wooden house. While its outside looks questionable, inside is a beautiful landscape worthy of being called a Dreamscape.
What's inside Disney Dreamlight Valley's Dreamscape?
The Dreamscape serves multiple purposes throughout Disney Dreamlight Valley's storyline, from The Fairy Godmother's missions to Peter Pan's friendship quests. If you're early in your playthrough, you'll need to travel here to collect the Orb of Remembrance. As you progress, you'll unlock additional characters who occasionally visit during their friendship missions.
Since you can't decorate the Dreamscape, it's not a go-to location to regularly visit unless you enjoy how it looks. Instead, it's a recurring storyline area that you'll explore to progress the plot before moving on to other locations. Nonetheless, keeping it in mind for the future will help you remember its existence for future quests.

Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic chop is one of the harder skills to attempt in REMATCH, but it can be an extremely effective way of getting past your opponents.
The first task is to practice the controls in the open arena. The skill has several aspects to remember, as you'll also have to control the ball's movement while triggering the correct buttons. This guide will provide you with all the necessary information required to emulate CR7 in the magical world of REMATCH.
How to perform the Ronaldo chop in REMATCH
There are two key aspects of doing well with the Ronaldo chop. The first part is to get into the Dribble Stance. Hold the L2/LT/Shift button to enter Dribble Stance. Do note that it's harder to move normally in this stance, so exit it to move fast.
Next, move left or right using the arrow keys/LS of your keyboard/controller, respectively. While driving, press the X/A/Spacebar keys on your controller/keyboard to start the dribble phase. Keep holding the L2/LT/Shift button throughout this process.

Once you have begun dribbling, let go of the L2/LT/Shift button to exit Dribble Stance. This will make your character shoot the ball past their back foot, dribbling past opponents.
Compared to other skill moves like the Rainbow Flick, you'll require more time to master this move. It's ideally suited to dribble past opponents who charge hard at you while trying to tackle and win the ball. To get the most out of the chop, wait for the opponent to commit, making it easy to dribble past them with the ball and come closer to scoring a goal.
As usual, use the open practice arena to master the technique. Personally, I am a bigger fan of the Rainbow Flick, as it's more potent in the current meta. That said, it's always good to keep a couple of different options up your sleeve so that you don't become too predictable for the opponents.

One of the hardest achievements in PEAK is the Bookworm Badge, where you need to find eight of Scoutmaster Myre's journal entries throughout the world. If you are starting off, don't try to look for them, though, as they don't appear from the get-go.
Instead, you need to meet some requirements for the first entries to appear, and only then will you be able to finally start to collect all eight.
How to find the journal entries in PEAK
There are a few things you need to do to find a journal entry in PEAK, but no matter what anyone tells you, they are actually easy to find.
For starters, you need to finish one round of PEAK and reach the top to unlock the next difficulty, Ascent. Ascent has a bunch of numbers that, upon completion, unlock different colored sashes for your characters to show off all the achievements you have completed.
After getting Ascent, you need to wait for the island to reset before one of the many journal entries will spawn. The island resets every 24 hours, and the journal entries don't appear in an Ascent run until a new island is formed.
Once you have done the above, you can find the journal, also known as a scroll, beside the first campfire at the top of the first area. You need to open it to register, and you can get four new journal entries per reset. There is currently a glitch as well, where if you reach the top, open the scroll, and then leave the game and create a new one on the same difficulty, when you get to the top of the mountain, you can find the same scroll but with a different entry in it instead.
You can only get four new entries per island, though, and there isn't a guarantee it will always appear next to a campfire. So be prepared to be in the long run for this achievement. Once you complete it, you unlock some new cosmetics.
As for the Scoutmaster himself? If you want that weirdo to spawn, you can do so in a multiplayer game by straying far away from your team and reaching the campfire, where he will appear and launch you to your death. If you have a blowgun, though, you can defeat him!
We have yet to confirm if all eight scrolls can be found by campfires currently, but we believe it to be the case. If not, we will update this article with new information in the future.

Dead by Daylight is one of the best games of its kind on the market. However, since it's 2025, there are bound to be many issues and bugs in any game, DBD included.
One such issue is related to the audio, where players will spawn with muffled sound and be unable to make out just about anything except the chase music, which just adds to the tension. This is a known problem that's been in the game for years now, but there are a few things you might try to get rid of it ASAP.
If you got smoke bombed as a killer, try to get bombed again
Yes, seriously. Getting smoke bombed as a killer in DBD muffles your sound by default, but a bug exists in the game that prevents the muffled sound from fading away with time. The seemingly only way to fix this that doesn't include leaving the match altogether is to get smoke bombed again. Players have reported that once they glitched out after the initial bomb, a second one fixed the issue.
The only problem here is that you cannot really force a Survivor to use a smoke bomb on you, so it's pretty much a dice roll.
Also, some players indicate that the muffled sound carries over between matches, which could lead to your switching to a Survivor and still having the issue instigated by the smoke bomb, which in turn can only be fixed by the following method.
Quit the game and verify files
![]()
First and foremost, you should quit the game entirely and make sure none of its processes are running in the background via the Task Manager. Then, simply boot it up again. If the issue persists, leave again and use your platform's file verification to ensure everything is in working order.
Sometimes files can corrupt inexplicably, or as a result of a major update or patch, and the file verification should re-download those needed to fix any underlying problem. However, if even this doesn't work, you should try reinstalling the game by first removing all its files and downloading everything again. Conflicts and corruptions can be tough to spot for these automated systems at times, so this could prove a more permanent solution to your woes.
If your muffled sound applies to stuff outside of DBD, check your drivers
Just as game files can be corrupted, so can drivers. These software solutions are necessary for your hardware (i.e., your motherboard's sound card) to work properly, and if they get mucked up, so will your audio. If it isn't only DBD that you're suffering the issue in, make sure your drivers are up-to-date and in working order.
To make sure you're downloading the right drivers, refer to your motherboard manufacturer's website, as they almost always contain all the relevant software in one place, including audio drivers.
