King's Bounty 2 Choices And Consequences Guide

King's Bounty 2 Choices And Consequences Guide
King's Bounty II has a number of branching conversations and dialogue options. This King's Bounty 2 Choices And Consequences Guide lists all of the difference choices we've encountered while playing the game with a breakdown of the consequences and impact of the decisions you make.

For our play through we played as the character Aivor. Depending on the character you play, the exact contents of the wording may differ and some choices may not be available. However, for the most part, it's similar dialogue with similar choices and consequences. We're focusing primarily on the immediate aftermath of your decisions, as it's a huge game and it would be impossible to understand the implication of every decision further down the line. However, for the most part, it's minor differences. Changes in rewards, different dialogue, etc. There are some big changes but as long as you're reading the dialogue, they are very clear. We suggest making a save before every major decision just in case you change your mind.

Important Note: Reward tables in King's Bounty 2 are randomized, to an extent. This means that while I have legendary item X as a reward, you may get another. You can save before handing in or completing quests and then reload, if the original reward was not the one listed.

King's Bounty 2 Choices And Consequences Guide

Attack The Humans Or Attack The Dwarves (Axes & Splinters Quest)

If you choose Attack The Humans
You will fight a band of Deserters and two squads of Brigands. When you defeat the enemies you get Order points and some gold. This is the easier fight of the two and the "good guy" choice. Mark, the nearby Recruiter, will unlock Dwarven Militiamen to recruit. The nearby dwarf camp survives and you get 300 Gold and Soldier's Boots. When you return to town you see the Dwarves delivering lumber

If you choose Attack The Dwarves
If you choose to attack the Dwarves you will face off against some Dogs of War and Dwarven Militiamen. Lupin and Rald appreciate the help and will continue with their plans to siege the castles supplies. They then give you some vendor trash and gold. You get Anarchy Points for this choice. The nearby Recruiter, Mark, will unlock Brigands to recruit. A small group of humans occupies the nearby town and kills the dwarves camping nearby. You loot the warehouse for 300 Gold and Soldier's Boots.

Destroy The Prison Golems Or Pacify The Golems With The Help Of Their Master (The Ruins of New Hope)

If you choose Destroy the Prison Golems
You get Power Points for this choice. This is your only choice as Aivor as you need to be the mage. You kill the Golems and get a Summon Golem spell.

If you choose Pacify the golems with the help of their master
You get Finesse Points for this choice. Unless you are playing the mage, you cannot make this choice. You solve a minor puzzle and then convince the mage to call off the Golems. You get a stoneskin scroll, a great spell that's worth saving to learn.

Give The Note To Horace Or Tenebros (Enemies Among Men)

If you choose Give The Note To Horace
If you give it to Horace and he gives you information on the crooked guard, he's heading to Castle Irok. Aivar offers to take down Feraud and Horace agrees. You get Order Points.

Tenebros said it was a wise decision and he provides some information on the crooked guard. He tells you to chase him down at the castle. You get Anarchy Points.

You'll have to fight Trolls. They heal every turn and are quite the fight. When you return to Bludgeon there is another choice, check the Deed choice below.

If you choose Come To An Agreement with Guerric
This choice rewards you with Order Points. You'll have to speak to people around town and go grab some lilies from nearby. You get ambushed by some undead enemies, not tough. Few more minor errands ne he agrees to help the village as long as they help in return. When you complete this part of the quest you get Gordian's Ring, a legendary item with +50 Leadership and +1 Morale for Power. You still get the abandoned catacombs quest (which is also available when you give the deed to Bludgeon). In terms of rewards, this is the best choice to make.

Return The Deed To Sylvain Or Give Deed To Bludgeon (The Refugee Camp)

If you give the Deed to Bludgeon
You get 500 gold if you give the deed to Bludgeon and you unlock Mercenaries and Free Archers in the nearby recruiter, he sends you on a quest to some Catacombs. This is a very hard quest as

If you give the deed to Sylvain
If you want to give the deed to Sylvain, you'll have to fight your way out of the camp. This was an "Undefeatable" fight when I attempted it. It's very tough so make sure you have a save from before you enter the camp so you can leave if you need to.

King's Bounty 2 Review – Fit for a King

Building on a franchise that set its roots in the early 90s is no easy feat, but that's exactly what 1C Entertainment hopes to do with the release of King's Bounty 2, a combination of real-time RPG with turn-based combat and a unique army management system.

The modern RPG has long shied from the turn-based tactical approach of yesteryear, instead opting to modernize everything with flashy real-time whatevers and gizmos. However, as these reinventions of the classic formula continue to cast a shadow over the turn-based roots of my youth, I await that shining beacon of light, that one game brave enough to admit that turn-based is just better. I know how corny that sounds but there's nothing more I crave than a fantastic turn-based RPG, and a fantastic turn-based RPG is exactly what I've been playing.

King's Bounty 2 Review

It only took a few moments alongside my trusty steed to notice just how massive a leap this game is. Seldom does a franchise evolve in such a meaningful and fantastical way – think the early days of the Grand Theft Auto franchise or the incredible leaps of The Witcher 3. King's Bounty 2 is as big an evolution for 1C Entertainments strategy fueled RPG as any we've seen before. The older games featured a predominantly isometric style perspective with visuals closer to that of a cartoon than a realistic depiction of a high fantasy world. King's Bounty 2 throws players into an absolutely gorgeous third-person game world, packed to the brim with charm and character. While its visuals and environments have seen a massive overhaul, the core features of the franchise remain strong.

King's Bounty 2 is a gentle mix of RPG and strategy. Controlling the main character in third-person, you walk through bustling towns, explore spooky graveyards, and loot chests and coffers aplenty. It has everything a fantasy RPG promises and delivers, and while much of this style is very familiar, it's the nature of the main character and the combat that sees King's Bounty 2 carve its own unique niche within the RPG space.

The main character itself never actually fights. You can find legendary equipment, learn powerful spells, and buff your allies, but you're always on the outskirts of combat, watching from afar as your carefully designed army massacres everything in its path. The core combat mechanic of King's Bounty 2 is a combination of tabletop style turn-based combat and modern strategy unit management. You can hire an impressive roster of troops, everything from gargoyles and eagles to vicious wolves and plump dwarves with flamethrowers. Each unit belongs to a specific style of play, levels up, unlocks new skills, and brings different strengths and weaknesses to your army.

As the general of your very own death squad, you need to make sure you're prepared for anything. Hire some heavily armored cavalry to get behind enemy lines and take out the mages before a meteor drops from the sky. Recruit some shielded dwarves to tank your frontlines while your archers dwindle enemy numbers from the rear. It has all the complex strategy of the large-scale RTS games of today but in a smaller, more personal, and more immersive package that is as rewarding and exciting from the first minute to the last.

Each battle fought is unique. Between the combination of enemy troops, the abilities available to the enemy general, and the battle maps that are a perfect representation of the real-time counterparts, you're constantly on your toes. Players will constantly be adapting to each challenge thrown their way, but don't be fooled; King's Bounty 2 can be brutally difficult at times.

As your troops increase in level and learn new skills, so does the main character. There are four main paths of progress – Anarchy, Order, Finesse, and Power – core principles that are etched into the very society of the game. These core values are tied directly to different types of troops, but it's not simply a matter of choosing the best of everything; your characters choices will dramatically impact the options available.

During these grand adventures, you will often have to make a choice. These choices are tied into the aforementioned system, creating an intriguing and constant moral dilemma as you weigh up the potential consequences of your actions with the benefit, or lack of, to your army. A friend asks you to charge the gates of a castle to save a loved one, while another is offering a squad of highly trained Death Knights if you take another route. What do you do? Do you make the right choice? The greedy choice? What makes the right choice, the right choice? It's a very interesting system that will constantly having you question every decision you make.

King's Bounty 2 is flooded with choices, more than I cared to count. Some are massive, altering the very world you're fighting to save, while others merely alter the lives of a small hamlet, or the fate of two dead lovers looking to rekindle the flame in the afterlife. Every road, every river, everything leads to something, somewhere new and exciting, new quests, new rewards, new stories, the scope of the game world is matched by the quality and character of the content hidden within.

Visually, the transition to this much grander project is near flawless in execution. The world of Nostria is beautiful from coast to coast, but some areas of the game didn't quite make the same leap. The user-interface has issues throughout. I was about 20 hours into the game before more tutorial prompts started to appear, making that introduction to the core mechanics rather brutal. Trying to inspect troops and abilities has a similar problem, with prompts appearing and disappearing in a way that just becomes frustrating. Having to navigate a near endless inventory pool to find out what that last quest reward was; it wasn't fun at the start, and it was definitely less fun by the end.

The RPG shell will likely fool some, but King's Bounty 2 is a game of patience at its very core. The battles are slow, methodical, strategical, and much can be said for the rest of the game. You will constantly discover chests, caches, interesting characters, and a million and one things to distract you from your current goal. Just note that all of this is at a very slow pace. You dismount your horse (slowly), walk over to the loot (slowly), grab the loot, and then return to your horse and mount it (slowly). If you're the kind of player to truly appreciate the level of effort that goes into every little detail of a game world of this size, the kind of player that likes to stop and smell the roses, King's Bounty 2 is a bouquet feast for the senses. For those with a little less patience, that feeling of awe could quickly be overshadowed by frustration.

King's Bounty 2 is everything turn-based fans have been screaming out for. The traditional RPG elements are executed to near perfection. The combat is challenging and engaging from start to finish. The story is dark, heartwarming, and impactful. Put simply, this game has everything.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite Review

The Aliens series has been fairly hit and miss in the gaming world for what seems like forever. With Cold Iron Studios throwing their hat into the ring with Aliens: Fireteam Elite, is the latest entry a hit or a miss? Check out our review and find out.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite Review

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a co-op third-person survival shooter where you try to survive in the Aliens universe. Most of the game consists of going from one defense point to another, defending the area from swarms of enemies. It is repetitive and tiring, but is it any fun?

When you first start, you make a marine and are tossed into the hub. Here you are introduced to a few other characters and get a handful of story bits. Unfortunately, the extra character's mouths don't move and there are no cutscenes, making it kind of jarring. Still, the story is fine if you are an Aliens fan. The planet has already been lost, and your first objective is to retrieve a doctor from a planetary refinery. Each mission only lasts about 20-30 minutes, but they feel longer due to the tension of each fight. Overall you'll get around seven to eight hours out of the campaign.

Aliens Fireteam Elite Honest Review

With the crux of the game being its combat, how does it actually stack up? To be honest, it feels pretty good. Killing the Aliens is satisfying, and the guns have a solid pop to them. I'm a pyro guy, so I usually use flamethrowers anytime I can. Once I unlocked it here, I used it the whole time, and it was easily the most devastating weapon for average enemies. I would have to switch when the bullet sponge enemies came, but those instances were few and far between. Fans of the flamethrower will be welcome here.

You aren't just fighting the basic Aliens during this game either. They have evolved ones that run at you and explode, spitters, and giant warriors and praetorians. The game nails tension and seems to know just when to hit you with the more brutal enemies. I can't tell you how many times a warrior rushed us and dropped one or two of us just before we won. It isn't just Aliens you fight either; there are synths and other enemies as well.

So the core gameplay loop is fun; what about progression? Aliens: Fireteam Elite has classes and weapons to upgrades, as well as challenge cards. I played the heavy guy who got shoulder rockets, while our Editor-in-Chief Blaine Smith played the average soldier, who buffed us and had a grenade. Each of them had different skill upgrades, different perks, and could use other weapons. Challenge cards can make a level much harder, but net you more rewards and loot. The cards can't be used in survival, but we'll get more into that in a moment.

Aliens Fireteam Elite Honest game review

I mentioned tension and how the game nails it, but it also nails the atmosphere of the Aliens franchise. You are constantly on edge, and always looking over your shoulder. The motion sensor has a beep and works perfectly. The Aliens scream and groan as they die. The pulse rifle sounds like you'd expect. Defense points have turrets for you to set up, so you can feel like you are in the movie. The package combines into something quite fun for Aliens fans – but there are some huge problems.

The AI companions are garbage. You will not get out of the first campaign with just them; you need players to progress. There are no checkpoints either. If you fail a mission at the end, you are replaying from the start. Survival mode is your reward for beating the game, and as far as I can tell, it only has one level at the moment. The biggest issue is the fact that you can't use your challenge cards in survival. So one of the game's biggest boons is rendered useless in the mode that is supposed to keep you playing for a long time. It seems like a massive oversight, and it really kills the longevity of the game.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite does precisely what it sets out to do: letting players kill Aliens and defend hallways. Expecting anything more is only going to lead to disappointment.
