Borderlands 3's Final DLC Campaign is Coming in September
Coming up on its first anniversary, Borderlands 3 has kept players coming back to the loot shooter with a variety of new campaign expansions that made things bigger, badder, and weirder. With its Season Pass introducing new storylines and themes, the upcoming new campaign DLC for Borderlands 3 will maybe take things even further when it releases next month by taking us into the mind of Psycho Krieg.
Developer Gearbox Software has revealed the fourth and final campaign DLC for Borderlands 3, which is called Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, will be arriving on September 10, 2020. Alongside the announcement, Gearbox released its official trailer for the campaign, giving a closer look at what to expect from the latest campaign. Specifically, this time around it seems like players will be delving deep into the mind of a Psycho on a quest to find the mythical "Vaulthalla." It's safe to say that things get very weird, very quickly.
You can check out the full reveal trailer for Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck below:
Following the reveal of the fourth campaign DLC for the game, Gearbox also announced that a new level cap increase will be arriving alongside the DLC as a free update for all players. The increase will raise the level cap to 65, bringing players up an additional five levels for both gear and player characters. Gearbox clarified that this will be the last planned level cap increase "for the foreseeable future," according to a blog post detailing the announcements.
For now, it seems like Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck will be the last planned DLC campaign for the game, though it's not clear yet whether Gearbox may do an additional Season Pass with new expansions or other content down the line. At the moment, we can probably at least expect more in-game events to take place, such as the Anniversary Celebration happening right now across all platforms.
Borderlands 3 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. For a closer look at the next campaign DLC, you can check out the new screenshots below:

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Getting World Premier Demo at Gamescom Opening Night Live
Gamescom is one of many events affected by the Coronavirus this year. The show, which usually takes place in Germany, has opted like many others to move to an online format. Although it's moving online, it shows no signs of going out with a whimper.
Opening Night Live as it's been dubbed is the first night of Gamescom and is taking place this Thursday. It's been promised, by the one and only Geoff Keighley, that the showcase will contain details from more than 20 different games. So far we've heard of a few of the games that will be appearing. They include the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War and details on Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Season 2.
Now, revealed by Keighley on Twitter, we have information on another game that will be appearing. Initially shown off during the PS5 Reveal Showcase, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will be getting a "world premiere PlayStation 5 demo".
Don't miss the world premiere @PlayStation 5 demo of Ratchet & Clank:
Rift Apart with @insomniacgames #ps5Watch @gamescom Opening Night Live, streaming Thursday at 8 pm CEST / 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT
Watch at: https://t.co/FjoDbKUBkl pic.twitter.com/jPzzWO6Tiu
— Geoff Keighley Opening Night Live (@geoffkeighley) August 25, 2020
When questioned on Twitter by somebody asking "Haven't we already seen gameplay?" Keighley replies "This is a full, longer, uncut demo!"
Rift Apart is the first new Ratchet and Clank game since 2016 when a reimagining of the original game was released for the PS4. While the new game contains much of the classic Ratchet and Clank charm, there is plenty to get excited about. Based off what we saw during the PS5 showcase, the game contains some stunning graphics, new weapons, the rift mechanic and Lombax. Lombax is a new playable character who is described by developers Insomniac as a "mysterious new female" who is "from another dimension."
Gamescom Opening Night Live is streaming this Thursday (August 26) at 8 pm CEST / 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT and can be watched at openingnightlive.com. Which game from the event are you most looking forward to seeing? Let us know in the comments below.

The Last of Us' Joel and Ellie Recreated in Stunning Ukiyo-e Style Art
Since the release of The Last of Us Part 2, DualShockers has been inundated with incredible fan art pieces ranging from a fierce Abby mural, the evolution of Ellie, and a gorgeous poster highlighting the game's characters – to name a few. You only have to click through the site to witness the amazing talent that comes from The Last of Us fandom and the lengths they go to create unique and captivating works of art. While some artworks are retweeted by the likes of Naughty Dog or Neil Druckmann, some diamonds still lay in waiting for the perfect moment to come to life, which brings me onto this striking The Last of Us print of Joel and Ellie recreated in a distinctive ukiyo-e style craftmanship.
Jed Henry, an illustrator, lifelong gamer, Japanophile, and all-around self-confessed nerd, has put together this beautiful painting of the iconic duo from The Last of Us due to his love for these characters and could think of nothing more than creating a celebration of the adventures he had with these two unforgettable people. Jed works full time on Japanese prints, and on his upcoming video game 'Edo Superstar'. Teaming up with Dave Bull, a successful traditional woodblock printmaking for over 25 years, Jed and Dave created Ukiyo-e heroes, a Kickstarter crowd-funding project where they recreate modern videogame scenes in old-style woodblock prints.
Jed states that "Modern costuming has been traded for the medieval, but the essence of each character remains, proving that you can't take the Ukiyo out of these modern pop icons." Talking about the work they both do and how it's a vital part of Japanese and gaming culture, Jed says "Not only are we making fun, meaningful art, we're also working to save the Japanese woodblock community in a very real way. Through print sales, Dave has been able to pay a workshop full of apprentices, and even employ seasoned masters in the craft! Our goal is to pump vitality back into this art form, by giving it modern appeal, while maintaining its ancient traditions. And it's working!"
Sieving through Jed and Dave's website, you'll notice pieces that depict other iconic gaming characters like The Witcher's Geralt, Jin from Ghost of Tsushima, and other non-gaming related art like The Lord of the Rings. For those who don't know, Ukiyo-e is a genre of Japanese art that became prominent from the 17th through to the 19th centuries. Artists produced woodblock prints and paintings of images that include women, kabuki actors, and sumo wrestlers. Scenes from history and folk tales were also drawn as well as flora, fauna, and erotica. The word Ukiyo-e translates simply into a "picture of the floating world" in Japanese.
Jed also partakes in Giclée prints which is originally applied to fine art prints created on a modified Iris printer in a process invented in the late 1980s and rarer to hear these days. You can catch Dave steaming on Twitch where he takes viewers through the process of woodblock printmaker which highlights the production of prints in the Ukiyoe Heroes series. You can head over to Ukiyoe Heroes YouTube channel for some mesmerizing videos to watch on your own time or catch Dave live on Twitch right here. If you happen to be in the Tokyo area and would like to visit the studio, you can visit this link to plan your journey and have a go at making your very own woodblock prints that would be the perfect souvenir for showing off to friends at home.
For more Ellie news, check out this The Last of Us Part 2 fan art poster showcasing Ellie's evolution, Ashley Johnson mimicking Joel, or this amazing mural of Abby from The Last of Us Part 2 appropriately painted beside a gym. If you happened to think you were imagining hearing director/writer Neil Druckmann and co-writer Halley Gross chatting over the radio as two WLF members towards the end of the game with Abby, you weren't wrong. Apparently Druckmann and Gross lent their voices for this particular scene and for someone who thought they knew all the in's and out's of Part 2, I completely missed this!
The Last of Us Part 2 is available now exclusively on PS4 (and soon to be PS5). The game was one of DualShockers' favorites of 2020; make sure to check out the official DualShockers (generally spoiler-free) review. Also, feel free to grab the game physically on Amazon to help support the site.

Newly Approved Patent Suggests PlayStation Users Could Be Detected by How They Hold Their Controller
PlayStation's next-generation console has a big focus on introducing a bunch of new features to its audience. There's the fancy webcam that can knock out your background, there's the 3D audio headset, and then there is the DualSense controller with features that have seen PlayStation focusing on immersion. But according to a recently approved patent, new technology could see PlayStation Accounts being recognized through how a user holds the controller.
As reported by Segment Next, (via VGC), the newly approved patent sees Sony Interactive Entertainment indicating a system that seems to use sensors to calculate the systems such as the gyroscope, accelerometer, and the magnetometer to understand the player's grip on the controller and identify the associated PlayStation account. The patent reads, "The gyroscope sensor detects an angular velocity of the controller; the accelerometer sensor detects an acceleration of the controller; and the magnetometer detects magnetic flux density which changes in response to motion of the controller."
The patent suggests that players will be able to sign into their accounts by simply holding the controller, removing the need to manually sign in. Additionally, the data transmitted by the controller can indicate if a second player is using the controller based on the way they hold the controller. This will also ensure that the correct user is receiving their scores and Trophies when two or more players are sharing a controller.
While the patent has been approved this month, it was originally filed back in February 2020. It also seems to reference the controller figure (100) and Move Controller for PSVR (200) which could indicate that the technology may work for DualShock 4, DualSense, and PSVR through the use of telemetry data from the device sensors. It could also point towards the technology eventually being present on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
The idea of being able to simply sign in just by holding your controller seems like a nice personalized touch. Of course, I doubt the capability to sign-in manually will be removed entirely, you know, just in case you decide to hold your controller differently one day.
What are your thoughts on this approved patent? Does the technology sound like something that'll make your access to games a quicker experience or do you have concerns?

Persona 5 Scramble DLC Sequel Scenario Possibly Teased By Morgana The Tanuki
Atlus, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force might be teasing a DLC sequel scenario for Persona 5 Scramble. On the official Persona series Twitter, August 25, Morgana shared two tweets that may be hinting at such:
…γγ³γγγγΌγ
— γ’γ«γ¬γ_γγ«γ½γεΊε ± (@p_kouhou) August 25, 2020
Here's a translation of the tweets:
Morgana: "Hey, are you ready? I'm sure she'll be happy~. Reminds me of when we first met in the Jail. Huh? A Tanuki…? I'm a cat! … Wait I'm not a cat!!"
The tweets references one of the first scenes with Sophia in Persona 5 Scramble. When she first meets Joker, Ryuji and Morgana in the Jail (the new other world), she initially believes Morgana is a Tanuki.
Meaning Morgana in these tweets is having a discussion with Joker about Sophia, after the game's events. So this could possibly be teasing a DLC scenario sequel.
Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers released in Japan on PS4, Switch, on February 20. The game was announced in the west through Koei Tecmo's latest financials. However, a public and majestic announcement with a trailer and everything hasn't happened yet.
As someone who played Persona 5 Scramble in Japanese, I can say it's definitely a great game and a great sequel to the original game. If you played the original Persona 5, It's definitely a must-grab. It's also important to note Persona 5 Scramble isn't a Musou game. It uses dungeons rather than maps where you need to defeat generals and take control of strategical spots. The Phantom Thieves themes, the sneakiness and suaveness of the original, are perfectly translated to an Action system too. The weakness-based battle system as well. Besides how the combo pattern schemes follows Musou game, it's pretty different than one overall.
You can read many more details on Persona 5 Scramble with our past coverage. We'll be sure to tell you if DLC actually does get announced in the next few weeks.

God of War Teams Up With SuperGroupies in a Brand New Line of Swag
If you fancy wearing some God of War gear, Japanese fashion brand SuperGroupies may have what you're looking for. In their first-ever collaboration with the smash hit action-adventure game, God of War starring Kratos and his son Atreus, the store is offering some nice swag that would make any fan look the part. The announcement includes three collector's quality accessories being released which are a God of War watch, wallet, and bag inspired by the 2018 reboot.
Up first is the God of War watch that's inspired by Kratos' Guardian Shield. You'll notice that the hour markers use in-game runes, which is a pretty fun way to check the time and remember their meanings from the game. The hour and minute hands are designed in homage to Faye's keepsake to Kratos, the Leviathan Axe, and one of Atreus' arrows. The watch is the most expensive item of the collector's list coming in at ¥19 800 before tax ($186).
Next up is a backpack with a faux fur on the flap, inspired by Atreus' wolf hide clothing that can also be removed if needs be. It also boasts a motif of the equipment worn by Boi. The striking red color of the drawstrings is married into the design to express the vivid hue of Kratos' tattoos as well as The Guardian Shield pops up on one of the backpack's pockets for something a little special. This one is slightly cheaper than the watch and it will cost you ¥16,800 before tax ($159).
Lastly, to keep all that money you don't have in, here's a God of War wallet. Designed in a foldable format, the front of the wallet mimics Kratos' Guardian Shield and on the back, there is an embroidered motif of the war ax "Leviathan" which is a keepsake of his wife, Faye. Opening up the bifold wallet, the interior color scheme is modeled after Atreus' clothing. Thankfully, this item is the least expensive setting you at a cost of ¥11,800 before tax which is still a lot at around $110.
To pre-order any of these products, you can do so from now until September 14 at 12:00 pm, 2020 (Japan Standard Time). The backpack and wallet will be available in December 2020, while the watch will launch a little later in January 2021. To get your orders in or for more information, head on over to the SuperGroupies website where you'll find a list of these items.
God of War is available now exclusively on PS4. If you have yet to experience the game for yourself, you can pick up the game right now over on Amazon.

Upgraded Nintendo Switch, Major Games Planned For 2021 According to Bloomberg
Bloomberg Tech Reporter Takashi Mochizuki reported Nintendo is planning the release of an upgraded Nintendo Switch in 2021. The release of this upgraded Nintendo Switch model would either be synchronized or followed by new major game releases.
The sources told Bloomberg that the technical specifications of this new Switch model aren't finalized yet. Moreover, those new major games will include both releases for normal people who like short game sessions and game otaku. These games will be both from the Hanafuda cards maker itself and outside studios.
Bloomberg also mentioned the sources claimed this focus on 2021 is why Nintendo has been relatively quieter in 2020, and that manufacturing partners aren't expected to start assembling the upgraded Switch model until 2021. As they're still busy with making the current Nintendo Switch (Lite) models.
On Twitter, Takashi Mochizuki stressed out his story says Nintendo has "looked into including more computing power and 4K high-definition graphics". Not that this new Switch model will definitely include such specs.
and it's "looked into." https://t.co/vcGLgtn8Bc
— Takashi Mochizuki (@6d6f636869) August 25, 2020
Economic Daily News, based on Taiwan, also reported a new Nintendo Switch model is on the way.
Besides its mainstream blockbusters like Doubutsu no Mori, the Nintendo Switch is also the new refuge of many ADV, Galge, Otome Games and other niche genres who used to be on PlayStation Vita. Personally speaking, the current Nintendo Switch is perfectly fine for me who enjoys these Japanese games no one cares about (though I never have the time to play them). With that said, I'm definitely curious as to what this new Nintendo Switch model will look like. And I hope these major games in 2021 will include releases such as the Zelda Breath of The Wild sequel.
In Holiday 2020, Sony and Microsoft plans to launch their next gen consoles. Check our coverage of PS5 and our news for Xbox Series X.

Check Out 9 Minutes of Project Cars 3 Gameplay on Ultra Settings
Back in June, Slightly Mad Studios officially revealed Project Cars 3, a racing title that was said a few years ago to be more of a spiritual successor to the studios Need for Speed: Shift. The game is looking to be launching August 28, and we've recently learned that it will not have PC ray tracing and cross-play support. A new video has surfaced online from YouTuber Shirrako, showing 9 minutes of gameplay for the title.
The footage that you can find below (Thanks, DSOGaming) shows Shirrako racing a McLaren P1 GTR around the Mount Panorama Bathurst track. The graphics are said to be set to ultra with a resolution of 2160p at 60fps and with all HUD elements switched off. Shirrako also details they're using a 2080 TI graphics card and a Logitech G29 steering wheel.
The quality of the vehicles certainly looks great, but the environment looks to be a bit lacking. Additionally, the steering appears to be quite jerky despite using a wheel. Shirrako also looks to be taking the arcade-focused approach to driving around the track, coming in fast, and drifting through the corners. The camera looks to be automatically locking onto corners as they approach them, and the sense of speed seems to be intact.
Project Cars 3 will find players racing to earn credits and XP, racing hundreds of upgradable and customizable cars. A 24-hour cycle, dynamic all-seasons, and all-weather racing. The game features intense crash effects and car contact, and fully scalable assists to suit all skill levels. Additionally, for those on PC, the game should have enhanced AI and support 12K textures.
Project Cars 3 is slated to launch August 28 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Fall Guys x NieR: Automata Collaboration May Be In The Pipeline
It seems we can't go a day without getting some news about Fall Guys' in-game cosmetics. The Six Foot tall beans (yes really!!) seem to have a bigger wardrobe than mine and they've only been around for about 3 weeks. The game has had countless amazing designs made by the Fall Guys community and some awesome crossovers to go alongside those.
So far we've had crossovers with Valve's Half-Life series, Team Fortress 2 and most recently Portal, alongside skins from other Devolver Digital published titles that include Enter the Gungeon and Hotline Miami. Now, in an interesting turn of fate, we may be getting a collaboration with Square Enix' RPG series NieR: Automata.
Speaking on Twitter, Mediatonic's Ed Fear stated that NieR Director Yoko Taro and Saito-P wanted to do a crossover between the two games. The legendary director said, "I think the machine lifeform costume would be really cute. Or an Emil head!" This led to mass excitement in the Fall Guys camp with the official Twitter account reaching out to Yoko Taro.
NieR: Automata skins?!? @yokotaro https://t.co/Q4icDFIxmt
— Fall Guys (@FallGuysGame) August 24, 2020
This didn't go unnoticed by Taro who simply replied to Ed Fear's tweet saying "Please."
Please. https://t.co/yo3DAwpEiL
— yokotaro (@yokotaro) August 24, 2020
This is just another great example of the joy that Fall Guys is bringing to the world and the power that the Fall Guys name currently has.
While NieR: Automata will seemingly be getting a cosmetic item in the game for free, other brands are having to bid top dollar for the privilege. The Fall Guys Twitter account is currently a massive charity bidding war in which the winner will be able to design a skin for the game. This has seen YouTubers, Twitch Streamers, eSports Companies and Bidet companies all throw extortionate amounts of money around in order to try and be featured in one of this year's biggest titles. The highest bid currently sits at over $420,000 for SpecialEffect.
Fall Guys is out now for PC and PS4 and is currently free on PS Plus until the end of this month.

PS5 and Xbox Series X Best Buy Pre-Order Pages Are Hinting at Hefty Price
The PS5 from Sony and Xbox Series X from Microsoft are expected to usher in the next generation of gaming this upcoming Holiday season. When they launch, both consoles are expected to bring high-end visual fidelity, lightning fast load times, and ray tracing technology found previously in only high end gaming PCs. We know basically everything there is to know about the PS5 and Series X from a hardware perspective. Without a release date in place, Sony's PS5 has already managed to debut its first official TV spot. However, the gaming world is still waiting for the most important reveal for both consoles: the price.
As we get closer to the holiday launch window, we are seeing an uptick of placeholder prices from retailers around the world. But this latest finance offer from Best Buy seems to frame up an anticipated launch price for the PS5 and Series X: and it's pegging it right around $499 USD. Both of the console's store pages on Best Buy's website feature a financing option section at the bottom that suggests the systems could hit the $499 price point:
To be fair here, we're still looking at this and assuming that like all of the others: it's a placeholder. Neither PlayStation or Xbox have hinted at a price point just yet, as both companies are waiting on the other to show their cards before announcing an official price. Like the dozen or so placeholder prices that we've seen up until this point for both the PS5 and Series X, this one should too be taken with a grain of salt. It should also be pointed out that the financing offer itself is a pretty standard play for Best Buy, who has historically offered similar 6, 12, 18, and 24-month financing options for all of the products it sells.
So what makes Best Buy's placeholder pricing and financing offer a bit different here for the PS5 and Xbox Series X? Well for starters, the financing offers listed on similar product pages are tailored specifically by item price points. As an example, Nintendo's Switch ($299), Sony's PS4 ($299), and Microsoft's Xbox One X ($399) are specifically only eligible for a 12-month interest-free payment programs from the retailer, as they all fall at or below the $400 purchase tier.
When browsing product pages for items that retail over $499 at Best Buy, shoppers are met with an 18-month finance offer (as well as a 12-month option in some cases). What about the PS5 and Series X pre-order page? Currently it only shows the $499 option with no mention of a 12-month program (meant for purchases below $400). Which, if accurate, could mean that the beefier PS5–which features a version with a physical drive–could float around that dreaded $600 price making waves on Twitter at the moment.
Again, like other retailers, Best Buy could be simply placing its bet with a placeholder price of $499. It also doesn't hurt them to drive awareness around the finance offer they will have in place in the event there's some sticker shock when the PS5 and Xbox Series X prices are finally revealed. Hopefully we won't have to wait much longer to find out just how broke we'll all be this holiday when both consoles are expected to land on store shelves.
