Want to know the meaning of all the new Traits added to the game? This Rogue Legacy 2 Trait Guide lists every possible trait we have discovered on our adventures through the game, including the effect of each trait. Every character that is generated in Rogue Legacy 2 has a potential to be created with zero, one, or two Traits, so they are a very important part of the game. Let's get into the Trait system.
What Are Traits
Traits are character traits assigned to each of the characters created in the game. There is a huge variety of different traits, each offering different potential challenges and bonuses to your run in Rogue Legacy 2. Traits now also give a boost to gold, which is both good and bad. Typically, the bigger boosts to gold (as high as 150%) are placed on Traits that make a run incredibly difficult. These can do everything from limiting your vision, to killing you in a single blow.
Whether or not you choose the character with those dangerously rewarding Traits or not is down to you, but it's an interesting risk vs. reward system.
How To Unlock More Traits
Currently Rogue Legacy 2 is in its earliest stage of Early Access. This means there's a lot more mechanics to come. At the moment, Traits only appear to be unlocked during the character selection stage. When you start a fresh run you can choose from three new characters. Sir Kenny here is a Knight that has the Pacifist Trait. To learn the effects of the Trait you must select a character with a ???? Trait.
Then, once you start the game, you can check the Trait on the pause menu. The Trait also lists the additional bonus gold, +90% in the case of the Pacifist.

Rogue Legacy 2 Castle Upgrades Guide
Upgrading your castle unlocks a lot of important stuff. This Rogue Legacy 2 Castle Upgrades Guide breaks down everything you need to know about upgrading your castle, including what upgrades to get first and how to unlock all the classes and facilities available at the docks.
The castle upgrade system in Rogue Legacy 2 is one of the games many rogue-like features. Each time you die and return to the castle, you keep all of the gold coins you have earned. You can then spend these gold coins on either castle upgrades, or upgrades from some of your friends down at the docks.
What Castle Upgrades To Unlock First?
There's no right or wrong order for the most part, however, if you want the maximum bang for your buck, it's a good idea to focus on these two rows and then the final one at the top. On the first row highlight above you will unlock the Foundation (Blacksmith), Archery Range, and Enchantress' Quarters (Enchantress). The Archery Range unlocks the Ranger as a possible class for a character next time you select one. The Blacksmith allows you to discover and craft blueprints that increase your stats in future runs. Finally, the Enchantress, allows you to spend money on Rune upgrades.
- Archery Range
- Foundation (Blacksmith)
- Enchantress' Quarters (Enchantress)
- Butchers Shoppe (Barbarian)
- Academy (Mage)
- Offshore Bank Account
On the next row up you can unlock the Barbarian and Mage classes before finally reaching the vault at the top. The vault takes 10% of the money you pay to re-enter the castle and stores it for use when you return.
Castle Upgrade Tips
Each time you upgrade any section of the castle, you will incur fees on future upgrades. This is marked by the gold icon in the lower left corner. This tells you how much more expensive each upgrade has become, increasing with each new upgrade you unlock. Once you have unlocked all of the classes, it's a good idea to focus on improving your weaknesses for each run.
If you're anything like me, you often die by the third room, you will want to up your defensive abilities. Invest into the Mess Hall to increase your health. The Foundry lets you start with armor that absorbs a certain amount of damage before it's destroyed. If you have no problems with getting through the earlier stages, dump your upgrades into the Arsenal and Study Hall to increase both your physical and magical damage. Ignoring one if you prefer to only play the melee classes or mage.

Rogue Legacy 2 Blueprints Guide
Making blueprints has a huge impact on your successful runs. This Rogue Legacy 2 Blueprints Guide breaks down everything you need to know about blueprints including where to find them, how to make them, and how useful the final item is.
Rogue Legacy 2 features many staple rogue-like mechanics. As you fail, run after run, you grow stronger through a combination of different features and mechanics. One such feature are the Blueprints. While expensive, these valuable upgrades can go a very long way to making your next run, just that little easier.
What Are Blueprints & How To Use Them
Blueprints are special items that you can discover on your journey through Rogue Legacy 2. While they don't do anything themselves, once found you can return to the Blacksmith and he can then craft these blueprints into special items. Blueprints are divided into 5 categories. Weapons increase your Strength, Helms increase you Vitality, Chest increases your Armor, Cape increases your Magic Damage and Bands increase a variety of stats.
You have to buy each item before you can equip it and once bought, each equipped item adds to your weight. It's a good idea to choose the items that best match your play style. For example, I rarely use Magic, so I often avoid equipping a cape and instead go for other items.
Where To Find Blueprints
Blueprints can only be found when you are exploring the castle and other levels further ahead. Currently, none of the castle upgrades offer any additional blueprints. When you are exploring the different rooms in the different biomes, you'll want to keep your eye out for silver chests, just like this one.
They are not usually associated with puzzle rooms so it's simply a matter of finding a silver chest and reaching it without dying. Once you open the chest, you will unlock a new Blueprint. So far, we have not encountered any duplicate blueprints. Not all Silver Chests are always blueprints, they are often gold.
List Of Blueprints
We're unsure if the current list of Blueprints is the full amount in the game. It's still Early Access so there's a good chance more will be added soon.
Blueprint Name | Type |
---|---|
Leather Weapon | Weapon |
Scholar Weapon | Weapon |
Leather Helm | Helm |
Scholar Helm | Helm |
Leather Chest | Chest |
Scholar Chest | Chest |
Leather Cape | Cape |

Leather Band | Band |

How To Unlock All Classes In Rogue Legacy 2
The game features multiple classes you can unlock. This guide on How To Unlock All Classes In Rogue Legacy 2 will tell you everything you need to know for each classes strengths and weaknesses, as well as how each class is unlocking during play.
List Of All Classes
Rogue Legacy 2 is currently in very early Early Access. As such there's limited content available in the game at the moment. We're not sure if this is the final list of classes, but it's probably safe to expect more as the game continues through the Early Access period. Below is a list of all the classes currently in the game:- Ranger (Bow & Arrow)
- Barbarian (Labrys)d
- Mage (Wand & Magic)
- Knight (Great Sword)
How To Unlock All Classes
You begin the game with access to the basic Knight class. The other three classes, Mage, Barbarian, and Ranger, all need to be unlocked. Thankfully, it's quite a quick process and can be done in just a few runs – depending on how much gold you obtain on each run. You can see on the image above the path you must take. After you unlock Universal Health Star, you should be able to travel to the next part of the tree and get the Ranger before moving further for the Barbarian and Mage.
Differences In The Classes
Each class has strengths and weaknesses that you will need to master if you hope to have the best luck of getting through your next Rogue Legacy 2 run. Once you have unlocked all of the classes, you have a 1/3 chance of each class appearing at the beginning of your next run. Here's a breakdown of each characters different strengths and weaknesses:Knight
The Knight has the second highest starting health and has the advantage of being able to move through all attacks.
Ranger
Low starting health and cannot move while shooting but not a terrible choice for new players as the ranged attack adds a certain level of safety when approaching new enemies for the first time.
Barbarian
Highest health of all the classes available. A strong aerial attack that hits multiple times and a very strong standing attack. Only the standing attack restores mana so it's not a class with heavy mana access, depending on your style of play.
Mage
The Mage has the lowest starting health of all the classes in the game. However, its basis attacks have a short range and generate 300% more mana than any other class. This makes them excel at magical combat, but it's important to make sure they spells they have are worth using.
That's everything you need to know for all the classes in Rogue Legacy 2.

Rogue Legacy 2 You Hear A Thousand Whispers Guide
Found the interaction items that say "You hear a thousand whisper but can't make out a voice". This Rogue Legacy 2 You Hear A Thousand Voices guide explains these special interaction points including how to solve them so you can continue through your journey.
Throughout your adventure in the first area of Rogue Legacy 2, you will encounter objects that you can interact with. Some of these objectives bring up a puzzling phrase. You cannot solve these at first but eventually, you will find the item required for you to be able to calm these Nightmares.
You Hear A Thousand Whispers
You must find this room after you unlock the Inner Demons Insight. It's easy enough to unlock, read the books you encounter on your journey to unlock new Insights. Once it has been unlocked, you need to find Aesop's Challenge. The room is identical everytime. There is a teleport device at the bottom with several lanterns above you. You must jump off each lantern to reach the top. Once you reach the top you will find this large statue, then you have a challenge to complete.
The challenge can be very tricky. It's possible with few skills however, I highly recommend you invest heavily into certain areas. You will need a lot of health so avoid using the Mage. Try and increase your health in Castle Upgrades. If you have the patience to wait, the Vault Rune will make this a thousand times easier. Runes are unlocked randomly through the Fairy Chests in the levels.
Once you have completed the challenge you are rewarded with Aesop's Tome. An item that allows you to read Memory Fragments and calm Nightmares. The memory fragments are the items you have seen with the "You hear a thousand whisper but can't make out a voice" message.
That should be everything you need to know to solve these puzzling memories.

Rogue Legacy 2 Heirlooms Guide
Where to find them? What do they do? This Rogue Legacy 2 Heirlooms Guide will answer all of your Heirloom related questions as we break down how to find them, what they do, and whether or not the difficult challenges ahead are worth the effort.
Rogue Legacy 2 features many rogue-like mechanics. As you progress each run, although you die and start again, you grow in power in a variety of ways – such as upgrading your castle. These upgrades make future runs more exciting, more rewarding, and hopefully, more successful.
What Are Heirlooms & Where To Find Them
Heirlooms are part of the rogue-like features of Rogue Legacy 2 that allows you to increase in power in future runs. They are powerful items that you carry with you. They are not lost upon death. Once they are unlocked you gain the abilities of that Heirloom on every future character and every future run. Some of the more challenging puzzles and areas in the game require these abilities to successfully complete them, so they are very worth picking up.
Heirlooms cannot be found in chests or any other random means like Blueprints and other items. Heirloom items are rewards for completing very specific challenges that you can unlock through discovering different items in the first area of the game.
How To Unlock Heirlooms?
Heirlooms are unlocked by discovering these special statues and then completing the task they set you. However, before the task is available you must first unlock the Insight. These are basically side quests within the game that are unlocked by interacting with special books you find on your journey. Once you have the Insight and discover the statue for that particular Heirloom, you can proceed to complete the challenge. For more information on unlocking Heirlooms, check out our Rogue Legacy 2 Insights Guide.

How To Unlock Dash In Rogue Legacy 2
There is an option to dash in the controls but it's not available straight away. This guide on How To Unlock Dash In Rogue Legacy 2 explains how to unlock the unique action that's tied to a very valuable heirloom, as well as the basic information on how you use the Dash skill itself.
There are several Heirlooms in Rogue Legacy 2. These are unique and very powerful items that, once unlocked, remain with your character forever. These grant new abilities, giving access to previously unavailable areas and making future runs that little bit easier. To unlock Dash, you need The Power of Momentum.
How To Dash In Rogue Legacy 2
Assuming you are using a controller, you can use the Dash action with L2/LT and R2/RT, the dash is always in the direction you are facing. Dash can only be used once per jump action. So you can dash, leap off a lantern and land, but you could not dash again until you have landed. The challenge to unlock the dash action is a great tutorial for how to use Dash, albeit a challenging one. If you are using keyboard, you're crazy, and Dash is Q and E.
How To Unlock Dash In Rogue Legacy 2
Rogue Legacy 2 is a rogue-like game that presents players with randomized levels each time they attempt a run. This makes it impossible for us to tell you exactly where to find the mission to unlock Dash. It is a Heirloom mission, you've probably come across at least one before. A large statue holding an Heirloom tasks you with completing a challenge. The room for The Power of Momentum is exactly as shown above. The location will be different but the room is the same.
Once you have found the room, agree to complete the challenge. Once the challenge is complete, you will be able to dash on all future characters in Rogue Legacy 2.

How To Open The Throne Room Doors In Rogue Legacy 2
The Throne Room Doors are currently sealed, so what's next? This guide on How To Open The Throne Room Doors In Rogue Legacy 2 will tell you exactly how to open the doors so you can progress into the boss room. The method is actually pretty obvious but it's difficult enough to consider there may be an alternative.
I'm unsure how early you are able to open the Throne Room doors. You can discover them on your first few runs. However, it is also tied to an Insight. In order to get the Insight, you must first complete another Insight and then reach the Throne Doors again. If you've yet to learn the ability to read the nearby memory, check out our Insights Guide.
How To Open The Throne Room Doors In Rogue Legacy 2
If you have the Insight and read the nearby memory, it tells you how to solve the puzzle. Both of the torches must be lit and stay lit together. This is done by jumping onto the torch and then doing a downward strike. This sounds simple enough but the timing makes it very difficult, at least I struggled very much.
You will definitely need to unlock Dash first. The additional jump from one of the runes will help as well. This can be very frustrating but once I had Dash, I was able to do it in a few minutes.
Once you have opened the Throne Room Doors you can enter. Once you are inside you are immediately placed into a boss battle. It can be a very difficult fight depending on how much you have upgraded your castle, your equipment and your other stats. I went in the first time with under 10% HP and was dispatched very quickly. Hopefully you have some better luck. If you're low on health, maybe try and find some Meat or heal off some enemies before attempting to go inside and face the boss.

Insights are similar to quests but how do you solve the riddles? This Rogue Legacy 2 Insights Guide is an everything you need explanation of all things Insights related including where to find them, how they are unlocked, and how you solve the challenges the offer.
Due to the random generation of each level, we cannot give you exact locations but there should be enough information for you to know what to look for. Rogue Legacy 2 has currently only been in Early Access for an incredibly short period of time. As such, the information in this post is likely to change and I'm sure more Insights will be added. However, we've got all of the Insights we've discovered in the game so far listed in detail below.
What Are Insights & Where To Find Them?
Insights are special challenges given to the player. Very little information is provided with most of them not making much sense until you actually find it. They are very common during the early hours of game play. They are typically found when interacting with parts of the environment, things like books and other items that you can interact with. Once you have an Insight, it is permanent across all characters and all runs.
Once an Insight has been discovered, there is a chance of discovering the challenges location on all your future runs. They are not guaranteed, some are way more common than others. The challenges vary in difficulty, with some seemingly impossible depending on the character class you have chosen.
How To Complete Insights
Each Insight is unique in the challenge it provides but the method behind completing each Insight is the same. You have to discover the Challenges location during on of your runs and complete the challenge fully, without dying. Some of these challenges are easy to complete on the first run, others provide a much higher level of difficulty and will likely take several attempts before you can complete them.
Inner Demons Insight
This one challenges you with completing Aesop's Challenge in the Citadel of Agartha. The task is to prove your worth to Aesop and gain the Power of Empathy. This is probably the most common Insight to find. The room is always the same. It's a high room with lots of lanterns, you must jump and bounce off each lantern to reach the next, it also has one of the teleportation pads inside the room. The final jump may be tricky but I assure you, it can me made without any additional powers or abilities. A brand new character without any upgrades can make the jump.
Once you're inside there's a series of difficult challenges. I really struggled with this one. There is a video guide below. Hopefully you're better than me and don't struggle so much.
Once you complete the challenge you unlock Aesop's Tome so you can interact with Memory Fragments to Calm Nightmares, the interaction items that read "You hear a thousand whisper but can't make out a voice".
The Return Insight
We're still working on this one.Fleet Of Foot Insight
You must complete Ananke's Challenge, this one rewards you with Ananke's Shawl. It unlocks a special ability, dash. This is another random room that you just have to hope to find on one of your runs. It's got a teleportation pad inside it and then a small drop down to the statue. No puzzles or any enemies, so it's easy to reach once you find it.
Lighting The Way Insight
This Insight can only be unlocked after you complete the Inner Demons Insight. You need Aesop's Tome then find the Throne room, which appears to be in every level. When you find the Throne Room, check to the right of the door and you will see a memory you can interact with.
That's everything you need to know about Rogue Legacy 2's Insights.

- Get to Bell Tower crafting station in Fallgrim
- Gather 3000 Tar
- Go to the top of the tower and buy the repair tools from the Merchant
- Repair the Ballistazooka at the crafting table
How To Get The Ballistazooka In Mortal Shell
In order to get the Ballistazooka in Mortal Shell, you must first get the Repair Tools. To get the Repair Tools, you will first have to get 3000 Tar. you can get this from items and by farming enemies. It will take awhile, but it is worth it in the long run. When you have the 3k Tar, head to the bell tower with the merchant, prisoner, and sister.
Go up the stairs to the top and speak with the merchant. He will sell the repair tools to you for 3k Tar. Before you leave, pet the cat and then head down to the are with the weapons.
At the forge near all the weapons, you can use your repair tools to get the Ballistazooka. It fires the giant bolts that you have been picking up and takes forever to reload. I like to use it on the bigger enemies that don't die as quickly to bring them down. If you time it right, you can hit enemies as they jump at your mid air and send them flying across the area.
It isn't always a one shot kill, but it always powerful. I didn't get to test it on a boss so I am not sure how much damage it will do to one of those. If anyone tries it out and it works well, leave us a comment and let us know.
