Kotaku Friday, December 3, 2021 10:20 AM In a bizarre new development, Take-Two has forced the makers of It Takes Two to abandon the trademark for the game's name, lest people confuse the publisher of Grand Theft Auto with a platform puzzler about a crumbling marriage. |

Kotaku Friday, December 3, 2021 5:30 AM In fall 2020, Kit-Kats were released in Japan at a smaller size. At the time, as YouTuber PDS points out, Nestlé said the smaller size was for customers worried about sugar and calories. Maybe that's true, but in Japan, snacks have been getting smaller and smaller for years, while prices haven't changed. |
PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 10:51 AM Want to know what the best Battlefield 2042 SWS-10 loadout is? Compared to most FPS games, attachments in Battlefield 2042 require a little more management. The plus system allows you to switch between preconfigured attachments in-game. Using this enables you to prepare for both close range and long distance encounters. Speccing your loadouts for the best Battlefield 2042 guns requires you to think about which attachments you need to equip in any given situation, taking into account the map you're playing on. The SWS-10 is a bolt-action sniper rifle, so it's best to use it at long range. However, this does mean that you need to manage bullet velocity when firing at faraway foes, so it takes a bit of skill to use effectively. Nevertheless, with a bit of practice, you can cause the opposing team some big problems. Once you have some experience with this gun, you can check out the SWS-10 loadout guide below, where you'll find which attachments complement each other and when you should switch attachments to get those crucial kills. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 10:51 AM Minecraft's hefty 1.18 update is at last live, and there's plenty to wrap your head around. There's an overhaul to overworld generation, expansive new caves to explore, new biomes, and more to discover. Now, the first pre-release for 1.18.1 is here following the update's launch, and while it's not a particularly massive one, it does make one key change: that pesky world fog won't keep blocking your view anymore. Producer Adrian Östergård has shared the patch notes for the pre-release, which include only a handful of tweaks and tinkerings to Mojang's sandbox game, but one handy change to where fog generates relative to your character. "World fog now starts further away from the player, to make distant terrain more visible," the notes detail. So, you should be now be able to drink in those charmingly blocky vistas for miles. Well, from further away now, anyhow. There's another fog-related change, too, which means it's now "applied as a cylindrical volume" rather than a spherical volume. So, erm, yeah. Big fog changes are coming up to Minecraft. RELATED LINKS: Minecraft console commands, Minecraft skins, Minecraft mods |
PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 10:45 AM Want to know more about Ayato, the head of the Kamisato Clan coming to Genshin Impact? Kamisato Ayato is the Yashiro Commissioner and one of the new Genshin Impact characters. Although there are not many details on Ayato, we do know he is Ayaka's older brother and is also pals with Thoma. When Ayaka and Ayato's parents passed away, Ayaka became the forefront of the Kamisato Clan, while Ayato worked within the government. He also leads the Shuumatsuban, the ninja organisation that Sayu belongs to. We haven't seen much of Ayato around Inazuma, as he tends to operate behind the scenes - many Genshin Impact characters comment on Ayato's skills as a fighter, as well as his busy schedule as head of the Kamisato Clan. In keeping with his position as head of a secret ninja organisation, Ayato is a pretty secretive character, so while we've only been treated to glimpses of his character throughout Genshin Impact so far - here's everything we've managed to glean about Ayato. Although we know of Ayato's existence in Genshin Impact, he hasn't yet been announced by Mihoyo, and this guide is based on datamined information. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 10:41 AM Despite the Steam Deck release date being pushed back by two months, excitement for the handheld gaming PC remains high. In a move that should help soften the blow of the device's delay, Valve has shared the final Steam Deck retail packaging, and it includes a couple of Easter eggs that are sure to make Portal fans smile. The company has finished the DV (Design Validation) manufacturing build of the Steam Deck, which Valve describes as "the final prototype build before production. After this build, there will be additional minor changes in the final product". This DV build had to be completed before the final retail packaging (pictured below) couldn't be tested, but Valve didn't let procedure get in the way of having a little fun, as is evidenced by the Portal inspired safety labels along the side of the Steam Deck's cardboard box. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 10:26 AM So, you want some Age of Empires 3 cheats? Whether you're still rocking the original version of the popular RTS game, or have upgraded to the shinier Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, there is still a modest selection of cheat codes you can use if you fancy giving yourself a leg up. There's honestly not many, so this is a very short and sweet guide, but on the bright side unlike using Age of Empire 2 cheats, you won't be prevented from gaining any achievements (as far as we can tell, anyway) if you use any of the codes below. If you own the Asian Dynasties expansion, there is a separate list of cheats you can use there as well. To use Age of Empires 3 cheats is a doddle - simply press the ENTER key to bring up the chat box, then input one of the codes below and watch the magic happen. Note that a couple of the cheats below benefit all players, not just yourself, so be careful what you wish for. Thanks to the Age of Empires 3 wiki for help. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 10:18 AM The festive season is nearly upon us, so your favourite PC games are getting suitably merry to celebrate. That's mostly true for Apex Legends, though there are pirates here, too, because the recent map is a tad tropical. Apex Legends' Raiders Collection event runs from December 7-21, introducing event-limited cosmetics for Valkyrie, Loba, Revenant, Bloodhound, Pathfinder, Wattson, and Wraith to make them look like pirates - because that's what the festive season is all about. As it is the holidays, though, the Winter Express limited-time mode is making its grand return. The mode involves three squads trying to capture a suitably festive version of the World's Edge train. For the first time, though, you'll be able to pick your loadout before boarding the train. There's some good news for you Wattson mains, too, as the sparky Legend gets her heirloom next week. It's an energy reader with a screen that wouldn't look out of place on a Tamagotchi. There are some balance tweaks, too. To name one, Seer's Focus of Attention will now detonate quicker. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 9:34 AM Want to know what the best Genshin Impact Gorou build is? The new Genshin Impact character Gorou is unique, and it's not just because he's a Geo bow user. Any damage done with his skills uses his defence stat, but for the best build, it's not worth raising his defence to astronomical degrees to make him more DPS-focused. Instead, he's best suited to supporting other Geo users. Why specifically Geo? It's all because of his elemental skills. Gorou's skills become more potent the more Geo users there are on your team. You only get the full benefits if you have three Geo users and one character of another element. It makes him fantastic at supporting the best Genshin Impact Itto build to ensure it deals the maximum damage possible. His skills also work well with the best Genshin Impact Albedo build since Albedo's abilities synergise with Gorou's nicely. Your final team member should be someone who can take advantage of the Crystalise Genshin Impact elemental reaction. Here, you will find the best Gorou build, including which weapon and artifacts you should give him, why you should unlock his fourth constellation, and what role he plays as a support in your team. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 9:31 AM The ongoing component shortage is taking its toll on the gaming PC scene, and both Nvidia and AMD graphics cards are still going for double their MSRP. However, if you're batting for the red team and looking for a low-cost graphics solution, you might be in luck, as a new duo of entry-level Radeon GPUs could crop up in early 2022. According to Bilibili user Enthusiastic Citizen, AMD's Radeon RX 6500 XT might launch mid-January 2022, while the cut-down Radeon RX 6400 is suspected to emerge in March. The leaker also says that both cards will feature 4GB GDDR6 memory, and the RX 6400 won't require a PSU connection, something that's sure to appeal to micro gaming PC enthusiasts. While the low spec nature of both cards restricts you to 1080p, reduced VRAM means they can't mine Etherium, which might help keep stock available. That said, the GPUs are still capable of mining other cryptocurrencies with a small enough DAG size, so we can't be so sure that miners won't take an interest. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 7:53 AM Coming up against limited speeds is one of the most frustrating parts of online gaming. You spend hours developing your technical ability, grinding for the perfect armour, and levelling up along the skill tree - all to get beaten during a buffering connection. Luckily, you can - and should - expect better. Not all of these frustrations come down to bad luck. Sometimes internet providers can actively throttle your speeds when they detect that an online game is being played. If this is the case, it can make all the difference to competitive games where every second counts. Getting around this bottleneck is surprisingly easy, as using a VPN can ensure that your speeds stay consistent and help you secure that win. Additionally, VPNs can enhance your gaming experience in other ways, including keeping you safe online and preserving your privacy. So what is a VPN? Essentially, a Virtual Private Network which allows you to participate as a user of any local server as if you were physically there, without you moving a muscle. Using a VPN means that your data is transferred through a server owned by your VPN provider, and sent securely from a remote location, hiding your identity and activity online. Perhaps most importantly, however, using a VPN can enhance your gaming experience. RELATED LINKS: Best SSD for gaming, How to build a gaming PC, Best gaming CPU |
PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 7:45 AM It seems Creative Assembly is cleaning house ahead of the big Warhammer III push next year. Yesterday we learned that proactive support for Total War Saga: Troy will end with the upcoming new DLC and patch. Today the studio has released a new beta patch for Total War: Rome Remastered, which will be the final "planned" major update for the strategy game. The 2.0.4 update is quite big, with lots of UI fixes and quality-of-life improvements. The most exciting changes are the ones that look to further improve modding. The hardcoded faction limit has now been removed, meaning there is no cap on the amount of custom factions that can be added to the game. There is also now support for more than one 'super' faction. Currently, the three playable Roman factions and the non-playable Senate are the only examples of such a grouping, and all super factions can now have more than three members. Removing the hard cap on faction limits is something the community has been asking for for over a decade now. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 7:37 AM Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition's new Mexico DLC has now landed, and an event kicking off its arrival is live. Called Fiesta Mexicana, the event runs until January 10 and lets you unlock some new explorer skins and other rewards by besting a bunch of challenges before that date rolls around. There are 31 challenges in total, so there's a fair bit to do if you want to nab all that's on offer. The rules of the game are as follows. Each day, you can unlock a maximum of three new challenges. If you want to grab the new explorer skins, you'll need to complete all 31 challenges - representing 31 Mexican states - before January 10, though there are other event-exclusive rewards you'll earn along the way as you hit certain milestones. These come around for every five challenges you complete, with each goodie being a new profile icon - for example, challenge five will yield you a Salteador icon. To get these milestone profile icon rewards, you'll need to complete the challenges laid out in the devs' announcement post within the event's live window, in the specific order they're given, and on separate days. So, you'll need to keep coming back while the event's on to nab everything if you're keen. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 9:57 AM Looking for the best New World Void Gauntlet build? The Void Gauntlet is the first New World weapon to be introduced since the MMO game was released, and arrived as part of the Into The Void update. The Void Gauntlet is a magic weapon that shoots ranged projectiles that deal – unsurprisingly – Void damage. It's not used exclusively as a ranged weapon, though, as it can also summon a Void Blade that performs melee attacks. Holding 'block' converts your health into mana over time. This may seem like a dangerous trade off, but crucially, several Void Gauntlet abilities provide healing to yourself and allies – making it the only other source of healing in the game aside from the Life Staff. Like the Life Staff, the Void Gauntlet's healing also scales based on your focus, making it the second weapon in the game to use the focus attribute. The Void Gauntlet abilities are split into two skill trees: Annihilation and Decay. Annihilation is primarily used to deal significant damage, and Decay skills are focused on healing and debuffs. Both playstyles are viable in both PvP and PvE - we've put together the best Void Gauntlet builds for every situation below, including recommended perks and abilities shown using the New World Fans fansite's skill tree tool. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 6:38 AM It's the most wonderful and festive time of the year, so New World is getting some suitably merry content to tide players over for the Christmas period. It's not all snow and tinsel, though, as Amazon Games is also testing some new endgame and crafting features on the PTR to alleviate some players' concerns. The Winter Convergence features festive villages, jolly activities, and some rather grinchy yetis. Four towns in Everfall, Monarch's Bluffs, Weaver's Fen, and Brightwood have been spruced up by a quest-giving NPC called the Winter Wanderer, with the land between now blanketed in snow and dimly lit by northern lights in the sky. If you seek out the Winter Wanderer, you'll get an array of holiday quests to complete. The Convergence Spirit is a special town project that involves decorating a particular village, Lost Present Recovery is about recovering goodies from Frigid Folk, and Gleamite Collecting is about seeking out festive meteor showers to collect the glittering debris once they've nestled on the ground. If you fancy some action, you can adventure to one of the new Ice Caves that have appeared due to the Winter Warrior's desire for a permanent winter. If you enter one, you'll find yeti trying to use their powers to freeze up and make snowfall. RELATED LINKS: New World system requirements, New World beginner's guide, New World review |
PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 6:49 AM Patch 2.3 for Diablo 2: Resurrected is now live, and while developer Blizzard Entertainment is yet to provide a detailed breakdown of all the things this update brings, it's said that players can expect "many bug fixes and other improvements". Thankfully, the company posted a 'Patch 2.3 Highlights' blog post a few weeks ago, so we at least have some details on the accessibility and visual improvements that are now in the game, including Nvidia DLSS. Nvidia's technology is a real boon for anyone looking to boost fps without the fuss or cost of upgrading their gaming PC. It uses AI upscaling to maintain sharp image quality despite rendering games at a lower target resolution. Unfortunately, you'll need a compatible Nvidia graphics card to use the feature, and there's no sign of AMD FSR support yet. Regardless, given that the Diablo 2: Resurrected system requirements are already so low, we're not entirely sure how beneficial Nvidia DLSS will be, but it's nice to have the option all the same. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 6:28 AM Rust's next monthly update has landed. The survival game's December offering ushers in a bunch of varied changes and content, with "massive" production buffs for the excavator, a revamped first-person spectator mode, some AI improvements, and more. Plus, there's a Christmas-themed bash coming up soon. Facepunch has revealed that the Excavator monument - which can be used to produce useful materials - has received some big ol' buffs that mean one unit of diesel fuel will now power the contraption for two minutes and produce a high new volume of yields. These are 100 high-quality metal parts, 2,000 sulfur ore, 10,000 stone, and 5,000 metal fragments, which is a pretty big climb from the previous quantities. The newly revamped first-person spectator mode, meanwhile, should give players looking to catch a look at the action a "more pleasant experience". The devs reveal that they've looked to mimic the perspective of actual gameplay as much as possible to improve the mode, with support for "proper weapon view models, better camera perspectives, alt looking, and much of the standard game HUD like the compass, vitals, hotbar and, teams". PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 5:51 AM With a world as deep and immersive as Tamriel, it's no surprise that the Elder Scrolls games are so popular. However, rather than just tossing an MMO framework on top of what had already been established in earlier games, The Elder Scrolls Online also added a lot to the lore and the history of its world. Indeed, it continues to do so with its ongoing updates. Those who love to dive deep into its fictional history will be very happy to hear that The Elder Scrolls Online: Tales of Tamriel box set is now 51% off on Amazon, making for a great addition to your collection, or wonderful Christmas present for a fan. This box set contains two decoratively bound volumes which collect the contents of all the books from The Elder Scrolls Online, and reprint them alongside beautiful pieces of concept art. Titled The Land and The Lore respectively, each book covers a different aspect of the vast world of ESO. Presented in a sleek slipcase, the boxset is ideal for gifting if you know someone whose default response to any new fantasy game is, "It's good, but it's not ESO". PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 5:23 AM 03/12/21 Fresh leaks suggest Nvidia's entry-level RTX 3050 desktop GPU could arrive on January 27 2022. Nvidia's RTX 3050 laptop GPU has provided many gamers with current-gen gaming PC tech throughout ongoing shortages, and rumours of desktop RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti variants continue to make the rounds. However, according to Kopite7Kimi, it looks like the green team's entry-level card could use specs that reportedly belonged to the Ti model, meaning it's actually faster than we originally thought. As per the leaker's new information, the RTX 3050 will come armed with a GA106-150 Ampere GPU and 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. Previous rumours suggest that the RTX 3050 Ti would feature this chipset, while the standard model would continue to wield the mobile variants GA107-350 setup. Just like with all leaks and rumours, it's best to take the RTX 3050's apparent specs with a grain of salt. However, if the leak is legit, the dedicated graphics card could rival Intel's rumoured Arc Alchemist A380, a 6GB graphics offering that uses a DG2-128EU GPU. The green team's entry-level chip could also surpass GeForce GTX 1660 Super-level performance, but it won't quite beat the revamped RTX 2060, which is set to release next week. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 5:15 AM In Icarus, the new multiplayer survival game from RocketWerkz, there's nothing worse than traveling far from your base just to die to an angry grizzly ambush. Prospectors first encounter bears in the game's Forest biome, the starting location for most lower-level missions. Therefore, players are likely to face these aggressive enemies before they have the proper armour and weapons to combat them. Later in the game, players can easily take down bears with just a few shots from a hunting rifle or shotgun. However, since players typically begin missions without the resources to craft firearms, it's helpful to know some tricks for fending off bears in the early game. It's possible to outrun or outmanoeuvre bears, but it's not easy. The only sure-fire way to not get ripped apart by bears in Icarus is to avoid them altogether. Whenever you come across one, use the game's noise meter to your advantage. If there's a bear nearby, stay quiet by crouching and moving in stealth. As you explore the terrain, always listen for growling sounds, which indicate a bear in the area. Unfortunately, players are bound to find themselves facing bears every once in a while. When you inevitably encounter a bear in Icarus, here's how to kill it before it kills you. |
PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 10:32 AM Looking for the best Genshin Impact Hu Tao build? Hu Tao wields a polearm and is a Pyro based five-star character - the perfect combination for a deadly DPS dealer. You can discover part of her backstory by participating in the Papilio Charontis Chapter story quest. Hu Tao is the 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. She loves to cause trouble and is said to have a very 'punch-able face'. Hu Tao's elemental skill allows her to enter the Paramita Papillo state. In this state, all of her attacks become Pyro attacks and they receive a damage boost based on her max health. Now that Hu Tao has been out for a while, it's safe to say she has some of the best single target damage in the entire game. Unsurprisingly, this has earned her a high spot on our Genshin Impact tier list. When paired alongside a DPS dealer that specialises in AoE attacks, you can easily create a devastating combo to take you through the hardest Abyssal Moon Spire levels. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 7:45 AM We're finally here, the Icarus release date is today! Developer RocketWerkz has shared what kind of hardware your gaming PC will need in order to secure your ticket to the game's hostile alien wilderness. The Icarus system requirements are surprisingly high, especially when it comes to RAM, but it's a tad more forgiving on the GPU side of things. Icarus is a new sci-fi survival game from Dean Hall, the creator of DayZ. You and up to seven other spacemen must work together to survive missions that can last from just a few hours to several weeks. For those who reckon they'll master the game's challenge in no time, Hall has said the development team aims to "add new items, missions, biomes, talents and balance changes after launch. Icarus will be a living, evolving game." Unfortunately, no AMD CPU or GPU system requirements have been provided, but we do know the game supports AMD FSR and Nvidia DLSS, which should both help to boost fps. Nonetheless, those with the best graphics cards and best gaming CPUs from team red should be able to run the game just fine. PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 4:43 AM Want to learn the basics of building in Icarus? Base building is one of the core tenets of a survival game, and the creators of Icarus have taken that to heart. RocketWerkz's new multiplayer survival game offers several different types of construction materials, each with varying levels of utility and aesthetic appeal. By design, players must build new bases each time they enter a prospect, these bases house workbenches and supplies, but must also withstand environmental threats. These include wild animals and severe weather, such as thunderstorms that can quickly set your base on fire and high-speed winds that can wipe out your base completely. As players progress through the game, they unlock new construction materials and building pieces. In order to build specific pieces, a player must reach a certain level and then use a skill point to unlock a construction type. If you're new to Icarus or just want to build a base that won't break down at the first sign of a heavy gust of wind, here's what you need to know about construction. |

PCGamesN Friday, December 3, 2021 8:24 AM Final Fantasy XIV's Endwalker expansion has launched into early access, which means things have got suitably busy for Square Enix's servers. That's nothing too surprising, though, as the team has explained this was likely to happen in a blog post discussing server congestion. The devs have shared some nifty explainers on how busy servers affect login wait times, character creation, and instances for new areas. They've also detailed what FFXIV's Error 2002 is, though you can skip ahead in this article to get the full breakdown. Producer Naoki Yoshida previously told us in an interview that the team was doing everything it could to ensure a smooth launch, even though it was "just inevitable" that you would face a wait to jump in. "There are different elements that we can look at when we're trying to address congestion – there are things we can improve using technology, there are places where we can find people and resources to address that, and there are also places where we can invest money. We are currently putting all of our energy into all three of these points," he said at the time. Yoshida also explained that fundamentally fixing the issue would involve increasing the number of servers "significantly so that players would be able to log in without any waiting times", though that isn't currently possible due to the effects of COVID-19 on development. "It's unfortunately the reality that there are not enough semiconductors on the market," he said. "So even though we would like to invest the money into this field, we're not able to at the moment – this is the most critical issue that we're facing right now." Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, December 3, 2021 10:00 AM I hate to caveat a recommendation with "it gets good later" but unfortunately, the first hour of Chorus (despite the title stylisation, promotional materials do not write it out as Chorvs, cowards) is not good. Yet beyond that lacklustre start is a surprisingly tight arcade space fighter wrapped up in a wonderful bundle of pompous space magic. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, December 3, 2021 8:00 AM Phew. Ready to open the third door? There's still a lot of work ahead of us, but if we go through it all methodically, and make sure it's all in the right place, then we'll be okay. Weird how much you can fit in one box, isn't it? |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, December 3, 2021 7:49 AM Pharaoh was one of those citybuilders I never really grasped how to play as a child, but hot damn if I didn't spend hour after hour constructing neat little rows of farms and carving out a warren of roads for my citizens to scuttle about in. It's a game I have very fond memories of, and publisher Dotemu's latest dev diary about the soundtrack for the upcoming remake has cast me right back to those glorious, if rather futile afternoons spent staring at my parent's living room computer. Musician Louis Godart is recreating the original game's music from scratch for Pharaoh: A New Era, but he's also adding some authentic touches of his own to help do those classic tunes justice. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, December 3, 2021 7:48 AM If you weren't satisfied with only three DLC packs to play with in the hybrid metroidvania roguelike Dead Cells, don't worry. The teams over at Motion Twin and Evil Empire have got your back. The latest DLC, The Queen And The Sea, has been teased with a tiny new trailer. The Queen And The Sea is currently planned for a release early next year. It's described as the largest update to Dead Cells yet, and is designed as an ending to the route started by the two previous DLCs (The Bad Seed and Fatal Falls). I think it's going for more of a The Lighthouse vibe, and not so much The Little Mermaid. You can take a look at the new teaser trailer below. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, December 3, 2021 6:24 AM Neon Giant's first DLC update for The Ascent is out now. They say the Cybersec Pack's contents include "two new weapons, a new tactical, four new pieces of armor and four new animated weapon skins." They've also put together a new trailer showing off these features, which you can take a look at below. That's pretty much it when it comes to the DLC pack, but along with it, Neon Giant have also dropped a new patch for The Ascent too. This is the fifth patch for the game since its initial launch near the end of July 2021. This one includes fixes for various crashes, increases to the stability in co-op play, improvements to the audio, as well as other miscellaneous changes. The patch also adds a new feature called Transmogrification, which you're probably familiar with if you've played games like Destiny 2 or World Of Warcraft. In the words of Neon Giant, this'll allow players to "change their appearance to match the visual style of any armour currently in their inventory by visiting the Stylist and paying a small fee." Once that's done, you can equip any armour you want, and your character's look won't change. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, December 3, 2021 5:01 AM When Arnold Schwarzenegger said "I'll be back" in The Terminator, it seems he was actually referring to his appearance in a Belarusian MMO in 2021. the next World Of Tanks Holiday Ops event will be starring none other than the man himself, as he adds another notch to his, admittedly, quite large belt. |

PC Invasion - FeedDDD Friday, December 3, 2021 10:30 AM The dream of owning a space fighter is close to the dream of owning a car: unrealistic and unaffordable. However, let's focus on two aspects of the dream: fighting and being able to outfit the ship to fight better. Here's an overview of the guns and their modifications in Chorus. A lot of other space fighter games would have you hop from ship to ship, unlocking new spots and new capabilities. That isn't the case in Chorus, where the Forsaken doesn't change much, save for getting upgrades for Nara's power. You start being able to carry three weapons, a Gatling, a laser, and a missile pod, and you finish with those three weapons. Now, off to the guide! Hangar Hangars are essentially the stores of the game. They have two unique functions: to sell you guns and modifications, and to sell you HP and shield upgrades. Yes, I split this into two things to make hangars feel better about themselves. Hangars are, notably, entirely unnecessary if you want to swap y... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Friday, December 3, 2021 10:15 AM Enemies justify the "fighter" part of the "space fighter" game genre, so it's extremely logical that there would be quite a few of those in Chorus as well. Here's a brief rundown of what you'll face — and how to face them. Now, the split of enemies in the game is between human ones and the Faceless, creatures that the Circle worships. About 90% of who you fight will fall into the former category, but the Faceless will make their mark by having the single most annoying unit in the game. Good thing you're playing Magical Space Girl Lilya Litvyak, then! Circle/Pirates Crows The basic run of the mill enemy fighter that comes in the Circle and Pirate variety. They're only ever dangerous if there's too many of them to dodge, but if things have gotten to that point somehow, you can only blame yourself. Tactic: Shoot them with the Gatling on head-on passes, or shoot them with a Gatling after teleporting behind them. Raven Th... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Friday, December 3, 2021 10:00 AM Chorus intrigued me when it was first announced, and then — silence. Once we finally got a press preview (including a bit of the game itself), I was left feeling cold. Perhaps I should have listened to those memories, not even months old, instead of stepping forth to review it. The full Chorus experience barely warmed me up. The story of the game centers around a girl and her spaceship. Nara is an Elder, a top-tier magical fighter pilot for Circle, a space cult. She and her AI fighter, Forsaken, have won great victories for it. But when Nara opened a bleeding gap in reality on Nimika Prime as punishment and sent a billion souls to oblivion, she had a brief "are we the baddies" moment and ran. Seven years later, working as a scavenger for the independent Enclave, she sees Circle assault her new home. Nara must fight back, and to do that, she need both her mystical Rites and Forsaken back. Go in Chorus There, I saved you from having to watch the overly long intro into Cho... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Friday, December 3, 2021 9:45 AM Call of Duty: Vanguard has plenty of secondary weapons for you to choose. Depending on your play style, you can pick a pistol, a launcher, or even pull out a knife. As pistols such as the Ratt have overpowered loadouts, the Machine pistol can be overlooked. With the best attachments equipped, you can build a Machine pistol class for Vanguard multiplayer that will take you to the top of the lobby leaderboard. Notably, the Machine pistol can accompany any primary weapon of your choice. As it's a fast-firing pistol, it will be the most effective at close range. Already, the weapon has a solid amount of speed to its name, which will prove useful when getting up close and personal. However, if you have used the gun, you will know that the fast-fire rate results in the gun having a lot of recoil. The recoil kicks the pistol straight up and there are not enough bullets to recover and get it under control. Therefore, this class will focus on minimizing the recoil to a useable level. &... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Friday, December 3, 2021 9:15 AM Forza Horizon 5 has had a stellar launch, but unfortunately, the initial rollout has had some unforeseen hiccups. Pretty much all of these issues have to do with the game's online functionality, which makes up a huge chunk of the experience. Connectivity issues, disappearing players, and hackers/cheaters have become all too common. This has led to users both regular and even recognizable members of the Forza Horizon 5 community openly and vehemently petitioning Playground Games to address the game's issues with online. In a recent post over on the official Forza website, the team has finally done just so. In a very candid post, Playground has acknowledged all of the major issues currently plaguing the online infrastructure of Forza Horizon 5. This includes all of the major modes including Convoys, Horizon Arcade, The Eliminator, Horizon Open, the EventLab, and even the Leaderboards. In some way, shape or form, all of these modes are suffering from the aforementioned prob... |
