Valentine's Day is right around the corner. That means pretty much every game out there that can is running its own event. Gearbox is getting into the swing of things with Borderlands 3 Broken Hearts Day. It kicks off on February 11 and runs for about a week until February 25. Anyway, the event sees Maurice sending you out to complete challenges to earn new rewards. What exactly are those rewards? Read on to find out.

Fortunately, completing the event seems relatively easy. Maurice isn't asking you to go out of your way to finish Borderlands 3 Broken Hearts Day. Instead, you can do everything while you take care of all your normal Vault Hunter duties. All you'll need to do is shoot down various hearts that have appeared around the galaxy. Each heart has its own properties, so expect to constantly be kept on your toes while breaking them. And, if you can take out enough, you'll get some pretty sweet gear. Here's the full list of what you'll acquire.

  • 10 Hearts – "ECHOcardiogram" ECHO Skin
  • 25 Hearts – "Cosmic Romance" Weapon Trinket

That's quite the selection of gear you can pick up. The best part is that it will only take time to get them. Of course, if you took part in last year's event, these are mostly the same rewards. Sure, some of the cosmetics have been recolored, but it's still mostly the same. You will be able to upgrade your weapons to the current level cap of 65, which is certainly a plus.

Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

It's no secret that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is wildly popular. It's a game full of events corresponding with real-world dates so it acted as a stand-in for a lot of canceled holidays in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. As COVID-19 continues to stand in the way of in-person get-togethers, Animal Crossing comes to the rescue, this time helping us celebrate the Lunar New Year. The first thing you'll notice when you start up the game on February 12 is Isabelle's special announcement. She lets everyone know that today is a special holiday and wishes the entire town "good fortune and happiness" before you begin your day.

Walking around town and talking to your villagers, you'll get some special dialogue revolving around the new year. As each villager has a different personality, try talking to everyone to see what they think about the holiday. Responses will vary from excitement to indifference to confusion, so make sure you check in to see what's up.

There are a handful of "Chinese New Year" and "Korean New Year" gifts to order from the Nook Shopping app, but other than that, there isn't much else. There aren't any exclusive items or activities that go on other than what's stated above.

Despite the lack of any events of substance, the Animal Crossing Lunar New Year is still nice to have something new to break up the week and talk to your villagers about.

Lady Dimitrescu Inspirations – Who are Hasshaku and Elizabeth Bathory?

You don't need me to introduce you to Lady Dimitrescu. We've been awash with Capcom's "Tall Lady" for weeks now but even so, people's thirst has still not been well and truly quenched. As we know, Ms. Dimitrescu is a very tall woman indeed, standing at a whopping 9'6" as her long white fitted Edwardian gown falls to the floor. If you have ever wondered where the inspiration to create such a magnificent vampire-like lady came from, luckily for you the developers have spoken about how they brought her to life.

In an interview with IGN, Resident Evil Village art director Tomonori Takano talks about how the idea was to initially create a "bewitching vampire" whose depiction wouldn't be "constrained by how vampires have been portrayed in various forms of popular entertainment," Takano also stated that visually, they got inspiration from prolific murderer Elizabeth Báthory from the 16th-century, the terrifying Japanese urban legend Hashaku-sama, and also Morticia Addams from The Addams Family.

Who are Hasshaku and Elizabeth Bathory?

Allow me to give you a little context around these three women: Notorious Hungarian countess, Elizabeth Báthory, tortured and murdered hundreds of young women in the 16th and 17th centuries, and due to her powerful status, she was able to get away with it for many years. Hasshaku-sama, a Japanese urban legend and internet ghost story, is delightfully described as a monster with a height of eight feet that takes on the female appearance to attack and kill young men. Of course, everyone knows who Morticia Addams so I'll stop there. You can certainly see when all of those women are put together, how it became the product that is Lady Dimitrescu.

Takano also continued by saying that "The very first piece of concept art I drew was the scene in the trailer where Lady Dimitrescu ducks down to walk through the doorway. From that moment, I knew I had to do that scene." Takano also discussed how they wanted to inject "elements of the Great Depression-era into the overall design."

Of course, Takano also had to at least touch upon the craze Lady Dimitrescu caused across the entire internet "I don't think anyone [on the team] could have predicted how wonderfully fans have reacted to Lady Dimitrescu," continuing. "Personally, I was particularly struck by comments like, 'I want to be chased by her.'"

The art director leaves us with a teaser to say that the trailer shown so far of Resident Evil Village is only the tip of the iceberg and stated that "We have prepared many other elements that created a much bigger experience than Resident Evil 7 Biohazard."

Resident Evil Village will release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 7, 2021.

Clash of Clans is popular enough among mobile gamers that it doesn't need any initial introductions. The game has been one of the most played multiplayer titles on mobile phones since its launch. Similar to most of the other online titles, Clash of Clans also celebrates the Lunar New Year 2021 with new content as well. One of the new in-game challenges that you've probably had difficulties completing so far is the Hog Mountain challenge, a raid that needs to be done successfully with three stars. Here we will go over this challenge and learn you how to three star Hog Mountain challenge, thanks to Judo Sloth:

Step 1 – Lower the Clan Castle Troops

First things first, you need to bring the Clan Castle troops onto the scene by planning a slight attack on the South-Western Firecrackers by a Goblin, which will set off the Spring trap. Now, you should spawn one Hog Rider and five Goblins in the same place and this should be done fast enough. Now, you should spot the dragons on the center of the map, but if you don't, restart the challenge and do repeat this step.

Step 2 – Eliminate the Golden Dragon

Spawn your Queen, Warden, and Healers on the north (mildly towards left) of the map and wait until the Golden dragon reaches your troops. Now, freeze the dragon and let Queen and Warden damage it. Overall, you're going to need either one Rage and three Freezes or two Rage and four Freezes to eliminate the Golden dragon. Once the dragon is gone, wait for the Queen to destroy the Cannons, and then spawn all your Loons and use Rage and Invisibility spells in the meantime.

Step 3 – Deploy Royal Champion

Wait for the troops to destroy some enemy structures. The timing is important here, so make sure to deploy all your Hog Riders and the Royal Champions just before the destruction of Gold Storage on the North-West of the map. Try to protect Hog Riders by Grand Warden's ability. Now that Cannons are distracted, deploy the King on the South-West of the map and let him deal with the outside structures above the Firecrackers.

Step 4 – Use Invisibility on the South Side of the Map

Once your troops, especially Hog Riders and Royal Champion destroyed the West-side and reached the South of the map, turn the Wizard and Bomb towers invisible. When towers have been destroyed, use your King's ability on the outside structure of the South. Then follow the Royal Champion's movement and make sure to use your invisibility abilities on her positions whenever she is in danger.

Step 5 – Let the Troops Do the Rest

This is simply how to three star Hog Mountain challenge. Now, let the troops destroy every enemy structure and you will get the three stars. If you didn't succeed at your first attempt, try the steps again and again until you get all the stars. Keep in mind that this method needs perfect timing, so be fast.

Not only did we hear that The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal would be playing Joel in the upcoming The Last of Us show by HBO, but we also heard that Bella Ramsey, who played the brave noblewoman Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones, will be cast to play Ellie. You can certainly see the similarities between GoT's Lyanna and TLOU's Ellie – two stubborn and very brave young women but how are fans reacting to this news and are they sad that the favorite to be Ellie won't be Kaitlyn Dever?

Kaitlyn Dever, an American actress who gained recognition for her roles in Justified and the brilliant Netflix drama miniseries Unbelievable, was the hot favorite for fans to play Ellie from The Last of Us. Just like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, people thought that she would make a great fit due to her physical similarity to the character as well as her demeanor. Looking through social media, you are initially greeted with the excitement that fans have to just finally know who will play these characters at long last but also while many think that Bella Ramsey is perfect for the role as Ellie, a few are disappointed that Kaitlyn Dever was picked up.

So as you can tell from the reactions so far on Twitter, some are all in on Bella Ramsey playing Ellie, and others aren't too sure if the actress can pull the role of Ellie off and would have preferred Kaitlyn Dever. Personally speaking, I think Ramsey will knock it out of the park but after seeing Dever's performance in Unbelievable, the actress has a hell of a lot of talent that is right up there with what fans want to see in someone portraying Ellie.

Hopefully, we will get a release date for the HBO show soon and have something to look forward to in this hellish year. As it stands, we could see The Last Of Us release by the end of the year or towards the start of next year but until an official announcement, it will just be rumors.

Season of the Chosen officially went live earlier this month and players have already impressed by the new content and items that Bungie dropped by the arrival of the new season. When it comes to weapons, players seem to be happy with the new additions such as Frozen Orbit sniper, Slavager's Salvo grenade launcher, Bottom Dollar Hand Cannon, and the lately discovered Destiny 2 Extraordinary Rendition.

Before getting started, let me tell you that you can simply achieve the Destiny 2 Extraordinary Rendition through the drops from Umbral Engrams. So if you don't want to get involved in quests or challenges, you can get the SMG sooner or later based on your luck. But if you need it as soon as possible, then follow the instruction:

Step 1 – Start Challenger's Proving 7

As you may already know, Season of the Chosen features a main 12-step Challenger's Proving quests that will show you the new areas of the Destiny 2 universe while making you familiar with new gameplay and loot features. In order to get the Extraordinary Rendition SMG, you need to get into the seventh step of the Challenger's Proving quest.

Step 2 – Complete Contender's Ascent 7 Challenge

When you are in the Challenger's Proving 7 quest, you will encounter Cabal and you should defeat him with an SMG in order to complete the Contender's Ascent 7 challenge and get the Extraordinary Rendition SMG.

This new SMG mostly drops with Corkscrew Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Overflow, and Frenzy rolls, with Aggressive Frame as Exotic Intrinsic. Below you can check out some of the weapon's stats and its available rolls from LightGG:

McDonald's Pokemon Cards 2021 – The Most Expensive Cards on eBay

You may have seen that McDonald's and The Pokemon Company have teamed up to release a special set of Pokemon Trading Cards for the franchise's 25th anniversary. The collaboration sees 25 different cards available in both holo and non-holo formats, making for 50 cards in total. This has left the cards in high demand as collectors from all over the US scramble to get the cards. In doing so, people are getting doubles or just looking to make bank and therefore selling them online. Here are some of the highest McDonald's Pokemon Cards eBay sales so far.

What cards are available?

The cards that are available are all reprints from previous sets. They include the 24 different starters from across every game, plus fan-favourite Pikachu. Although they are reprints, they contain a special 25th-anniversary logo and McDonald's own holographic foil.

The full list of Pokemon is as follows:
Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mudkip, Torchic, Treecko, Chimchar, Piplup, Turtwig, Oshawott, Snivy, Tepig, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Litten, Popplio, Rowlet, Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble.

As mentioned, there are 25 different cards available in two different formats — holographic and non-holographic.

McDonald's Pokemon Cards eBay Sales

So far, there have been some staggering sales on eBay. Full cases of 150 packs have already been sold for over $1,100 on the online auction site! There are also plenty of other sales that have been around or over the $850 mark.

There have also been sales of completed sets of the cards, the most expensive of these had an offer accepted around the $400 mark and that price is likely to rise. Other complete sets are selling for around $300.

In terms of individual cards, the holo Pikachu takes the biscuit here. The card is selling for up to $100 on its own! The Kanto starters, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle are the next most popular, selling for around $20-$30 each and then the rest of the prices range from around $10-$20. That's a lot of money for a promotion that just went live!

What has The Pokemon Company said?

The Pokemon Company has condoned people's behaviour on Twitter. The overwhelming popularity of the promotion means the cards are being reprinted at maximum capacity. This ultimately means there will be more cards in circulation and therefore, those that are out there will be less valuable. Don't feed the scalpers people, the cards will be back!

Hunt Showdown is a first-person shooter from Crysis developer Crytek. The game released on PC and Xbox One in 2019 before coming to PS4 last year. Now, developers Crytek has revealed the details for the Hunt Showdown Update for February 2021, ver. 1.4.9, which includes some new DLC and bug fixes. Here's everything you need to know.

Hunt Showdown Update February 2021 – Experimental Beta Branch

Crytek is adding a new beta branch in this update. The plan with the branch is to try and dampen the stuttering issues some players have faced in the shooter. To use the beta branch in Hunt Showdown, players should select the game in the Steam library, select settings, then properties and then select the beta page. There, they will find a drop-down menu in which this beta branch can be selected.

The developers say of this beta: "It is important to note that this will not resolve the issues for everyone, but with the feedback and telemetry we gather from this branch, we will be able to dig deeper into this problem."

Hunt Showdown Update February 2021 – Spirit of Nian DLC

The update contains some new DLC, titled Spirit of Nian, which consists of North Star (Legendary Hunter), The Sovereign (Legendary Hunter), Sniper's Gift (Legendary Nagant Officer Carbine), Dragon's Song (Legendary Blank Fire Decoys), and Fire Monkey (Legendary Fusees).

Bug Fixes

The latest update also contains a handful of bug fixes which can be found below:

Stuttering
  • Optimized the transition between compounds to reduce stutters.
UI
  • Switching from a hunter with less traits and switching to another with more will result in the display skulls not appearing behind the traits.
  • Trait box indicators are missing after hiring a hunter that has less traits than the currently selected one.
  • Improvements made to the reverb zones in Watch Towers.
Trickshooter DLC
  • Improvements made to the textures tied to the Specter 1882 Foregrip "Carter's Quickshot"
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in visual issues for Carter within lobby
  • Fixed an issue that caused Carters' gloves to clip through some weapons.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Carters' gloves to clip while in dark sight effect.

The update is available now on PC and is around 630MB in size.

Valheim Karve Guide – How to Build and Upgrade the Raft

Valheim is currently taking the world by storm. Iron Gate's Viking RPG is on Steam via early access and is already attracting a huge player base. The game offers players the ability to collect a range of materials that can be crafted into a bunch of useful items. One set of these items players can craft is boats. There are a total of three types of boats in Valheim, the Raft, Karve and Longboat. In this guide, we're going to be looking at how you can get yourself the Valheim Karve.

Step 1. Get yourself a Raft

In order to get yourself a Karve, you will first need a raft. To build the Raft, players need to take 20x Wood, 6x Leather Scraps and 10x Resin to a workbench. Players can then pull out the hammer, select the raft and place it in the water.

Step 2. Gather materials for the Valheim Karve

To upgrade the Raft to the Karve, players will need 30x Fine Wood, 10x Deer Hide, 20x Resin and 80x Bronze Nails. But where can you find these items?

Fine Wood: This material can be gained by chopping down Birch and Oak trees in the meadows or by looting shipwrecks on the coast of the Black Forest.
Deer Hide: Deer Hide can either be dropped by Deer or be found in chests in the Meadows or Black Forest.
Resin: Can be gained by defeating Greydwarf enemies. These are most commonly found in the Black Forest.
Bronze Nails: Nails can be crafted at the forge. 20 Nails can be made from one Bronze ingot. Bronze itself can be forged by crafting two copper with one tin.

Step 3. Craft the Valheim Karve

After gathering the materials, players can now craft the upgraded Raft in Valheim. This can be down in a similar way to creating the Raft. Find a workbench, take out the hammer, select the Karve and place it in the water. It's as simple as that.
