The Last of Us – Who Could Play the Character of Abby in HBO's Upcoming Show?

abby anderson

While we don't know what actors will be cast alongside The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal as Joel and Game of Thrones badass Bella Ramsey, we do know that Pedro and Bella will be joined by Riley, Ellie's girlfriend from The Last of Us DLC, Left Behind, while accompanied by Tess, Marlene, and Maria. Going by Director Neil Druckmann's tweet, even though he blanked out the four letters, the badass Abby could be making an appearance which is fascinating news. Ever since The Last of Us TV series was announced, fans had been trying to guess who would be the show's Ellie and Joel, and now that we know this information, let's move onto who could play Abby Anderson, the playable false protagonist of The Last of Us Part Part 2.

As stated in the Hollywood Reporter last year, the HBO series will cover the events of the original game with the possibility of additional content based on the game sequel, The Last of Us Part 2 so it looks like there is a very big possibility that Abby will be cast at some point throughout the series. The question that needs to be asked how is: who would we want to play her? You may have your own opinions on this but here are some of mine.

Jodie Comer

You may know Comer from her role as the badass Russian assassin, Villanelle, in the British comedy-drama spy thriller, Killing Eve. Not only do I think Comer has the acting ability to play Abby but also going by how she took on the role as Villanelle, it certainly wouldn't be a huge jump for her to slip into the shoes of the revengeful and fierce Abby Anderson.

Julia Garner

All you have to do is watch Garner in her role as Ruth Langmore in Ozark to know that this actress would kill the part of Abby. Not to be messed with is her middle name and she'd gladly break your nose if you got on the wrong side of her. As we have seen throughout Ozark, Garner showcased that her character as Langmore did have a softer side, and given that Abby also expresses her vulnerability in The Last of Us Part 2, it wouldn't be a stretch of Garner's acting skills to incorporate both abilities if she were to take on Abby's persona.

Maisie Williams

Now, I know what you are thinking. Yes, Maisie was one of the fan favorites to play Ellie in HBO's The Last of Us but now that it's obviously not happening, you can certainly see why she could be in the running for the role of Abby. Just by watching her performance in Game of Thrones as the determined and fearless Arya Stark, Maisie showcased that she wasn't a little girl any longer and that she was more than capable of taking on many of the show's villains as well as that incredible scene at the end of season eight with the Night King.

Regina King

I understand that King is over twice the age of Abby in The Last of Us Part 2 who is in her early 20s but come on, we all know that this incredibly talented actress would kill the entire show with her portrayal of Ms. Anderson. I can dream, can't I?

Who would you like to play as Abby when the time comes for her to, hopefully, make her grand entrance into the much-anticipated show? There are plenty of amazing actors out there for you to choose from, that's for sure. To keep you going until we get to hear when we can actually watch HBO's The Last of Us, why not check out some of the best fan art of Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal gathered from across the internet.

Why Has Joogsquad Removed All Of His YouTube Videos?

Joogsquad

Jack 'Joogsquad' Tenney, the popular American Youtube vlogger has been forced to remove all of his uploaded videos. On February 17, Joogsquad put out a tweet stating that YouTube gave him no other choice but to remove all of his content from his channel. Many fans are definitely going to be disappointed by the news. The popular vlogger had built a large community, which spread across his two YouTube channels.

You can read Jack's tweet about the content removal below.

Who Is Joogsquad?

Jack Tenney is the older brother of Fortnite superstar, Turner 'Tfue' Tenney. He joined YouTube back in 2007 and has amassed more than five million subscribers on his main channel. Unlike his brother, he doesn't upload gaming content to his YouTube channel. Instead, Jack uploads challenge videos, vlogs, and sports videos.

Why Has Joogsquad Removed His YouTube Videos?

There's currently no official statement from YouTube or Jack on the exact reasoning behind the content removal. However, the wording of Jack's tweet does indicate that there must have been a solid reason as he states "I really don't have a choice".

It's possible that this situation relates back to a recent prank video. Only a few weeks ago, Jack and his friends were arrested for changing a Hollywood sign to "Hollyboob". The situations could be unrelated, but if there's an ongoing police investigation then YouTube may have had no choice.

It is more than likely that this is a simple dispute between Jack and YouTube after a follow-up tweet from the vlogger says:

What Happens Next?

As of writing, visiting the JOOGSQUAD PPJT channel still greets you with an empty video section. It's unclear right now if and when Jack will be able to re-upload his older content and create new videos. But it is worth noting that Jack's tweet does state that the removal is temporary. Fans will need to keep an eye on Jack's YouTube and Twitter to find out if his content will be re-uploaded.

Valheim Draugr Bow – How to Craft the Draugr Fang

valheim draugr bow

Not a day goes by without some Valheim chatter recently. The Viking-RPG is quickly becoming one of the fastest-growing early access games in Steam's history. Developers Iron Gate confirmed that after only 13 days, the game had hit over two million Vikings and hit a peak concurrent player milestone of a staggering 360,000 players.

With so many players playing such an intricate game, there are bound to be a range of questions and queries that pop up. One of which is how to craft the Valheim Draugr Bow, known as the Draugr Fang. Here is our guide on how to do exactly that.

What is the Valheim Draugr Bow?

The Valheim Draugr Bow, or Draugr Fang, is one of the best bows in the game. It can be crafted after players have cleared the Swamp biome and beaten the Bonemass. After defeating this enemy, players have the ability to find Silver – the final piece to the Draugr Bow puzzle.

The Bow has a maximum durability of 250, with piercing stats up to 56 and poison stats up to 20. To upgrade the Bow this far, however, players will need to get their forge level to 5. It also adds has a 3x backstab bonus and 20 knockback, however, does come with a -5% movement speed penalty.

What items do you need to craft the Valheim Draugr Bow?

Surprisingly, the majority of items needed to craft this Bow are very easy to find. To craft it, players need:

10x Ancient Bark
20x Silver
2x Deer Hide
10x Guck

Ancient Bark can be gathered from Ancient Trees in the Swamp Biome. Silver is a little bit trickier to find. It can be found in the Mountains area of Valheim where players will need to have the wishbone equipped. From there, in the Mountains, players will need to look out for a flashing area, in which they can dig to find the ore.

Deer Hide can be dropped by Deer or found in Chests in the Black Forest and Meadows biome and Guck can be found in Gucksacks in the Swamp biome.

After grabbing all the crafting materials, players will be easily able to craft the Draugr Bow.

Animal Crossing Mario Update Inbound – Here Are All The Items we Know so Far

animal crossing mario update

Last September, Nintendo announced that a range of Super Mario-themed items would be making their way to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This was then teased again at the start of this year, following the announcement of the Festivale update. Now, for the first time since its official reveal, Nintendo has shared more details about the Animal Crossing Mario update. The details came during the company's first Nintendo Direct in almost 18 months. Here's everything we know so far.

When is the Animal Crossing Mario update?

The title update will be heading to the Nintendo Switch on February 25, just a week away. The furniture and fashion items will then be available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons from March 1 and will be available directly in Nook Shopping.

What are the items?

So far, Nintendo has shown off a bunch of Mario-themed items coming to the game. This is everything we've seen so far via the Nintendo Direct announcement.

  • Mario Hat – 1500 Bells
  • Peach Crown – 12000 Bells
  • Wario Hat – 1500 Bells
  • Luigi Hat – 1500 Bells
  • Mario 'Stache – 1200 Bells
  • Wario 'Stache – 1200 Bells
  • Luigi 'Stache – 1200 Bells
  • Mario Outfit – 2400 Bells
  • Peach Dress – 6000 Bells
  • Wario Outfit – 2400 Bells
  • Luigi Outfit – 2400 Bells
  • Mario Shoes – 1400 Bells
  • Peach Shoes – 2400 Bells
  • Wario Shoes – 1400 Bells
  • Luigi Shoes – 1400 Bells
  • 1-Up Mushroom – 2000 Bells
  • Block – 1000 Bells
  • Coin – 350 Bells
  • Fire Flower – 1500 Bells
  • Floating Block – 1000 Bells
  • Goal Pole – 3500 Bells
  • Large Mushroom Platform – 3000 Bells
  • Pipe – 5000 Bells
  • Shell – 700 Bells
  • Small Mushroom Platform – 1000
  • Super Mushroom -1350 Bells
  • Super Star – 2000 Bells
  • Thwomp – 3000 Bells
  • ? Block – 1350 Bells
  • Mushroom Mural – 3000 Bells
  • Block Flooring – 3000 Bells
  • Lakitu's Cloud Rug – 1500 Bells
  • Yoshi's Egg Rug – 1500 Bells

That means a whopping 33 Super Mario items will be coming to the game and it wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo added even more!

What do the items do?

A lot of the items shown in the video seem incredibly interactive. There's a Thwomp that can block player's paths, a Goal Pole where players can hoist a flag and most importantly, the Warp Pipe, which works and will allow players to fast travel across their islands.

This is definitely one of the coolest updates to Animal Crossing: New Horizons so far. It will be incredibly interesting to see how people start to turn their islands into Super Mario levels.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Comic Is a Must-Read While You Wait for the Zelda Joy-Cons

Yesterday at the long-awaited Nintendo Direct livestream, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD was announced during their 50-minute long event. Skyward Sword HD sees the classic with updated graphics that first appeared in 2011 on the Wii. As well as the game announcement of Skyward Sword, we also got to see some wonderful limited edition Zelda Joy-Cons with the right Joy-Con taking inspiration from the Master Sword and the left showcasing the Hylian Shield. Both the game and Joy-cons are available to preorder on the eshop but since you can't get your hands on them until July 16th, how about Penny Arcade's The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword comic to tie you over?

Penny Arcade is a webcomic focused on video games and video game culture that started all the way back in 1998. The site's comics are written by Jerry Holkins and illustrated by Mike Krahulik. Under the banner of "Penny Arcade Presents", Krahulik and Holkins joined up to create an official artwork/comic strip entitled 'The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword'. After Krahulik submitted his artwork to Nintendo, the company liked what they saw and gave him the go-ahead to launch it as an official comic which incorporated Krahulik's signature style and Skyward Sword's design.

Over on Twitter, Jonathan "Gabe" Gabriel, the protagonist of Penny Arcade and the comic alter ego of Mike Krahulik, briefly touched upon the Skyward Sword comic and also how he is still "super proud of it" and that he's also looking forward to playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD on the switch. He also gave a link to the actual comic so that fans could check it out over on the Penny Arcade site. If you'd like to take a look at the short Zelda comic, head on over here to give it a read.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD launches on July 16th, 2021.

Splatoon 3 Predicted Release Date – Here's Everything We Know so Far

Splatoon 3 predicted release date

Last night, at the end of Nintendo's first Direct in around 18 months, Splatoon 3 was announced. The game is a follow up to the fun, fast-paced shooters Splatoon and Splatoon 2 and is set to hit the Nintendo Switch at some point in 2022. While Nintendo shared no further details than that, here are our Splatoon 3 Predicted Release Date theories.

What is Splatoon?

The Splatoon games are bright, colourful, kid-friendly third-person shooters, with tonnes of competitive action. The titles see two teams compete to cover as much of the map with their colour paint as possible, taking out the opposition to gain an advantage.

Despite the slightly more child-focused aesthetic, the Splatoon games are super competitive. The online matches within the game can get pretty intense and Nintendo themselves even hold Splatoon World Championship Tournaments.

What do we know about Splatoon 3 so far?

Having only been announced yesterday, February 18, details on Splatoon 3 are fairly limited.

What we did see, was that typical Nintendo charm displayed throughout the reveal trailer – with a Squid Kid living his Mad Max life. Nintendo confirmed that the game takes place "in the wake of chaos" and players will duke it out in the "sun scorched Splatlands and the new city, Splatsville".

While it's to be expected, Nintendo also stated that "New weapons, moves, and more await".

What is our Splatoon 3 predicted release date?

So, we know the release date is at some point next year, but when exactly could that be?

The original Splatoon launched worldwide at the end of May 2015 and Splatoon 2 released on July 21, 2017. That leads me to believe that Splatoon 3 will drop between May and July. The series has proven that it can be successful in that release window and they're great summer games, so why break that formula?

While the games are ultra-popular and have a huge following, they don't yet have the pulling power of some of Nintendo's big hitters, like Mario and Zelda. That means that, as long as development proceeds trouble-free, Nintendo would likely keep the games away from the Holiday period, instead opting for one of the bigger franchises to help shift a few more consoles.

The game could conceivably come earlier than May, depending on what Nintendo's other releases look like around there, however, why try and fix something that isn't broken?

Rumours Hint at Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess Switch Ports – Could They Happen?

wind waker hd switch port rumours

Last night we were treated to our first Nintendo Direct in almost 18 months. There was elation for some and disappointment for others but overall, it was just good to have them back. Personally, I didn't expect any Zelda presence during the event. Rather, I expected a standalone The Legend of Zelda anniversary Direct, much like Nintendo did for Super Mario.

Instead, what we received was news on a Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Season Pass and an HD port of the Wii entry into the Zelda franchise, Skyward Sword. Nintendo did also announce a very nice set of Skyward Sword Joy-Cons.

Rumours had been circulating for a while that Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD Switch versions would be available in a single bundle. Much like Super Mario 3D All-Stars but yesterday's announcement proved that wasn't the case. That hasn't stopped the rumour mill from churning however, and last night, the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess gossip started again.

Wind Waker HD Switch Port – What are the new rumours?

The fresh rumours come from VGC Journalist and Yooka-Laylee producer, Andy Robinson. Robinson stateed that ports of "Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are 100% coming this year."

Do we believe the rumours?

Considering so little was shared in the way of Zelda news, I stand by my initial thought that we will be getting a special 35th anniversary Direct for The Legend of Zelda. If Nintendo has two more Zelda games they're porting to the Switch, plus news on the Breath of the Wild sequel, it definitely makes sense they have a blowout video specifically for that.

Robinson also has plenty of experience in the industry and a strong nose for this sort of thing, so if he says it's 100% happening, there's a very good chance it is.

What are our thoughts on the Zelda news?

I'm a big Zelda fan but I have two giant gaps in my history of the series, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Twilight Princess came at a time in my life when I fell out of love with Video Games and Skyward Sword was slept on en masse. I'm excited to have the opportunity to play both of these games on my Nintendo Switch.

Then there's Wind Waker. Breath of the Wild aside, Wind Waker is absolutely my favourite Zelda game. The art and music are incredible, story compelling and sense of exploration grand. Despite not playing the other two games, should they all release at a similar time, this is the one I'll play through first.

Caligula 2 On Switch – Japan Release Date, Everything Revealed

FuRyu announced on the Japanese version of the February 2021 Nintendo Direct that Caligula 2 is coming to Switch. Caligula 2 will be launching on June 24, 2021 in Japan, for 8778 Yen (tax included). FuRyu did not announced Caligula 2 in the West.

The trailer explained Caligula 2 and it surprisingly has the exact same story pitch as the first game

Caligula 2 on Switch is set in a virtual world titled Redo, where people with regrets can redo their lives in high school. The world of Redo is controlled by a virtual idol named Regret, who guides the inhabitants to happiness with her songs. However, none of the inhabitans are aware the world is virtual.

However, one day, the protagonist and several other students realize this is not the real world, and try to find a way home. They form the Return Home Club, gathering allies to escape. If you haven't played the first Caligula, the pitch is also quite similar to Key's Angel Beats if you watched that. Except it's a virtual world instead of the afterlife.

The protagonists will end up facing the composers of Regret, a group of individuals who call themselvs the Obligado. In Caligula 1 too, the antagonists were music composers.

Caligula was first launched on PS Vita on May 2018 only in Japan. Later on, an enhanced version titled Caligula Overdose as launched on PS4. NIS America localized the game as The Caligula Effect: Overdose in March 2019. On  PC, PS4, and Switch.

Caligula 1 was written by Tadashi Satomi, who worked on the Persona games before Persona 3. DualShockers previously interview Caligula's director Takuya Yamanaka as well.

FuRyu should reveal more details soon via the Caligula Japanese Twitter.

Caligula 2 On Switch Reveal Trailer

The Japanese version of Nintendo Direct was as always now narrated by the beautiful voice of Yuichi Nakamura. One of the most popular seiyuu and whom you can regularly hear in anime.

Knockout City Multiplayer — What to Expect from EA's Dodgeball Game

Knockout City key art, EA, Velan Studios

Today, EA revealed its latest project from the EA Originals program. This one comes from Velan Studios, who is the team behind Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. However, this game is something completely different. Knockout City pairs elements of first-person shooters and fighting games to make a new dodgeball extravaganza. I've had a chance to get my hands on the game and am here to report that the Knockout City multiplayer is quite fun.

At its core, Knockout City is a team-based shooter. Except, instead of shooting, you're throwing and catching dodgeballs. This means the whole thing is based on timing instead of your aim. In fact, when you hold down the throwing button, you auto-lock onto an opponent. However, if you're just tossing your ball around willy-nilly you're never going to hit anyone.

This is because you can just catch those dodgeballs if you're paying attention. So, it's important to use all the tricks at your disposal to knock your opponents off balance before hitting them in the face. You have all kinds of moves to work with. You can fake a throw, use different types of throws to get around obstacles for a surprise, and even ram into players to knock them around. To truly dominant a match, you'll need to work with your teammates to cause enough controlled chaos to knock out your enemies.

So far, I've only played a few matches of Knockout City multiplayer, but a few things are clear. Most importantly, it's a good time. I'm not a big fan of shooters, but the way everything has been made more timing-based makes it more palatable to my personal tastes. Sure, there's still some element of twitchiness to the combat; however, teamwork and quick-planning seem like the factors that will usually win the day.

This brings me to my next point. Knockout City is, like many multiplayer titles, going to be best enjoyed with a group. You can immediately notice when you're playing against a team of friends. The coordination needed to really destroy a team just won't happen in pick-up groups. I'm not saying you shouldn't hop in for solo games, but it does seem like that will be a tougher test.

On top of all this, I really love how chaotic the movement is. As mentioned, you have a ton of tools at your disposal. You can quickly dash around, make liberal use of a double jump, or even bring out a hang glider to soar around the world. And each map has its own touch that adds to the chaos. One lets you zip around more quickly with your glider as you catch thermals rising off of rooftops. Another is a constantly in-motion construction site that sees the world around you shifting around as you play.

Of course, none of this addresses the most important hurdle the game faces. To be a success, the game must acquire a sizeable audience. That's going to be a tough test. The team is going to charge $20 for Knockout City, but at launch, everyone can hop in and test out the full game for free. Plus, the game supports cross-play and cross-progression out of the gate. So, Velan Studios is doing everything it can to make it a success.

That said, It's a somewhat odd decision to not go free-to-play given the game does have cosmetic microtransactions. Usually, those are there to offset the cost of continued development. However, it's important to note that the cosmetics aren't coming out of lootboxes. If you want something, you just go buy it. That's a bit less predatory, which makes the upfront cost a little easier to swallow. It's also worth noting that you can earn everything in the game. It's just probably going to take you a while.

Enough about the game's cosmetic strategy though. The bottom line is that my early time with the game has me more than intrigued. Knockout City will need to prove itself with the larger audience to get a big enough community to stay sustainable. However, the game feels different enough from typical shooters to potentially have a chance. If nothing else, the movement feels great.

Sengoku Musou 5 Surprisingly Announced on Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, With A Trailer Full Of Pretty Boys

Sengoku Musou 5 switch

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force revealed Sengoku Musou 5, Samurai Warriors 5, on Switch during the February 2021 Nintendo Direct. Sengoku Musou 5 game will be coming worldwide in Summer 2021. This is the first game of the series in years, and highly anticipated by fans.

Update: Koei Tecmo announced Sengoku Musou 5 is also coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. This is a multi platform release after all. Moreover, monthly live streams with new information are coming. The first stream will be happening on February 25 JST. The game is also celebrating the franchise's 18th anniversary.

Sengoku Musou 5 will be focusing on Oda Nobunaga and his trusted ally Akechi Mitsuhide. They were the two most prominently featured characters in the trailer. Many other characters are quickly shown however.

Sengoku Musou is set in feudal Japan and features several historical samurai and figures battling each other. It's the main Musou series of Koei Tecmo and Omega Force alongside Sangoku Musou, Dynasty Warriors, which is based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

This is the first Samurai Warriors game in a long while. All the characters have received new character designs for the occasion. The gameplay looks like the usual Musou, but Koei Tecmo might reveal some new subtleties later on.

Sengoku Musou 5 – Switch Reveal Trailer

For those of you who know a bit of Sengoku era history, or just are longtime anime fans, you definitely know about Nobunanga and Akechi. I'll be interesting to see how the game handles their relationship.

In slightly related news, Koei Tecmo will also launch Persona 5 Strikers in the west this February, on PS4, Switch, and Steam. Slightly related only since Persona 5 Strikers is not a Musou game. But a more traditional action JRPG. It won't be using the generals and outposts systems and everything from Musou. You can read more about the game with our coverage of the Japanese promotional content Atlus has released in the past. P5S has been out in Japan for a year after all, under the name Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers. Persona 5 Strikers will launch in America on Steam, PS4 and Switch on February 23, 2021.
