As far as Fallout 4 mods go, there are a lot of them.      Skyrim mod reimagines all ambient sounds in the Bethesda RPG

While the best Skyrim mods can add everything from whole new sets of nature-themed spells and magic to the ability to take Lydia ice skating in Bethesda's biggest Elder Scrolls game, sometimes it's the subtlest-sounding mods that can have the most dramatic input. In fact, subtle sounds are exactly the topic of the day, as this update to the fantasy game reworks all the ambient sounds you'll hear along your journey across Skyrim.

Battlefield 2042 player count destroyed by 50k Battlefield 1 players

Since its release last year the Battlefield 2042 player count, like that of a few other recent multiplayer games, has struggled to stay afloat on Steam. As our Battlefield 2042 review stipulates, the massive shooter just doesn't have the support it needs, and it always feels like something's come loose from inside the game's engine, bringing the Battlefield car to a standstill.

lonesome village review

There are certain crowdfunded games that you hope do well, just because you think, "The world could use a game like this." Lonesome Village feels like that type of title. It seemed quaint, relaxed, and refreshing. Fortunately, this is a project that did deliver on its promises. However, it is more simplistic and effortless than I expected.

Wes is a young coyote with a mission and destiny. They are the only one capable of wielding a special magnifying glass that can reveal the secrets of an imposing tower in Ubhora. Which is pretty critical, as all of the villagers ended up encased in statues inside when it rose from the ground during a festival. It's time to listen to a fairy friend — who yes, does say, "Hey, listen!" — to restore the town while also socializing in your new home.

lonesome village review

Nothing Wrong with Being Basic.

Now, when I say simple, it applies to pretty much every element in Lonesome Village. The character designs minimalistic, focusing on strong linework and effective colors to set people apart. The characterizations and backstories also aren't overly elaborate. There are no defining characteristics tying them to the puzzles that unlock them, and their backstories and personalities are akin to Animal Crossing villagers. The story itself doesn't wear out its welcome, telling you what you need to know. Puzzles also aren't terribly taxing, with each room only taking under five minutes, and never more than 15. Extra activities, like fishing or farming, don't require too much skill or keeping track of seasons.

In a way, it helps enhance the calming atmosphere. Yes, there is an ominous tower in the middle of town. It is tied to a cult. Villagers are encased in stone statues inside. However, there's no pressure. You don't have to worry about time limits. It is pretty easy to solve most of the puzzles. Earning money or finding items to help with villagers' fetch quests is simple enough. Wes is the only one who can make this community whole again. But really, there's no rush. If you have a moment, maybe you could reunite families and friends? Only if it isn't too much trouble.

lonesome village review

It isn't Lonesome for Long

I ended up getting the impression that maybe it is designed to be a first adventure game for younger players or beginners. When characters talk, there will be icons representing their actions or requests in speech bubbles above their heads. The puzzles I've encountered didn't rely upon text to get the point across or find solutions. It's like a first Legend of Zelda-like, only without Ganon's minions playing keep-away with the Master Sword or the Moon of Termina minutes away from annihilating everything. This also means the life simulation elements are minimal as well. They're more of a thing you can do to help complete requests and ascend the tower.

It also seems like some quality of life features ended up getting left by the wayside due to the minimalist nature. The bag space is limited, so you need to rely on extra chests or go gather again to get some needed materials. Going to interact with a save statue or chest? You need to approach it from the right direction before pressing the button, or nothing will happen. I also initially encountered some issues in which I might "lock up" in a puzzle room and be unable to proceed. But I found the old failsafe of "turning it off, then on again" tended to solve any issue. A second pass through the script would also have been appreciated, as I came across quite a few instances where a line would repeat or there'd be a spelling error. (The repeated lines could have been the result of a bug, however, and may be fixed after an update.)

Lonesome Village is pleasant. The world is bright and colorful. Despite things being Very Wrong around town, there's no sense of pressing danger. It encourages you to take in the scenery and solve puzzles at your leisure. While that means it can feel a little too rudimentary, it's generally a good time. Especially as villagers start to return and you get a chance to interact with more (virtual) "people" again.

Lonesome Village is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC.

street fighter iii velociraptor

The official Capcom artwork team Twitter account shared some of the early character designs for Street Fighter III. Some of the characters have little blurbs that explain how they would have played. Apparently, the team had even considered putting in a velociraptor (like the actual dinosaur), though evidently this idea did not make it past the drawing board.

You can see the initial Street Fighter III character designs here:

[gallery link="file" ids="939170,939171,939172"]

The second character after the velociraptor is an "American Ryu" who can use aikido. He would have been a passionate New York cop. Next to him is "Pankration Guy," and after him is "Jiu-Jitsu Practitioner." The Jiu-Jitsu Practitioner would have only used throws and holds, though they are blockable. When he uses his kiai, he can cause his enemies to stumble and become unable to get up. Also, the Jiu-Jitsu Practitioner would have had a pretty wife.

Other characters we can see in the early character designs include a street dancer, an assassin, a marionette master, and a businessman. It is unclear how the businessman would have fought against martial arts practitioners on the level of Ryu or Chun-Li. The street dancer, on the other hand, would have used capoeira. The majority of his moves would have utilized his feet and legs.

Street Fighter 6, the most recent entry to the Street Fighter series, will come out in 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. You can read our preview of the game here.

The next new Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet is Gimmighoul, and this ghost type is also showing up in its Roaming Form in Pokemon GO.

There's a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet character called Gimmighoul, and it will also come to Pokemon GO. It is a ghost-type Pokemon that appears to be inspired by the "mimic" chests. However, in addition to the "Chest Form," there is a "Roaming Form" that involves the ghost exploring on its own, outside of a chest.

First, here's the trailer showing the new Gimmighoul in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It shows how the Chest Form could be sitting stationary along a wall. The ghost is inside, surrounded by coins. This version then appears alongside a trainer in battle. After that, the Roaming Form appears at the 45 second mark. It is standing atop a sign and carrying a coin on its back. The official site says nobody's ever managed to catching a Roaming Form of the character, due to its high speed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYH1cpAtjEE&ab_channel=TheOfficialPok%C3%A9monYouTubechannel

Speaking of speed, Rattled is the Chest Form of the character's ability. If the ability works the way it did in past games, this means that bug, dark, and ghost-type moves will raise its speed stat.

Here's official art of the character:
The next new Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet is Gimmighoul, and this ghost type is also showing up in its Roaming Form in Pokemon GO.

There's also a video discussing its appearance in Pokemon GO featuring Professor Willow and Mr. Jacq. It notes that the character's coins are showing up in the mobile game. While they run from trainers in the Switch game, they seem to approach folks in the mobile game. The video then shows an ominous story involving the ghost type. When 999 coins go into the chest, something happens. This announcement also confirmed the console and mobile game can link to each other in 2023.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will come to the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022. Pokemon GO is available on Android and Apple iOS devices. The last new character revealed ahead of it was Greavard.

Where Should I Play Stardew Valley switch pc vita

Hi, my name is Jenni. I have a Stardew Valley problem. That is, I own five different versions of it. I can go over to my Switch, Xbox One, PC, Vita, or iPad and enjoy a life in one of at least seven Stardew Valley farms. It's great! It also means I'm pretty well equipped to answer the question, "Where should you play Stardew Valley?" So, here we are and here I am to offer some well-intentioned suggestions!

Where Should I Play Stardew Valley switch pc vita

Where should you play Stardew Valley if you want the full experience?

The PC version will always be the optimal place to start a new life on a farm. For starters, this will always be the most up-to-date version of the game. Concerned Ape's updates always show up here first. In the past, it even happened years before. So if any more patches do appear and you want that extra content ASAP, this should be your primary homestead.

It's also the best way to play the game because of the mods. There is a robust community of people making all sorts of additions. Some add extra content. Others change the way things look. You can even enjoy unofficial "crossovers" that bring in things like Pokemon. I'm fully convinced that with the efforts fans take, someone could spend the rest of their lives with only Stardew Valley and remain satisfied.

Where should you play Stardew Valley if you want to use a console?

The Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions of Stardew Valley are all great. One isn't superior to the other, honestly. (I say this as someone who owns two out of three and played on all three of them.) Pick the console you like best and use the most, and get it there.

concerned ape

Where should you play Stardew Valley if you want to do so on the go?

For a portable farming experience, you need to go with the Switch or PC version of Stardew Valley. Which one you pick depends on a few things. The mobile ports aren't bad, but you won't get 1.5 on Android or always possess easy access to those coveted buttons on a phone or tablet.

If you don't own a Steam Deck, then go with the Switch version of the game. It's great! I spend most of my time playing it there. You get the ease of playing it everywhere. Plus, there's the option of going docked to see your farm on a larger screen. (That's handy for multiplayer!)

If you do own a Steam Deck, then absolutely go with the PC port instead. This is because you can take advantage of mods still! You'll need to get the SMAPI mod loader for the game, install it in Konsole, then get your mods and put it in your Stardew Valley mods folder. People updated the official wiki for the game with a great walkthrough that will help you through it.

stardew valley vita

Where should you play Stardew Valley if you are a true connoisseur of fine handheld consoles?

The Vita version of Stardew Valley would be a good pick, because Vita means "life."

More seriously, it is genuinely great on Sony's handheld! Yes, you are limited to editions up to 1.2. But you can still get the additional farm updates, find spots to dig up on your farm, enjoy more conversations with your spouse, and have more options when placing buildings on your farm.
