You can earn them in-game by completing Tower of Fantasy Claire's Dream Machine challenges or via limited-time events such as the Tower of Fantasy Aida Cafe, but these opportunities are few and far between. The most reliable way to acquire red nuclei is via the 'HOT' shop. A single Red Nucleus costs 150 Dark Crystals, so be prepared to save up 1,500 Dark Crystals for a ten-stack of Special Orders. But with so many different weapons, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellation upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging. Don't let the placement of the characters on our Genshin Impact tier list deter you from pulling on the next character banner. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds. In general, being on a high tier means that the character is the best Genshin Impact character in their role, is not too difficult to build, and performs well regardless of teammates. Being on a lower tier means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine. So, in keeping with dream logic: You've played Signalis before, and you've never played anything like it. It lovingly adopts the trappings of PS1-era survival horror, and more importantly, it fully understands why those systems, aesthetics, tropes, and technical limits are so engaging. But it also presents and explores love and loss, freedom and manipulation, fear and trauma, in its own cruelly captivating way. It's strange and familiar, gorgeous and horrible. It's an absolute banger of a videogame, made all the more impressive by its indiest of indies price tag and two-person dev team. Fundamentally, it's a love story. Things go bad for space technician Elster, but she made a promise she intends to keep. We'll get back to this later. First up: Signalis excels at capturing the essence of survival horror - those juxtaposed feelings of possibility and unease that hit you entering a long hallway, flanked by doors, only to find all but two locked or malfunctioning. You'll be back here soon enough, you know that. Probably with a new key. Maybe with a new gun. But there's also a good chance things will have…changed, by then. A floor tile might reveal new horrors. You might have spent your last bullet. So, left or right? Or maybe back? You can only carry six items, after all. |

The PlayStation VR 2 release date is here, as well as news about upcoming PSVR 2 games. Sony said PlayStation 5 owners will be able to begin using the new headset on February 22, 2023. However, pre-orders will open this month on November 15, 2022. It will cost $549.99 / €599.99 / £529.99 / ¥74,980, which gives people the headset, two Sense controllers, and stereo headphones. The release date announcement also included some details about other PSVR 2 options and accessories that will be available at launch. For example, there will also be a Horizon: Call of the Mountain bundle. This gives people everything in the base PSVR 2 bundle, but adds in a download code for the Horizon series spin-off. That will cost $599.99 / €649.99 / £569.99 / ¥79,980. There will also be a charging station for two Sense controllers. This allows you to place the PSVR 2 controllers on a dock to charge them. It will cost $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99 / ¥5,480. Finally, Sony announced a list of upcoming PlayStation VR 2 games. Here are the titles in development:

The polls are open. Google is now taking votes for the Google Play Best of 2022 Awards. As with previous years, users can vote for nominated titles (split between Apps and Games), with the winner being awarded the User's Choice Award for the year [Thanks, Denfaminico Gamer!]. To participate in the Google Play Best of 2022 voting, you need only log into your Google account and visit the Google Play Store on Android or via a web browser. There you should see a banner and a button to vote. The banner should look like this one below (as seen on Chrome). Clicking or tapping the vote button should allow you to cast a vote. Voting will last until November 14, 2022, with winners announced on November 30th.
For users in North America, the Google Play Best of 2022 User's Choice game nominees are as follows.

Square Enix revealed Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile will get a Persona 5 Royal crossover on November 4, 2022. Ren "Joker" Amamiya, Makoto "Queen" Niijima, and Morgana aka Mona will all appear in the game as units. Other characters like Ryuji "Skull" Sakamoto will show during the event story. Mementos will show up as a special dungeon. A crossover website is also open to show off the event quests and character art. First, here's art showing Mona with Winry. He'll be an SR unit and appear alongside his Persona Zorro. Everyone will get him for logging into the game. People will need to pull on the Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile gacha to get the other Persona 5 Royal units Joker and Queen. Both of them will be SSR units. Here's how Joker and Arsene will look during the crossover: To continue the trend, Queen will show up alongside Johanna. In 2022 alone, it showed up in Alchemy Stars, Last Cloudia, and NieR Reincarnation. Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile is available on Android and Apple iOS, and the Persona 5 Royal crossover will be active from November 4, 2022 until December 8, 2022. Back in May 2022 Sweden-based publisher Embracer Group acquired a handful of developers, including Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal, after Square Enix opted to sell off most of its overseas studios. Less than six months later, it has decided to shut down one of those studios outright: Square Enix Montreal. The move comes less than a month after the studio rebranded itself to become Onoma [Thanks, Bloomberg!]. In addition to Onoma, Embracer will also shut down its publishing QA team. All in all the closures are expected to impact about 200 people, though Embracer said it would look to match those affected with open positions elsewhere in the company and on other PC and console projects. Embracer said that of the former Square Enix assets, it intended to focus "future production capacities" on flagship studios like Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. Founded in 2011 as Square Enix Montreal, Onoma was originally intended to assist with console and PC projects, but pivoted to mobile development by 2013. Onoma was best known for developing the mobile-based Go series. They were puzzle game adaptations of popular properties then owned by Square Enix. These included Hitman Go, Lara Croft Go, and Deus Ex Go. The studio also developed Hitman Sniper, and as late as 2022 was working on further titles related to Hitman, Tomb Raider, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Sony released its financial results for the second quarter of the 2022 fiscal year (Q2 FY2022). In the three months ending on September 30, 2022, it saw a new sales milestone for the PlayStation 5. However, Sony financials also revealed a decline in its gaming-derived profit of nearly 49%, despite growth in overall revenue. Similarly, while revenue from the PS Plus subscription service grew, the service's membership population dropped by nearly 2 million subscribers. According to its Q2 FY2022 financials, Sony has sold over 25 million PS5s as of the beginning of October. During the quarter it sold over 3.3 million PS5 units globally, almost exactly the same number it sold during the same quarter last year. Revenue from those sales, however, was up by nearly 12% to 727 billion yen (about $4.93 billion USD), partially due to a price hike enacted in some regions. Profit from its gaming division, however, was down by nearly 49%, thanks to rising costs. Major contributors to those costs include the $3.6 billion USD acquisition of Destiny 2 developer Bungie, as well as rising development costs. For the overall Sony Group, however, profit was up about 8%. Stronger performance in music, imaging (for camera sensors, etc.), and other parts of the company offset the declines in games. PS Plus subscriptions over the quarter dropped to 45.4 million, down from 47.3 million in the previous quarter. This is the third quarter in a row that PS Plus subscriptions have declined. The PSN's monthly active user counts (i.e. the estimated total number of unique accounts that played a game or used services on PSN in the last month of the quarter) were also down to 102 million, the lowest number since 2020. In an earnings call Sony Chief Financial Officer Hiroki Totoki attributed the declines to lower-than-expected sales of third-party titles, as well as more people "going outside" thanks to changes in the pandemic situation. He anticipated a recovery in subscriber numbers over the next quarter, thanks to the impact of major releases like God of War Ragnarok and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Sony financials for the quarter also revealed that digital purchases now account for more than 63% of game sales. The company aims to ship 23 million PS5s within the next fiscal year beginning in April 2023. By comparison, the previous financial year saw Sony ship only 11.5 million PS5 units, down from the initial target of 14.8 million. The English-language version of Type-Moon's visual novel Witch on the Holy Night (a.k.a. Mahoutsukai no Yoru or Mahoyo) is available to pre-order. Product pages for the physical PS4 and Nintendo Switch Limited Editions went live on Amazon. The Amazon product page lists a release date of January 27, 2023, several weeks after the digital release set for December 8, 2022 [Thanks, Wario64!]. PSN Store and Nintendo Switch eShop pages are also not yet live. The Limited Edition of the game includes a special "Magician's Basic Tune" art book and a collector's box. A playable demo of Witch on the Holy Night is also expected sometime in November. The Twitter account PSN releases, which updates when new products are added to the PSN store, noted that a "Trial Version" of the game was added to the North American PSN catalog. Toby Fox, creator of Undertale and Deltarune, uploaded a new song titled "Skies Forever Blue." This was created in collaboration with Itoki Hana and OMOCAT. Toby provided the music and lyrics, while Itoki Hana performed the vocals and vocal arrangement. OMOCAT made the music video and art. Other people who worked on the video include Jules Conroy (FamilyJules) and SmallBu (SmallButera). Itoki Hana sang "Wa -cycle-" which was the ending theme of The Ancient Magus' Bride. Meanwhile, OMOCAT is the indie studio that developed and published Omori. Omori is an RPG that came out in 2020, with eventual ports to platforms like the Switch . The music video has a lot of retro video game vibes, which is reminiscent of OMOCAT's work in Omori. This is not the only musical project from Toby Fox that we will see in the latter months of 2022. The Oregon Trail will appear soon on Windows PC and Nintendo Switch. PC players will be able to get it either through the Microsoft Store or via Steam. While there is no concrete release date as of yet, we can expect to see it at the end of November 2022. The Oregon Trail is actually a series of games, and the first one came out in 1971. It is a mostly text-based educational adventure game in which the player assumes the role of a wagon leader of settlers. Your goal is to travel from Independence, Missouri to the Willamette Valley. Not only does this help to teach skills such as resource management and decision making, but it also helps to educate the player on what life was like for the 19th century pioneers. There are also mobile titles from the franchise. For example, Gameloft released The Oregon Trail HD for mobile devices in 2010, and another one for Apple Arcade in 2021. Though the different versions of the games all follow the same basic plot, there are some differences in how they handle mini-games or presentation. Fresh out of its Early Access period, Honey, I Joined a Cult isn't exactly what it seems. Instead of joining a cult, you run it. Build a base, gain followers, and watch your compound grow. It's a pretty straightforward management sim that gives you just enough freedom to create an endless loop of building and manipulating. I haven't played many cult-based games, but this one starts as expected. It opens with the SOB (think FBI) raiding a compound on the grounds of cult-like behavior and brainwashing. The leader gets off scot-free, as most people in these situations do, and goes on to start a new, more honest life… which lasts all of two seconds.
