They'll definitely be digging for a while too, because this season the amount of XP needed to complete the battle pass has nearly doubled. As MultiVersus tweeter and data miner LaisulMV noted, to complete the original Season 1 battle pass you'd need to accrue 47,650 XP to make it from Level 1 to Level 50. Season 2's battle pass, on the other hand, requires a total of 87,450 XP. Levels 41-50 alone take almost as much effort as the first season's entire battle pass, weighing in at 46,200 XP. |

On November 30, 2022, the Drizzle Season will come to an end. However, that doesn't mean the end of milestone bonuses. On December 1, 2022, Chill Season catalog rewards will begin being doled out in Splatoon 3. To help get an idea of what folks will get, the Japanese Twitter account offered a sneak peek at the next catalog. The Aerospray MG and Slosher Deco will also be showing up soon, and videos peeking at both appeared as well. First, here's the Japanese Chill Season 2022 Splatoon 3 Catalog looking at rewards from level 1-100. While the North American account also teased it, there's no English language video yet. Also, while the English account said you could see it in-game, at the moment the Nintendo Switch Online app and Splatoon 3 haven't been updated yet with an option to see the Chill Season items. It confirms Tableturf Battle card packs, emotes, title parts, weapons, locker decorations, and clothing will all appear. Many of the items have winter themes, like coats.

The Dragon Ball Super manga is about to return with a new arc following its hiatus. The official site for the series confirmed it will return in December 2022. Chapter 88 will debut on December 21, 2022. People in Japan can read it in V Jump. In English, people will be able to turn to Viz Media for the new chapter. The announcement also included a teaser for what the new Dragon Ball Super manga arc might entail upon its return. The official site showed art of Goten, Goku and Chi-Chi's second son, and Trunks, Vegeta and Bulma's son. Both are wearing super hero outfits, which is fitting as this will be the Super Hero arc. Here's a picture of Goten and Trunks in their outfits. As a reminder, the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie just appeared in English theaters in August 2022. The Genshin Impact Hypostatic Symphony event is about to return. On November 24, 2022, people can take part in Hypostatic Symphony: Dissonant Verse. This event involves fighting the Hypostases cubes you'd normally see as Normal Boss encounters around the world. HoYoVerse brought up requirements and rewards that come from taking part in Hypostatic Symphony: Dissonant Verse. Someone needs to be at Adventure Rank 20 to take part. If they are, then they can go through stages that feature a Hypostasis. Stages will have Standard and Intense Scoring options. There will be multiple difficulty levels, which will affect the level of the opponent and how many points you can earn. Four stages will be available, and the teaser art shows the Cryo, Dendro, Hydro, and Pyro Hypostases. As for the rewards, the image teased seven that will show up. As usual, Primogems and Mora will be doled out for certain score levels. The icons for Hero's Wit character experience books and Mystic Enhancement Ore weapon experience items show up too. The page also shows the Boreal Wolf's Cracked Tooth, Chains of the Dandelion Gladiator, and Debris of Decarabian's City Ascension materials. This is the second time the Hypostatic Symphony event appeared in Genshin Impact. It first showed up in January 2021. That one involved Anemo, Electro, and Geo Hypostases. Bandai Namco teased the Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker Naruto Uzumaki (Baryon Mode) DLC for a while now. However, it seems the release date could be drawing nearer. That's because now that company shared a number of screenshots showing the new version of Naruto in-game. Here's a gallery looking at the four screenshots Bandai Namco shared. It also confirmed this version of Naruto can use Baryon Bullet Barrage and Baryon Tail Breaker Ninjutsu. As a reminder, this Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker Naruto (Baryon Mode) DLC isn't the only add-on we know is on the way. The company also teased Isshiki Otsutsuki. That came up during a news story on Xbox celebrating the series' 20th anniversary. They are the last two characters in Season Pass 5. That five character pass also added Madara Uchiha (Six Paths), Temari, and Konohamaru Sarutobi (Boruto) so far. Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker first launched back in 2018. Bandai Namco continued supporting it in the years since. In addition to DLC, a number of other updates appeared for it. We'll soon be halfway through the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe updates. Nintendo announced both the release date and courses that will show up in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pack Wave 3 DLC. It will debut on December 7, 2022. Eight courses will appear in the new Rock Cup and Moon Cup. As for the new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pack Wave 3 DLC tracks, here's what people will see in each up. Of the eight courses, none are completely new. As a reminder, there are two ways to access these new courses. Someone can buy the Course Pass on its own for $24.99. It is also included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. However, if you get access to it via the latter, you will lose access if you stop subscribing. Also, either the basic version of NSO or the one with Expansion Pack is required to race online. Here's a video showing off how the new DLC tracks look in-game. This means three more waves of DLC are left. Nintendo noted at the end of the latest trailer that Waves 4-6 will appear before 2023 ends. Players of the English version of Fate/Grand Order received some good news at the game's Anime NYC Panel. According to Director Yoshiki Kanou, the FGO pity system will debut alongside the Heian-kyo story chapter (a.k.a. Lostbelt No.5.5). The chapter goes live on November 21, 2022, and the pity system will apply to its limited summon banners. The system arrives early compared to the Japanese edition of the game, which received it in January 2022. Here's a shot of the presentation slide detailing the new FGO pity system. You can also see it in the stream archive at about the 1:30:00 mark.
Formally titled the "Guaranteed Summon" feature, the FGO pity system is similar to those implemented in other games with gacha or loot box mechanics. Also known as "safety net" systems or "bad luck protection," pity systems are a way to guarantee a desired outcome within a certain number of rolls on the gacha. Prior to this, FGO had no real safety net, meaning that a player could, in theory, spend extremely high amounts of Saint Quartz (and potentially money to buy it) and still not receive a character they were looking for. Now, the system will guarantee a copy of the featured SSR (5-Star) character within the first 330 Summons (rolls) on a given banner. The use of Paid and Free Saint Quartz, as well as Summon Tickets, counts towards this limit. So, starting from zero, and assuming the player has no luck at all, one could receive the banner SSR character by using 900 Saint Quartz (or 30 11-roll summonings) at current rates. The FGO pity system does have some limits, though. It only applies to the first copy of the featured character, and only on banners with an end date (so there's no pity for the permanent Story Summon banner). The "counter" for rolls also resets when the banner ends or the summon lineup changes. Thus, in the case of "daily pickup" banners where the featured Servant can change day-to-day, players will have a pretty short time to roll for a character if they're trying to take advantage of the pity threshold. Shin Ultraman, the standalone movie "reboot" of the classic tokusatsu hero franchise, will appear in theaters in the United States. The announcement was delivered by Tsuburaya Productions at the Ultraman Connection panel at Anime NYC over the weekend. The Shin Ultraman English showings will be held by Fathom Events over two days: January 11-12, 2023. Fathom has not yet announced planned locations for the showings. Tsuburaya also revealed the official Shin Ultraman English logo in a Tweet.
The logo replicates the simplistic brush-stroke lettering used in other "reboot" films influenced by Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno. The styling was also seen in Shin Godzilla, which was co-directed by both Anno and Shin Ultraman Director Shinji Higuchi. A similar style is also used for the Shin Kamen Rider film, though it does not have an official English logo. Shin Ultraman debuted in Japan in May 2022. It tells a new story closely influenced by the original Ultraman series and its immediate predecessor, the 1960s Kaiju series Ultra Q. It follows the activities of the S-Class Species Suppression Protocol Enforcement Unit (SSSP), a team of government agents tasked with finding ways to defeat the many Kaiju that menace Japan. During one attack by the Kaiju Neronga, a new humanoid being appears, destroying Neronga with a powerful beam. The SSSP must then find out more about the new being, codenamed "Ultraman", with their efforts complicated by geopolitics and the influence of powerful alien lifeforms with designs on Earth and its people. Shin Ultraman will debut in the United States on January 11-12, 2023. Tsuburaya, Toei, Toho, and Studio Khara have plans to bring the Shin reboots together in some way, but haven't announced details yet. Sword Art Online -Progressive- Scherzo of Deep Night (a.k.a. Scherzo of Dark Dusk) will get theatrical showings in North America. The official Sword Art Online account announced that SAO Progressive movie 2 will appear in U.S. and Canadian theaters in February of 2023. It arrived in Japanese theaters in October 2022. Like Aria, Scherzo takes place during the Aincrad storyline of SAO's history, when Kirito and Asuna were trapped inside the death game. Each film in the SAO Progressive movie series corresponds roughly to a volume of the original novels, which in turn covers the story of a "floor" in the Aincrad dungeon. Scherzo of Deep Night is the fourth volume of SAO Progressive, and covers the cast's adventures on the 5th floor of Aincrad. Kirito and Asuna arrive on the 5th floor two months into the death game, and struggle on the front lines of progress. Not only do they have to deal with the dangers of the 5th floor's labyrinthine layout, but also the politics of the guilds leading the raiding parties, and the emergence of PKers - Player-Killers - that don't care about the fact that if you die in SAO, you die for real. Actor Jason David Frank, best known for his roles in the Power Rangers franchise, died. The news of his passing was announced by people close to Frank, including his personal trainer Mike Bronzoulis and his representative Justine Hunt. The cause of his death has not been officially confirmed. He was 49 years old. [Thanks, TMZ!] Born in 1973 in Covina, California, Jason David Frank was one of the original cast of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. That is the English-language adaptation of Japan's Super Sentai tokusatsu series. He played the character Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger. Tommy was initially cast as an antagonist, an evil Ranger working for series villain Rita Repulsa. Freed from Rita's control by the Power Rangers, he joined the team, becoming the White Ranger. Frank, as Tommy, would take on other Ranger roles in follow-up series, such as Zeo Ranger V Red in 1996's Power Rangers Zeo, the Red Turbo Ranger in 1997's Power Rangers Turbo, and the Black Dino Ranger in 2004's Power Rangers Dino Thunder. Jason David Frank also appeared in other films and TV series. At the time he was cast for Power Rangers, he also starred in the pilot episode for what would become VR Troopers, an adaptation of Japan's Metal Hero series. He played AJ in 1996's Sweet Valley High, and the One Warrior in 2011's The Dragon Warrior. According to his IMDB page, at the time of his death Frank was working on Legend of the White Dragon, a Power Rangers-inspired feature film. He also voiced Tommy Oliver as Lord Drakkon in Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. Power Rangers co-stars Walter Jones (Black Power Ranger in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) and Blake Foster (Blue Turbo Ranger in Power Rangers Turbo) also paid their respects via their Instagram pages. Jones said "My heart is sad to have lost another member of our special family." Foster said "Heartbroken yet again. Lost my hero, our leader, my friend and an icon." The English version of Fate/Grand Order will see its next major story chapter land this week. Confirmed at Lasengle's Anime NYC event for the game, the Fate/Grand Order Heian-kyo story chapter will go live on November 21, 2022. Formally titled Naraka Mandala, Heian-kyo Thunderous Flash, the chapter is numbered 5.5 in the main campaign, putting it between Lostbelt No.5 (Atlantis and Olympus) and the next Lostbelt. Lostbelt No. 6 hasn't been revealed officially for the English, though it was added to the the Japanese version in mid-2021. The story also serves as a follow-up of sorts to the Shimousa Pseudo-Singularity from the FGO Epic of Remnant storyline. Players who complete the Heian-kyo Singularity will unlock a new costume for Sakata Kintoki's 5-Star Berserker form. A common feature in Pokemon games is a character that requires a special item to evolve. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it's Charcadet that can't evolve into Armarouge or Ceruledge unless it gets some "armor." This involves a bit of item gathering, trading with an NPC in a specific city, and even trading if you want to get both evolved forms. How to Find Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.I've found Charcadet in two places rather early on in Pokemon Scarlet. One is just past the west side of Cortondo, where you take the bug-type gym challenge. As you head up toward West Province (Area One), it can show up as a rare spawn. I also saw them occasionally around South Province (Area Three). Again, it could be rare. However, the most reliable source of sightings for me has been Tera Raids. If you check regularly, it can show up as a one-star or three-star raid. You might not get the Tera type you'd like, but it is a good way to catch one fast.
How to Evolve a Charcadet into Armarouge or Ceruledge in Pokemon Scarlet or Violet.Here's where paths diverge depending on which game you're playing. If you have Pokemon Scarlet, you will be able to get the Auspicious Armor to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge. Pokemon Violet players can get Malicious Armor to evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge. In both situations, you'll find a person in Zapapico asking to trade certain material drops from specific Pokemon. In Scarlet, you need 10 Bronzor Fragments. In Violet, you need Sinistea Chips. Both Bronzor and Sinistea are Pokemon that tend to appear around ruins in their respective games. Once you make the trade, which you can do multiple times, the armor you acquired will be found in the section of your bag that features an icon that looks like a piece of candy and is labeled "Other Items." Choose to use it on your Charcadet. It will then immediately evolve, regardless of its level.

Don't go looking for a Daycare Center if you want to breed Pokemon to get eggs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (but still make sure you have a Ditto handy). Now they show up during picnics. This is the new mechanic that involves going into the field, setting up a picnic by opting to do so via the main menu, and taking the time to clean Pokemon or make sandwiches. This means before you take a minute to relax, you better double check who's coming to dinner.
How to Breed Pokemon for Eggs in Pokemon Scarlet and VioletFirst, you want to look at who is in your party. If you really want to force eggs from specific characters, only start a picnic with those two there. Make sure they're from compatible egg groups, then set up camp. If they're not, make sure the character you want and a Ditto are both coming with you. Once you start the picnic, it is a good time to make a Jam Sandwich. This is one of the earliest recipes you can get via visiting sandwich shops and talking to specific picnickers on the road. It only needs one jam and one strawberry. However, its notable feature is it briefly bestows level one Egg Power. This makes it more likely eggs will show up more quickly. Finally, hang around a bit. Every few minutes, check the picnic basket lying on the ground at the foot of your table. If characters are compatible, you should start getting eggs.
Bonus: How to Catch a Ditto in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Ditto is absolutely, as always, your buddy when it comes time to breed Pokemon for eggs. It is compatible with every Pokemon capable of doing so in-game. However, doing so is difficult. That's because in the wild, I've only seen a Ditto disguised as other Pokemon. Specifically, I caught mine outside of Porto Marinada. However, there is another much easier way to find it without randomly entering a battle and hoping the opponent turns out to be a Ditto in disguise. That's Tera Raids. If you check regularly, you'll see the familiar blob. However, I also noticed that the Tera Raid dens around the Porto Marinada region also occasionally housed three-star Ditto raids.
