PCGamesN Tuesday, May 31, 2022 7:17 AM PUBG Battlegrounds players can try out the latest update for the battle royale game today by jumping into the PC test server, ahead of the arrival of the PUBG 18.1 ranked season release date. The new patch, which is due to release on June 8, also changes up the map rotation slightly and increases item spawn rates to increase healing potential in the multiplayer game. The patch brings the start of PUBG Battlegrounds ranked season 18 when it launches on live servers next week, and also switches up the map rotation and frequency. Those playing normal matches will notice that Vikendi is gone again, with the snowy map leaving to make way for the return of Paramo's active volcano environment alongside regulars Erangel, Miramar, Taego, and Sanhok. Paramo has seen some slight tweaks to add additional rocks and cover, along with a unique-looking spiral well. The ranked map rotation has been tweaked slightly to increase the odds of players parachuting onto Taego, with a split of 40% of games on Erangel, 30% on Miramar, and 30% on Taego. Rewards from ranked season 17 will also be available to claim once ranked season 18 is underway and must be claimed by the end of the season. RELATED LINKS: PUBG new map, PUBG weapons, Play PUBG |
PCGamesN Tuesday, May 31, 2022 6:48 AM Looking for a Genshin Impact tier list? There are currently 49 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapon, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellations upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging. Don't let the placement of the characters on our Genshin Impact tier list deter you from pulling on the next character banner. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds. In general, being on a high tier means that the character is the best Genshin Impact character in their role, is not too difficult to build, and performs well regardless of teammates. Being on a lower tier means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine. Just to note, the characters are not ranked within their own tier, and with that out of the way, let's take a look at our ranking of characters in our Genshin Impact tier list! PCGamesN Tuesday, May 31, 2022 6:30 AM Looking for the best Destiny 2 Solar 3.0 build for your subclass? The space game's new Solar rework introduces a number of new ways to customise your character if you're using the Dawnblade, Sunbreaker, or Gunslinger subclass. However, with so many possible grenade, melee, super, and special ability combos, which you can further enhance with fragments, it can be tough to figure out what the best build for your Guardian is. In addition, Destiny 2 Exotics and other perks can enhance the build, so there are heaps of possibilities. The Solar 3.0 rework uses the same system of Aspects and Fragments as the Void 3.0 rework that launched with The Witch Queen. In case you're returning from a very long Destiny hiatus, Aspects affect a class-specific ability and also come with a number of slots that can hold Fragments. The effects from Fragments aren't quite as strong, but they're universal across their subclass. The best build boasts Aspects and Fragments that synchronise for massive buffs. Join us as we list our picks for the best Destiny 2 Solar build following the arrival of Season of the Haunted. RELATED LINKS: Destiny 2: Beyond Light review, Destiny 2 exotics, Play Destiny 2 |

We've got everything from the biggest games based on Japan's hottest export shows, through the finest JRPGs, to anime MMOs influenced by the signature anime style. PCGamesN Tuesday, May 31, 2022 6:30 AM There's a new survival game coming that's basically Ark: Survival Evolved except you play as the dinosaurs. Path of Titans is a fun-looking indie game where you take on the role of one of several dinosaurs and try to survive in a pre-human world - and there's a beta coming this summer. There are a lot of great dinosaur games on PC, from Ark to Jurassic World Evolution 2, but very few where you actually get to play as a dinosaur. Path of Titans, from Australian indie developer Alderon Games, is a cross-platform survival MMO game where players roleplay as one of over 30 potential dinosaurs in a big sandbox game environment. A very early access version of Path of Titans has been available on the developer's website for a little while, and the team is now planning a beta for launch this summer across "PC, mobile, consoles, Mac and Linux", with the "first of several" 8 x 8 km maps available and more to come later. |

PCGamesN Tuesday, May 31, 2022 6:25 AM Want to know more about the upcoming Genshin Impact events? A new version of Genshin Impact arrives every six weeks, complete with new characters, quests, and events. It's difficult to keep track of which events are currently running and if there are any new ones coming soon, so here's a schedule for all current and upcoming Genshin Impact events. There are usually a number of Genshin Impact events running simultaneously, and they aren't just in-game events. When a new Genshin Impact character joins the game, the devs launch a web event at the same time - players learn about the latest characters through an interactive story told through a web browser. The rewards for completing different events range from in-game items like primogems and mora, to real life prizes like mouse mats and plushies. Just like the Genshin Impact banners, most events are only available for a limited time, so it's worth participating as soon as you can. New events are usually added to Genshin Impact after an update, but it's worth keeping an eye out on this page as the devs do like to surprise the community. Siliconera Tuesday, May 31, 2022 7:00 AM With the arrival of Genshin Impact Version 2.7, players now have the opportunity to obtain Yelan. She is an entirely new character that has appeared through the update. And to coincide with her arrival, HoYoverse (also known as miHoYo) has shared a Collected Miscellany video breaking down her skills. This includes information as to how players will potentially want to build this character. As it dives into details concerning how her damage will be distributed through her attacks. Yelan is a Hydro Bow user. Her standard attack can be charged, which will allow for players to aim more precisely and will deal more damage. Additionally, a fully charged attack will deal Hydro damage on impact. Players can utilize the Breakdown effect, which can decrease the charging time of her charged attack. If players allow this to charge, it will empower her strike with a Breakthrough Barb. This will deal AoE Hydro damage that scales based on Yelan's max HP. You can watch the Genshin Impact Collected Miscellany Yelan video below. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6-BDI7y-lA&ab_channel=GenshinImpact[/embed] Her Elemental Skill is capable of dealing damage to enemies, but will also allow players to traverse the map at increased speeds. Lingering Lifeline will allow Yelan to move between enemies undetected, tethering them together to deal damage to them once leaving this state. Marking more enemies with Lifeline will increase the chance of Yelan gaining the Breakthrough effect. Holding down the skill button will make the attack function slightly differently than just tapping it. Her Elemental Burst, Depth-Clarion Dice, will create a burst of AoE Hydro that deals damage to enemies and summons an Exquisite Throw. The Exquisite Throw will assist the active character on the field and deal additional Hydro damage based on Yelan's max HP. Genshin Impact is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and for Android and iOS devices. Yelan will be available to obtain through a limited-time banner until June 21, 2022. Siliconera Tuesday, May 31, 2022 5:00 AM The latest dose of Final Fantasy VII Remake art sheds light on a key location from Midgar's Sector 7 Slums: The Beginner's Hall. The official FFVII Remake account shared art of the building on Twitter, as well as some insights into the art team's adaptation efforts.
[gallery ids="928536,928537,928538,928539" link="file"]
According to the insights shared by the account, the team aimed to recreate the messy, cluttered feeling of the original game location in FFVII Remake. The art shows a considerably expanded space compared with the PS1 version. As a full-3D game featuring realistic proportions and scales, recreating the building exactly wouldn't have been feasible. Instead, the Remake version of the Beginner's Hall is a larger structure, and not as obviously vertical. Distinctive touches from the old version like exposed red steel girders and a unique pair of banners are retained. Similarly, the overall structure of the hall is largely the same, with a weapon shop on the ground floor and a storage room full of crates on the second floor. If you'd like to compare the FFVII Remake Art to its inspiration, check out some footage of the original version of Final Fantasy VII's Beginner's Hall courtesy of Youtuber Crazyreyn. The Beginner's Hall can be seen at the 29:55 timestamp. https://youtu.be/9ZFKCYJVMfg?t=1795 The Beginner's Hall is something of a tradition in older Final Fantasy titles. Present since Final Fantasy IV, Beginner's Halls were locations filled with NPCs that did nothing but spout useful tutorial hints in the form of dialog. The FFVII Remake lacks NPCs versed in the art of teaching, though. Following more modern conventions, most tutorials were moved to the in-game help section. That said, the hall does serve a purpose in Remake. It houses a brief set of cutscenes that introduces Cloud and the player to the game's weapon upgrade system. One thing that's completely gone is a tutorial explaining the utility of save points. FFVII Remake utilizes a "save anywhere" style of progress management, leaving save points in the past. Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The next installment is in development. FFVII Remake Material Ultimania Plus, a compendium containing this and other development material, will release in late 2022.
