However, if you were to tell them that it's from the same people that made Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac, I'm sure they'd be able to understand much quicker. Aside from coming from some pretty notable indie devs, there still might be the question of why it's such a big deal that Mewgenics finally got a trailer, and the answer to that is (kind of) simple: it was announced 13 years ago. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Saturday, April 5, 2025 1:00 PM ![]() It's not exactly much of a secret that a lot of indie devs are struggling to stay afloat these days given the economic *gestures vaguely at a world map.* No one has an exact solution either, but last December, just before the release of its latest game Hyper Light Breaker, noted indie developer Heart Machine announced that they were opening a Patreon. I won't act like this is exactly a novel concept, I've seen a few other devs, typically on the smaller or solo size, try the same thing. But it still felt like a sign that Heart Machine needed a bit of a boost to keep things going. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Saturday, April 5, 2025 11:56 AM ![]() Fishing! It's a feature that's been included in many games over the years, one that varies in quality from game to game. Sega Bass Fishing? Probably top of the line, as long as you have that unique fishing rod controller. Stardew Valley? I like it, but I know plenty of people that hate it. Personally I normally find it quite a relaxing thing to do, particularly in games that are otherwise combat focused. Fallout 76 is one such game that's more about shooting rather than chilling out, but over on the public test server you can now try out its version of fishing. |

Viz Media picking up Kazuyoshi Seto's Minecraft: The Manga is interesting! In many situations, manga adaptations of games can offer different vibes or approaches to stories. They may even offer a chance to spend more time with certain subjects. However, the design direction and narrative decisions mean that this feels like a shonen series with a bit of Minecraft flavor, rather than a tale that could only be told in the game's universe.
Editor's Note: There will be some minor spoilers for the first volume of Minecraft: The Manga below.
Rather than following Steve or Alex, Minecraft: The Manga goes with an original character and standard sort of shonen storyline. Nico White is a crafter who wants to become an adventurer like his father. Everyone in the White family has a mark on their hands signifying their Mod power. This allows them to make things nobody else can, all without a crafting table. When heading to the mines to work for the first time when ten, zombies appear and overwhelm his group. The power to mod shines through, he crafts a much needed sword. He saves the day! However, that awakened ability means he can't stay home any longer, so he sets out on an adventure to reach the end of the world.
Here's the thing. While there are references to certain uniqueenemies and gameplay elements, such as Creepers, crafting, and mining, Minecraft: The Manga generally feels like any typical shonen manga geared toward kids. The age range is right, with Nico heading out at about the same age as kids would in the Pokemon series. There are gag elements, like with the Animal Crossing adaptation. A lot of it is more about reaching the end of the world, which isn't uncommon in these types of adventure stories. The allies, such as Gray the human with a mod curse mark that makes him look like a zombie and Yamabuki the failed ninja journeying to redeem himself. If it wasn't for the aesthetic, it wouldn't necessarily feel very "Minecraft."
This isn't to say an effort isn't made by Seto to bring in those elements from the game. Nico uses equipment like pickaxes and swords. Blocks come up quite a bit. We see references to the hearts used to track HP in a dire situation, and a sense of starvation kicks off the second chapter. All of the enemies are also pulled from the game, as are animals and terrain types.
![]()
However, the idea of maintaining the themes also isn't tried and true. The character designs are a good example. Everyone's head is shaped like a cube in Minecraft: The Manga, just as in the game. However, their bodies look… pretty normal and not angular. Also, facial features end up veering into more traditional manga expressions and designs, rather than blocky ones from the game. Gray is an exception, but the extremely expressive Nico is a good example of just going with designs that you'd expect in any shonen manga geared toward kids.
This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean that Minecraft: The Manga feels like any young shonen series that just so happens to take place in the world of the game. The adventure ends up sometimes feeling a bit generic as a result. Every once in a while, they'll be a reference to gameplay or an element pulled from the title. But it doesn't really shape the story. Instead, it's just another coming of age tale about a young kid trying to become a hero. For its target audience, this could be all someone needs, but I don't think it would hold the attention of anyone older or more experienced with similar stories.
Volume 1 of the Minecraft: The Manga is available now, and Viz Media will release volume 2 on June 10, 2025. The original game is available on the New 3DS, Switch, PS3, PS4, PS5, Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices.

There are so many takes on gods living in modern times in manga. Kamisama Kiss and Ah My Goddess both spring to mind. We could consider Death Note one as well. Yen Press' The Failure at God School, from The Apothecary Diaries author Natsu Hyuuga, is another take on the concept that not only involves gods in everyday life, but gets into the training for such deities.
Editor's Note: There will be minor spoilers for first volume of The Failure at God School manga below.
Much like The Apothecary Diaries, the star of The Failure at God School manga is a young woman named Nagi. Her family tends the Hibiya Shrine, and her deceased grandmother used to be its god. After her passing, that leaves them looking for a replacement Himiko with powers who can live there and assist the town. While her twin brother Takeru is a Himiko with abilities, he won't take up the role due to personal trauma, so there's been nobody who can properly serve the community and fill the role for five years. She's tried to push him into taking the government god exam, but he won't.
When the town's butcher's grandson, a young boy who had been certified as a Himiko, is spirited away, this spurs Nagi into action. When taking a shortcut to get to school, she starts to realize the area is one where a child could be lost. After passing a shrine, the world shifts and she finds the missing kid. As she starts to carry him out, she feels some entity pulling them back. Somehow, she is able to sever the connection and get them both back to freedom. This catches the attention of a Himiko named Tsukuyomi who is in town for the city hall inauguration, as she managed to overcome an "evil presence." He and his manager then find Nagi and the boy and aid them, recognizing something special about her in the process. As a result, she gets accepted into Kannagara Academy, a school for Himiko who can become gods.
![]()
From there, The Failure at God School starts to feel a bit like a typical high school manga in which an underdog with incredible potential is involved. Nagi still isn't totally aware of herself and her powers. As such, she's considered the titular "failure." Some of that teasing almost seems a bit good natured, as while Monaka can come across harsh, Sagami seems more lighthearted. So even if they're critical, we can see there's still a friendship there and affection. As a result, the segment in which we're learning about how her power is "unidentified" comes across as more funny than traumatic. There are also similarly funny moments with a certain teacher determined to use her as a test subject and find out more about her potential.
I do appreciate the moments we do get glimpses of what Nagi is capable of in the The Failure at God School manga. Because in those sections, it can be both impressive and incredibly funny. After all, she ends up with the nickname "Grizzly Killer." This could have felt like a fairly typical story of a high schooler who's underestimated and gets a chance to make good. But the humor behind it, as well as the possible potential and "identity" of Nagi, really helps set this story apart. Even though some of the steps to get to places might feel similar, the dynamics are engaging. Especially since Nagi's personality is quite endearing.
The Failure at God School can feel like other manga series about young adults who are coming to terms with powers and training them, especially since the star is someone with possibly incredible potential who is completely underestimated. It's the execution that makes it stand out sometimes. Nagi's demeanor, her reactions to the situations she's in, and the way others behave mean it can often feel both fascinating and quite funny. I would dare say it's promising in the same way Hyuuga's The Apothecary Diaries is.
Volume 1 of The Failure at God School is available now, and Yen Press will release the second volume of the manga on July 22, 2025.

Magic The Gathering has had so many sets over the years that it's almost impossible to remember them all by heart, but we sure can remember whenever a new expansion set would bring cards that would shake the game to its core.
Let's look at the most powerful sets in the history of MTG and find out which one reigns supreme, shall we?
10. Exodus
![]()
Exodus features a collection of some pretty brutal and efficient cards. This is the set that introduced Hatred, a card that allows players to sacrifice their own life to buff a creature in the hopes to kill the opponent in one swift move, Recurring Nightmare, a staple of early resurrection, and Survival Of The Fittest, a card that allowed players to discard creature cards to look for more powerful creature cards in their deck, and Mind Over Matter, a pretty overpowered control option.
Exodus also saw many of its old-but-not-dead find a new life in Commander.
9. Onslaught
![]()
On top of some pretty brutal creatures like Visara, Exalted Angel, Ravenous Baloth, Goblin Piledriver, and Goblin Sharpshooter, Onslaught also introduced a myriad of fetch lands, the best type of land card in the game.
Onslaught resurfaced with Commander, with cards such as the once mid Cover Of Darkness becoming pretty popular in the genre.
8. Worldwake
![]()
2010's Worldwake introduced Jace, The Mind Sculptor, which would remain the most ridiculously overpowered Planeswalker card for many years straight.
Even after Jace got rightfully banned, Worldwake would still have the fantastic Avenger Of Zendikar, an elemental capable of greatly empowering your army of plants, Death's Shadow, an avatar that only gets more dangerous as its controller gets weaker, Stoneforge Mystic, a utility master, and even extremely useful common cards like Bojuka Bog and Treasure Hunt.
7. Legends
![]()
Legends is not the name of a Best of collection, but it very well could've been. This is one of the best sets, especially if you're into Black. It features All Hallows Eve, The Abyss, Chains of Mephistopheles, and Nether Void, a collection of some of the most powerful cards ever seen in a set.
Outside of black, Legends features other, well, legendary cards, such as Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, Moat, and Mana Drain.
6. Mirrodin
![]()
Mirrodin revamped MTG's card aesthetics and also sent the whole game into upheaval. After so many years of neglect, MTG put artifacts in the spotlight and, through a new artifact-favoring mechanic called "Affinity" and some of the most powerful artifacts in the game's history, Mirrodin completely changed the MTG for a while.
The standout cards are the Chrome Mox, one of the best mana-generators ever based on the legendary mox cards of old, Isochron Scepter, Extraplanar Lens, and Chalice of the Void.
5. Throne of Eldraine
![]()
Some cards alone are enough to elevate an entire set to ridiculous heights. That card here would be Oko, Thief Of Crowns, a Planeswalker so powerful it got banned everywhere outside of Commander and Vintage for breaking the scene upon arrival.
Still, Throne of Eldraine features other banger cards, such as the also-banned Once Upon A Time, the fantastic fetch land Fabled Passage, Brazen Burrower, a flying creature that can come out of nowhere with a great control option, and the incredibly destructive and sneaky Embercleave.
4. Antiquities
![]()
Antiquities still carries a some of that deranged dark feel of early Magic, as it features some ridiculously overpowered cards no one suspected could break the game.
Antiquities features a bunch of extremely powerful lands, such as Mishra's Workshop and Mishra's Factory, but is also strong in its artifact game with the artifact Candelabra of Tawnos and excellent artifact-related cards such as Transmute Artifact and Power Artifact.
3. Arabian Nights
![]()
Arabian Nights was the first real expansion set after Beta, Revised, and Unlimited, which mostly just rehashed Alpha. However, it still retains some of the absolutely unhinged, overpowered DNA of OG MTG.
It features awesome creatures like the iconic Juzám Djinn, the first creature that would hurt its owner just so it would hurt their opponent even harder, and Old Man of the Sea, another devious Djinn capable of hijacking the opponent's creatures. It also has Oubliette, one of the best creature control options ever, and Library of Alexandria and Bazaar of Baghdad, two of the best lands in the game.
2. Urza's Saga
![]()
This set is what you get when you pull out all the stops. Urza's Saga has some of the best cards from all types, an absolute bonanza of mana, power, creatures, and fantastic abilities.
Urza's Saga introduced some of the best lands in the game, like Gaea's Cradle and the very banned Tolarian Academy, but also revolutionary creatures such as Morphling, Gilded Drake, and ultra-powerful spells like Time Spiral and Yawgmoth's will.
1. Alpha
![]()
In more recent years, we saw the introduction of new and supposedly more powerful cards, such as the Planeswalker type cards, but nothing beats the overpowered naivety of the OG. Alpha came out when the makers of the series were barely aware of what MTG would become — and of how easily they could break it.
Thus, Alpha is home to what the elders call the "Power 9", a group of cards so shamelessly overpowered they would never be printed today for competitive play. The Black Lotus, an artifact you can sacrifice at no cost to get three mana, is the most well-known of the bunch for its rarity and absurd price, but every other card from the group is ridiculous as well. Extra turns at no cost? Getting to draw three cards whenever you want for one mana? Artifacts with zero cost that generated mana with no drawbacks? Alpha was wild, and there will never be anything like it ever again.

What began as a script for an episode of The X-Files ended up as one of the most surprising and lucrative horror film franchises in history.
With Final Destination: Bloodlines looming menacingly over the horizon, as well as The Monkey, the spectacular horror-comedy take on Final Destination's formula shocking audiences everywhere, it's perhaps time to look at a final ranking of the five movies in this series.
The Final Destination (2009)
![]()
Even though it's by far the biggest moneymaker in the series, this foray into cheap 3D deaths and expensive tickets is easily its lowest point.
Even though it features a decent intro with a lot of mayhem at a race, The Final Destination then devolves into a string of nonsensical and silly-looking kills that fail to be anything other than unintentionally funny. That's quite the problem for the series that thrives by creating new fears of everyday stuff with each new installment.
Final Destination 3 (2006)
![]()
Final Destination 3 sits at a strange spot. Its opening sequence — one of the most important elements of this series — is good. Still, the rest of the deaths, due to a strange overuse of unrealistic CGI, fail to capture the realistic look of the kills in the first two movies, which, despite not necessarily being so, have always felt that way.
Also, Final Destination 3 fails to take the series in a new direction, and the ending feels extra mean and a definite step down from the more interesting ending of the first sequel.
Final Destination 5 (2011)
![]()
I'm glad for the existence of the fifth entry in the Final Destination series and not just to guarantee that The Final Destination doesn't actually end up as the de facto final movie.
Final Destination 5's intro sequence isn't spectacular because of some less-than-stellar CGI and some surprisingly PG deaths, but the concept rules. The deaths throughout the movie are also uneven and never really hit the high bar set by the best movies in the series, but the film makes up for it with a great ending that provides a neat twist that ties the whole series together.
Final Destination (2000)
![]()
The original Final Destination deserves a high place on the list, not simply for coming up with the concept but also for giving us one of the most solid and freshest horror movies of the modern era. Though the intro sequence is far from the greatest in the series, and a few of the kills get convoluted to the point of you wondering if you're looking at slapstick comedy, the movie's fresh take on horror brings it a notch above most other movies in the series.
Though it remains a blast for newcomers even in 2025, the formula and flow would only reach its peak in the following feature.
Final Destination 2 (2003)
![]()
Movie sequels tend to follow the rule that bigger is better. Final Destination 2 does that, and it just works. The intro sequence is not just the most memorable in the series but one of the best in horror history in general. From then on, the movie gives us the most original, surprising, and coolest death sequences in the series.
It completely changed how we look at the concept and completely traumatized an entire generation regarding the seemingly normal concept of driving behind log transportation trucks. If you know, you know. Also, Final Destination 2 is the first movie to end on a hopeful note, a welcome change after an entire movie's worth of cutthroat suspense. It's a shame that the series pretty much ignored this ending going forward.

Having the ability to make strains in Schedule 1 is certainly useful (thanks to the increased sale value), and this guide will brief you about creating mixes worth more than $60.
The biggest objective in Schedule 1 is to make a lot of money, as it directly helps grow your empire. Beginners won't have access to either Meth or Cocaine, and you'll have to make different Marijuana strains. Thankfully, making a strain worth $60 or more is a pretty easy task.
Best Schedule 1 strain mix worth over $60
For this challenge, I will be using OG Kush, which is the most beginner-friendly drug to get. This is the cheapest seed you can purchase inside the game, and it's available for all from the start. This is the hardest drug to sell at a high price, and it's the perfect product for my experiment.
Typically, you can sell a piece of OG Kush between $35-$40 (depending on your negotiating skills as I have even sold them for $50 a piece). I will be listing an advanced strain with the OG Kush, which is the cheapest option available with a market valuation of over $60. To provide more options for players, I have also shared a recipe with Sour Diesel.
![]()
Here's the recipe strain you want to use to create a strain worth more than $60 while keeping your costs low.
This recipe creates Aspen Ass, which has a market value of $68. You have to spend an additional $7 worth of ingredients (Banana and Cuke cost $2 each while Donut costs $3) to practically double your revenue (if you negotiate well).
This recipe creates Aspen Shart, which has a market value of $61. While its valuation is lower than Aspen Ass', you spend $3 less to produce it. Again, the final sale price will depend on your negotiation skills.
I am not a fan of using Granddaddy Purple or Green Crack, but mixing one Cuke and one Banana will also produce a product worth over $60 market value.
Can you make a Meth/Cocaine strain in Schedule 1 with more than $60 market value?
With Meth and Cocaine, the strain doesn't matter, as even the cheapest one will have valuations above $60. Any Meth strain you produce will have a market value over $60, as the recommended price of Meth is $70. An advanced strain will automatically have a valuation of over $70. The same system applies to Cocaine, which has a recommended market price of $150.

Life is beautiful when you have some nice music to listen to. During BitLife's Bittersweet Symphony challenge, you'll understand the joys of music as you master the piano, pursue a career in the music industry, and attempt to escape crippling debt.
Table of contents
BitLife Bittersweet Symphony challenge guide
BitLife's Bittersweet Symphony challenge has five tasks to complete:
Although you're not required to buy any career packs or expansions for this challenge, having the Musician pack will unlock the musical special talent for your character. This talent makes it slightly easier to master instruments, but you can complete this challenge without it if you're a free-to-play player.
Be born a male in Austria
The first objective of BitLife's Bittersweet Symphony is to create a male character born in Austria. When making your character, choose Male as your starting gender and Austria as your country. The place doesn't matter for this particular challenge, so I chose the option the game defaulted to, Vienna.
![]()
If you have the Music special career pack, you can pick Music as your special talent, making it easier to master instruments like the piano later. However, this is optional, and it's very easy to complete the challenge without this extra step if you don't have access to this feature.
Master the piano
Once your character turns six, they'll have access to the Instruments menu under Mind and Body. As a child, your character will have to ask their parents whether they can take lessons, to which the parents will answer yes or no. Starting these early will make it much easier to master the piano later.
![]()
If your parents say no to lessons, remake your character or try again another year. Typically, your parents say no happens because of low Money or Generosity stats, so you may have to make another character or two if you low-roll either of these. Otherwise, your odds of them saying yes are relatively high.
You can take lessons three times a year for free until your character reaches adulthood, so take advantage of this and attend as many as possible until you master the piano. If your progress is very slow after a few years, you can remake your character and try again or spend some extra time in adulthood leveling it up. It'll cost money once you turn 18, but considering we'll need to go into debt later, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Become a Music Composer
Once your character turns 18, it's time to become a music composer. Becoming a music composer requires a university degree, with Music having the highest odds of success. Its starting salary is relatively low, so scroll to the bottom of the list as you check. If it doesn't appear right away, age up or close and reopen the BitLife app before rechecking.
![]()
The role you're looking for is Apprentice Music Composer. It'll appear with a piano emoji and requires no job experience. Once you find it, apply for the job and pass the interview to become a music composer, knocking out another challenge task.
Taxidermy three or more pets
Throughout your character's life, you'll want to adopt at least three pets that you can taxidermy later. You can adopt an animal by heading to Activities, Pets, and either going to the Pet Store or Animal Shelter. Your best bet for this challenge is to adopt some elderly pets and give them as much love as possible before aging up.
![]()
Once they pass the rainbow bridge, you'll find options to mourn them or have them taxidermized. Choose Taxidermy and pick whichever option your character can afford before doing this three total times. What you do with them now is entirely up to you.
Go into debt
Your last task is to go into debt. There are many ways to do this, with the options below being a few suggestions:
Combining some of these methods will make it very easy to go into debt, letting you complete BitLife's Bittersweet Symphony challenge. As a reward for your efforts, you'll receive a mystery box containing a cosmetic item. At what cost? A lot, but at least it was fun. At least BitLife lets you win the lottery to make some money back.

Typing is a necessary skill in the modern world. Computer technology dominates everything from work to relaxation, and writing things by hand seems to be a dying art. Everyone know she QWERTY keyboard and touch typing is a valuable skill.
Typing quickly and accurately will only help in life, but learning how to do that doesn't need to be boring. Gaming can help, and there are a lot of typing games on Steam to help.
Whether you're a fan of medieval city builders, horror games, or just want something running in the background to boost your productivity, here are 10 of the best typing games available on Steam that can really boost your typing skills and keep you entertained along the way.
The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia
![]()
Let's start this list with possibly the most mental of all of the games I plan to include, and let me introduce you to The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia. It's a curious (and mildly infuriating) mix of bullet hell and typing practice, but if you want to survive against the demonic entities, you'll need quick fingers.
Your job in The Textorcist is to type out entire exorcisms (yes, they're in Latin) while dodging the bullet hell mechanics. You're in control of both, so you will employ all of your brainpower to make it through the various levels. However, if you want to focus on one and not the other, you can plug in a gamepad and simply enjoy the bullet dodging, minus the pressure of typing.
Cozy Typer
![]()
While many of the games included on this list involve some level of stress and frustration, Cozy Typer is exactly what it says on the tin. It's a dedicated game to help you improve your typing speed and accuracy, and all you need to do is type out the phrases on the screen while enjoying the cozy, pixel-art atmosphere.
Throughout the story, Anita will guide you through the various typing lessons and offer you grades at the end of each session, plus advice on how you can improve. Any phrases you type perfectly in Story Mode are unlocked for Freeplay Mode, so you can practice and get quicker every time you revisit the text.
Touch Type Tale
![]()
Touch Type Tale is a beautiful example of everything a typing game could possibly be. The best thing about it is that it's fully narrated by Jim Broadbent (Professor Slughorn in Harry Potter or Frank Butterman in Hot Fuzz, among endless other roles), making it incredible in my eyes.
Touch Type Tale is a mixture of city-building and typing practice. Your aim in each level is to set up a village, make money, and defeat any bandits that threaten the peace and tranquility of your typing-based medieval life. You do all this by typing, with capitalized words controlling buildings and activities and non-capitalized ones controlling your troops.
Bongo Cat
![]()
I am obsessed with this little meme-based desktop friend and while technically you couldn't really describe him as a game, per se, he is still deserving of a place on this list and I love him. So he's here, and I make no apology for that.
Bongo Cat sits on your desktop and bashes away at his bongos every time you type. Not only does he boost your productivity by simply existing and bashing away, but you'll also earn hats and skins as you type. He is a permanent fixture on my desktop, and he's free to download. Plus, you can sell your hats on the Steam Community Market.
Keys of Fury
![]()
If you're a fan of beat 'em up games and retro graphics but also want to improve your typing skills and speed (I know, that's a weird crossover), then Keys of Fury will soon be here to help! Every time you type a perfect word with no typos, you'll earn coins that can then be used to purchase upgrades, outfits, and other goodies.
There are multiple game modes to keep your attention, including Story Mode, Tower Mode, and Challenge Mode. The game is designed to be easily modded as well, so you can even insert your word selections to test yourself against. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, anyone? Sadly, you'll need to wait to play this one, but it's set to release at some point in 2025.
The Typing of the Dead: Overkill
![]()
A new take on the old House of the Dead series of games, which hold some pretty traumatic memories for my childhood self, Tying of the Dead: Overkill takes the familiar rail-shooter mechanics and throws in the added complication of needing a fast typing speed to survive. Words are completely randomized, so it's not as if you can memorize a sequence to improve your chances, either.
If you're not very good at typing quickly, then I'd recommend trying some of the more relaxed games on this list before diving into this fantastic and quirky horror. On the plus side, there are multiple DLCs available once you get through the main game, and even a fully faithful port of the PlayStation 3 version of House of the Dead is included.
Blood Typers
![]()
The tagline for Blood Typers is "death is just a typo away", and they're not kidding. You enter into a cursed film studio and immediately get attacked by the horror characters from horror movies of the past. You need to type very quickly to kill the enemies coming at you, so touch typing is a must, but you can team up with friends as the game offers online co-op as well.
There's a little bit of a "choose your own adventure" vibe, which, combined with the delightfully retro art style, leaves you feeling almost nostalgic for horror games of yesteryear. It's genuinely pretty terrifying when you're up against one of the zombies and you've made a typo you didn't notice, and nothing is working like it should.
Every Letter
![]()
If you've ever watched Violet Evergarden and thought, "Hey, I wouldn't mind being an Auto Memories Doll", then Every Letter might be the closest you'll get to achieving that dream, and it's completely free on Steam. You'll be writing letters on behalf of other people, trying to understand their thoughts, and then putting them to paper in the best way.
You get a typewriter and full creative control over what you type, so you don't even need to be particularly good at touch typing to do well. Everything is pretty relaxed, although you can't delete anything you write, so any mistakes are permanent fixtures in the letters that you craft up for customers.
Glyphica: Typing Survival
![]()
Glyphica: Typing Survival is a survival game that sees you typing out randomized words to shoot at enemies approaching you around the screen. As you kill more enemies, you level up and unlock new perks to use in battle. Everything is decided by typing, and you won't be able to take your eyes off the screen for very long, so you'll need to develop some touch typing skills to get through the rounds.
Glyphica: Typing Survival entered early access in October 2024 and is available in multiple languages. A whole roadmap of content will eventually be added to the game, including new upgrades, weapons, game modes, and a lot more.
The Chef's Shift
![]()
The Chef's Shift is set to release on March 31, but there's a demo that can be downloaded now. At first glance, it seems like a restaurant manager sim that should be pretty cozy, and it starts out that way too. Typing your way through the day, prepping orders and dishing out coffee is really fun, and the art style is really cute to boot. There's an underlying story, and every level is accompanied by upbeat Italian 'pizzeria style' music.
However, as you progress and add in four-step pizza making, multiple types of drinks, and rats that need dealing with quickly, it all gets pretty stressful. You'll definitely get better at touch typing, though, and even the menu is controlled by typing the various words, and sometimes tourists come in who will test you further by asking for foreign words to be typed.

Best players to use in EA FC 25 Jack of All Trades Evolution
Here are some of the best cards to consider for this evolution.
These items make the best choices and utilize this evolution well, and you won't even need to combine the cards with other upgrades.
Which cards should you use in the Jack of All Trades Evolution
The Jack of All Trades Evolution makes your selected cards versatile and allows them to play in new positions. I am not a fan of this evolution, even if it's available for free. At this stage of the game, we should be receiving evolutions like Strike Force, which offer a more tangible impact on the metagame.
Try to use cards rated 80 or lower for this evolution, and bring them up to 88-90 overall. Then, chain them in other evolutions to add new playstyles and roles. If you can't chain the Jack of All Trades Evolution with at least one other one, I don't see much use for the boosts. In that case, try using the cards I mentioned here to get the best possible returns.

The ultimate 100-room "tower" event awaits you. In the Arise Crossover Infernal Castle, you can earn many rewards, including G-rank Shadows, as well as Rare and Legendary Powder Dust. To get you ready before you dive into this challenge, we prepared the following Arise Crossover Infernal Castle event guide.
Table of Contents
Arise Crossover Infernal Castle Event Walkthrough
![]()
The Infernal Castle event in Arise Crossover occurs every hour at XX:45 minutes. To enter the Infernal Castle, go to the spawn area of the Solo City and enter the flaming gate. However, you have to be quick about it as the gate remains open only for 10 minutes. Also, keep in mind that you have to take on the Infernal Castle challenge on your own, as you can't party up before entering it.
Progressing Through the Rooms of the Infernal Castle
![]()
When you enter the Infernal Castle, you will have 100 rooms to beat. With each room, enemies will have more and more HP. At the beginning, there is a time limit of 15 minutes. However, when you defeat the last enemy in a room, you will regain some of that time. We suggest getting the Instant Destroy battlepass to stay efficient with time while clearing the Infernal Castle.
Infernal Castle Event Rewards
![]()
While progressing through the 100 rooms of the Infernal Castle, you can arise or destroy enemies for rewards. By arising enemies here, you can even get S, SS, and G-rank versions of them. Also, every five rooms, you get to fight Vermillion (Igris). If you choose to arise it, you can possibly arise the G-rank version of it, which is one of the best Shadows in the game.
![]()
When destroying enemies, you can get Common, Rare, and Legendary Powder Dust. Also, you can get weapons that those enemies drop in the relevant Dungeons they are from. Keep in mind that both Powder Dust and weapons are rare drops. So, consider getting the 2X Drops Chance battlepass to increase your drop rates.
That sums up our guide on the Infernal Castle event in Arise Crossover. If you want to find out how to get more DPS from your Shadows, then make sure to check out our guides on how to level up and upgrade Shadows in Arise Crossover.

If you are a true Fischerman, you need to collect all the new Animals in Fisch. These quirky additions feature fish that are fused with real animals. Think crocodile-fish or bird-fish hybrids, and they're just as funny as they sound. But don't let the laughs fool you, as some of these animal-fish combos are super hard to get, so you'll want to bring your best gear. Whether you're hunting for laughs or legendary catches, follow our Animals fishing guide in Fisch to get them all.

Fisch Animals List
Below is a complete and detailed list of all Animals in Fisch:
Fortunately, all the fish in the list above can be caught from the same location, and you do not need to do any special actions. Finding an Animal Pool is the trickiest part of this, so if you want to learn how to find it, visit our Animal Pool locations guide.
Animal Pool Fishing Tips & Tricks
![]()
Each fish requires its own favorite bait to be caught effectively, so come prepared with a variety of different baits. We recommend stocking up on Fish Heads, Flakes, and Seaweed in order to catch the best fish. To fish the Octopanth, you will need a special bait: Golden Worm. The best way to get it is to buy it with Robux or get lucky.
The best rods to use to catch them are the Free Spirit Rod and the Great Dreamer Rod. Any rod that can reel in above 1000 KG is good. But getting those special effects in and boosting the money you get from selling them is the most important thing. You can also go with the Rod of the Depths and try to get lucky with the random fish passive.
That is all for our Animals fishing guide in Fisch. Learn how to catch Leviathans in our Fisch Leviathan Guide.

When Stardew Valley received update 1.5 on PC and consoles in December 2020, it also received a new island called Ginger Island, and let me tell you, there's a lot to do there. With some new additions in subsequent updates, there's never been a better time to find paradise.
To reach Ginger Island, which is essentially your home away from home once you've established yourself, you'll first need to complete the Community Center bundles — or the equivalent JojaMart questline if you're a Stardew Valley player with a wild side.
This means there's potentially a ton of setup if you're a new player who hasn't already gone through the game's "main quest." If you have, there isn't too much extra work.
Trust me, though, it's worth it — Ginger Island is one of the best parts of Stardew Valley.
Table of contents
How to fix Willy's Boat in Stardew Valley
![]()
Once you've finished your Community Center bundles or JojaMart payments, Willy will mail you a letter saying he has unlocked the backroom in the Fish Shop. The letter can take two days to arrive, so hang in there.
Prior to update 1.5, this ominous black door inside the shop didn't serve a purpose, but now it's your ticket to Ginger Island. Inside the Fish Shop's unlocked room, you'll find a decades-old boat in need of repairs. As is often the case in Stardew Valley, your job is only just getting started.
SPECIAL OFFER: Earn Money By Playing Games With Pogo
To get the boat in working order, you'll need to gather a selection of items, each taking a fair amount of work. There's no other way to reach Ginger Island without repairing the boat, so strap in because this might take a while.
Five Iridium Bars
You need these to fix the anchor of the boat. Otherwise, you'll float past Ginger Island, and nobody wants to see paradise slip through their fingers or disappear over the horizon. There are a few different ways to get your hands on these:
Five Battery Packs
There's no use fixing the boat if you haven't fixed the machine, which will give you your ticket to Ginger Island. You'll need 5 Battery Packs to fix the ticket machine, and, thankfully, these are pretty easy to get:
Hardwood
Ensure the boat doesn't sink before you reach your destination. For that, you'll need hardwood. 200, to be exact.
This hardwood is the most challenging resource in this quest to get your hands on, but if you plant some mahogany trees on the farm, they'll grow into trees that you can chop down to get hardwood. On top of this, the Secret Woods (to the west of Cindersap Forest) has daily regenerating Hardwood stumps, which you can break to obtain 12 Hardwood per day.
How to get to Ginger Island in Stardew Valley
After repairing Willy's boat, you'll be allowed into the Fish Shop at 8:00 a.m. every day. This is worth mentioning since time is money in Stardew Valley, and it's important to maximize it until you can set up a new beachfront property. You don't want to doze off.
Traveling to Ginger Island works like traveling to the Calico Desert once you've repaired the bus. Purchase a ticket, enter the boat, and sit back while Willy does all the hard work.
One last note! Before you take off with Willy, make sure you bring a watering can on your first trip — it's not necessarily a tool you use daily at this point in your playthrough, but you'll need it if you poke around the Volcano Dungeon.
What's on Ginger Island in Stardew Valley?
![]()
After an initial cutscene the first time you visit, you'll be free to explore the parts of Ginger Island that are currently unlocked to you. Ginger Island holds a myriad of secrets to uncover, so get ready for an adventure.
Golden Walnuts
Unfortunately, unlocking new areas and features of Ginger Island requires something a little unusual — Golden Walnuts. These can be exchanged with Parrots, who will grant you access to new locations. You'll need at least 100 of these nuts held aside to unlock Qi's Walnut Room, where you can find a few new things to keep you occupied, such as the Perfection Tracker.
Beyond this, you'll need them to unlock Ginger Island's regions, buildings, and other resources to make traversing this area easier. Most of them are hiding on the island, but you can occasionally find them by killing monsters, farming, fishing, and breaking crates in the Volcano Dungeon.
Volcano Dungeon
![]()
If you enjoy the mines and Skull Cavern, I have good news: Ginger Island has its own dungeon. Volcano Dungeon, located in the northernmost region of Ginger Island, has ten levels, much like floors 80 to 120 of the regular Mines. However, it comes with its own set of enemies and obstacles, including lava you can extinguish with a watering can. Advancing to the end of this dungeon gives you access to the Volcano's forge, letting you pay Cinder Shards to get exclusive perks on your tools and weapons.
Island Farmhouse
![]()
Much like the mainland, Ginger Island has its own farmhouse on the island's west side, which you can live in and upgrade. Its first initial repair costs 20 Golden Walnuts, with a mailbox upgrade costing five walnuts and an Obelisk costing 20. It'll act like a fully upgraded house, giving you an additional place to decorate or spend the night.
Buildings and stores
Alongside the farmhouse and Volcano Dungeon, Ginger Island has additional structures you can build and explore:
These all serve different purposes on Ginger Island, with the Beach Resort acting as a bar and the Pirate Cove being a great fishing spot on the island's east side. As you approach the island's center, you'll encounter Dig Site, a smaller version of Pelican Town's museum, where you can hand in animal bones.
Ginger Island also rewards you for collecting Golden Walnuts. After collecting 100, you'll unlock Qi's Walnut Room and new challenges within and outside the island.
Parrot Express
![]()
Like Pelican Town's minecart system, Ginger Island has a fast-travel system known as the Parrot Express. By paying Golden Walnuts to rebuild these spots, you can teleport around the island, making navigation noticeably easier. There are five Parrot Express locations to unlock:
Characters
There are also new NPCs to meet on Ginger Island. Although none of them are marriage candidates, they all have different purposes, from being your friend to selling you various items. Here's a list of every character you can find on Ginger Island:
If you want a new friend, Leo is who you're looking for. Leo is a young boy who lives within Ginger Island's east jungle and communicates with the island's parrots, including a Golden Walnut Hint parrot. Raising his hearts will unlock new cutscenes with him, including a special event starting from six hearts.
![]()
We also have two quest NPCs — Birdie and Professor Snail. Birdie lives on the west side of Ginger Island and is involved in a brief quest, The Pirate's Wife. Professor Snail runs an Island Field Office near the Dig Site, but you'll first have to spend 10 Golden Walnuts to repair the bridge connecting it to the rest of Ginger Island. Doing so unlocks the Field Office for donating bones.
The Island Trader is Ginger Island's main merchant. You'll initially unlock it by traveling to the middle of the map and using 10 Golden Walnuts to unlock its stall. Afterward, you can buy items like Golden Coconuts, Warp Totems, and furniture for island resources.
Last but not least, we have Mr. Qi. Normally, you can interact with him occasionally as a special NPC during Stardew Valley's quest line. However, his Ginger Island version requires collecting 100 Golden Walnuts to open his walnut room on the west side of the map. Entering this room unlocks Qi challenges, rewarding you with gems you can spend on exclusive rewards.
Special climate
However, the climate is one of the best parts of Ginger Island. Not only is it a tropical paradise where you can feel the sun on your skin, but the farm here also follows the same conventions as the Greenhouse back on the farm. You can grow any crop here, regardless of seasonal limitations. That way, you can plant some of Stardew Valley's best crops without worrying about the weather.

In the world of Fisch on Roblox, the new Animal Pools are one of the coolest (and trickiest) things to find. These mysterious spots spawn randomly, making the hunt both exciting and unpredictable. You'll need a bit of luck and some rare materials if you want a chance to spot one. But if you do, the rewards are totally worth the effort!
Table of Contents
Animal Pool Location in Fisch
![]()
Animal Pools in Fisch have a random chance to spawn at a random location each day. They spawn in both the First and Second Sea, so it does not matter how far in the game you are. Once one spawns, you will receive a chat notification: "An Animal Pool has spawned near a Landmark." Unfortunately, there's no guaranteed way to spawn Animal Pools, but some techniques might improve your chances.
Another way to do it would be to spam the Smokescreen Totem and pray. On average, it doesn't perform as effectively as the Sundial Totem. But it can work if you're lucky and in the right place at the right time.
Animal Pool Bestiary in Fisch
Below is a complete and detailed list of all fish in the Animal Pool:
Fortunately, you can find all the fish listed above in the Animal Pools. You do not need to visit any special locations in order to catch them all. They also sell for a good amount, so fish as many as you can before this limited event ends.
That is all for our Animal Pool guide in Fisch. Make sure to check out our Fisch Leviathan Guide to learn how to catch even more rare Fisch.

The first update in Fisch, since the launch of the Second Sea, has arrived, and it's literally a jungle. Unlike most updates, this one will last for two weeks, and there's quite a bit to talk about. Here's Everything new in the Fisch Animal Update.
Animal Pools in Fisch
![]()
The biggest new addition in this update is Animal Pools (Animal Hunt). These are, essentially, like raid battles in Fisch. When an Animal Pool spawns, an Animal Fish will appear somewhere in the sea with a protective bubble around it. Players need to fish around or inside this bubble in order to lower its HP to zero. You lower the bubble's HP by catching a fish. As you can see, the more players fish at the same time, the faster the protective bubble will disappear.
![]()
Once the bubble is gone, all players compete to catch the single Animal Fish. While this might seem similar to limited time fish, such as Great White Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, and Whale Sharks, with an extra step, there are four main differences.

It's still not clear how these Animal Pools rotate, but we'll update the guide as soon as we get more info.
Abyssal Zenith nerf
![]()
Have you maybe tried to get to the Abyssal Zenith but ended up getting set back by those patrolling fish? Yup, we've been there too, and it definitely took us a few tries to reach the area. Now, this is much easier because the fish can't spot you so easily, you won't bump into as many invisible walls and you also won't be set back to the beginning. Additionally, it seems like it's much easier to get the lanterns from the Baby Anglersh. We can't really confirm this, because we already did this part, but we assume that you won't get eaten by a different Baby Anglerfish while you're trying to grab a lantern from a different one.
Favoriting Fish for crafting fix
Prior to the update, if you caught a fish you needed to craft something, you would obviously favorite it, so you don't sell it accidentally, right? Right, unfortunately, when you actually went to craft the item, you couldn't use these fish because they were... favorited. In other words, we had to unfavorite a fish so we could use it to craft something.
Well, not anymore. Now, if you want to use a favorited fish for crafting, it will just work, without you needing the unfavorite the fish first. Sure, this only saves a few seconds, but it's a welcome fix anyway you look at it.

Version 2.3 of Wuthering Waves will be the game's first anniversary patch. Furthermore, new leaks have surfaced online, suggesting that this update will release a new chibi map for an anniversary event.
Interestingly, Kuro Games may have also teased the chibi event in the recent version 0.1 trailer and version 2.2 livestream. Read on for more details about the leaked chibi map event in version 2.3.
New chibi map for anniversary in version 2.3 (leaks)
The upcoming version 2.3 will celebrate Wuthering Waves' first anniversary. While the developers have confirmed that the new update will arrive early, they haven't revealed any information on the anniversary rewards and events. However, a fairly reliable leaker, wuwaland, has shared multiple images of a new chibi map for an anniversary event in version 2.3.
The map itself doesn't look that big, and it features major landmarks from Huanglong, Black Shores, and Rinascita. The large dragon rock in Mt. Firmament and the city hall in Jinzhou cover half of the map. Meanwhile, the other half showcases a mini Ragunna City and the towers in Thessaleo Fells. Lastly, there's a greenhouse from the Black Shores in the middle of the map.

Furthermore, several small platforms can be seen all over the map, which are likely a path for the chibi characters to travel around the map. Speaking of chibi characters, Kuro Games may have teased the rumored anniversary event in the version 0.1 trailer and version 2.2 livestream.
Rovers' chibi avatars at the end of the trailer match the leaked chibi forms of the characters from the anniversary event. The characters only have a head and two small circles for hands instead of their whole body. Furthermore, the title of the trailer mentions the term - Shrink-laris. This also could be the name of the chibi map in version 2.3's anniversary event.
Version 2.2 livestream also teased the first anniversary by showing miniature rocks, trees, and a large cake getting sucked into a Tacet Mark. This might be another hint for the chibi map.
More on Wuthering Waves' Version 2.3 anniversary patch
Players can also look forward to some exciting rewards in Wuthering Waves 2.3. According to u/Ofanaht, new wings and 10 Radiant Tides will be given away in the upcoming update. However, it is unclear if they are a part of the game's first anniversary rewards or if they will be available in a paid gift box.
The developers will reveal all the details about Wuthering Waves' anniversary in the next livestream, which should happen in the coming weeks.
