This month marks the eighth anniversary of the Nintendo Switch's release. Over those eight years, Nintendo has put…

Alta used to be a champion fighter. Now, she can't even lift her sword. After she collapses in the forest, a kindly teashop owner called Boro invites her to join him. Maybe a spell of cozy gardening, cleaning, and making tea for customers will help her feel better? But it's only an offer. You can go back into the forest at any time.

Obviously, I tried to leave. Firstly because I know how to accurately roleplay a stressed, overly devoted burnout who puts all their value in their vocation. And secondly because, come on. This game was written by Davey Wreden, the creator of The Stanley Parable. There's got to be some kind of secret to ignoring the clear invitation of the game, right?

Monster Hunter Wilds has a new update that makes copious little and large changes to the popular animal-hitting sim. As often with PC game patch notes, the changelog is a balance of mealy fare such as fixes for broken weapons, and moments of absurdity, such as addressing a problem whereby you'd hack the tail off an Ajarakan only for it to transform into another monster's appendage. Also, you'll no longer be able to cheese the Gore Magala by somehow dropping a dozen boulders on it simultaneously.

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune And Dunan Unification Wars is an unwieldy subtitle for a pair of comfy and often cheerful RPGs, but it's one you could easily see on the slipcover for a thick slab of historical fiction.

It scans. Suikoden is never so striking as when military drums sound up beneath sweet singsong flutes. When farmers and teachers and fishermen throw down rakes and books and rods to take up arms for the chance to someday farm and fish and teach again.

One of my favourite things in the entire world is the brash poetry inherent in the word 'skyscraper', and the many writing and language lessons gleaned from considering how utterly mundane that word actually feels to use. This week, the Cities: Skylines community join me in the "probably thinking too much about skyscrapers" club. Paradox's city builder has turned ten.

To celebrate, they've constructed a towering roadmap of freebies for it and Cities: Skylines 2, including new radio stations, new content, and a free-to-play Steam event for the original running March 20-24.

One of my Foundational Video Games is Mazeworld, an elder Apple Macintosh first-personifier in which you explore a Carollian landscape of blue-walled darkness and rainbow-shelled snails. I was a young slip of a boy when Mazeworld released, and prone to daymares about crocodiles floating through the ceiling. Imagine my reaction to a game in which you are immediately confronted by a slathering, bodiless Cheshire Cat, its face a grinning smear that is only visible when it's charging right at you.

I'm always looking for games that similarly hide themselves, throwing you into a chasm of occult potentiality from which anything might emerge, given the appropriate rites. Games like Nix Umbra, Death Of A Wish and now Nothing Beyond This Point, a topdown metroidvania in which you are a flaming cube surrounded by floating rods, dropped into a pixelart-scuffed void. RPS reader Mr_B recommended it in our last weekend plays thread, and I couldn't resist trying the demo.

A new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has dropped. It puts a ten-minute dent into the upcoming open world game's enigma, but the most tantalising question still remains: is Kojima using that subtitle to deliberately remind everybody of the original's most infamous scene? Bold choice if so, although not the only one. Here's the trailer, complete with familiar mechs and very familiar bandanas. See Konami, this is what happens when you pop out for five minutes to re-release Suikoden.

Over the weekend, hectic 1v1 shooter Straftat got yet more free maps in an update. The developers added eight new cramped deathzones alongside a further four maps for owners of the "maps 'n' hats" DLC, then threw in a new submachine gun and a music player for good measure. But over on the game's Discord server, amid the mine-laying mercenaries and bum-sliding shootscum, the developers also held a poll that revealed future plans. They asked players what they'd prefer: a 2v2 mode or a four-player free-for-all?

"We'll do both," said devbrother Leonard Lemaitre, "but it's a matter of which one comes first."

Will we stick to it? Probably not, but I'm interested to hear what you all consider a healthy weekly diet of news. While you ponder, here's what's hitting the digi-shelves in the next five days.

New Lego Mario Kart Set Costs $170

Nintendo and Lego announced that there is a new Lego Mario Kart set on the way, and it will cost $169.99. It will race into stores c, and it will be a worldwide release as both the US and European social media accounts showed it off. Pre-orders are already open via Lego's official storefront.

Here's the trailer that highlights how the kit will look from different angles:

https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1899083988142092785

This set will consist of 1,972 pieces. It is recommended for people ages 18 and up, due to its complexity. It can be displayed on its own or on a stand that we can build. It is also an articulated kit. Once finished, we can adjust the positioning of Mario's head and arms. Once finished, it'll be over eight inches tall and over a foot long.

The official site also noted two promotional gifts. However, they do have expiration dates. You get a Pit Crew Toad set if you pre-order before March 11, 2025. The other gift is a Ferrari 499P Hypercar set, but that offer is only in effect until March 12, 2025.

We've seen lots of Nintendo Lego sets over the years, including some Mario Kart ones. Some are based on consoles, like the upcoming Game Boy set. Of course, there are also the many sets based on the Animal Crossing series, which let you create your own village.

The Lego Mario Kart set will launch on May 15, 2025. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available on the Nintendo Switch now. A new Mario Kart game will appear on the Switch 2 console.

Death Stranding 2 Release Date Falls on June 2025

Kojima Productions revealed the release date for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach alongside a new 10-minute trailer during a special panel held at SXSW 2025. The game will come out on the PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025.

The new Death Stranding 2 trailer showed various new characters, such as the mysterious soldier Neil, his lover Lucy, and the new president of the United Cities of America (or UCA,) as well as gameplay footage offering a look at new areas and environments. The story sections of the trailer revealed more details about what happened to characters such as Fragile and Lou after the events of the first game, so those going into the game trying to avoid too much information might want to be careful when watching.

You can check out the release date trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdzIwQhYABQ

Additionally, pre-orders for the game start on March 17, 2025. The video also showed the different editions available, including a physical collector's edition including a statue of the "Magellan Man," a digital deluxe edition, and the pre-order bonuses of the regular edition.

The previous trailer for Death Stranding 2 appeared during the January 2024 State of Play and confirmed the subtitle for the game. Additionally, the game was featured during Tokyo Game Show 2024 and it confirmed the return of character Heartman and showed new footage of Tomorrow and Rainy.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will come out for the PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025. The first game is available as Death Stranding Director's Cut for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

wanderstop Images via Ivy Road and Annapurna review

Cozy gets tossed around a lot in the gaming sphere recently as both a genre and a vibe. However, I often find it is better to hear a group of players or community refer to a title a such, rather than the developer itself. This is especially true when it comes to Wanderstop, which Ivy Road and Annapurna make sure to describe as "cozy" whenever possible. It's a fascinating exploration of an individual who is going through a lot and I think its message is an important one to put out there, but many story beats and gameplay elements kept it from feeling "cozy" and "comfortable" for me. Worse, I experienced many bugs, one of which proved gamebreaking, on the PS5.

Alta is a warrior who's just experienced some major setbacks. She's tasted defeat. However, she's not giving up. She wants to be the best. She wants to be unbeatable. She heard the legendary Master Winters headed into a certain forest to retire, and so she dashes in to hopefully find her and train under her. Except… once she gets inside… she hits a wall. It's like a crushing weight hits her. She can't lift her sword, so she's forced to drop it. She collapses. She wakes at Wanderstop, a tea house where a man named Boro works. He found her and her sword, and tells her that she's just exhausted. She can keep trying to run into the forest, or she can take some time to just be and slowly recover while working at Wanderstop. Since she collapses the second she runs back into the forest, it seems like the only thing to do is try this alternative.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsyvk0ArBb4

I have a lot of feelings about Wanderstop's story. When it comes to the the forest, shop, and some supporting cast members, I absolutely loved it. The mysterious nature of things and these folks could be fascinating and funny. I absolutely was curious about what was going on with Alta. However, there are a lot of times when I don't think certain concepts were handled as well. Like there could be some moments in the script when I felt Boro, who would normally be super kind and sweet, almost came across a bit out of character and condescending. It also felt like Ivy Road really wanted to hammer some points and concepts home about the nature of accepting things, forcibly taking a break, and dealing with certain situations. While some of these moments are handled pretty well, there are others that fall flat because it just… constantly keeps coming up in early parts. I wished I had a little more time to breathe. I get what Ivy Road is trying to do, but this is a game I am playing for escapism and entertainment, not a therapy session, and I almost felt a bit uncomfortable at how often I was being told to "take it easy," "perhaps do nothing," "relax," "recover," and "savor the moment." By the time I finished the second season of time, it felt more like preaching than a more natural, relaxed narrative designed to allow me to enjoy myself. This does pull back a bit after certain events happen, but then new issues arrive to interrupt the "coziness."

Once Alta actually starts working at the tea shop, things fall into a certain pattern. You get tools off of the wall for each season and the tea gathering basket. You plant seeds in certain patterns to generate more seeds or larger plants that bear fruits that will flavor the drink. Tea bushes will automatically grow at the outskirts of the clearing. Typically, a few customers will show up per season, and you'll talk to them multiple times and take them tea to meet their needs. After they tell you the kind of drink that they want, you go to the machine in the center of the shop to pour water, pump bellows to heat it, empty that into another pot, add ingredients, then dispense it into cups for visitors (or Alta herself) upon request.

I honestly found it clunky, especially when compared to other farming and shop management. Alta only has so much room in her pockets. The mechanics for pulling out specific equipment and putting it away feels more tedious than necessary. The watering can empties incredibly quickly. The tea brewing process started out novel, but turned tedious. Particularly, two elements started to annoy me. One was the part involving hitting the bellows repeatedly while keeping an icon in a certain region as water boils, because button-mashing like that repeatedly felt unnecessary. The other involved the adding of ingredients, as the most efficient process involves basically staying on the ladder to reach certain checkpoints, then hopping off briefly to sort through Alta's pockets to check the right ingredients and throw them into the pot. I found if I didn't position her correctly, she'd sometimes just hop on the ladder again. In some cases, the ingredients didn't register properly or even toss into the infuser, though the latter issue did seem to be fixed in a pre-launch patch.

It's because of things like this that, while I like the concept behind Wanderstop, I don't always feel like it is "cozy" or "convenient" in the way that many other games in this style are. Alta is a fascinating and troubled protagonist. However, when it comes to the way she interacts with and responds to the world, I feel stressed. She's a damaged individual who is experiencing burnout and a breakdown. I feel like the portrayal of her suggests severe PSTD as well. As a result, it can often feel like even her most kind responses are sharp, curt, or even undeservedly mean at points. It set me on edge a bit when I was forced to choose replies I didn't want to, even though I completely get and understand why the character would choose one of those options. But the fact that these can be apathetic, sarcastic, or mean at certain points of the story would get to me, even more so than discovering that my responses didn't really matter.

Yup, from what I can tell, your choices in dialogue don't affect the story aside from perhaps one critical moment near the end. This sometimes comes up with the actual drinks served too, at least in the earliest parts. If what you gave the person isn't 100% right, you can offer to rebrew it or often force them to accept what you made. The story continues regardless. There are exceptions later in the latter half of the story, but typically there's no issue giving them what they didn't ask for. And if there is a request from a customer you find frustrating to make, it might be possible to even skip it and push forward in the story if it didn't come from certain people.

There are other elements that keep Wanderstop from being relaxing or soothing in the way I like my "cozy" games to be. It's very easy for Alta's pockets to fill up. I found myself stressing out because I had picked something, but then the game kept telling me that designated inventory section was full. I would have to go to a table or inside the shop to place it somewhere. The concept of hybrids when gardening and planting in specific patterns is fascinating, but I stressed out about finding the right seeds and making sure I wasn't over-harvesting since said plants only are good for getting seeds or fruits for a limited number of times. It felt like even though Boro was telling me to take my time, relax, and live in the moment, there were these inconveniences that kept me from doing exactly that. Especially since minor design changes like no inventory limitations or plant lifespans not being limited would have helped eliminate those issues.

I also got a bit frustrated when it came to certain ingredients and elements. When it comes to Alta drinking the tea, only the base flavor seems to count and adding extras, such as Timothy's Jam, doesn't result in a new memory due to the extra ingredient. There's another element of it tied to the trinkets Alta might collect from tidying up the clearing and those disappearing that disappointed me, as I was hoping they'd remain decorative milestones to make the shop more homey. I honestly despise the pluffin birds too! Sometimes, I would leave an item somewhere on purpose, only to look down when I'm somewhere else and see one of the birds following me, carrying it. That wasn't what I needed! My pockets were full and I wanted that item left where it was! Worse, at one point I made a complicated cup of coffee for a customer. Part of that involved multi-step brewing. I took the cup out from under the dispenser and put it on a table next to me for a few minutes to drain the machine so I could start the second spot. I turned back around and... the drink was gone and cup dirty. I actually checked with the developer to report this as a bug, like I had many other issues that arose during my playtime. It turns out that is intended. If you put down a drink for a second, something you might need to do since you can't pocket it like other items, a pluffin might just appear out of nowhere, drink it, and potentially force you to rebrew a cup depending on how much you have left or its complexity.

Of course, what made me most uncomfortable is that Wanderstop is one of those games that made me inexplicably motion sick. Which is weird, since that usually doesn't happen when I play third-person perspective games. It's something about the camera direction and angle, especially when you go inside the tea shop to brew tea or do various tidying up options. It made me uncomfortable and dread heading inside to accomplish some tasks, and like I'd need to make Alta move slower to better deal with it.

There are some minor and major technical problems to consider with Wanderstop at launch, at least on the PS5. Starting in what I can best describe as the second season, whenever I'd give tea or an item to someone, Alta would turn around so she wasn't facing them. It was really quite strange, especially since the story segment might start with her facing them, then she'd immediately turn around. If she was talking to someone who was able to just wander about, this also would lead to glitches that had character models getting too close. Whenever I'd try to play flowers in the hanging pots, even if transplanted from a mini pot, Alta would just end up hitting it instead. The weirdest issue is sometimes the ladder would "get away from me" if Alta was on the second floor, finished tossing stuff in the pot, and was going to hop on to rotate and head to open the valve to let the tea flow into the final pot. If you shake a bird to get the item it is holding, sometimes that item will just… be floating in midair once the bird drops it. One time, I had to go down to the first floor and climb up from there. But another, the ladder actually rotated back to where it was supposed to be after it happened? It was a weird bug.

Wanderstop tells a fascinating story and very much captures the stress, anxiety, and pressures that come from being trying to meet all these expectations and not fail. Especially when you try to stop doing that. However, I often found myself wishing this was a short animated series or movie, rather than a game. Alta's journey and many of the characters around her are fascinating, and I love watching them. But this ended up being an unexpectedly stressful, inconvenient, and broken sim at some times, and that got in the way of my enjoying everything. I believe there are many people who will love and identify with Wanderstop! I just found it clunky, broken on the PS5 at launch, and far from cozy.

Wanderstop will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 11, 2025. A demo is available on Steam

The loading screen in Blue Lock: Rivals

Even though flows in Blue Lock: Rivals don't unlock new moves or some crazy bonuses, the right one can give you an edge that ultimately decides the game. To dominate the pitch right from the start, follow our Blue Lock: Rivals flow tier list below.

Blue Lock: Rivals Flow Tier List

A tier list of all flows in the Blue Lock Rivals Roblox experience made via TierMaker that goes as follows: S tier: Soul Harvester, Dribbler, Prodigy A tier: Awakened Genius, Snake, Wildcard, Crow, Demon Wings B Tier: Trap, Genius, Chameleon C tier: King's Instinct, Gale Burst, Monster, Puzzle D tier: Ice, Lightning
Image via TierMaker

Dribbler and Prodigy are the best offensive flows in Blue Lock: Rivals because of the increased shot power, speed, and curved shots or extended dribbles they give. Snake is the best defensive flow, and it is best paired with the Aiku style. Awakened Genius is great for all positions because it gives you bonuses of several other flows.

Demon Wings is basically made to be paired up with Shidou style. Crow, Wildcard, Monster, and Puzzle are great on both ends. They let you start counter-attacks, and if you get to the opponent's penalty area first or use one of the pro moves, you are almost guaranteed to score.

Gale Burst is a weaker variant of DW that is useful for all styles and positions. King's Instinct is excellent for midfielders who like to break the opponent's attacks with precise tackles and then start counters with long balls. Ice is lackluster unless you pair it up with the Sae style.

Genius, while it doesn't grant you any buffs, it lets the rest of your team use their flows for longer, and that can decide close matches. It requires only about 40% of your flow bar to be used while granting the rest of your team around 120% in total.

Blue Lock: Rivals Flow List

Below is a list of all flows in Blue Lock: Rivals based on their rarity tier, along with all of their effects:

World Class Flows

Flow Effect Best for Tier

• Great for all roles, but its randomness can do you over. A
Demon Wings flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Your shots go off more quickly.
• Your headers have increased power.
• You jump 50% higher.
• Only good when paired with Shidou or Nagi Styles. A
Trap flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • You get a speed boost and increased shot power right after receiving the ball.
• -50% to Trap & Dash cooldown.
• Made to be paired up with Nagi style. B
Chameleon flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • -25% reduced ability cooldowns while the flow is active.
• You have increased movement speed.
• Decent for all positions and styles. B

Epic Flows

Flow Effect Best for Tier
Genius flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Grants everyone on your team 30% of their flow bar. • Best for GKs and coordinated teams.
• With more than one on the team, you will almost always have at least some flow bar.
B
King's Instinct flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Your shots are more powerful.
• The opponents you successfully tackle stay on the ground for longer.
• Great for MFs and more defense-oriented players. C
Gale Burst flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Increases your stamina regeneration.
• Your shots are released more quickly.
• Decent for all positions. C
Monster flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Decreases your dribble cooldown and removes the speed reduction that you normally get when acquiring the ball. • Very good for MFs for getting the ball out of your half and decent for STs and Wingers. C

Rare Flows

Flow Effect Best for Tier
Ice Flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Increases the shot strength of the player you pass to. • Excellent for GKs and when paired up with Sae. D
Puzzle flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Increases your speed with and without the ball. • Good for all roles equally. C
Lightning flow from Blue Lock: Rivals Roblox experience • Increases your shot strength. • Excellent for strikers but still situational because of the base shot strength increase the best Styles give you. D

How to Use, Reroll, and Store Flows in Blue Lock: Rivals

You use your flow by pressing T on the keyboard when you have enough flow bar, which will be visible on your screen. On use, the bar will either drain slowly or completely deplete, depending on your current flow.

To reroll your flow, click on the flow button at the bottom of your screen while in the lobby. Each roll costs 2000 cash or one flow spin if you have some either from redeeming codes or from completing quests.

In Blue Lock: Rivals, you can also unlock two additional flow storage slots, but they cost Robux, so I wouldn't recommend buying them until more flows are added.

That's it for our Blue Lock: Rivals flow tier list. If you are also looking for the best flow to take onto the field with you, check out our Blue Lock: Rivals style tier list as well.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: an enemy soldier slides down a flight of concrete stairs.

Even as someone who's not the most ardent fan of the film franchise, I was very impressed with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Its action-adventure storytelling, interesting puzzles, and Troy Baker's take on the titular explorer made it a standout game.

If there's one downside to it, it's that it's currently an Xbox exclusive. While it has been confirmed that The Great Circle will be coming to PlayStation 5, we haven't yet had a release date. However, that date could arrive any day now, as the Entertainment Software Rating Board has now rated the game for the Sony console.

https://bsky.app/profile/wario64.bsky.social/post/3ljz6e25dte2b

This was spotted by known leaker Wario64 (thanks, Insider Gaming), which points to the entry on the ESRB website. While there's still no confirmation on when it actually drops for PS5, we can assume that MachineGames or Bethesda will announce it soon.

Contains blood and gore

The ratings board describes it as "an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Indiana Jones on an adventure to uncover a mystery while defeating villains." It classes it as Teen for its depiction of blood and gore, drug references, mild language, and, of course, violence.

This also represents what Microsoft has been promising; that games exclusive to the Xbox console and Windows PCs would be making their way to more rival systems, in this case, the PS5. Other Xbox exclusives being ported to PlayStation include Doom: The Dark Ages, while many will also hope that Avowed will eventually make its way to the console.

Although the hype has died down now, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle received a lot of praise since its release in December 2024. Our own Steven Mills gave it a solid 8 out of 10, calling it an "authentic Indiana Jones experience" with a "high level of polish."

As long as you've got the Kate and Berry Sweet Treats Fabricator 3000, you'll be able to make a total of 22 different types of Candy. You'll need to get your Cooking skills to the maximum of 10 before you can cook them all.

For most Candy recipes, you can cook either a Single Serving or a Family Size, which is enough for four servings. However, Jellybeans can also be cooked in a Party Size, which is enough for eight servings. It's usually cheaper to cook in bulk, but you have to eat all the servings before the Candy goes off.

Here are all of the Candy recipes, what you'll need to make them, and how much they cost to make:

How to make Shocked Candy in The Sims 4

If you've got your Mischief skill up to level 5, then you'll also be able to make a Shocked version of each of the above-mentioned Candies. The cost and ingredients are exactly the same, so there's no reason not to if you need a Playful boost.

Any Sim who eats a Shocked Candy will receive a Playful +3 Moodlet called "Shocked Giggles" that lasts for three hours, which is excellent for practicing the Comedy skill (or any skill) that is boosted while feeling Playful. Just try not to be too playful, or it's entirely possible that your Sim can die from laughing too hard.

Any Sim who eats Shocked Candy can also do an excellent imitation of Zeus by going outside and using the "Bring the Lightning" option. This will cause lightning to strike the ground nearby, which is equal parts hilariously chaotic and terrifying.

Cooking in The Sims 4

Cooking is one of the most basic life skills, and it's no different for your Sims in The Sims 4. It's nearly impossible to survive as a Sim without the cooking skill, so you'll have to level it up in every playthrough.

As part of the Business and Hobbies expansion pack, a new feature has been added that allows you to create and pass down Family Recipes. These family recipes are not only delicious (most of the time), but they come with the added perks called Special Touches.

These gameplay features are an amazing addition to The Sims 4, particularly if you spend a lot of time taking part in Legacy Challenges. When you're 10 generations into a challenge and still using recipes created by the original starting Sim, it's a nice touch that really adds to the immersion.

Here's everything you need to know about creating Family Recipes, and how to unlock additional Special Touches, in The Sims 4

How to create Family Recipes in The Sims 4

If you own the Businesses and Hobbies expansion for The Sims 4, you'll find that interacting with any cooking item will bring up a new option to "Create Family Recipe". Selecting this will bring up a menu (shown above) that allows you to select a base recipe, an additional ingredient, and a Special Touch.

What you make here is up to you, and it doesn't even need to be particularly appetizing. You can combine a Chocolate Cake with Avocado if the mood takes you, and your Sim is unlikely to complain at the taste or turn it down. You can make a maximum of 10 Family Recipes, as you cannot make more than one recipe using the same Special Touch.

As part of the Businesses and Hobbies expansion, a new item called "Grammy's Family Recipes" was added to the Build and Buy menu, costing 85 Simoleons. This item works like any cooking station, and you can create Family Recipes directly from it.

When you've created a Family Recipe and cooked it for the first time, you can prepare it from the "Family Recipes…" option when interacting with a cooking item. You'll also be able to teach it to another member of the family, or even a family friend if you don't mind sharing your secrets.

You'll also be able to view all of your created Family Recipes, and clicking on them will reveal the options you chose when creating them.

How to get more Special Touches in The Sims 4

Special Touches in The Sims 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll need to add a Special Touch to every Family Recipe that you make, and which ones you'll have unlocked depends on how long your Sim has been around and what they've experienced during their life. If you're playing with an established Household, you'll likely have access to many of the available Special Touches by default.

Remember, you can only create one recipe using each Special Touch. Trying to reuse a Special Touch that you've already used in a Family Recipe will replace the original Family Recipe, so it's worth unlocking as many Special Touches as you can.

However, if you're playing with a new household, you'll need to unlock additional Special Touches by having experiences in the world at large. Here's how:

Special Touch Meal Effect How to unlock
Moodlet Booster Increases the duration of Happy and Inspired Moodlets Unlocked by default
Academic Ace Gives Sims a burst of energy and prevents Elder Sims from experiencing exhaustion Graduate Grade School, High School, or University
Comfort Food Reduces the duration of Sad and Uncomfortable Moodlets Have a successful chat with the Sadness Hotline through the Social tab on the phone while feeling sad
Dream Chaser Sims earn double Satisfaction Points from completing Wants and Aspirations Fulfill 50 Wants
Mystery Fuel Gives Sims a burst of energy and prevents Elder Sims from experiencing exhaustion Obtain a Skill Enhancement Perk
Heartbreak Healer Reduces the duration of Heartbroken Moodlets Experience a heartbreak
Home Remedy Reduces the duration of Illnesses Overcome a common illness
Low Maintenance Slows down how quickly Toddler and Children needs decrease Witness your Sim's child age up
Motive-ating Pauses the decrease of a random need Go three in-game days without experiencing a single negative Moodlet
Spontaneous Rage Increases the success of Mean interactions and boosts performance in physical confrontations with other Sims Win a fight against another Sim
Fertility Unleashed Boosts fertility and increases the likelihood of twins or triplets Become a parent to a newborn

When a Family Recipe infused with a Special Touch is consumed by a Sim, they'll gain the Meal Effect as a perk that lasts a fixed amount of time. How long each perk lasts varies, and you can find out how long you have left with a particular perk by hovering over it underneath your Sim in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

A Warmage battles with a horde or orcs on a new landscape

All characters are not created equal in any game, and balance is rarely as good as we want it to be. The playable characters in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap are no exception to this rule.

There are six characters to start with and an easily unlockable seventh character. It's technically a spoiler, though it might be the least surprising one ever. Consider yourself warned now.

We'll rank them from best to worst, though keep in mind that this is very subjective. We take a lot of factors into consideration, like solo play vs. groups. The traps and upgrades each character comes with can also cause them to shine more or less than others in specific situations.

Kalos the War Mage brings his nature-empowered hammer down upon a group of enemies attacking the rift

Harlow - About the worst thing you can say about Harlow is that her Wind Blast isn't very good. It doesn't do damage, though the strong wind shot can force enemies over ledges or back through traps. Her secondary attack, Pretty Lights, puts down a zone of damage for a period of time.

Combined with her primary Blunderbuss, she excels at dealing damage. And that's not even counting her sidekick, Henry. The furry little dragon passively fires at nearby enemies. It has the neat side effect of alerting you to foes off-camera, too.

Henry's Treat Time is her Overdrive skill, and it causes the little guy to go big and burn enemies in an area for a while. Her Boom Barrel traps might be one use per wave, but they're also incredibly powerful.

Maximilian - The original orc-hunting War Mage can be unlocked by finding five pieces of a mirror floating around the home base. Once you do, you'll have a very strong War Mage at your disposal.

He's great alone or in a group with solid damage and abilities. If you've played any of the previous Orcs Must Die! games, his kit will feel familiar. His main weapon is a crossbow that spreads in a wider arc as you fire it repeatedly. You can keep a steady pace of accurate shots, or unload as enemies get closer.

His Stun Bolt secondary stuns enemies, Nade Spam does great damage, and his Bladestaff overdrive can make quick work of large enemies. He also has a double jump, which is great for navigating stages quickly. His Friendly Flip trap is okay for helping allies get to high places, but otherwise don't have much use.

Wren - She might not be everyone's cup of tea at first, but if you take the time to micromanage her abilities, she can put out a ton of damage. Her Wand has high-damaging shots that are incredibly accurate.

She can use a Time Crystal trap to reduce the reload time of adjacent traps, as well as a Trap Blast that immediately triggers all traps in an area of effect. Her Proximity Orb special ability is especially useful, as it will deal heavy damage to enemies who get too close to her. It's great for dealing with Gnolls.

Her Perfect Reload is a unique mechanic straight out of Gears of War. Time a button press when reloading to get extra ammo for your next "clip." All of these abilities are enhanced by her Overdrive, Mirror Images. Clones of Wren come out to copy your moves, dealing especially devastating amounts of damage when used.

Vaan - The nice thing about Vaan is that he's a solid solo character. His Overdrive, trap, and passive trait all help protect the Rift. It's especially useful when you can't always send a team member to guard it during highly stressful scenarios.

His Charge Beam can leave you vulnerable, but it does a lot of damage to enemies caught in it. His Crossbow is a solid weapon, and his Rift Orb can enhance the damage of nearby traps. He's not incredibly powerful, but his ability to protect the Rift is second to none.

Kalos - To be clear, Kalos is a great character. He's entirely melee-based as he swings a massive hammer around to cleave enemies. However, he has nothing to respond to ranged threats well. You may struggle in solo play, but he shines as a second or third character in a group.

He can lay down a Calling Stone to taunt enemies into a conveniently smashable pile. His survivability is insane with his Nature's Protection passive ability. It effectively gives him a second health bar that recharges over time like shields in Mass Effect. His Rage Ward overdrive can help the entire team power up, which is another reason he's better for group play.

Healing Berries are useful for anyone who needs some health quickly, especially if you've been cursed to a round without healing drops. His Slam Jump is incredibly fun but takes a lot of time to get the hang of its finicky nature.

The character select screen, highlighting Mac and showing some of his abilities.
Screenshot by Destructoid

Mac - Like Kalos, this is a character who works better in group play. He's basically a sniper, which you might not guess from his Wrench Staff weapon. He right-clicks to zoom in, increasing the damage and reducing the spread of his primary attack. His Head Count trait gives him a damage multiplier for each successful headshot in a magazine.

The damage can build up fast. However, all that single target, ranged focus can cause you to get jumped by groups you're not paying attention to. Hence his improved role as a secondary team member. His Gravity Lift trap isn't particularly useful, but his Gravity Blast throws bombs that hold enemies up for a short period.

His overdrive skill is Scan Weak Points. It allows him to do a debuff to enemies, making headshots especially potent.

Sophie - The chronically misanthropic Sophie is a fun character, but has a few unfortunate flaws. She's great in a team with someone like Kalos who can keep enemies distracted. She's another melee-focused character with fast-slashing daggers.

Her right-click allows her to throw a knife at an enemy. Her Shadow Form turns her into a shadow that darts around the screen without taking damage for a short period. When she leaves that form, it damages all the enemies she runs past. This is a great escape tactic, as well as an offensive move. To help make up for her lack of health and general need to be in melee range, she has a lot of health regain on critical attacks.

Her passive gives her health whenever she lands a crit, and her Vampiric Jaws trap applies Rend to an enemy. Rend causes all damage done to the target to be critical. Her biggest help is her overdrive, Bartholomew. He's a powerful, snarky skeleton warrior who will fight with her until his own health is depleted.

Death Stranding 2 scene

The release date for Death Stranding 2 has been revealed, and the upcoming Kojima title will soon be available for pre-order.

Not only do we have the release date for the second Death Stranding title, but we also have more information about all the editions. This guide will list all the important information that Kojima Productions revealed to the public.

Death Stranding 2 release date

Death Stranding 2 will be released globally on Thursday, June 26, 2025. The date was officially confirmed by the following X post. This is the first time that we have had confirmation about the release date, although the game was expected to be released in 2025.

Please note that the pre-orders will go live on March 17, 2025, and the following section has the details about the different editions.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT_A2gPhTIw

Death Stranding 2 Editions

The game will be available in three different editions.

  • Collector's Edition
  • Digital Deluxe Edition
  • Standard Edition (Digital and Boxed)

Pre-ordering any of the three available editions will include four bonus in-game items when you start your adventures in Death Stranding 2.

  • Battle Skeleton: Silver LV1
  • Boost Skeleton: Silver LV2
  • Bokka Skeleton: Silver LV3
  • Custom Hologram: Quokka early unlock

Compared to the Standard Edition, both the Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition will have more in-game goodies. The Collector's edition will also offer physical items as part of the package. Both the Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition also offer early access that begins on June 24, 2025.

Once the pre-orders are live, we will have more ideas about the prices of the different editions. It will be interesting to see whether there will be a Director's Cut later down the lane. We received one for Death Stranding with a lot of extra content.

Additionally, if you're someone who cares a lot about the lore, it might be a good time to play the first part. The second chapter is expected to be a direct continuation of the events, so it's a good idea to stay updated on the story.

Sim and a bike in The Sims 4

With every expansion pack for The Sims 4, one or more new collections are added, and the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack is no different. Two were added, and both offer new ways to interact with the new world of Nordhaven.

The two new Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack collections are Trashley's Certified Art Collection and the Nordhaven Bike Parts Collection. We've already covered how to complete Trashley's Certified Art Collection, so here's everything you need to know about the Bike Parts.

How to find Bike Parts in The Sims 4

Fishing up a box in The Sims 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

There are 28 Bike Parts to find, and they can only be discovered in the world of Nordhaven. There are four fishing spots around Nordhaven, two in Iverstad and two in Gammelvik. When interacting with any of these fishing spots, you'll have a new option to "Clean the Canal", a new feature added as part of the Businesses and Hobbies expansion.

Despite having 28 parts in total to collect, these are only recolors of the same two basic items — the Cykel Frame and the Cykel Wheel. Collecting all of the parts will allow you to put together the story of Britta Cykel, a former beloved resident of Nordhaven, through the descriptions of the parts themselves.

All Nordhaven Bike Parts in The Sims 4

To complete the Nordhaven Bike Parts Collection, you'll need to gather up all 28 parts, made up of 10 Cykel Wheels and 18 Cykel Frames. Admittedly, the maths here doesn't quite add up and you'll have far more frames than wheels in the end, but that's half the fun.

Once you collect the Bike Parts, you can sell them (useful if you're doing the Rags to Businesses challenge) or use them as decorations. While the Cykel Frames aren't exactly the most aesthetically pleasing home decor, the wheels make a nice addition and help to tie your space into the world of Nordhaven itself.

Here are all of the different Cykel Parts to be found, how rare each part is, and how much they sell for:

Frames

Bike Part In-game description Sale price
"Anna" Cykel Frame "Britta would sit near the Gammelvik gazebo quite often and contemplate things. She was tickled by the public art there and called the piece near the gazebo The Pistachio so much that most of us ended up calling it Britta's Pistachio. I heard that irked the artist quite a bit!" 25 Simoleons
"Emma" Cykel Frame "Grandma was the best bike lady and also gave me cotton candy, I miss her!" 25 Simoleons
"Henrik" Cykel Frame "Ms. Cykel loved bringing the family onto the Nordhaven ferry. I worked as a guide and she would ask questions about the buildings while Lars looked after little Mathilda and baby Sara." 25 Simoleons
"Sophie" Cykel Frame "Did Britta Cykel sit and model for my mermaid sculpture? I don't think that's my story to tell." 25 Simoleons
"Martin" Cykel Frame "I was riding the ferry one day and muttering about the graffiti that was ruining our beautiful town, and Britta reminded me that beauty relied on the continuing creativity bursting forth from all of us. What a strange and unique way she had of looking at the world." 25 Simoleons
"Marie" Cykel Frame "I remember how intently grandma Britta would look at a broken bike. She saw the potential of anything, even something that others would discard or trash; in her hands, it would become the foundation of something new." 25 Simoleons
"Peter" Cykel Frame "I was coming back from my Nordhaven vacation and was seated next to Ms. Cykel on the train. She seemed nervous but excited, and filled the entire time telling me stories about Gammelvik. It made me want to schedule another visit right away!" 30 Simoleons
"Ida" Cykel Frame "After she retired from working full-time on bikes, Britta was still an active member of the community, often coming to the various meetups and trying out a new hobby or two." 30 Simoleons
"Lena" Cykel Frame "The thing about Britta is that she never saw herself as belonging to anyone but herself. So, yes, she did love Lars and Maria and others, but they were just a part of the grand love that she put out into the world every day." 35 Simoleons
"Ann" Cykel Frame "I crossed paths with Britta Cykel when she came to give a talk on bicycles at the Britechester. She was so passionate, it made me jealous. I wanted to have something, anything, in my life that I cared about that much." 95 Simoleons
"Mathilda" Cykel Frame "Mother would oten tell me that getting on a bike wasn't about trying to arrive somewhere but about the experience of getting there. She wanted to enjoy every moment of the going." 95 Simoleons
"Hans" Cykel Frame "Ms. Cykel would always fix up my bike for free. All she wanted in exchange was a grand story about the adventure I'd raken it on to get it into that rough condition." 105 Simoleons
"Nia" Cykel Frame "Well Britta had a few tattoos, but I've been sworn to secrecy, so I can't tell you what they were and I certainly can't tell you where they were!" 105 Simoleons
"Kristina" Cykel Frame "As a child, I used to walk by the Cykel Bike Shop as I made my way home from school, but my family could never afford such a bicycle for myself. "Mattias" Cykel Frame "You wouldn't know it looking at her, but Britta could be quite the rebel. I remember some time after she returned from her trip to Britechester, she camped for a week in front of a Gammelvik historic building to push for more bike lanes!" 275 Simoleons
"Ingrid" Cykel Frame "I apprenticed under Britta for a while and learned how to take a bike apart and make it shine. But once she was gone, it wasn't the same, so we closed up the shop. Still, her spirit lives on in ever bike you see in Nordhaven." 295 Simoleons

"Susanne" Cykel Wheel "After Mom and Aunt Mathilda had their own families and moved out, grandma moved to Iverstad and we saw her less. But she still had her big holiday party every year! I loved going to that." 30 Simoleons
"Mikael" Cykel Wheel "Writing about Britta Cykel is both easy and hard. Easy because everyone in Nordhaven who knew her has a story to tell, but hard because aside from her sister Lena, there's very little anyone knows about her before she arrived here." 30 Simoleons
"Jan" Cykel Wheel "Grandma never married grandpa. She always said that our love is what ties us together, not the law. I still plan to get married one day, but she was one of a kind." 35 Simoleons
"Jonas" Cykel Wheel "Often when I came by the bike shop, I'd find Ms. Cykel spinning a wheel and just watching it rotate. Whenever I was having a bad day, she'd say life was like a bike wheel—you're never down for long, but you can't count on staying on top either." 45 Simoleons
"Camilla" Cykel Wheel "There was a two-week period after Britta's 40th birthday where she disappeared. No one knew where she went! Not Lars or her children or her friend Maria! And then—pop—she was back, but refused to say a word!" 120 Simoleons
"Maria" Cykel Wheel "When I got scared, I would ask Britta what I was to her. She would take a breath and tell me that we were two entwined souls that had the good fortune to overlap at this singular moment in time and in this wonderful place we called home." 130 Simoleons
"Sara" Cykel Wheel "Of course we were taught to ride a bike as soon as we could pedal. I remember one time taking a turn too quickly and ending up in the canal! I can still hear the laughs from my sister Mathilda." 145 Simoleons
"Jenny" Cykel Wheel "When I interviewed Britta Cykel at the end of her career, she didn't like being known as a renowned bicycle maker. She preferred to be remembered for the many friendships she forged." 280 Simoleons
"Johan" Cykel Wheel "Ms. Cykel is a fine woman who has done much to bring pride and joy to Nordhaven, but the piece is called Mother and Child. It is not Britta's Pistachio! Please stop calling it that!" 325 Simoleons

There are also two other Bike Parts you can find when cleaning the canals in Nordhaven, the "Bike Part - Frame" and "Bike Part - Wheel". Neither of these are included in the Nordhaven Bike Parts Collection.

Using cheats to get the Nordhaven Bike Parts Collection

The Nordhaven Bike Parts Collection in The Sims 4

If you want any of the wheels or frames from the Nordhaven Bike Parts Collection, you can always use cheats to find them in the Build and Buy menu. Once you place them into the world, you're free to put them into your Sim's inventory, and it will count towards the collection, bypassing the need to fish entirely.

To do this, open up the console by pressing the following buttons on your chosen platform:

  • PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + C
  • PS/Xbox: Hold all four triggers

Then enter the following into the console:

  • "testingcheats true"
  • "bb.showhiddenobjects"

The easiest way to find the frames and wheels in the Build and Buy menu is by utilizing the search bar at the left-hand side of the screen. Simply search for "wheel" or "frame", and you'll find all of the collectibles ready to be placed in your Sim's home. You can then interact with them and put them in your inventory to add them to your collection.

Riding a bike in The Sims 4

Bikes are nothing new to The Sims 4, and we've had access to them ever since Discover University was released back in November 2019. Not only are they good aesthetic items, but they also greatly increase the speed at which you can travel between lots, which is always useful.

Further bikes were added in the following packs:

  • Eco Lifestyle
  • Cottage Living (as part of the "Gnome on the Go" pre-order pack)
  • Growing Together
  • Businesses and Hobbies

If you're wondering how to get a specific Bike, or how they work, here's everything you need to know about Bikes in The Sims 4.

If you've got access to any of the packs mentioned above, you'll have access to a Bike in-game. They can mostly be found in the Build and Buy menu, except for the Bike added with Eco Lifestyle, which can only be found by Dumpster Diving.

Here are all of the Bikes currently available in The Sims 4, along with how to get them, and how much they cost:

Once you have a placed Bike, you can ride it by simply interacting with it. You'll also be able to rename it, store it in your inventory, or set it as your preferred bike if you have more than one in your household.

Once a bike is in your inventory, you'll be able to click anywhere in the world and have the option to "bike there," a much quicker option to walking. Alternatively, you can place the bike in the world at any point and use it that way.

Valorant best agents for each map - agents in Valorant with a red background

With their unique abilities and roles, agents in Valorant can often make the difference between winning or losing. To make sure you get the most efficient wins, you have to pick the best agents for each map. Let's find out what they are.

Best Valorant agents for each map

Ascent

This floating typical Italian island features different entrances to each site and there doesn't really seem to be any major advantage to either side. In Ascent, things are balanced well, so the agents you pick can make or break your match.

Image via Riot Games

Many players found that the combo of Sova with KAY/O is one of the best here. Add Killjoy or Deadlock and you are on your way to one of the best teams you can have. Naturally, Jett is also a great choice.

With KAY/O bringing the knives attack and Sova with the recon bolts, you can be sure that the ground is well-covered. This is the team composition I recommend for this map:

Agent Recommended Role
Reyna Duelist
Killjoy or Deadlock Sentinel
Brimstone Controller
KAY/O and Sova Initiator

Breeze

A vacation on a tropical island is always a great idea, and Breeze is one of the biggest maps around, featuring several entry points as well. You will need agents that can hold their own, plus good cover and flank control to make sure you don't miss out on any enemies, especially if you are holding the mid-entry point.

Thanks to Cypher's camera and trap skills, he is a great choice for Breeze. Plus Viper's smoke skills can be great to confuse the enemies and gain control over them, along with Harbor who can enhance those smoke stack skills even more and block the enemies from shooting back.

This is the team composition I recommend for this map:

Agent Recommended Role
Jett Duelist
Cypher or Chamber Sentinel
Sova Initiator
Viper Controller
Harbor Controller

Bind

With many long corridors, two Sites, and no midpoints, this map can be easy to master and come out on top. Overall, this is one map where defense is king, so you want to bring your best Sentinels, plus a good Initiator.

View of bind
Image via Riot Games

I speak of Brimstone, who can basically block the enemies from efficiently using the entry points with his Smoke skills. The attacking duo of Skye and Raze should be pretty obvious to guess here, with the combination of grenades and blind skills, they can easily bring home some kills and add to the defensive capabilities of your team.

This is the team composition we recommend for Bind:

Agent Recommended Role
Raze Duelist
Cypher Sentinel
Sage Sentinel
Brimstone Controller
Skye Initiator

Split

This trip to Japantown features a lot of climbing around and moving across ladders, which can be used to gain access to the overpass that unites the two sites at the center. Here, the ability to move swiftly and jump around is key to defending efficiently.

View of Split
Image via Riot Games

Since Split is one of the smallest maps, the attacking duo of Raze and Jett will again be key to ensuring you are always on the attack. With Omen's blindness skill, plus the smoke drops, he is a great addition to your sites to cover those hard-to-see places on the map.

Players have found, over time, that Sage is one of the best agents in Split, since she can effectively defend the mid-entry point, thanks to many useful abilities such as the spycams and traps.

This is the best composition team for Split:

Agent Recommended Role
Raze Duelist
Jett Duelist
Killjoy Sentinel
Sage Sentinel
Omen Controller

Icebox

This is another map where being able to move quickly and jump around is key to avoid being overwhelmed by enemies. You will have to use ziplines to move around quite a bit. But of course, since the map offers several places to move around, there are more possible entry points for enemies to surprise you.

view of the Icebox map
Image via Riot Games

Again, Omen and Jett are great choices as they are the best in maps that require vertical movement. Also, Cypher's traps can be key to blocking enemies and buying time, along with the recon abilities of Sova. As support, think about choosing Sage. Should you fall behind, she can recover fallen agents, plus provide additional defense.

This is the best team composition for Icebox:

Agent Recommended Role
Sage Initiator
Jett Sentinel
Killjoy Sentinel
Viper Controller
Omen Controller

Abyss

As one of the most recent additions to Valorant, Abyss brings verticality in the game to new heights, as this time you can also fall to your death. Plus its size is quite something, so you have to switch up your team.

View of Abyss
Image via Riot Games

Harbor is a great selection for this map since his walls can block corners, allowing teammates to push through. Ranged combat in Abyss is basically the name of the game, so Chamber is a go-to pick.

Jett is, as usual, one of the best Duelists for this map, along with Breach being a great choice, since you can use the height of the map to your advantage and easily get rid of enemies with his flashes and seismic abilities.

Agent Recommended Role
Breach Initiator
Jett Sentinel
Chamber Sentinel
Harbor Controller
Omen Controller

Haven

Back on the competitive rotation, this is one classic map where defending is quite difficult since there are three lanes to attack. Ironically, attackers don't have an easy time either, because of the many possibilities for rotations and flanks.

View of Haven
Image via Riot Games

Once again Jett is the Duelist pick here. Killjoy works well as a Sentinel, thanks to her turret skills plus the backstab alert on the attacking side.

Omen is a great choice of controller because of his smoke skills and quick movement through his Teleport skill. If you prefer to take two Initiators, then Breach is good for his flashes that can make the difference around these tough corridors.

This is the best team composition for Haven:

Agent Recommended Role
Sova Initiator
Jett Sentinel
Killjoy Sentinel
Breach Controller
Omen Controller

Sunset

Love or hate it, Sunset is quite the unique map in Valorant. Not only does it come with two different sites, but also features the usual mid-point that is tricky to both defend and attack from. Your best bet is to opt for agents with good smoke and wall skills.

View of Sunset
Image via Riot Games

Of course, I speak of Harbor and Omen, as their combined abilities prevent enemies from enjoying many opportunities to attack. Jett is, as usual, a strong choice, but Killjoy might be even better as she can take control and guard both sites.

Finally, Skye will complement the team in the best way possible, through cover skills and defenses. But don't forget about Gekko, as his Dizzy ability can also be the key to winning this round on Sunset.

Here is the best team composition for Sunset:

Agent Recommended Role
Breach or Gekko Initiator
Jett or Sage Sentinel
Killjoy Sentinel
Skye Controller
Omen Controller

Lotus

Just like Haven, this is another map with three possible points of entry. This trip to India has some unique mechanics as well, and they favor faster agents. For our first choice, Neon is great, not only can she move around quickly but she can build walls and her Overdrive ultimate can be a great ace up your sleeve.

View of Lotus
Image via Riot Games

For your Initiator, be sure to bring along Breach. His grenades can blind the enemies plus his Fault Line blast clears up any enemies lingering around unseen, making him a solid choice.

Finally, Fade and Raze complete a great team. Raze skills such as Boom Bot and Paint Shell grenades allow you to move on the aggro. Fade can reveal enemies so you can bring the attack quickly and with precision.

This is the best team for Lotus:

Agent Recommended Role
Breach Initiator
Fade Initiator
Neon Duelist
Raze Duelist
Omen Controller

Best agents to pick for any map

If you are unsure of who to pick given the new maps on rotation, or you just want to shake things up, there are agents that work well for most situations.

Killjoy in Valorant
Image via Riot Games

My picks would be the following:

  • Jett: we mentioned her many times in this article and for good reason. She is one of the best duelists around, with great movement and skills. Also a good pick if you're just starting out in Valorant, as she can make a great addition to any team.
  • Omen: when used correctly, Omen's skills are some of the best around, especially if you like playing aggressively. If you want to smoke locations, the Dark Cover ability will be perfect, along with Paranoia for blinding enemies.
  • Killjoy: she's also a great addition to any team, not purely for her aggressive skills, but in how she can be key in holding down sites during defense, and her ultimate Lockdown is great during the attack phase.
  • Sova: this Initiator might be better left for more advanced players, that's for sure. But when used correctly his skills can be key to winning matches. With his Owl Drone, you can easily scout areas, and his Hunter's Fury is great in the attack phase.

an image of Gold in FragPunk

Gold is one of the most important currencies to collect in FragPunk. If you're wondering how to get some fast to unlock different items, here's everything you need to know.

FragPunk is the latest free-to-play 5v5 hero-based first-person shooter that, at the time of writing, is only available to play on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Best ways to get Gold fast in FragPunk

There are 4 great ways to get Gold fast in FragPunk:

  • Claim the Daily Free Bundle
  • Play as many matches as possible
  • Complete daily challenges
  • Redeem FragPunk codes

Claim the Daily Free Bundle

Claiming the Daily Free Bundle from the Items section inside the Store is one of the surest ways to get a Gold top up every day.

You get 50 Gold and 50 Glunite Coins, which can be really handy when you're only a few coins short of unlocking a new Lancer.

an image of Gold earned from a FragPunk multiplayer match
Screenshot by Destructoid

Play as many matches as possible

The next best way is to play as many multiplayer matches as possible. The amount of Gold you get depends on the margin with which you've won a match or how much contribution you've made to your team's victory, such as kills and assists.

Complete daily challenges

Completing daily challenges is another great way to get Gold, Glunite Coins, and the much-needed XP to level up.

Completing one of these challenges will get you 100x Gold, which is not much, but it goes a long way in stacking up over time.

Redeem FragPunk codes

Redeeming FragPunk codes is another way to get a decent amount of Gold. These codes, released by the devs occasionally, earn you in-game rewards such as Gold, FragPunk Coins, Pop Cans, Sticker Packs, and more.

The drawback is that the codes can be redeemed only once. But the rewards you get from them are essential to increasing the pool of different currencies in the game.

What is Gold used for in FragPunk?

In FragPunk, Gold is used to:

  • Unlock Lancers
  • Purchase Relics and other items

Lancers are the different playable characters with various abilities. So, unlocking more of them and being familiar with each makes you versatile, which is handy for the team.

After reaching level 15, you can spend 2,000 Gold to buy Relics. On the other hand, you can spend 1,000 and 10,000 Gold to purchase stickers and Curiosity Pop Cans from the store.

Now that you know about the best methods to get Gold fast, be sure to check the cool Twitch drops Bad Guitar Studio offers to celebrate the game's launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds character creation codes

Monster Hunter Wilds' character creation has certainly inspired players to create some amazing designs for their Hunters, and they have certainly taken their creativity to the next level.

In the following list, you'll find some of the best Hunter designs in my books. Thanks to the codes, you can use them pretty easily for your own Hunter design.

Best Hunter designs in Monster Hunter Wilds

Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher)

Design code: PN5AL8K78EY5

Image of Geralt in Monster HunterWilds

There are some similarities between the worlds of Monster Hunter and The Witcher, given that we hunt down monsters in both. What can be a better tribute to one another than recreating the White Wolf as your Hunter in Wilds? This amazing creation was shared on Reddit by user Gullible-Ad8788, and it is one of my favorites.

Kratos (God of War)

Design code: 966EP8PU3P47

Image of Kratos in Monster Hunter Wilds

Kratos is perhaps one of the most popular figures in the realm of video games, and someone recreating his looks for Wilds isn't surprising at all. The best design comes from Only Guides on YouTube, and this code will instantly turn your Hunter into a Greek demigod.

Vergil (Devil May Cry)

Design code: WN48H8BU5BM3

Image of Vergil in Monster HunterWilds

Why die as a hero when you can rule as a villain? This must have been the motive behind user NoctisBOI, who recreated Vergil as a Hunter design. Esthetically, this design looks extremely suitable with the general world of Wilds, and make sure to equip Dual Blades to match the elements.

Gigachad (Pop Figure)

Design code: DA54737R7Y47

Image of Gigachad in Monster HunterWilds

Gigachad might or might not have always been used on sensible memes, but one thing is certain: he has become an internet sensation. Sorradude's creation on Reddit makes your Hunter resemble the alpha male pretty quickly. Make sure to rub off some of the aura on the monsters before you take them down.

Lucy (Cyberpunk Edgerunners)

Design code: KA8JW7MW3N68

Image of Lucy in Monster Hunter Wilds

If you loved the Cyberpunk 2077-inspired anime as much as I did, there's room for you to make your Hunter look like Lucyna Kushida, or Lucy for short. The creation from Ranniery-Jesuino allows you to enjoy an amazing design if you're picking a female archetype for your Hunter design.

Danny Trejo

Design code: MC8M76BL3UP7

Image of Danny Trejo in Monster Hunter Wilds

The iconic actor has appeared in numerous video games, but he isn't part of Monster Hunter Wilds in the official sense. However, the community has still managed to make Machete part of the game's lore, all thanks to the character creation option.

The Joker (Batman)

Design code: JT3W738L3VH9

Image of the Joker in Monster Hunter Wilds

A Harley Quinn creation is already available on social media, but I am not a big fan of the design. The Joker, on the other hand, looks absolutely superb. Created by OnShift Gaming on YouTube, this design is as good a Joker-inspired Hunter could potentially look like.

Once I have found more inspired creations, they will be added to this list. There are plenty of interesting characters yet to be adapted to Wilds. If you want to change the appearance of your existing character, you'll need Character Vouchers to unlock the function.

The V1.04 update is now live in WWE 2K25. It includes a few major changes and a permanent solution to MyRise mode crashes.

Advanced access hasn't been without issues, as the MyRise mode has been filled with crashes. Similarly, Steam users could not download the game because of an incorrect launch date was being shown for the Deadman and Bloodline Editions. Thankfully, the latest update should resolve most, if not all, of the issues plaguing players during advanced access.

Complete WWE 2K25 1.04 patch notes

General

  • Stability and performance improvements
  • Addressed reported concerns of the inability to launch MyRISE
  • Addressed reported concerns of Deletion Utility instability
  • Addressed reported issues with Sensational Sherri and Shawn Michaels' attires when used as managers

The Island (XBX/PS5)

  • Addressed reported concerns of incorrect Superstar portraits displaying when loading into matches

Gameplay

  • Addressed reported concerns of the first entrants in a WarGames match remaining outside of the ring
  • Addressed reported concerns of Chain Wrestling not triggering
  • Addressed reported concerns of the LED barricades not displaying appropriate damage

Create

  • Addressed reported concerns related to coloring to custom images

Aside from general fixes, The Island mode has also been updated to feature the correct superstar portraits while loading into a match. This part of the update will be exclusive to the Xbox Series X and PS5 console, just like the mode itself. The other changes are available on the game's console and PC versions.

If you are still experiencing crashes in the MyRise mode, check out our guide to help yourself. If you own either the Bloodline or Deadman Edition on Steam and haven't been able to download, the problem should be fixed as well. For starters, you'll want to unlock as many superstars as possible, and this guide will help you figure out how many of them are available across the different game modes.
