Forgotten and mysterious Valve FPS based on Half-Life suddenly surges on Steam

Counter-Strike. Team Fortress. Dota 2. Left 4 Dead - Valve has a pretty strong pedigree when it comes to multiplayer games. Deadlock will add another page to the House of Gaben's online catalogue, but one vital chapter in the history of Valve's experiments has been forgotten. Supposedly released as part of a Half-Life update more than 20 years ago, Ricochet is a competitive FPS seemingly set inside a virtual reality - or maybe outer space. Obscure, mysterious, and often described as the worst game that Valve has ever made, if you're still eagerly waiting for Half-Life 3, we've got some even better news for you: Ricochet just hit a new all-time player count high on Steam.

Jurassic Park Survival release date estimate and latest news

What is the Jurassic Park Survival release date? This is the latest game taking on the Jurassic Park series, first announced at The Game Awards 2023. Jurassic Park Survival is an action-adventure game, leaning away from the previous Jurassic World Evolution sim management games, and it looks like instead of saving and protecting dinosaurs, we'll be trying to survive them.

The upcoming action-adventure game takes inspiration from Capcom's Dino Crisis to create an intense survival experience where anything can and probably will try to kill you. Jurassic Park Survival takes place immediately after the events of the original Jurassic Park story. As Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist who could not evacuate Isla Nublar when the dinosaurs broke out of their enclosures, it's up to you to find your way out of the park and evacuate from the island. Plenty will wonder if the dinosaur game will meet our wild collective expectations for a game like this.

When was the Atomfall release date? It might not be the full-scale nuclear war that we recognize from Fallout, but the disaster that takes place in Rebellion's new survival RPG has still left Britain in a bad way.

     Assassin's Creed Shadows seasons explained

Want to know how seasons work in Assassin's Creed Shadows? The latest AC game includes a new dynamic weather and seasonal system, and though it adds to the overall immersion and feel of the game, it also affects gameplay, too.

Each AC Shadows season lasts around two hours of gameplay in the RPG, with different states within the season, so the transition into each season isn't as jarring. You can view which season and how far you are into it by going to the AC Shadows map screen and looking at the compass in the top right-hand corner. The symbol in the middle indicating the season, and the ring around the edge telling you how far through the season you are.

The makers of cardy roguelike Monster Train 2 announced a release date yesterday, revealing that it'll be pulling into Steam libraries and honking its big "all aboard" horn in less than two months. Do you have the capacity to allow another deckbuilder into the overcrowded dining car of your brain? I probably don't. But I do have fond memories of the first game's crunchy runs and over-the-top card combos. Hmmm, maybe another rail trip or two hundred would be nice.

There are few things more heartwarming than a solo developer seeing breakout success, especially if their game is a wholesome testament to community spirit, entrepreneurship, and innovative street cleaning solutions like Schedule I. Pretty close, though, is a solo developer pulling a 'Miyazaki lying about Elden Ring', and underselling just how big their game actually is in the run-up to release.

Developer Tyler has been updating the bud flinging simulator steadily throughout the demo release and into the current early access, and they've also got a roadmap over at Trello here (featuring: raids, parkour, jukeboxes, and controller support among other things). Some of the most relevant communication is actually in the Steam forums though. Tyler revealed yesterday that he's currently working on getting the game Steam Deck verified. It's also where he first revealed the full list of planned sellables that are now in the roadmap (Marijuana, Meth, Cocaine, Shrooms, MDMA, and delicious + cool Heroin), with plans to take community suggestions once they're all in.

Workers in Schedule 1

Money is essential in Schedule 1, and getting a delivery bonus on your orders will help you accelerate the growth rate of your empire.

Typically, your customers will pay you the negotiated price once you supply them with the products. Just like in real life, timeliness is key. Make them wait too long, and your transaction will fail. Make the delivery quick, and you'll get a decent bonus on your order. This guide will help you make the most of your orders and earn extra cash.

Schedule 1 delivery bonus explained

Typically, you get six hours to complete a deal in Schedule 1. You have seven hours, as your clients always arrive an hour earlier. To get a delivery bonus, you'll have to deliver either during the one hour before the timer starts or in the first hour itself.

You can get a maximum bonus of $50; to do so, you'll have to deliver in the hour before your timer starts. The bonus money will be reduced if you miss out on that window. However, you'll still be able to make extra money by delivering within the first hour of the timer. While you can still deliver your product in the next five hours, missing out on the first hour will mean no bonus.

Delivery Bonus in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

Delivery bonuses can be reduced with time and can be as low as $5 if you only manage to sell the product at the end of the first hour after the deal timer begins. Ideally, you'll want to reach your customer before the time begins (to increase the bonus amount).

If you're someone who loves to take risks, there's another method to try out as well.

How to get Curfew Bonus in Schedule 1

The Curfew runs between 9 PM and 5 AM, and it's a risky move if you're looking to sell drugs. If the police catch you outside, they will want to arrest you (since you're breaking the Curfew). Schedule 1 still allows you to complete transactions at night and rewards you with Curfew Bonus.

The window for this bonus is much bigger as you're taking more risks. You can get your bonus by delivering your product anytime during the eight-hour window, and the amount is also bigger than the ordinary Delivery Bonus.

If you go down this route, just keep your escape strategy ready and prepare to be chased by the police. It's best to keep a minimal amount of banned substances on you because they will be taken away if you get caught. That way, you get to conduct your business while reducing the risks of a significant loss.

Schedule 1 Bungalow

Content Update 1 is expected to go live very soon on Schedule 1, providing players with plenty of new content.

The first week of the indie release has been a super hit, as it has notched up record numbers on Steam. Despite being managed by a single developer, players have received daily updates. These updates so far have focused on bug fixes and optimizations, but the upcoming content drop will involve the release of new stuff for players to enjoy.

Schedule 1 Content Update 1 release date

The first major content update 1 is expected to go live late on Friday, April 4, or around the early hours of April 5. This is based on Tyler's last post on X. For those who might not know, Tyler is the dev behind Schedule 1, and there have been routine updates about what they're working on. You can also find regular updates about hotfixes that have been pushed out on daily basis.

Based on their last post, we expect the update to go live this weekend. This will be great for new and older players alike, who will all get to enjoy new content. So far, mods have been the only option for the community to expand the vanilla experience. Plenty of mods have support for the full version, and here are my favorite selections for the players to try out.

https://twitter.com/Tyler_TVGS/status/1906988655513592058

What can you expect from Schedule 1 Content Update 1?

Content Update 1 seems to be more about cosmetic items that will help players decorate their base of operations. We have been teased about new decoration items that will fit onto walls and will likely feature paintings, lamps, clocks, and more.

Of course, more could be included in the update. The official Trello lists many innovative ideas about what will be included in future content updates. The roadmap includes adventurous additions like new regions, cartels, drugs, and more. Hence, those ideas could always be included in the first content update.

How to complete premium missions quickly

As you can see, most of the premium missions in Pokemon TCG Pocket simply require you to open packs, do Wonder Picks, and just collect cards. These are things you'll be doing on a daily basis in-game anyway, so you'll naturally knock out these missions as you play.

You can expend your Pack and Wonder Hourglasses to knock out the relevant missions quickly, though I'd recommend saving those for cards and packs you really want, especially if you're not a big spender. The trickier missions are the ones that require you to collect type-specific cards. If you happen to be targeting a particular booster pack, that set may have fewer Psychic-type cards for instance, making it harder for you to finish that mission.

That being said, you can always make up for it with Wonder Picks and spending Pack Points. With a month to complete the missions (and they unlock retroactively if you buy the premium pass late), you should have plenty of time for all of them.

How to use premium tickets

You'll be rewarded with plenty of premium tickets for your troubles, and these can be used to purchase exclusive cosmetic items in Pokemon TCG Pocket. To use them, click on the Shop button, then go to the Limited Time/Events tab, and tap on Premium.

From here, you'll be able to spend your premium tickets on any of the cosmetics you see. The premium missions will give you enough tickets to clear the shop for that month, so feel free to buy them in any order you wish.

Helldivers 2 boss says No Man's Sky's redemption arc inspired its own comeback

Despite feeling like it's been around forever, Helldivers 2 is still just over a year old. One of 2024's biggest and most surprising breakout hits, it continues to draw in huge crowds, deliver regular Warbonds, and throw some curveballs into its constantly evolving galactic battle. But despite its relative youth, the game has already gone through some turbulent patches that, at times, looked like they might sink the ship. Speaking in a new interview, the CEO of developer Arrowhead Games says that during its hellish summer, where community sentiment soured and its Steam rating dropped as low as 19%, it looked to No Man's Sky's famous redemption arc as motivation for its own comeback.

konami customer harassment

Konami has put out a statement defining what constitutes as customer harassment, as well as stating that it will protect its employees against it. The company will contact both the police and its lawyers to deal with such incidents.

Examples of customer harassment include:

  • Defamatory behavior and remarks
  • Intimidation
  • Offensive remarks
  • Physical violence
  • Threats
  • Unauthorized recording of employees, as well as the unauthorized distribution of such recordings

Comments telling the employees to kill themselves, as well as offensive remarks on their race or gender or religion, also fall under customer harassment.

Konami's rules against customer harassment take cues from a new ordinance against customer harassment that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government passed at the start of April 2025. It's the first of its kind in the country. These laws protect workers from customers who make aggressive and unreasonable demands, and the government released guidelines in December 2024 to define what constitutes as "customer harassment."

"Customer harassment" or "kasuhara" has been an ongoing problem in Japan for years. A potential reason for this is that companies always put the customer first, which results in entitled behavior in consumers. Japan is also famous for its high standards of hospitality. The high level of service customers come to expect may also make for unreasonable expectations.

Konami is not the first video game company to put out a warning defining customer harassment and vowing to protect its employees. Square Enix did the same thing earlier this year. But with this new ordinance from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, more companies may start to put their foot down in regards to abusive behavior towards their staff.

genshin impact ifa

HoYoVerse has shared the drip marketing for Ifa, who will be a playable character in Genshin Impact in a future update. There's no official information thus far on his rarity or his weapon, but he will be an Anemo character.

https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1907010058807812133

Ifa will mark the first playable Anemo character who uses the Tall Male model, as all previous male characters with this element used the smaller one. As for his in-game lore, Ifa is a Saurian veterinarian from the Flower-Feather Clan, and he's a friend of Ororon's. He also has Cacucu, a Qucusaurus assistant, with him, and you can see Cacucu in his splash art as well.

Johnny Loquasto voices him in English. He previously appeared as Glo in Reverse: 1999, but he's also a sports broadcaster for events like the WWE's NXT. In Chinese, Lu Shujun voices him. Lu's past roles include Hung in Arknights, as well as characters like Beer and Opera Cake in Food Fantasy. In Japanese, Junta Terashima voices him, replacing Showtaro Morikubo. Some of Terashima's past roles include Sugiura in Judgment and Yukimura in Inazuma Eleven Go.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Ifa will likely debut in the Genshin Impact Version 5.6 banner, which will go live on May 7, 2025.

Preview: Slime Rancher 2 Seems as Slimy as Ever

Slime Rancher 2 is one of those games that's been in early access for quite some time! That started back in September 2022, and we're gradually seeing Monomi Park add new slimes, regions, and elements to Rainbow Island. Now that the 0.6.0 patch dropped back in December 2024, we figured it's a good time to head back into the successor to the multiplatform indie to see how it is coming along. While some parts are still a bit fiddly, it seems like the team is making strong strides to offer more of what people loved so much about the first game.

Beatrix LeBeau is great a slime ranching. She's so good that she's sort of famous? At least, someone noticed, because a mysterious letter invited her to the Rainbow Islands. It's a haven filled with more types of slimes and all sorts of ruins. Since the nature of slime ranching does offer a lot of freedom, she doesn't question who might be contacting her, hops in a boat that showed up, and heads out to continue a colorful, capitalistic adventure involving the plorp slime droppings.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOI5tz7eZ5A&ab_channel=MonomiPark

The core gameplay in Slime Rancher 2 remains unchanged, which is good since the controls and concept are great to begin with. This is a first-person collecting experience. Your home base consists of a number of potential pens for slimes. If you have money, you can build and upgrade those, adding elements to keep slimes in and comfortable like higher walls, nets, auto-feeders, and auto-plorp-collectors. Likewise, you can outfit Beatrice with equipment that makes her more adept, if you can afford it. Your goal is to explore areas, with some locked away either by necessary progression elements or not being included in the early access build yet. These can include little bugs with recordings that offer more insight, or features that unlock more of your map. As you get to new places, additional types of slimes appear, meaning more profit due to their plorps. Especially if you feed one type of slime another type of plorp, turning it into a hybrid Largo that drops two plorps from each type to increase your potential profits.

The general theme here seems to be "more." Even in early access, I'm constantly seeing new types of slimes, new opportunities to explore bigger areas, and elements I want to interact with. When you first head into the wilds, you'll almost immediately happen upon the new Cotton Slime that looks like a rabbit. If you beat the Cotton Gordo variety, you can reach an area with the Flutter Slimes that look like butterflies. I especially like how some feel a bit more challenging to get, like the Ringtail Slime that I found I could really only get during the day if I was lucky enough to find one frozen like a tanuki statue. I did get a chance to peek at the new labyrinth in 0.6.0, and I appreciate how there are more puzzle elements to Slime Rancher 2 that really make it feel like you're exploring runes, overcoming challenges, and earning your right to see variants like the Siamese or Sleepy Slime.

I honestly didn't experience any technical issues. If anything, the two things that really are "telling" are the early execution and the fact that content is definitely isn't there yet due to gradual rollouts. In the case of the former, Slime Rancher 2 right now feels like a game that could be difficult to really "start" unless you already played the original game. There is a very hands-off approach to getting started. If you didn't already know how to get pens set up and upgraded, start building up Beatrice's equipment, and getting into the gameplay loop of catching slimes, bringing them "home," feeding them, selling the plorps, and reinvesting the money to do a better job of earning more money, someone just starting might be left flailing. I was shocked when it didn't even introduce the map in any way until I'd reached the first marker unlocking more of it. I really feel like the 1.0 release needs to make it more approachable for newcomers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVDx-_QAtQk&t=51s&ab_channel=MonomiPark

The other part is that you will reach a wall at some points, in terms of story and places to go, due to the fact that more places are gradually appearing. It's natural, in early access! It just means you play Slime Rancher for probably a few weeks, maybe a month, after each major update, then step back until another update arrives. It sort of seems like we're maybe getting two or three "major updates" per year, based on how 2023 and 2024 went. Since it's only in 0.6.0 at the moment, I personally suspect it'll be a 2026 release. So we're in a good place now for reminders every few months. Given that this is such a relaxed experience, I think it suits it.

I always considered Slime Rancher one of the more relaxed simulations, and I feel like Slime Rancher 2 is going to offer similar situations. We take our times acquiring slimes. We investigate when we feel like it, able to return when updates appear, marathon everything or gradually take it in over longer periods of time. The current build does feel slightly unfriendly to those totally new to the experience, but I'm not concerned and think that could be rectified. What is here, now, does offer more of what those of us who did play the first game know we liked so we can enjoy slime time.

Slime Rancher 2 is in early access on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC

Decorative items found within the debug menu in The Sims 4

Depending on how many packs you own, the Build and Buy mode in The Sims 4 is a treasure trove of items to decorate your lots and create intricately detailed homes. But if you're not happy with what's on offer by default, there are ways to get more items.

There are thousands of items filling out the Build and Buy catalogue in The Sims 4, but there's always room for more options, especially when it comes to clutter. Thankfully, the debug menu and live edit objects are there to help, but you'll need to know how to access them before you can use them.

How to enable debug objects in The Sims 4

Cheats needed to enable live edit objects in The Sims 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

Both debug items and live edit objects fall under the same umbrella term "debug." These are objects that are technically included in the game, and litter the worlds before you've even built a single thing, but usually don't appear in the Build and Buy catalog. Think cars, streetside decorations, and even entire buildings.

To gain access to these additional items, you'll need to enter the following cheats:

  • "testingcheats true"
  • "bb.showliveeditobjects"

That's technically all you need to do to enable access to the live edit objects within the Build and Buy catalogue, but unlike when you use the "bb.showhiddenobjects" cheat, live edit objects don't show up as you're browsing through items. There's an additional step that reveals them all for use.

How to use the debug search in The Sims 4

How to access live edit objects via the debug search in The Sims 4

When you're in Build and Buy mode, click into the search bar above the categories in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Type "debug," but don't press Enter. Instead, click on one of the "** DEBUG **" options that pop up.

It doesn't matter which of them you click on, you'll still end up with all of the live edit objects popping up. There are live edit objects attached to every pack, including full buildings and other huge objects, so you might have a lot to scroll through. However, there are also some useful clutter items within this selection of new objects, so have fun playing around with all of the new objects to create something truly unique.

The semibots in R.E.P.O.

To the despair of all who made tossing both big threats and small enemies around a habit in R.E.P.O., the game's new Overcharge mechanic is set to bring an explosive shift to its overall experience. To help you make it through the end, here's how Overcharge works in R.E.P.O.

How Overcharge works in R.E.P.O.

Set to debut in a future update, the Overcharge mechanic in R.E.P.O. will cause you to explode after lifting monsters for too long. The explosion is set to delete a huge part of your HP in one go and leave you stunned, all while letting whoever you were carrying walk free. While lifting an enemy, you will know you are about to explode once the Overcharge meter below your energy hits 100. The meter's value will progressively increase while you carry a monster, but steadily make its way back to zero once you let go.

Keep in mind that even if the above is set to make Grab Strength builds less overpowered, which was one of its main goals according to the game's developing team, the stat's importance has not changed. After all, very few things are worse than finding a once-per-run treasure and being unable to lift it. To make up for the inability to toss enemies around, semiwork also revealed it will be boosting the accuracy of all fire weapons in the game and the ease of use of all melee ones, such as the Baseball Bat and Inflatable Hammer.

How to counter Overcharge in R.E.P.O.

The semibots lift an item in R.E.P.O.
Image via semiwork

Although the game will likely receive a few Overcharged-focused upgrades once the mechanic debuts, it was revealed that you can lower the effect's buildup speed by carrying targets together with other players. In other words, the more players carrying the monster, the slower your beam will overcharge.

I also believe raising your HP with some Health Upgrades might prove to be a surefire way to mitigate the explosion's effects, as the more HP you have overall, the more you'll have afterward. Like with the Strength Upgrades, each Health Upgrade will grow in cost per purchase, starting with a welcoming $4,000 and going all the way to $18,000.

As always, gearing up with a weapon continues to be the meta here, so make sure to check out our how to get and use the Shotgun in R.E.P.O. guide. Now that you cannot simply shake them to oblivion, I also highly recommend that you take a look at how to beat every monster in the game.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Cat

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland update is set to arrive sometime in 2025. Over time, Gameloft has released teasers for what's to come, from revealing how the Cheshire Cat is involved in some way to showing off themed furniture items with unknown functions.

Whether you're a fan of Alice in Wonderland or just want to experience a new Disney Dreamlight Valley update, we've got just the information you need about this update.

When is the Alice in Wonderland update coming out in DDV?

Gameloft has confirmed Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland update will launch sometime in Spring 2025. If we go by North America's 2025 Spring dates, it'll most likely be released anytime from now until June 20. The most realistic estimate is that it'll arrive sometime between the last week of April and the first week of May.

Disney Dreamlight Valley 2025 content update
Image via Gameloft

At the time of writing, the latest update from Gameloft revealed a DDV content roadmap highlighting an Early 2025 update—later known as Tales of Agrabah—as Disney Dreamlight Valley's first content patch of the year. Tales of Agrabah launched on Feb. 26, with the next expected to appear around two months later. The Spring 2025 timeline of the Alice in Wonderland update involving the Cheshire Cat aligns with this, with the end of April or beginning of May falling within the two-month gap.

The Alice in Wonderland update's Star Path theme is also unknown. While it'll most likely relate to the movie and story in some way, it may also have a Spring or Easter theme to complement the season. Only time will tell as this part of the update unfolds.

The Alice in Wonderland update will also primarily affect Disney Dreamlight Valley's base game. Although we may discover small secrets in other areas, major Storybook Vale changes are planned to arrive this Summer during the Unwritten Realms storyline addition. This update is completely separate from the Alice in Wonderland one, so we'll likely only see changes in the base game. There is a chance the Cheshire Cat and other Alice in Wonderland characters will get their own realm, but this has yet to be confirmed.

Schedule 1 image of the prologue trailer

The full version of Schedule 1 has plenty of mods available that you can use to expand the vanilla gameplay, and some of them are extremely useful.

The mods expand beyond the base features and allow you to add plenty of QoL features. While some of these features might become part of future updates, mods are the only options available currently. This guide will help you figure out the best mods to use and discuss their advantages.

Console Commands mod

While turning on console commands in the full version is relatively easy, I still prefer using a mod. This mod allows you to use all the console commands by pressing the F8 button. You can also view all the commands that are available for the game. The availability of the commands makes it much more convenient for me, as you can test out different things.

Increased Stack Limit

Inventory size is a major concern in Schedule 1, as you can carry 8 items simultaneously. That space also reduces if you usually have more than 10 of any item. The Increased Stack Limit mod is available for the full-game version and allows you to carry more items if they're the same type. It's an innovative solution in case you can't manage to own a car and have many items to sell.

Better Workers

Bed assignment in Schedule 1
Screenshot via Destructoid

This mod used to be my favorite until the latest patch, as it has resulted in problems. When it works properly, the mod allows your workers to work faster, better, and more efficiently. Once your empire grows, you'll want your workers to work as efficiently as possible. It's best to try out this mod for the time being till a hotfix rolls out. This would still be my go-to mod when managing workers efficiently inside the game.

Enhanced Dealers

Benji in Schedule 1
Screenshot via Destructoid

Once your drug empire is enormous, the limitations related to dealers can stall the growth of your empire. The Enhanced Dealers mod allows your dealers to cater to more customers and sell the products more quickly. The UI also improves; they seem to work for free by letting go of their cut. While I don't like that they don't keep their share of the profits, the remaining improvements are notable in the long run, and they quicken your progress by a noticeable amount.

Movement Boost

If you're unhappy with the base movement speed in Schedule 1, the Movement Boost mod will be the perfect solution. It's a simple mod that enhances your base movement speed. You can also toggle a Speed Boost to increase your movement speed temporarily, and the settings can also be applied on multiplayer servers.

Schedule 1 car dealership

Not all cars are created equal in Schedule 1. If you want speed, your best option is The Cheetah. If your favorite color is blue, buy the Bruiser. There are even cars with goofy names if that's what you like, but I'll avoid spoiling that surprise for now.

What about cars for transporting goods? Sure, your average car has a few spaces in its trunk for hiding items and clearing out inventory slots, but surely there's a "best" option. You'd be right to think that, and we're here to tell you the best car to buy if storing and transporting goods are your top priority.

Best car for storage and transport in Schedule 1

The Veeper is by far the best car for storage and transport in Schedule 1. It only costs $9,000, making it the second cheapest vehicle option available. It also has a whopping 16 trunk slots compared to most cars' four to five spaces. Its top speed is even faster than most other cars aside from the Cheetah, making it easy to escape the police if you're in a tough situation.

Schedule 1 Veeper
Screenshot by Destructoid

It's also a great option if you're playing with friends and need a ton of extra space in your car for selling products to customers. If you have two or three people doing drug runs, the Veeper is a relatively inexpensive option that has more than enough storage space for your items. Even if you actively mix products and have a lot to carry around, 16 spaces will usually get the job done. The only downside is that it gets stuck easily, but Schedule 1 lets you unstick cars without paying any money, so that's not a huge problem.

Alternatively, you can use it to transport mixing ingredients you buy from Gas-Mart. At the time of writing, there are 16 substances you can buy from the convenience store, which just so happens to match the space in the Veeper. You can purchase 10 of each substance (or a few dozen of one) before returning to your base of operations and repeating as necessary. That way, you won't need to spend money or wait for deliveries.

How to access a car's trunk in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 car trunk interface
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you want to open a car's trunk and access its storage, head to its back, hover over its trunk, and press E to access it. In the Veeper's case, you'll do this with the two doors that open to the rest of the vehicle. An interface will appear with empty slots in which you can store drugs, mixing ingredients, or tools, depending on what the situation calls for.

All cars in Schedule 1

Although the Veeper is the best storage and transport vehicle in Schedule 1, the others are nothing to sneeze are. They all have pros and cons, from being cheap to driving faster than the Veeper. Here's a complete list of Schedule 1's cars, their prices, and their trunk storage slots.

Car Price Trunk Space
The Shitbox $5,000 Five slots
The Veeper $9,000 16 slots
The Bruiser $12,000 Five slots
The Dinkler $15,000 Eight slots
The Hounddog $25,000 Five slots
The Cheetah $40,000 Four slots

Although The Cheetah is by far the fastest car in the game, its price and significantly lower trunk space outweigh this benefit. Similarly, more expensive cars like the Bruiser, Dinkler, and Hounddog all have fewer storage slots and drive at similar speeds, making their upgrades unnecessary unless you like their appearance.

Steve in Craftmine Update

If you've logged into the Minecraft Launcher, you've likely triggered LaunchCraft, a wild new feature from the April Fools 2025 Update. It's packed with hilarious changes using the unique Launcher Skills. Find out what each skill does and how to unlock them fast.

What is LaunchCraft in Minecraft?

Before we get into the skills, you should know what LaunchCraft actually does. It's a part of the latest April Fools 2025 CraftMine update, which you can install through Snapshot. Once I began this new update, the LaunchCraft system appeared shortly after. This feature changes the look and feel of the Minecraft Launcher. Sometimes, it'll alter fonts; other times, it'll transform your cursor into a weapon.

Launcher Skills activated in Minecraft Launcher
Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll notice a progress bar at the bottom of the screen, gradually increasing the longer you are in the Launcher. When hitting a particular milestone, you'll unlock a new Launcher Skill. Press the 'Select Skill' to turn on your unlocked abilities. You can even turn on multiple skills to drastically change the Minecraft Launcher.

All Launcher Skills in Minecraft LaunchCraft April Fools 2025

LaunchCraft features various levels for you to unlock, all of which will have a unique skill attached. Although the system presents a Level 9,001 rank, Level 30 seems to be the maximum cap. Here's what to expect with each Launcher Skill in Minecraft April Fools 2025:

Launcher Skills What It Does Required Level
Burning to play Places flames on the 'Play' button Level 0
Soothing Sounds Plays classic "soothing" Minecraft sounds. Don't let it trick you. It's actually a terrifying sound. Level 1
Anaglyptoon Vision Changes the visuals with anaglyptoon shader (I don't see too much of a visual change with this one) Level 1
Deadly Pointer I Changes your cursor into a wooden sword Level 2
Creator Spotlight Puts a spotlight on Creator Tools Level 3
Deadly Pointer II Changes your cursor into a stone sword Level 4
Launcher Companion Places a flower next to your cursor, making a bee follow it Level 5
Deadly Pointer III Changes your cursor into an iron sword Level 6
Cursor Deluxe Cursor has more of a "VR" theme Level 7
Pixel Perfect Refines the Minecraft Launcher (in-game description indicates that "you may not even notice" these changes) Level 8
L337 M1n3Craft level_001 Changes the description of news posts and games (almost if someone hacked the Launcher) Level 8
Carousel Time Machine Quickens the loading times of the Home page's highlighted features Level 9
Deadly Pointer IV Changes the cursor into a gold sword Level 10
Embiggened Button Mode Enlarges the 'Play' button Level 11
Pixel-Perfect II Like the first Pixel-Perfect, it supposedly enhances graphics, but there aren't many noticeable differences Level 12
Soothing Sounds II Plays more "soothing" Minecraft sounds Level 13
Deadly Pointer V Changes the cursor into a diamond sword Level 14
L337 M1n3Craft l3V3L_010 Changes the Launcher's descriptions (similar to the first L337 skill) Level 15
Water Freezemode If you have 'Leaves' mode activated, it will change into snow Level 16
Carousel Time Machine II Quickens the pace of the Home highlighted features (even more than the first version) Level 17
Launcher Companion II Makes the Rocky companion follow your cursor Level 18
Launcher Cursor Damage +1 Every time you click something on the Launcher, an arrow will appear Level 19
Classy Font Minecraft Launcher will now have a classy font Level 20
Pixel-Perfect III "Enhances" graphics Level 21
Soothing Sounds III Sounds off a "soothing" soundtrack Level 22
Launcher Companion III Places an ocelot companion near cursor Level 23
Casual Font Changes the font to Comic Sans Level 24
Deluxe Font Makes the words on the page change colors Level 25
Eyepatch notes Descriptions will have a pirate-like tone Level 26
Do a 180 Places the home screen images upside down Level 27
Deadly Pointer VI Changes the cursor into a Nether sword Level 28
Ultra Water Freezemode V2 Snow will appear on the screen Level 29
Cubic Zirconia Gem Storm Diamonds will replace the leaves Level 30
L337 M1N3Cr4f7 13\/31_100 Changes up the wording in descriptions (like the other L337 skills) Level 30

Those who go to the end of the skills page will see a Level 9,001 Launcher Developer section. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to access this ability. Redditors have tried to implement codes to reach Level 9,001, but no matter what, it doesn't seem to unlock the two rewards at the bottom. I've also tested to see if it opens when all Launcher Skills are active, and it still doesn't trigger it.

Level 9,001 locked rewards in LaunchCraft
Screenshot by Destructoid

We may get more answers later on, but as of right now, there doesn't seem to be a way to get the Old Launcher UI and Launcher Cape rewards. Since it's based around the April Fools update, it may be a joke where you can't acquire it. At the very least, you can get your hands on the new Yearn cape from the A Minecraft Movie Live Event.

How to increase levels fast in Minecraft LaunchCraft

Rather than sitting and waiting for the LaunchCraft bar to load, you can switch between the tabs on the left to increase it substantially. Just hit Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, Dungeons, and Legends repeatedly, and you'll make it to Level 30 in no time.

Edition tabs in Minecraft Launcher
Screenshot by Destructoid

You can also click on the progress bar to increase the bar slightly. However, I suggest using the switch tabs version for a quicker process.

How to turn off LaunchCraft in Minecraft

If you don't want the progress bar to appear in the Minecraft Launcher, go to the Settings tab and check off 'Launcher Leveling System.' The bar will no longer appear at the bottom of your screen, appearing just like it did before the CraftMine update.

Turning off LaunchCraft in settings

Anytime you feel like trying out LaunchCraft, you can simply click on this setting again to turn it back on. You can also browse through the settings to look through more customizable options in the Minecraft Launcher.

April Fools' Day is generally one of the most annoying and un-funny days of the year, but for Overwatch 2 fans, it's one players greatly look forward to.

The classic "Totally Normalwatch" limited-time mode has returned for April 1, turning the game's hero pool on its head with fun ability changes in an optional Arcade mode for players to enjoy if they so choose. And that's what's arguably the best about it. It's optional.

Hammond OW2 Overwatch googly eyes
Screenshot by Destructoid

But there are some fun goodies to earn and unlock via challenges in Totally Normalwatch, like player titles, sprays, and the Rainy Ducky legendary skin for Orisa if you complete all 15 of them. And the challenge only require you to play the mode on different roles, with some big battle pass XP boosts for getting them done.

It will be worth learning the hero's new kits, though, because some of them have been greatly changed for the mode, like Doomfist who no longer has a primary fire and can only quick melee, or Roadhog who throws three hooks at once, and Brigitte whose Shield Bash is replaced with a Captain America-like Shield Throw.

Some of the more extreme changes are like D.Va whose mech is know half the size and has 25 health, but got a 100-percent boost in fire rate, and Reinhardt whose Charge now has infinite distance and a shortened cooldown. It's just plain mayhem.

Honestly, the mode is good fun if you just take it for what it is: a silly limited-time mode. And it's worth trying out at least once to see if you can have more fun with it than the regular modes of the game, which is also entirely possible.

For the full list of all of the silly hero changes, check out the patch notes, but just know that Totally Normalwatch will disappear on April 15, so make sure to hop in while you can.

Overwatch 2's fun April Fools Day event, Totally Normalwatch, is back for another year of hijinx and hilarity. And googly eyes.

As part of the limited-time Arcade mode, OW2's heroes get a fun makeover for their kits, and their eyes, to shake things up for the silly holiday. Some hero abilities are totally changed, others are deleted, and some heroes get totally new ones to play with.

Here's the full list of all of the hero changes in this year's Totally Normalwatch event in OW2.

A player dressed in an orange gown using a Flamethrower in Dress to Impress.

There are lots of secret items you can unlock in Dress to Impress, and while most of them are pretty straightforward, some require a bit more effort. The Flamethrower is by far the trickiest item you can unlock.

If you're hoping to earn this item, you have to act fast since it won't be available for long. You also have to put in quite a bit of effort, and it's a tricky process, so here's how to get the Flamethrower in Dress to Impress.

What is the Flamethrower code in DTI?

Five emojis above a scoreboard for a Flamethrower in Dress to Impress.
Screenshot by Destructoid. Remix by Destructoid

To obtain the Flamethrower in DTI, you need to find a series of emojis corresponding to specific numbers hidden around the map and piece them together to form a unique code. Unlike all other codes in DTI, every player has a unique one here, so you have to solve it for yourself.

Each emoji is tied to a different number for each player. For me, the Heart is a two, and I found it on a table in the Salon, but it might not be the same number or at the same location for you.

The first step for solving your code is to visit a regular server and complete the round. At the end, look right above the scoreboard to learn your specific code series. Mine, for example, is Dress, Star, Heart, Dress, Dress. For me, the Dress was next to the number three, the Star was by the number five, and the Heart was by a two, so my personal Flamethrower code ended up being 35233.

Your code will be completely different depending on where your emojis are and what number each one is tied to. Once you know the correct order for your emojis, you need to get to work finding them.

All emoji locations for Flamethrower in DTI

The locations for the emojis you need to find to unlock the Flamethrower are also random, so there are many potential spawn spots to check. Here are all of the ones we've found so far, but there might be more, so we'll add additional ones as we come across them.

  • On the side of the nail salon where Lina is working for the duration of the April Fools' update.
  • On the shelf above the shoe section in the main lobby.
  • On the circular tables sitting around the intermission lobby.
  • On the table right behind the entrance wall into the salon in the main lobby.
  • On the walls of the dressing rooms in the main lobby.
  • On the pillars around the intermission lobby.
  • On the fence around the path area you spawn on in the intermission lobby.
  • On the stairs and sides of the stairs throughout the main lobby.
  • On the shelf between the nail table and the hairdryers.
  • On the wall behind the plants around the main lobby.
  • On shelves throughout the main lobby.
  • On the wall above the hat section in the main lobby.
  • On the walls outside the windows in the main lobby.
  • On the shelf where all of the bags are in the main lobby.

A heart emoji by the number two in Dress to Impress.

Since there are many different spots where the emojis can appear, the best way to find them is to simply scour every inch of the map as carefully as you can. They can appear in the main lobby and the intermission lobby but not in the VIP room. Because the emojis can appear in the intermission lobby, you need to play on a regular server to make sure you're able to find all of them.

How to use the Flamethrower in DTI

Once you have it unlocked, the Flamethrower appears in a special bar near the bottom of the screen. Click on the word "Flamethrower" to equip it, then click anywhere else on the screen to turn it on and start shooting fire. It only shoots fire as long as you're holding the use button down.

If you're looking for more special items to add to your collection, consider working on unlocking the Style Showdown set, Magical Girl outfit, and Lana Stitch dress next.

Craftmine Update key art

Minecraft's April Fools' updates have become a legendary tradition, cranking up the chaos and creativity each year. From potato-filled biomes to moon cows, the wackiness knows no bounds. In 2025, the Craftmine update takes things to a whole new level, and we're here to show you how to play.

How to access Craftmine Update in Minecraft

Minecraft players have created countless amazing builds over the years, but now, for the first time ever, you can craft mines. Get it? Craft+Mine. Mine+Craft. Alright, you get the idea. Like past April Fools updates, you can access it through the Java Edition Snapshot version. Follow these steps to start the Minecraft Craftmine update:

  1. Open Minecraft Launcher
  2. Open Java Edition
  3. Select the Installations tab
  4. Hit 'Play' on the latest Snapshot (ensure that Snapshots are activated)
  5. Wait for the file to install and play the new Craftmine Update

If you're new to the Minecraft Launcher, you must hit the checkbox for the Snapshot. This version lets you test out upcoming or limited features, almost like a beta test. Since Snapshots can be buggy, you may want to back up your worlds or run a different file just in case things go wrong. Unfortunately, Bedrock Edition users cannot access this feature, as it is primarily reserved for the PC version.

Once everything checks out, it'll open the main menu, presenting the Craftmine update file in the bottom-left corner. Simply start a new world and make any adjustments with difficulty settings or game rules before you begin.

Use the Mine Crafter at the center to build your own level. You'll have a few resources given to you by default, and you'll eventually find more materials the more you play. Place an item from the Mine Effects in the empty box near 'Craft Your Mine.' It'll create a mine with various challenges. So, if I place the Plains Biomes Mine Effect, it'll give me a level with mobs like Creepers, chickens, and cows.

After you've chosen an element, select the box at the center and interact with the circular object near the Mine Crafter to enter your new world.

The goal here is to play your distinct level and find the exit. Exit locations will vary each time, so you'll have to survive long enough to make it out alive. If you find the exit point, you'll return to the Craftmine Update's main hub, increasing your levels for more recipes. You'll unlock more boxes in the Mine Crafter, allowing you to mix and match for more unique worlds.

Open the Player Unlocks hub by pressing the 'U' key, and exchange your earned points to access additional builds. Since this system is fairly new, I'm still trying to understand this feature fully. I'll update this guide once I get more familiar with it.

How to find the exit in Craftmine Update

While the exit locations will always change, you should know what to look for. Exits will appear with a blue beam of light in the sky, leading you to an exit portal that can have Blackstone around it. The night makes it easier to see, so you may want to wait until then.

Given the massive size of Minecraft maps, it can take a while to find the exit. I just walked around aimlessly for a day (in-game time) and just happened to stumble upon mine underwater. If you are lucky enough to find it, interact with the circle at the center, similar to the Mine Crafter's orb, and you'll earn your well-deserved rewards. A view from above of the city in Schedule I

Everyone needs friends, including an "entrepreneur" like yourself. Schedule I is a unique take on the small genre of weird job simulators. Schedule 1 is a fun game, but like all games, it's more fun with friends. Three of them, to be exact.

There's a level of appeal to playing games like this by yourself or with others. Managing employees, products, and customers by yourself is thrilling, but friends can help alleviate the stress. Playing Schedule 1 with friends is a blast, and we're here to tell you how you and your buds can get started right now.

How to play Schedule I with friends

Here's a complete step-by-step to add your friends to a Schedule 1 lobby:

  1. Add them as a friend on Steam.
  2. Boot up Schedule 1 and head to the main menu.
  3. Click the grey "+" box in the top-right corner of your screen.
  4. Create a new game or continue on a previous save once your friend(s) are in the lobby.

You'll see these options regardless of whether you own Schedule 1's paid version or the Free Sample. In short, even if you want to try the game but aren't sure if you want to buy it, you and a few friends can hop in and try its demo before deciding, without worrying about any extra obstacles.

How to add friends on Steam

To add one to three friends to your Schedule I game, you must add them as friends on Steam, first. To do so, open your Friends page in your Steam account by hovering the mouse over your name in the Steam software and selecting Friends. Then, press the green Add a friend button. They'll then receive a notification, allowing them to accept or deny the request.

Inviting friends to play Schedule 1 multiplayer

Once you've added a friend, all of you will need to be online before you can invite them to your game. If you can't see your friends in your list even though all of you are logged in, someone likely set their account status to Offline. To change that, click on the Steam button in the top left corner of the Steam desktop app and find the "Go Offline…" option. If you see it, you're already online. If it says "Go Online…" press the button, and you'll be visible to your Steam friends.

What is Schedule 1 multiplayer's max player count?

There is a limit of four players per game in Schedule I. That means you can only host up to three other players at once. It doesn't seem like the developer, TVGS, plans on adding native support for more than four players in the future, based on the official long-term development roadmap on Trello.

The only exception is using mods to increase the maximum player count. There is a popular multiplayer mod, MultiplayerPlus, that allows up to 20 users in the same game. However, you'll have to wait for it to update whenever Schedule 1 releases a major content update, so be prepared for occasional compatibility errors.

Generally speaking, the game isn't intended for a dozen or more players to run around the same tiny city. You're probably better off sticking to a small group of friends unless you want to cause chaos and risk running into errors, crashing, or other strange shenanigans.
