Sunderfolk takes BG3's co-op DnD experience down a new path, and it's out now

Sure, if we're talking officially licensed videogames set in the Dungeons and Dragons universe, Baldur's Gate 3 is in a class of its own. Even if you remove DnD out of the equation, it's still one of the best co-op games ever made. However, while its enormous scope and seemingly endless possibilities are what make it so cherished, it can also be a barrier to some. Looking to create a co-op experience that's much closer to a chilled out DnD game night, and delivering it in a novel way using each player's smartphone, Sunderfolk is one of this year's most intriguing new projects. Now, the wait to play it is finally over.

pokemon domestic home items

The Pokemon Center in Japan released the new collection of cute and useful home items to spruce up your domicile. These items were originally announced on April 18, 2025. Now they're in store online, ahead of a larger debut. Some of the more notable items include a Bulbasaur planter, a Geodude hanger, and a Trubbish garbage can.

You can now purchase these items via the online Pokemon Center store. If you want to get them from the physical locations, you'll have to wait until April 26, 2025. Items range from house slippers to bookends. So, like past collections such as the Pikachu Everyday Fun Kitchen line, they're good for the older Pokemon fan who still want to communicate their love for the series through their furniture.

Here are the various items in this new collection:

  • Bulbasaur miniature planter: 4,400 JPY (~$31)
  • Cubchoo tissue case: 2,970 JPY (~$21)
  • Gardevoir and Gallade bookends: 3,960 JPY (~$28)
  • Geodude hanger: 2,420 JPY (~$17)
  • Maushold wall clock: 4,950 JPY (~$35)
  • Mimikyu stand mirror: 3,960 JPY (~$28)
  • Psyduck room slippers: 3,960 JPY (~$28)
  • Snorunt fridge deodorizer: 2,750 JPY ($20)
  • Sprigatito aroma stone diffuser: 3,850 JPY ($27)
  • Trubbish garbage can: 3,300 JPY ($23)

And here's a closer look at all of the different items in this collection.

As a note, products that require another item to work will not come with said item. For example, you'll need to provide the batteries for the Maushold clock yourself, as well as find the deodorant for the Snorunt fridge deodorant yourself. To use the aroma stone diffuser, you'll need to use a few droplets of essential oil on the stone flowers on the plate. The Sprigatito is sitting next to it, as if it's guarding the stones. The scent of the essential oil you used will waft up in the air after that.

The Pokemon domestic home items are available on the online Pokemon Center stores in Japan. They'll appear in physical locations around the country from April 26, 2025.

Sachi and Philia Join Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream as DLC

Bandai Namco said we could expect the first Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream Character Pass 2 DLC to show up between April and June 2025, and now Sachi and Philia are about to join with Worlds Beyond 3. Both will debut on April 24, 2025. You can get them in the $29.99 pass alongside the eventual Worlds Beyond 4 addition, or you can buy their bundle on its own.

Both Sachi and Philia first showed up in the original story's arc. As such, their appearances here match that. Sachi is a Supporter this time, though she fights with a spear as usual. She was a member of the Moonlit Black Cats guild in Aincrad that Kirito joined for a time. Note that if you're not familiar with the series, her trailer hints at some spoilers regarding her. Saori Hayami returns to voice her.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rDbpM9FCM4&ab_channel=BandaiNamcoEntertainmentAmerica

Meanwhile, Philia is probably more familiar due to the fact she's been a recurring character throughout the games starting with Hollow Fragment. While she first showed up during the original Sword Art Online, she also appeared in every ensuing game all the way up through Project Alicization. She's a Rogue here, as expected. Yui Ishikawa returned to play her.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra5xah7jkvw&ab_channel=BandaiNamcoEntertainmentAmerica

While Sachi and Philia are two of the main additions in the Worlds Beyond 3 Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream DLC, they aren't the only things here. There's a new scenario to play through that is connected to the two of them. You also get some additional equipment options, like new weapons. Customization options appear too, as there are some costumes, a stamp, and a player card background. However, Bandai Namco didn't share the other specifics yet.

These aren't the only Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream characters to show up in 2025. The latest major patch appeared in January 2025. The first person to show up as part of it was Fuuka. She's a Mage, which is handy for folks who like magic and ranged assaults. She was entirely free, however, so you didn't need an add-on or the second Character Pass.

Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC worldwide, and the Character Pass 2 Worlds Beyond 3 DLC with Sachi and Philia debuts on August 24, 2025.

1.0 Launch of Hololive Holoearth Adds Marketplace

Cover announced the 1.0 launch of Holoearth, the Hololive and Holostars metaverse project that includes social and a sandbox element, and confirmed the Marketplace with user-created items will debut alongside it. That happens on April 24, 2025. Following that, the company will begin work on other additions such as a hololive production official shop, support for the company's Vtubers' models in-game, concerts and special events, and mobile support.

In the case of the Holoearth Marketplace, it will let people use the Creator Tools to apply original art and designs created by people to apply them to in-game avatar t-shirts and hoodies. These items can also become chat stickers. After creating the art and adding them to an item, these will be submitted to Cover. Once approved, someone can go to their My Shop to decorate a storefront and begin selling any valid items they created at an AL-Tech Terminal. All purchases will use the premium HoloCoin currency. Once items sell, the people who made them can then get paid for them.

Here's the official trailer for the Holoearth Marketplace. If you turn on closed captions, English subtitles are available. At the one minute mark, the new official Pastel Spring avatar items made by Cover appear.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-YGwVpo7xY&ab_channel=HOLOEARTH%E3%83%9B%E3%83%AD%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9

There's a Holoearth anime-style trailer to celebrate the 1.0 launch as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9YTz0anIE8&ab_channel=HOLOEARTH%E3%83%9B%E3%83%AD%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9

As for the future, that involves more customization options and things to do in Holoearth. The only one with a set date is the hololive production official shop. That "opens" in-game on May 14, 2025. When it does, Hololive Expo 2024 and general Vtuber t-shirts will appear in it. Another goal will be for the project to support the Hololive and Holostars' Vtuber avatars. So performers can use that in-app, with the custom clothing there, when taking part in meet-and-greet moments, special activities, and concerts. More concerts are also planned, with Cover suggesting they'll be like Protolive and Yamato Phantasia. Finally, some elements of the metaverse will show up on mobile devices.

Holoearth is available for PCs, and the 1.0 version debuts on April 24, 2025.

Talking to the Adoring Fan

The beloved Adoring Fan returns in Oblivion Remastered, still loyal, chatty, and endlessly obsessed. He isn't available from the start and only appears after completing a specific questline tied to your rise in fame. Here's how to unlock the Adoring Fan and make the most of your enthusiastic follower.

How to unlock Adoring Fan in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered

You can encounter the Adoring Fan after you've earned the Grand Champion title in the Arena ranks. To reach this tier, you'll fight to survive through more than 20 fights. Even if you have a lower difficulty set, these showdowns can still be utterly challenging, especially when it's three against one. Do your best to increase your levels and rank title until it's time to speak to Ysabel Andronicus, who will be across from Owyn at the Arena Bloodworks.

Ysabel will tell you about the reigning Grand Champion, known across the Arena as "The Gray Prince." But before you step into the ring, you'll need to confront him face-to-face. Seek out Agronak gro-Malog, who's stationed nearby. Speak with him to issue your challenge, then return to Ysabel to begin the ultimate battle.

Finding the Gray Prince
Screenshot by Destructoid

How to defeat the Gray Prince

Unlike previous matches, the fight against the Gray Prince comes with fewer restrictions. You're free to wear any armor and loot corpses during the battle. While that works in your favor, there's a catch—the Gray Prince wears an enchanted Raiment of Valor, offering robust protection against even your strongest hits. As you start the match, you'll also need to choose a title first with Ysabel. Options like The Iron Maiden, The Divine Avenger, and The Butcher are available. They don't affect gameplay, so pick whatever sounds the most legendary to you.

Fighting the Gray Prince
Screenshot by Destructoid

Now it's time to face the Gray Prince, swift in movement and ruthless in every strike. Your best strategy is to parry his attacks, leaving him vulnerable for a few crucial seconds. Once the fight ends, loot his body to claim Agronak's Raiment. This item is required to unlock the Grand Champion Arena rank. Bring it to Ysabel as proof of your worth.

Ysabel will transform the Gray Prince's armor to better suit you, crafting it into either the Heavy or Light Raiment of Valor. You'll also earn 1,000 gold, more than enough to acquire rare materials and gear. As you leave the Arena, the Adoring Fan will pop up like a daisy, showering you with his undying devotion and admiration.

How to use Adoring Fan in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered

When the Adoring Fan approaches you, select "Follow your esteemed Grand Champion!" to unlock him. He'll follow you from now on, no matter where you go—even into the heat of battle, unwavering in his loyalty.

Talk to the Adoring Fan to command him to either wait or follow your every move. If he becomes too much to handle, you can send him on his way. Those who lose or reject him can always find him waiting outside the Arena, ready to rejoin your side. Although he doesn't have many uses outside of these features, you can always count on him for a compliment.

If the Adoring Fan somehow dies during combat, don't fret—he'll mysteriously rise from the grave and return to you within three days. That means no matter what, you'll always have his constant presence through life and death. For more Oblivion Remastered content, check out our guide on all console commands.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Alice

Alongside the introduction of Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland Realm, we also have Alice herself and the Cheshire Cat here to get involved in village shenanigans. While the Cheshire Cat needs some time to get up to some mischief, Alice is on board to join as long as you meet a few prerequisites.

How to invite Alice to your Disney Dreamlight Valley village

Inviting Alice to your Disney Dreamlight Valley world requires unlocking the Alice in Wonderland Realm and completing its storyline. You need to finish four total quests, which you'll unlock immediately after heading into Dream castle, finding the Alice in Wonderland Realm door, and giving Merlin 15,000 Dreamlight.

Before accessing any of these missions, you'll need to unlock the Alice in Wonderland realm door. Rather than unlocking the door right away, however, this causes a white rabbit to run around the castle and village. Chasing it causes you to investigate and fall into a rabbit hole, leading you to the realm.

Disney Dreamlight Valley rabbit burrow
Screenshot by Destructoid

Unlocking the realm and chasing the rabbit starts the Wonders of Wonderland quest. From here, you'll travel through the realm, meeting Alice and the Cheshire Cat along the way. After some time, you'll encounter the Queen's Maze and Teeny, Tiny Problems that focus on Alice's side of this storyline, while the finale, Leaving Wonderlands, wraps everything up. Upon finishing the realm's final quest, you'll build a house for Alice, allowing you to welcome her into Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete Wonders of Wonderland

The Wonders of Wonderland quest starts right after you unlock the Alice in Wonderland realm. You'll spot a white rabbit running around, with it eventually hopping into the Plaza. Following it leads you to a rabbit burrow with which you can interact, plummeting you directly into the realm.

What follows is a string of events with Alice and the Cheshire Cat, including the former going missing shortly after your first encounter and the latter, in his mischievous fashion, sending you on scavenger hunts to find his smile. You'll find the Cheshire Cat's smiles around the forest, particularly in the areas connected to his starting spot.

Disney Dreamlight Valley first Cheshire Cat smile
Screenshot by Destructoid

After finding the Cheshire Cat's smiles, he'll tell you about an item known as More Time. Making this requires collecting several ingredients, all of which you'll find around the realm inside pink stumps, boulders, and bushes. Their color makes them stick out compared to the darker, desaturated terrain in the rest of the realm.

Creating More Time and consuming it will let you activate small creatures known as Mome Raths that'll lead you directly to a special portal. Following their directions, you'll eventually make your way to a back corner of the map and a portal that brings you to the Queen's Maze, marking the end of the Wonders of Wonderland quest and the beginning of the Queen's Maze mission.

How to complete The Queen's Maze

Now that you're in the Queen's Maze, it's time to test your pathfinding skills as you continue your search for Alice. You'll quickly learn that various levers around the maze are guarded by playing card guards. Entering their field of vision will teleport you a short distance away, but they have patterns that make them easy to avoid.

Disney Dreamlight Valley first lever in the Queen's Maze
Screenshot by Destructoid

There are four total levers you need to find:

  • Lever one: Visible through the metal fence when entering the Queen's Maze. Following the hedges will naturally bring you along this path, with very few branching parts.
  • Lever two: You'll spot this second lever behind a hedge after entering the first gate. Walk through the hedge to access it.
  • Lever three: In the final area, run forward to cut through a hedge, which will lead you directly to the third lever.
  • Lever four: From the third lever's spot, head left and run through another hedge before turning toward a nearby guard. You'll find this final lever behind the playing card guard.

Unlocking the final gate will lead you to a line of guards, including several you need to avoid. Getting past them brings you to Alice, who you'll quickly discover is experiencing a peculiar problem. A quick conversation with her concludes the Queen's Maze quest and begins Teeny, Tiny Problems.

How to complete Teeny, Tiny Problems

Now that you've found Alice, you'll discover her current predicament: she's tiny. Since she's unable to fix it, you decide to ask the Cheshire Cat, who tells you to make a Contrary Perfume. Making this requires taking the following steps:

  • Fish for a jar of hearts in the entrance to the Alice in Wonderland Realm.
  • Talk to the matriarch of the Singing Flowers in the middle of the Wonderland forest.
  • Find a mushroom who's feeling blue.
  • Find the curious Pencil Bird.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Most of these are accessible at or near the realm's entrance, so you won't have to worry about venturing far. Once you have the Contrary Perfume, you can return Alice to her full size before setting it up on a table and shrinking yourself.

After investigating the table and collecting some of the queen's games to use as props, you'll arrange everything to make locating cage keys easier. There are four cage keys in the following locations:

  • Key One: Inside a pink teacup near spawn. Break the brown ceramic to access it through fishing.
  • Key Two: Atop a pile of dice near spawn.
  • Key Three: Inside a sugar cube pile near the second key's location.
  • Key Four: Inside a pink cupcake. Use your royal shovel to access it.

Disney Dreamlight Valley fourth cage key
Screenshot by Destructoid

Returning all four keys to Alice lets her open the cages, allowing the animals to escape. Unfortunately, this means the garden is now a mess. This exchange wraps up the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest, leading directly into your final mission, Leaving Wonderlands.

How to complete Leaving Wonderlands

It's time to wrap things up in the Alice in Wonderland realm. Your first task before leaving is to transform the nearby rose trees into red roses, clean up the dirt around the garden, and pick up broken plate pieces. All of this helps restore the garden, making Alice relieved.

Disney Dreamlight Valley mushrooms found during the Leaving Wonderland quest
Screenshot by Destructoid

While your initial plan was to return to Dreamlight Valley, you and Alice will quickly realize that you don't know how to escape from the rabbit hole you fell into. While asking the Cheshire Cat for help, he'll tell you to activate some glowing mushrooms in a roundabout way. The main hint he gives is that there's one mushroom for him and Alice, revealing that Pink and Blue are the correct answers.

Now that you've activated both mushrooms, you and Alice will discover a small realm door. Using the Contrary Perfume from earlier, you can both resize it, letting you exit the realm and return to Dreamlight Valley. This exchange leads to you building a house for Alice, officially unlocking her as a Disney Dreamlight Valley character for the rest of your playthrough.

Bottle of Shadowbanish Wine in Oblivion Remastered.

If you've encountered Shadowbanish Wine while exploring, you might be tempted to take a swig, but there's a more valuable use for the bottles. Shadowbanish Wine is tied to a quest that offers a lucrative reward. But first, players need to find the quest giver and a stockpile of the wine.

Oblivion Remastered packs the fourth The Elder Scrolls game into a modern experience, allowing players to return to or experience Cyrodil for the first time. Among the countless quests and pursuits, it might be easy for some smaller tasks to fall by the wayside. Even more so if you don't know you're dealing with items that belong to a quest. This is the case with Shadowbanish Wine, an item you can find long before you have any quest telling you to fetch some.

However, it's well worth the trouble to seek out this valuable vintage and the quest it's tied to. After all, it's practically along the same path players will travel while tackling the main story quest.

A Venerable Vintage

Nerussa in Oblivion Remastered.
Screenshot by Destructoid

While the quest for the Shadowbanish Wine will start as soon as players have found some, it won't tell players anything more than to keep an eye out for someone interested in the bottles. Alternatively, if you haven't encountered the item, you can go directly to the quest giver to kick things off.

The individual interested in Shadowbanish Wine is in the small settlement of Weye, just across the bridge from the Imperial City's Chestnut Handy Stables. The Wawnet Inn's keeper, Nerussa, will offer you some wine when you first greet her, and asking for more information on the topic opens up the request.

Nerussa wants to add Shadowbanish Wine to her collection, hoping to get six bottles of the good stuff. Of course, she'll compensate players for their work and even offer some incentive for additional bottles collected beyond the six. Nerussa tells players how the wine can be found in various fort ruins across the continent but doesn't get more specific.

Fort-ified wine

Marked locations of Shadowbanish Wine in Oblivion Remastered.

Eight forts have been confirmed to hold Shadowbanish Wine. That said, the bottles are not one-time loot. If you wanted to, you could just farm one location repeatedly for as much Shadowbanish Wine as you want. Of course, the criteria for resetting an instance (including loot) is to load out of the area and then return no sooner than 72 hours of in-game time later.

While it's easy enough to cozy up to a single fort and its Shadowbanish Wine, several options are single-room locales that can be cleared quickly. Bottles will always appear in sets of two and only in unlocked chests within the fort.

Fort Carmala

This fort is between Chorral and Skingrad, just above the settlement of Hackdirt. Vampires protect the crumbling ruins, with the Shadowbanish Wine chest in the final chamber.

Fort Dirich

Fort Dirich is also between Chorral and Skingrad, though it's closer to the Skingrad side. It's just north of the Shrine of Sanguine. Undead inhabit this fort, with some pesky ghosts likely to appear, which can only be hurt by magic or silver weapons.

Fort Vlastarus

More vampires reside in Fort Vlastarus, but it's another quick, one-chamber locale. It's located directly east of Skingrad, under the "G" in The Gold Road on the map.

Fort Magia

Fort Magia is to the east of the Imperial City (directly east of the Imperial City Arboretum). This larger fort has three main sections, and the chest containing the Shadowbanish Wine will be in the deepest part. Undead and ghosts have overrun the fort.

Oblivion Remastered Fort.

Fort Scinia

To the east of Cheydinhal, next to the "V" in The Valus Mountains, rests Fort Scinia. It's medium-sized and filled with a mix of bandits and undead foes.

Fort Aurus

This fort is northeast of Bravil, directly east of the "N" in Niben Bay on the map. Fort Aurus is packed with spellcasters and summoners, but it's a quick crawl otherwise.

Fort Irony

Players can find Fort Irony straight down from Fort Aurus and Fort Grief, southeast of Bravil. It's the only Shadowbanish fort filled with goblins, but it's a small and fast delve.

Fort Grief

Fort Grief is the only fort listed that isn't immediately available for players to explore. The fort is located directly south of Fort Aurus, on a small island in the Niben Bay. It's locked until players start the "Caught in the Hunt" quest. Once opened, it'll be available for return trips.

A reward worth drinking to

Wawnet Inn exterior in Oblivion Remastered.
Screenshot by Destructoid

Nerussa will offer a whopping 1,000 gold for your troubles in exchange for six bottles of Shadowbanish Wine. Beyond that, players can still rake in a respectable 100 gold per additional bottle brought to the innkeeper.

Considering the wine reappears within the forts every three days, a short jaunt across Cyrodil to each Shadowbanish Wine-spawning location can prove quite lucrative if made into a regular activity.

The Hero wearing the Fin Gleam Helm.

Even if not the best pick for life or death battles later on, very few helmets in The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered can match the utility of the Fin Gleam Helm, which comes with the godsent Water Breathing and Nighteye combo.

But what if I told you it is possible to get the item immediately after starting your adventure and leaving the sewers? Here's where you can find and how to easily get the Fin Gleam Helm in Oblivion Remastered.

The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered Fin Gleam Helm location

Like in the original Oblivion, you can get the Fin Gleam Helm in Oblivion Remastered by going to a small island located west of Anvil and into the Abecean Sea. Once there, the item can be found on the spot marked below, by a corpse at the bottom of the ocean.

  • The in-map location of the Fin Gleam Helm.
  • A zoon-in look at the location of the Fin Gleam Helm.

To make sure you can spot and reach the helmet quickly, make sure to both change your camera to first-person mode (by pressing R3 or MB3 a few times) and to dive into the sea for an extra boost. Upon getting the helm, immediately open your inventory and equip it to avoid losing it by drowning. For those wondering, you can boost your swimming speed in Oblivion Remastered by enhancing your Speed stat.

If you're having trouble spotting the helmet deep within the sea, using a Potion of Nighteye or the Nighteye spell can make things way easier. Khajiit characters will have the spell from the get-go and can use it a no Magika cost. You can also get a variant of it by becoming a vampire.

How to make a Potion of Nighteye in Oblivion Remastered

With a Mortar and Pestle, you can make a Potion of Nighteye in Oblivion Remastered by combining any of the following items after unlocking the ability to mix their extra properties (or effects). Upon being consumed, the potion will provide you with the effect for 15 seconds.

  • Blister Pod Cap (Third property)
  • Bonemeal (Fourth property)
  • Carrot (Second property)
  • Daedra Silk (Second property)
  • Daedroth Teeth (First property)
  • Lady's Mantle Leaves (Third property)
  • Viper's Bugloss Leaves (Second property)
  • Worm's Head Cap (Second property)

Among the list, the Viper's Bugloss Leaves and the Worm's Head Cap are by far the easiest specialties to spot via their bright violet/purple colors. They are also the most common in the list. Keep in mind that you need to reach Alchemy level 25 to unlock the second property of the ingredients above. Reaching levels 50 and 75 will then unlock the remaining two.

Fighting the dragon in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Jagex has announced that it has scheduled a RuneScape Dragonwilds patch update 0.7.1.5 for April 2025, and it includes a bunch of changes for Ashenfall.

RuneScape Dragonwilds patch 0.7.1.5 changes

With patch 0.7.1.5, the devs have tweaked multiple events, including Being Hunted, Warbands Raiding, and Velgar Attacks.

Ghornfell Raids or the Goblin Raid Parties will now have an increased cooldown from two in-game days to four days. The grace period of Ghornfell Base Raids has been increased from nine in-game days to 12 days before the raid can happen. Along with that, the chance for the Raid to occur has decreased from 10 percent to five percent every event tick. The cooldown has been increased from two days to 3.75 days now.

https://twitter.com/RSDragonwilds/status/1915058898156847176

The chance for Gornfell Hunted Events to occur has been decreased from 10 percent to five percent, every event tick, whereas the cooldown has been increased from one day to 2.25 days.

Coming to Velgar Events, the Velgar Meteor Barrages have been reduced from five to two per meteor event. This has been made to address the drift towards tedium. On top of that, the "Poison Breath" event has now been changed to only poison breath strafing runs.

Starting the 0.7.1.5 update, hostile AI will no longer be immune to Bleed. The new update will also fix several issues that have been crashing the game for many players. Along with that, some Holes in the map have been fixed as well.

Jagex has adjusted the XP you earn after purifying water. The update also includes certain localization issues, a range of UI bugs have been fixed, including some errors and inconsistencies with item names, and fixes around crashes and general stability.

At the time of writing, RuneScape Dragonwilds is still in early access, which means the devs will keep on bringing fresh updates to stir up Ashenfall mechanics.

Jagex also reveals some of its future plans

Upon asking by a fan on the game's official X post if there are any chances of future performance updates for the lower-end PC's, the devs said: "Absolutely! Ongoing performance updates are a foundation of our roadmap for early access!"

Speaking of the roadmap, Dedicated servers are also planned down the line. Dedicated servers mean permanent servers, just like other co-op games such as Minecraft or Valheim, where the host doesn't have to be online all the time for their teammates to play on the same server.

Casting Restoration spell in Oblivion Remastered.

Oblivion Remastered offers no shortage of skills for you to pursue, but which are the best to train? While some require arduous work and time commitment, you might level others up without realizing it. That said, a skill is only as good as it is helpful to you, right?

Like most Bethesda RPGs, The Elder Scrolls IV practically drowns players in skill options. There are multiple types of weapons and magic schools to specialize in, and that's before getting into the more esoteric options like Acrobatics or Mercantile. It may be hard to decipher which skills are helpful to you at a glance.

Thankfully, there's some method to the madness, and some skills stand as better choices than others, depending on your chosen playstyle. Of course, making sense of these skills and their usefulness is half the battle. The other half is using them effectively.

Major and Minor skills

Destructoid and Heavy Armor skills in Oblivion Remastered.

When you create a character in Oblivion Remastered, you choose seven Major skills, and the unchosen become Minor skills. In addition to starting 20 points higher and training faster, Major skills also contribute to progress toward character level-ups. That is to say, the only way to truly level up in Oblivion Remastered is by progressing the Major skills chosen by your character.

There's no functional difference between a Major or Minor skill, other than the level it starts at. In that sense, even if a desired skill is a Minor skill, it's still worth pursuing. It may take more time to level it.

Best skills to level for melee characters

Orc in iron armor in Oblivion Remastered.

  • Blade
  • Blunt
  • Block
  • Armorer
  • Heavy Armor

Optional or build-specific picks:

  • Light Armor
  • Hand-to-Hand
  • Alteration
  • Restoration
  • Athletics

It makes sense for a melee-focused character to specialize in all forms of melee weapons. Blunt will offer a temporary shield with training, and regular attacks can silence. Training with Blade applies a weapon weakness with power attacks, and further training adds a bleed effect chance with regular attacks. Naturally, Blocking improves Fatigue and durability loss for shields and weapons used to block, and Expert training opens up a shield bash.

The choice of armor is up to players, but most melee characters will want heavy armor protection. Either boosts the durability of the armor and decreases weight as the skill increases. Going hand-in-hand with the equipment skills is the ever-important Armorer skill, which increases the effectiveness of Repair Hammers and allows the repair of magic items.

Optionally, you could specialize in Hand-to-Hand. It disarms combatants with power attacks, deals Fatigue damage, and can even hurt creatures normally immune to physical attacks (like ghosts). Restoration and Athletics might also make sense for healing and sprinting capabilities. There's also the case for Alteration, as the magic can reduce encumbrance and shield players.

Best skills to level for spellcasters

  • Destruction
  • Restoration
  • Conjuration
  • Mysticism
  • Alchemy

Optional or build-specific picks:

  • Light Armor
  • Alteration
  • Illusion
  • Blunt
  • Sneak

If you want to pursue the life of a mage in Oblivion Remastered, there are plenty of options. Several spellcasting schools have their place in Cyrodil, but some make a bit more sense for day-to-day use. Destruction and Restoration are no-brainers, as skill progression will eventually allow players to cast all spells in those schools. The same is true for other types of magic, but healy and hurty spells seem like a priority.

Beyond the basics, Conjuration will allow players to start summoning increasingly powerful entities to fight alongside, and Mysticism is kind of a utility grab bag. Still, it will enable players to trap enemy souls and make the most out of the Soul Gems they come across to recharge magic items.

It might make sense to have a backup plan when an exclusively-magic approach isn't called for. In that sense, Blunt works great for mages, as the weapons can grant shielding and silence enemies. Players can couple that with Alteration magic to shield themselves when they need to be in the fray or for the odd occasion when water breathing is necessary. Illusion magic and Sneak can also have their place, the latter allowing charms, commands, paralysis, and several other effects. Sneak, of course, can help spellcasters get into just the right position before they unleash hell.

Best skills to level for rogues

Dark Elf in fur armor and a bow in Oblivion Remastered.
Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Light armor
  • Sneak
  • Acrobatics
  • Marksman
  • Blade or Hand-to-Hand

Optional or build-specific picks:

  • Speechcraft
  • Mysticism
  • Athletics
  • Alchemy
  • Mercantile

Those looking for a less direct approach to the game may opt for skills like Marksman or Sneak. Marksman improves your ability with bows, adding a focus feature and the chance to paralyze targets. Sneak makes it tougher for enemies to detect you as the skill increases and increases the damage from attacks while you're undetected. Acrobatics improves your jumping, including adding the option to jump off the water's surface. Even better, it adds a dodge option at Apprentice training and can be easily leveled by simply jumping as you make your way across the realm.

As you'll likely be sneaking about and want to make as little noise as possible, putting some effort into increasing the Light Armor skill makes sense. Later ranks reduce armor weight and eventually add an armor protection buff. Taking a melee option is important to round things out. Any will work, but Blades and Hand-to-Hand make the most sense. Blades can weaken and bleed foes, and, using daggers, add synergy with Sneak to add extra damage from sneak attacks. Hand-to-Hand is just generally impressive, dealing fatigue damage and having the possibility of disarming attackers.

Optionally, Speechcraft and Mercantile will allow players to flex their charisma to get better prices from merchants and see better effects from the persuasion wheel. Athletics compliments the idea of staying away from danger, improving sprint functionality. Alchemy can be a lot of fun, as it allows players to craft deadlier poisons, better recognize ingredient effects, and handle more simultaneous potion effects. Mysticism can also prove itself useful. The spells enable players to reflect damage, sense life, and bind souls, to name a few options.

The Arena Poster in Oblivion Remastered

Prove your strength in the blood-soaked sands of the Imperial Arena. With each victory, you advance through the brutal hierarchy, earning recognition, rewards, and the fear of your enemies. Here is a breakdown of every Arena rank in Oblivion Remastered.

How to start Arena battles in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered

Before we get into the ranks, it's a good idea to know where to start. You can begin your Arena journey at the Imperial City Arena, where Hundolin waits outside the entrance. Head left to enter the Arena Bloodworks and speak with Owyn to register as a combatant. You are required to equip a Battle Raiment, either light or heavy, when beginning the match. It's up to you to choose which one you want based on your distinct playstyle.

Imperial City Arena map marker
Screenshot by Destructoid

Speak to Owyn again to begin your first match. The Arena will only be available from 9 am to 9 pm, so check your map to ensure you're in a suitable time slot. Once ready, step through the Arena doors and wait for the gates to open to embark on the fight. Besides the Battle Raiment requirement, it's crucial not to loot any bodies, as this action is strictly forbidden.

If you survived the showdown, visit Owyn to claim your rewards. You can also heal and clean yourself at the Basin of Renewal, next to the doors to the Arena.

How to unlock all Arena ranks in Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered

You'll begin at the bottom as a Pit Dog and fight your way toward the top tier of the Arena. Your rank increases every three victories, similar to the original Oblivion. As you rise, the battles become more intense and enemies more unpredictable. You'll face a mix of combat styles, from archers at a distance to relentless melee fighters with swords and axes. Here is a breakdown of every Arena rank in Oblivion Remastered:

  • Pit Dog
  • Brawler
  • Bloodletter
  • Myrmidon
  • Warrior
  • Gladiator
  • Hero
  • Champion
  • Grand Champion

While most Arena ranks help you earn gold and level up, the Grand Champion title stands above the rest. It's the only rank that rewards you with more than just coins, granting you the Adoring Fan to fuel your ego and the Raiment of Valor armor, significantly boosting your defense. However, to earn this title and its rewards, you must defeat the Gray Prince, a robust Half-Orc. He's known to be "unbeatable," holding the title of Grand Champion for almost a decade. Hopefully, by the time you face him, you'll have sharpened your skills enough to stand your ground and give him a run for his money.

Speaking to Owyn about Arena ranks

Even after you reach the top, your brutal journey isn't over. Speak to Ysabel Andronicus, the Grand Champion's trainer and manager, to continue your path of dominance. For more unique adventures in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, check out our guide on how to join the Dark Brotherhood.

Janus Hassildor in Oblivion Remastered

Vampirism is a serious disease in Oblivion Remastered, but there are different ways to address it.

There are many ways to contract the disease, and knowing them will help you to avoid the problem in the first place. However, there are two easy ways to solve the problem once you do get afflicted, along with an additional method of using console commands. Let's sink our teeth into the subject, shall we?

How do you contract Vampirism in Oblivion Remastered?

Vampirism, officially known in the game as Porphyric Hemophilia, can be contracted while fighting vampires in the following ways:

  • Physical scratches while fighting vampires
  • Eating a Beating Heart in the Unearthing Mehrunes Razor quest
  • Through the Dark Brotherhood questline.

Becoming a vampire has its benefits, but the downsides outweigh them—you won't be able to step into sunlight for starters. Hence, it's best to cure yourself of the disease in case you contract it.

How to cure Vampirism in Oblivion Remastered

It's easier to cure Vampirism before it fully takes over.

  • Eat any food item that has Cure Disease effect
  • Drink any potion that has a Cure Disease effect
  • Cast any spell that has a Cure Disease effect
  • Go to a Chapel or Wayshrine to receive a Blessing.

If you have completely become a vampire, it's a lot harder to cure the disease. There are only two options currently available in Oblivion Remastered.

Oblivion Remastered character screenshot
Image via Bethesda

Complete the Vampire Cure quest

The Vampire Cure is a lengthy quest, but it's one of two available ways to cure complete Vampirism.

  • Talk with Vicente Valiteri or other healers to cure your Vampirism.
  • Go to Arcane University in the Imperial City and talk with Raminus Polus.
  • Speak with Hal-Liurz to set up an appointment with the Count.
  • Go to Drakelove and find Melisande.
  • Melisande will require five Grand Soul Gems.
  • Find all the items and hand them over to Melisande.
  • Leave and return to the same location to get the curing potion from Melisande. This potion will cure you from complete Vampirism.

Use the Font of Renewal

It's easier to use the Font of Renewal compared to completing Vampire Cure. However, you'll need access to the Vile Lair DLC. Additionally, you won't be able to complete Vampire Cure if you opt for this step.

  • Follow the Deepscorn Hollow quest, and go to the Deepscorn Hollow house near Leyawiin.
  • Go to the Font of Renewal.
  • You'll find Purgeblood Crystal Formations. Take some Purgeblood Salts.
  • Enter the water. You'll find an object in the middle. Interact with it to cure your Vampirism.

If you go for one of these two permanent cures, you'll never be able to change into a vampire. Keep that in mind when making your decision.

Disney Dreamlight Valley mushrooms found during the Leaving Wonderland quest

Disaster struck Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland realm. Alice saved some critters from being held captive by the Queen of Hearts, but this has now resulted in a messy garden. Scared to feel the queen's wrath, Alice asks you to help her tidy up the garden.

While things start off easy during the Leaving Wonderland quest, it'll quickly become challenging when you face a certain puzzle. Fortunately, as the name suggests, this mission leads to some fun outside the realm for you and Alice.

Paint the roses red in the Queen of Hearts' garden

After Alice briefly panics over the mess in the Queen of Hearts' garden, you'll both compose yourself and think of a way to clean the area up. She'll give you a pot of red paint, which you can use to upgrade your Royal Watering Can and turn it into a makeshift painting device.

With your upgraded watering can on hand, run around the garden and water any trees that have white roses along their surface. There are five total, which you'll primarily spot in the same areas you found the Queen's games during the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest. Water all five trees to move on to your next cleaning task.

Remove burrow holes and clean up broken plates

Our cleaning isn't over yet. As you ran around watering rose trees, you may have noticed strange holes in the ground and some colorful broken plates. Your next task is to clean these up using your Royal Shovel and hands. You'll spot the burrow holes in the garden's center and the broken plates near the tea table.

With that said and done, Alice will be thrilled that you helped her, telling you the garden looks better than ever before. The two of you decide to celebrate by visiting Dreamlight Valley. But you'll soon realize you don't know how to return to the village, prompting you both to talk to the Cheshire Cat about the situation.

Light the correct combination of glowing mushrooms

After returning to the forest, you and Alice will chat with the Cheshire Cat. Unsurprisingly, he'll speak in riddles as usual, mentioning how he could see any potential nearby doors or rabbit holes if he could "see better with the proper fungi light to illuminate [his] thoughts." What's surprising about this exchange, though, is Alice knows exactly what he's talking about, revealing a crucial hint that the two of them will "each enjoy a color."

Screenshot by Destructoid

Following Alice back to the realm entrance, you'll notice four colored mushrooms near the crafting bench and campfire. Although there are four options, you'll only want to activate the pink and blue mushrooms to represent Alice and the Cheshire Cat. Alice has a blue dress, and the Cheshire Cat is pink.

Returning to Dreamlight Valley

Now that you've solved the glowing mushroom puzzle, you'll find the same door you saw in Dream Castle when you first began the Alice Realm's questline. Although the door is tiny, you now have a solution for it: the Contrary Potion from the previous mission. Water the exit using your watering can to enlarge it, letting you and Alice return to Dreamlight Valley.

Now that you're both in Dreamlight Valley, you can place down Alice's house to invite her to the village as a friend. As usual, you'll need to pay Scrooge a construction fee of 5,000 Star Coins, making this one slightly cheaper than usual. Doing this causes Alice to spawn at the Plaza Wishing Well, allowing you to take pictures and progress through the Leaving Wonderland quest.

The journey isn't over yet, though. We still have a pink cat to find. Tell Alice your plan before returning to the Alice in Wonderland Realm and searching for the Cheshire Cat.

Following the Cheshire Cat's paw prints

Upon stepping back into the Alice in Wonderland Realm, you'll find the Cheshire Cat at his usual red tree. He's not opposed to joining, but he'll disappear once your character closes their eyes. Rather than having a cat in your village, you'll have glowing pink paw prints on the floor leading to Dreamlight Valley.

As you follow the paw prints through the forest, you'll arrive at the realm door, prompting you to venture back out into the village. The prints will trail down Dream Castle's right staircase, eventually vanishing completely. Confused, your character will return to Alice, wrapping up Disney Dreamlight Valley's Leaving Wonderland quest.

Characters in Expedition 33

Fans of RPG games are feasting this week with the surprise launch of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and new IP Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. But if you need to choose one to play immediately, there's a clear winner.

Let me begin by saying that I think you can and should play both of these RPGs if and when you can. But if your options are limited, whether it be for time or money, then Expedition 33 is the one that deserves and needs your attention most.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Oblivion Remastered is a wonderful feat by Virtuos Games and Bethesda, reinvigorating and reviving an all-time classic for a new audience, as a surprise shadow-drop priced at $50, no less. I enjoy a good Bethesda game as much as anyone, with Fallout 3 being my favorite example of what the studio can accomplish.

Bethesda is a tried-and-true, successful company, and The Elder Scrolls is the most popular RPG series of all time, so it's a huge draw and a story in gaming right now. But I cannot and will not deny the magical feeling that Expedition 33 has brought when it comes to producing something entirely new-feeling and exciting for RPGs, especially considering it's the first project from a talented new studio and is a critical success.

And that's why I think if you only have time or money for one game here and now in April 2025, then Expedition 33 needs to be the one you choose.

I think that gamers need to vote with their wallets and play time for a game like Expedition 33 because it is ambitious, it's a new IP, and it's made by a small developer team of about 30 people at Sandfall Interactive, whose passion for turn-based RPGs truly shines through in its spectacular debut. It's an accomplishment that must be celebrated, and a game that must be played by anyone who considers themselves an RPG fan.

Expedition 33 boss fight
Screenshot by Destructoid

The only real comparison between the games is their genre, so the choice may already be made for many. Oblivion is an open-world game largely played in first-person, as is Bethesda's forte, and Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG adventure similar to games like Final Fantasy or other Square Enix classics.

But Expedition 33 flips the turn-based formula on its head with dodging, parrying, and QTE-based attacks, making combat more reactive and thrilling than you'd normally find in a similar title. Its storyline is interesting and bleak and whimsical all at the same time, featuring jaw-dropping boss fights and cinematic cutscenes that left me with a feeling of true wonder that games rarely bring out of me anymore.

Both games deserve your time and attention, but inevitably, a choice must be made. If you have Game Pass, which offers both games as part of the subscription service, you still need to decide which one to play first.

By all means, go wild in both games if you have the means to do so, but supporting an ambitious developer building a new franchise and advancing the medium forward feels more important than a remade classic that's already had its time to shine.

A combat scene in Oblivion Remastered

In the immediate future, I highly recommend everyone play Expedition 33 and support new ambition over retreading (deserved and notable) nostalgia. But even if you choose Oblivion today, Expedition 33 needs to be next on your list.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Alice during the Teeny Tiny Problems quest

Everything in Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice Realm was starting to look good. We made a mysterious cooked dish that unlocked access to a maze garden, allowing us to search for Alice and befriend her. What's the catch? She's as small as a doll, and it's up to us to help her.

Discovering this predicament begins the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest, where you'll have to work with the Cheshire Cat again to figure out how to revert Alice to her usual self. It's a multi-step process, but at least he has a solution.

Crafting Contrary Perfume

After learning about Alice's situation, our character quickly realizes they must ask the Cheshire Cat for help. Although he often speaks in riddles, he reveals the existence of Contrary Perfume, a substance that'll convert Alice back to her usual self.

What's the caveat, then? We have to go through a detailed step-by-step process to find each component of this perfume. Let's go find each item.

Finding a Jar of Hearts

Disney Dreamlight Valley jar of hearts
Screenshot by Destructoid

First on the list is a jar of hearts, which you can locate by fishing at the Alice in Wonderland Realm's entrance. You can either access this by leaving and rejoining Disney Dreamlight Valley before fast-traveling to the beginning or quickly running over from the Cheshire Cat's tree. Either way, you'll spot the jar inside a pond next to the entrance portal.

Talk to the matriarch of the Singing Flowers

Disney Dreamlight Valley Matriarch of the singing flowers
Screenshot by Destructoid

Our next stop is the group of singing flowers in the middle of the Alice in Wonderland Realm's forest. If you're still at the realm's entrance, you can quickly find this spot by running straight forward past the pond.

As you speak with the matriarch, she'll initially refuse to help you because she and her children are wilted. By watering these flowers, they'll give you Bags of Discontented Seeds, which you can use as an ingredient for the Contrary Potion.

Find a mushroom who's feeling blue

Disney Dreamlight Valley blue mushroom
Screenshot by Destructoid

Our next objective is to find a mushroom that's feeling blue. While you may expect a crying mushroom, we're instead taking this at face value and finding a blue fungus in the forest. Fortunately, you won't have to go far; this mushroom is right by the realm's entrance. Head back to the entrance to find this large 'shroom near some boulders.

Finding the mushroom is only half the task, though. To get what we need, you'll need to put on some blue clothes. One clothing piece is fine, but you can go all out if you'd like. I just went with a pair of blue jeans.

Putting on some blue clothes will cause this blue fungus to drop some smaller mushrooms for you to pick up. That's three ingredients down and one more to go.

Finding the curious Pencil Bird

Disney Dreamlight Valley Pencil Bird
Screenshot by Destructoid

Have you ever noticed there's a bird with a pencil head near the Alice Realm's entrance? As you run from the entrance toward the first main intersection, you'll spot this bird atop a pile of books to your right. Talking to it will initiate a quiz for you to solve.

Here are all of the Pencil Bird's questions and answers:

Question Answer
How many light pink stripes does the Cheshire Cat have on its tail? Six
What animal did you chase to get here? A white rabbit
What did the Mad Hatter and March Hare celebrate at Alice's first tea party in Wonderland? An unbirthday
How many playing-card guards did you meet in the Queen's garden maze? 20
How many questions have I asked so far, including this one? Five

Solving every question correctly will reward you with a Wonderland Plaque to use in the potion. With everything on hand, return to the realm's entrance and craft the Contrary Potion before returning to Alice.

Using the Contrary Perfume near the tea table

Screenshot by Destructoid

Now that you have the Contrary Potion, it's time to return to Alice in the Queen's Maze garden. As she uses the potion, she'll return to her normal size. She then reveals she had a separate plan for being here: saving some caged critters that the Queen of Hearts captured.

Inspired to help, your character will decide to use the Contrary Potion themselves, prompting you to use the bottle on the table. Doing this lets you teleport onto the table, shrinking yourself down until you're smaller than an average teacup.

Since you're too small to interact with the perfume, you'll need to climb onto high ground using some plates before taking a picture of the table's setup and squeezing the perfume bottle's bulb. Doing this advances the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest, bringing you to one of the most challenging sections. First, though, let's talk about board games.

Searching for the Queen of Hearts' games

As you talk to Alice about the pictures you took on the table, you'll both realize that navigating in your small form is difficult. Rather than trying to do everything with your regular size, you'll both decide to find some of the Queen of Hearts' games to arrange on the table, making it easier to traverse.

Below is every game in the garden and their locations:

  • Playing Cards: Near the tea table.
  • Lovely Dice: In the section to the left of the tea table, near two rose trees.
  • Lost Marbles: In a small alcove near the heart-shaped gate.

With all four games on hand, return them to the tea table alongside the tea spoon Alice gave you before shrinking yourself down again. It's time for one of the trickiest parts of this quest: Cage Keys.

Finding four Cage Keys hidden on the table

The Alice in Wonderland Realm features four cage keys to find during the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest. Below is a complete list of each key's location:

  • Key One: Inside a pink teacup near spawn. Break the brown ceramic to access it through fishing.
  • Key Two: Atop a pile of dice near spawn.
  • Key Three: Inside a sugar cube pile near the second key's location.
  • Key Four: Inside a pink cupcake. Use your royal shovel to access it.

Once you have all four cage keys, return to Alice once more to unlock the animals' cages. The mess they make will shock both of you, concluding the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest and immediately beginning the Leaving Wonderland mission.

Sakuratide armor sets

Unlike most armor sets in Monster Hunter Wilds that radiate brute strength, the Sakuratide gear offers a gentler charm with its graceful design and vivid colors. We're here to show you how to unlock and utilize its perks in Monster Hunter Wilds' Festival of Accord: Blossomdance event.

How to unlock Sakuratide armor in MH Wilds

You must get a Blossomdance Ticket to unlock the complete Sakuratide armor set in MH Wilds. There are a few ways to obtain these tickets, often requiring you to defeat a giant fiend while the spring event is active. You'll then need to acquire the following ingredients:

Sakura armor pieces Ingredients
Sakuratide Headgear α  x1 Blossomdance Ticket
x3 Carbalite Ore
Sakuratide Robe α  x1 Blossomdance Ticket
x1 Carbalite Ore
Sakuratide Bracers α  x1 Blossomdance Ticket
x1 Carbalite Ore
Sakuratide Obi α  x1 Blossomdance Ticket
x1 Carbalite Ore
Sakuratide Hakama α  x1 Blossomdance Ticket
x2 Carbalite Ore

Collecting all five Blossomdance Tickets can be a bit of a grind, but there's a clever way to speed things up. Equip at least two pieces of the Sakuratide set to activate its unique skill, which increases your odds of earning extra tickets. As for the required Carbalite Ore, it may take some effort to gather. You can obtain it as a reward from Optional Quests or mine it directly from deposits.

Missions such as Doshaguma Hunt, Annihilating Anguise, and Blangonga Excursion often include these as their rewards. If you've chosen the mining route, only do this while at High Rank, or you'll end up with lower-tier materials. Furthermore, some NPCs will reward you with Carbalite Ore for lending a hand—Zatoh, for example, offers three of them in the Beware of the Gypceros quest.

How to use Sakuratide armor in MH Wilds

Once you've earned your Blossomdance Ticket, head over to the Smithy and switch to the High Rank tab to discover the new Sakuratide armor recipe. In addition, you'll unlock the Felyne Papier-Mâché α gear for your Palico. This whimsical outfit will make your feline companion even more adorable, decked out in a playful, cat-themed mascot-like armor.

The Sakuratide armor set provides several advantages, but its standout features are the Blossomdance Prayer and Festival Spirit skills. These abilities are beneficial when hunting for rare gear tied to the event. As mentioned earlier, Blossomdance Prayer boosts the likelihood of special items appearing in your quest rewards. To unlock its full potential, however, you'll need to equip at least four of the five Sakuratide pieces. Festival Spirit is equally valuable, granting an extra carving opportunity and increasing your material haul from monsters.

If you have the Blossomdance Prayer ability active and haven't received many special items, consider jumping into multiplayer matches like SOS or Lobby. Several players have found that the skill seems to trigger more effectively in these settings, as solo missions often fail to activate its abilities.

Sakuratide armor stats and buffs

For a full breakdown of the Sakuratide set's buffs, here's what you can look forward to:

  • Defense: 36
  • Fire Res: 2
  • Water Res: 2
  • Thunder Res: -3
  • Ice Res: 2
  • Dragon Res: 2
  • Foray Equipment Skill: Increases attack power and affinity against large monsters affected by poison or paralysis
  • Adaptability Equipment Skill: Grants protection against environmental damage
  • Quick Sheathe Equipment Skill: Speed up weapon sheathing
  • Item Prolonger Equipment Skill: Extends the duration of some item effects
  • Blossomdance Prayer Set Bonus: During Blossomdance, adds special items to quest rewards (no effect when joining mid-quest)
  • Festival Spirit Set Bonus: Allows you to carve one additional time from the carcass during the quest (no effect when joining mid-quest)

Compared to other High Rank gear, the Sakuratide set isn't all that great defensively. Still, I highly suggest using it during the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance to farm the tickets as quickly as possible. You can also transmog the outfit via your Base Camp if you want an elegant look for your Hunter's build.
