Here's why Overwatch 2 Stadium won't launch with heroes like Tracer and Hanzo

Overwatch 2 is just a few days away from launching its radical new Stadium mode. Aiming to be a new core pillar for the hero shooter alongside its Competitive and Quick Play modes, its gameplay innovations and ability reworks look awesome, but it comes at the price of having a limited hero pool. Now, Blizzard has lifted the lid on how it decided on Stadium's lineup of launch heroes, and why certain characters like Tracer, Widowmaker, and Hanzo have been left on the sidelines - for now, at least.

Ubisoft reportedly making a battle royale that directly rivals Apex Legends

When it comes to competitive multiplayer games, Ubisoft is a bit of an oddity. On one hand, it boasts one of the most successful and loyally followed shooters in the world with Rainbow Six Siege. On the other, it's had infamous flops like Hyper Scape and, most recently, XDefiant. It's had plenty of canceled games, too, like Ghost Recon Frontline or The Division Heartland. And there've been lots of rumored multiplayer projects that range from genuinely interesting propositions to head-in-hands, 'what the hell are you thinking?' ideas. I think this latest one may fall into that latter category… A new report from a reliable Ubisoft insider claims that it's working on a new battle royale game that is "highly inspired" by Apex Legends.

New Nvidia drivers for GeForce graphics cards finally fix major game crashes

After a long run of unsuccessful attempts via GPU driver updates to fix several common issues with GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics cards, Nvidia claims to have finally found the solution. Driver update 576.02 is available to download right now and fixes a ton of game crashing issues as well as the black screen fault that has been plaguing the company's newest GPUs.

Nvidia has faced a ton of criticism lately, in part due to some of its latest graphics cards not delivering the price/performance balance many gamers were hoping for but also due to its inability to correct basic issues with driver updates, even leading to game developers recommending driver rollbacks. Now, the maker of some of the best graphics cards believes it has fixed the most egregious issues, all while adding support for the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti.

Fortnite and Fitness Boxing Switch 2 Compatibility Updated

Nintendo Japan updated the list of backwards compatible games that have some sort of compatibility issues with the upcoming Switch 2 system. The new update includes Fortnite and Fitness Boxing as the two only Switch titles listed as having some sort of major issue that are planned to be addressed when the Switch 2 launches. [Thanks, Inside Games!]

Epic Games previously announced that a Switch 2 version for Fortnite is currently in the making. However, for Fitness Boxing the issues encountered in the game will be solved via a title update. There is no information yet on if this update will be available on launch day for the new system or when exactly it will be available. It is also unknown if that will be a free patch or paid upgrade.

Furthermore, during the evaluation process, Nintendo encountered 139 games presenting undisclosed issues on the new Switch 2 console. Some of these include Doom Eternal, Pizza Tower, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi, and Final Fantasy, to name a few. For the final title, the list didn't specify which game, but given the naming convention it could be the Pixel Remaster version of the first title.

Meanwhile, 50 games were confirmed to have some issues, but can otherwise be played and progress can be made.  A few games appearing in this list are Harvestella, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Alan Wake Remastered, Overcooked, and Alien: Isolation.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit game is listed as having no possible compatibility with the Nintendo Switch 2. This is due to the size of the cardboard kit not being prepared with the size of the new hardware in mind.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch worldwide on June 5, 2025. The pre-order period has been delayed for North America due to issues with tariffs.

As these are brief looks at lives of the Direct Attack (DA) Lycoris agents during their downtime, it seems each episode will be under three minutes. It is designed to act as a complement to the original anime adaptation.

This short begins at LycoReco. Chisato is at work alongside Mika. She mentions that someone is constantly ordering tea and adding liquor to it. He guesses it is Mizuki. When talking with Takina, the two overhear drunken karaoke next door and talk about viewing cherry blossoms. While they are supposed to be working, the two then share a moment and relax together.

Here's the full first episode, which is called "Take It Easy." English subtitles are included.

Final Fantasy XI Feast of Swords Returns in April

Square Enix announced the next Final Fantasy XI event is the Feast of Swords, and it seems like the 2025 edition may be identical to past iterations of the FFXI seasonal activity. It always happens around the second half of April and beginning of May, starting from its 2005 debut. This time, we can take part between April 22, 2025 and May 10, 2025.

To start the Feast of Swords, you need to talk to a Moogle in one of six locations to get an Ibushi Shinai. Here are the spots where you'll find them:

  • Bastok Markets (G-8)
  • Bastok Mines (H-9)
  • Northern San d'Oria (D-8)
  • Southern San d'Oria (J-9)
  • Windurst Waters (F-5)
  • Windurst Woods (K-10)

Once you have that sword, you need to visit another Moogle to imbue it with magic so you can fight the armor enemies, such as the Omodaka Armor, and earn points for your assault. To start that second portion and enter into the fight, you need to go to one of the NPC mascots at the places below:

  • Batallia Downs (K-8)
  • East Ronfaure (G-6)
  • East Sarutabaruta (G-11)
  • Jugner Forest (I-8)
  • Konschtat Highlands (I-6)
  • La Theine Plateau (J-8)
  • Meriphataud Mountains (E-5)
  • North Gustaberg (L-8)
  • Pashhow Marshlands (K-6)
  • Rolanberry Fields (K-5)
  • Sauromugue Champaign (E-5)
  • South Gustaberg (L-8)
  • Tahrongi Canyon (I-6)
  • West Ronfaure (I-6)
  • West Sarutabaruta (J-8)

As in the past, after beating the enemies, you need to trade your points to the character remaining with a "???" overhead. You'll then get a reward.

The announcement didn't specify which rewards will be part of the 2025 Feast of Swords event in Final Fantasy XI. However, if it follows past patterns, we have an idea of what it might involve. In the past, the amount of points earned would sometimes influence what we'd get. So some of the lower-rank items would be Elvaan, Galka, Hume, or Tarutaru Mochi. Some of the better rewards in the past included a Shobuhouou Kabuto, Hardwood Katana, and Katana-kazari.

Final Fantasy XI is available on PCs, and the Feast of Swords event runs in FFXI between April 22, 2025 and May 10, 2025. Other updates, including new single-player options, are planned for the game for 2025.

New Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Character Is a Black Spider Clan Member

Dotemu announced there will be a second Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound playable character, and she will be a Black Spider Clan kunoichi named Kumori. She'll join Ryu Hayabusa's student Kenji Mozu as the two possible avatars.

While the Black Spider Clan members didn't appear as enemies in the original Ninja Gaiden Tecmo NES games, they appeared in multiple entries developed by Team Ninja. Kumori is an entirely new and original character for this installment, just like Kenji. Like Hayabusa Village, Black Spider HQ is under attack by unknown forces as this game begins.

As Kumori part of a different organization, her types of attacks and moveset will look different than Kenji's. She uses Fiend style attacks, traditional ninja weapons like kunai, and even a motorcycle in the initial stages shown. The trailer announcing her reveal also confirmed a Ninja Fusion that combines Kenji and her in one body to allow access to both sorts of abilities at once when attacking.

Here's the Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Kumori character trailer:

There are also two Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound screenshots of the Black Spider Clan member Kumori. Both of them are action shots that show her in the middle of fights during stages in the game.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in Summer 2025.

Zenless Zone Zero Belle and Wise Phaethon Figures Orders Open

Good Smile Company is adding the Zenless Zone Zero Phaethon player avatar characters Belle and Wise to the Pop Up Parade line of figures. Both will join the collection in October 2025 in Japan. A worldwide debut will follow. Each one costs ¥7,500.

Since these are Pop Up Parade figures, there are no additional accessories or face plates. They are also non-standard scale items. This means Belle will stand at about 177mm (~7in) tall, while Wise is 201mm (~8in). Both are wearing their standard outfits from the game. Each one is also posed in a relaxed manner, with Wise putting his hand behind his neck and another in his pocket and Belle stretching both arms out in front of her.

Here's how the siblings' figures look:

This isn't the first time Good Smile Company announced figures of the Zenless Zone Zero Phaethon avatar characters Belle and Wise. The company previously announced Nendoroids too. Those aren't available yet, as orders only just opened at the start of 2025. They are expected to appear in Japan at the end of 2025 and worldwide by Q1 2026. They're the first two Nendoroids of characters from the series.

The Zenless Zone Zero Pop Up Parade figures of Phaethon player characters Belle and Wise will debut in Japan in October 2025, followed by a worldwide release. Pre-orders are open until June 11, 2025. The game is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Xbox Series X version debuts alongside the 2.0 update in June 2025.

In addition, the company has opened sweepstakes on social media, where a lucky winner can get an autograph board with Archer's illustration and a signature from the character's Japanese voice actor, Junichi Suwabe. The sweepstakes for all four characters revealed to date will close on the same day on April 21, 2025.

Yostar has also published a preview trailer showing how Archer will appear in Mahjong Soul once players have gained access to him:

RuneScape Dragonwilds wool thread

There's a natural progression of resource gathering and refined material manufacturing in RuneScape Dragonwilds. When you first make stations like the spinning wheel and kiln, you'll make coarse thread and bronze bars. As you progress, you'll unlock more advanced materials like wool thread.

Wool thread is essential for building the loom and unlocking Padded Cloth. If you want to expand your gear arsenal, you'll need to return to your spinning wheel and use various mid-game resources to upgrade your machines. Here's how to make wool thread in RuneScape Dragonwilds.

How to make Wool Thread in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Creating wool thread requires getting your hands on fleece and soft animal fur. Using these two resources in your spinning wheel will grant you wool thread for building or crafting. You need three soft animal fur to make two threads, while one fleece transforms into one.

You can obtain fleece and soft animal fur from creatures in Fractured Plains and Stormtouched Highlands. In particular, sheep and ram drop fleece, while wolves give soft animal fur. Both frequently spawn throughout both regions, but watch out for Garou enemies that attack along the way.

RuneScape Dragonwilds wool thread in the spinning wheel
Screenshot by Destructoid

Of these three options, sheep are the easiest to farm. Unlike wolves and rams, sheep are level-one creatures that behave much like deer. The only difference is that they don't immediately run away when you come close to them, letting you shoot them or slash your daggers to get the job done.

Although wolves and rams are harder to defeat, they're not too challenging either. Wolves have a delay before their attacks, letting you easily block or dodge them. They're only difficult to handle if you have multiple around you, but a few well-timed blocks or magic casts will help you turn the tables in your favor.

Rams are even easier to deal with. They move slower than wolves, making them easy to shoot if you approach them from a distance. More often than not, you'll find sheep near them too, giving you another opportunity to farm some fleece. Overall, soft animal fur and fleece aren't the worst resources to gather once you learn where to get them.

How to use Wool Thread in RuneScape Dragonwilds

The most important use of wool thread initially is to build a loom. You'll need the following resources to create this station:

RuneScape Dragonwilds loom
Screenshot by Destructoid

All three materials require unique workstations. Ash planks come from sawmills, while bronze bars require building a furnace and smelling copper and tin inside. Fortunately, all the materials you need are within the regions between Temple Woods and Fractured Plains.

The loom leads you right into creating cloth. You'll need two wool threads to create wool cloth, while three coarse threads give you one rough cloth. Both of these types are necessary to make Padded Cloth after acquiring your first loom upgrade.

HyperScape was just the beginning. Ubisoft is reportedly ready to get back into the battle royale genre.

According to a new report by Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, Ubisoft is looking to Apex Legends for inspiration on its next game. The new game, codenamed Scout, has "been in development for at least a couple of years and will feature 'very similar' characters to Apex including a spin on Pathfinder, Wraith, Lifeline," and others.

Image via Respawn Entertainment

Ubisoft tried the ride the battle royale trend in 2020 with HyperScape, a futuristic FPS BR, but the game did not find much of an audience and was soon shut down. But with Apex's player always in question, apparently the company thinks it can swoop in and pick up the scraps.

"I think the goal is to capitalize on the player count of Apex dropping and them [Ubisoft higher-ups] thinking there's room in the market for another hero battle royale," one of Henderson's sources said.

Henderson has been a reliable reporter in the past, especially when it comes to Ubisoft titles. His reports on XDefiant spelled doom for the publisher's attempts at capitalizing on the twitchy Call of Duty shooter market, and it was announced not long after that the game would also be shutting down. In fact, Henderson said "Ubisoft has cancelled around a dozen battle royales for one reason or another in various stages of development" after HyperScape was shuttered.

I honestly don't envy any publishers or developers in this current market for games. With players continuing to sink more and more time into older games like Fortnite, Warzone, and others, trying to find the next big thing seems to be mostly fruitless, outside of outliers such as Marvel Rivals that have come out and found immediate success.

A new BR can't be too different from what makes the genre fun, but it also can't be too similar, and it has to have a hook, and it has to have fair monetization while also being profitable. It's a lofty goal, but it seems like Ubisoft hasn't given up just yet.

Characters using an axe to chop wood

You'd expect wood planks to be easy to find, but RuneScape: Dragonwilds locks them behind a mess of buildings and mechanics. Instead of grabbing them off the ground, you'll have to craft them. Not sure how? Here's a quick guide to help you turn logs into planks.

How to make planks in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Planks are crafted with the Sawmill, a Crafting station that, surprisingly, isn't available right away. I assumed something as basic as a Sawmill would unlock within my first 10 hours, but no luck. Eventually, I realized you need to gather Bronze Bars first, which are made from smelting Tin and Copper Ore at the Furnace. Even if you do unlock the recipe, you'll still need to gather the following resources:

  • 18 Ash Logs
  • 4 Bronze Bars
  • 8 Stone

RuneScape: Dragonwilds' tutorial phase should've pointed you in the right direction for the Ash Logs and Stone. While it'll take a while to gather the amount required for the Sawmill, you can utilize spells such as Rocksplosion and Axtral Projection. The area containing Bronze Bars recommends Level 3 gear, so expect enemies around that rank. You can try sneaking in if you're under-leveled, but you'll probably get caught in a fight. Bring a bow or whatever weapon you're most comfortable with to handle any trouble that comes your way.

Crafting the Sawmill Crafting station
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you've gathered all the necessary resources, head over to the Build menu and navigate to the Crafting section. From there, you'll be able to place down the Sawmill, finally unlocking the ability to turn basic wood into usable planks. It's a big step forward in your progression, opening the door to new recipes, structures, and upgrades that rely on this essential material. From this point on, you'll be spending a fair bit of time feeding logs into the Sawmill, so get comfy and keep that wood stockpile coming.

How to use planks in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

The Ash Planks will be the very first recipe you'll unlock after you've acquired the Sawmill. This item is used in multiple recipes, including the Tanner's Kit's Hard Leather upgrade. You can also build the Loom, which lets you thread in textiles and cloths for more gear enhancements.

Crafting the Ash Planks with the Sawmill
Screenshot by Destructoid

Alongside those two recipes, the Cooking Range becomes available once you snag your first Ash Plank. This station lets you cook up hearty meals or sizzle raw meat for some much-needed sustenance. As you progress, more wood types will start to appear, like Blightwood, which unlocks additional plank recipes. You can also toss any plank into the Kiln to produce Charcoal, but honestly, I recommend sticking with regular logs. Save your premium planks for the good stuff.

Fortunately, planks aren't essential for building your base, as starter homes only require logs. Therefore, you can focus on gathering wood without worrying about crafting planks early on. If you are looking for more RuneScape: Dragonwilds resource tips, check out our Vault Shard guide.

full volleyball legends styles tier list

Even though you can choose between 23 different styles in Volleyball Legends. And unlike most games, the drop chance of each style directly correlates with how good the style is. The rarer it is, the better it is, basically. However, there are some exceptions. So, once you get done with analyzing our full Volleyball Legends styles tier list, make sure you stack those yens and Style Spins, otherwise you're going to be stuck with Hinoto and Tonoko for all eternity.

All Volleyball Legends Styles Ranked

full volleyball legends styles tier list

I'm rating styles here with all positions in mind. Don't get me wrong—this Volleyball Legends styles tier list is a bit skewed towards Secret and Godly styles, but that doesn't mean you should spend yen or Robux like a madman. You can easily grind a bit for Nichigoya or Tsuzichiwa, but Saguwuru and Tonoko will be serviceable once you master dumping and setting the ball. After that, I'd go for a Godly style and only grind for Butoku, Kageyomo or Oigawa once you have enough Style Spins and Yen. It's a process, but I'd also encourage you to play around and experiment with new styles. I loved comparing serving in particular. Now, let's get into more detail about each tier.

S Tier Volleyball Legends Styles

You're gonna have to spend a lot of time grinding for these Volleyball Legends styles, but the sheer overpoweredness of Butoku and Timeskip Kagayomo, in particular, makes it all worth it. Start slow and focus on styles with at least average Block, Set and Speed stats, as they'll get you out of any hole.

Style Drop chance Info
full volleyball legends styles tier list 0.1% The first available Secret style and the only one with the Tilt ability. Outstanding Blocker and Spiker, so much such that the lackluster serve isn't an issue.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 0.1% Hinoto's evolved version, this Style is my favorite for spiking alongside Sanu. You can camp by the net without too many issues.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 0.49% Despite the higher drop chance, Butoku's Block and Jump overpoweredness really take it to the next level.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 0.1% By fat the best Server in the game, but I was sort of include to put it into a tier because of the low Bump and Spike.

A Tier Volleyball Legends Styles

I wouldn't say this part of the Volleyball Legends tier list is overpowered, but it's pretty much a guaranteed win if you have a good team with at least one or two styles that are OP in a particular category. I mean, Kuzee's jump is simply bonkers.

Style Drop chance Info
full volleyball legends styles tier list 0.49% If you want a strong Server but aren't willing to roll for Timeskip Kagayomo, this is the one. The Jump is an added bonus, too.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 0.49% If I had to pick the most versatile entry on this Volleyball Legends styles tier list, this would be the one. The Set and Serve combo is a rare and desirable one for a utility player.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 2% Athleticism embodied, this particular style combines Block and Jump with a surprisingly decent Dive to dominate.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 2% If you ignore the lack of Speed, you can appreciate the fact that 5/8 stats are above average, making it a rival to Kagayomo in terms of versatility.

B Tier Volleyball Legends Styles

Logic would dictate this is the "mid" category, but the truth is, I would still consider these good because of how big C-tier is. Nevertheless, I was able to bump the opponents to oblivion with Yomomute and Kosumi, and they work really well in composition with styles that are good at spiking, like Butoku or Kuzee.

Style Drop chance Info
full volleyball legends styles tier list 2% While the Speed and Jump are decent, the Serve is pretty much putrid and I can attest to the fact it can single-handedly sabotage a game.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 35% I'd say this is the best bang for your buck and a style you can easily hang onto after level 10, too. The Jump, Block and Set are outstanding, all at a reasonable drop rate.
2% What's with these Legendary styles and the low Serve? The Dive and Speed more than make up for it, though.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 2% Low set and low speed make you want to camp at the net the whole game, but is the Block good enough to be useful? It depends, if you ask me.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 2% Don't get me wrong, the Bump and Spike are outstanding, but the Set and Serve leave a lot to be desired.

C Tier Volleyball Legends Styles

Now this is where the true mid is, due to the lack of too many unusable styles. Most of the time, you'll begin the game with this, and I would consider them decent until level 7-8. That's where you should keep your eyes fixated on S-tier and A-tier styles.

Style Drop chance Info
full volleyball legends styles tier list 2% The lack of Serve and Spike are complicating things, otherwise it would be a shoo-in for B-tier.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 35% I simply hate styles with low Spike, unless they're defensively sound, which is not the case here.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 35% Half the stats are okay, while the other are average. Also, speaking from personal experience, two or more Ojiris on a team is disastrous.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 62.5% Pretty much the same story as Ojiri, except the Bump is terrible and the Spike will definitely get you out of some sticky situations.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 35% By far the worst Rare style, as it doesn't really diffet much from Saguwuru, nor is it that much better than Yamegushi.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 62.5% The starting style. Not much to complain about, not much to praise. Completely mid.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 62.5% You're basically taking a Hinoto and creating a version that's better at spiking.

D Tier Volleyball Legends Styles

With Haibo being a terrible server and Yamegushi being so useless, I can't really understand why anyone would play them. Steer clear of them and immediately reroll. In fact, I'd go so far that you shouldn't play more than one game with this part of the Volleyball Legends styles tier list.

Style Drop chance Info
full volleyball legends styles tier list 62.5% Great for defense, but absolutely useless on offense. Can be a liability without the right team around it.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 62.5% The Serve and Spike are nonexistent, while everything else, except Jump is average at best. Should be avoided at all costs.
full volleyball legends styles tier list 62.5% If you're playing at a high level, this low of a Set stat will prevent your entire team from progressing. I played one game and ditched it.

There you have it—my Volleyball Legends styles tier list was a doozie, but now you know which of the 23 to avoid completely. But before you start grinding seriously, make sure you understand all the Volleyball Legends abilities and how to combine them all to both shine as a spiker, bumper or server, or set teammates up.

Hard Leather in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Hard Leather is one of the trickiest ingredients to obtain in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Unlocking it requires peeling back layers of builds, and even then, you might not have the necessary Tannery slots. Here's how to make Hard Leather and navigate the challenges that come with crafting this rare material.

How to make Hard Leather in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

You can make Hard Leather using the Tanner's Kit. It might seem a bit confusing since the recipe says to use a Tannery. However, the Tannery build only has one crafting slot, while the Hard Leather recipe requires two, which the Tanner's Kit provides. After you've obtained this build, use one Adhesive and two Leathers to make Hard Leather in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

Hard Leather recipe in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Adhesive must be made with Swamp Tar, found in the Whispering Swamp. As for Leather, simply toss some animal hide scraps onto the Tannery and let the process work. Combine the two to get the Hard Leather, a resource much more resilient than standard Leather. Use it to enhance your gear and increase your survivability.

How to unlock and craft Tanner's Kit in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

If you aren't sure how to make the Tanner's Kit, let's go over the resources:

  • 6 Bronze Bar
  • 6 Coarse Thread
  • 6 Adhesive
  • 18 Ash Plank

Of all the Tanner's Kit resources, Bronze Bar is the most crucial, as it unlocks the recipe. Even if you have the other materials, the kit won't appear in your Recipes list until you acquire the Bronze Bars. You may also need to be at a specific level within the Construction skill, which gradually increases as you build items and structures.

Each resource required for Tanner's Kit can be relatively challenging to get, considering that they all correlate to a particular crafting station. I've broken down the necessary recipes you need and bolded the ingredients that unlock the build:

Tanner's Kit Required Resources How to Make Required Crafting Station Crafting Station Recipe
Bronze Bar Tin and Copper Ore Furnace 24 Stone
8 Clay
4 Charcoal
10 Fire Rune
8 Vault Shard
Coarse Thread Coarse Animal Fur Spinning Wheel 12 Ash Logs
4 Flax
2 Stone
Adhesive Swamp Tar Kiln 8 Ash Logs
20 Stone
6 Clay
10 Fire Rune
Ash Plank Ash Logs Sawmill 18 Ash Logs
4 Bronze Bar
8 Stone

First, set your sights on the Coarse Thread and Adhesive, which you can get pretty early on when looting from animals and roaming the Whispering Swamp. The Bronze Bar and Ash Plank are where things get more challenging, mostly because getting them means venturing into dangerous territory.

You must get Vault Shards from the formidable Vaults (marked with blue icons on the map) to unlock the Furnace for Bronze Bars. It's essential to come prepared, as it will force you to battle enemies who will drop the shards.

Building the Tanner's Kit
Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll also need to prepare yourself for the following stage, where you must acquire Tin and Copper Ore from the treacherous Fractured Plains. These two ores are used to craft Bronze Bars, unlocking new recipes beyond just the Tanner's Kit, such as the Sawmill, Loom, and Smithing Forge. With Bronze Bars in hand, you're ready to tackle the final step: building the Sawmill and producing those essential Ash Planks. Now, you can pat yourself on the back for making it this far and reward your efforts by making the Hard Leather.

RuneScape Dragonwilds vault door

It's official: RuneScape characters are now part-time vault hunters. As you explore Ashenfall, collect resources, and progress through RuneScape Dragonwilds' questline, you'll notice crafting recipes requiring Vault Shards and Cores. You may pick them up during your travels without knowing how to use them.

What are these mysterious items? Are they rare and useful materials to keep in a storage crate for emergencies, or should you use them right away? That's what we're here to answer. Let's talk about how to find Vault Shards and Cores in RuneScape Dragonwilds and what you can use them for.

How to find Vault Shards and Cores in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Your first step to finding Vault Shards and Cores is to dive into a vault. You'll find one vault in every region of Ashenfall, where you'll find Vault Shards from defeating its guardians and Cores from completing the dungeon.

Runescape Dragonwilds Vault Shard
Screenshot by Destructoid

Inside every vault, you'll find branching paths, obstacles to overcome, and Vault Guardians to defeat. Vault Guardians are large, intimidating elementals that patrol a dungeon's hallways and guard important points of interest. Defeating one grants you some Vault Shards alongside Rune Essence and stone.

Another way to get Vault Shards is to open treasure chests inside dungeons. As you explore vaults, you'll occasionally find chests containing crafting blueprints and miscellaneous materials, with some holding Vault Shards. You're not guaranteed to find them in every chest, but every dungeon usually has at least one that holds a few shards.

RuneScape Dragonwilds vault map
Screenshot by Destructoid

At the end of every vault are multiple Vault Guardians and a Vault Core on a pedestal. You have two options for tackling this: swoop in and grab the core before running away, or defeat the guardians before claiming your prize. Dying in a vault will teleport you to your home bed and place your items in a Gravestone outside the dungeon entrance, so it's up to you if you want to take that risk. Otherwise, if you're confident in your combat abilities, you can jump right in and take every guardian out before taking the Vault Core.

How to use Vault Shards and Cores in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Vault Shards and Cores have separate purposes. You'll need Cores to build Lodestones, letting you fast-travel across the map if you have at least one more place elsewhere. Vault Shards are also a valuable building resource, particularly when creating a Furnace for smelting ores.

Lodestone recipe

Here are the exact resources you need to build a Lodestone:

  • Stone (32)
  • Rune Essence (20)
  • Vault Core (1)

Vault Cores are the hardest resource to come by in this list. Both stone and Rune Essence are abundant in the early game, with Rune Essence also appearing frequently in dungeons.

Furnace recipe

Furnaces are much trickier to make than Lodestones. Here are the materials you need to build one:

  • Stone (24)
  • Clay (8)
  • Charcoal (4)
  • Fire Rune (10)
  • Vault Shard (8)

While Stone is easy to come by, Clay is only available in Whispering Swamp, with Charcoal created using a Kiln. Fire Runes are also tricky initially, requiring either level 13 Runecrafting to make at a Rune Altar or enough goblin pouches to get lucky and score 10 or more. If you're not high enough in Runecrafting, make some extra Air and Astral Runes until you reach this level or beat up a bunch of goblins for their pouches.

Marvel Rivals costume colors for Magik, Psylocke, Luna Snow, and Winter Soldier

Marvel Rivals' latest addition to its in-game store is set to be available tomorrow, but further details about what the "Costume Customization" feature will entail aren't clear.

NetEase Games confirmed that the recently announced feature will be arriving as part of an update in the early morning hours of April 17. The update will bring "fresh palettes" for certain costumes and heroes in the game. So, basically, they are recolors.

https://twitter.com/MarvelRivals/status/1912536469614330159

Pricing on the recolors were not announced ahead of time, but they will be purchasable presumably on an individual level once they are live in the store. For this week's drop, there is the Rosy Resilience color for Magik's Punkchild costume, Phantom Purple color for Psylocke's Vengeance costume, Plasma Pulse color for Luna Snow's Mirae 2099 costume, and Winter's Wrath color for Winter Soldier's Revolution costume.

This feels like a missed opportunity for Marvel Rivals, and one of the few missteps the game has had since launch. All of the heroes have a palette swap for their default skin, so it seems like this will just be another version of that for select costumes in the game that NetEase deems "your favorite costumes."

It would've been a bit cooler if the palette swaps worked like shaders for each costume in the game, allowing you to swap the colorway of several skins instead of just recolored skins. If they function as other recolors, these new ones will cost around 600 Units. And that's fine, as it's entirely optional, but I do wish the game did something a bit different this time around.

It's yet to be determined how costume recolors are chosen, but it appears that they may just be added to the store periodically and function as new skins rather than a different feature. We'll see what's new or different about the costume colors when they go live early tomorrow morning.

phainon and constance from hsr

Multiple new leaks have been shared online that show the names of all the characters expected to be released between Honkai Star Rail 3.4 and 3.8 updates. This includes some popular names, such as Phainon, Cyrene, and even Saber and Archer from the Fate/Stay Night UBW collab.

Read on for more details on the character roadmap leaks for HSR 3.4 to 3.8 updates.

All new characters in HSR 3.4 to 3.8 leaked

Version 3.4

phainon, saber, and archer in hsr 3.4
Image via HoYoverse and Type-Moon

Version 3.4 of Honkai Star Rail is expected to be huge as it will likely feature the long-awaited collab with Fate/ Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. According to the leaks shared by @_hiragara_, you can look forward to the release of the following characters:

  • Phainon (5-star Physical - Destructoid)
  • Saber (5-star Wind - Destruction)
  • Archer (5-star Quantum - The Hunt)

Phainon is one of the highly anticipated characters in HSR. Leaks suggest that he will be a 5-star Physical character following the Path of Destruction. In addition, version 3.4 may release Saber and Archer as part of the HSR x FSN UBW collab. Both are expected to be 5-star characters. However, Saber is rumored to be a Wind unit following the Path of Destruction, while Archer follows the Path of The Hunt and may become the first male Quantum unit.

Interestingly, players will also likely get a free copy of Archer for the collab event.

Version 3.5

Hysilens and cerydra in honkai star rail

Hysilens and Cerydra are members of the Chrysos Heirs and are rumored for a release in Honkai Star Rail 3.5. The former is speculated to be a 5-star Physical unit that follows the Path of Nihility, while the latter is a 5-star Harmony character. Unfortunately, there's no info on Cerydra's potential element as of this writing.

Version 3.6

new versions of march 7th and dan heng will be in hsr 3.6

HSR 3.6 will be an interesting update since the leaks only hint at two new playable characters, both alternate versions of existing ones: March 7th and Dan Heng. March 7th's element will remain Ice, but her new version will follow the Path of Remembrance. Meanwhile, Dan Heng's new self is called Terravox, a 5-star Fire unit following the Path of Preservation.

Version 3.7

cyrene might release in honkai star rail 3.7

As of this writing, version 3.7 of HSR is expected to release only one new character named Cyrene. Similar to March 7th's new version, Cyrene is also a 5-star Ice unit that follows the Path of Remembrance.

Version 3.8

constance will likely release in hsr 3.8

Lastly, HoYoverse might release Constance in Honkai Star Rail 3.8. She was originally introduced as a minor antagonist before Penacony was released. Unfortunately, there's no info on her element and Path as of writing, but more details should be available when the update gets closer.

At any rate, the character roadmap is simply based on leaks, so it is subject to change.

Recent leaks from reliable sources have shared the details on the rerun banners and new characters in Genshin Impact 5.6 and 5.7 updates. You can look forward to an Archon rerun and the long-awaited release of a highly anticipated character in the game.

Read on for more details about the upcoming Genshin Impact 5.6 and 5.7 banners.

New characters and rerun banners in Genshin Impact 5.6 and 5.7 leaked

Version 5.6

According to the leaks via user HomDGCat on Reddit, here are all the characters expected to be on the banners in Genshin Impact 5.6:

  • New - Escoffier (5-star Cryo)
  • Raiden Shogun (5-star Electro)
  • Kinich (5-star Dendro)
  • Navia (5-star Geo)
  • New - Ifa (4-star Anemo)
  • Lynette (4-star Anemo)
  • Kujou Sara (4-star Electro)
  • Thoma (4-star Pyro)
  • Layla (4-star Cryo)

Escoffier and Ifa are already confirmed for a release in version 5.6, thanks to the official drip marketing. The former is expected to be a strong hybrid Cryo sub-DPS and support unit that excels in healing and buffing her party members, especially if they are all of the Hydro and Cryo elements. Meanwhile, Ifa is rumored to be another Anemo healer with decent exploration abilities.

As for the rerun banners, Navia, Kinich, and Raiden Shogun are expected to make their return. Raiden's rerun banner is surprising because she already got her Archon rerun in version 5.0. Additionally, Thoma, Layla, Kujou Sara, and Lynette will be featured on the limited banners.

Unfortunately, the banner order is currently unknown, but Escoffier will likely be in the first phase since she is the only new 5-star character in Genshin Impact 5.6.

Version 5.7

Leaks from Genshin LeakFlow and Full Stop Chan on Reddit suggest version 5.7 will finally release Dahlia and Skirk as playable characters. Dahlia was first mentioned in Rosaria's drip marketing post but has yet to make an appearance in the game. There's not much known about him outside of how he's a deacon from the Knights of Favonius. He's expected to be a 4-star unit that uses a Sword.

On the other hand, Skirk is speculated to be a 5-star Cryo character. She's a mysterious swordswoman and Childe's master who made her first appearance in Genshin Impact 4.2 during the Fontaine Archon Quest. According to Skirk's leaked kit, she is a main DPS unit that relies on her enhanced Normal Attacks and Elemental Burst to deal damage, and excels in teams with Hydro and Cryo characters.

Skirk's and Dahlia's release in Genshin Impact 5.7 also makes sense since they're the only two characters left from the silhouettes revealed during the version 5.3 livestream.
