It's been over six years since the Onimusha: Warlords remaster released on modern platforms. Certainly long enough that I had given up hope of seeing sequels get a similar treatment. That was a little heartbreaking, as I always felt Capcom didn't truly start finding its feet until the second game. I suppose I just needed a little patience, as earlier in 2025, the company announced a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny. I previewed the PC version of the game, and it appears to be just the tempering this particular blade needed.
The most obvious difference is one you can see with your own eyes. You can play Onimusha 2 in widescreen if you want, and every aspect of the visuals has been spiffed up to a shine. Just how good everything still looks is a testament to the original game with a bit of spit polish. The details in the backgrounds come alive with the new crispness, and the polygonal models wear their new higher resolution rendering with pride. Protagonist Jubei Yagyu, featuring the likeness of the late legendary actor Yusaku Matsuda, looks especially good.
![]()
With that said, the improvements in Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny go deeper than mere cosmetics. All of the control options seen in the remaster of the first game are here, so you can avoid tank controls if you like and switch weapons without fiddling around in menus. Unlike in the original PlayStation 2 release, you can choose when you want to use your Onimusha transformation. Once you collect the requisite five purple souls, you can trigger it at your leisure. This might seem like a small thing, but if you've played this game you know how annoying it is to have the timing of your powered-up form basically left to chance.
The biggest addition here for veterans of the original game is the new Hell Mode. Hard's too lenient for you? You mastered the Issen critical counter to the point that even Critical difficulty is a breeze? Hell Mode is for you. In it, all it takes is a single hit to kill you. Yes, toss all those recovery items into the trash. They've got no use here. You need nothing less than a perfect defense to survive this ultimate challenge. But hey, if you have the true soul of a samurai and never fail your Issen strikes, you shouldn't be taking any hits anyway, right? Hell Mode is an absolute thrill, and it's an excellent new way to play this game.
![]()
You may or may not remember the Gallery from the PlayStation 2 game. It's back with all of the included art enhanced for cleaner viewing. You get 100 new pieces to gawk at, and you can also listen to the soundtrack. This seems like the right place to mention the one step back this remaster takes from the original. Capcom removed Hotei's awesome "Russian Roulette" song, taking the music video and behind-the-scenes footage with it. I suppose a person could just go watch it on YouTube to pump themselves up, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it.
There are some other small quality-of-life improvements that I appreciated. You can skip the cutscenes, even if it's your first time through the game. It's helpful if you don't have a whole lot of interest in the story. The Easy difficulty setting is available from the get-go, and that's handy if you just want to enjoy the experience and don't want to deal with too much opposition. However you might feel about the value of the story, you'll surely enjoy the new auto-save feature. It's nothing revolutionary, but the original game is more than good enough to not need much more than little tweaks.
![]()
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny has always been a bigger, better sequel that built on the original in a lot of great ways, and my time with this remaster left me optimistic that it will carry that legacy forward. It's fascinating to go back to this game, as its parry-heavy mechanics make it feel more like a new release than a decades-old treasure. The improvements make the game better without fundamentally changing it, and the new Hell Mode serves as an enticing temptation for those who have played the wheels off the original. It's looking like a fine appetizer for the upcoming new installment.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny will be available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on May 23, 2025.

The first seasonal event in Monster Hunter Wilds has begun with the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance. As the world blossoms with festive energy, new rewards and challenges await. Among them are the coveted armor sets, and we'll show you exactly how to unlock every piece of Blossomdance gear.
Table of contents
How to get Festival of Accord armor in MH Wilds
\You can collect exclusive Festival of Accord: Blossomdance armor sets by exchanging event tickets in the Monster Hunter Wilds Grand Hub. If you have yet to unlock the Grand Hub feature, speak to Tetsuzan at Suja while at Hunter Rank 16. In return, you'll gain access to this hub, and you can reach it by traveling through Suja's Peaks Back Gate or by simply using your World Map.
Tickets are earned through daily logins and participation in special, limited-time Event Quests. For the most part, you'll be able to tell which quests reward Blossom Tickets, as they're usually shown in the mission reward previews. You can also earn special tickets from Daily Limited Bounties and the Provision Stockpile. However, the Provision Stockpile won't always have these tickets available.

The event doesn't even stop with your Hunter. The Seikret mount and Alma are also getting new looks with themed gear tailored for the season.
All available Festival of Accord: Blossomdance armor
Below is a full breakdown of the Blossomdance armor sets available during the event and how to add them to your collection:
Alma's Spring Blossom Kimono is the easiest to get, as it instantly unlocks for those participating in the seasonal events.

On the other hand, the remaining armor sets will take some time to gather, either through the luck of the draw with daily logins or the challenging Event Quests. If you've earned them through the Event Quests, you can exchange your Blossom Ticket at a nearby Smithy, unlocking a spring-themed gear set for your Hunter or Palico.
![]()
A select few armor sets have a unique feature attached to them. For instance, anyone who wears the Sakuratide α series will gain Blossom Barrel Bombs and reward tickets from various quests.
It's crucial to earn all these rewards before the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance event ends, which will conclude on May 6 at 4:59 pm PT/7:59 pm ET/11:49 pm UTC. Once it's over, you'll still have a chance to gather specific content through the event's DLC Pack—but it will come at a cost. Did you know that the Elder Scroll 4 Oblivion Remastered has weapon and armor durability? Not only that, but the original also has this feature. It depletes quickly, too, causing your gear to decrease in overall effectiveness. Fortunately, it's just as easy to repair items once you learn how to.
At first, you won't have any ways to repair armor and weapons in Oblivion Remastered. As you progress through the tutorial and make your way to your first town, you'll unlock several methods to fix your gear, making it much easier to keep everything in pristine shape.
Table of contents
How to repair items in Elder Scroll 4 Oblivion Remastered
Oblivion Remastered offers two ways to repair weapons and armor:
If you want to save money, you can find Repair Hammers around the world that you can pick up and use to fix your gear. Alternatively, if you don't mind spending some cash, you can visit any city's blacksmith or armor merchant and pay them to do it for you.
How to use a Repair Hammer
Your first option is exploring Cyrodiil until you find Repair Hammers. You'll mainly find them inside chests and as loot from fallen foes, but you can also purchase them from merchants.
Once you acquire a Repair Hammer, use it while it's in your inventory to create a Repair menu. Here, you can select the armor piece or weapon you want to fix. If you succeed, you'll raise the item's durability without breaking your hammer. Otherwise, its durability will still go up, but you'll lose the hammer in the process, requiring you to use another if you want to make additional repairs.
![]()
Your success rate and the item types you can repair depend entirely on your Armorer skill. Alongside a general passive buff of lowering the odds of your hammer breaking, you'll also gain the following benefits:
While new characters who lack proficiency in armor repairs will often break their hammers, masters in this craft can use one for the remainder of their playthrough. Similarly, while the normal maximum durability is 100, a Level 75 Expert Armorer can raise it to 125 durability, improving your weapon's damage or armor's shielding stats.
If you want to power-level your skills, be sure to check out our complete guide to Oblivion Remastered's leveling system.
How to use Blacksmiths and merchants
If you don't want to invest much time or effort into finding Repair Hammers or run out midway through your repairs, you can visit any blacksmith or armour merchant to get them to do it for you. Most heavy armor, weapon, and blacksmith shop owners will do the job, with some early game examples including Urbul gro-Orkulg at the Imperial City's Slack 'N Smash, the two merchants in The Best Defense, and Rasheda over in Chorrol's Fire and Steel.
![]()
Rather than using Repair Hammers, these merchants charge coins for repairing your gear. This increases your durability to 100 percent, and the exact price is determined by the item's current durability.
What does durability do in Elder Scroll 4 Oblivion Remastered?
Durability directly affects your weapon's damage and armor's shield rating in Oblivion Remastered. As your durability decreases, your damage and armor rating will also drop, making it much harder to survive in battles. In contrast, raising your durability will return your damage and armor values to their usual numbers. Reaching Master Armorer lets you increase durability beyond 100, raising your gear's stats.

The Business Turret has made a comeback in Fortnite Chapter Six, season two to provide you with an additional layer of protection, especially when you run out of ammo.
Here's everything you need to know about finding this consumable in the second season of Chapter Six.
Table of contents
How does a Business Turret work?
The Business Turret is a deployable item that gets fixed and then locks and shoots at nearby opponents. It has a range of 60 meters and deals seven damage for every shot that lands successfully on an enemy.
How to get a Business Turret in Fortnite
In Fortnite Chapter 6, season two, looting the treasure chests is the best chance of getting a Business Turret. For that, you have to land at the hotspots on the map, as those POIs have the highest number of chests lying around.
![]()
The other sure-shot way of getting this consumable of Epic rarity is by crafting it by spending 600 Gold Bars at the Rouge Repairs Black Market. You need to head northeast of Masked Meadows to find the place for crafting.
Of course, you can find this item as ground loot as well, but the chances of doing so are much slimmer than looting chests or by crafting it.
How to use the Business Turret
Since the Business Turret is a deployable item, all you need to do is throw it on the ground like any other item, and it will start working the way it's intended. You can use only one Turret at a time, though; placing the second one will automatically destroy the first turret placed. However, you can carry more than one Turret in your inventory.
Business Turret stats in Fortnite
Here's what the stats of the Business Turret look like in Fortnite:
The Business Turret was first introduced with Chapter Four, season four, and now it has made a comeback in Chapter Six, season two as well.
With that said, you can check out our guide with all the weekly quests in Fortnite Chapter Six, season two and how to complete them.

In most RPG games, it's obvious when you gain a level. A giant burst of colors fills the screen, a guitar riff wails, and the words "Level up!" blast your screen. The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered is a little different than most games, though.
![]()
It looks like you have a typical experience bar, but it doesn't just fill up for cutting down rats and wolves. You gain experience by increasing your Major Skills. Once you've gained enough points, you'll get an emblem that shows you you've got a level waiting for you. It's not immediate, however. You'll need to find a place to sleep and reflect upon your day. Usually, the inn of a major city works. Anywhere you find a nice bed should do the trick, though.
Once you sleep, you'll get your level up screen with a list of attributes to put points into. Luck can only go up by one, everything else you can slot up to five points in. You can also only select three attributes to put points into per level.
How to level fast in Oblivion
![]()
The question is: which skills can you level the fastest? It depends on what Major Skills you took at creation. If you took Athletics, RUN! Or swim, just keep moving in a difficult manner until you see those skills go up. A high Acrobatics skill means you need to just keep jumping. Blocking and magic casting can also go quickly, as they require you to... block and cast! The chart below highlights which skills you might want to focus on.
Keep in mind, however, that the world levels up with you. Rather than dumping everything into one skill, you'll want to keep yourself fairly even amongst your favored skills. An athletic warrior won't be doing much damage if you forget to boost your strength.

There are plenty of updated mechanics and features in the Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered, but the lockpicking system isn't one of them. The remaster uses the same style of lockpicking from the original game, but veterans might notice it's a little bit tougher to pick locks this time around.
To see exactly how lockpicking works and how to improve your success rate in Oblivion Remastered, check out the guide below.
How to lockpick in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered
Let's get the basics of the lockpicking system out of the way before we go too deep into the weeds.
First, there are several different types of locks in Oblivion Remastered. They range from "Very Easy" to "Very Hard," and the type of lock you're trying to pick determines how difficult it will be to succeed. Regardless of the lock you're picking, you'll need at least one "Lockpick" item in your inventory to enter the lockpicking screen. Lockpicks are located all around Cyrodiil, and they're also sold by a majority of the merchants in the game. To find more, simply explore various caves, buildings, and entrances to new locations or visit a merchant's shop and look at their inventory.
![]()
With a lockpick in your inventory, you can now approach a lock and attempt to pick it. The lockpicking screen shows a lock with five different slots and tumblers. Your job is to lock each one of the tumblers into place within its slot. The number of tumbles you have to lock into place is determined by the type of lock you're trying to pick.
For example, a "Very Easy" lock only has one tumbler to secure, while a "Very Hard" lock requires you to secure all five tumblers into place. If you have a lock with more than one tumbler to secure, you can't mess up on any of the tumblers. If you mess up on a single tumbler, all of them reset, even the ones you've already secured. This means you can go through heaps of lockpicks as you try and secure each tumbler.
With the basics out of the way, let me explain how to lockpick successfully in Oblivion Remastered:
![]()
It'll take quite a few tries to get the timing of the tumblers down when lockpicking. My advice is to find a "Very Hard" or "Hard" lock and quicksave before trying to lockpick it. This way, you're able to continually practice your lockpicking without having to worry about wasting lockpicks, as you can reload the quicksave every time you run out.
Generally, the "Very Easy" and "Easy" locks won't require a ton of time or lockpicks. However, as you start to find more challenging locks, you'll want to make sure you save before each one to ensure you don't go through all of the lockpicks in your inventory.
As long as you understand the timing of the tumblers, how to read the speed patterns of them, and when to secure them, you'll be able to lockpick just about any lock in Oblivion Remastered.

Destructoid Tuesday, April 22, 2025 6:28 PM Oblivion Remastered shadow drop creates wild Twitch hype on surprise launch day, and for good reason
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered's long-rumored shadow drop actually happened today, and it's been quite an event for gamers regardless of if they played the original. Or if they're playing or watching.
Not long after it launched this morning, Oblivion Remastered jumped to near the top of Twitch with over 400,000 viewers, past ever-present games like Grand Theft Auto V, Fortnite, and Warzone. The surprise game's directory was full of all sorts of channels and streamers, from former FPS pro Shroud, to Fortnite megastar Rubius, and variety gamers like Lirik and MOONMOON.
![]()
The Elder Scrolls is one of a handful of series that could drop a title out of nowhere and take over viewership and community discussion with little advance notice, and I think it's important to talk about how rare it is for an event like this is.
A well-established franchise like this, dropping a remaster of one of the most beloved games in one of gaming's most famous series period, and doing it as a shadow drop has created a truly unique event. At almost 20 years old, it feels like there's just as many people hyped to play Oblivion or watch it for the first time as there are those who are excited to re-live a favorite.
For example, myself. I'm 36 and Oblivion was out right in my teenage gaming years, but I never found myself playing it or even interested in it at that time. Now, even with a plate full of other games to play and work to do, I'm about to boot the game up on Game Pass to see what all the hype has been about for so long. That's just another cool layer of this story today, as those who subscribe to the service can just boot it up for (what feels like) totally free.
And for those who are viewing on Twitch or YouTube or elsewhere, their shared interest further illustrates how out of the ordinary today has felt when it comes to game releases, hype, and just an awareness of excitement on such a wide scale in a community that's oftentimes quite scattered.
![]()
The combination of all of these different facets of today's event makes it really stand out, because this sort of thing just doesn't happen very often.

Oblivion Remastered is now available on all platforms, but the launch has been a bit problematic for some players attempting to jump into the Bethesda RPG.
There have been crashes in some situations for those playing on PCs. This guide will help players ensure there are no crashes and that they can play the game smoothly on their setups. This guide is mainly applicable for PC players since issues on consoles don't seem to be a thing as of the time of this writing.
Best Oblivion Remastered crash fixes and solutions
Most of the crashes seem to be happening when players are trying to load into the game. Some users have reported on Reddit that Oblivion Remastered gets stuck and closes automatically during the start-up. Here are some steps to take to solve the problem.
![]()
It appears Oblivion Remastered is like every other Bethesda launch (if you know what I mean). I am hopeful it won't usually take long for the developers to fix the issues this time around.

If you want to walk on the darker side of Cyrodil, all you have to do is join the Dark Brotherhood. That said, the secretive assassin group isn't exactly advertising its presence. Players will have to attract the attention of the Dark Brotherhood before it opens its doors to newcomers.
Oblivion Remastered brings Elder Scrolls IV into 2025 with the Unreal Engine, but content-wise it's by and large the same game previous players remember. In addition to the various quests and branching story objectives, there are heaps of optional factions and content to explore. Sword and board adventurers can join a Fighters Guild, spellcasters can pursue the Mages Guild, and even the rogues have the Thieves Guild. But what about the murderous psychopaths among us?
The Dark Brotherhood is the faction for those who don't really mesh with the rest of society. It's a group of cultish assassins whose killing is akin to worship. Since there are no guild halls, though, you can't just walk into a building and sign up for the Dark Brotherhood. Instead, you have to attract the curiosity of the group yourself.
Table of contents
A call from Lucien Lachance
![]()
Naturally, if you want to attract the attention of a group of assassins, you have to prove you can get your hands dirty. Players can attract the attention of the Dark Brotherhood by committing a murder. Any murder will do, so long as it's not someone who'd be aggressive towards you anyway, like a bandit. Of course, players should prepare for the potential fallout from the attack if the victim has any time to react or if they're near other NPCs.
Once someone is slain by your hand, text will appear onscreen noting, "Your killing has been observed by forces unknown." After that, players can find any enclosed room with a bed (like an inn's room) to sleep for at least one hour. You will awake in the presence of a man in black robes named Lucien Lachance. He'll greet you, noting, "You sleep rather soundly for a murderer."
Regardless of how you choose to react to the character, he'll identify himself as the Speaker of the Dark Brotherhood. Lucien notes how you've been selected as a potential initiate. All you have to do to complete the initiation is find and kill a man named Rufio. To aid in the task, the NPC offers intel that Rufio is located at the Inn of Ill Omen and provides the Blade of Woe to complete the job.
A Knife in the Dark
![]()
Players will get a marker for the Inn of Ill Omen on their map. It's located along the main road between the Imperial City and Bravil. The quickest way to reach the locale is to fast travel to Bravil's Bay Roan Stables and then hoof it from there. Once at the Inn, players can talk to the owner to learn that Rufio is downstairs through a hatch in the floor by the entryway.
Rufio will likely be asleep in bed when players stumble upon him. If you have any skill in Sneak, it should be enough to approach the man without waking him. If he does wake up, or players choose to talk to him, he may realize what will happen, depending on the dialogue choice. You should be ready to chase him and slash him down before he can make it back upstairs if that's the case. And, of course, make sure you're using the Blade of Woe.
Like before, Lucien wants to talk to players in a safe place. Thankfully, you're already in an inn, and those conditions can be met pretty easily. Players can either sleep in Rufio's bed or in the one in the next room over. Lucien will appear once again and congratulate you on joining the family. He'll instruct you to find the local Dark Brotherhood chapter hidden in Cheydinhal.
Inside the city, near the eastern wall, there's an abandoned house. Enter the basement and approach the black door. When asked a question, respond, "Sanguine, my Brother." Inside, seek Ocheeva, who'll start players down the path of the Dark Brotherhood in earnest.
