If you loved the intricacy and attention to detail in games like Snowrunner and Mudrunner, then Roadcraft is likely already on your radar. Heck, with its launch today, you're probably already hauling dirt and laying down slabs as I write this. But for the unaware, or for those curious as to whether Roadcraft is for them, you may be interested to learn about how its launch day has gone. Well, on Steam at least, player counts are looking pretty good, and are massively higher than anything its off-road driving sim predecessors achieved. However, there's work to do on the user score front.

While the likes of Industry Giant used to rule the production line game roost back in the day, more recent entries in the series have a lot more competition to face up against these days. Ambitious breakout hits like Satisfactory, simple yet satisfying experiences like Shapez 2, and obscenely addictive games like Factorio are now the go to destinations for folks that love building and resource management. Now seeing a resurgence, three years after launching in early access, Captain of Industry is the latest challenger to see a huge spike in popularity. After dropping a massive update last week, it's now setting new player count records on Steam.

Responsible for one of the most beloved videogame narratives ever, Marc Laidlaw's impact on the Half-Life series can never be understated. We'll Learn More About Silent Hill f at Anime Expo 2025

Konami and Anime Expo announced that there will be a Silent Hill f panel at the event on July 4, 2025. This will be called "Unmasking Silent Hill f," and it will happen at the event at 3:15pm PT. It is unknown if the panel will be streamed online for those unable to attend, though Anime Expo does have a Twitch channel

Three of the major developers behind Silent Hill f will attend the Anime Expo 2025 panel, so it is likely more insight into its development, story, and characters will come up. Producer Motoi Okamoto, Writer Ryukishi07, and Composer Akira Yamaoka will all take part. It will last for just under an hour.

Konami did confirm there will be a question and answer portion of that presentation. The official English social media account for the Silent Hill series is accepting questions from those who won't be able to attend firsthand. The Japanese social media account didn't put out a call for questions, but did reiterate this is an entirely new, standalone entry in the series.

Silent Hill f is currently in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it will also be playable on a Steam Deck. A first trailer is available and the website is open.

Review: Onimusha 2 Remaster Prioritizes Quality of Life Additions

We're in the midst of an Onimusha revolution. The original game got a Hell Mode difficulty via a free update. Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a new entry arriving in 2026. Now Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny 2 is back via a remaster. It's a welcome one, since it is an intriguing entry, though I feel it prioritizes quality of life adjustments to controls, combat, and gameplay over visually impressive adjustments.

While on a rampage conquering Japan, an undead Nobunaga Oda who revived himself with the power of demons decimated Yagyu Village. Jubei Yagyu, the clan leader who was away at the time, is the only survivor. As he cuts through the demons still lurking about and takes in the damage, and otherworldly voice calls to him. He then finds his unknown mother is an Oni, he can tap into those powers to absorb the souls of demons. Not only is this now a quest for revenge against Nobunaga, but a mission to find the five Oni Orbs to harness their powers and save the world as a whole from demons. The tone is is very dramatic, yet also silly. Some actor ham it up, of course Oyu ends up being used as fanservice, and it can get over-the-top. Your mileage may vary as to how much you enjoy it or if the execution isn't for you. This time around, those scenes can be skipped, if you decide you're just here for the gameplay.

For those new to Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, the best way I can describe it is feeling a bit like the older Resident Evil games, due to the camera angles, array of potential puzzles and even minigames, the more thoughtful approach to getting through areas instead of just mindlessly hacking and slashing at times, and something of a campy nature. While there will be areas with constantly spawning enemies, which might encourage button-mashing, some of the best encounters involve larger, stronger, more thoughtful altercations. And while a map might make a space look straightforward, Jubei may need more Oni powers or a specific item to advance.

What made it special at the time, and still helps set Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny apart, is the relationship system. Jubei will encounter Ekei, Kotaro, Magoichi, and Oyu. You can form bonds with them via giving gifts. In response, you might end up seeing additional story scenes with them, you might control them for some parts, and the actual plot might change a bit. It still feels novel now, and it does make the idea of replaying and befriending another person on an ensuing run fun. I also find it important for gaming history, since this came before we started seeing relationship-building as a more common feature in games and the effects of connecting with characters results in changes to the experience.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aucGp2tF6U&ab_channel=OfficialCapcomEurope

So the biggest issue I experienced with the Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remastermight be that I actually preferred the original tank controls to the updated analog joystick-based movement. This is because of the general structure of the game. There are no large, flowing maps. A single room or corridor in an area can be split into two or three viewpoints, and a location like a town or more open space will have multiple sections tied together. The problem is that pressing up to move forward in one section could suddenly be the equivalent of pressing back in the next area, sending you back to the previous room when moving between them. Or maybe a bit of forward momentum when attacking enemies will send you into another space with a different perspective, which can mess up your flow. There are also a few areas, such as the mines, where I ended up turned around for a second as the fixed perspectives in spots and similar structure got me turned around. I didn't experience this issue as much with the original game, as the tank controls ended up being a bit more deliberate. So while I appreciate the option, it doesn't feel as comfortable and I was glad the original option is there as well.

While that new control option threw me off sometimes, the other changes are much better. We get more control over Jubei's Onimusha transformation. In the past, it happened when the gauge filled, and that was that. Now, we get to choose when it triggers after the gauge is full. It's a huge boon, and I saved it for more critical fights. Also, once you up your arsenal and gain your second weapon, you can don't need to pause to swap to the other and back. It's now possible to swap more immediately. I feel like this changes the atmosphere of the game a bit. While it can feel like a game where sometimes you need to think before you strike at times, the new options do lend themselves better to working in combos and swiftly reacting.

Things like this makes it feel like the Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remaster is Capcom's attempt to make the game more accessible. The option to go between the original and modern control scheme is the obvious one. So is the greater control over weaponry and his other form. But even more obvious is the addition of certain features that make it easier or more challenging. You can go through Easy mode at the outset, if you're concerned about adjusting to the battle and ally systems. If you're familiar with the game, Hell is a new difficulty level that means it's game over if Jubei or your active character gets hit. Also, while it relies on the save point system like the original did for backing up progress, an autosave helps if you do manage to get overwhelmed or need to swiftly stop.

Quality of life adjustments aside, I do feel like the Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny 2 remaster may not hold up when compared to other remastered titles. It it isn't as visually impressive, even with the jump to HD. Character models and locations can still look dated due to designs and textures in spots. While it looks better now than it did on the PS2, don't expect the update to be as stunning as changes in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition or The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

The Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remaster is a valuable one, especially with Way of the Sword on the horizon. There are a lot of gameplay elements that help it stand out, like the ally system and how Oni abilities and adventure elements are tied to progression. The quality of life adjustments are welcome as well. However, the campy nature of the story might not be for everyone, and it isn't the prettiest remaster I've seen in the past few years. It's well worth playing if you love the series and Capcom's work, but it might not be for everyone.

The Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remaster will come to the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 23, 2025. The original version of the game is available on the PS2.

The video began by showing the characters based on Daima ones that are part of the add-on. These are Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta. Avatar costumes based on both of them, as well as characters like Glorio and Panzy, are a part of it. Parallel Quest and Skills based on the series show up too.

This isn't the only Dragon Ball Daima DLC to show up in the next few weeks. The first promised Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot add-on is coming soon too. That debuts in July 2025. A second one will conclude that story in the adventure later in 2025.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Switch 2 Creator's Voice

One of the first new The Legend of Zeida series games to come to the Switch 2 will be Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, a new entry in the Warriors spin-offs of Musou action games. To help prepare for that and share insights into its development, a new Nintendo Creator's Voice video featured Koei Tecmo Producer Ryota Matsushita and AAA Games Studio Head Yosuke Hayashi discussing the title. Both shared a bit about their background before discussing the game, and they confirmed it will both show the Imprisoning War and what life was like for Zelda when she was sent back through time during the events of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

First, Matsushita and Hayashi discussed how Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment won't just focus on the one versus 1,000 battles during the war against the original version of Ganondorf in the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom games, but also the life of Zelda in that time period and her experiences with the four Masked Sages. However, the two also emphasized that the new hardware meant it will be possible for many more enemies to appear on the field at once, increase frame rates, and add to "realism."

Here's the full Creator's Voice video discussing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment for the Switch 2 on YouTube

Metroid: Other M Samus Figma Figures Return After Over 10 Years

Good Smile Company announced it will rerelease both the Samus Aran Zero Suit and standard figma figures based on the character's Metroid: Other M opinions. The two initially launched over 10 years ago, with the standard Power Suit option debuting back in 2012 and the Zero Suit design debuting in 2016. Due to the Trump tariffs, the US site orders aren't open. Both figures are priced at ¥9,800 (~68) in the Japanese storefront. The Power Suit version will appear in January 2026 in Japan, followed by Zero Suit in February 2026.

In the case of the Power Suit, that doesn't come with any additional face parts. This is because Samus wears a helmet throughout, of course. Instead, the extra parts are designed to showcase different poses or actions. There are two beam effects to show her firing her gun. You can also make it look like she found and is shooting missiles. One part includes a thumbs up hand for her left hand. You also get a Morph Ball.

Here's how that one looks:

With the Zero Suit Samus, we get various head parts in addition to other accessories. Smiling and stern face plates are included. You can also swap the hair pieces so she can be displayed with either short hair or a long-haired ponytail. Her right hand thumbs up part is included. So are a gun and replica of Adam's helmet to hold.

These are all the photos Good Smile Company shared of that version of her.

The Metroid: Other M Samus Aran Power Suit figma will debut in January 2026 in Japan, followed by the Zero Suit figure in February 2026. There's no word on US release dates yet. Pre-orders close on July 2, 2025. Metroid: Other M appeared on the Wii worldwide.

So, we prepared the following Anime Rangers X tier list to help you choose which units to roll for and finally bring into battle with you.

All Legendary, Mythic, Secret, and Ranger Anime Rangers X units ranked from best to worst — Images via Anime Rangers X Fandom Wiki and TierMaker

The above Anime Rangers X tier list ranks all units based on how good they are overall for the Story, Boss, Portal, and other stages. We tested units by letting them fight in the currently most challenging content (Ghoul City Portal III) in the game without traits, fully upgraded, and at the default maximum level (50). Then, we ranked every unit based on the following criteria:

  • HP
  • DPS (Damage/Cooldown)
  • Range
  • Speed
  • Ability Damage
  • Upgrade costs
  • Passives

As a rule of thumb, rarer and more expensive units in Anime Rangers X are stronger, and that is why most of them are at the top of the tier list. Below, you can find a list of every Ranger, Secret, Mythic, and Legendary unit, along with their pros and cons, best traits, and the obtainment method.

RoadCraft Abandoned Facility generator

RoadCraft's campaign explores different parts of the world, redeveloping land ravaged by natural disasters, and restoring power to old facilities to help refuel various regions. Within the game's first hour, you'll discover an abandoned facility containing a generator, with your first task being to find and recover it.

There are many moving parts to this task initially. You'll need to find this generator and figure out how to bring it to the facility's main base. Here's how to find and recover the Abandoned Facility's generator in RoadCraft.

Abandoned Facility location in RoadCraft

You'll find the Abandoned Facility directly southeast of the Forward Base you visited earlier in RoadCraft's Precipice campaign mission. As you traveled from the Phosphate Plant to the Forward Base, you'll now find an additional quest circle south of you, past Orange Grove and a Pumping Station.

RoadCraft Abandoned Facility map
Screenshot by Destructoid

The easiest way to access this spot is to use the road connecting the Forward Base to the facility. It curves slightly and has muddy terrain, but it's mostly a straight shot down to where you need to go. If you get stuck, you can turn on all-wheel drive and diff-lock to make escaping easier.

Generator location in RoadCraft

Before you can fully recover the Abandoned Facility's generator, you'll need to deliver an object from within the area's half-built structures. As you drive into the facility and use your Object Scanner to track nearby items, you'll spot a box atop the building's western wing.

However, you'll also quickly notice that you can't just drive up to the item and retrieve it. Instead, we've got a mini obstacle course to tackle, introducing you to interactive environments.

Start from the wall directly west of the box, drive southeast down the dirt path until you spot a ramp. In front of this ramp is a wooden board with yellow and black tape across it, which you can drive into to access the building.

RoadCraft wooden board in Abandoned Facility
Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll notice two paths as you drive up the ramp and look to your left. One leads up a ramp to a second wooden board, while the other has an additional board. Your safest bet is to drive up the ramp, lightly tap the board without flying off the edge, then reverse back down and flip the other to create a ramp-bridge combo. You can also use your car's winch system to navigate the area or help flip your car over if you accidentally drive off a ledge.

RoadCraft two wooden boards in Abandoned Facility
Screenshot by Destructoid

Now that you've tackled this obstacle, you have direct access to the generator, letting you use your Winch to pull it behind you. As you turn to leave, you'll spot a fourth wooden board to your left that, when pushed, will lead you down another ramp to the abandoned facility's quest area.

Once you bring the generator to the abandoned facility's quest circle, you'll complete your current objective, rewarding you with 1,200 XP and 2,520 cash. However, this is only half the battle: you now have to deliver the generator back to the Phosphate Plant.

How to deliver the generator to the Phosphate Plant in RoadCraft

Delivering the generator back to the Phosphate Plant requires creating a route between the two locations. Earlier in RoadCraft's campaign, you did this with the Forward Base and the Phosphate Plant, letting you link the two for some passive income. Now, you're doing the same thing, but with some tougher terrain and over double the distance.

The key to routing paths in RoadCraft is following road lines. However, just because a car has driven a path doesn't mean it's the best course for your particular route. That said, here's the exact route I used during my playthrough:

Roadcraft generator delivery route outlined
Screenshot by Destructoid

The first step was determining whether to head west or north of the Abandoned Facility. At first, I tried west, only to realize roadblocks prevented the trucks from leaving. Fortunately, the northern path is safe, letting us cross through its gate and along the road without any trouble.

The only other spot you may have trouble with is at the Phosphate Plant itself. Although there's a path leading through a gate, it's closed, preventing you from entering unless you go in and open it later with your car's winch system. I did this to shorten the route, but you can also use the northern entrance until you open the southern gate later.

Once you connect both sections, test your route and tweak things as needed until it succeeds. The only other factors you need to look out for are 90-degree turns in your path and veering too far off the road, which can cause the trucks to pause partway through.

Overwatch 2 Stadium is a mode so unique to what the hero shooter has to offer that it almost feels like an entirely new spinoff.

OW2's Stadium takes inspiration from games like MOBAs and shooters like Counter-Strike, along with making it playable in third-person perspective, all to create something totally fresh and quite fun that feels familiar yet new.

During each best-of-seven match in Stadium, heroes can earn Stadium Cash to buy upgrades known as Powers and Items to customize and build their heroes to be completely different from standard OW2, and potentially different between each game you play in Stadium.

Here are all of the Items and Powers available in Stadium's Armory in Overwatch 2.

All Armory Items and Powers in Overwatch 2 Stadium

Image via Blizzard Entertainment

A lot of Items are available across all heroes with their buffs, but individual heroes have their own Hero Items along with specific Powers. Below, you can find all of the Items in the Armory along with how much Stadium Cash each one costs.

After that, we've listed each hero currently available in Stadium, along with their Powers (up to four total can be selected, one each at rounds one, three, five, and seven) and hero-specific Hero Items.

To start off with in season 16, Stadium features just 17 heroes to choose from, but more will be added over time with their own unique power-ups and abilities in subsequent seasons of OW2.

Shroom and Gloom screenshot

In a job where I play and cover massive big-budget titles like Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, and Marvel Rivals, I think my most anticipated game might be an indie roguelike card battler about mushrooms.

A new Steam demo for a game called Shroom and Gloom caught my attention recently, and I finally got the chance to play it. And now, I really can't wait for the full release because it scratches a variety of itches for me when it comes to relaxing and gaming.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Shroom and Gloom from Devolver Digital and Team Lazerbeam twists the roguelike structure by putting it in first-person, offering more immersion than you'd normally get. And as a card game from that perspective, it's giving big Inscryption vibes, and that's huge for me, as that's one of my favorite games in recent memory.

As you move forward through "26 handcrafted tunnels, and face off against spore-swarming enemies and biome bosses," you gather new cards, purchase different abilities, and battle a variety of weird-looking mushroom creatures in turn-based card battling fashion a la other card games like Slay the Spire.

The game's distinct art style is similar to the developer's previous titles Teenage Blob and Wrestling With Emotions: New Kid on The Block, offering even more personality on top of its existing charm, and it's a glory to explore in first-person.

"Our dream version of Shroom and Gloom features hundreds of cards, deep meta-progression and scores of unique enemies, spread across a dense network of caves and tunnels," the game's Steam description says, thanking anyone who buys in early in the team's quest of making the title "the best looking, most fun deckbuilder out there." I think it's off to a solid start of doing just that.

Shroom and Gloom's release date is currently TBA, but the demo is definitely worth playing if you're a fan of indies, deckbuilders, or unique titles in general.

All GTA V Online Treasure Hunt locations - two gang members sitting on motorbikes

There are plenty of different roles you can adopt in GTA 5 Online, and one of them involves becoming the President of a Motorcycle Club (MC).

This particular task is straightforward, and you can get it done quickly. However, the game doesn't explicitly hand you the important details. You can complete it right after finishing the tutorial, and this guide will list down all the vital steps.

How to become the President of a Motorcycle Club in GTA 5 Online

The first task, quite obviously, is to complete the tutorial, which will take a fair bit of your time. The tutorial will highlight the basics as far as gameplay concepts are concerned. Next, complete the following steps in the mentioned order.

  • Open up your phone.
  • Open the web browser.
  • Select Foreclosure by Maze Bank from the home screen of your browser.
  • You'll find a host of different filters on the top-right part of your screen. Choose Clubhouse from the list of available options.
  • This will highlight all the clubhouses that are available for purchase. You'll need cash to purchase them.
  • If you're starting the game, scroll up the map, and you'll find one on the 101 Route 68. Named Great Chaparral Clubhouse, this property is available for free. Once claimed, you can renovate the clubhouse as per your liking.

Great Chaparral Clubhouse in GTA 5 Online

Once you go back to the game, you should automatically become an MC President. If not, press the view button (as applicable for your controls).

  • Select Register as a Boss.
  • This will allow you to register yourself as either the CEO of your own company, or as the President of your own Motorcycle Club.
  • Once done, you'll be able to invite your friends to become part of the club.

That's pretty much all you have to do to become the President of your own Motorcycle Club in the game. Once you have more money, you can purchase different clubhouses, which will allow you to choose between different locations.

Luis Suarez in EA FC 25

EA FC 25 players might have received one of the funniest objectives of all time in Ultimate Team, and it almost feels too bizarre to be true.

The latest objective went live during the TOTS promo, which appears pretty normal at first. The fun begins once you start looking more into the tasks. There have been plenty of Squad Battles objectives, but this one seems to have one of the funniest sets of tasks.

EA FC 25's Squad Battles Speed Run Objective is too funny to be true

The Squad Battles Speed Run objective has seven tasks that you can complete to unlock the rewards. However, the conditions are pretty unique, to say the least. For starters, you'll have to play only in Beginner mode. That's right, only the easiest difficulty is allowed for this objective.

Next, you'll have to score an absurd number of goals to complete the objective set. Here are the conditions for all the tasks.

  • Score 10 goals in a single Squad Battles match.
  • Score 20 goals in a single Squad Battles match.
  • Score 25 goals in a single Squad Battles match.
  • Score 30 goals in a single Squad Battles match.
  • Score 35 goals in a single Squad Battles match.
  • Score 40 goals in a single Squad Battles match.
  • Score 45 goals in a single Squad Battles match.

https://twitter.com/DonkTrading/status/1924875868196724940

Scoring goals in Beginner difficulty isn't a tough ask. The defense is non-existent, and the AI won't even try to steal the ball from you. The focus is to grab the ball as quickly as you can, lob the ball to your attackers, and score. Rinse and repeat the process until you have reached the required number.

The real challenge will be to score above 40 goals in a single match, which makes the last two tasks quite difficult. You can certainly complete it, but it will be a race to the goal line (45 times at that, which is painstakingly difficult).

Sadly, the rewards are too good to miss out on, especially during the TOTS season. Hence, it's time to go back to the roots for the first time since we all started playing the game, and score as many goals as possible.
